Samsung Galaxy S8+ - User Reviews

  • Sure. You are right. I rarely take photos at night though.

  • Yeah at times. What I meant was it would've been handy, I really love the camera on the S8+ and I'm not gonna switch to the S10 or note 10 as this phone has never let me down in any aspect.

  • Do you really take photos at night?

  • Agreed

  • Contact your carrier as issue may be with them. (Sorry to all for repeated posts but my posts keep getting held and is stopping me from giving you a quick reply)

  • I have already replied but my post is being held. Try contacting your new carrier as issue could be with your carrier.

  • Carrier could be the issue. Perhaps contacting them would shed some light on what the issue is.

  • Can anybody help me?? I'm having a problem with my S8 Plus after I change my sim card to a new network carrier. My phone does not have a volte option to be turned on and because of that I can't make any call or receive call from anybody. The internet is still the same but I have to set up my own apn in the setting. I'm currently using the unlocked S8 Plus in Malaysia. Does anybody know how to fix this problem? I have watched tons of video on the internet but none of them are working for me..

  • Agreed!!! It's one of the best from Samsung in every aspect.

  • Stilll one of the best galaxy phones....& My favorite too

  • They should've included the night mode for camera which would've been really handy as they did with the S9 series & even the new mid range devices like the A50 & A70 have it.

  • Thanks :-)

  • Security Patch only. I believe the size of DL is between 400mb-500mb.

  • What's new in the update? Any changes or just normal security patch?

  • Not yet still on september update

  • Yes, I recieved tye 1st October update on the 22nd of October. UK unlocked.

  • Anyone on October update?

  • Camera on this phone is still so sharp that you don't have to do any tricks or editing before posting on social media. Simply stunning!!

  • Yes i agree with you

  • Yeah of course we would like to get the Android 10 but that's how it is & it hardly makes any difference as long as the phone is working flawless which the S8+ has been doing :-)

  • In an ideal world of course I would like to get android 10 but Im not that bothered as I can still live a normal life without it. It wont change my life and the S8 Plus will still work fine.

  • Yes i will also keep it for as long as possible

  • That's what Samsung does to it's its older phones just 2 major software updates and that's it!! Samsung S8+ and the Note 8 both deserved the Android 10 update but it won't happen so that more & more people buy their latest offerings. But I'm going to keep my S8+ as long as possible as it's still a wonderful device. They're going to slow down the monthly updates too.

  • I agree with you but i am sad that we dont get android 10 samsung should give android 10 update in S8 plus

  • Like you, I dont see any real rush to upgrade. This phone still performs very well. I Love the screen and even better its free of any distracting notches or punch holes. To upgrade in many ways would be huge step back... and not having Android 10 will not have a huge impact on my life. I can more than live with the S8 plus for now. Happy days :)

  • S9 or S9+ if the comparison is between the S8+ & S9 then the former is better & cheaper with almost the same features except that the S9 will be updated to Android 10. I'm using the S8+ and it's one the best I've used so far.

  • is s8+ or s9 to have?

  • For sure :-)

  • Yes of course i will also keep it for 3 or 4 years

  • Still rocking on my S8+ it is still so fast & responsive may not get the Android 10 update which hurts but still it's much better than the others no notch or punch hole, beautiful design with superb camera. Will keep it for another year or so.

  • Thanks

  • No.

  • Will S8 plus get android 10

  • Exactly after 30 minutes under water the opens a valve that lets water flush inside the phone killing it instantly. You should remove the phone from water after 30 minutes for 5 seconds and then return again

  • Be aware that the phone is, as has already been said, water resistant, but just be aware that chemicals and minerals such as chlorine and salt could cause damage long term by way of corrosion.

  • No phone is water proof. It's water resistant & is as good as other water resistant phones & devices. But if it has water damage, like all phone makers, even if it's water resistant, water damage is not covered by warranty

  • And you can keep it in upto 1.5 meters for 30 minutes

  • Yes but it is water resistant you can keep it in water for 30 minutes

  • Is the Galaxy S8+ water proof? i would like to be taking pictures and vids in the pool. So i just want to be sure

  • Good answers about battery degradation. Each opinion counts to Mr. Mongoose. I won't prey on your chicken anymore :)

  • Thats great

  • I started to be aware of a noticeable drop in battery performance just after about 2 years. Had the phone 2 1/2 years and still very happy with the phone and in no rush to upgrade or change the battery yet until I see a phone I really like or if the battery starts really letting me down which it isn't at the moment. Far from it in fact. I'm still getting SOT that I'm happy with. Best phone I've ever had by a long way. Like you I'm happy :)

  • mine is at 95 percent battery health in 10 month usage so it is fine

  • Yes but it depends on usage that how you used your phone means how much you charged your phone the temprature and did you fast charged or did normal charge it depends on lot of things you can install phone info app in that you can see your battery health that gives you an idea that how much battery is degraded

  • Yes but my battery health is 95 percent in 10 months of use so you are right maybe after 2 years it will drop to 90 percent but i am satisfied with its overall performance and i am happy with it

  • Yes i agree with you

  • I started to notice it after around 1 and a half year

  • Yeah, you're right. Depends how you use the phone E.g Using your phone to play VR games will use far more resources and lead to less SOT than simply browsing the web.

  • Yeah, I think it's good too. I'm very happy :) I cant say exactly how much my phones battery has degraded since I bought the phone at launch but I am very happy with the performance in general and how the battery has held up over that time. Compared to the battery in my S6 Edge for example it's like night and day between them. I have noticed a huge improvement in the lifespan of the battery. The figures that you quote seem to tally with Samsung's R&D boss who told CNET ... "Samsung claims the Galaxy S8's battery won't wear out as quickly as the Galaxy S7. After two years of use, Samsung R&D boss Oh Boo-keun told us the Galaxy S8 should still hold 95 percent of its charge" But as we have discussed people use their phones in different ways so it would be unsurprising to see differences in degradation from one phone to another and not all phones will degrade by only 5% over 2 years as claimed by the R&D guy at Samsung. It will come down to how the phone is used on a daily basis and how hard you make the battery work.

  • And there is an app called phone info in that when i see battery health it shows 94.7% sometimes it shows 95.0% it means battery health is degraded only 5% in 10 months so i think that is good

  • I dont know but sometimes it gives less sot and when i charge it again it gives normal sot i dont know why but i cant say it is because of degradation maybe it is because some apps consumes more battery or some battery intensive app i am using

  • Yes i agree with you i also charge between 40 to 80 sometimes 30 to 80 or 85 so that way i have to charge my phone 2 times a day but i honestly didnt feel any degradation as such i am using it from 10 months now i dont fast charge i do normal charge

  • *Correction Some say dont let run down to below 15-20% and top up charges, rather than long charges from very low to 100% will help too.

  • Sorry I didn't answer your question fully. Yes it is widely accepted that if you dont let your phones battery run down to a very low level before charging then this can prolong the life of the battery. Some say dont let run down to below 15-20% and top up charges, rather a charge from very low to 100% will help too. I generally stick to this but without being too obsessive about it as I want to enjoy my phone and not become obsessed with how many charging cycles the battery has endured since I first used the phone. The main aim of my previous posts was to point out that just basically asking "How long will my battery last in my S8?" Will be determined by how you use the phone, the conditions etc If someones battery degrades quicker than someone else's, over the same period of time, it doesn't automatically mean that there is something wrong with your battery. It's not as simple as that.

  • A full charging cycle is 100% so therefore to charge the battery from 40% to 80% is only part of a full cycle (40% of a full cycle) so for example if the next time you charged your phone was from 20% to 80% so in total a 60% charge. Then this added to the previous charge of 40% would be the equivalent of one charging cycle. I hope this makes sense :) but other factors such as using fast charging compared to normal charging will have different impacts on the battery and different conditions such as the environment will have an impact on battery degradation E.g extreme heat or cold weather. So as you can see it's a bit more complicated than just asking random people without any knowledge of how each person uses their phone and under what conditions and so on.

  • I agree with you but what if someone charges between 40 to 80 percent by doing this can we increase charge cycles and overall battery health

  • Battery degradation will occur more rapidly the more the battery is charged. Every time the battery is charged the battery will slightly degrade. This of course is natural. To solely focus on the length of time someone has used their phone for and to NOT take into account the amount of times that the person has actually charged their battery shows a misunderstanding of the main causes of degradation of the S8 Plus' battery. E.g Someone who charged their phone a full charging cycle (100% in total) once every two days will find that their battery will degrade less over the same period of time compared to someone who charges their phone two full cycle charges (100%x2) per day.

  • Did your battery degraded and how long are you using it

  • Your welcome and also i will say that you should not charge your battery fully to 100 percenr and should not discharge it completely it will degrade the battery very soon you should charge your battery till 80 or 85 percent and should charge it when it drops to 30 or 40 percent it increases life of battery i also do that.

  • Thanks. That's a good observation

  • Well i didnt feel any degradation at all though i am using it for 10 months now and to be honest the performance is almost the same as it was when i bought it and after pie update overall performance and battery life is improved so i am very much satisfied.

  • How many users have experienced significant battery degradation after more than one year use?

  • If you go to an Official Samsung Outlet then IP68 rating will not be lost. Here's a reply I received from Samsung when I asked them. "In regards with your query, yes the phone still have the IP68 water resistance, since our engineers aims to bring back the device to its fully functionality and full features" Any repairs including a battery replacements also came with a warranty too

  • Thanks Legend...same thing in my mind...i dont like to replace the battery coz...if i do so the water seal will be lost...do i will try to use the same battery somehow till its death...and again thanks for the reply...

  • It may of been yourself that had issues before with your battery and said on the 20th Sept here that  i" am using a wireless charger...it takes 4 hours to charge fully" and you were also having other battery related issues. I say that as you have the same user name and location. If so ... Could it simply be that the battery has naturally degraded over time? I know mine has.

  • Hi . Just now got an update for my samsung s8 plus. Now contacts , text messages are not opening. Showing error name ' android.process.acore' . Samsung what the hell is going on ? Could u plz send another update n fix this issue ? Omg I am so pissed off right now . I am in toronto , on , Canada. Thanks .

  • Hi Guys....need some help...iam using a samsung s8 plus since the last year and faced no problem...but now i am facing a battery drainage issue like no before....please help me and its better if someone can tell me a way to increase the battery life,,,,thanks and hoping someones help

  • Thank you so much for the suggested solution. I went at least to 2 repairers in my country (Burkina Faso) but they told me the phone was converted to sm-g955f dual sim from sm-g955n korean. they made a rom flash but still no imei. I have the box and they tried their best in vain. I don't know where to go anymore yet the phone stil pleases me.

  • I completely agree. The S8 Plus is a fantastic phone and still performs well to this day. No other phone out on the market right now is jumping out at me saying "buy me, buy me" and call me old fashioned but I hate this current trend of notches and punch holes on the screen.. After owning this phone since launch I feel no reason and in no rush at this moment to upgrade really. The S8 Plus still does a great job and will set a high benchmark for me personally when I eventually consider what phone to buy next.

  • It's pretty sad that it won't get any major updates, it is still a great phone but that's what samsung does to its older flagships.

  • The S8 Plus will not get any more major updates (PIE was the last) S8 Plus was launched with Nougat and has had two further updates (Oreo and PIE) since launch. The S8 Plus will continue to receive security monthly updates in the meantime but will eventually be moved to quarterly updates.

  • SAMSUNG S8 + Was an Excellent phone , just want to know whether device can get Samsung ONE UI 2.0 and Android 10 by Q4 2019 ?

  • i did calibrated it but didn't work . also i noticed that sot decreased alot than about 3 months ago from naturally 8 hours to 5.5 hours . so i think it's time to replace the battery.

  • I got September 1, 2019 update, should i install it. I heared companys are decreasing performance to old phones. Is there any issuse to be concerned? Thank guys

  • This is the common cause for S8 user, broken Charging Port: Causing Can't Fast Charge Anymore or Dex Station is not usable anymore or Moisture USB False Detection if you find those 3 it means Charging Port is broken, if you don't find that thing: Could Be Just Battery Problem

  • Your IMEI is lost due to much flashing and rooting this is the random cause, you must bring to repair center for injecting IMEI, just bring your box and they will do it, If not Box please beg them to make Fake IMEI, NO IMEI NO Cellular

  • Make sure the Device in Official State not in Custom state (Custom State means the phone has been rooted and changed before then Official is using the Clean Firmware Kernel etc), Samsung or any vendor will block from update if found the device is rooted, Knox triggered does not affect as long phone is in the Official state (Custom Firmware user must checking Device State because somehow it is in Custom State than Official) OR Make sure the device is Sim Lock Free Phone, If Locked must use The phone carrier sim card then you can update There are no problem with OTA except this 2 things above

  • Just make sure you download the right firmware for your phone.

  • Let the battery drain all the way to 0% and let the phone switch off itself. Then try switching on again just to make sure there is no power left in the battery. When you are sure there is no power left in the battery plug in the charger and charge the phone up until the battery is fully charged (green light comes on) and do not use the phone whilst phone is charging (keep phone switched on) After I did this (calibrated) the battery does not run out in a matter of seconds when reaching 15% -20% anymore.

  • Change the cover case

  • my s8+ model G-955F and version: G955FXXU4CRK1 and security patch 1st November 2018 i have not received android pie update and security patch...how to update android oreo to android pie and security patch...

  • i have this phone for 2 years now . still very fast like day one except one major thing when battery reaches 30 pct it goes down in no time to 0 then phone is off . maybe battery degraded over time and needs to be replaced . any one here has this issue?

  • I've had no issues with the September update which I installed on the 23rd Sept.

  • i got update for September of 581 MB, haven't installed yet, should i install it or there is any issue??? #thanks

  • Can i upgrade my phone software

  • I have a Samsung Galaxy 8+ and it's been working fine until now. Recently I find that some things are printed in French even tho my settings say "U.S.English", Mostly it happens when I play Daily Question on the Trivia Crack page. It never happened before this week. I don't know if French will show up on any other game but it's very annoying on this one. Help!!

  • Hi, my s8 plus doesn't recognize sim card anymore. I change as many sim card as possible but there is no network signal. I can't even get into network in the settings. Anytime I press network in settings it brings me back to home screen. Also the IMEI area is blank, no IMEI. I need help cause I like my s8+ too much.

  • Thank you

  • Yes I would install it. I did had no issues at all.

  • I got august security patch today should i install it or not? because i heard that it has some performance issues please someone guide me thank you.

  • The signal is not good enough, may be

  • Maybe there is fault in your network or the caller's network

  • You could be on a surveilance....

  • When people call me, they do hear their voices during conversation. What can be the problem?

  • Ok

  • Yes I changed the battery to solve the issue fully

  • I am still on july update

  • Recieved September Security update today. UK Unlocked, 3 Network. Size 424mb.

  • Try charging with the phone switched off.

  • Maybe

  • You mean you changed the battery?

  • The same thing happened in my note 8 First I searched on YouTube really there are lots of tips including hard reset and clear cache doing with physical buttons, changing charger unit fully, cleaning usb charging port with cotton, finally check out the battery health with local service Actually the final option only helps me

  • This happened with me too.. Try after turning off the internet and wifi... Average full charging time is about 1 and half hour

  • It could simply be that your battery has degraded quite considerably over time (which is normal) and is not performing as it was.

  • You should change your charging cable

  • try changing the adapter...its a adapter fault

  • My Samsung Galaxy s8 plus wouldn't fast charge. when i connect charger then first show fast changing sign then move fast changing to cable charging. kindly help me.

  • I Tried Lots Of Ways but still i get the same issue...now i am using a wireless charger...it takes 4 hours to charge fully...thanks for the help friend...i am looking forward..

  • I really don't understand why people cry so much for updates. They are updating their phones faster than they are updating their...

  • I dont know if that is true in relation to S3's and S4's but what I do know is true is that the last major update was PIE. The S8's was launched with Nougat and has had two further updates since then. The S8's will continue to recieve security updates, which will eventually be received on a quarterly basis rather than monthly.

  • But I remember On some S3's and s4's recieved 3 major Os Updates according to thoz versions wic Had More RAM and Storage Atlist we should Receive 3 MAJOR Os for thoz who Have 6gb Of RAM and 128GBROM

  • *Correction I meant to say the S8 Plus will NOT recieve android 'Q'

  • Agreed, the S8 Plus is still a great phone today. Unfortunately the S8's have already had 2 major OS updates 'Oreo' and 'PIE' so will not recieve android 'P'.

  • Of course A50 can't compare with S8 plus all the way may be except camera side S8 plus only consuming 4% for whole idle night hours really loooong lasting battery. It's still capable for 2020 needs

  • me Too besides All,,,Are we willing To receive Android Q on s8plus coz I Feel this phone is still AWESOME to me..? likely to those who hv 128gb and 6gbram Samsung should do something please🥺🥺🥺&amp;#129402;

  • Try a different charging cable.

  • Guys need serious help...because my s8 plus not charging while its on or off...i have tried several ways but the same issue is hanging down...some time when i am charging the phone...it says that the charger port has moisture and it wont charge anymore...so If some one is having the same issue please help me because im stucked without my phone

  • Guys help this brand new out of the box or a50 ? hows the battery life etc , hows it holds up in term of battery etc i want a phone that atleast stay a day I dont play game often but im planning to play pubg a bit , Im worry cuz it will not get any other android version etc shall i go for a50 ? or this

  • Thats great

  • Just to let fellow S8 Plus users know that I recieved the August Update on the 21st August. I have now recieved a 2nd update today (Still dated 1st August) the size of this new update is 538 mb and includes Camera Stability Improvements. UK (unlocked on 3 network)

  • You're welcome :)

  • Thank you

  • UK (3 Network)

  • Which country?

