My Samsung Pixon 8.0 M8800 keeps bringing up the Samsung fun club screen when i switch it on and after a while starts up again and keeps recyling to that screen. Have tried removing and replacing the battery but same thing happens; it keep stopping at the Fun Club screen and then repeating after a little while. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? It happened after i had cropped a photo that i had Bluetoothed across from another phone (received by email from a friend on that phone). My Pixon has been a great little phone up until now.

This is the worst phone that I have ever come across. This phone was a complete waste of money. Not only did it not work correctly it was also completely overpriced. I got stuck in a £1000 contract with this phone and after 5 months with it I could not even sell it for £50 because it was such terrible phone. After 5 months I stopped using it and went back to my previous phone which was an old nokia. I would rate this phone 1/10. This phone has put me off purchasing another samsung product for the rest of my life.

In retrospect, quite happy with the Pixon. Had the Pixon for 3.5 - 4 years now. Used it actively for 2 years as primary phone. Today, Pixon has grown "old" with the arrival of the Galaxy family. As for durability, the Pixon touchscreen has just shown first signs of failure to respond to fingertip instructions. So, all I hope is that new phones like the Galaxy S can make it as long as the Pixon did !

I got this phone from my uncle last year and its very perfect for me. Love the phone! But last month, I experienced some problems regarding the screen. It can't be touched!!! tsk. after a few hours of restarting it over and over again, it became alright again. And then after a few days, the unlock key which is in the lower left side of the phone is not working anymore.. up until now, it still won't work..=,c I can't make any outgoing calls abroad where I have to dial in the screen after calling a certain number. The in-call functions can't be used with this phone. And I have to be very careful with this touch screen because I cannot lock the phone anymore. I have to remove the battery to use it once it has been locked. And its kind of sensitive considering the fact that its a touch screen. One time, I almost deleted ALL MY CONTACTS because of the non-functioning lock button. What should I do??? Can anyone help me?=D pLease......=) ♥...Thank you!!!...♥

This phone is great. Camera is superb and video is just wow! The only disadvantage of this phone is touch screen technology. Capacitive Touch screen is more better than Resistive. Badly this one has Resistive. This is the phone I've bought after my SGH-G800

for when it freezes (mine does too) using your palm put pressure on the bottom of the screen and slide your palm all the way up the touch screen.

Android isn't and will never be available for this phone...Update the firmware?-Yes (This might fix GPS problem, it worked for me. I recommend version M8800XEIE1)

Same for me. Great phone at that time, but after 1 year the screen went irresponsive and could not use it...Did not bother to repair it, just bought Samsung Wave far better and really great. I guess they design phones to work no more than 1 or 2 years to make people buy new ones.

You just need a new digitiser. it's the glass over the actual screen, and should be easily replaceable. try ebay :-)

very good phone much quicker than current one, main downer is the lack of wifi in the phone. very good camera not many beat it, the mirror widgets is also a plus since it means you can quickly sort yourself out. one major fault is that if you over charge the battery it will destroy it, either via the phone or external charger. and this is very easy to do on the first charge since you need to charge it for 6 hours only. once the battery is destroyed it'll only hold a charge for about 3 hours in use and maybe 6 when not.

using it for past 1 yr. Touch screen sensitivity was good initially. But now its giving problems. Also software support is very poor. No good updates of firmware. GPS doesn't work well. plus a lot of other basic problems, like u don't have " ' " key directly while typing sms which makes it pretty irritating at times. Camera is good in daylight. But flash isn't good enuf in night (though better than most of the phones, but far worse than digicam). you can't put shortcuts for applications on main screen. you can't lock/hide files and folders from others. you can't search contacts by name in phonebook, you've to scroll down the whole list always! calender and organizer are also not good. bad typing experience! Few positives: good camera good speakers touch comparatively better than most of the phones (except iphone ofcourse!) Overall, not recommended at all. Bad value for money! you better buy a decent digicam and a cheaper mobile. Mobile cams can never be good due to bad flash.

I would not recommend this phone to anyone. Cost me 17 grands and conked off within 6 months. The screen would freeze for no apparent reason. The service center replaced the screen for free but it is been 6 more months and the phone is started acting funny again. Now even the warranty is finito.

I use this phone for like 16 months now.. Though the 8mp is attractive but then it doesn't work that well as compared to SE's 8mp phone.. The worst is that the auto-focus didn't help much.. I get mostly blurred photos.. It does reacts somehow slow if you're a fast typer for sms.. The phone is great overall. I love Samsung's music player, the best I've ever used. I love everything about M8800 other than the camera.. =D

It has everything. Camera is superb. It can upload photos directly to facebook, picasa...etc. If you decrease the screen brightness to lowest and network range to GSM you can use the battery 3 days. with internet use music and camera. Use XEIE1 software for GPS supported firmware version. In simple its cool phone.

this phone is so bad. - start with speaker, it is reasonably loud but not very good quality, no two speakers? - touch screen is so annoying and respond very slow. for example, im trying to look at one picture, i touch it and it doesnt become full screen, i had to touch it several times. - 500mhz cpu < very powerful but is it even 200mhz? it is so slow that i cant take it. i had n95 8gb, nokia phones which most people always complained about the speed. and those 'slow' nokia phones i had were quicker and doesnt make me go mad. - the battery is very bad. it was fully charged. i went to training and i didnt even check my phone that often, 2hours training, from 100% to 60%. where has the 40% gone? without me doing anything like listening to music, going to internet etc.

have had this phone for 2 years, works awesome, have over 1000 songs and sound tracks loaded plus it takes good video IF you cut the volume down first. sorta not too sensitive with the screen touch, great batter life if you dont use the net often. can go days without charging mine if i dont check email. lotsa accessories available from cellphoneshop.net cheeeeap covers, ect. i use occassionally with adapter to run thru my sound system.

Go to settings, enter into the phone profiles, then select any of d profiles, there u'll get d auto-reply option. Just turn it of Thats it! The auto-reply message is deactivated on ur cell phone.

Have used this fone for over a year. Specification wise this fone looks more than value for money especially 8MP camera is awesome. However,d touch is not very good. Infact, i had to change the entire touch panel four times in this one year. Battery hardly lasts a day. Above all the proprietary OS of Samsung is worst. Its a very nice phone. It has all i needed. i never missed good times with its 8MP camera. Its soud quality also good. It can use as HSDPA modem to use with computer. New PC suite reduses over heating of phone when it connected to the Internet. I love this phone very much...:)

I'm VERY Disappointed with the Samsung Pixon, I've had the phone for about 6 months when it started giving me troubles, the touch screen is a disaster!!! Apparently behind the screen is a ic that is a fault on the pixon, and only samsung can replace it at a high cost, R1600.00!! Struggled for about 6months when i decided to get myself the Sony Ericson X10, now thats a phone!!!!!

i love this phone. even if i don't have my digicam with me, my pixon takes care of it. i love its smile shot and 8mp camera. it's slim and all the features i need esp music. down side only is it doesn't have wi-fi and its stylus is dangling around.

