  • Samsung i320 is "The Brilliant Handset". It has the basic required functions of: QWERTY keyboard, Camera, Camera flash, Video recorder, Memory card slot, Bluetooth with A2DP (stereo audio), Infrared port, Ringtones Mp3 and Games.

  • This is a wicked phone. If you like the qwerty style on mobiles and don't really feel like paying a lot for one, then this is the phone for you. It is very nice.

  • Can anyone guide on how to use this mobile as internet modem with laptop? Consider the mobile is already EDGE configured.

  • This phone is very good and professional, but the problem is this that it cant play DAT files

  • is it possible to install or download any radio program on it? thanks.

  • A great smatphone. Sleek looks and an excellent processor. The biggest problem is battery life, but comes with a spare and a carrging case to counteract this. Windows smarphone is a bit basic for "power users" but feels familiar and has all the basic needs covered. The camera is OK for fun use and has a LED unlike others in the range. The keyboard is one of the best on any phone which supprised me as the phone is tiny and my fingers are not. If looks are important and then you can't go wrong with this one. If 3g connection speeds and wifi are key to you then keep looking as this is gprs only.

  • It took over a week to learn how to get applications on my i320.So you should run the application through FUNBOX.First open Funbox then press download and it will open the WAP coonection. Then you can download and install any application you need.

  • Florin, To make OPERA MINI to work, point the wap browser to and download it to the phone. Do not download to your computer instead, download it with the phone browser to the phone. Let me know if it works.

  • this is such an ugly phone looks like a culculator from star

  • I have this phone and a Vista laptop. The phone syncs with vista with no issues. but there is no modem driver available for this phone. So if you want to connect your computer to the net using this phone, you are out of luck. Also the memopad app that came with this phone does not sync with outlook on vista.

  • @ Jasper, According Sumsungsite, there is no phone which compatable with Vista. How can this phone works with Vista if this phone is not compatable with Vista?? I say this because I want to buy the I600, but I am using Vista. Can you explain.

  • Syncing with Vista: works fine for me. I'm also able to sync over Bluetooth (on XP). Don't know what to tell you. Download latest ActiveSync.

  • Sollution to disable Shutter sound on your device SAMSUNG i321n (should work under i320) *First of all download Resco Explorer ( ) Install this on your device. *Record with the the standard voice-recorder in windows (sound recorder under accesories) a wav-file without sound (so simply disable your microphone) make it 5 seconds *Give this file a very simple name like "_mute.wav" * Copy this file from your PC to your device using your windows explorer, put this in the Windows folder on your device * Now open Resco Explorer on your device, press "menu" , "options" , "browser" and uncheck the both options of "Hide hidden files..." * Now browse on your device to the \windows folder and FIRST COPY/BACKUP the original."camera_shutter_1.wav" !!! Now locate your _mute.wav file, now choose "action" , "rename" and give the file "camera_shutter_1.wav" (please do not choose "camera_shutter_ 2.wav" or "camera_shutter_3.wav" ) * You now will get some alert-windows if you are sure etc. just press yes and then.... SILENT SHUTTER IS THERE! This works for Samsung i320 and i321 , i321N You may try in others

  • To get an internet connection on the i320n (with Cingular) YOU NEED TO REMOVE ALL PRE-LOADED GPRS's in the phone and add in cingulars GPRS.

  • A piece of good-looking junk, glorified calculator. A typical untested, un-thought out product before bringing to the mass market: (1) Cannot insert a + in front of an international dialing number when calling outside the country, one can use a + to bypass complicated international access codes; this phone does not allow that; it does not accept + when dialing. (2) No text edit function for a so-called SmartpPone, there is no Cut/Paste or Copy/Paste function to edit e-mail or SMS text. (3) Batteries do not last for a normal day use You will be completely out of luck if you count on the phone to make after-work arrangement if the Bluetooth had been turned on, or you had used it to make a few calls. Many other irritants. Totally user-unfriendly. Dont buy it.

  • i have this phone from last 2 months.its good looking phone with smart and beautifull screen ,camera is fine but basic problem is battery life ...samsung is far behind in battery technology ,about 80 percent of samsung phones having this problem.

  • Can you have a GPS app on this phone?

  • I have had this phone for about three months and love the design, layout etc. Battery life is an issue but then I just carry the second one with me. I purchased this sim free and seem unable to set the data settings for O2 in the UK. I have spoken to customer service but they say the handset is not supported by them therefore they cannot help. I know this is rubbish because prior to this I had a TREO 650 which was not on the O2 list but I had no problems with email etc. CAN ANYONE HELP?

  • anyone know how to shut the shutter sound of camera. its rather annoying

  • Yes it's just 2GB but it's enought

  • Can anyone guide me if this model can be install in korea version of WM 0.5?

  • How can you use an mp3 song as ringtone ????? I have the mp3 in "My sounds" and i don't know what to do whit it. I tried selecting the song from sound settings, but in that list, only the standard songs are listed. So please help me. thanks :)

  • is there any way to get a longer lasting battery for this phone?

  • How much can the memory be upgraded to? 2gb or 4gb?

  • Phone with two irritating issues. Battery really useless. Last only few hours and oblige you to carry extra stuff with you. Contact. When you look for a contact I do not understand why came out not the names with the initial letter selected but all the names coinating such letter.

  • So I'm using At&t service and was able to install the internet gprs settings for this phone. Having the toughest time getting the MMS to work. Anyone with any helpful info? These are the links I used for the internet, but the MMS stuff doesn't work and isn't very clear on these sites.

  • Can you change easily the language of the system in this phone? Eg. From German to English.

  • Anyone using this phone in India as a substitute for Blackberry? I talked to Hutch, Airtel and Reliance and they don't seem to approve of this phone on their Blackberry service? Help Anyone!!