  • I haven't had any issues from my personal experience. Had update since 21st August and I have no complaints.

  • If it's under warranty still take to service centre and Samsung should replace screen. There are apps that claim to help but they do tend to blast the screen with light so that it's not so noticable, so it's not exactly fixing really as the damage has been done. it's just trying to make the screen more evenly burned in. Well that's as I understand it and tbh I have never used so I will let others who have tried them to give you their opinion. But yeah, if still protected under warranty then approach Samsung. Even after warranty if you have good Consumer Rights Protection in the country you reside you may have a claim beyond the warranty period and well worth looking into Consumer Rights and pursuing if protected by good Consumer Rights in your Country.... but no guarantees of success with this approach obviously. E.g UK Guarantees and warranties are a contract between you and the manufacturer, and the manufacturer must do whatever it says it will do in them. ... However, you still have rights under the Consumer Rights Act or Sale of Goods Act, even if your manufacturer'swarranty or guarantee&nbsp;has expired, and retailers can't ignore this. "A spokeswoman for the DTI says: "There is a common misunderstanding that the EU Directive requires a two-year guarantee to be given, but that is not the case. UK law in practice provides better protection for consumers than the two-year minimum required by the EU - consumers are able to pursue relevant claims for up to six years (five in Scotland)." As I have said there are no guarantees of success with this angle and much will depend on your approach and knowledge of your rights and it also depends whether you are protected by good solid consumer rights within your country.

  • anyone know how to fix screen burn in ?

  • Uganda

  • Any Problem After August security update?

  • You're welcome :) I'm in the UK

  • Which phone did you purchase after Galaxy s8 plus ? I need a mammoth smartphone .

  • Btw i am from pakistan

  • Thank you

  • This is normal as everyone does not receive updates at the same time. I've at times been a couple of months behind some users in the past. It can depend on your country or region or your carrier. I just so happened to get the update early this time but more often than not, many people receive the update before me. This is quite normal, I wouldn't worry about it :)

  • i didn't get any update yet why?

  • There are reports that some users are recieving a 2nd August update in the last 24 hours.. Some people were complaining of performance issues after the first update so I dont know if this update is connected to this. Please note I have not encountered any performance issues myself since updating to August patch a couple of weeks ago. I dont know if everyone will receive a 2nd update and I also dont know if a 2nd update will be available to both the S8 and S8 Plus models either. I also dont know the size of this update either but just letting you and anyone out there that is interested know :) E.g from user on reddit. "Got a second August security update today and it fixed the performance issue. So far I didn't notice any battery life improvement but one thing I noticed is that there is a new boot animation! The samsung logo doesn't pulse anymore but the LED does"

  • 470MB. Contains fixes for seven critical vulnerabilities in the Android operating system and fixes for 17 vulnerabilities that impact Galaxy devices.

  • Ain't received it yet... S8+ FD. How much is the size?

  • I will suggest you that if your phone is damaged by water you should keep it in rice maybe this helps and this is far better then opening the phone and ruining it you should try it

  • Don't do it. You may be able to open it but you may not be able to reassemble it.

  • If you have to ask how to 'open' the phone I would suggest that you leave it to someone who knows what they are doing as you may not be the best person for the job. There are plenty of guides on youtube etc if you must but I would ask yourselves before you start. Do I know what I'm doing? And what exactly do I think I'm going to achieve by opening the phone up? I say that in the nicest possible way. Please dont take offence as I did not intend to offend you.

  • My Galaxy Samsung S8+ is wet someone know how to open it ......

  • I am from pakistan but i didnt got any update yet

  • Ok

  • Uganda

  • Why what is wrong in camera?

  • Which country

  • 1st August Security Update Available Now

  • S8+ in every way accept camera quality.

  • I don’t think it’s burn in... Maybe back up all your files, factory reset your phone, and restore it? I’ve heard that works. I pedi though, I’ve had a note 9 for almost a year and nothing bad has happened to me yet.

  • Yes nice phone

  • Thank you

  • Im really enjoying this phone in 2019

  • I have August update. Got it about a week ago. UK unlocked (3 network)

  • Do anyone got august update please tell me

  • You're welcome, ta :)

  • I can't help but noticing that you continued to buy Samsung phones because presumably you were happy with what Samsung produced. You say the phones "don't last" but as you pointed out you went from an S1 to a note 2 then onto the Note 5 before the S8 plus. Well that is living proof that these phones do tend to last although you have unfortunately had issues with the S8 Plus but you surely have to concede what you experienced does not mean that ALL users will have the same experience as you have had as you have implied here. I just don't see how you can come to the conclusions that these phones don't last based on what you have said and considering your buying habits prior to the S8 Plus. The problem that you incurred doesn't happen to everyone I think that's important to point out and unfortunately there is no guarantees that any other phone on the market regardless of the manufacturer will not fail at some time.......that's technology for you. It happens. So what phone will you now buy that will be guaranteed to last? Please advise as I would like to know as I would consider buying a phone that is fail proof myself. Thanks I do take onboard what you said about personnel preferences, that's fair enough I.E 3.5mm Jack and SD card slot

  • Thx

  • Started with a Samsung S1 then moved to a Note 2 then Note 5 and finally an S8+. These Samsung phones only lasts for 2 years. After doing an OS upgrade my S8+'s screen looks faded. Then it starter not to read the SIM card slot. I did a factory reset and it fixed the LCD issue. The SIM issue is still there. This will be the end of my loyalty for Samsung, not just because they don't last. It also because they don't offer the features I need anymore, the 3.5mm jack and SD card slot. Moving on to other brands.

  • Thx

  • I agree, these are no real game changing advances in the technology and from a personal point of view I can no longer justify constantly upgrading from one year to the next. It's just very slight changes here and there and as ive got older and flagship models have become far more expensive I'm losing the desire I had to have 'the next BIG thing' The S8 Plus does all I want it to do. The phone has performed well beyond my expectations and is still performing well to this day since I bought the phone at launch.

  • Yes it has better battery and camera But is it 75% better 50% or 40% Nope manufacturers upgrading every flagship model only a little bit on every side. ex. Processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon company have enough capability to give you double the power than 845 but they won't Hope you understand

  • Patience , the s10+ is better , better batery , better camers , better screen.

  • I certainly wouldn't be in any hurry to upgrade to the S9 Plus from the S8 Plus. The S8 Plus is still a great phone and I cant see any real justification for going for the S9 Plus. I would wait but that's just my opinion. I would normally of upgraded way before now but I'm really happy with the S8 Plus and will hang on until something really jumps out at me.

  • Anybody here migrated to Huawei mate 20 x ( giant phone ) from Galaxy s8 plus ? What's abt Camera difference, Screen quality difference & headphone Audio quality ? Thanks in advance

  • I have a s8 plus, I don't have enough money yet to buy s10+, Shall I be patient or exchange it with s9 plus at a low price. HELP ME GUYS PLEASE!

  • no doubt about the battery and the camera...every thng is good...i am using a s8 plus...very very friendly to the user...it worth much...dont think twice...buy

  • In my opinion 1 processor and Ram 2 Display including size, type and resolution 3 Camera able for low lights also 4 Brand because some Chinese brand have good specs but no support for service and update and also they're using cheap materials Now S8 plus 1 835 Snapdragon 4gb/6gb 2 qhd plus super amoled 6.2 curved IP68 529ppi Gorilla glass protection 3 Neat 12mp1.7 and 8mp 1.7 4 Two years software updates and security patch for another year wide service and parts available Mi 9 1 855 Snapdragon 6/8 2 FHD+ super amoled ( second quality ) 6.39 flat 403ppi Gorilla glass protection 3 48mp 1.8 no ois 12mp 2.2 and16mp 2.2 selfie 20mp 2 4 Don't know about the software updates because I didn't own this brand. • I am planning to buy S8+.... want to know from user, how about the phone,& its camera?& what is right decision,, Mi9/A70/S8+

  • Yes it's Hundreds of FM radios available on play store No need to connect headset Recording facilities available

  • Can tune in radio work on the S8plus

  • what is your average battery usage...you can save some amount of battery by reducing your screen resolution...as well as the Always on display...limit background processes....kill the background running aapps...i hope this will be littlebit helpful

  • the battery depends on how we work with the phone...it may differ from one to one....your opinion is correct...

  • try the developer options in the settings...minimize all the animatio scale to 0.5...ihave done this so far and now its somewhat faster than the old one...apply a dark theme so you can save battery more than you do with the original theme....

  • Its not much difficult to select...go for the s8 plus..i have used the both phones which you have mentioned above...A50 on screen finger print is too slow...also the other specs...i bought a s8 plus long tme ago and still works smoothly....dont buy a a50....just buy a s8 plus....

  • No this is not normal i am using it from 1 year now it is working properly installed all kind of updates including oreo pie and other security updates but it is working properly maybe you got a fake one

  • How can I do that?

  • 1/3 of my screen became purple to pink after updating my s8 plus . Is that a common problem and how to solve it . THANKS

  • gsmarena have now rectified :)

  • Which one is better S8 Plus or A50? Plz guide.

  • Yeah, the S8 Plus got PIE. Gsmarena are usually on the ball and have updated the S8 specs but as you have pointed out they haven't updated the S8 Plus.

  • If GSM arena posts up to date specs, then why do they list the S8+ as only getting Android Oreo 8.0? Pretty sure it got Pie 9.0 like the standard S8 did.

  • How I can make fast and battery safe of my s8+

  • Starting around 12 months old, not sure if it's relating to "Waze" app, GPS malfunction. Abt 2 months after uninstall Waze app, GPS works as normal again. 2nd attempt to install Waze app and worse thing happened: GPS not function, screen not rotating, iris scanner not function, auto restart (sometimes shut-down). Phone sent for free health check, reset-ed, been informed that the motherboard malfunction and replacement cost is almost 30% of the original phone price. 18 mths for RM3k++ phone, worthy?

  • As we know that service providers like Verizon, at&t...have monthly plans for new phones to thier customers which they ordered from manufacturers like Samsung nd others.. with thier own inbuilt applications and start up logo. Only rooting the phone can clear all these.

  • I bought this phone model g955u but in this phone why at&t carrier is installed nd how can i remove at&t carrier and unlocked to usa offcial help me.

  • Yes i agree with you thank you very much

  • Hey that's great news :) yeah, some apps can go rogue from time to time it happens. Hopefully its sorted now. There is nothing worse when you notice that your phone is performing worse than it was before and you just cant put your finger on what is wrong and can spend endless hours trying to troubleshoot. Sometimes it's best and quicker to just to reset, I know it's a bit of a pain but hey, as I said good news that all is good now. Enjoy your day :)

  • I just reset my phone and it is normal now maybe some bad apps were causing the problem

  • Never fall nto the trap of E.g "He gets 8 hours, I only get 6 hours so therefore there must be something wrong with my battery" Although as you've pointed out if you are getting a dramatic difference in performance following a change, as in your case following an update it's quite legitimate to question why has there been a change in performance and to do as you are doing by asking others. I am only one of many and I can say for sure that I have not experienced any lack of performance following the July Update.

  • I can get 8ish hours on average, sometimes more sometimes less but that does not tell you a lot as I will use the phone differently to yourself, e.g use of apps games, browsing, socoal media time, downloading, music, call time etc phone will also be set up differently e.g screen brightness, location switched off, apps working in background etc Different Conditions e.g signal strength (big impact) and each and every day will could be different to the next. Do i use wifi or mobile data and so on and so on ..

  • Can you tell me how much SOT you are getting?

  • I have the samsung galaxy s8+ model number G955F and i haven't recieved the any One UI and when i click on the download updates manually it doesn't respone,Can someone please tell me how i will fix this issue of mine?

  • You're welcome :) I definitely dont detect any decrease in performance after July update.

  • Thank you

  • I've updated to July but haven't as yet noticed any major difference in performance as regards to the battery. That said I have only updated a few days ago and hard to say for sure .. but certainly not sitting here thinking at this moment "OMG! Arrrghhh battery rubbish now since update" I will post again, if I notice any change in coming days :)

  • Is anyone experiencing battery draining issue after july update? please reply

  • I agree.

  • Nope Mate 10 is not an opponent for S8 plus S8 plus all the way

  • Hey S8+ users. For 2019 which one would you go with the Mate 10 or Samsung Galaxy S8+?

  • Please don't update June security patch if you want built in call recorder of S8 plus from India. As you know there's a built in call recorder application is available on Galaxy series. Last time I bought a Note 8 from India and it was on Android 9. When I come back to UAE I got an security patch update for the month of may. After updating the patch my built in call recorder application disappeared. Sadly that Note 8 bricked due to boot loop problem. Now I bought S8 plus 128 gb rom and 6gb ram hand set running on Android 9 with may security patch. Now I come back again to my work place UAE I didn't update June security patch update because of call recorder application. Because as a business owner I need the application.

  • Buy s9+

  • PIE is the last OS update although the S8 Plus will continue to receive security updates.

  • Will it receive updates other than Pie? Or is Pie the last update? Also is it worth buying now?

  • After pie update the performance and battery timing has increased before on oreo the SOT was 6 to 6 hours 30 minutes now it has increased to 8 hours so enjoy it is normal and good

  • Yes it is normal i am also getting 8 hours of sot yes it has 3500 mah battery but it has 6.2 inch screen also so it is normal

  • I bought new S8 plus last weekend, updated to one UI android 9, and about battery i am able to get approx 8 hours screen on time, is it Normal? I was expecting a bit more from 3500 mah battery. Note: it's Exynos chipset version. Kindly reply, thanks.

  • Have to say changing my headphones was the single biggest improvement for me. I then just adapted the sound to best suit myself and I was able to achieve good results.

  • In my experience mostly the headset with phone will not be delivered high quality music. I replaced my S8 plus headset with another one which I selected from five or six brands from a retailer. For maximum bass and treble use player pro available on Aptoide totally free. U should use DSP pack of it's available on play store also

  • The phone doesn't have telephoto camera so u don't do nothing with it unless u chage ur phone to s10 or notw 8 the problem is within the hardware

  • Thanks dude... Actually i m talking about earphone sound, bass quality. I have a sony Ericsson w995 phone....its sound is incredible with sony XB75ap earphone.... S8 plus sound is far behind.

  • You can download an application called speaker boost from playstore it increases the speaker volume you should try it

  • U can try equalizer apps. Your best bet is being rooted & using Magisk modules like viper4android etc.

  • How may i get the sound quality ( megabass / clear bass ) of Sony Ericsson phone in Galaxy s8 plus ? Any apps.... I miss those music quality badly...thank you

  • Use Gcam app for s8 available on xda.

  • How can we have portrait mode on s8+?? I love this phone, got it for 9 months

  • OK thanks.

  • one week befor i purchased s8plus facing battry draining what should i do plz any body help

  • I'm the same :) No, Gallery pics, vids, documents, apps, games, music wont disappear. This only relates to download manager app so your pics etc unaffected.

  • By doing what you suggest could there be a danger of losing apps or gallery photos? I'm always nervous to do things like this.

  • To enter safe mode whilst phone is switched on. Just press power button and instead of tapping the red 'power off icon on the screen. Keep your thumb pressed on it the red 'power off icon, until you see green safe mode icon and press. Sorry I dont mean to come across patronising, you probably know how to do this but just in case you were unsure. I would then try downloading the update. To come out of safe mode restart phone in normal way.

  • Strange, and it doesnt seem like there is a widespread issue so might be restricted to your region or even down to your carrier, perhaps. I would even try downloading in safe mode before going down the factory reset route. .. Have you perhaps bought a 2nd hand phone recently that's been rooted. I dunno I'm just starting to guess now and taking stabs in the dark. So best to leave it to someone else to help. Best of luck :)

  • Yes I have enough internal storage and also did the things u said but still says (download faild- file download invalid )

  • Do you have enough internal storage? Poor internet connection? Also try going into 'settings' > 'Apps'> now select 3 dots (top right of screen) > select 'Show System Apps' > select 'Download Manager > now select 'Storage' and then clear Data and Cache.

  • You have to reinstall USB drivers for samsung device on windows.

  • Guys I received July security patch on my G955fd nd I downloaded two times but it says "invalid download file try again " so what should I do , I have already wiped catched partition

  • well it is good enough. i am also using this phone since 4 months and enjoying it.

  • I cannot believe the amount of screen on time I'm still getting. I've had this phone since launch and tbh I thought I would be onto another phone by now or at the very least I would have to consider replacing the battery by now. But this phone still keeps on giving.....still surprises me to this day. I'm currently sitting at 33% of battery remaining after 9 hours and 3 minutes of SOT. I've used Samsung internet for browsing for a total of 5 hours and 29 minutes. Played a couple of games for a total of 1 hour 42 mins. Call time 47 mins. And I've listened to online radio for over 2 hours (mostly listening whilst playing an online game and using mobile data) admittedly I do get very good signal strength which helps. I have also set most of my apps so that there is not much background activity going on. I have been indoors most of the time today with location switched off, screen set at 45% (WQHD+) and mobile data switched on constantly.

  • My sansung galaxy s8 plus not reading usb

  • Yes pie is very smooth on s8 plus

  • Your Welcome enjoy

  • Thanks so much, I have done it and it was smooth

  • If you're updating via ota, u won't lose anything unless u factory reset. If you're flashing a rom, u won't lose any pictures, videos or music. Only game & app data will be lost if u cleared data

  • You can update fearlessly dont worry about data loss you will not lose any data

  • No you will not lose anything no need to backup but if you do factory reset in that case you will lose everything in the phone memory you will not lose data from sd card and sim card

  • I want to update to android pie. What files would I lose? I backed up gallery but I didn't back up music files, will I lose my music? And I also I didn't back up game levels, would I lose everything?