Whew, lots of things i have to say about this phone....mostly positive....this phone is good...been using this for almost 2 years now..upgraded the firmware to M880BXXJA2, so far no problem at all...it has been fast since the original firmware when i bought it...the camera features are great for a mobile phone...every places i went i took pictures and the quality of the photos impresses me, but cant compare it much to a digicam which is still a preferred choice...the sound is great especially the 5.1 SRS, playing it on my stereo speakers...playing movies also cool...some comments posted about poor battery life..well, for me it last for 3 days normal use...but when using the 3G, music, videos, calling, it last 1.5 days to 2 days which still is quite good...call quality also good, and texting, for me, is okay i dunno with others....signal reception is excellent.....WIFI seems to be the letdown for others, but its ok with me...I have my IPHONE and ITOUCH and LAPTOP for wifi...hehehe....different users, different opinions..so there it is, my pixon perception....by the way im from the Philippines.....Thanks....

After 2 years ? Works great, no scratches on big touchscreen (used protective case). Fell once from hip height on carpet, no damage. Yummy part of Pixon are its big screen, camera, pics, video (mp4) and use of 16 GB micro SD card. Works well when converting videos on puter. Dont need a smartphone, so I'll keep this one for another year or two. Device buttons could be better (on-off buttons, locking button).

Really bad phone, touch screen went bad after 12 months and it kept unlocking in the pocket very often, don't recommend it.

A simple way to resolve the screen problem, press the picture key and until it shows they pics. then keep swipe your finger on the screen until it moves, then you will find everything works again!

After nearly two years of good service, now the screen has problems: for three days I could not use the screen which was very unresponsive. But now it is Ok . Very strange. Have lost the faith in it, as I must have a reliable phone. Was great in its time, but now time to buy a Wave.

The phone is nearly two years old now, so it is outdated especially for a touch screen when technology improves so fast. But i still have it and i am very happy with its great camera. It is easy to use but has poor battery. This phone was a milestone for Samsung, showing the world that Samsung wanted to become number one. So great phone in its time, but now the Wave is a far better choice even if more expensive. (I believe Nokia N8 will be a disappointment as all Nokia lately)

i have been using the M8800 for the last two years and have found it to be a solid piece of kit.the only down side is its not compat with all networks i.e vodaphone so if you do change networks make sure you can access the internet otherwise you have an expencive calander.

I really love this phone, great camera and very easy to use. Don't forget it has nearly 2 years already, and was top in 2008. After 2 years mine still looks like new, when all my Nokia were broken after 6 months. But now in 2010 it is time to get a new one: Wave for sure.

the phone is outright bad. i hv used it for 13 months now and this phones comes with no really upgrade options in terms of f/w, s/w and apps. the music player is just ok, but nothing gr8. camera quality is mediocre given 8MP capability & night shooting is BAD. voice recording the audio is bad. no GPS or Wi-Fi. calendar functionality is limited and sync options are strictly below par. finding contacts in the list is cumbersome. battery life is poor. Some good bits touchscreen is responsive and fast. never did calibration for last 1 yrs. internet browsing is fast. So in all, it neither a good Multimedia or Smart Phone.

Its a good phone tho i agree the battery life is low but the camera quality is good , touchscreen is nothin special but few features like the digital FM recording is smothin i never seen in any other mobile. I guess i had a good bargain for my money.

I have had this phone now a year and a half and i'v got to say this is the worst phone i have ever had, i have had 2 samsung phones in a row past 3 years and i can safely say i will never purchase one ever again! i dont usually go by phone manufacture but from now on i'll be avoiding... it has its good points its true the battery is very quick to charge and lasts a good wile, plenty of app's and the camera is the best i'v ever used but dosent make up for the bad points am afraid... the touch screen feels horrible and gets very frustrating especially when scrolling down the side app menu (constantly dragging out apps by accident!!) the internet is awful loads up alot of pages text ONLY! the side lock button is so easy to knock unlocked wile walking around in your pocket theres a few more but the worst thing is that i'v had it taken back and replaced twice since i got it for the whole phone freezing up and i do look after my phones... dont expect everyone to agree here but if none of this happens to you then your very lucky and good on ya! not for me.

Dont go for this phone. Touch screen function will stop working within 8 to 10 months. Camera does not do a great job at night. These are the only 2 drawbacks.

Really Great phone, and very cheap now. But sound for loud video recording not so good, lock key too sensitive, difficult to install application, battery too small, no standard jack and usb. Have it for 1 1/2 years already, time to change for the Wave which will correct all this and therefore near perfection.

M8800 is great phone. Its user friendly and easy to use. The battery issue which i saw in others comments, if u charge the battery for first three use by draining it completely and then charging for atlest 8-9 hrs the battery life will increase atleast upto 72 hrs with normal use. The only minus points of this phone is the touch screen sometimes malfunctions, there is no beep ringtone if required u have to compulsorily use it in a vibrating mode, nights pics are not so clear adequate light is required for clarity in pics the flash does not serve to its complete strength. Otherwise, this phone is very nice and i am happy to use it.

just shift the widget to the widget bar... it should close the application. (make sure that the music is off/paused. Alternately, you can go to music player and stop from there and then shift the widget to widget bar.

I am using this phone quite some time now and have not faced any issue for far as. The biggest draw back of this phone is not having WLAN :( , also life of battery on GPRS / EDGE lasts for only few hours; like 2-3 hours max, but with normal usage it cover 1.5 day easily. It has awesome Video / Audio Quality , Camera is too good in Day light, but not good for indoor shooting with dim lights. Video Recording it even better than still cam.

I would not recommend this phone. Had one for almost a year now... the touchscreen malfunctions frequently, it would either respond to a wrong key or not respond at all. After a few days or a week, it will work normally but I have to go through this every now and then. Its bad when you need to respond to an important message. Another glitch is it shuts off by itself even if I just charged it. Photos during night time are terrible. The camera can only be relied on during a bright sunny day. My phone still looks as new as the day I bought it but no one seems to be interested to purchase it now, not even for half the price. Very low resale value. Very disappointing.

Strange. Yesterday the touch screen became erratic, would press the wrong key, would not let press what i want. Could not make calibration because menu unavailable to press. Took the battery out to no avail. After an hour i was ready to bash the bl**dy thing when everything went back to normal! Like last year when the camera and video could not focus right for an hour also... But still happy with the phone, won't get other phone even free.

Poor video sound in loud places in what will make me change this otherwise very good phone. Samsung is not interested in making upgrades, prefer to sell new phones. Pixon 12 has the same sound codec so same bad soud. They changed the sound codec of Omnia HD, but now the HD video is choppy. I guess the only thing is to buy a Samsung with more processing power like the new Samsung Wave....Anyway apart from this pb i am very happy with the phone.

You are right, sound in loud place is terrible for video, that is the only thing that makes me want to get a new phone, after 1 year and 1/2. Will surely get a Wave with HD and autofocus video recording .(disappointed with Nokia, and don't know SE)

I got this phone on contract and not impressed at all. Smart looking phone but thats as far as it goes. Battery life sucks, Capturing video at a party sucks cause the sound on playback is distorted also when receiving email it cant distinguish between word or excell. Unless u have dainty fingers then to send a sms would kinda be ok.

