i have a samsung i907 epix and it is one of the most advanced phones i have ever seen, is a fully 3g phone which make it very good to be used on the internet. i only wish that it had a 10 mega pixel or more front and back camera, and can use two sim cards and two memory cards. it could have been a little lighter with an an anti virus system and a recycle bin and it would have been the ultimate cellular phone or should i say pocket pc.

epix is a nice phone, its right you buy it and its great when you xperience it..... not a gaming non music phone for music lovers instead don't buy...... but for those who are into businesses. it has a grt processor and it can be nice during conversation. buy it and upgrade to wm 6.5 if you like or stick to ur wm6.1.

Initially, I doubted if the screen was touch sensitive but then when I held it in my hand, all my doubts where gone. It is a touchscreen, no doubt. Great item, but then couldnt we get a little more than 2.0 megas on the camera?

YES IT IS A TOUCH SCREEN,i have one. It is touch screen and stylus. It is pretty much the twin of the i780.

So far, the Epix is one of the best phones I have ever owned and I was a previous iPhone owner! So much about this phone is Epic that they rebranded the name to Epix for signifying that it is epic on more than one level. It has everything you could ever need! Quad-Band GSM World Phone (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) Wi-Fi, HSDPA US 3G, Bluetooth 2.0+A2DP, a 624MHz Marvell 32-Bit Processor, 150MB of RAM, 75MB free after booting, 2.55" Touchscreen, full QWERTY Keyboard, Optical Mouse, GPS with A-GPS support, an 1800mAh battery(!), a 2MP Camera with Video support and not to mention the Windows Mobile 6.5 update which is being released for this phone, not counting the un-official one that has already been released. The phone is a steal at around $100 used and only an extra $3-$5 to unlock it if needed!

I am looking to see what other people have experienced with the i907. I am wondering why everyone is talking about the i780. Don't you have another string for that phone? I have three of these i907's and as a small businessman I have bought 200+ phones over the last 31 years (first cell phone was mounted in my truck in Dallas in 1978 - I even remember the brand - Novatell) While I love Samsungs TV line - I have a 67" Samsung that's great, I have to say this is the very worst phone I've ever had. Not just by a hair over the second worse phone, but by magnitudes. In fact it is the wost, most undependable, buggy and frustrating piece of electronics of any kind that I've had. Understand that we have three of these and they all do the same things. Without going into detail I can tell you that any given button of command may or may not work or may not consistently do the same thing. The ringer may work and then it may not. I have yet to figure out how to answer calls every time without hanging up on people. I hit the answer button on screen - it hags up. Next call I try the green hard fixed button - it hangs up. They call again this time it works. The browser works sometimes and sometimes not. The GPS works sometimes but not too often. Calling out is pretty good In 10 tries at least 7 ring through. The simplest most basic usability features aren't there - for instance: As you look down your email list you want to select and delete a junk email. On a Blackberry I would roll down to the email in the list and delete it. With the i907 you have to open it and then delete it. It sounds minor but this is an expensive phone whose product team seems to have been smoking something very expensive. I could tell you of 20 different things that sometimes work and then sometimes don't on this phone. It is just a really horrible phone. If you are one of the people I see on the Samsung site that say its wonderful:) well I will sell you three at a big discount. Smoke signals are much more reliable. Did I mention that even when it is locked it arbitrarily calls my mother in law. Holy crap - my mother in law - i907 is the phone from hell.

evo here from jamaica, mi luv my i780 there is no other samsung to replace this one right now. at work my i780 makes the black berry bold n others look not so smart. I am an IT "freak" and my i780 complements me. stick to what you have until something "mad" touch di road. lata peeps.

just bought this phone b/c i wasnted a good smart phone and since att dosn't carry a sony ericsson smart phone this seemed to be the best choice. faster processer than the iphone 3g s, good battery life, runs the best web browser aka skyfire. nice camera. good sturdy and quality design dosn't activate in pocket if you let the screen go off. runs my msn mail like a charm. only wish the speakers where a little louder like the ones on my sonys. despite what people say about the keypad i like the stiffer keys feel higher quality and arn't bumped easily.

I've had the Epix for 2 months now and its a decent phone. I'm on T-mobiles Network so i can't use its 3g but processing speed on Edge is still decent. One of the things i dont like is the touch screen. It works decently but sometimes you might need to press down a little harder than you would with other touch screen phones. My Treo 750's screen was def. easier to use. WM 6.1 runs pretty well on the epix's fast processor. There's hardly any lag even when your multitasking. I'm a big WM phone but WM is really getting outdated. Using the scroll bars to scroll gets pretty annoying with the epix's fair touch screen. WM 6.5 is soon to be out, i just hope the hacked version will run smoothly on the Epix.

The phone isnt that much better than the blackjack 2. I really like that it has wifi. All in all this phone is a great phone to get if you do not have the blackjack 2.

since it has 'Pocket Office', you can definitely edit/create documents.. if it was only for viewing purpose, then the description would have said that it has 'Document Viewer'. the specs looks pretty good.. go for it!