  • Thanks

  • Thank you very much

  • Yeah, the timing in which you receive the updates is very random. Sometimes I get them quick and sometimes it seems as if I'm the last person in the world to get it. Very inconsistent.

  • Yes it's normal. The reason is to protect the battery.

  • You are right nice phone

  • Just wanted to say how I'm still very impressed with this phone since I bought it at launch. After 2 years the phone still performs very well, no issues. The battery has been a very pleasant surprise and unbelievable but true I am getting very close to the same amount of OST that I got when I first got the phone. PIE update has been great. Brilliant phone.

  • No i didnt get june update yet i am from pakistan

  • I want to know that when battery temprature is above 38 or above 40 charging gets slow is this happening to anyone else

  • Yes, recieved June update yesterday, unlocked (UK) 3 Network.

  • Yes the latest security patch level is 1st may you should update manually from settings

  • Is there has any update after security patch level April 1?

  • Your welcome

  • Thanks for letting me know, I'm genuinely delighted that you got it sorted. Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)

  • Yes great phone

  • Thank you very much I want to tell you that i changed the cable and it worked maybe the original cable was faulty Thank you once again for your suggestion

  • Cool and you are very welcome :)

  • Yes i also noticed that thank you very much

  • Loving si plus in 2019...good camera :)

  • Just to point out also. As the battery gets closer to being fully charged it will slow down and this is normal. So a complete charge from say 5% to 100% will take approx 1hr 40 mins and it will charge up fairly quickly but when the battery gets nearer to end of charging it will slow down. This is normal. For example my battery is currently at 94% and when I put the charger in it says that the battery will take 12 minutes to reach max charge, so that works out at 2 minutes for every 1% now if that was replicated from 0% to 100% at 2 minutes per every 1% of charge then a complete charge would take 200 minutes (3 hours and 20 minutes) but it doesn't take that long. It's simply that as I have said the nearer it gets to 100% the slower it will take to fully charge. Hope that makes sense and I'm just simply pointing this out to you just in case you didn't know that charging does slows down nearer the end of the charging cycle.

  • Its okay thank you very much for your help

  • No I've not encountered any issue with slow charging as a result of any update. Simply cleaning out the port was all that was needed to fix the issue I had. I dont know why you are experiencing this slow charging issue and I do not know if the issue is a connected to the May update. Other than stating the obvious I.E make sure that you have 'Fast Charge' switched to ON via settings. it would be best to leave this to someone else more knowledgeable than me here. Good luck :) and I'm sorry I was unable to help

  • Do you also facing this problem did you update to may security patch level?

  • I have cleaned the port and i have changed the cable also but it is taking too long to charge is it due to update? because after i update to may security patch level a week before from then it is happening before that it was charging fine 60 percent in 60 minutes but now it is charging 40 percent in 60 minutes it is not fast charging whats wrong please guide me thank you

  • should i buy this phone or not

  • No i have tried cleaning the port but it is charging very slowly i changed cable also but nothing happened what should i do please help me

  • Yes you can play pubg smoothly

  • Is there smoothly run pubg without any lag, hung?

  • It's not only you. It's happened to me a good few times since I bought the phone (had since launch). The problem is more than likely caused by a poor connection caused by lint or dust. So I would suggest cleaning the port out carefully (use something like a tooth pick with cloth round it ) and make sure the cable connection is clean also. If that fails then try another cable.

  • I have s8 plus after may update i am facing charging problem now it is not fast charging enabled and charging is very slow is anyone else facing this problem or it is only me please help me

  • Even though s8 plus is getting no big updates anymore?

  • Mi9. S8+ is 2 years old.

  • S8 plus

  • Yes there is no built in recorder but you can find recorder app on play store

  • My S8+ phone looks excellent with camera, apps, screen and networking... But without dual-cameras. I will keep it use for more than 2 years.

  • I have the s8 and it is an excellent phone. You will not be disappointed.

  • Yes you should buy s8 plus you will not regret

  • Great phone and quality product that still performs well today and can now be found at prices that imo represents great value for money.

  • Helloo! Is it worth it to get this phone in 2019?I am asking that because of the Huawei situation and i need a normal S series phone! Thanks for the answers.

  • Yes you are right it is a good phone i will also keep it as long as possible

So i keep my s8 plus longer for now. Greetings

  • Is there telephoto lens in s8 plus like note 8 can anyone tell me

  • Go to the app info & check if u have given it storage permission & other permissions. Try clearing cache of the game

  • I also have exynos version but i am not facing any issues while playing injustice 2 maybe there is problem in your phone you can clear cache of injustice 2 maybe it helps

  • Guys my phone is S8 plus exynos ! When I open injustice 2 while appearing daily reward option, it automatically exiting, nd I tried all options but still exiting automatically! I need ur help !

  • Yes you are right s8 plus is awsome phone and there is may security patch update and camera stability update you should update your phone

  • Galaxy S8+ is still a wonderful phone. Come on Samsung, give us users Night Mode in camera app. I paid a lot of money for this premium phone.

  • Its water resistant 1.5m upto 30 mins. Yes Waterproof means something is impervious to water regardless of how long it is submerged, water-resistant means a product can stop water entering it to some degree, but not entirely.

  • Its water proof it can stay 1.5 miter under water for 30 minutes and what he was saying about moisture there is tips in device care nothing else

  • Lets stick to facts please. It's NOT a waterproof phone. Its a water resistant phone. There is a difference.

  • Where is moisture

  • Moisture in the port.,,... WTF ---- its a waterprof phone... whats the logic ????

  • Wow! You can really say that again!! Thamk you for your advise!

  • Thats great to know i am also using it from a year now and it is fantastic actually it was costly in my country thats why i bought it late

  • Great phone. I bought the S8 Plus at launch and I would.have normally of changed phones by now based on my previous buying habits (I was a serial up-grader) BUT This 'thing' (The S8 Plus) is a keeper. Oh Yeah! S9's Launched ...nah, not at all tempted S10's Launched..nah, was still not tempted .. S11's?.....well let's wait n see but it's not like I'm saying to myself "OMG, I really need a new phone" all good :) happy days.

  • Yes you are right s9 is same as s8 plus little bit difference so we should stay with s8 plus till something better comes btw how long you are using s8 plus can you tell me?

  • Thanks a lot!! I really love it... I wanted to update S9+ but it's practically the same, s10? Is good but there's no notification led and a punch hole, that's boring, the battery is poor

  • I find it very good everything is perfect specially battery after pie and oneui update yes i will also keep it for 3 years more

  • How do you find your S8 plus ? Please I want to keep it till s11 comes.

  • How to install?

  • When you download it then you should get a install option there

  • Europe,Albania.

  • How to install after downloads?

  • Then you should download the update from sammobile.com you can search the latest firmware from here and download it

  • which country are you from

  • Yes,check for update manual nothing,

  • Pie has released for s8 plus in february why you didnt get it

  • You should check manually in settings software updates

  • Not get latest update,android 9(pie).

  • You're welcome :) I'm sorry for my late reply. I apologise but I didn't completely understand what you were saying but I can see that you absolutely conclude that the issue is with the update. When you wrote "BROWSER IT USED 45% OF BATTERY" Am I reading something wrong? I may of misunderstood. The browser used 45% of battery?

  • this is the link for u r device update download and update u r device

  • Which update?

  • Not get update in S8+,model G955U,any help?

  • Yes it has video stablization

  • Does the S8+ come with video stabilization for video camera? Details are not clearly stated

  • well.. in simple words, the S8 was built to last.. and to save samsung's face after note7 failure

  • between 80 and 90

  • S8 plus

  • Thanks for replay :-) when it was oreo really it was superb. From 100 to 20% i did all time 4g connected youtube+uc browser+ vidmate, total 6hour SOT of used 20% battery remaning. After pie i did same use only 4hour SOT 20% battery remaining. I already notice with oreo WIFI CONNECTIVITY screen used battery % was like 6hour + SOT its used 40% of battery+ uc browser 2hour used 25% of battery+ vidmate used 2 hour 20% of battery like that... AFTER ONE UI 1HOUR UC BROWSER IT USED 45% OF BATTERY + 30 MIN VIDMATE 30% OF BATTERY USED BUT sot 4hour plus only 10% used battery.... ( 😥 wifi connection battery draining with any apps of my s8+) any solution?

  • Should i buy S8plus orr Note 8?

  • Perfect answer

  • I've found the opposite. I would say that there has been an improvement since PIE and certainly after the update. Not dramatic improvement but an improvement but like anyone else I dont use the phone in exactly the same way every single day. One day I will play a game for an hour or too and obviously this will impact SOT, that kinda thing. I would just ask myself some questions if you have not done so already rather than jumping to the conclusion that it's related to PIE. Also bear in mind that not all users will get the same amount of SOT as SOT will depend on what you are doing with the phone from one day till the next, how it's set up, your network etc E.g Are you doing anything different with the phone? Has anything changed? Any apps that you are using more than you were not using before? Same with watching vids, taking pics. Any background activity? If your network signal is worse than before this can have a big impact on battery. Are you in a different location that before most of the time? Have you perhaps adjusted the screen brightness, is it set up auto brightness and you are out in the sunshine more now? Is your phones wifi or location switched on constantly when you are out and about now? Etc etc etc I would also try wipe cache partition too.

  • I think battery is not fulty, with oreo it was far better, after one ui from 1st day it is rerrible, pie sot only 4 hour but oreo was 6 hour plus

  • Thats good

  • I know i also dropped mine on marble floor from 2 foot and a half inch but nothing happened not even a single scratch

  • It's not that fragile. I dropped mine (accidentally) on ceramic tiles, several times, and it didn't break the glass. Just scratches on the side frame. I bought it from UK.

  • Orchid Gray still looks good. got mine 2 years ago, and still in very good condition.

  • How long you are using your phone? maybe your battery is faulty in that case you should replace your battery from samsung authorized store

  • Idk why you are having issues with battery my phone is normal you should try reseting your phone maybe reseting helps

  • After one ui update battery backup get down fast with wifi... but with mobile data its normal... is here something wrong or normal?

  • I want to know that is it that fragile that it can break i heard that it has gorilla glass

  • No my height is 5 foot 5 inches my key fell down so i bend for picking my key and my phone was in my chest pocket so it fell you can say from 2 feet and a half yes i am very lucky

  • Dropped S8 Plus chest height on to a marble floor? Not a scratch? Yeah, you are either very lucky and/or you must be the height of an oompa loompa!

  • And i charge my phone to 100 percent and use it till 30 percent and i am getting 8 hours of sot on 30 percent brightness

  • You should buy s8 plus it has better battery life now it is even better after pie and oneui update

  • It is marble where i dropped my phone but luckily it survived

  • Shd i buy s8 or s8 plus i need reliable advice

  • I get 8 hours sot though my display setting is full hd and on 30 percent brightness maybe ypir brightness is too high it depends on brightness also

  • What kind of surface did you drop it on? Hard to believe with the glass back but that's good.

  • My sot is 8 hours and 20 minutes but on full hd display setting though and my brightness is on 30 percent, before pie on oreo i was getting 5 to 6 hours of sot on this setting but now on pie on this setting i am getting 8 hours and 20 minutes

  • My sot only 4 hour sith pie... battery draining fast with Qhd+ display settings... what yours?

  • No issues now battery is great in oneui

  • I had dropped my phone from chest hieght twice but nothing happened not even a single scratch on it

  • Just don't drop it or you will break the glass.

  • Still hv u Battery issue?

  • s8 plus overall best

  • Go to Samsung online support. In your case, use USA region & do a live chat. Tell them that u want to network unlock your phone since you're in a different country. Otherwise u can get unlocked at some local stores I think.

  • How do I use the unlocked US version (G955U) in a different country? in other words, How do I bypass the regional lock P.S the phone IS NOT locked to specific US carrier

  • Pixel 2 XL best camera.

  • You should buy s8 plus it is the best but only buy new do not buy used

  • I also agree with you s8 plus is great phone

  • S8 plus

  • U have to use protector and cover for sure

  • I agree with ur opinion Anonymous ur ryt da phone z still perfect 2 years..2 android upgrades but still one of the best flagship sofa

  • Need a suggestion should i buy Pixel 2 xl or samsung galaxy s8+ please need honest opinion on it ASAP Thanks

  • If i don't use any screen protector & back cover - will it get scratched over time. I will not put any key with it.

  • Sorry, You didn't answer my question :) and in relation to downloading apps outwith the playstore, I didn't say I do, however I have had issues with apps downloaded from the playstore since you bring it up, so I dont know if what you are saying is correct, please forgive, it just doesn't make sense, sorry, probably just me. So can I ask? If apps in the playstore are issue free, then how come many developers of many many apps on there are regularly updating their apps to address any issues that users ,including myself, discover?

  • It may seem like a really pathetic answer but it really does come down to how you use your phone on a daily basis E.g average time playing games. Using apps inc social media , streaming Netflix over wifi , avg call time, location switched on use as hotspot etc and what conditions? E.g Are you out in the open air in the bright sunshine all day with the screens brightness pumped up most of the day as opposed to indoors in dimly lit room most of the day. Do you have a good network signal? and so on.... the point I'm making is that it may seem a simple question to answer ....and it is for me!! :D..BUT I could tell you I get approx 6 1/2 hours SOT but what would that really tell you other than I get about 6 1/2 hours SOT? Gsmarena do have a calculator that may help you to compare between different models (think you have to click desktop) if the battery is the deal clincher for you. It may help in some way. Personally the phone has been a joy to use and has performed beyond my expectations.

  • You should not install the apps from outside the playstore only download the apps from playstore then you will not face any issues

  • thats great

  • But if you have apps that are draining the battery then they will STILL drain the battery after you have installed them again after doing a factory reset. So what was the point of doing a factory reset if it is an app causing issues?

  • I've had the S8 Plus since launch day and I put my phone on charge more than once a day normally and usually for short periods of time (20 mins here and 30 minutes there) the one thing I dont do is leave the charger on all night. I usually do top up charges throughout the day. I've never had any issues as regards to the battery. The battery has performed very well from day one and I dont recognise many of the alleged issues with the battery. Ok, the battery is not performing as it did when I first bought the phone but I did not expect it to. I have probably lost approx 10% in performance since i got the phone and I'm very happy with that as compared to other smartphones I've had in the past, the battery on the S8 has held up very well in comparison.

  • Do you charge your phone 100 percent or 90 percent

  • it is good phone you should buy but buy new dont buy used

  • I want to buy this fon How long batery drain .. Pls give me answer

  • Yes you are right but if there is battery draining issue then you can do a factory reset if there is too much battery drain because maybe you have too much battery draining apps

  • you know what, am using my s8 plus since 17 months, and my battery still hold well!!95% of it's capacity, see the loss is only 5 % over a quite considerable long period of time!just go through a normal recharging cycle ( from 30- to 85/90 %)

  • Yeah, I was told not to do this with modern batteries.

  • no, no need to go from 100 to 0, old tech

  • How long hour 4 batery drain for 2019.. Because i want to buy s8 plus or a50 more batter batery than s8 plus????

  • i told you just drain your battery to 0 percent and charge it to 100 percent try this problem will be solved

  • with wifi connect battery draining too fast, want solution plz

  • Then you should try updating from sammobile.com you can download and install the latest update from there

  • And you should also drain the battery to 0 percent and turn it off and then charge it to 100 percent it will also help but only once a month

  • Thats good i am glad to know

  • I already did the manual update in settings, but it says that i have the latest update :(

  • ok, i hv done today and its working

  • No i dont think so i have installed april security patch but i didnt noticed any battery drain i also have fd model

  • From my experience the February security patch update has better battery life than the March or April ones. Updates depend on your model. Unlocked G955F/G955FD are the ones getting updated the fastest compared to other models.

  • I have 1st april security patch installed now you should check update manually in settings in software update

  • Because restarting refreshes the ram and overall phone so it is good to restart

  • You should discharge your phone until it turn itself off and charge it 100 percent once a month then you can fix the battery draining problem

  • Since i updated my s8+ back in feb i got pie update and Feb security patch update, since that i haven't got anymore updates like for example security patch, while other Samsung phones like A series getting april and may security patch updates, why?

  • why restart?

  • i m still in pie but my battery draining too fast with wifi, but why?

  • Yes i have with pie it is very smooth and stable with pie specially battery is improved

  • Does anyone have an S8+ with Pie installed?

  • i am suggesting that whenever you charge your phone you restart your phone after charging whether it is day or night

  • I charge my phone every night so are you suggesting that I re-start every day? Seems rather drastic.

  • No optimized mode is best and one advise if you want good performance specially good battery timing you should restart your phone after every charge cycle

  • is it high perform mode or optimization mode... i think high performed mode best for battery

  • Yes you are right when playing high end games or using camera you will get less battery time thats true but in normal usage like browsing or watching videos you can get more battery time

  • i am getting 8 to 8 hours 30 minutes as i said with 30 percent brightness and i am using wifi

  • SOT does not tell the full picture. It depends what you are doing with the phone (from playing high end VR games to simply browsing the net) and how it's set up, factors such as signal strength have big impact on battery too.

  • SOT :- I m getting 5: 30 hours in alltime data mode active... Otherwise 6: 30 hrs max

  • SOT is 8 hours 30 minutes with 30 percent brightness

  • how about the SOT?

  • anonymous mA battery z still Good and very fast on m g955n model..I think it depends how u used it for some time back b4 da update

  • it depends de way u holded it for some time bak.... but my Model g955n da battery z AWESOME on Pie

  • I haven't conducted a scientific test to determine whether the batteries life has either improved or has decreased. That would be very time consuming to do and conditions and usage changes from person to person and from day to day too. All I can tell you is that I'm sitting here quite happy after the update. The battery and the phone itself are still performing very well.