With moderate usage if i turn it off at night i charge it every 2 days, which is OK. - Decrease brightness of screen to minimum, - Choose your network mode(no automatic and no UMTS), - Select your network manually, - Turn off vibration. It will last longer.

When the handset gets slightly warm, eg when you had it against your ear for a call lasting a few minutes, the touchscreen malfunctions. Thereafter sms`s are impossible as the onscreen qwerty keyboard does not work or pushes its own buttons randomly. Any one else that has had this experience? is it a battery problem?

Absolutely no bug (installed the last firmware with Multiloader 5.6), and installed java gaves with TK FileExplorer. Use google. Great phone for 2 years already.

I have just been reading through some of the comments on here and i just wanted to say that i have had this phone for 18 months now. I have never had any problems. The battery life is fine, browser is fine, touchscreen is fine, hold button works fine, screensavers are fine, speaker quality is fine, loudspeaker is fine, everything about it is fine! I would recommend it in a second. Its the best phone i have ever had (and i've had a few...)

I haven´t tried, but if you enter to the "Admin" screen of the phone, you can set it as a A-GPS device. So far I've been very happy with it.

My Google maps is never able to pinoint my exact location... Always approximated. Google says it happens when you phone does not have GPS, and has to use cell information to approximate. Does it mean the GPS of this phone is not activated or does not exist? And how can i get Latitudes working on my google maps?

i posted that long 13 point problems with the phone. it is not for any reason other than to warn you about the problem. it is samsung who go onto all the internet websites and write fake positive reviews about their products. i upgraded the firmware from dark forest group 6 months ago, i can tell you that it made little difference. i don't for one second believe that anyone is happy with this phone, that is impossible. it is atrocious.

Grrr, this phone is perhaps the most irritating of all time. I have spent the last couple of hours just trying to sort out the internet, it has the worst browser I have ever known. Just to add a homepage you have to create a new profile, it won't display websites properly even BBC, it is impossible to get iplayer.. I can't even get to the download page. It took ages to get the phone to work with Youtube. The 3 screen homepage sucks as do the widgets. I can't stand this phone, previously had an N95 which was the best and now also have an Nokia 5800 which works ok. Do not, for the love of God get this phone will only end up disapointed.

problems with samsung pixon: 1) The hold button does not work and the phone dials numbers in your pocket. 2) The screensaver pictures can not be changed, so you have to put up with pictures of flowers and other crap. 3) There are no widgets and applications available for the phone what so ever. 4) The browser is slow and you could say useless and when you try and read the text it zooms in and out all the time, you can not view the text cause you have to scroll left and right all the time cause the zoom does not work correctly, so you end up not using the browser because it is such a pain to use and very frustrating. 5) The photo browse application does not work. 6) The on screen keyboard is crap. the dictionary does not work, does not store new words and it has a mind of its own. 7) The phone keeps turning itself off, (my phone is not faulty as i have had it repaired 3 times and it still does the same thing, they have even given me a new phone and it still does the same thing) 8) The touchscreen is very unresponsive and sometimes takes 3 or 4 pushes before it selects what you want to. 9) The messages, inbox, email, rss they have a limit and when it is full you have to actually manually delete them to clear up space, which when you have 180 sms in your inbox and you have to scroll right to the bottom and select each sms and select delete to be able to receieve new messages... pathetic. 10) the battery life is terrible, if you do anything with the phone, as in , listen to music, record a video or take a few pictures, the battery is used up pretty much instantly and if you have it full charged by the time you leave in the morning it will run out before you are ready to leave work. 11) Advertised that the phone can read pdf files, this is a half truth, it can open extremely small pdf files with no pictures, anything over 8mb in size and it comes up with an error. 12) practically impossible unless you are an IT expert to upgrade the firmware or even copy java games on to the device. 13) the camera quality is not that great, the video quality is good for a phone, high resolution, but the quality is not that great. just because it is 8mpx does not mean that it is going to be good quality, and i can assure you that a 5mpx cameras that i have seen far better than this samsung pixon. take my advice, do not buy this phone, it is a waste of money and especially do not buy it on a contract or you will feel ripped off like me. :(

Hi if you want to unlock your phone from the automatic lock setting, you need to go to Menu, settings, phone settings, keypad auto-lock and click on off. This will stop preventing it to lock automatically in few seconds. Thx

Its the max time on the network. It depends on how close you are to you network antenna. Closer you are, less it uses battery. Inside and far away of antennas and bad connection areas it uses the internal receptors at full power so it eats the battery faster.

You just set a password for access What i was thinking of was the protection function which can prevent from deleting a file

I got my Pixon about a week ago. I have not used a samsung before but I decided to buy it because my wife kept telling me that her experience with samsungs has been very goo. I am, however, not very impressed with my phone. I am used to phones with a lot more functions and a battery life span of at least 3 busy days. I find that I have to charge my current handset every day. that sucks.

i got mine for my b-day last yr and it lasted 3 months and the touch screen stared to malfunction, sent it off to samsung to fix and it took 4 months for me to get it back, i started using again in august 09 and the screen stopped working all together again in october. can anyone say wat wrong. i really loved the phone but i dont want another touch screen. i am disappointed with this phone

Very easy to install java with TkFileExplorer. You just need to install the drivers and the program. Then create a folder with the jad and jar file on your PC, and download on the phone. You can download as many folders as you want. Then enter the hidden menu on the phone, select a few functions and there you go...

Just got my pixon, amazing photos and alot of camera options. Battery life is not as bad as I thought - at least 2 full days with moderate usage (it survives on one bar for a looong time!) very hard to install java, but now I have a java based GPS program with voice guidance (WeTravel). Handwriting recognition is a JOKE however.

resistive is better, it means you cvan use anything to touch the screen and click and it will work, the other one u must use the pen they provide you or else it wont click

Great simple phone, great camera. Careful because battery last one day and cannot install games (or must use TkFileExplorer, not for everyone..). If you like long time battery and customize your phone buy Nokia. But for me it is perfect, have the money to buy any other phone buy prefer to stay with this one.

no i have not. jeesh love the pixon's features yeah, but the battery life and only the one theme is kind of upsetting. im tjinking i should wait a while and see what phone i can upgrade to next month. my brother has the 5800, awesome fone, but when your driveing and need to type a text msg, u cant really type. and it feels kinda cheap, but the screen display is awesome though

No problem. First, open up the bar that contains the hidden shortcuts (the arrow at the top left hand sife of the screen) then drag and release the icon that you want to disappear from the main screen area in to the main stack of shortcuts (anywhere will do).And hey presto! Then close the column again by clicking on the column tab (top left hand corner). PS: open the column tab at anytime to access any of the other short cuts; just drag them from the unhiddem column and drop on the main screen area. Repeat the above to remove them.

I have had my Pixon for about a Year now and i have to say, Samsung are the way forward, becuase of this i now have 2 Samsung T.V's, a Samsung SorroundSound System, my partner has has a Samsung Jet and a Samsung Microwave Oven. The Two Main Issues with this Phone is Battery Life (it lasts about 24-36 hours which means you have to charge it every 24, which aint that bad) and the contact search, which has the spyglass to find contacts instead of letter or name search) But these aint major issue's infact i love it desopite these things!! I give it **** out of ***** and all my other products are great too.