  • Except the battery issue, which is really irritating, Samsung i320 is worth the money! Features, looks, performance all are just suberb. I seriously think that Samsung needs to re-engineer its battery technology a big time. The phone on a standyby mode doesn't even last 12 hours, with limited voice and sms use only.

  • Hi Naledi, To the best of my acknowledge, the phone features a 1.3Mpx camera, hope this helps.

  • got mine last week, its all top marks. even people in trains asks what made. very please. better than blackberry.

  • Anyone know if the phone can do group sms. Cheers

  • Justin, To set up the push email, do the following: 1. Go into ActiveSync (green icon) 2. Click menu 3. Click 2. Schedule 4. Set device to sync "As items arrive" This will "push" emails to the device as they arrive. You may also want to adjust your peak and off peak times.

  • What a great phone. It's everything I hoped for. I just have a query.. I have email set up.. but can't find out how to set up the push e-mail component. Can anyone talk me through it? Cheers justin

  • This Phone is absolutly the best phone i ever had - the qwerty keyboard is great, work well with one hand or two... the screen is amazingly clear and sharp - colours are top notch... Hadn't had the chance to connect to Email yet, however - syncing with outlook is a dodle (using the data usb cable, which also charges the phone)... Blootooth is a bit dissapointing - has had problems connecting phone to sync via blootooth... (but that could be just me)

  • Samsung i320N I was playing with this phone since we got it in the office, Its been amazing, there are no problems with it at all & couldnt find any difference between the i600 & i320 at all, fonts are so pretty on it, & pictures are well for a 1.3 camera, the scroll button on the side gives you the feeling as if its a blackberry, and phone is not big as other blackberries or nokia e61 which I really liked it. Any Questions

  • Setting your own ring tone. Yeh, I actually know how to do this. Make your music into a Wav file. It has to be aWAV. Place the WAV file into windows. Upload the WAV file into a folder on your phone via the Sync or by Bluetooth. Go into that folder. From the Menu select the WAV file by a tick. From Edit do CUT. Then go back to start and go to file manager, then go to Windows. Once youre in this folder Paste the Wav file anywhere. Go to the file and press ENTER button on your hpne, the silver little ball. Follow the instructions to make it a tone ringer. Enjoy.

  • Hi I got this phone recently, great phone!!! Just one question, how can I set it up to browse internet via internet explorer? I have got my Edge/GPRS settings and can browse via GPRS browser. Also, email setup to outlook, how do I go about this task? I also have MP3's on the mem card and want to use them as ringtone, how do I do this?

  • The phone works great. I had to call t-mobiles PDA tech support to help me set it up, but no problems. go on any web site when set up properly.

  • this a nice phone i want to buy it but the problem is there is no camera.why?

  • had it for 2 month now, i feel the keyboard needs to be pressed very very hard although good quality, but it makes typing a much slower and tiresom task. i miss my soft treo keyboard which i already sold it, i was really fast on 650. i switch back to my p990i after 3 weeks. no COPY and PASTE function which are a standard on any symbian one. very limited softwares range. build quality is superb. very good one handed navigation system with lots of extra useful software built-in. it superficially looks very attractive, good to show off to other people. perfect if u use it as a phone ONLY. otherwise no wirth buying it. not good for a real PDA user. they will find it very limited funtionalities built-in although its got a full keyboard. im more of a PDA user than phone user. i use it for internet. any other who wanna use this mainly as a phone plus some pda uses can buy it, but remember to hide a spare battery with u at all time, it doesnt last long enough for many long calls at all. only 800mhz capacity battery. the battery can drop from 90% to 85% in 1 or 2 minute talk. what i mean is that battery doesnt drop like this: 90% then 89% then 88% then 87%.... it drop like this instead: 90% then 85% then 82% then 77%, in just a few minutes with heavy usage like opera mini and internet browser! astonishing for me! i will hide this one inside my drawer to gather dust around it. dont recommend it if u r mainly a PDA user who wanna try wm smartphone. without the touchscreen, everything is lacked in flexibily. but it does include one of the best handling of phone apps for phone usage, very quick and easy look up of contacts. its somehow application locked from the factory for no reason. and the main problem is that it doesnt have office editing software included. very sad... but the whole system stability is one of the stablest one i ever had. treo 650 crashed every hour, n93 crashed once in 2 to 3 day, p990i automatically shut apps like opera and messaging to recover the ram, frustrating sometimes. but i320n very seldom crashed on me!! this is absolutely and totally true on me!! im so surprised by its stability. even with 20 apps heavily running at the back ground it is still ok but just a bit slow, with no crash at all! im actually writing this letter now using my i320n, it wasted 50 percent of my battery! it sounds a bit unrealistic, but its true. providing a spare battery is a bonus, but its actually a useless effort from samsung to attract more people to buy this. most people will not be bothered to charge the battery every day or every 6 hours. dont be fooled by the 2.2 inch, its actually the brightest one and clear. one of the best screen, in line with treo and n93. the letters and pictures are clearly seen and shaped, it doesnt look small at all. screen has proper viewing angle as well. and perfectly visible under DIRECT sun! the whole system is very fast, with fast responses, noticeable when playing movie, even those 480x360 movie with high bit rate can be played properly on this one with few lags!! crazy!! i was shocked ! even my treo 650 cant manage to do this! it is true that size and look arent everything if the functionality and usability is not up to the standard and expectation, no matter it is the slimmest and sturdiest PDA in the world. i think i already listed all the advantages and disadvantages of this phone. hopefully! hope u guys enjoy or comment further. -harry

  • free software for all smartphones on: www.coolsmartphone.com

  • Can somebody tell me in which format should I sync video files because most of them won't play in full screen? Thanks

  • I used the i320 for a few months now, and love it. The Activesync was set up within 30s, and synch'd with my office exchange server - and I've had useful functionality using the phone as a music and a video player, and often I don't even bother opening my laptop for writing emails thanks to the qwerty keyboard. I would only ever buy a Windows Mobile (despite its quirks) due to the ease of use, and Exchange Server synchronisation. And due to thin form factor, it's the only phone I can carry in my pocket comfortably. This is my first Samsung phone, and I'm a convert. Several of my colleauges got the phone as well after they saw mine.