  • is battery life good or bad for the update?

  • I agree, very stable update. I recently the first update for PIE and have no issues as regards to battery. The S8 Plus has been a pleasure to own, really happy with the phone.

  • After pie update and one ui s8 plus is very stable specially the battery is very stable now. it is better then before after pie update. So stop telling lie i observed myself.

  • android pie is bullshit for s8+

  • android pie of s8+ battery issues started... not long lasting

  • da Phone z Amazing with new Android 9 very fast and long lasting Battery...Samsung for real it z da best mostly in software and graphics...Will hold it for 2 years from now....Thanks Samsung for da new Android 9

  • i haven't see any issues yet.

  • is there battery drain issu solved?

  • Ok, i've been using P10 Plus for the last 18months and also had S8+ from work and would go for P10 Plus. The battery life is bettery, the phone is faster, i like EMUI, no malware, very ast fingerprint reader, but sometimes in games like for example, Crossy Road it lags if you play for a longer period. As for S8+, the screen is amazing and it doesn't lag in games at all, but it is a slower in use (a bit) and the battery is worst... They stand very close, but P10 Plus is i my opinion a bit better (unless you really like the screen quality, then S8+ is your choice, as it's much better). Thanks.

  • Today i got another update. 1. Camera stability 2. Monthly Security Patches

  • Guys, i want to buy a new phone between galaxy s8+ and Huawei mate 10 pro, but idk which is better. Can you guys give me advice?

  • Thanks friends

  • Well, that's because MPV is used in the terminal. If you ever used a Linux OS you would know what it means. You can try Pi Music Player Or even VLC

  • Try Musicolet. Free, no ads, no iap.

  • Thanks a lot... MPV sounds good... But too minimalistic.... No eq by the way

  • Yeah, but you can't use it without the headphones like the S9+ can.. Music player? I use MPV to play music in Termux

  • Anyway which music player is best suited for s8 plus..?

  • Guys, Latest update brought me dolby atoms support. Great...

  • me too

  • White or silver shows less...

  • i m still oreo, need battery backup

  • Not better, but is as good as Oreo. I lost only about 30 minutes screen on time. But One Ui is so much faster & beautiful & more modern. Other phones look old compared to Samsung One Ui.

  • Battery Life is better than my aspection

  • really its better battery life?

  • how is the battery backup now ?

  • how is the battery backup after update? is it better then oreo?

  • Welcome to Samsung updates. Random.

  • After two month today i got April security update instead of March security update.

  • I haven't received any security since February of UI. What's wrong?

  • im having this and it work so well

  • Once you go Plus, you won't go back! :)) You can, but you will be still thinking about the big display of the Plus.

  • s8 plus is better with 3500 mh battery capacity

  • Personally I prefer the S8 Plus but it really is down to personal preference. I would try out each phone and see how comfortable they feel in the hand if possible. Another thing to consider is battery and the S8 plus will provide more On Screen Time than its sibling.

  • Hepl me anybody please: wich one I should buy S8 or S8+? 5.8" or 6.2"?

  • Is this an attempt at comedy?

  • Edges are red tint have any solution for that!

  • My S8+ is blue, but you can't tell because I use the a clear view cover (purple one)

  • I would highly recommend a case. If you use a case then colour doesn't really matter and it's all rather subjective anyway.

  • I want to buy this phone new. But which colour is the best? Which colour still looks good after using it a lot?

  • Make a hard reset or wipe cache from recovery. By the way, hard reset DELETES any data you have on the internal memory and restores everything to factory settings, so make a backup first! To enter recovery mode, turn off the phone, then press and HOLD Volume Up + Bixby button + Power button. To navigate in recovery, use the volume buttons. The power button is enter. After that you should have no problems, but it may take a few rounds of charging for it to "settle" and be stable. Hope this helps! ;)

  • I'm addicted to my phone & its good battery doesn't help since it runs for way longer than my s6. What do u guys do to stop using your phone & work/study instead? The s8+ is too beautiful & I can't resist using it. I sometimes have to hide it

  • Care to share with me as to why the OP6 has better cameras overall than the S8+?

  • I compared it & OnePlus 6 photos are way better than s8+. Almost on par with S9+. S9+ beats it by only a small margin in low light. YouTube reviews also agree that op6 camera is almost on par with s9+.

  • Got Pie on my s8+ earlier today. Sm 955U1.. Phone seems fast but battery seems to be draining faster

  • Does one ui update in s8 plus, could play pubg at balanced+ultra?? Thanks

  • no chance:)

  • Where did u get that? OnePlus 6 has better camera than S8+

  • To be honest, I'm not an apple fan. it's OS is too restricted for my needs and taste. But it all depends on what kind of a user you are.. Some find it great, some find it extremely limited..

  • Well, As I have said I will only buy the S9+ again if i sell my S8+ or once i i've recoup my losses from the theft which may not be later this year. Incremental or not it is still an improvement in my eyes. I know the S8+ is better than the OnePlus 6 in the camera department but how about an iPhone 8 Plus? I Is it a good time to buy one?

  • If I were you I'd get the S10+ after the Note 10 is out. The difference between the 8+ and the 9+ are not that big. They both run on 10nm processors, while the 10+ runs on 7/8nm (big difference). You just have to like the punch holes..

  • I will only buy the S9+ again if i sell my S8+ or once i i've recoup my losses which may not be later this year.

  • Can a late 2017-2018 upper mid-range phone or old flagship beat the S8+ in the camera department? Honor View 20? iPhone 8 Plus? Moto G6 Plus? Any suggestions & recommendations please?

  • I see. Looks like Night Mode doesn't use true black background then. It's still good enough though. U can try Substratum & some black themes like Swift Black etc

  • It seems we are both right. The display is somewhat better, but as I pointed out, the menu is not completely black. The color code for black is #000000, while the color used in the Android menu is #080808 It's just that on the S8+ you can tell the difference between the two colors. The screenshot below is taken on my S8+.

  • Wait a few minutes. I'll post a screenshot with both so you can see what I mean.

  • It's black. It's just that the S9+ amoled screen is blacker & better quality than the s8. Samsung mentioned that when the s9 was released.

  • I was holding my S8+ next to my friend's S9+, when I noticed that on my phone the settings menu is not completely black, but dark gray.. Couldn't they use black on the S8+ too? WTF Samsung??

  • Don't buy the OnePlus 6 then! Buy an S9+ again

  • But having an IP rating is still an advantage. And extra confidence. Even if the OP6 support apt-X HD it doesn't have the Dolby Audio enhancement.

  • Even a non water resistant phone will handle some rain. The OnePlus 6 does support aptx hd. It's your Bluetooth device that need to support the codecs.

  • Still stuck on february security update.. Even gsmarena said that update has been released for camera... But nothing received yet.. . Samsung ia busy in making updates for S10 .

  • Is the OP6 safe to use in light rain? Having no Apt-X support may mean slightly poorer audio quality.

  • S9+ plus is just slightly better in low light. Audio quality is good. OnePlus 6 is very optimized & sometimes feels like it's 2 times faster than an S8+. I don't care about ip rating since no phone makers cover water damage even if the phone is waterproof. Just don't drop it in a pool.

  • Better camera in what way? And what about the issue of not being IP rated and so-so audio quality?

  • Yes. The OnePlus 6 is a better device. U won't regret it. The camera is better than s8+, but not better than s9+ though.

  • I had a Galaxy S9+ and then i lost it (got stolen) in Milan on a holiday. Managed to get a cheap Galaxy S8+ (as I still had the old case) but now I feel that I want something new. Something better. My only issues with the OnePLus 6 is the lack of "proper" IP-rating, seemingly poorer audio output (via speakers & connected bluetooth headphones) and...i think that's it. The Galaxy S8+ has now Dolby Audio (tho still with mono speakers) and have IP87 rating. Does the 128GB OnePLus 6 still a worthy buy than the S8+?

  • thanks.

  • Good News! Samsung are aware and there has been an update to improve the camera. Hopefully you will receive it soon :)

  • You'll have to spend a lot if u want cameras this good on a phone. Take the OnePlus 6 over the S8+ without thinking. Get at least the 128GB version. It takes better photos than the s8+

  • I am going mad on what phone to choose next. Talking about their respective hardware, optimisations and the latest updates which phone camera (front & rear) offers more true-to-life colours generally, less tendency to overexpose or underexpose, greater detail, sharpness, less grany & less noisy photos at low light, less noise when zooming in on subjects, much more video stabilization (1080p @30fps, 1080p @60fps & 4K @30fps) and better audio bitrate & clarity recording? OnePlus 6 or the Galaxy S8+?

  • Im using S8+ two weeks & i got 1ui & pie update after start my phone. i just love . Battery, camera & performance are awesome but only downside is rubbish blur pic or mode.

  • Facing severe battery drain on Indian version was happy with oreo but the phone is way faster on pie

  • Assuming that you have mobile data and the update is available for you to download (many people have still not recieved PIE) you should do it in the normal way by going into 'settings' and then selecting 'software update'

  • same question here

  • That explains a lot. Unfortunately the US is one of the last to get the update. The good news is that it shouldn't be too long now.

  • Yeah am in the us and my s8+ is (unlocked)

  • Thanks bro

  • Yeah, I always go for the unlocked too.

  • If you are in the US, many users dont have either.

  • Yes, you will be able to download it in the normal way. Dont worry if the update takes time to come through. The update is not delivered to all S8's at the same time and can take what seems to be a long time to come through. It may be weeks rather than days, so be prepared to wait. The good thing is you will receive the update but it's hard to say when.I myself haven't recieved it (UK Unlocked) and I'm sure that will apply to the vast majority of users out there. Stay Calm And Carry On

  • Guys am still on beta 4 android p, will i get the stable update in settings doing it manually? Or i will have to flash it by using Odin, i really don't want to do that if there's any other method can someone tell me please i would really appreciate it.

  • And this is why I always buy my phones unlocked. Buying through carriers may be cheaper, but as you can see it has it's drawbacks. Also, the unlocked version has less bloatware.

  • No. US and Canada for example, many are still waiting and it will depend on your carrier when you receive the update too. The update will take some time before all units receive the download notification, so be patient. E.g Its rolling out Android Pie to the AT&T and T-Mobile  variants of the Galaxy S8+. This is the same update that rolled out to the Sprint and Boost Mobile variants a few days ago. The rollout has just started, so be patient because Samsung doesn’t release updates to all devices at once, rather, it’s done gradually.

  • Am I the only one who hasn't got pie on the s8+? I have sm G955U.

  • I think it's relevant to what type of a user you are.. Right now I'm using S8+ and my next phone will probably be Xperia 1 especially for that tall display. The only downside on S8+ are the display corners. They are too round and big. Something more discreet would have been better. As for the display ratio, I watch all videos stretched :) You get used to it in less than a minute.

  • Useless curve screen...pic get distorted....text also. 18.5:9 = pdf book reading cumbersome. Sony even walking 21: 9 = Remote like more useless. Every manufacturer should produce 2 varients= 16:9 & 19:9. As we condumer are devided in 2 groups.

  • Of Course, last night i idid it, and it's a beast, my favorite part is how the gestures are

  • Pros: Very fast, reboots very fast, very colorful, high resolution screen that's a joy to look at. I have never seen a screen more vibrant than this one. It generates a wow effect. Cons: Low battery capacity, the runtime is not great given QHD screen with added drain due to more pixels. I use ZeroLemon external charger type battery which helps but you still have to charge it. Curved edges that serve no purpose 18.5:9 screen ratio that does not work well with anything, I prefer 16:9 Non-removable battery Very slick with its glass back and easy to drop. I think the OEM battery has lost some capacity after 1.5 years of usage and I will be replacing it, which is not easy given it's sealed. What a stupid idea. I prefer an older LG V20: Removable battery, 16:9 and no stupid curved edges. It has everything I want and is cheaper.

  • How do you upgrade it to android pie?

  • J7 pro has much better battery life.

  • I think its best to update S8+ to Pie. If you get battery drain just delete cache partition and wait until 3-5 cycle charging battery. Everything will back to normal.

  • Is it Recommended to upgrade my s8+ to Android 9

  • Better late than never, just got One UI on my S8+, sadly Bixby is now more useless than before, it can even turn Mobile Data now, or haven't found the right way to ask it to do it

  • Good news, thanks for your reply :)

  • Iwant to kno its battery life is it good compared to j7 pro ?

  • Thank u for the reply i did hard reset my phone it works

  • After seeing your post I tried 'software update' and there it was.

  • Your English is excellent :) If you call *#0*# (just as if you were making a phone call) it will take you to a menu, now press 'sensor' and then just move your hand over the proximity sensor (at the top of the phone near speaker) if the sensor is working then the screen will turn the from white to the colour green. To exit - just press the back button. Hope this helps

  • Thank u i’ll try

  • Try a hard reset. That should fix it. If it doesn't work, you might have the proximity sensor broken or covered with something.

  • I have a issue: During phone calls the display isn't turn off Any solution? *Sorry for my bad English*

  • Hello friends....you should update android pie...battery life improved with adaptive battery...

  • I want to increase the liudness over supplied akg headphone... Is there Any way ? My previous phones output was 1.5 times of s8 plus. And i was habituated of that. S8 plus output is lower of taste. Thank you

  • Yay! Just got March security update. Installing it now :)

  • Hi Friends, I am a Samsung S8+ (G955F) user and, after software updation to Android 8 (Oreo) it is working very well than Android 7. Recently I got updation notification to Android 9 (Pie). Any S8+ users can advise me whether it is better to update to Android 9 (Pie) or continue with Oreo. Also about battery life and performance after updation to Pie.

  • Hye guys I went to is mi 8 is better than s+ by camera.....I really went to bye a device but I can't set my mind which device should I buy......can I go for mi 8 instead of s8+...the price of two device are same....

  • OKAY. Thanks for this 👍

  • Excellent, I'm delighted for you and it's a story with a happy ending for a change :) I would never of guessed that was the issue hahaha Great stuff, now you can relax and enjoy.

  • I went to the service center today, and they told me to peal of the back protecting film, i did that and all the issues were fixed, turns out that the back panel vibrates when the audio is coming from any speaker and if there is protective film on the back it makes it heavy and the panel vibrates in a bad way, after removing it i pressed the back and did all the testing and it turns out the protective film was the issue. Hope this helps everyone.

  • S8+. Better battery. You'll be disappointed with Note 8 battery life like most Note 8 owners.

  • Guys, I'm stuck between the S8 plus and the note 8. Factors I'm really considering are the battery life, ease of use, display and then maybe the camera. Thanks!

  • I completely understand why you would want a replacement (new) or a repair. I think many people would want exactly the same. Whether or not you are entitled to a replacement will come down to the terms and conditions. E.g it may say that you are entitled to a refund or replacement for a period of 30 days. Then you lose that right. That does not mean that a company can go above and beyond what they are obliged to do under consumer law, you may find that Samsung or the retailer you bought the phone from will indeed replace your device with a new one. So best thing to do is approach the retailer that you bought the phone from E.g Samsung or Shop. I find that face to face contact is usually best and to remain calm certainly helps too but that is just my opinion. Be rest assured that if you have to get a repair, your phone should still be as advertised when you purchased the phone I.E it will still have the same IP rating. Also by just repairing the phone, this should not have an adverse effect on resale price either. The phone will remain under the guaranteed and all repairs therefore are also guaranteed. First thing first approach them and see what happens. The worst that happens is that you have to get the phone repaired BUT it will still have the guarantees and same IP rating as before. That is the worst thing to happen. Who knows they might just hand over a new phone, even though you are not entitled to it. Check T&C's before approaching to know where you stand legally though is always a good start.

  • I HAVE A HUGE ISSUE: I have noticed that when i have the clear view case on the audio from the front earpiece get distorted as if something is touching the speaker and same with the loud speaker. I took the case off and it fixed the issue. But now i have pin pointed the issue, when ever even a little bit of pressure is applied to the back middle part of the phone it disports the front earpiece and if i press harder then it distorts and changes the audio of both the loud speaker and the earpiece so now i have decided to take this phone to warranty tomorrow, BTW i purchased this phone new 3 months back and its in warranty but i dont want them to repair it i want them to replace the whole device as if they open and repair the device it will destroy the resale value of the phone and it will also no longer be water proof also i did not even once took it near water or dip it in water so it has no water damage, I want a new phone as i paid full retail price for a working device and i expect to get a NEW working device not a repaired one.

  • S8+. Better battery life

  • Which is better, s8 or s8+?

  • Direct me to a site, similar to this, that declares that everything is 100% guaranteed to contain accurate information only. And if you are talking about this section, that you have posted in, then its marked down as 'read opinuons' I would not expect gsmarena to be held accountable for the validity of our arguments or opinions or for any information that we claim to be true, they endorse. The fact is that gsmarena is a well respected site. And no I dont work for them. The truth is that it's one of the, if not THE website I turn to first, time and time again.

  • YES

  • As the page says : Disclaimer. We can not guarantee that the information on this page is 100% correct....then no need of this page or website....

  • Hi to all at gsmarena. I suggest to update the Samsung S8+ information since its upgradable to Android 9.0 PIE and 1.0 UI, just like the S9 models Note 8 and Note 9 models too. Phone is still great and I like the Android 9.0 PIE on it. I don't like very much the recently used apps look on Android 9.0 Even on my Huawei Mate 10 PRO, looks a bit similar to Apple devices and multi window option it's a bit of struggle on my S8+ . I liked the card stack look better.

