I had this phone about 4 years ago, it was a T-Mobile version in the US. It was blue. I thought it was ok, but one thing that I'll never forget was, it had a cow's moo ringtone that was active for any numbers assigned to groups. I set up my immediate family into groups and had another ringtone assigned, and the first time it rang, my phone started mooing!! I was in a room full of people who all laughed violently, when they heard the ringtone, and saw my surprise when the phone went off! That ringtone was not available to be selected and didn't show up anywhere as a choice, so I couldn't delete it. I tried assigning several different ringtones to the group but to no avail, it always rang with that ringtone. So I quickly abandoned the idea of having group ringones. I always assumed it was some bug or 'easter egg' some disgruntled programmer at Siemens or T-Mobile put in there. Oh, by the way - all three of these CF62 handsets my family had all behaved the same way. And I bought them new straight from T-Mobile.

I am still using CF62 as my primary phone. This is a very good phone. It is doing it's job much better than newer phones. Loud speaker, a tone of leds so that you know when you missed something, and it can even run opera mini 3. Beautiful.

Have had this phone since Dec 2004 or 2005 and is still working great. Replaced battery once in 2009. Showing its age now tho. Would love to replace it with same but shame it is discontinued. This one has pretty blue flashing lights and I can't find another on the market with same feature.

I have been using this phone for more than 3 years and until now the phone is still working... This phone is very good since it is a flip flop,,,but only I hate is the battery which is not easy to search for here in the city..and it loads always...the battery takes an hour only for me to use it...But, anyway it is good and a nice one..it is cheap to buy and a quality unit..

I have it for around 3 years now, and very satisfied. If you are looking for a compact size, no nonsense handy-this is the one. Never had a problem with it, stand by for days without the battery running out.

I use it for around 3 yrs and i am very fond of it. Really nice phone. Unfortunately, I still do not know how to mute it. If I use mute, the phone always vibrates. Is there any option for using both non-vibrating and mute options at the same time?

I've had this phone for 4 full years now. I've used it in Germany, London, Mexico and in the states. I've never had a problem and it still works like a horse. Still uses the original battery which still holds a charge for a couple days. I had T-Mobile unlock it for me free a couple years ago so I could use pay-as-you-go SIM cards for the country/city I'm traveling in which saved a lot of money over time on roaming. It's far overdue time to upgrade to a phone with Bluetooth and MP3 but I'm gonna miss this phone. It was a champ and served me well for a long time... Also, I'm addicted to the game Wappo and I play it all the time while waiting for flights. I'll probably keep it as a spare cuz it's still in top notch shape.

I have this phone. It was working fine. Now the problem is that when it keep it for charging, it becomes off after 5-10 minutes. I was using a duplicate charger. I bought this phone on 2005. Still it works fine. I changed the battery after 2 years of usauge. But the replaced battery doesnt give good life. Needs charging very often. Difficult to get new battery in india as SIEMENS phone is not famous here and also company stopped production.However being my first cell phone it is serving well with basic functions.

Hello! I have a question about this cell. For some reason, it doesnt save the text msg that I sent! It always says 'sent' 0 even if I sent msgs and I know people receive them. Also, when I am sending the msg, it asks me 'validity period' what is that?? Even when I press one week, I cant find the sent msg anwhere!

I bought this phone in sept 2004 and it has worked fine until feb 2008. The battery is dead now. It was a good phone. I will try to get a new battery and use it as a secondary phone. However I'm buying a Nokia now because Siemens mobile dept. has been sold to Benq and it became rare to find Siemens mobile phone on the market. What a pity !

well,it's quiet a good phone but it has a very weak battery. it gets flat even just by flipping it. above all it looks to have many functions but very few and only has 5ringtones and everything is "please wait",for the games it will take you a minute just to load but otherwise it's a pretty good phone!

And sometimes when it does turn on when i get a call the ring tone doesn,t work. and in the middle of a call it turns off. i recomend this phone to people know nothing about phones. if you have just bought this phone then sell it now. I' had this phone for three years now. My wife has second one. All these years phones worked well, no problem at all. Yes, it is the basic phone with some extra options. No doubt it does it's primary function. Siemens support is very good also. All phone software can be downloaded and installed back from company's support page if you need it. I have my phone at work all the time and so far it has survived industrial harsh environment. Now (three years later) batteries are ding but as far as I know it is normal for the cell phone. So, if you need basis and cheep phone go for this one.

My freind send it to me from itly. it really is a slow,little mamory phone. And by mistake i have deleted its ring tones. you will be surprise to know taht it could not recover those. So my advise is dont choose this one.

ive bought the t-mobile issue in ebay to use as a back up phone... its good, does all the basic but its just to slow... im used to writing sms real quick and without looking and it just couldn't keep up... most of its function are really slow. Its a good thing i just use this for my other number and just text on it occassionally. Im planning to pass it on to a cousin of mine as his first phone.