  • I have had this device for two months now, and think it's fantastic. It's small and light but robust, and looks great. No problems with POP3 email, GPRS and EDGE setup and internet browsing using either Internet Explorer (included) or Opera Mini (available for download). I have added a 1Gb microSD card, and use this to store PDF and Word files and MP3 files. The machine syncs easily with Word. I had been worried about the battery life, but in practice I'm finding the battery lasts 2-3 days (approx 30mins telephone usage, 1h PDA usage per day). I only have a few niggles, mainly to do with the Windows Mobile operating system - there is no 'notes' facility in WM5, which I think is crazy for a PDA - I had to buy a third-party add-on (Phatnotes). One even more remarkable flaw in WM5 is that there is NO COPY AND PASTE! How can a Windows organiser be produced without copy and paste? The lack of stylus is no excuse. I have had to find a third-party add-on for this. Finally, I do have to reboot the system occasionally due to crashes. This happens twice a week or so, and is quite frustrating. Overall, a great machine which benefits from some third-party add-ons. I just wish Microsoft would sort out their operating system! Rob W

  • I've had this phone for around 3 months now. I am completely frustrated by it. I was only able to get the WAP browser to work so that I could see emails but the push email function did not work because i couldn't run the POP3 mail. Don't buy it. It's useless. It's cool for like a week, but ultimitely Samsung has no support for their phones online like Nokia does. Formfactor is great, it's small but at this point all i use it for is as a phone. I'm gonna get a Berry. Trust me unless you are very capable with software (thought i was) then skip this model. It's clearly not working for anyone now that i see other people with the same problems I had in North American providers. Nokia E61 was perfect as far as running an unlocked PDA on a random network. Nokia programs the whole phone by sending u a text message via their website. Could it be any simpler ?!.

  • Does anyone know why the CLI settings changes from "everone" to "no one" by itself? Every time I charge the phone it is reset to "no one"!!!!!

  • does the i320 and the 130n have the same processor? i ordered the i320 from my worldphone.com but received the i320n instead. those fools blew me off- no returns, no exchanges, no further communication. decided to keep it rather than resell on ebay. the processor seems so slow- it lags for several seconds just going through the menus. the review on this site claims that it is fast- maybe i'm not used to smart phones and several second lags are considered fast. also the n version doesn't have voice assist, voice dialing, or voice commands but the i320 does. after configuring the wap settings i was able to surf with the wap browser and built-in internet explorer browser but third party applications that required internet access couldn't connect. installed opera mobile browser- wouldn't work. radio feeds program- wouldn't work. yahoo Go! program- wouldn't work. all programs give a gprs settings error- despite endless tweaking and changing. settings will only work for built-in apps. i don't know if the n version is somehow limited this way while the original product isn't. as far as i know my phone is unbranded- although there was a bunch of arabic brochures in the box and preconfigured settings for various service providers from turkey, uae, saudi arabia, etc. has anyone else with this phone gotten it to work with third party apps and the internet? i'm on tmobile usa with the $5.99 wap plan.

  • It is a very good model. Just got it 1 week ago and having fun with it. But the problem I am having is that I can't recieve pictures for some reason. Can anyone help me out?

  • Great Phone !

  • Hated it, had it 3 days and sent it back to Vodafone, it feels like a pocket calculator rather than a mobile phone, the qwerty keyboard sounds like a good idea but in practice it is a major disadvantage, texting becomes a two handed exercise rather than a single thumb. Other things I disliked was the fact the charging socket connects on the side of the phone, this makes charging the phone very clumsey, also you need to remove the battery to remove the memory card. The Windows mobile OS feels like a poor imitation of Symbian badged as Windows, also the phone is not 3G which seems incredible, all in all its a terrible phone, avoid.

  • Does anyone know why the CLI does not work when the contact has been saved as an International number ex. 00492xxxxx and you receive a local call from that number 02xxxxx, the name of the contact does not show??

  • l hav no other idea how to adjust the backlight brightness.i know watching at screen of much lowered brightness can cause eye hurting a lot(i feel so)!so keep searching, maybe sth like "smart tweaker" can do the trick,or change other registry keys.hope anybody who can recommend it to us all will be much appreciated!i changed Gamma key in registry but it doesnt work.anyway, love it till sth comes up.

  • used it for 8 day, found battery life getting better a bit,hav 2 dim backlight from registry to prolong it.open regisry editor, open this path:local machine/system/currentcontrolset/control/power/state/on, see a "default",change the number key from "0" to "3".now u can get backlight dimmed at a constant lower level to save battery dramatically.just take battery out to get back to original setting.

  • used it for 4 day, whole material build quality and button durability is outstanding, buttons need very strong press, bright screen and visible under sun but not quite VGA res.battery life too surprisingly short to last for a day, always hav 2 carry a spare one.its as light as a paper, superslim!no note taking app inc,hav 2 buy ourself.few cracked apps aval.signal weak and unstable.wanna get E61.

  • for those people who dont know how to install java apps like opera mini, launch WAP BROWSER,then go to opera mini website download opera mini app,it will download and install automatically.then go to FUNBOX inside GAME,open it from there.