  • is this phones camera better than huawei p10+ ?

  • I Can't argue with that. *imagine a little emoji thumbs up thingy inserted here* the S8 Plus was a great phone back in 2017, I STILL love it now. offers great value, especially at the price you can pick it up for right now. *imagine a little emoji thumbs up thingy inserted here*

  • if i may set a conclusion here for all the people with average budget to get a decent flagship from 2017 in 2019 go for the s8/s8+ as it really feels amazing with android pie , price now is around 350 to 450 USD and it will serve you somehow the same like a S9 or even the Note 9 in some ways. I'm sure there is a lot of brands which offers better specs with cheaper price Tag so it is up to the user what he/she wants and it is up to the person to dream to have a S10 specs on a 100 USD smartphone. Have a great day ahead to all the readers.

  • Yes dear scene optimizer is not available on the S8+ with one UI , still the phone feel flawless and better responsive.

  • No scene optimizer in camera. But One Ui is much faster than previous versions & has good battery life. I like it a lot.

  • Yeah, I think the S8's are fantastic too. I didn't intend to hold onto the phone for so long (bought at launch) very impressed. I might consider buying the one of the s10's myself later on in the year. Really good to get your feedback on the new update, havent downloaded it yet myself. Appreciated :) Your post was full of positivity which is always good to see.

  • Do your S8+'s camera get scene optimizer after update to pie?

  • After the update the phone is superb, I own the note 9 as well and both phones are similar now respectively the H/W difference, update your phones and you will be satisfied for sure. I'm waiting to test the s10 physically in a store once available to convince myself if I should upgrade my beloved s8+ to a s10

  • Ok, like you I have read on many sites that the new update is 1.6gb. I have seen a few people (including on the s8 forum on gsmarena) posting that they have recently received the February Security Patch in the last few days, but do not yet have One UI PIE. When I saw that the One UI PIE update I received which includes the February Security Patch weighed in at 1.6gb, I thought that was a possible explanation.

  • No My last security patch before update was Januari too

  • Is anyone here from Malaysia get android Pie update already?

  • Sorry Rajawali, I don't know as I have not installed it yet, going to delay installing for a bit. It is just over 1.6 gb in size compared to your 1.2gb download though. As regards to the difference in size of the DL. I am still on the 1st January patch, you may of already received the February patch before you installed the new update and that might explain the difference in size of the download compared to mine. Sorry I was unable to help you at the moment regarding the camera.

  • Do You get scene optimizer on your camera?

  • Thanks, I just received the update today although I have not downloaded yet and I'm in no hurry tbh, will wait for you guys to do a bit of testing out the new update on my behalf first haha :D) Really appreciate people like yourself providing feedback on your experience. Thanks again :)

  • Indonesia (XSE) Indonesia (XID)

  • That is quite normal. I just got the update today in the UK although other users received it before me in the UK. There will be differences in your csc code for example. Should not be too long now , don't panic :)

  • Overal i'm quite satisfied with Pie on S8+. I got Pie yesterday afternoon 5th March around 15:00. After update you'd feel that battery is draining more then the stable Oreo, but after 1-2 cycle of charging you'd feel improvement. I could stand for 1 days moderate usage and 2 days just a little usage on Oreo. I had quite lot of contacts and when i tried to pressed number it tooks some times around 2 - 3 secs to show the name of the contact. But on pie much faster. 1 think that i dont like from the camera you've to slide to video tab to start a video, on Oreo take a picture button and video button in 1 window. 1 think there is no scene optimizer on S8, i saw some youtuber review about S8 on pie. Scene optimizer only available on Note 8, S9 series. Actualy when you'd like to update from the changelog it's written that there'd be a scene optimizer for the camera. But there's no little icon for scene optimizer on the top right of the screen like on Note 9 or even on the menu like Note 8. The file that I'd to download around 1.2 GB, what i read from the review should be around 1.6 GB. AOD tap to show is available Night mode is available New bixby which is much faster responce I feel that irish recognition is worse compare to Oreo

  • well im from indonesia too but i didnt get any update to Pie ?? :((

  • Indonesia. When update the file that i've to download only 1.2 GB.

  • From what country are you ? I ask because i didnt recieve any update yet...

  • I've updated to Pie. I just feel batery drain. But let see after 2-3 cycle charge. Please tell me anyone who already update to Pie, is there scene optimizer and flaw detection on your S8?

  • I would take s8+ but it's your choice.

  • Go to the App info of these apps. Then battery & Allow background activity

  • After update to pie i feel the multi tasking has gone worse.. now i cant have 2 apps in background more then a minute or so, i switch from one to other and the other shortly dies and i must start it again, why ? i never had this issue before, almost 900mb left so there is no reason it cant have 2 apps in background ? i dont get it.. other then that new update runs good..

  • I cant really decide.please suggest me Which one should I go for mi8 or galaxy s8+?

  • I don't have either. Still on January 1st security. Should not be too long now.

  • Update for UK ??

  • U kidding me ,right?It's like...Ferrari or a Hyundai....

  • S8+ Buy new. Not used

  • Hi, I'm planing to buy S8+ and how should I check the phone is genuine and a good version? TIA

  • Plz suggest this one or xiaomi mi 8???

  • My phone feels faster than before just like a new phone. One Ui is awesome. Those who face battery issues should just clear dalvik cache in the stock recovery. (Power off - Then hold Power + Volume Up + Bixby button & release Power button when Samsung appears) They can also let their battery die to 0% & charge it to 100% at least 2 times to recalibrate the battery since Pie brought Device Health Service from Google. Battery will improve over time.

  • received Pie and UI 1 in India,,,awesome

  • i got one ui. awesome experience.

  • Ask samsung obviously.

  • you can see it on samsung member

  • Do a hard reset before the update if you don't want battery problems.

  • Pie in Romania

  • Africa, Kenya

  • May i know when will Malaysia get android pie for s8+???

  • Can I found a list with date when update come from each country ?

  • in which country did you receve the pie update for the galaxy s8 plus?

  • may i know your region? my region is uae and not getting yet one ui.

  • Just received pie update yesterday. I clicked the software update option and there it was, my phone is G955FD dual-sim, so far so good battery life is good, I love the dark mode having used oneplus for long, mine seems faster(but maybe it"s me), there is a new feature under advanced features called 'reduce animations' i switched that on. overall i'm enjoying the one UI. The gesture control is amazing(will help to prevent screen burn in also), so is the multi tasking app arrangement i prefer it this way easier. I came straight from Oreo the update was about 1660mb

  • G955U does have radio

  • How is battery after Pie update please ?? For normal user (not heavy)

  • If you're only rooted, then yes. U will lose root after updating ota though

  • I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy s8+, will I still get the Android 9 update even though the phone is rooted

  • Sorry, probably just me but didn't fully understand the question. I should also point out I have not taken part in the Beta. According to Sammobile see below. Hope it helps :) "Those on the Galaxy S8 beta program can download this latest release over-the-air by tapping Software update in the Settings app and selecting the Download and install option. The update weighs 470 MB" Its G950FXXU4ZSB9 for the S8   G955FXXU4ZSB9 for the S8 Plus.

  • question? even if we install the beta update, can we still update it manually? i have the beta update #3.

  • 4th Beta Update has just been released. Should not be too long now before the full version is released. If I were a betting man I'd say March although reputable sites are saying it could be this month. When PIE is finally released it will take time to roll out across all regions as it did with Oreo so do take that into account too.

  • "After that my phone was fixed I've noticed a little gap in the joints of my phone" I would go straight back to Samsung if I were you.

  • Any info about android 9 for S8 ??

  • Honestly, I also experienced the same, when I opened the front camera, there's a tiny black spot on the screen. Though it was blurred, but still noticeable, so I brought my phone to Samsung Service Center and they told me that it was due to the camera issue and they fixed it. After that my phone was fixed I've noticed a little gap in the joints of my phone. I was actually worried that it may affect the IP rating of my phone that it will no longer serve as IP68 anymore. so sad. All I thought that this is just an isolated case, but now that I know plenty of us experienced the same, isn't it about time to call Samsung's attention to address this issue?

  • Sounds like it could be a dead pixel. Take it in to Samsung for an opinion.

  • my cousin had the same problem their is a circle on the front camera and he has a screen burn on it it seems like this phone gets these issue overtime :(sad):

  • Do you have any idea of That Black spot on screen? There is a black spot on My cousin's S8+ and he is worried. Is the black spot safe or isn't?

  • not at all. It works perfectly fine

  • If the dot is black, no need to worry as it won't grow any further. Just avoid putting pressure on the phone.

  • I also bought one yesterday. Don't know about the root issue but I am having an issue with its screen. 1/3rd of its screen is a bit tinted as compared to the other 2/3rd. Are you having the same issue too?

  • They obviously do not have the phone because it absolutely does not lag.

  • I just bought a used Samsung Galaxy s8 plus but it seems the phone is rooted, is there a way to unroote it?

  • There is a Dark Circle on top right screen of the S8+,Any Idea is this bad does it get worse or something or it's just a circle??

  • No. It's not slow mobile phone at all. Buy it. You won't regret.

  • I just put my s8 plus in water and the headphone jack has stopped working what could be the problem?

  • Hi guys I am planning to buy Samsung galaxy s8+ my friends says this phone is very slow and lag this is true or not tell you guys

  • I think you should purchase Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. It is a great phone......but still it depends on you wether you are a Samsung fan or Huawei fan.

  • Go blindly for the S8+ it's a great phone.

  • Are you serious? Definitely the S8+ and that's not just because I have it :) It's taller and it has a better display, better IP rating.

  • S8 plus . Or. Mate 10 pro ????? Both cost the same price in my country

  • Just hope it doesn't. The new UI is absolutely horrible, especially the status bar icons.

  • I've had my Samsung Galaxy S8+ for a while and one phone that comes to mind next is the Sony Xperia XZ2. I need to ask questions of comparison on: 1. Which has a faster fingerprint scanner? 2. Which has a louder overall speakers sound output & clarity? 3. Which is compatible/capable of fast charging? 4. Which has a lossless (or near lossless) digital zoom photo quality in the rear camera? 5. Which has an option for wide-angle selfie? 6. Which has a more natural-looking (warmer tone) selfie camera? Better portrait/bokeh? 7. Which does better image and video stabilization & better audio (higher bitrate) in video? 8. Which does better overall in low-light/night shots? Cheers everyone.

  • Sounds like a network issue tbh I.E your carrier. That's where I would start. Have you considered that?

  • did anyone faces a drop in signal ....sometimes I can't make any phone call ??!!

  • After the new update my s8+ got slower and reboting itself. Some times while changing its showing mouisture detected. Some apps are closing

  • I have got to say it is a great phone. It supports all games and apps however the screen scratches too easily and speaks are not that great but apart from that it is great

  • I should point out that the S8's have had a third Beta update just a couple of days ago but as per the article all sources seem to be expecting the roll out to start later this month.

  • :)

  • Gsmarena are saying February and Sammobile the same. The Beta has just had a recent update. BUT and it is a BIG BUT If the update to Oreo was anything to go by it did take a while to roll out to all regions when it was finally released and they had to pull it after just a short period after releasing Oreo the last time and try again. I'm pretty sure they won't want to repeat that again. So hopefully fingers crossed shouldn't be too long but hey tbh I'm in no real hurry personally.

  • Hello , someone know about when s8 plus will recive android 9 update ?

  • Understood and I didn't think you were knocking the phone. I was curious to know how the condition occurred. No problem.

  • My battery drains very quickly... Only after 1 year of use my s8 plus Screen on time is only 4:30 hr now which was 6:30 hr earlier.. I take great care of my phone and applied all the tricks i know.. Same thing occurred with my Samsung galaxy Note 2. Bye Samdung Forever....i m trying to sell it now.

  • I hope you know what I mean :) So the map yeah it might be moving but on the screen there might be little buttons you interact with that are on the screen that are static even though yes the map is moving. .. Think of an uber driver for example, using for long periods at a time. As I've said I've never had the problem, well not that I've ever noticed anyway and I say that because it can be very difficult to spot. I don't really go looking for it tbh. I would gladly buy another Samsung display without a second thought they are incredible. So please don't think I'm knocking the phone. I have been blown away by the S8 plus and still really happy with it, nearly 2 years later. Best phone I've ever had and the longest I've ever kept a phone for.

  • Yeah, I see what your saying haha I should of been more clear, it's a bit hard to explain but it can be caused by (and this could be any app/game) the User interface. You know like little buttons that you interact with that are permanently on the screen as the app is on. Dunno if that makes sense and sorry I genuinly don't meant to come across as patronising if it comes across that way.

  • Now I understand. Thanks. But surely if you're using your phone as GPS the screen would be moving and not static.

  • I can accept minimal curved screen corners but this one has a massive curved screen corners, unfortunately it doesn't looks gorgeous than squared display.

  • No worries dude, enjoy your phone :-)

  • am sorry my mistake i forgot to say that it was a beta update, my bad guys, but yes i saw the second beta update and it took very nice pictures its amazing the front facing camera got improve as well, you guys who own s8 will be very happy about that.

  • A user could be using the phone for long periods and on a daily basis e.g using as navigation in the car with static images on the screen for example. That kind of thing.

  • I've used a lot of Samsung phones in the past with amoled displays like: S6 edge+, S7 edge, Note FE, S8 and now the Note 8 and never had any screen burn issues on any of them and they all had been a pleasure to use. I always use auto brightness so the screen adapts the lighting conditions without stressing the display. Yeah you're right people using full brightness might be facing screen burn issues.

  • Most people who have burn in screen always use maximum brightness with no auto. All amoled screens will have this after about 1 year if u always use maximum brightness. Just use 50% & auto brightness. So never use full brightness constantly on any phone as well. Even lcd screen will have bleeding issues after about 1-2 years on constant full brightness. And the battery will also degrade faster since the phone also heats faster

  • S8 Plus or HUAWEI Y9 2019 Since Mate 20pro and s10 series are way over 900USD. I am stuck between the Huawei y9 2019 and this s8 Plus. My major concern here is battery life and the larger screen, so which one do you guys think I should get now until the top-end Flagship prices drop. How does the Huawei Y9 compare to s8 plus in battery usage?

  • Pie update?? When did that happen?? It was supposed to arrive in February or March.

  • Ok very interesting. When you refer to brightness surely your screen shuts down after some time or is it on 24/7. I've set mine to shut down after one minute. It's also set to about 80% brightness level and is not on auto brightness.

  • Yeah if you're using a very bright setting with a static image over a period of time you run the risk of screen burn in. Have to say I've never had the issue myself. But to say it never happens or is only restricted to fake phones is not true. On what could be a positive note, there seems to plenty of evidence that it's covered under warranty as I've checked the forums.

  • have you guys notice, the s8 after android pie update it seems like it takes way better pic now, i mean overall it takes great pic, but it seems like the camera just got even better.

  • i had an s8+ g955f and it wasn't a copy and yes it had burn screen, i dont know why but after doing research, i found out that its not good to keep you phone at full brightness you need to rest it, at least overnight in other words keep the brightnest low level or shut it off, well on the s8 series that was the first time something like that ever happened to me, i think its not all s8 but some of them.

  • No. Only on fake copies.

  • burn screen?

  • S8 Plus has better battery life than the Note 8. Just go to forums to see comparisons.

  • Go for the Note 8, I bought it last week and it's a great phone, battery life easily lasts for over a day with 6 GB RAM, dual cameras (telephoto lens with looseless zoom) and s-pen.

  • Definitely note 8.

  • S8 Plus better

  • Which one is better samsung galaxy s8 plus or note 8 in terms of battery life

  • A new phone is better & the pocophone is faster than s8+. Just buy the pocophone f1 if you're tight on cash. Don't buy a used phone

  • Which phone should I buy if my budget is around $300 - $400 (php 15,000 to php20,0000) ? s8+ (used) pocophone f1 (I have issues with the build and notification bar bug though) honor play or any recommendations?

  • Hi guys, I'm from the Philippines. I would like to know if this phone is still worth it. I'm looking for a from that has great camera, good speaker, great screen, good for gaming, good battery life, etc. Should I just buy some new mid ranger phones like Honor play or Pocophone f1? Also, If I decide to buy the s8+ should I go for a used device or save up for sealed/brandnew phone? I mean does used device prone to some lag issues or batt issues since its updated to pie (coz I heard some issues with the pie update like batt drain) Thanks

  • Poco F1 has better battery, processor and bit more durable.... Other all things, s8+ is best

  • Got the January 1st security patch yesterday. Funny thing is my friend has S9+, bought from the same Samsung store, both phones unlocked, but he still didn't get the update.

  • Samsung Galaxy S8plus is better

  • Hello guys i bought s8 plus fd model but I can't install Oreo update after downloading send report error o.27 option is appear I send report but every time this option is appear please anyone knows what I do???

  • No comparison, S8+ is miles ahead.

  • Either pocoF1 or Samsung galaxy S8+ which phone is better, Thanks

  • It's a very good choice since the price of the S8+ has immensely gone down after the S9 release. It's a superb phone and has everything you want in a smartphone.

  • is its battery life better than one plus 6? which is better phone?

  • Yes. Better than the regular S8

  • What's about it battery back up? Is its battery life better than s8?

  • S8+ has better battery life, but some minor lags sometimes compared to regular s9

  • Which one has long battery life, faster, better not laggy, S8+ or S9 (non plus)?

  • Just shake your phone. The problem lies on the autofocus sensor being stuck. A common issue with cameras with small lenses.

  • Tap any finger slightly under the camera lens.problem Will be solved.l feaced same issue with my s8 plus

  • My s8plus back camera is full blur nothing to see clearly what is the problem can some one tel me

  • No need to wait for advise you missed phone buy it .