This phone has a problem of its battery. The battery backup is very low even in its idle stage. And for sometimes, the phone goes shut off without any reason.

Had this for 2 years before the battery shut down. I ordered a battery online at cellphoneshop.net and is working again. Not much of features but does the basics, voice call and texting. Over all it is a good phone for me.

Maybe its just my phone, but the menus are seriously slow. Like after recording a 30sec clip i have to wait for 60. Browsing pictures or even the phonebook is really ... bad. Turns itself off for no reason, maybe because of cold weather or bumps...

I was surprised how upset I was when I lost this phone lol. I'm currently using the EnV but I had this phone for a longgg time I think I got it when I was 15-16. Either way its a very simple phone and you shouldnt expect much. There are a lot and I mean a lot of defective phones mixed in the great ones. I recieved a great one and really its a phone for people who don't use the phone all the time, but have one on them anyway.

I have had nothing but great experiences with this phone for about two years and running. If you are looking for all of the bells and whistles this phone may not be for you. But if you need it for basic communication it's fine.

this phone is terrible. i got it for free with a plan but it was supposedly valued at about 220$. it was useless plastic within 3 months. functions of the phone stoppped working. phone randomly dies or turns off. calls are lost or person on the other end can't hear my voice (or i cant hear theirs). low battery life. without a doubt the worst phone i have ever used.

I've had plenty of problems with my cf62. Luckily the insurance is still good, so I'm going to get another phone. In the winter it used to just go off by itself and nowadays it doesn't even need to be cold. It's almost impossible to turn it back on or recharge it at all. When people call me they don't even know they've been connected and I won't hear a thing.

It is a simple, easy to use phone with no frills(less things to go wrong)and before I got it, I was pretty set against cell phones all together. I know this is an old phone,but got it with promotion 2 years ago. Was the worst phone I ever had. As others have said, it switches off anytime it feels like it. Called customer service and they supposedly walked me thru resetting it. What a joke!

This is the worst phone it switches off like the other person said it even switches off during wen ur writing a txt or talking it doesn't show the right amount of reception, It will say that it has full reception whilst its looking for the network. It takes ages for the pages to load and its a waste of money. DO NOT BY THIS PHONE EVER!!!!!

Worst phone ever. Need I say more. I bought this phone for the price and had to get it replaced less then a year later because it would randomly turn off and make calls on its own. Apparently this is common. When they sent me the replacement less then 2 months went by and the phone was having the same problem again. I have at least 5 friends that have had this same experience. Do not waste your time or money on this phone go even if you have to sacrifice features you will be much happier with any other phone.

I bought this phone a year ago and have had similar problems. The phone swithces off for no reason, i have had my numbers deleted for simply having too many sms's come in while im out surfing and thats not fun- finding all those 200 numbers again. The battery runs out within 12 hours of recharging too. One probelm is where do i find better games to download? Also im up to level 53 on Wappo and i dont think this level is doable at all. Does anyone know how to get past this level? Its impossible.

the siemens cf62 looks quite sleek and posh with its cool flashing lights and so on. for a plain text and ring phone it is pretty good for it doesnt have have a camera or bluetooth or anything like that! i have had many problems with it such as not charging or breaking down.the phone is simple to use with large icons and blue lights to let you when a you have recieved something or there is a network problem. the phone is mostly for left handers but easy for right handers.there is a out side display which is good it shows the time battery and the signal and if you have had a missied call or message. a good thing about the phone is the internet and also the good screen display. the clamshell design is good with the small loop handle at the top and the quite large keys which are flat the paint on the phone scrapes easy. in the sun the screen display is hard to make out. because the whole of the front of the phone is glass not just the actual screen it scatches easy. overall the phone is quite good and you can get it cheap its not bad just dont expect miracles and is for users who dont use their phone that much because it can get boring!!!

This is a third class mobile set. Because of it's bad quality color. I have bought this set only 1 month ago, but in this time, the body color is going to be damaged. I think siemens should imporove its body color qluality.

unfortunately for the sake of a low price, good features set i went for CF62. i din't know that it would be so "cheap" that everyone would repent on buying it! main "features" of this phone, that i haven't seen in any other mobile phone than siemens are: 1) very very short battery life (needs to be re-charged at least twice a day) 2) shut-down problem as stated by almost every user here but mine happens with the use of some functions and like when the battery gets full on charging. 3) too slow (annoying slow!) 4) T9 dictionary don't memorize new words at all rest of the features have not yet REVEALED on me to burn my more blood!!! i looked for the latest firmware of this mobile on siemens official website my-siemens.com but didn't find it ... now don't know how to get rid of this phone!