  • To have an mp3 play as your ringtone you need to place the sound file in the "sounds" folder. my windows mobile-based device -> application data -> sounds -> If you put the files there, you should be able to select them as you would any other ringtone that was previously available.

  • Does anybody know how to use the mp3 stored in the phone internal memory as a ringtone? I have an i320N.

  • Had the same problem. Keep trying. After my first try I switched to only vibrate and tried that. After that I switched back to ring and vibrate and it worked. Good look.

  • hi i cant figure out how to make the phone ring and vibrate at the same time ... i did go to the profiles and activated ring and vibrate but it didnt work and it just rang ... if neone can help me on this itll be gr8

  • I bought this phone after my Nokia E61. First it took me about 3 hours to set the e-mail settings. The battery has to be charged every night. Reception is poor. The phone did not work when other phones (such as sony ericsson, motorola and blackberry)with the same provider worked perfect. I am now back with the E61. Design is not everthing.

  • Does anyone have a dictionary for the phone?

  • Does anyone know how to set your mp3s into ringtones???

  • Nevermind, I called Tmobile. Talk to Tmobile Technical Support: Unsupported Devices or Advanced Solutions team. The quick fix was to change the band connection. To do this, go to Start - Settings - Phone - Band Connection - Current Band: PCS 1900 - Works only inside Americas: Yes. Then go back to Settings. Then to Phone - More - Networks - Network Selection: Manual - Menu: Find a New Network. Once it is done searching and finds a network, it may appear as Cingular Wireless instead of Tmobile. It is fine, it will just be named Cingular but will be using your Tmobile network.

  • I just got this phone, never having used a smartphone before and unaware of how to use it. Would anyone be willing to help me get started? I am using T-Mobile. I don't know which plan to sign on with - $5.99 T-Mobile Web? Currently I do not have a web plan. Also, the SIM card is inserted, but the phone cannot find a signal. How do I even get started? Sorry I am such a NOOB!

  • the phone is ok, but honnestly this is the worse battery i ever had. it just doesn t hold a day, you have to walk around when the second battery in your pocket, which alreay means everynight you charge both before starting your day....forget it....one big mistake

  • Eric, The browser is extremely slow with TMobile, even though I have edge, and subscribe to T Mobile Total Internet for $29, and it is not compatible with a lot of major websites. The Nokia E61 is a much better option. You can get a faster internet connection, a better browser, and the best part about it is, you don't even need the total interent package, you just need T-Zones for $5.99 and it picks up the internet via Edge. Also, the batter on the Samsung i320n sucks. It will get drained within 8-10 hours, of normal use.

  • Does anyone know where to get the lastest rom software for the phone. Thanks

  • This phone is a piece of crap. It's got so many problems and to even beam a file it doesnt work. The rom on the phone is not updated. CRAP

  • just wonderin ghow fast this device is with web browsing if i were to use this with tmobile. and anyone know if i can use aol AIM too instead of the pcoket msn messenger?

  • Hey, for those of you'll trying to set up the MMS feature with the Samsung i320n with TMobile, here are the Settings. Go to MMS/SMS-Menu-MMS Options-MMS Profiles-Menu-New-Profile Name (Tzones GPRS)-MMSDC URL: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms - Check Proxy - IP Address 216.155.165.50 - Port 9201 - Bearer GPRS - Menu - Advanced - APN wap.voicestream.com - Leave Username and Password Blank - DNS 1: 0.0.0.0 - DNS 2: 0.0.0.0 Done Exit Out It worked for me. If it doesn't work, call T Mobile Tech Support, Unsupported Devices. They should be able to help.

  • Had this phone for a couple of weeks. I'm not that impressed by it. Just the design is neat. I use it with T-Mobile in the US. Extremely slow internet connection, considering it has Edge, and I have and Edge connection. A lot of web pages don't open up, and a lot of them you can't navigate properly. Inferior Windows Explorer Browser. Not a lot available in terms of software, although it is a Window's Mobile 5.0 Device. Skype won't work on it. Opera browser for Windows Mobile won't either. And remember, just because some software is compatible with Window's Mobile 5.0, does not necessarily mean it will be compatible with this device. Battery life could be better, although they do provide an additional battery. MSN and Yahoo Mobile work fine. User friendly POP and IMAP mailbox setup feature. No WIFI, No VOIP, terrible browser, and a slow operating system, that often freezes up. Camera is totally ordinary. My other phone is a Nokia E61, and it just blows this Samsung away. With the E61, all in need is to subscribe to the $5.99 T Zones plan, and it picks up a fast internet connection, where I can surf the web just like I do on my desktop, full HTML, unlike the Samsung which is XHTML. Far superior display in the E61, higher resolution. VOIP, SIP features. Much faster and user friendly operating System. I can make internet calls anywhere in the world for free, when I configured it with pbxes and gizmo: as long as there is WIFI. The E61 is also about $100 cheaper than the Samsung. All in all, this phone is neat if you want to make a fashion statement.

  • what to do when you have more than 1000 contact in outlook list ? Is it possible to use SD card ?

  • i think for mms settings for t mobile you can go here try it out

  • Just got the i320n. i'm w/ Tmobile, does anyone know how to set up MMS messaging? i had no problem recieving pic messages with my nokia n80. thanks....

  • Can this phone sync with Lotus note

  • The picture on the left is of the i320. If you ordered the i320N then you'll get the one that is more angular in shape. It also has round buttons which are similar in layout to the Motorola Q. In my opinion the i320N looks better, but that of course is up to each owner.

  • i'm confused as to which pics are the i320 and i320n. i know one is a little longer thant the other, but dont know which. I believe the i320n has all black, round buttons. is that correct? and the i320 has the white numbers? just ordered the i320n thinking it was the one shown on this page which i prefer, but starting to think i'll be stuck with the round buttons.