  • Dear Friends, I am planning to buy Samsung Galaxy S8+ , Please advise me

  • Reading it on my samsung a7 2015 {3yrs 2 months old}

  • It's a nice phone

  • Dear wait for new updates..

  • You nailed it bro

  • Give the camera lens a tap with your fingers. Should be ok.

  • after the last updates I start to feel the battery life not good like before !!! is this a common problem or my mobile start to be old ?

  • Yar my s8plus back camera is full blur I can't see any thing plz some one tell me what's the problem

  • LOL ... you made my day

  • i do not have this big company thinking about their products, Poor of Software Development Poor of Software Update fast when buy a new phone but use a few month will laggy .........................................

  • No. Only one Jio sim can be used

  • Bro, just update and then next update will automatically show. Keep updating untill u get the latest 😊

  • When u change the wallpaper, on the top options come for home screen, lock screen or both. Select what u want 😊

  • I can change the wallpaper...but can't of lock screen. Anybody to share ur short tips to do it...? Thank j .

  • This phone is very good. I've bought a new one in february and still rocks. No lags at all, camera is wonderful, battery life too. If you can afford buy it. You won't regret.

  • I knew it!!! i knew time travel was real

  • I've used this phone since launch and as regards to battery degradation I'm very happy with how the phones battery has held up. As regards to lag my experience is such that I have came to the conclusion that these stories of lag are completely blown out all proportion and are not a true reflection of how the S8 or the S8's perform from day today. Much of it is all crap. In short- Don't believe everything you read.

  • Sorry mate. We are still in year 2018. We have another few more days to see 2019.

  • Hi, I'm planning to buy a galaxy s10 next year. I have never used a Samsung phone before. I was about to buy iPhone XS max last month but after knowing about the S10 I thought of trying it out. So my question to all the Samsung users is that how much is the longevity of Samsung smartphones? When do the issues like battery degradation, laggy performance etc start to occur? and when does the phone totally feels outdated? with iPhones I know if I get the latest one now, I won't have to worry for at least 3 yrs. What about Samsung? I do not want to change the phone for at least 2.5 to 3 years. Should I go for S10? Thanks

  • Create a folder called 'media' in the root folder of your phone. Create an 'audio' folder in it. Create another 'ringtones' folder in it & copy your music in it. It'll appear in the ringtones list

  • I am unable to you musical songs in my folder as ringtone. it keeps asking me to upload into 'my drive'

  • I'm using Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus since September 2019 and I am highly satisfied with this. How can I upgrade my operating system 7.0 (Nougat) to 8.0 (Oreo). When I search update it shows already updated, but it's 7.0 not 8.0.

  • Go into Setttings, Notifications, and select email and gmail for notification alerts.

  • S8 Plus! It has better battery life than both the regular S8 & Note 8.

  • I receive email notifications the moment they're send on my S8, using it since 6 months, this rejection is so hilarious!!

  • Which is better s8 or note 8

  • I have a very bad experience with Samsung Galaxy S8+. I and all the people around me having S8 or S8+ doesn't receive notifications about new emails in Gmail and it's Email app (I think both are Gmail). That is my main problem. I have others too. Not few, but that is most important. Will not buy Samsung anymore.

  • From your comments, it seems u like the Mate 10 Pro. Buy it. Don't confuse yourself by comparing with the s8+ There's only little difference between the 2. Just buy the Mate 10 Pro & be happy!

  • I am getting Mate 10 Pro from Dubai at almost $370 USD. Is it worth buying? S8 Plus is almost $400. Mate 10 Pro in Midnight Blue is also the sexiest handset. Also have more ram, rom, dual camera. Graphics quality is almost the same with minor difference because of FHD+ resolution in Mate 10 Pro. Actually I'm confused between Mate 10 Pro and S8 Plus.

  • If u're planning to use the phone for 2 more years, get the Mate 10 Pro. If not, then get the S8 plus for cheaper. Choose the phone u find more beautiful & comfortable to hold & use. The screen colors can be adjusted & they're both pretty similar. The S8 plus is one of the best & sexiest phones I've used.

  • I've the S8 and love it. Screen is superb much better than my previous S6 edge+ camera is top class, amazing in fact I haven't used the camera so much in any of my previous phones than S8.

  • 128gb is enough for me dear. Besides this, it will be a good decision to skip S8 Plus and to buy Mate 10 Pro? Colors are bit dull as compared to S8 Plus, but still crispy.

  • Get the Mate 10 pro as it'll get updated to Android 10. It has better battery life. Only downside is that it doesn't have microsd

  • Guys S8 plus or Huawei Mate 10 Pro? In terms of display, camera, battery etc. Honest suggestion please.

  • Does S8+ have dual VoLTE stand by?. That is 2 jio SIM standby at a time?.

  • I can't be able to off it have searched it everywhere

  • Search Flash Notifications in Settings & turn it off if it was on

  • My galaxy S8 plus camera flash automatically start to on it self even wen I off and on it is will be steady on. Pls can someone advice me on what to do about it

  • I am using my S8+ for 1 and a half year and my charger is working very good, like new. Learn how to use a charger !

  • I have been using an S8+ since last year and for the past year i have changed my charger three times and is very expensive, please improve

  • Lol @ 3310 dwl.....I just order my new s8+ havent recieve it as it.I think i am going to love it

  • Am using s8 + from this month . I am very much impressed by it's battery life . Am getting 8 hours screen usage(sot) with 2 days standby time, using Facebook, whats up ,browsing and shopping app like flipkart Amazon and watching YouTube videos .I am not a gamer . Using camera battery drain bitt faster . Off line movie watching of one hour just use 6% Battery YouTube one hour or browsing 9% on 4g . Good camera , no lags

  • one plus 6t

  • Thanks for Your advice. I just get used to Samsung phones. I don't like to change my mobile phone very quickly... But thanks for Your reply. It really helps me...

  • buy Nokia 3310 100x better.

  • did any one face the sensor blocking issue since the device got updated on new software, if yes!! please let me know how to get rid out of this problem, therefore i bought a new s8+ but after updated the new software its main screen sensor stop doing work, furthermore now its become a scarp for me.

  • S8+ is better than a8+. Even your s7 is better than an A8+. But S8 will receive its last major update next year Android Pie 9.0 Get an S9 if u get a good deal. Or buy a OnePlus 6. It's faster than s8, gets fast updates & is almost the same price. It's an excellent phone & very reliable. Get the OnePlus 6 if u want to keep the phone longer.

  • Hi Guys, Can you help me to decide what phone should I pick. Samsung Galaxy S8+ or samsung A8+ (2018). Or may be other model. Now I'm using Samsung Galaxy S7 edge for more than 2 years and I'll continue using it, if I don't drop and break the screen just the day before my birthday. I'm looking for big screen, camera, memory and battery. I'm not into gaming. I hope to use the new phone much longer, so hope the model will have the latest updates. Thanks.

  • i just love my s8+

  • There Are Lots Of Difference In S7 And S8 1. Infinity Display 2. Better Processor Then S7 14nm To 10nn 3. Better Front Camera 4. Usb 2.0 To Type C 5. Irris Scanner / DeX Support 6. May Get Android P Latest And Greatest From Google While This Beauty Stuck On Android 8 Hope You Get The Answers Ryte... :)

  • Doesn't look like, may be early 2019.

  • Android 9 on samsung s8 + this year ?

  • Try cleaning out the port and perhaps try another cable with the charger if you have not done so already. If problem persists then take it into a service centre is my advise.

  • S8+ all the way

  • Galaxy s8+ or huawei mate 10 pro guys?

  • I've had mine for 3 months now and not a scratch. I do have it in a transparent flip case and I never dropped it so far. Seems to me you guys have very slippery hands and some gripping issues lmao :)) Use your opposable thumbs people!

  • mine is also updated upto the October security patch but i haven't encounter the problem you're stating. have you check if you have a faulty cable or adaptor?

  • Exactly, why buy glass phone, it is going to break easily for sure! Would you eat with glass spoon!?

  • Question guys,. Ive got the latest update this October 27 of s8+, something went wrong with the fast charging capability, before it tooks 2hrs to fully charge, now it tooks whole midnight? Please help to resolve this Thanks

  • I am galaxy s7 user. If i compare s7 with s8 plus .. i dont see much differences in terms of camera processor ram. Can anyone give me a genuine review that hiw s8plus differ from s7. I want to purchase s8plus. Also give gaming review.

  • Please tell me why no green LED light is ON when your s8+ is charge. only 100% charging,, not fully charged,, latest update is also install, 1 oct 2018.. in menu *#0*# all LED lights are working..

  • your pathetic, try to hit it with the brick

  • Screen is made from eggshell... No matter what case you have you will brake it if you drop it. Changed screen 3 times every time phone was in Samsung protective case, last time it was in cover case which opened just before phone hit the ground. Actually i dropped phone few times before i even used any case and it was fine :| Anyhow apart from this issue, phone is great, battery life is insane, performance also. just wish they used more robust glass for screen. Photos are great, super slow-mo is amazing during the day. As i was went from stock Android to Samsung version, software is somewhat ugly and non functional but you can get used to it over time.

  • Hi, I'm from Malaysia.

  • Try doing a hard reset first, then update your phone again and see if it works. Usually a hard reset is recommended before an update instead of a "dirty flash" which can lead to bugs and hiccups.

  • The update isn't for stickers which I seldom use but for AR Emoji's which didn't function despite the huge data consumption. The September and October updates is over 1gigabytes yet no AR emoji on my Samsung S8+. I feel cheated.

  • Mate 10 Pro far better then S8+ go for it ..

  • Frankly, I've uninstalled a LOT of apps from my S8+ including the sticker apps which have those features. I'm not 12 to use silly stickers in my photos..

  • Hello, I have also received the October software update but yet to make an update cos I need to be sure it would work. What country are you based? Am from Nigeria in Africa.

  • You need to take care of your device as all the glass phones are fragile. I've a tempered glass and an ultra slim mirror flip case on my S8, it not only protects the phone but looks good too.

  • After the S9 series.

  • I've an S8 and after updating it to the October security patch I got the super slow motion & AR emoji features on the camera.

  • Mate 10 pro or Galaxy s8+ ?

  • android pie update???

  • No I won't call you a geek but you are certainly smarter than me. I have no idea what a terminal app is. Think I belong in the stone age lol

  • Hello, made a camera software update for my s8+ but the expected features like slow motion and emoji didn't reflect. Anyone having same issue?

  • Because I want administrator access instead of guest mode, so I can delete or add anything I want to the OS. Also I want a fully functional terminal app and that requires su. Not everyone using a SMARTphone is into posting selfies on fb and playing silly violent games.. Call me a geek, I don't care :)

  • Protect your phone with a decent fold over cover. All glass covered phones are fragile and accidents can always happen.

  • Why do you want to root your phone. What's wrong with the way it is.

  • Last night I got a new security update for my S8+, BUT I didn't install it yet because it says I won't be able to downgrade to a previous software version due to security reasons. I bet that if I upgrade, then I won't be able to root my phone, so I won't do it..

  • Mine fell from 1 feet height and cracked the screen.so much fragile.

  • Thank u. I shall wait for next update

  • Bloody #Hangsung. I will never buy another phone that bear the name Samsung on it..

  • Sorry I really can't help you. I assume that you have turned your phone off and restarted it so that it will reset. Other than that I would suggest going to a service centre.

  • Thanks for your kind reply. I find no notification of anything. It started after last update.

  • Are you certain there is no message being received through any source e.g. Messenger, Whats'App, Viber etc or even an email.

  • My s8 plus random vibrates without any cause ( without any notification). Very annoying... Anybody facing ? & What's the fix ?

  • No. The S8 Active is more robost if you can get it but like others have said I would recommend a case.

  • No glass phone is unbreakable. You need protection like a tempered glass & case.

  • Drop it from a height of 10cm & it breaks lol. As long as phones use glass sandwiches, it'll break

  • Is that true this phone is unbreakable?

  • i am using Samsung evo 64 GB class 10. its best.

  • SanDisk Extreme Pro is currently the best microsd card. It's usually black & red in color

  • Thanks ....but there are 2 types of SanDisk White and Gray and Red and Gray ...which one should I pick ?

  • I have a sandisk sd card on it 128GB is enough for taking pictures and video I haven't even reach 50% of it but it depends on what you do and what you put into your sd card. I mostly put music that I downloaded with the exemption of spotify and games that are big on space I transfer it to the card so that I can use my phone space for android purposes only/ small apps. I have no problem with the card as far as I see it.

  • what is the best microSD for S8+ ?

  • I have s8 plus too. And I am sure there aren't even 50 apps. 500 apks is extremely exaggerrated. If you include system apps and services, there might be a couple hundreds, but all smartphones(both android and ios including pixels) have these services as smartphones are not as simple as you might think. And they don't affect battery life much(may be 1% in 24 hours). Getting theme creator means you can freely upload themes in galaxy store. What samsung did is good, to prevent low quality themes in galaxy theme store. Samsung disable third party fonts for security reasons.

  • does it fast pls for an opinion

  • Wow thanks for that Alien. I'm not as brave as you so I'll take it slowly and hopefully all will be good. Thanks again much appreciated.

  • Basically I've clicked on every app and pressed disable on the ones that had it available. Important apps don't have it available so don't worry, nothing bad will happen. It's trial and error, as sometimes you can disable things and apps like always on display will force close, but that won't affect the OS. Also most of them say what they are. Worst case scenario, again worst case scenario, you turn off your phone and press bixby + volume up + power button. This will take you into recovery mode where you can hard reset the phone and bring it back to it's initial state.

  • My s8+ is little bit hang can any one tel me why

  • I really love this fone great camera great performance great battery timing exactly the fone i was looking for But i have a fear of its screen as my previous experiece in galaxy note 5 i used almost 4 fones and all of them have same issue the screen gets filled by purple colored something

  • Thanks again.

  • Disable the ones that can be disabled & u don't use. It's safe

  • Ok thanks but I thought that the reference was related more to Samsung pre-loaded apps. They are the ones I am more concerned about.

  • Disable apps u don't use. Usually apps that can be disabled won't damage your phone

  • How do you know which apps to disable. I've been into my apps settings but would not have a clue what some of them do. I am wary of wrecking my phone by disabling the wrong app.

  • I've had the S8 Plus since launch and not seen any major deteriation in battery. I couldn't say the same thing about my Galaxy S6 Edge. If you do a quick search the R&D guy from Samsung said that the S8's battery would not deteriate at the same rate as it's predecessors. Sure he said 5% over 2 years, compared to S7 20% over 2 years.

  • If your problem is legit and you are not yet another troll then I don't see what the issue is as it will just be a small fraction on S8 Plus phones that develop a fault. You are getting it fixed, what's the problem. So if I were to do a search, can you guarantee me that I will not find any Huawei phones that have developed a fault?

  • After 2 months of normal use it has started to restart every 1 minute, have checked for solutions online, have made all of them but nothing. Will have to get it to service and sell it after that. On the meantine, back to reliable Huawei!

  • I've had my S8+ for about 2 weeks now and the battery life is very good. Hope it stays like that. Just disable all that unnecessary bloatware apps and features. There are so many! Almost 500 apks without installing anything. All of them running in the background ALL the time. Samsung is a b!tch for making other fonts not compatible with their phones. You have to pay for other fonts or root your phone. Found Bauhaus font on xda after you a very intensive search. Also, wtf Samsung?! I have to send you a request plus my portfolio in order to get access to your themes creator program?? There are things I like about Sammy, but there are many more that I hate.

  • Very good quality phone. FM is missing. All other features are great. Premium phone. not a budget phone.

  • Samsung has not given any information yet, but it´s supposed that the most recent flagships (S8/S8+/S9/S9+) will receive the upgrade to Android 9.0

  • No. Next year in April/May

  • Android 9 on galaxy S8+ in this year ??

  • It's the best phone ,I'm big Samsung fun

  • Very good phone i like it

  • i own an s8+ and i dont have no complain i got as soon as it was released i dont know why u are complaining bro its a great phone for me cause i dont like iphone and i will never buy an iphone again

  • It's not the camera. It's the display. Use Amoled Cinema or put Adaptive Display to warmest & reduce green colour to minimum

  • I need natural looking picture. I m not happy with the oversaturated colour that my s8 plus captures. Is there any solution bro..?

  • I've had the Galaxy S8 Plus since it was released. It's a great phone. The camera is amazing, it has water-proofing, it looks great. It's almost all screen. There are only two real flaws with it. 1) It is one of the most crackable phones ever. Two sides made out of glass and mostly all screen lead to drops cracking the display. 2) If you use fast charging the battery dies really quickly like in about a year. Part 2 can be mitigated by turning off fast-charging early on.

  • Worst phone and service. Very very bad experience with S8+. Repeated complaints and not solved properly by service center. I Recommend iPhone. ...atlest for good support and reputation.

  • its great

  • That`s true there are a lot of ways that you can save battery life from the S8+ but you gonna have to suffer to a lot of down falls which is unacceptable. yes all the features are great but if all of this are power hungry then it`s better to live them off but the best part is increase the battery size 3500 sounds a lot but it does not provide or not enough. hopefully S10 will crank up the battery to 4000.

  • I have the update of OREO for a while now and the battery drain issue actually shows especially if you crank up the display to WQHD+ the battery percentage drops significantly even if I`m only doing a little bit of browse and text or say light use for heavy usage the percentage drop drastically so between the screen of FHD+ and WQHD+ the WQHD+ consumes a lot of power even in low brightness. but my experience on this one is great I do hope they improve the battery life when Android P comes out for the S8+

  • Still no Oreo update for my S8+.. 955u model. :(

  • S8+ will handle games better because of better gpu. If u can live with that horrible Huawei ui, buy it over the s8+.