EXPERIENCE WITH RESISTIVE TOUCHSCREEN: M8800 Pixon is very good features phone with Samsung OS. Very important to know is that a "resistive touchscreen" are much better than "capacitive touchscreen" even if reviews says for capacitive. This are the people who doesnt use this phone easch day. Remember this. :) Why? Because "resistive touchscreen" does the job like real one keyboard. Yes, real one. You must press like real key and this is realy good experience. On the resistive touchscreen you can put your finger (in car) on the screen, slowly, without pressing something!!! :) This is like on the real phone-keyboard. Samsung M8800 has very good vibra-featback. By pressing you feel click-clack, like on the real keyboard. Capacitive touchscreens are to much sensitive and another experience :(

Only a very small number of Pixon will let you install java programs from the memory card, depending on the phone firmware. Most phones won't let you do so : "files not supported"

Copy the jar files on the memory card insert the card into the phone and wait for the card to load up and then 1 click on my files 2 click on the jar file it will ask you to install click on yes 3 it will say content not signed click on continue 4 then you will see an info screen click on install and it will say installation complete click on play and that it 5 All the games are installed on the applications (Games and more) enjoy playing

Honestly the Samsung Pixon has a great Camera than the LG Arena. Arena has 5 Megapixel as opposed to the Pixon which has 8 megapixels. I would recommend the Pixon for occasions where you don't have your digicam. But the Pixon is not the only great 8-mega camera phone out there; you can opt for the Innov8, S8300 (UltraTOUCH) or even the Omnia HD. These are some of the best 8 megapixel camera phones out there (the Omnia HD has the best video recording) although the UltraTOUCH has the worst performance when it comes to the Battery department.

I don't think the Pixon supports subtitles but there are some movies which contain subtitles and they do play well.

Well Jess, you wouldn't be disapointed with this phone. It has a great camera and features, touchscreen is very responsive, great speaker and it does have some nice features. The only downside to this phone is the battery perfomance and video recording. The phone needs to be charged every 2-3 days, depending on how you use the phone and when recording a video in a loud environment, the sound just becomes terrible. Pixon is a great phone and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting great pictures, good music sound and nice features. Hope this helps.

As far as I know, jar. files are for newer phones or the latest and jad. are for older phones. I've also been trying to find games for the Pixon that can use the accelerometer but with no luck.

I don't think you own a pixon otherwise you'd know it plays videos fine. I've loaded Hanock the movie (avi format) and it plays perfectly with no frames skipping. This phone is really cool and has nice features too, the only downside is the battery life.

I have has this phone for 4 days, and apart from the fact you cant change from the bright white theme I love it! I just wish the them could be changed to black one... it would be perfect then. I agree the battery life isn't the best though.

don't. i've bought lg arena last week and i'm dissapointed. specifications are perfekt for lg km900 arena but the biggest problem of lg arena is that it's firmware. for example: gps isnt working as it is supposted to! you can't install garmin, other programs are not working well. i can't find any program for msn messenger mobile and most of all, you can't open youtube clips via wi-fi, but ony via gprs. i doenst seem logical. you can by my lg arena and i'm going to buy htc hero.

The slightest touch on the unlock key will unlock the phone. They should have made it a 1 second press instead. Typicall possible firware improvement but Samsung doesn't seem to care. Nokia is far ahead Samsung regarding firmware updates. But Samsung phones are so much better than Nokia phones that it is a pleasure to buy a new one.

Can anyone assist me. I've had the Pixon for a month now but how do you adjust the ISO level manually? Or is it Automatically adjusted by the camera itself? Its really bugging me a lot coz sometimes when you choose a certain Scene, the camera just makes the pic overexposed. Is it possible to set the ISO manually on this phone?

Hi Eric, I also experienced that same problem about the lens cover where it didn't want to close. But I managed to fix it though. Have you tried shaking the phone a bit or hitting it lightly on your palm of your hand? I managed to fix mine by pressing the nest of the camera lens in a circular way with my finger and there way a kinda 'clicking' sound and all was sorted. I think that the Pixon is not very well built as it may look but still its a great phone for me and I like it, except for the battery part of it.

I have had a Pixon M8800 for 3 months now. May comments are: The phone has good quality sound. The phone has a decent hands free speaker. The software that comes with the phone is very basic; No outlook (mail, calendar) integration you have to synchronise each applet separately. My camera lens cover has already broken (doesn�t close) If you are accessing voice mail you have a problem getting the keypad up in time to delete or save the first message, or you may miss the message. It seems to be not very good at multi tasking; if you are playing a video, then go view a message then go back to continue the video the application will have closed. Cannot comment too much on the camera; in my opinion the flash is not great. The phone software and camera software needs some work.

pixon Hardware is nice, but its software is worse. samsung is directly coping iphone software but missing many basic things,it is limited. * when we set wallpaper or tone from phone memory ,it is first copied in memory card then set as wallpaper or tone, hence lot of copies created in memory card as u change it..... irritating...... * when we assign photo to contact ,we have to keep it ,can not move or delete origanal.....(in nokia or sony , we can delete or move,doesnt matter and pc suit also remember it)but samsung pc suit or phone doesent ....and that contact photo comes in photo viewer..... irritating.............. * can not copy,past text. (this was present in my old k550 ,whose price is 3 times less than pixon) now nearly all other company supports it..... * only and only one boaring theme, very very bright and drains battery..... * can not apply flash file as a wallpaper, in sonyericsson using flash wallper and sensor ,many effects r given, all missing here........ * battery life is very very poor, actually not battery fault , big display and bright theme drains it very fast. * zooming image in image viewer not sufficient, only upto 10x, my old k550 had 32x zoom.hence need to crop photo if u want more zoom. * can not edit eqilliser,missing sonyericsson Megabass..... :( , given 5.1 ch etc. all useless. missing deep bass.... * when we assign memory card for camera photo storage, it againg after sometime usees phone memory as camera photo storage...... and when phone memory becomes full it tells u after taking photo,means u cant save that photo u just clicked,and again set memory card as storage....again and again .....irritating.............. * delivary report in text message is recived as a text message, I mean in nokia or sony,it is put in seperate folder,here it comes in ur normal message folder....if u send 10 messages ,it recives 10 text message and ur phone rings ten times, in nokia it only shows message deliverd or not....... good thing in pixon is camera , but there also rad spot appear at center and clearly visible when photo background is white. In video recording ,very loud sound is distorted and it can not record it properly. ......I will never buy Samsung phone again...........

There isn't a direct document viewer. Just load the file in the anywhere in the phone then you can view the Document, its just like viewing a picture for example. Document files (PDF, Word, Excel and Powerpoint) automatically get stored in the "Other files" folder.