  • SbSpecV - Text messaging worked right out of the box for me, however MMS messaging needed some different settings. I don't have those on me right now, but I'll find out and get back to you. I'll also see if there is any kind of setup for SMS messages... np - What's up? Anonymous- If you are using a Windows Mobile 5.0 Smartphone like the i320, it comes equipped with ActiveSync which will allow you to sync Outlook calendars, contacts, tasks, email etc. For the initial setup, you will need to have a wired connection, but after that the sync can occur wirelessly whenever you want. (this is assuming you have an Outlook Exchange Server) As far as syncing via bluetooth, I have not tried that as it is faster to just plug in the phone. And in reality, it can be set up to use your wireless connection to sync information from anywhere you have service, as opposed to only within 30ft of your computer.

  • not that familiar with smarthphones windows base, so can you sync data via bluetooth with your desktops outlook with this phone?

  • JP can you tell us how to set the setting for sending text messages and multimedia messages please???

  • I just bought this phone..its a great phone but i can't seem to set a mp3 ringtone.? does anyone know how to do it?

  • JP... i will let you know if i hear anything about the I670; let us keep in touch and thank you again; I now like the I320N.

  • Alfredo - Glad to hear everything is working! As for the i607 the only info I can find is the end of 3rd quarter... being that's that time is upon us, how about putting it at November 1st? Wouldn't that be cool? Really, though I have no idea.

  • Hello JP...I only have one thing to say: YOU ARE THE MAN!!!! thanks a lot...everything is working according to your instructions: absolutely perfect and accurate instruictions...now...since you are so good...tell me the date when the new I670 will come out; let me see if you can go that far. LOL....thanks again!!

  • Sorry. Don't know anything about T-Mobile, but I'm sure the settings are available online somewhere. The setup should be more or less the same as with Cingular, assuming that they are using the correct frequencies. By the way, any luck Alfredo?

  • Thanks JP, I appreciate it: tomorrow morning i will try to follow your instructions by the letter and let you know....meanwhile i saw the i607 WHOWWWW: I will definetly get that!!

  • Does anybody know the internet setting for TMobile?

  • Has anyone with the i320n had the screen freeze and fade away? This has happened a couple times with me and I wonder if it is my unit alone, or if anyone else is having a similar issue. I expect it to be hardware related, but that's beyond what I know.

  • Alfredo, go to settings -> connections -> GPRS When you get to that submenu you will see several different settings for GPRS, MMS, etc. (mine had about 9 different settings for 3 different UK carriers) Delete ALL the settings. This will leave you a blank screen under the GPRS submenu. Click the right softkey entitled "Menu", then select "add" For the name enter "Cingular GPRS" For Connects to select "Internet" For Access point enter "wap.cingular" For User enter "[email protected]" For Password enter "CINGULAR1" Primary DNS, Secondary DNS and IP Address are all empty. That's what works for me, from what I've found on the net and through talking with people. By the way, if you haven't already bought the phone I would recommend waiting for the i607. It's more or less the same as the i320n, except that it was just passed through the FCC by Cingular. It's 3G HSDPA, and you won't have to deal with all the setup. I was just looking at it on phonescoop dot com, but I'm sure you can find it elsewhere. Anyways, Good luck! And if you have anymore questions, I'll try to find some answers.

  • hey JP, abouit sharing those GPRS settings that you claim are working with Cingular? Thanks Alfredo

  • hey JP, abouit sharing those GPRS settings that you claim are working with Cingular? Thanks Alfredo

  • Used to have O2 bulky with 180gm. Waited for Motorola Q but of no avail in the market here. Saw i320n in the market. Scrutinized it before buying. Bought it because of its weight. Used it for the past 2 weeks. In my oponion it is a great gadget. Very light, slim and the display(tho small) but brilliant sharp. However for 40 above, need a pair of reading glass to appreciate the display. MP3 sound superd. SMS great. For notes and other important software, get the 3rd party software like Agenda X and notes. Working very well. Camera also good. Being using phone, sms, notes and MP3, this i320 is excellent. It fits well in the pocket and not that pricy too. Great phone. no regret.

  • What is the difference between the I320 and I320n. I also that some phones don't come with the cool white numbers.

  • Very good phone but the picture quality not so good and without 3G.

  • Alfredo - are you saying that the i320n cannot be connected to the internet via cingular? I have an i320n, and here in the LA/Orange County area it works great on the net.

  • everybody continues talking about the settings for cingular for the i320...do you guys want to understand that the i320n is a different phone and unfortunately the one being sold in the usa and there are no, i mean no settings to connect it to the internet via cingular. thanks alfredo

  • I juss switched from an 02 Mini S to this and i love it, its amazing, keys r a bit small but you get used to it. Only question i have if anyone can help me or email me is. how can i make my own song a ring tone. Ive tried everything to set ringtones i transfered from my comp as ringtones but i cant get it. thanks

  • In my opinion, as a phone this is an awesome device. I'm coming from the RAZR and the audio quality makes the RAZR sound like I'm talking talking through a tin can. I haven't noticed any kind of feedback when talking on the phone outside in a windy area (one of my big complaints about the RAZR). The sound out of the main speaker is fairly loud, but if you can't hear it for some reason you can always turn on the amazing speakerphone and use the two stereo speakers on the back to hear (great for bars). Also, I've been using Cingular and have noticed a few spots where I used to have service are missing now (probably due to the lack of the 850 band). One other complaint I have is every once in a while the screen randomly locks and fades out, and I cannot soft restart. I have to take out the battery, then everything works fine after that. (anyone else having that issue?) Also, I can browse all web sites; those designed for mobile phones and normal sites as well.