  • Dear Concern still no oreo update in my device. i bought this cell phone from Qatar now I'm living in Bangladesh. What can i do if have any idea from you..noted: Bixby does not work for operating update.

  • Huawei Nova 3 or Samsung Galaxy S8+ Both are in same price bracket 1799 AED in UAE. S8+ is flagship device from 2017 and Nova 3 is High end Mid Ranger, I personally think nova 3 has better camera. What you think guys.. ??

  • My phone running android oreo out of the box

  • Same!!!! As Well As My Old S7 Edge......

  • Did you get oreo out of the box???

  • The battery life is much better on the A8+ Always on display takes only 2% from 100 to 98 after all night. S8+ is down by 6% for the same period. That's with both phones on 1080p.

  • Buy a faster one . Sandisk 100 mb/s.

  • Poweramp

  • Loving this thing. Speedy, useful, multitasks like a beast. Rock on.

  • My s8plus just died just after a year. I woke up to it bootlooping after the latest security patch. Tried to do factory reset but screen doesn't load. I tried to flash roms via odin which have been successful but now it stops at 32% and erases everything. It then reboots and reaches to 10% and displays fail. I'm done with android I've had the g4 that needed a motherboard and now save issue it seems with Samsung I'm gonna give ios a shot unless I find a fix

  • Hi i got my security patch this month on the 12 i think it was june security patch and just now i got an update for 400 and something mb is this july security update?

  • S8+ blows a8+ both in specs & speed. Just play a game like pubg & then you'd know what I'm talking.

  • HOTWAV phone has a global reputation or not Someone used this HOTWAV Cosmos S8 4G LTE model

  • I have the A8+ and just bought the S8+. specs and speed are almost similar. A8 is thicker and heavier and the S8 has a much better camera and sleeker design. They're both good but I'd still go for the S8+. My wife is getting my A8+.

  • first of all I like the Samsung galaxy s8+ model, I thought it`s gonna be annoyingly big but it just fit my hands right. I like every aspect of the phone when I bought my S8+ a couple of months now I never actually had the opportunity to experience nougat I bought it with oreo already, so any other problems that occur from nougat I have no idea, the battery life for me is ok lasted the whole day some people say it use to last 24hrs on nougat not on oreo. the one and only thing I have a problem with is the Samsung music app. there was a time when I play all of my songs ok then I will experience stutter at least how many times I could not count. that`s my only problem everything else`s are fine. I also see that Samsung trademark of small lags issues. but none the less everything`s great.

  • There's a big difference in price between the s8+ & iPhone 8+. The iPhone 8+ is newer, so buy it if u can bear iOS & have the money. S8+ is one of the best deals for its price atm

  • iphone 8 plus or s8+? Looking for a phone thats good for gaming, good camera, durable, and will last for a good 1-2 years.

  • Perhaps you are in an excessively humid environment.

  • when samsung s8 plus will get dual volte support ota update anybody now,s...i got it on mu a8 plus but waiting for s8 plus...

  • The most important thing is the camera s8 far better

  • I am facing a problem with moisture detect when i connect with a charger both mob and charger is dry whats the problem anyone...pl tel me.

  • I found that after Oreo update, battery couldn't last 24 hr. Anyone experience the same?

  • I’m facing a problem with sound when I connect a headphone or bluetooth speaker, sound doesn’t come out. However it detects the headphone and I can even control the volume up and down through the headphone but it doesn’t benefit. I tried restarting the phone, with and without it, taking the SD CARD out, cleaning the Jack Port, none helped.

  • still no Oreo update till now !! please sir any problem ?

  • Maybe it's a region's problem !...where are you from ?

  • I have it for a long time...maybe it is your providers problem

  • i bought new Samsung galaxy S8+ a few months ago, however since i updated my device on latest software, no sensor is been worked then, can anyone facing the same problem.

  • still no Oreo update till now !!

  • Thank you very much.

  • Hi all, I bought a new s8+ and I noticed that the average battery temporary on normal use ( web, fb, youtube,) without playing games is around 37 C , is that normal? Thanks

  • Tap the top right hamburger button (3 lines icon). Then scroll down until u see Settings & Privacy. Choose settings, then go to Media & Contacts. There you'll see option to turn off Autoplay

  • Could you explain just on Facebook app alone, how do you go into the settings for disabling auto start video? And I'm not talking about the personal setup like name, location or privacy. Any real s8+ user with Facebook installed, could I get advice from you guys?

  • All apps have menu icons or slide menus, why u still want that long press back button? It's slow. Just tap or slide the menu

  • Say for example, how do you go into the settings of the Facebook and disable the auto play video? In the past it's either long press the back button or recent apps button and you can access the settings. I'm on unroot phone.

  • What menu are you referring to. Do you mean all your apps?

  • What's wrong with it?

  • You can't compare a mid range device with a flagship. Of course S8+ is better.

  • Which is bettet between Samsung S8+ and A8+?...your suggestions will be appreciated.

  • Can someone please guide me on how to enable the menu button? For example, in the past we could actually long press recent or back button and the menu option pop out. Now cannot due to Oreo upgraded?

  • Where is the menu button? Example in the past Samsung, we could either long press recent or back button to pop up menu button but not for S8+ anymore. Any idea?

  • s8 plus is a best phone now a days. price and performance is great.

  • Dears I buy a Samsung s8+ IMEI number - 35785108011817202 and SN-RZ8J40NQG9R , 5-4-2017 after sun time problem start ,4 time I submitted to care but problem again n again no satisfaction , naw im tired to go care so please don't buy Samsung s8+ no saport from Samsung care and local care also naw Im submitted my Samsung S8+ fifth tie to care

  • Yap. Thank u very much. It's a robust music player + Full free + No ads also.

  • Musicolet is pretty good

  • Thanks bro. But it's a paid. apk not working for long time.

  • Check your camera lens for any dirt or try to use the cam in Non Pro mode

  • auto focusing for the main camera take too much time , more than 20 seconds . what you suggest to solve this issue ?

  • can s8+ support all the heavy games without any lag for specially Mali-G71 MP20 GPU?

  • but their selective focus still need a lot of improvement. so left behind than iphone 7+ for the bokeh mode

  • I got this

  • I'm using poweramp, try it, since I bought android phone it's the only music player I'm using

  • Yes i received it 2 weeks ago

  • guys has anyone of u got the security update for june?

  • How can i get the best possible audio output from my s8 plus ( for audio song ) ? Which media player is best suited for s8 plus. So far i sorted Jet audio plus , Player pro. Any other alternative bro ???

  • I suggest you to buy S8+ if you still considered to upgrade your phone, value of money you can save it more than buy S9, there is no significantly change overall except the performance, also S8+ has a better speed network than original S8, battery capacity as well, don't worry about single camera, as long as Samsung still hold their Dual Pixel AF technology from previous S7

  • If you want features, buy Samsung. U have more money, buy S9+. If u don't want to spend too much, buy S8+. They have better battery life than the smaller versions. If you want updates, buy OnePlus 6. U have money & want updates, wait for Pixel 3

  • I want to buy a phone what are your suggestions?

  • My phone is making at 16/03/2018 and it is working on android oreo 8.0 out of the box.is this normal or my phone is not original?

  • Oh, n check out the battery endurance rating .... n .. hey! You don't have to contend with this malarkey!!! shenanigans!!! ...palava!!! (unsure of correct spelling but it's pronounced this way)

  • I'm sure you have checked out the comparisons here on gsmarena, but if not .. few things to consider Super amoled display v LED ( S7 Plus) the 3.5 mm Jack and the ability to add more storage via microSD hey and you have Gear VR Quick trivia questions - who is behind the screen for Apple's new flagship the Iphone X? (Rhetorical question)

  • One of the first things to consider when changing from one operating system to another is how much have you invested in the platform E.g Apps, games, music etc and how would you feel about losing them really because that's what you are going to have to weigh up. How would you feel about losing those Apps, game etc? I've invested many many hundreds of pounds over the years just on Apps, games, videos etc on the Android platform so It would hit me in the pocket quite dramatically if I was to switch over to IOS and buy them all again. I can't knock Iphone BUT when you buy into Iphone and their eco system you really are at a disadvantage in my humble opinion and I genuinely don't say that as a fanboy, I say it because I feel that I have far far more flexibility and choice as I'm not just restricted to one manufacturer. I have numerous manufactures competing amongst themselves to try and entice me into buying their product, be it Samsung, Sony, Nokia, xiaomi, Motorol, I could go on and on. When you are buying an apple phone, well they are leading a race that only they compete in. That's not to knock them, they are great at what they do, there is no doubt about it. But hey, I can pick n choose to my hearts content on the Android operating system and all that investment in games, apps, videos etc is flawlessly still there for me no matter what phone I choose on android. I can choose budget, midrange, flagship from an array of manufacturers and many phones out there to suit my budget. I'm not a slave to one brand is what I'm saying. The S8 Plus is without a doubt a fantastic phone, incredible and just don't take my word for it look at the the general opinion out there from the critics. I've been using the phone from launch and I can say hand on heart it's been a dream to use. Still blown away by it and it will take a great phone to come along before I switch to another and I have used many many phones, some for just a few months. I'm entirely happy with the S8 Plus and feel no rush to move on anytime soon. I thoroughly recommend the S8 Plus, but hey it's not about me, it's all about you. Sorry if I've not given you a straight answer but it's all about personal preference but from a customer perspective having an option to pick and choose from a vast range of phones from many manufactures that are all competing against each other for my buck is far more healthy and put me more in control in my opinion.

  • Any opinion what would be my next phone galaxy s8+ or iphone 7+? currently iphone 6s is my daily driver...

  • It's no problem, Thanks for your reply and really glad you got it sorted :)

  • Thanks a lot. I have done it. So kind of u

  • So basically go to 'gallery' and select the pic you wish to fix then click the 3 dots at the top right of the screen followed by 'OPEN IN PHOTO EDITOR PRO' then click 'PORTRAIT' you will then see the option to 'FIX RED EYE' Just remember as per the post from snowrider0985 "The option to fix red eye only appears if you are looking at a photo where the phone detects a person's eyes. For example a picture of a mountain does not have the option, a selfie does" :)

  • This thread should provide the answer. I struggled to find it myself. It's something I've not had to use.

  • Dial the first number you wish to connect to and when you're connected press 'ADD CALL' and then dial the 2nd number you wish to connect to. When connected to the second call press 'MERGE CALL' on the screen. Hope it helps :)

  • how to use conferance call

  • nokia 7 plus is good in Pakistan bcs there price is 35k but no good resale value. and Samsung a8+ is also a good device and very good looking display . nokia 7 plus have stock android and Samsung have here Owen interfaced its depened on u what u like more and both device have big difference in price . nokia 7 plus is 35k and samung a8+ is 61k

  • Which one will be best? samsung A8+ , Nokia 7+ or ASUS Zenfon 5. need a expart opinion. I will use the phone for long time. plz help.

  • Hello. I purchased s8plus today and i surprised when I see my phone run an android oreo out of box! Is this normal!?

  • Boss, Where is the option in camera of RED EYE REDUCTION. please help.

  • it has camera portrait mode or not

  • Have had my S8+ since last November. Great phone...sometimes overheats, but other than that, no problems at all. I am on TMO network....and my only out of home area trip w/this phone was to Lake Placid, NY and Montreal, Canada....no problems at all. Although TMO is not as strong, signalwise as VZW or Sprint or ATT....love the phone!

  • This is disgusting phone ever.. expensive and suffer from screen burn in..

  • If yourhandset is under warranty, then contact samsung care.

  • S8+ for bigger screen and bigger battery, rest everything is same and both are superb phones.

  • S8 or S8+, and why?

  • SM - G955F I bought it in Germany, it was a new one of course.

  • Go for the S8+ without a second thought and you won't be disappointed. Games run smoothly on this beast and videos are a treat to watch thanks to the superb screen resolution this phone has and not to forget the outstanding camera which can take amazing pics in any lighting conditions.

  • Which variant of s8+ you have Bro?

  • I tried with mine but says device that connected is required more power. so didn't work. perhaps HDD with external power supply will works.

  • can S8 plus read 1TB external HDD?

  • Go for S8 plus. Perfect phone. My battery last almost two days of heavy usage, Oreo is on it, and I am not facing with any issue about the battery. It's very durable.

  • You're most welcome :)

  • I had the exact same issue just a few days ago. I ended up getting the S8 but I wish I had gone with the One plus 6. The S8 is easier to repair if anything goes wrong, there are just more parts that are easily available but the battery life is not as strong as I had hoped.

  • I am in a huge dilemma. I have 600$ to spend and I am falling between the S8+ or the OnePlus 6. Can someone pls help me decide. Also, I would like to aask if the S8+ runs games like PUBG and Asphalt 8 as smoothly as the OP6

  • Thanks.

  • Another test you could also conduct is to dial *#0*# As if you are making a call Dial *#0*# and then click on 'receiver' you will then hear a steady clean tone coming through the earpiece. Admittedly if you do not have another s8/s8 plus at your disposable (e.g a friend ) it is rather hard to determine if your earpiece sounds any different to a earpiece that is faulty. But if that tone is not clear then that would certainly be an indication that there is indeed an issue with the earpiece. To come out of that menu just press the back button several times until you come out of that menu.

  • Yeah I should of said. When your phone restarts and goes into safe mode, a notification will pop up and say 'tap here to turn off safe mode' so basically you just tap the message in your notification tray (top of the screen) to go come out of safe mode. The phone will once again restart in order to do this. Its more than likely it won't be an issue relating to an app in this case, but it will allow you to trouble shoot, and rule out whether or not a 3rd party app is causing any issue as the phone is a very stripped down state when the phone is in 'safe mode' E.g All 3rd party Apps will be disabled With a calling issue as I said it's unlikely to be a 3rd party app.. buy hey you never know, you get all weird apps these days and it could be something like a call recording app for example that is causing issue..... I dunno. Like I said worth trying as you can at least start eliminating things that maybe causing an issue before taking the phone to a service centre. Hope it helps :)

  • Good suggestion but how would you then return the phone to normal mode.

  • Also another thing you could try and once again you may of tried this also, so I apologise if I'm coming across a bit patronising:) Try putting the phone into 'safe mode' and making and taking a call just to see if by any 3rd party app is causing any issues. To do this : Whilst the phone is on, just long press the power key as you would normally do to select 'power off' option but instead of tapping the 'power off' just keep pressing on that 'power off' option until you see safe mode then click on 'safe mode' and whilst safe make and take a call. It will just allow you to rule out any 3rd party app that may be causing an issue. Good luck

  • Been using this for more than a month now and I say it`s a great buy, I know I should have gone to S9 Plus but since my budget fall in to the S8 plus category so I went through, a little bit of hit and miss on the finger print sensor you gonna have to get use to it when you decided to use it otherwise you still got other ways of unlocking your phone. Mine I registered all of it. This phone is really good but I might trade it in to S9 plus since my goal from the start is S9 plus because of the camera features which I use a lot from my S8 plus. And that bixby translation kind of thing when you take the camera to a different language and it will automatically translate it for you, not a big deal but kinda useful to what I do day to day. All in all the phone is great can`t say any other bad things about it except that bixby button when it supposed to be remapped in the first place. otherwise things are great but I pursue S9 plus no hard feelings to the s8 plus community.

  • Thanks all. I shall try as u suggested. See u soon.

  • Feel exactly the same. Have over 90 apps on the phone and it's ran like a dream. With other phones in the past I used to get obsessed with constantly cleaning the phone out, and I would have wee niggles here and there, I was never fully satisfied. This phone, hand on heart has been a sheer joy to use.

  • Your most welcome, sorry I could not help. I know that you have probably asked yourself whether it could possibly be the network itself but if not.... If it's an unlocked version possibly try another sim card on another network, borrow a friend's if possible to make and take a call, just to eliminate anything you can If the problem persists then I would certainly consider popping into a service centre to see if there is an issue with the phone itself as I wouldn't put up with the call quality sound as you describe it. Yeah, I'm not a lover of an oversaturated colours and prefer the 'basic' setting as I find that's the best setting to achieve a more natural look but it's all subjective and that may suit you. Ta for your reply and hope you manage to get it sorted or that someone can assist you further. It's a great phone just a shame that you are having this issue :(

  • Get your phone checked regarding the ear piece. As far as the camera is considered the S8+ is miles ahead and takes better pics than any iPhone.

  • Thanks dude. May be i m an isolated case. Call sound is loud but it feels me that its coming through a tunnel...may be my earpiece is defective. Besides i like camera with natural color picture . ( Like i phone ) But my s8 plus captures oversaturated picture ... . Display is set in adaptive mode.

  • Exactly! I'm yet to find any flaws in this phone :-)

  • Yeah, same here had to turn it down a bit too but quality is fine. No complaints.

  • You mean call quality?? It's pretty loud and clear, sometimes I've to lower down the incoming call volume cause of privacy. I haven't faced any issues regarding call quality on my S8 plus or my previous S7 edge.

  • I don't feel the same. Calls, music, videos all sound great to me. You could try adapting the sound to suit yourself to see if it helps in anyway if you have not done so already. Go to 'settings' then 'sound and vibration' followed by 'sound quality and effects' now press 'adapt sound' then 'add personalized sound profile' As it says, find a quite place and press start, you will hear a series of beeps etc it will also ask what ear you normally use to make or take calls.