Wish people would stop saying this is an E71 copy...cause it isnt. The two phones are different in many ways. Also....the EPIX is a NEW updated version of the i780 and i788, simply put one is tri band and runs WMPE 6.0 while the other runs WMPE 6.1...The EPIX runs a different A-GPS capable GPS chip than the older one. Why do people question the screen quality and the Media capabilities, there are stacks of people who couldnt give a rats fat bum about dodgy phone cam specs and watching an AVI file, all I want is a portable modem, a note taker, something that can run Tom Tom Nav and take and recieve all my calls...It doesn't need to play 5.1 sound and HD video on a 2.5" screen....I have a TV and home theater for that. Seriously...it's a business phone, not a toy for watching Family Guy on on the way to work, thats why the gimmicky iPhone was invented. Who gives two cents over Nokia's E71 anyway...it's Symbian powered. Simply put, this is a great phone, kept to a simple yet effective business model. Well done Samsung, just ditch the AT&T exclusive release and start selling it world wide....

this is a great phone! i had it for about a week and was ready to send it back because it wasn't easy to use. but... once i realized that this is a computer that does phone stuff (not a phone that does computer stuff), i adjusted how i approached it, and it's so much better to use. the mouse i rarely use, but is handy & immediatley available. the touch screen is good. the epix is really sleek. all the negatives i have experienced are WM's problems, not the epix's fault. i've had it a over a month now, and it's still awesome. it's not perfect, but there are few others with these features.

This phone is great. It's powerful, stylish, and has many many features. Mobile business at its finest. However, it's far from perfect, it's not a great play toy like the iPhone and the touch screen, while functional, is a little dim-witted, and only a 65K color display? C'mon Samsung...my two, almost three year old Nokia 6300 is pumping out ~16M. Granted this is a business phone and not a mobile theater, a little refinement isn't too much to ask. For spoiled kids/novice users who want to look cool and all they do is text and call, this is not a device for you. Please, spare us the dignity. It's just too much, both in features and bulkiness. This phone means business and honestly, that's what it should be used for.

I agree with you on the fact that it has the same features, but im an ATT user and correct me if im wrong but ATT 3g network needs umts/HSDPA 850 / 1900 for it to work properly? And the i780 you speak of DOES have the same features but, doesnt have the type of network for it to be accesible under 3g network. Therefore, i think that that is the only major differnce, yes?

damn people read the specs before you trash it. i780 is 3g for all other continents other than US. 3g network in US is on a differnt band. i have the i780 and i love it. epix doesn't have the 2ndary video which is weird since i assume they didn't have 1 to begin with before the 3g network because it's slow. now that the 3g network is faster, why not have the 2ndary video for video conferencing. haven't seen/touched the epix but looks promising.

I can't figure out why Samsung came up with this phone. Comparing to its predecessor i780, the only notable differences listed re the battery capacity of 1800mAh and the RAM at 150MB. But the talk time shown is still 7hrs (which is same as i780)?! So what's the diff? And whatever happened to the secondary VGA videocall camera? It's not there anymore...why then 3G? Do let me know the significant difference...apart from the OS WM6.1 (whereas i780 comes with only WM6...which is upgradeable to WM6 now)

Why some people are talking about this being copy of E71 I wonder. This design came from i320 in feb2006 then got released in different name as i600/i607 Blackjack/ Black jackII/i780 and then came i907. Blackjack was there for long when E71 was in the drawing board. Where do you think E71 came from??? It was E61 then E62 and E61i. It's actually Nokia who changed their monster brick design to come up with E71. Not the other way around. Have a look before you post something.

I am using samsung epix from last 3 days and I liked it specially the sensor/ Its a great phone with very good sound quality even on speaker. The GPS is good and fast on at&t navigator. Camera is really good and much much much much much much better then blackjack II, video recording /quality is very good. Camera picture quality is very good. What else should I write? the touch screen is great and it works great. GSMARENA I love you!!!!!! but you gave this phone 6.0 rating please try the phone and then do the rating again. The onlly concern is the phone is little thick but its very light Thanks !!!!!!!!

This phone seems better than A767 which is for AT&T too... Great features, nice display(if it was vga it should be perfect),good keypad, 2mp camera which it seems enough for this kind of phone.... It has all the things a business man needs, wifi, gps, touchscreen, good display, good camera(if you need it to take photos at files or something), qwerty keypad, expandable memory, bluetooth... design is passable and conservative... nothing much interesting.. It looks like a copy of e71 but you must think this phone is for US market and not for europe... e71 is for almost all the world but AT&T is a big company in US phne market... Design: 6.5 (just passable, good metal casing) Features: 9 (great features, it has all... maybe the thing it can improve is the camera but is a business phone) Performance: 7 (just good)

I believe the i907's older brother, the i780, was released way much earlier than the e71 so it can't be an e71 copy. This however has much better specs (quad-band GSM, tri-band HSDPA) than the i780. it has WM6.1 too..

Nice phone - I tried it out at the ATT store this weekend and the track ball(touch sensor) is fantastic - and eliminates the weak link of a mechanical ball that can get dirty. I would probably consider this over the Bold due to the lower cost and the Windows format. Cons: Camera resolution Screen resolution (though not bad)

Well, on what ground one can say its copy, well, e71 is on Symbian and it is operated by Window 6.1 and its got a modest camera and e 71 has brilliant auto focus camera and it is more likely to be that this handset is for the the AT&T American user not for the European Market but the E71 is for the whole world