  • Could someone rate the phone quality. Like a real cell phone or another PDA second thought. Better or worse than latest Blackberry?

  • which EGPRS (EDGE) Class doe it have ?

  • Can anybody tell me if it can only browse wap pages? How about web pages? Many thanks !

  • Here is a link to connect your i320 to Cingular's internet.

  • You know that this phone is mainly a test to see how people like it then the main phones come out the following year blowing every other ones away. Look at the sgh-i600, supposed to have all the features this doesn't, all i hope is they don't use the 220mhz processor but use the 416mhz in this one, and make it quadband.

  • Did any one find out how to connect the Samsung i320n to the internet using Cingular service? I need help

  • setting for internet via Cingular: Connection Name: Internet-GPRS Data Bearer: Packet data Access Point Name: wap.cingular User Name [email protected] Prompt Password: No Authentication: Normal

  • bigga boy phone!

  • Great phone, gorgeous size and style...but does anyone know how to make it go in internet via GPRS settings in Cingular???? I tried everythong...went to all forums and websites to find settings...many different oprions but nothing appears to work. Has anyone been successful in getting this phone to go to internet with cingular? I also have an I320N. Thanks for your help. Alfredo

  • Actually i switched to this phone from Nokia 9300. The difference is so great, so my feeling that Nokia shall do something to stay in this buisness. The best things it has are: stereo playback, quite good camera/camcorder features, trouble free sync with outlook, it seems to be charging from USB (even its not documented feature), battery life is enough for 24 hours in my lifecycle (there are spare battery in the package, which you can charge separately), GSM reception not worse than Nokia. The strange things are: there is no possiblity to send contact by SMS (only by MMS/e-mail), no possiblity to configure GPRS to go off line after some idle time, no big variances with additional software (which is more question to microsoft), no possiblity to edit office documents and the build-in viewer is quite ugly, in MMS phone number shall be stored without any delimiters or it will fail to send. After all I'm satisfied and think it worth its money. Hope things i mentioned will be fixed in some software update.

  • I was wondering if any of you were able to send mp3 files to your phone. I have been able to send wallpapers and videos but not mp3 files through bluetooth...Any ideas?

  • just an fyi. I got everything working on the 320. I had to erase the factory settings for "connections" and input just the one for cingular. Also, the model I have is the 320n, which would account for the different look of the phone body and keypad.

  • Great phone. Awesome size and functionality. Everything works, I'm on tmobile.

  • by the way, this phone looks nothing like all the photographs... Much better, totally different design. The speakerphone is amazing, plus it comes with two batteries and an external charger. It's awesome so far, with the exception of being able to get on the net.

  • I just got this phone yesterday. Great looking/feeling/functioning phone, but i cannot get on the internet with Cingular. Anyone know how?

  • Hey everyone! I'm about to buy this phone, but I read in other site that the battery life is awful... it's emptu within 1 hours of heavy use!!! Is it rue for others users, or the guy just had a bad device? Thanks!

  • Got mine last week from cti-miami.com better than the Q but not perfect. Wish it had wifi.

  • Does ANYONE know if you can use this phone to share a GPRS internet connection with your laptop or not? Thanks for any tips.

  • 416 Mhz Intel processor in this small size !? There is EDGE for browsing and data transfer. Well, great business solution in great size: QWERTY keyboard, Camera, OS... Only ergonomic of Samsung phones is the bad thing...

  • I got mine today from www.omnicelusa.com I recvd my phone next day great price too.

  • As far as cti, they seem to be one of the cheapest right now...good or bad-unk.

  • I see it is available on CTI Miami. Did anyone buy from these people.

  • @Ax, Err... NOPE you can't fit a WiFi SD card to the I320. Firstly it only takes *MicroSD* cards.. and secondly they are fitted *inside* the phone's battery compartment (there is no externally accessible card expansion slot on the I320.) So there you go. Pays to do your homework before posting eh?

  • You can actually get an SD wi fi card to make this phone wi-fi capable.

  • I am raveling in Europe and had a chance to stop-in at a store in Paris to check this phone out...the piece is an abslute beauty and the perfect size for a combination phone/PDA...much better than the Q, the Nokia E61/62 or the Treo...however, lack of standard headphone jacks, wi-fi, and the fact that it costs a whopping $650 (unlocked) makes me pause at the moment, otherwise I had been eying to buy this phone as soon as it came out.

  • Crazy !!!

  • So far I liked samsung phones..but i dont know whats the point of releasing a smart phone for busness people without Quadband and WiFi. I know there is EDGE..but where is the HTML browser???..If Samsung is really serious about it..then they can easily give hard time to anyone be it NOKIA or MOTO or anyone..with this model by incorporating those features....no other brands has a slim and such a light model like this. It just lacks few things.Whats wrong in putting them together?

  • I'll jump over it if they care to put in wifi & quad freq. Even in the expense of taking out the camera for the sake of keeping the weight under 100gr.

  • Not much too point in WM5 with no WiFi and no 3G. Edge network not available in UK. Won't run Skype (Skype don't work over 3G let alone 2.5G). Browse internets over GPRS? Good luck with the speed and cost of that! Seems a bit pointless. Oh well. Next please!

  • actually, one of the reasons I am getting it is beacuse of the SD card so that I can combine my MP3, phone and PDA functionality all into one!!! is there an adapter for the propriatary headphone jack to the standard jack?

  • There you go..now you want a 3.5mm jact too. Ask yourself, does this look like a music phone to you! Get an adapter and use your ear-plugs if you are so desparate.

  • I was about to buy this phone and just realized the headphone connection is non-standard!!! Why??? I can't use the included headphones I use the newer ear plugs for my mp3 player)...any suggestions?