  • I feel very poor quality in call sound... comparing to my iphone. Any software trick or twiking of setting to make it earfrindly...like iphone or Nokia. Rest hardware + software is good. Do u guys feel the same ? Thank u

  • Could be a number of reasons from a fault with the sdcard or a fault with the phone itself. You could try here to see if anything here helps you.

  • I get notifications that SD card unexpectedly removed. Why does it happen

  • Thanks for that. I actually clear my memory quite frequently but didn't realise that clearing cache was the same thing. Appreciate your time in helping.

  • Thanks dude. Yeah I'm in love with this phone since I bought It, I also have a habit of changing phones quite frequently but I'll stick with the S8 plus for long :-)

  • I love your positivity *thumbs up It's certainly the best phone I've ever had overall. This is the longest I have ever kept a phone for (bought S8 plus at launch) I usually go for the 'next big thing' BUT feel no need to do so this time. I'm continually blown away by this phone. It's a keeper for sure. The battery life has continued to exceed my expectations (still get 7+ hours of SOT) Class.

  • Thank u.

  • It completely blows away all the flagships in terms of camera, specially low light images which are so freaking clear. I went to a night market today and took several pics without flash and they turned out to be awesome compared to my friend's iPhone 7 plus. S8 plus rules!!!

  • Sure, go ahead.

  • Then S8,

  • Just received the May security patch update.

  • How about s8 regarding the battery life

  • no it wont really affect anything else.it will make the phone speedier.go to settings, device maintenance, memory and press clean now.that should make your phone faster. but if youre a fan of apps i would recommend SD Maid.i would recommend the paid version as it is more flexible.but its not a must.

  • Me too I want to know the truth which one is the best there v30 or s8+

  • It won't effect anything else and it's worth pointing out that it's not a miracle cure but it will help if any of the files have been corrupted through constant installing or uninstalling apps/operating system which can happen and as a result may result in a deteriation in performance. This should help with instructions and a bit more info.

  • Thanks for your reply. How do I clear cache files and will it affect anything else.

  • Please which one is the best phone in terms of front camera, performance and battery life between lgv30 and Samsung s8+?? Urgent answers pls...

  • smart view = screen mirror friend

  • yes i am also facing same problem friend.

  • S8 and S8 plus are both great phones, if you want big screen along with bigger battery life then go with the S8 plus.

  • i'm making my mind to buy it then i buythis plus or s8

  • What a fantastic phone from Samsung!! Superb performance and outstanding camera makes it one of the best phone money can buy.

  • If this warning message is on constantly, and you are sure that there is no moisture in the port then give this a try. Plug in your charger whilst the phone is on then restart the phone keeping the charger plugged in.

  • Thanks a lot

  • I have enjoyed much and i loved my s8 plus but one big problem is the message i keep getting that..." moisture has been detected plz check the charging port etc. why this while the phone is water resistance plz look up into this coz am fed up....?

  • Ig you use QI charging it WILL generate heat. If you use Samsungs newest QI charger (the one with the leather) It has an built in fan that helps cool it down.

  • I have been using this device for more than six month in Tanzania. And face signal challenges with 2G. The device doesnt work atall. It only perform better in areas with strong network signals.

  • When only 2G network available my S8plus Displayed "Emergency call"

  • I am facing problem with my S8 plus in 2G network not catch signal. But 3G & 4G work fine.As per samsung care (India) problem with software and solve only after new update release by samsung. Anyone facing same problem?

  • Which one is better s8 plus or one plus 6 ?

  • Every phone with fast charging heats up and that's normal, nothing to worry about.

  • Battery life is very good

  • Hi Friends I recently buy S8+ just want to know about the feedback of heating issue. Is still exists?? because when I charged phone yesterday it was heat up. It is now at oreo Suggestions..

  • Battery life on the S8 Plus is simply superb, for me it easily lasts for over a day. Go for it and you won't regret.

  • Hi guys, I want to buy this device, can you give me information about the battery life?

  • temporary cache files are files which are temporarily stored on your phone for faster loading just in case you decide to open it again.

  • Sorry but what is a temporary cache file.

  • Wiping cache partition will delete temporary cache files. It won't delete any of your settings, personal data etc. If you are having any issues with the performance of the phone then I would recommend performing this as a first step to solve any problems.

  • Is wiping cache partition really solving lagginess? Will I lose any data if I do that?

  • Use the "Smart view" for screen mirroring, here's the link:

  • Whre is the feature of screen mirroring. I cant get it in my s8 please, ( miracast ). Thank u

  • Exactly!! It's a beautiful phone with top notch specs and superb cameras in any lighting conditions. A complete powerhouse!!

  • S8+ has the best screen-to-body ratio in smartphone world period!

  • The S8+ is a great phone but it was getting slow and laggy over the past few months. Removing apps, clearing cache, rebooting etc wasn't working. I found some information on "wipe cache partition" and that has restored it to the original snappiness. Give it a go if yours has slowed down.

  • Where you can access the barometer feature on this phone

  • Get it without a second thought I'm using it for months and it's one of the best phone I've ever come across, simply superb!!

  • Get it! It's an awesome phone. Just be sure not to get the unlocked variant as updates happen last for unlocked version. I'm still waiting for Oreo

  • i need to buy s8 plus users are what you saying, i need buy s8 plus ok or not ok.

  • s9+ ofcourse

  • Well said could not agree more. People will always find some small unimportant thing to pick on. I guess they are bored with their lives and they get their excitement this way.

  • I'm using the S8 plus for quite sometime now and it's a great phone in all aspects, love it!!

  • I have only probably every phone on the market including all the iPhone C iPhone x or 10 whatever you want to call it and truly this is pretty perfect in my eyes and seriously guys saying it's not edge to edge really I think some people need to find a hobby once again these are opinions I am thoroughly impressed with my S8 Plus

  • Shut up all of u S8+ is a perfect smartphone

  • S9+ as it supports Project Treble

  • Which mobile will b best samsung s8+ or s9+

  • I'm not disputing the fact that the S8 Plus is not truly edge to edge screen. I am saying that you exaggerated the claim that the S8 Plus had bigger bezel than the S3. It does not! That's all. Personally I love the design of the S8's and as I use a case the small bezel does not bother me in the slightest. I would argue that if the phone had true edge to edge display then it would make the phone even more prone to damage if dropped, especially if you were to use the phone without a case.

  • living in Beijing and bought a s8+ but the U.S unlocked variant(G955U ). I still have no Oreo and everyone I contact about the update are total retards. May someone give me a an intelligent answer as to when I can expect the Oreo update.

  • The display is not edge to edge with the aluminum frame. It has a black bar which is about 1.5mm on each side. I noticed that after testing both devices at a shop. It's not only Samsung though. All those 18:9 ratio phones are like that. They're even more pronounced on lg v30 & OnePlus. I wished they were truly edge to edge.

  • "The side bezels are wider than those of a Samsung S3" Are you just looking at images? Have you put the S3 and S8 Plus side by side and compared them? If you have then you will realise that what you have said is untrue!

  • There's a 1.5mm black part of the screen on each side of the screen. Same goes for the the lg v30 & s9. It's not edge to edge screen

  • Where the hell on earth does the S8 has side bezels?? I think you need an eye check up dude.

  • I just noticed something from these so-called bezeless phones (v30, s9, s8, iPhone x etc). The side bezels are wider than those of a Samsung S3. I hate side bezels. They should be like the Sony XA2, but they are thicker than 5 years old phones

  • There's nothing wrong with the loudspeaker, its loud and clear.

  • Just received the new update with April security patch, wifi, bluetooth and camera improvements.

  • Not had any issues with gaming at all using the exynos version, and I do quite a bit of gaming on this phone every day. Many argue that the exynos is the best version to have. Fantastic phone and has been flawless since launch and will easily last me more than another year. In fact it will take a really great phone to come along for me to even consider giving up the S8 Plus and I'm one of those people that usually has to have the latest model.

  • new update sm955fd india improved stability - Bluetooth , camera , WiFi version 955FXXU1CRD7/G955FOXM1CRD5/955FXXU1CRD1 Size 570.22MB

  • Very smooth. Though can't say about sd835.

  • Weak??? Perhaps you need some boofer like experience in mobile. By the way mi like chinese brands fit you perfectly.

  • I've had since launch and it's running as well as it did on day one. Perhaps try wiping cache, it could be a number of things causing the issue including a dodgy app. ●Turn off the device. ●Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the Power key (keep pressing all keys together) ●When the Android logo displays, release all keys ('Installing system update' will show for about 30 - 60 seconds before showing the Android system recovery menu options). ●Press the Volume down key several times to highlight “wipe cache partition and then ”Press the Power key to select. Press the Volume down key to highlight “yes” and press the Power key to select. ●When the wipe cache partition is complete, “Reboot system now” is highlighted.Press the Power key to restart the device. If this fails, I would perhaps look at 'Device Manager' then 'battery ' to see if there are any apps that are causing any issues with background activities. If all else fails I would consider a factory reset and if it still isn't rectified then it would be off to the service centre for me.

  • Loudspeaker is very weak.... My mi mAx 2 is 5 times louder that it.

  • I bought the phone an year ago, been working fine so far. But the phone has recently been heating up quite a lot although it would be understandable if it had only happened during the gaming sessions. However the phones seems to warm up quite a bit even when just watching videos on youtube for a short while. Any idea if it is due to the recent updates or could be a battery issue(highly doubtful since I have been using it quite responsibly so far). Anyone else facing similar issues?

  • Just completed Oreo update... What's new Feature guys ?

  • Anyone use s8+"s Exynos 8895 processor one? Any comment or problem on gaming?

  • Two months with this beast and it's one of the best phone I've used so far, awesome!!!

  • yes it safe use under water im trey mane time

  • Same here. :(

  • Using Pro mode in left to right swipe

  • How do you take pictures with the background blurred?

  • No you may drown while trying to talk on the phone.......lol

  • I updated and everything works very good, all sensors work. Only you have problem.

  • Every sensor is not working after oreo update. Even iris scanner

  • Can anyone tell me if it is 100% safe to use the phone underwater?

  • Can someone tell me how the loudspeaker performs, when using it in phone calls... Does the other side complain of muffled sound...? Is ringtone loud enough ? Thanks....

  • Same problem to me😭

  • Mine came with 4GB of RAM, not sure if 6GB was an option. The pros: The screen is very nice. It's just stunning. The colors are perfect, saturated and the resolution is stunning. Every time I look at the screen, it generates a "wow" effect. It has a higher resolution than standard 2560x1440 16:9 phones. The pixel per inch ratio is very high. It's fast. Faster than anything else I've ever seen. Reboots very fast. Now the cons: The 18.5:9 screen ratio is weird. I do not like it. I prefer the 16:9. Nothing in the real world scales to 18.5:9 well. While 16:9 is perfect. I don't know who thought of that stupid idea. The non-removable battery is another serious problem. If your OEM battery fails, have to get it professionally replaced. Sending the phone back, enduring downtime. This is just downright stupid, I much preferred the Note 4 method where the OEM battery can be upgraded with an extended ZeroLemon battery. Curved edge is another puzzling problem - it makes the screen look weird, shrinks the area and I constantly hit the icons on the side, either activating them or removing them off the screen. What is the point, pray tell? Just a minor annoyance. And the glass back? That doesn't make any sense either. The phone is very thin and very slippery. You definitely need a case for it or an external ZeroLemon battery bank to add some depth to it. I've seen a number of broken S8 (including note 8) that are very fragile and it's very easy to drop one as they very slippery. They feel like holding a credit card-thick piece of ice. They seriously need to increase the battery capacity, 3300 mAh is not sufficient, a phone with that kind of resolution needs as least twice that maybe more. I prefer 10,000 mAh. Ideally making the battery replaceable. A Li-Ion battery has a finite number of cycles on it and generally goes bad after 2 years. And begins to lose some capacity after 6-12 months. The Bixby app is another useless piece of sofware, I used an app to remap it something more useful.

  • my mobile is G955V (Verizon) dont have oreo update and i am stay in egypt

  • My s8+ FD model has still not received the oreo update ?

  • Any one tell me s8+ 6gb ram available in saudi arabia

  • Amazing phone I updated this phone from nougat to oreo after 2 month release....just disable edge screen n disable infinity wallpaper...battery life increase and set to lower resolution.....do it and see guys

  • Could you please tell me what did you experience when you downloaded the latest software update?

  • Yes ,I just got march security patches and some bug fixes this night. I'm In Dubai

  • Facebook app actually is not good for android phones. Use slimesocial instead and old version messanger. Restart your phone when you feel the battery become bad. As you will notice the ram available is 1gb ; after restart its become 1.7gb

  • The phone is good but i suggest not to download any software update before 1 to 2 month of release.

  • Mine was the same. Let your phone settle in for a few days and it will be fine.

  • What is the model number of your device?

  • I'm in Jamaica and I bought the unlocked T-Mobile model of the s8 plus and I want to know if I'll still get the OTA software updates and security patches for it even though it's tmobile model and I'm in the Caribbean?

  • Hello, i did it just now. Still nothings change. Since my google playstore is not working. what i did i was to check a website where i can download some apps. Ive seen apk.com there you go. I got some of my applications downloaded. Currently aside from google playstore everything is definitely working great. I still love my samsung s8 plus midnight black.

  • Same issue happend to me. But i figured it out. Go to play store settings and set the auto update app to auto-update apps at anytime. Then reconnect your wifi or data connection.

  • Hello. I bought new samsung s8 plus midnight black 64gb yesterday. Unboxing was totally awesome and the phone itself was stunning. Then i tried to navigate the phone and whats inside. The specification is great and camera is clear. Then i tried to download some apps from google playstore. However it states download pending. So i tried to wait for it. After an hour. Still nothing was downloaded. So i tried to restart the phone. Then after it restart. There was a notification about oreo update. So i agreed on it. Then it donwloaded the oreo update with some additional enhancement on the specification and tools. Then i tried to check back with google playstore still the same. Its been one day already but still i cant used my google play store. I tried to check some details online. Some say go to setting then apps then google playstore then forced stop. And it will works. However for me theres no changes. Is there anyway that i can fix my google playstore. Hopefully someone can help me thank you. Regards, Sven

  • I bought a good condition used s8+(Verizon) ...but I feel that the battery drain fast (I didn't try the brand new one) ...How can I know the condition of the battery?

  • I'm starting to feel that my s8+ wont last me 3 years of usuage like my s4 did from 2013-2016.

  • This happened with me too. I tried to download oreo over mobile data (since I don't have wifi the place I'm right now) so I took it to the service centre and got it updated in no time. While downloading it via mobile data gets interrupted saying the "download failed turn on wifi". Now it's even more smooth with oreo, it's one of the best phones I've ever had its camera is simply stunning with monstrous battery life. Love it!!

  • Anytime i try to update my s8+ with cellular network it tells me the wifi network was disconnected so I should connect to a wifi network to update. It can't update over cellular network anymore. Any help?

  • I can't perform system update on my s8+ over cellular network. It tells me to update using only wifi. Can anyone help? I don't have wifi at my current location.

  • Backup you data Remove Google account Make factory reset Enjoy

  • I updated my S8+ to oreo couple of days back along with the March security update and there's nothing wrong with the battery infact it's rock solid. I would advice to you to do a factory data reset I did the same after getting the update.

  • I'm worried about my battery plz tell any one

  • I'm updated my phone to Oreo and my battery drop quickly anyone tell me why

  • It's an amazing phone, but how can we fix the problem of power reset or unknown upload mode

  • Got the March security patch update today.

  • Thanks a ton :-)

  • Just got a notification about a new 465 MB update.

  • Good Stuff! Yeah same here, delighted and enjoy the rest of your holiday.

  • Yeah even I haven't seen any drop in the battery performance in fact it has become even more smooth after oreo update. Superb phone!!

  • Good for you then, enjoy your gadget :-)

  • Cheaper is not always cheaper long term though. For example the battery may pack in and you have to replace it. It's also highly unlikely that you will be covered by the same length of warranty (which also.has a high value) or the warranty does not give you as much cover as the original Samsung warranty would of, which may in turn lead to further unforseen outlays in the future. Sorry if I'm stating the obvious, my intention is not to patronise:)

  • Ahhh I see, well at least you have received it now. Personally I see a small performance though admittedly it may all in my head. The good thing is I have certainly not seen a drop.in performance or battery life.

  • My experience with refurbished phone hasn't been great, obviously the price is going to be low but you'll not get to know about the phone performance. I bought a refurbished S8 it was as good as new but the battery life was horrible also the phone used to shut down while installing large apps. After all it's up to you decide whether to go for a used phone or a new one, money matters and always will be.

  • Why would it be cheaper to buy it new? Surely refurbished ones are preowned? That'd make it cheaper, surely. This may be a bad example, but I could get a refurbished Samsung S6 for £130 but new it'd be more.

  • Thanks a lot, yeah it's a great phone no doubt about that. I'm in India for vacations and updated got the Oreo yesterday.

  • Has it just became available for to download in the UK? (seem to remember you are in the UK) P.S Good choice going for the S8 Plus. Great phone.

  • Finally updating my S8 plus to Oreo:-)

  • Good!! Refurbished phones are not trustworthy so it's better to save money and buy a new one.

  • yes i knew i considered that too, ended up buying brand new xperia xz premium for $500 :D maybe i'll be saving for note 9.

  • Yeah, it's normal get warmer as the last person said. Especially during wireless or fastcharge. It even mentions that it is normal on Samsung's own website.

  • I bought a used S8 (not plus) few weeks back at a great price and it was as good as new without any scratches along with the box and all the accessories but the main problem was it's battery which was horrendous couldn't even hold upto a day with minimal usage. Finally I got rid of it and bought a brand new S8 Plus. Now I don't trust refurbished phones anymore no matter how low their prices are.