Pixon is a big let down.Samsunf doesn't listen or read the viewers comments/ grievances they just keep making new phones at the cost of customers money ( a person buying a new phone worth Rs22500/-(450 USD)is wasted because what we get is a piece of crap and what samsung gets is some feedback mostly grievances of the customers and they try to make a few changes here and there and launch a new phone. The new phone is again ready to eat someones hard earned money to the tune of 450 - 500 USD and they also keep crying with the faulty or half cooked phone handed over to them. Samsung wake up! Its not about launching new models every fortnight you have to win customers also otherwise the way nokia lost its market share in last two years next in line will be samsung. Its our hard earned money pl do not make us to waste it again and again.We know that you are into business but the business can be done by keeping people WITH YOU rather than using them as a step to upgrade your new launch.

Does anyone know if it's possible to somehow control or reduce the microphone sensitivity of the Samsung Pixon while recording videos on loud environments (say, a nightclub or a concert) so that the resulting video could have distinguishable and acceptable audio quality instead of an undefinable noise? If not, is it possible to fix this problem with a firmware upgrade? I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me. I chose this phone for its video recording capabilities, and I'm really disappointed at the sound of the videos I have recorded (mostly short musical performances at clubs and stuff like that).

Well I'm using the phone's email setup for emails. I haven't downloaded Gmail's application for my emails. The Gmail Application is working fine but how do you add attachments? When I open the Menu button for more options, all I get is 'Send, Add Cc/Bcc and Finish later' options. Can't you add attachments using the Gmail App?

Hi. I think the Pixon is a nice phone and very user friendly. It is straight forward with no funny stuff.. I've had a look at the features of the S8300. It looks very similar than the Pixon.. maybe just a newer version? I don't really see a lot of differences. I had no problems so far with freezing of my screen or anything. My biggest concern will be the battery life.. if you use your phone a lot, you will have to recharge often. I can't go through a day without charging. But except for that, it is a very nice phone. If you like a more "complicated" phone, I think the Omnia will be a good choice.. it definately have more "features".. One of my friends have one and she is very happy, though there is also small things that bothers her.. phone freezes and she have to turn it of and on, etc.. I think it is just a personal choice. The omnia definately has more memory built in and the memory card is bigger.. I was lucky, I got a 8G memory card with my Pixon.. the one that comes out standard, is 1G. Hope this helps. C

Hi. Yes I can send and receive withouth problems... it is just the opening of certain attachments that I can't do... on my laptop, it is no problem... I use Outlook.. maybe you should try and download your gmail software on your phone again? Have you checked on your phone's g-mail if under "Select", "Go to", "More views", that you have ticked "Outbox"?.. hope this will help. I love my Pixon... it's just the battery life that's not good... otherwise it is good... even the "Phonebook" issues I've got sorted... I've allocated under "Groups" and "Favourites" the contacts that I use most and that works fine!! If you find a solution for the g-mail attachments, please leave a comment here... thanks. C

Hi Celelia, I also got the same prob. I dunno why it does that but I guess maybe that's how it was built. Can you compose emails from your Pixon? I need to know coz mine can't. It pops up an error massage saying 'Gmail IMAP: Connection refused'. Am I doing something wrong or have I entered the incorrect setting? Receiving emails problems is not a problem.

Hi... I've got g-mail on my Pixon... I can only open .jpg attachments.. If there is mails with pictures (not attachments), you can only see the words and not the pictures... Does anyone know if you need to change settings, or is there a limitation of what you can read? You can't open video clip attachments, either.. Can anyone help with this?

Yes I am sure, you can use the flash as a video light. I do have a Pixon and I used the flash as a video light. The only thing you can't do with the flash is to use it as a flashlight.

Well so far it hasn't shown info about the speed cameras. My guess is that its because I'm travelling in a speed camera-free place or it could be because I've haven't passed the speed limit. I'm gonna travel a long distance over the weekend so I'll give much details about that. I have downloaded the Garmap v2.3.0 and the POI are much better than the previous version I was using. When navigating, you not only see things like Petrol stations but now street names appear sort of like speach bubbles as you approach a street. The new version is looking better as well. Its really nice.

I had it for only 1 week, i was very disappointed so i sold it. The battery life is poor,the phonebook is not friendly, no sleeping mood !!!, answer/end call buttons do not light, u cant know if u have missed call unless u activate the screen, the side buttons are protruding and sensitive so u accidentally activate their functions, no back/forward/backspace buttons for messaging, no visual emoticons (just symbols),there is no list option for messaging folder (its only in detail mode), if u make any change to the wedges from the setting then the wedges in the main screen goes back to default mode (v. annoying), if u put the alarm in off mode from inside the settings it also goes back to default mode, it is wide and not practical for a petite person (u cant handle it with one hand).

Hey Patrick are you talking about changing the background of the music player or something else? Well there isn't a way of removing or changing the background colour of the music player just like the themes - just white all the way. What you see is what you get in the Pixon.

yes, there is call Reject list. mass storage mode is faster way to copy files,pc suit mode is slow.but in mass storage u can only use memoey card memory.

I've had the Pixon for 2 weeks now and I'm glad to have bought this phone - a great phone indeed. The only disappointment I have experienced is the poor battery life, the phone's battery only lasts about a day or two with moderate use (Taking 5-15 pics, 2 hours of music play, 25 min calls and 1.5 hrs internet usage a day). Other than that its a cool phone. The sunlight legibility is a bit dodgy when takin pics during the day as the display isn't quite clear. You might think you've taken a bad shot but view the image at night or away from the sunlight and the pic looks fabulous!

Well I do have Garmin on my mobile and it has Speed alerts. I'm not sure if the Garmap on my Pixon is the latest as it is a version 2.1 but I will check in 3 weeks if that will be a better version. Thanks for the info Sharad.

POI will tell you where there are speed cameras on the road - very useful when you are travelling in an area that you are not used to going to. Garmap have said that the software will only be available in 2- 3 weeks from now , so we will see. i have had this phone for now around three months. is a good camera phone. the first problem i faced with this phone was that it lock button used to get pressed in my pocket and the phone used to get unlock and dial numbers.. the second problem i am facing just now is that the touch screen freezes some time and refuses to work rendering the phone useless. i had taken the phone to the samsung service centre in sharajah after facing the problem 5 to 6 times and imagine they told me sorry bring in the phone when it hangs....(have to rush the phone from ajman to sharjah when it does hang) the most idotic thing i have ever heard. i made a mistake of buying a samsung product i guess.

I gust got the Samsung Pixon over the weekend and what a great phone it is. The 3.2inch screen is great, has great colours even though it has 262k colours. Direct sunlight legibilty suffers a lot but its not that bad. The screen is responsive and so far it hasn't been lagging at all. The web is quite a nice 'touch' and is fast with HSDPA/3G at 7.2Mbps. The eye catching part of the Pixon, The 8mpx camera, is very nice. The photos are amazing and brilliant when viewed on a desktop. I did experience some problems though; I tried setting up my email by adding my user name and password and I though the settings would be downloaded automatically(just like on my old K850i) but that didn't happen. After all was set up was compete and downloaded my emails, the phone showed an error saying "Cannot connect" - I dunno what was wrong but after I tried this for the 3rd time, it worked. Lastly the GPS is quite a nice feature and although GSMArena claims that the Pixon does not have Voice-guided navigation, mine has that feature. Maybe it depends on which Country you're in or what king of GPS you have.

its an inbuilt system, the photo, designed to make it faster to view them, i agree, it is FAR too sensitive! if you have a steady hand, that should solve all problems on that hand, lol! as to the keyboard, turn sideways for qwerty and upright for normal. also, when it is on qwerty, you really have to shake the phone to make it go back to normal! if you are lying down though, you have to text wonkily (i appreciate wonkily isnt really a word, but its the best i could think of!) Hope this helps ;-D

you can set it to auto lock, so by default, it will lock after 15/30 secs of inactivity... the only downside to this is if it has managed to get onto the internet etc, it will lock there and waste battery/credit, but this is the only other solution! hope it helps! ps, settings/phone settings, keypad auto lock... set to on! ;-D

the no event box changes to missed calls or texts, so just drag it into your widget menu, and when you get a text it will pop up, and go away afterwards, hope this helps! and as to your other query, i have no idea, soz! its not been a problem for me... as of yet! ;-D

The lock/unlock button is too big and can easily be activated in my pocket. Maybe is it possible to shave off a few millimiters with a small drilling tool but i won't try it. Hope Pixon 12 is better in this aspect.