  • It looks great - but run a google for "HTC Excalibur" before you buy anything wwoooof ! its hot .

  • Samsung has released a i320 variant called i320n in Europe. Other than the slight change in appearance, there seems to be no difference in specs except for the following: i320: GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz i320n: GSM 800/1800/1900 MHz Also, no wifi !! :( Beats me why Samsung would shoot themselves in the foot by having a micro SD slot instead of a SD or mini SD. We can find mini SD wifi cards. Does anyone know if there's anything such as a micro SD wifi card?? Arrghhh

  • Too bad no wi-fi so no free browsing from Starbucks, hotel or workplace. otherwise it has perfect form factor.

  • Hello all, do you guys have any idea what nale will be used for commercialisation on the american market? (please...not the i320a) :) Thanks everyone

  • In i-320 mobile it is having obile TRAKER SOFTWARE is available.....

  • 3G i320 =)

  • Grrrr!! read people..the screen in 265K but microsoft windows mobile 5 doesn't allow more than 65K colors. Thats why it is 65K.

  • no need for 262k display as you hardly could tell the difference btw 65K and 262K colors. 65K is actually better cos it doesn't drain the battery as much.

  • Why on earth did Samsung only make a 65K display when so many of their newer models use a 262K display?! Otherwise, this is an awesome phone... even better than Nokia's version. Business men don't need a 16M color phone and they don't need more than 3 1/2 hours of talktime. That is more than enough and I would choose the samsung over the nokia anyday because a real true business man is on the move and portability is key. For 1/4th the size of the nokia in thinnest, and half the talktime, I would still go with the samsung.

  • yeah hot looks great! smaller than the Q actually. I'd def get it. And all this caca about samsung is copying moto: cut it out. They have like patent or design sharing deals, and that's why they produce similar stuff. Besides, all the hot phones are in Korea and they're all mad thin anyway... and yeah, I'd want all phones to be that thin, so uh, all companies, please "copy" the thin factor if you can

  • this phone is so sick im gonna buy it. :P :)

  • To the person poted below Im not sure what you meant, but there are some facts that you need to know. Samsung didn't came up with a razr type phone after several month. The fact is they have released it worldwide after several months. Samsung Lunched that design as V740 in Korea on the same day as of Motorola RAZR and that time it had better specs than razr. After an year an so we see that model coming up as D810 with a little bit of keypad modification and others. Check this link out. The Fact is Samsung releases their phones in Korea First. And it takes long time for the rest of the world to know it.They are not copying motos design. You are right, for a business phone wifi should be must and good battery life.Nokia has it..but its big and heavy..I assume business people dont mind to carry a big chunky phone. But after they see this small and light model they might change their mind and compromise on wifi. E61 is running on Symbian, it supports 16M color. moto Q and i320 has Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 which doesn't support more than 65k color. The sceen is 256k actually. Advantage of this hone is, its small and lighter, still has most of the features. Now its upto the people to choose.

  • to LUUU im not a big fan of motorola but did u realize that motorola made tha razr and then several months later samsung came out with a razr type slim fone i wonder were samsung got the idea oh yea wat about the motorola slvr a thin bar fone then several months later samsung came out with another slim fone almost identical to the slvr i wonder were samsung got the idea from and no way the wouldve copied it bec samsung is a real company that make great fones and never copy other companies......... not lol

  • u people r all takin about how thin and if it looks like a calculator common sence wen ur bying a SMART phone your going to need wifi and a really good battery becasue BUSINNES men use smartfones hu r always on the fone makin BUSINESS calls now tell me how a 3 hour bateery from the q or this samsung is gonna help nokia e series has a 8 hour talk time batery and wifi oh yea nokia has a 16 million color display and the q and this samsung only 65 thousand color display wat kind of smartfone is that my opinion go with the nokia thats a samrtfone and this is a toy or calculater wtever it is

  • anyone know what is the CPU for this phone?

  • Let's be fair here. Let not our judgements be blinded by Brand Loyalty. Looking at the capabilities and specification of the Samsung i320 and the Motorola Q. Samsung wins. The only thing that makes Moto Q to be percieved as a better than i320 is the looks which I agree. In closing I believe that this phone has got a lot of advantages compared to its competitors.

  • @adeem Thats how a bar phone with QWERTY Keyboard looks like..remote comtrol or what ever you call it..unless you design somthing new. Hope you post that same message in moto Q and nokia E61 as well.

  • samsung huh is this a mobile or a remote control of airconditioner... first they put mobile features in calculator (p900) and now in a remote hehehehe... bye

  • @adil since you have mentioned that this is a carbon copy of moto Q, then I wonder if you have noticed the keypad layout of moto Q. That is a trade mark of BlackBerry. i320 doesn't look like any copy in my point of view.

  • That the Q is quad band doesn't make it better, it's just where you use it ... and more technology, the more problems you can have. Samsung is (a bit) smaller and has normal mini usb, so no special cable, just use your digi-cam, webcam, or whatever cable you have lying around ... samsung it is for me :-) ... just my 2 cents.

  • adil i m agree with u tht motorola Q has quad band...but all other functions are same....but there is a diffrence of samsung factor in motorola Q.. :)

  • This Samsung is smaller and lighter than the Q and black (not silver) which makes it look even smaller again! This would definitely be my choice between the two....

  • marks, i disagree with you. You can see that this is a carbon copy of the Motorola Q- as a matter of fact, the Q is better looking, and it is a quad-band, which makes it better.

  • well no the technology that copy, but the concept. it just like the q most of the aspects...

  • a new dessign from samsung...no blackberry no nokia...its samsung..a company known for its high class technology not for copying...