When I put this phone on "hold" it is easily taken off. Is there a way to lock the phone besides the button on the side? I frequently find that the phone is in my bag making calls or taking pics on it own just because I have knocked the "hold" button. thanks!

Installing games from memory card does not work on the majority of Pixon, only for a little number of old firmwares. You have to use wap instead. I guess Samsung removed that possibility from their phones to please the telcom companies so you have to download and buy the games.

Copy the jar files on the memory card insert the card into the phone and wait for the card to load up and then 1 click on my files 2 click on the jar file it will ask you to install click on yes 3 it will say content not signed click on continue 4 then you will see an info screen click on install and it will say installation complete click on play and that it 5 All the games are installed on the applications (Games and more) enjoy playing

Too many Problems in this phone. I had this phone for 3 months now, and it already started to show it's real color, Touch screen now hardly works, i touch at the bottom, touch happens at middle...it hardly shows name in INBOX, i tried with both +92 and 03 but it works for that time, as soon as i put it away for an hour it again shows # instead of name, mobile is really slow...and the camera is like 4 megapixel none of my friends appreciated this phone.

understood. so i tried to move at the back just to reduce the noise. but it has the same effect. fyi, when i compared the sound from a friend's phone, her phone was doing ok. if it's possible, i hope samsung updates their software to support feedback reduction. because i really like my phone. i just don't like what's happening to it when i record a video. you can try it one time and see for yourself.

Yes it will work, just upload the jar file (jad not needed by wap) with the Pc and download with the phone. Java games 240x320 work ok, most of them being non touch screen games there will be small arrows at the lower part of the screen. Games on my phone at the moment: Great phone

Hi jj I use 3G to connect to the internet. The phone has its own internet browser which works quite well. I haven't had any problems with it. I also downloaded opera mini (java, which the phone supports) and tried it out. It works fine, but Opera Mini hasn't been optimized very nicely for touch input, so I prefer the default samsung browser. As for email, I've entered the gmail POP3 and SMTP settings into the phones email client, so I can open the email client from the phone and download my gmail messages to the phone. The interface looks almost like your sms inbox. However, you only receive emails when you choose to download them to your phone. Push email is not supported. If you have a data bundle added to your contract, its fine, but could be quite expensive if not.

You can install games only using Wap. Go to www.davidpye.com, upload the jar file to their server with your pc, and enter in your pixon the adress they will give you to download the file via wap. Easy and cheap, you just pay the wap charge. (There is another way using hidden menu and codes in the phone with special software but quite difficult and not for the standard user because you can mess up the phone...)

Hi. Just my take on the phone... may be helpful to some. Have had the phone for a week now and I'm really happy I chose it. Was considering much more expensive options, but glad i didn't. Camera is AWESOME! Can fault it there... video quality is superb. Only thing is photo quality in low light. I'm used to the perfect night shots of my old Sony Ericsson K800i. The Pixon disappoints in that regard. However, night shots are still better than most phones with an LED flash. Battery life is another thing. 1st full charge lasted about 12 hours, but I played around with all the features quite a bit. 2nd charge 2 days, 3rd is 2 1/2 days and counting. So after optimizing the battery, I guess it should be ok for about 2-3 days of normal use. I make about an 30-45mins of voice calls a day, send 20 messages, use internet for about 30mins a day. Also the odd photo taken and still play around with the features a bit. There's no wifi but that doesn't really affect me. Besides, I'm sure that'd REALLY kill the battery quickly! I was also sceptical about getting my first full touch screen, but I can gladly say that its probably even easier to use than a normal keypad (and I text alot!). No need for the annoying separate stylus, as finger input is so easy! Internet works like a charm even without downloading Opera mini. Omera mini need to become more touch friendly though. Document viewer works well and I've set up gmail to access through my inbox. Its quite easy and works well. Some emails don't download if "too large". The widgets are quite cool and the side-bar is a great idea. For the price, I don't think you'll find anything better! I must say that I am happy with my purchase! If you guys have any questions, leave a post directed to me and I'll try my best to help. Be prepared to wait up to 2-3 days for a reply as I don't check the comments every day. Happy shopping and if you're undecided, choose the pixon. You really won't regret it!

Hey, Thanks! You are correct. What I did was clear my mem card & then brought the size to around 3gig n then was able to use it. When i tried saving another divx movie, issue cropped again. Now, I have understood that it can only take 4gb n not 8gb as their website states. Its a pity none of the reviews i read mentioned this before..at least we could have just bough 4gb cards instead...

The camera is very good . Video recording is pathetic. Its not at all 30 fps as mentioned rather it seems they have interpolated to get 30 fps which gives it jerks in the recording or playback. DON'T GO FOR THIS PHONE IF YOU ARE TAKING IT FOR ITS MUCH PUBLICISED D1 QUALITY VIDEO RECORDING.

I had the same problem with my first Pixon when I loaded up 100's of jpeg's and music file. It just kept on restartoing itself. This was with an 8gig card. I got another one and limited what I put on it and so far it is o.k. I think the Pixon has a limit to the number fo files it can handle as a design fault..

Guys I bought this phone for 2 months, this is a very good camera phone, it takes good pictures and videos, yap... and the next good thing is sms, very easy to type msg and bigger in sms text size, other than these, others are very common, nothing special. I used PDA phone like HP,O2,Dopod and HTC for many years, I bought this phone because I need to have a good camera phone for my music lesson and to take some street performance, if you think 3.2 - 5MP is more than enough, don't waste $$$ to take this phone, if you like to install games, software, don't take this phone. if you need GPS, don't take this phone (very troublesome), if you need WIFI, don't take this phone. This phone can install java games, but it may not be the same "size" as you see online. Think twice before you buy.

Hi, Have had the pixon for exactly a week now. HAs been good in some while being pathetic in others. However, I wanted to share about a nasty jar the phone gave last nite. The samsung website, manual & box all say the phone can take 8gb micro sd. so, i ordered a 8gb off ebay which i got in my hand sterday. I filled it up with 375 mp3s,10 pics & around 20 divx files, which all added upto 6gb. Put it into my phone & all hell broke loose!!! The phone just went awry & kept restarting..i had shut it off by yanking off battery...reduced the stuff to around 4gb...nope...nothing happening...same trouble..so brought it down to 3.25gb & then it FINALLY WORKED...then i went through playing files,looked likethere were no probs..until i had an issue with one of my mp3 files.it just froze & kept restarting again...so then somehow manged to delet the file & then kept playing mp3s all day long with no issues. I wanted to ask if others had faced this issue...phone seems to very good on all other aspects...please share if anyone else had memory probs.

Hi all, I got the pixon since last 4 days. My views- First day � very excited to have a upgrade from my old LG viewty. Played for almost full day with pixon. Second day onwards � the excitement vanished as I found that it is having only a good camera , video recording and web browser . In other areas I found my viewty scored more than pixon. For ease of use , in looking for sub � sub menus, locking system of veiwty while watching movies on the go so that you don�t get so many options with the slightest touch on the screen, Searching for contacts , I was amazed that pixon doesn�t offer searching by alphabets typing. It only has one slider on side which takes you from one alphabet to other and once you reach that alphabet you are left on the mercy of scrolling down to long lists before you finally get to your desired contact. Moreover I could not get voice through my Tv when I transferred the videos to usb device and tried to watch it on TV through any standalone DVD players with USB port. It shows � audio codec not supported�. Viewty videos played without any problems. I am still looking how to get the multi tasking done on pixon. Say if am using contacts menu and simultaneously if I want to open message menu, how to do that? Any help in this regard will is welcome. Video quality � I am getting smooth ness in video files ( it doesn�t look like 30 fps ) when I play in on computer or TV. I could not understand ( I am recording with 720x480 size). Still I am getting to the other aspects of the phone will update you all with new findings or observations, till then bye. sk

The more i use my Pixon the more i like it, and people are always impressed by its great classy looks. The only phone i would better buy now would be Omnia HD but it is still not out, and far too big. This one is perfect if you like taking pictures or video.But if you want long lasting battery and install many programs for professionnal use choose another one.

i dont understand why you compare 5800 with pixon 5800 is a music phone and pixon is a camera phone,pixon battery lasts for me 3days with 15m calls and about 4-5pictures 1-2videos every day with full screen brightness and is 1000mamber battery,my old n95 8gb lasts 2-3days,pixon ha the best camera this moment,try record video not on the day with the sunlight try in your room with lights on,and take another video with any ather phone you like and see if anyone can record better quality from pixon,for me there is no other like pixon,i used to have n95,n82,n95 8gb,c905.innov8,lg arena,5800,and i have photos from all of them so i can compare easely,i know you dont believe me but the best camera phone are n82 and pixon

a good way NOT to describe the phone is, it is for men. with those flower screen saver pictures that you can not change it can be quite embarressing for a man. i don't know who designs samsungs products. but i get the feeling that they don't care about after support at all, i doubt we will get any software updates on this phone. they are more concerned about selling the devices and then bringing out new ones, not actually making the customer happy.

My Samsung pixon's camera is blurry! Even if I choose Autofocus mode or Face detection mode, the camera is still blurry when taking long-distance shots. But when taking shots at short range, the camera is very clear. As if it's always in Macro mode! Can anybody help me? I just bought it yesterday. I don't believe this is what the 8MP Pixon is all about - blurry pics!!

You can NOT download JAVA apps and games from PC. You need to use a Wap uploader or TkFileExplorer (Google is your friend) and a few internal codes, which is not so easy...

Hi! 1. About the Bluetooth speed, its Version 2.0..it's fast regardless of the file size..but of coarse, if u'll send large file sizes, it would take a few time to be sent. 2. It has a PC connector like other fones. 3. You can download JAVA apps and games from PC..just not sure of the file format that u'll need.

Right this phone is not for heavy users because of weak battery. People should know it by now before buying. But for me i charge it every 1 or 2 days, no big deal and it is ok. Best phone i ever had, curious to see if Viewty 2 can beat it.

I bought this phone a few weeks back now and i must say overall i was disappointed with the battery performance more than anything else. I use my phone a lot and before this i had a sony eriksson k800 and my battery would last atleast the whole day but on thie phone i get half a day if im luck! its rediculous. Other than that the camera is really good and the touch screen is very responsive. I would advise anyone getting this phone that if you text or talk a lot then you'll need something with a longer lasting battery. I would also like to be able to change the screen saver, however i do very much love the phone but the battery lets it down imensely!

3gp or mp4 has nothing to do with size, it is just the format. But usually 3gp is used with low spec phones which have small screen so the video size is small

The battery is AWFUL, maximum of 2 days and thats with very very little usage. If I use it for calls or texts (and thats it purpose in life) then it just about lasts a day, Samsung have got problems, I'm going back to SE and their long battery life.

MR.MIAN HAADI,i know that PIXON has no wifi or symbian but on the other side the cam of nokia 5800 is nothing but a piece of crap and also on the nokia 5800 you have to double tap the touchscreen to select a function and other things.The pixon is pretty close to a allrounder phone.The multimedia features of pixon and also the camera is BEAST.Its camera is pretty much the same as the samsung INNOV8 which was quite awesome.

Best samsung phone. I have one for one month. Touch sesitivity+vibration feedback is No. 1 definitly. The battery 2 days with frequetly use, each a couple of minutes. 3 days normaly. The screen is great and huge 3,2inch, fast response, only not good in the sunny day, but visible in another angle. In the indoor or not direct in the sun very good. Fast software, superior 8mpix camera and videorecorder, nice fashionable design, for men, casis is hard and durable like in other Samsung phones. Typing is like on the normaly keys. You have tuch response click-clack..very nice and usable, better than iPhone 100%!! Very good full touch screen phone, to recommended for all samsung propriety-softwaere funs and users. 9,5/10

Actually the Surround System can be activated only when the headphones are plugged in. But i don't see any use of it, it makes the sound "tiny". Better choose another equalizer preset. Pixon is really great phone

I have just bought this phone and spent 2 hours with it. Negatives: Stylus is not attached inside the device so will not get used. you can not change the look of the menu or the icons. problems, web browser is limited. some youtube vids don't work, not 100% full browser like opera. absolutely no applications available at time of purchase. annoying 8 pictures set as system files that are used when you put the phone on lock mode, flowers and other such pictures, so you can not disable this. you can not read the file system of the phone through media transfer mode you have to use the software included with the phone. memory cards only on the media transfer mode. you can not customize the widgit bar, you can not remove icons or applications and you can not change the icons, from i have found so far. you can only move them around. positives. the touch screen is very responsive and the interface is fast. camera is great plays xvid and divx movies very well downloaded google maps and that works great as well. document viewer works (but not on large pdfs) ---- so it might sound like i am unhappy with my purchase but i am not, looking at the other touch screen phones available this had what i was looking for in a device, but if they just fixed a few things it would be perfect.

Does anybody know how to change the screensaver on this phone?? NOT THE WALLPAPER, but the screensavers that come up when the touch screen is locked. They alternate every few seconds and are set as pictures of flowers and bubbles - I have even gone as far as calling Samsung to see how it can be done and they are telling me that (as silly as it sounds) its not possible. SURELY there must be a way. Hopefully one of you will be able to help me with this as its a great phone apart from that. . . .