  • i have a feeling this phone is not comfortable to hold. it's nice that it's thin but it's so wide. wide and thin = uncomfortable to hold haha. just like the moto slvr L7 it's nice and thin but it's wide so it was uncomfortable to hold. this samsung is even thinner and wider than the L7 so i can only imagine how it'll be =/ but nice features tho.

  • According to the news in South Korea on 14th June, now the product will be released. There is also a picture from the side. It is quite slim...!

  • It seems to me that every good idea the good folks over at Motorola come up with Samsung mirrors it. Oh well options are always good.

  • look as caculator

  • I was truly a fan of the Motorola Q. After seeing this phone, I quickly forgot about Moto! I just wish Samsung releases it in the US.

  • I like the look of it way better than the Motorola Q. Do all of these haters work for Motorola? Once a GSM version becomes available, I'm going to buy it. Btw, any word of when that might be?

  • the phone has 128 mb shared memory so it can take about 100 mins of video, and it can take even more than that depending on the size of the memory card

  • what the hells wrong with samsung??!!! another calculator in the making!! is samsung penetrating the calculator market?? hello poh??!?? telepon... jackamawatan!!!

  • does anyone know if it can take long video

  • no this is not calculator, but this is more like a blackberry

  • Wow......Another calculator by Samsung. Samsung is making a move to penetrate calculator market. Good Luck Samsung.

  • hey gud news pplz,,,,in the specs of i320 they didnt mention that if this fone has a flash,,,,well this fone has flash i saw this mobs video and in that video the mob was tested in the video mode of the fone there was an option of flash on or off this means it got flash so cam disppointers dont be too much dispointed coz it atleast got flash!!hehe

  • JOE plzzz send the link where u saw that this fone has infra,,,,,,nd plzzzzz can anyone tell that when is this fone releasin!!!!

  • would like to buy one. hope samsung to launch it soon.

  • Samsumg i320 does have an Infrared Port. Please correct the specs.

  • Sorry about the "under 100mm" statement...I meant to say that, that's how they kept is smaller than any other Brand.

  • I do agree with you "Antz" the design could have been better but then you cant keep is small. I belive while designing Samsung kept in mind to make it as compact as possible...thats what it makes it stand out from the rest of the crowd. If you see the screen..it has 320 width and 240 height. but moto/nokia/benQ has 240 width 320 hight...thats how samsung kept it under 100mm...and so it looks a bit weird.(Personally I liked the BenQ design.)

  • Can anyone confirm if this has voice dial via bluetooth? Some reviews says it does, but here does not...

  • the fone's neat, but the shape isn't soothing, it looks gawky! D600 was gr8, d870 even better ( THIS is perfect JH!). A more subtle design like moto Q / nokia e 61 would be preferred, although this one is definitely more functional and a better combo overall.

  • A 2.2 inch screen? That's smaller than the screen on the 5G Ipod! I think the HTC Wizard's 2.8" screen is about as small as you'd want to go and still have a comfortably usable Pocket PC device.

  • Im sooo much with you. This is the most compact phoen/PDA ever. and "JH" stop the crap. All new samsung designs are on the same line and some looks even better than D600.Cheers!!

  • This phone is by far the best design phone/PDA combination out there. If it had WI-FI, there would be no reason to have further discussions. I'm just disappointed that it doesnt run on the 850 frequency. The 1900 frequency in the US causes call to be dropped all over the place. Ask T-Mobile!

  • SAMSUNG is making too much useless phones! Damn let me work at SAMSUNG and i show you how i do! much better then these phones! Got D600 and it's perfect! At this time all new models are so ugly and doesn't have a finishing touch! Damn shame on SAMSUNG!

  • No 850 so I'll have to wait for the Motorola Q like the rest of us in North America.

  • it have edge, still no 3g and wifi thats why its smaller. i would say it no better than it competition probably the lest feature one. well at least it have EDGE.

It makes Q look HUGE. Another interesting Shot with Treo 700W,Q and Hw6900. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THERE IS NO INFO about PROCESSOR SPEED in most websites. Nokia E61 and SE M600 has no camera and runs on same OS, but then M600 is 3G with touchscreen and no EDGE which makes it Not in the same category. Moto Q and i320 have pretty much same features but in different size and design. They are all unique in design. The Choice is up to you, whether you wanna carry a brick size heavy E61 or a compact i320. And please stop posting crap about copying. Design-wise all of them look different. rather Moto Q used the same Blackberry key (\ /) format. Cheers!

  • all i can say is Moto Q-killer

  • does any one know about RAM & ROM of it ?

  • its huge

  • if you like to someone to look at you then buy samsung phones because if you have it, you will be the richest...

  • does anyone know about the speed of the processor

  • it's great, does anybody know about the procesor?

  • This is even better than nokia E60..do you agree?

  • A real monster...

  • all i can say about the phone's looks is: uurrrrrgggghhh but hey this a business phone so it doesn't matter. Although, would you really want to pull that out of your suit while in a board meeting?

  • It looks like a Blackberry, with a camera.

  • To imran What do you expect from the coreans. The copy everythis. Black berry was an inevitable copy. They take the wests ideas and make them better. You've got to give samsung credit. They might copy the stile of others, But the always make them function 100% better. They are miles in front of everyone else in terms of technoligy

  • this looks like more of the latest blackberry clone..c'mon samsung..i mean wot the hell are ur designers doin? gettin paid to steal ideas from other companies? the features on this fone is great...so y not hve an original design.. i swear some of the new samsung phone models are the ugliest i've seen in a long time( calculator anyone?)

  • crappy imitation of sony ericsson's m600 and nokia's e61. seems like samsung is threatened by its two huge rivals. hehehe

  • looks reasonably small for a PDA type device. features are not quite up there with some of the rival companies similar models, but maybe its size will win it sales!