It's an awesome phone. The sound clarity is rocking, the 8MP camera is just out of this world. Touch Sensitivity is much better than Nokia 5800. The OS is a little outdated but nevertheless it works great with the phone. The only problem is with the battery back-up. Its not good. The screen draws too much power when we use the cam. However, if the phone is fully charged we can use it to take atleast 200 snaps and make/recieve atleast 10-12 calls of 10-15 mins duration. After that the battery is - poof!!! Come on people, what more can we expect from a phone with so many positive features. It works great for me. Go for it if you want a phone with an excellent cam.

I've had this phone for about 2 weeks now and i have to say it's wonderfull i love it, i got rid off a nokia 5800 to get this and don't regret it for a moment. BUT !!!! The battery is atrocious! even with screen brightness turned down full and no vibration at all. I charged the phone overnight and took it off in the morning (8a.m.)and without a lie i sent 5 texts messages and one 30 second call and i lost a bar by 3p.m. which i thought was shocking! another bar was gone doing nothing by 8p.m. and by the time i went to my bed (midnight) i'd lost another. Is this normal? and does anyone have any suggestions to make the battery last a little longer (barring carrying around a car battery)

The camera is amazing, U can see the brilliant photo in a bright lite with daylight condition. the color produced is truly natural just like real. just take a snap of 8MP photo of your own then transfer it to pc. zoom it to actual size, and see!! no more broken pixel, no more noise, just fine. try to snap photo of the city at night. dont use the flash just use the nite mode. and see the result.. I recomend this phone to replace ur dcam.

Ive had the pixon now about 2-3 months all in all its a decent phone, camera is fantastic, the touch screen is faster than most other phones that Ive tried...the only downfall is that there are not many new widgets to choose from :O( but hopefully we will see more in the future. I tried the tocco ultra edition and this was nothing compared to the Pixon...the tocco ultra edition was very slow, no qwerty, speaker problems so sent it back & am sticking with the Pixon...i recommend it to all who want a touch screen phone with a good camera!

Just take a snap of any bright white light at its maximum exposure of lens.Keep it handy on screen . So whenever you want to use it as a torch just get this image on screen and you wlii get enough light to read your seat number. ( Pl remember to keep the brightness level to maximum before using the image.)

Can you zoom your messages in, to make it a bit larger on the screen for reading it and contacts etc. Is the font size on screen small as the old Nokia 6680 / Samsung D600 or a bit larger ? Can you make the font bold etc.. Do you know what are the biggest diffrence between the pixon and omnia, I know about the 8mp/5mp camera, but what else are different ?

both are the same for omnia and pixon.. just that u can change the font from the pixon which looks more stylish.. just got my pixon few days ago and i love it!

I want to get a new Samsung I900 omnia or M8800 PIXON, but I want to know first if it is possible to make the text size (larger, bold, etc) when you write a new sms / e-mail. Or can you zoom the message in when read it from the inbox.. Or is this phone text on screen also very small like other touch screen phones ? That is the big problem with all those big touch screen phones (i have a Pixon), their battery seldom lasts more than 1 day... I remember my first phone 6510 with small black and white screen would last me nearly a week. Progress ?

I really dont care whats the sound like on speakers, but its really important to me that the sound on the headphones can outnoise th estreet noise. or if it cant do that is it loud enough? I noticed that if you use the antishake function, the time to process the picture is much longer and so it will be longer before the result appears on the screen... Saving the picture in the phone or in the memory card does not make any difference in speed. Overall the saving time is fast enough (2s) if you choose to visualize it on the screen , and even less than 1s if not

Video and sound I used Pixon to record my piano lesson, video is good as you can see all the finger movement syn with the sound, but the sound is so so only. Games Don't waste money to install games as most of the games will have the small box and quite a number of games are not touch screen unless you installation is free. GPS I've tried the GPS but it seems that it involve data surfing, so it cost $$$ because I saw XXXKB running and it is not at the correct location (maybe I'm in the building) but lucky I don't use GPS at all. Flash light I thought this phone can be used as flesh light (example you can use it to view your seat number in the dark cinema), anyone know how to use it?

I bought this phone a few months ago and I face a problem. After receiving 200 sms, i should delete the previous messages, in order to receive the new incoming messages. Is there a capability to transfer my messages or my message folders to the micro sd memory card (like i can do with most nokia or other cell phones). I can not find a way to transfer them. m confused between these two phones, n85 n samsung pixo.. now m soo cunfused cuz pixon provides me wid touchscreen n 8MP camera, but on the other hand, n85 provides me with symbian platform i.e. 3rd part applications (it rly does matter) n i can blindly trust nokia anyday, plus iv a soft corner for nokia phones cuz hv always used nokia only (so i cant say nythng abt samsung, how much is it handy or etc) but fully touchscreen n 8MP camera is killing me.. anyways, is this samsung pixon a symbian phone? s60? can it install 3rd part applications like nokia does (advanced device lock, ultimate call recorder, rotateme, shmessenger n etc) ?? and overall which one u prefer? any other phones worth noticing of? in same cost range (24000 INR or $550) ?? plz reply..thanxx!!

Scrolling down long lists of files can be a bit tricky because you can select some files by touching the screen. That is why i use the volume keys to scroll, no problem that way. Scrolling phone book is no problem using the small touch key on the screen.

I've compared it with Omnia, Omnia is a PDA phone, camera is 5MP and fine for a normal photo, but video taking still Pixon better. I used it to record my piano lesson, so the video taking have to be good, and Pixon didn't fail me, at least when I view at home, I still can see clearly my teacher's fingers properly play on which key but the sound recording is so so only. If you want to install 3rd party software/games and not so particular on camera, go ahead with Omnia.

I just had my Pixon for 2 days. This is just a normal Samsung plateform phone, not any symbian or Win mobile, if you wish to download any 3rd party software, I think better use symbian or the best is PDA phone. Camera + video I bought this phone because the Camera and Video is really good, I use it to record my piano lessons and street performances, my old PDA phone gave me only 2-3.15MP. SMS Text The SMS is fine as the text is big enough for me (my vision is not good). Games total 5 Java games (Tumbling Dice/Google Maps/BrainChallenge/DiamondTwist/PyraidBloxx)onl­y 1 game is free (T/Dice), others trial only, G/Map needs SIM card.I paid for PyraidBloxx (S$6), lucky not so expensive. Ringtone - I use my favourite MP3 songs as ringtone and is easy to set. WLan - no wifi is fine as I don't use it. Geo-tagging Still figuring out how to use this. BT with A2DP - I've hooked it with my iTech Stereo headset and the sound good. Internet I normally don't use my phone to surf net, but I tried it yesterday, reasonable speed, I didn't wait too long for the page to load. Other applications are fine with me. As I mainly looking for a good camera/video phone, I think Pixon is fine with me (I play all my games/video/novels on my HP PDA (bigger screen, more software to use)

Really great phone, Samsung has made big progress in the last two years, unless Nokia. But now they should open their phones OS (which is a big part in Iphone's success)instead of making it impossible or very difficult to install other applications in their phones