Have had the CF62 for about a year now, and was ready to buy something else. I like the phone except for the problem about shuting off by itself at random. Thanks to the perosn that posted the fix for this problem: putting a peice of folded paper between the Sim card and the battery. I did the fix about three weeks ago and it hasn't turned off since. So now I don't have to buy a new phone. Thanks guys!!!

I've had the CF62T for 10 months now & love it! I've never had screen freezing or dropped phone calls like others here complain about. I love the classy unusual looks and especially love the different dynamic light patterns! They always get attention from others when I open the clamshell! I use the phone for only about 3 minutes a day in calls average & download internet news 10 - 20 minutes a day. Keeping the phone on 12-15 hours a day the battery last me 3 or 4 days before I need to recharge it. It doesn't have a camera, if that is important to you although one is optional. The color display could be bigger & the volume on the speaker phone could be louder, but the phone is packed with useful features and gets the intended job done! The pluses outway the minues in my opinion.

To Dominic: My dad's phone had that battery issue, it would last for only a few hours of normal use, turn off while charging, become hot while being used.. i considered buying a new battery then i read your post, i wasn't sure but i gave it a try and to my surprise, it worked. there was a contact between the battery and metal parts beside the sim, the phone now is normal again. Thanks for help, now i have a reason to root for Croatia in The World Cup..

Hello: I am using this phone for 7 months now(black edition) and it is great-design and funcionality as well great quality of sound...I have USEFULL ADVICE for all users of cf62 who have problems with battery life/turning off..I had the same problem and it can be solved by simply putting a bit of paper or carton betwen baterry and sim card(mobile was turnig off by it self because of lose sim card that was losing contact)..once you do that your phone will work perfectly and without any problem what so ever..it is great phone, durable and reliable...also it has grat design for cheap price... After my ME45 was stolen I wanted something cheap. Phones are consumer products, not jewellery. Last friday my Siemens died. I had it for about a year. The last few weeks my CF62 started to freak. Shut down with no reason, freezes, ... In an angry mood I smacked in on the table and the screen broke. All in all my cheapest Siemens and a bit of a dissapointement. Software is very slow, and build quality can't touch the older and more expensive Siemens. Paint chips way too easily. But I still like the design, I love the flat-style keyboard. Types very easy! My CF62 is now replaced with the ME75

I bought my CF62 for less than 20 quid, and I use it with pay as you go "orange". I consider myself a casual user who didn't want to spend a lot on mobile technology, and the CF62 is eminently suitable for this. I have just bought a 850mAh replacement battery off EBay for less than 4 quid (including P&P)not that I needed to, but because of all the negative hype about this phone. If your life or your business depends on having a state of the art mobile, then pay what you consider appropriate. I consider the CF62 to be amazing value for money. To all the people who think that 3 minutes is too long to run a java game, may I make a suggestion ---- GET A F***ING LIFE. PS I don't work for siemens

Thought it was decent enough for its time, however changed my mind after just 6 months the peice of crap doesnt charge anymore, battery sits on minimal constantly, WITH everything disabled. Just dont bother, there are better deals out there for less money.

Purchased this phone from T-mobile. Just like many other people here say, the phone just shuts off by it's self. Unfortunatly it started doing this right when the warranty expired. Has to pay $100 and commit to 1 yr service for Motorola V360.

In just 5 months my Cf62 Black acquired a lot of problems. Freezes, turn off by itself, and the silver paint started to peel. Buy another cell

The batery has no problem at all think about other fones are equiped whit 720-800mA Lithium Ion Batery and the Siemens cf62 has a 600mA Batery that is the problem and the other fones have no dynamic light , 2 displays...or somting like that, but if you by a 800mA batey in Europe it has a low price 10Euro and the standby time gets double up to 5 days...normaly if you customize the fone to save energy(600mA standard batery) the standby time is about 3 days whit a minimum of 5 cals /(10min.)/day,and whit a display light to 50%(the external display is not turned off!) Ex:Nokia fones whit standard batery(720-800mA) hawe a standby time up to 5-7 days the Sony Ericson whit LI-Ion-Polymer! batery standby time 4-5 days ,Siemens fones up to 5 days.(my personal experience Nokia 6610i,Sony Ericson T68i,Siemens M35,A50,CF62) Now think about the diference betwean a 600mA batery and a 800mA batery!

I buy this fone about 1 week and i love it..the batery stand by 3-4 days(...by all the siemens fone is the same 3 to 5 days standby time)looks god ...is a litle bit slow but in general is ok , the dynamic lights are great.

My previous phone was a simple, easy to use, easy to see Samsung SGHr225 (thru T-mobile). The battery died and I went my local mall's T-m center. I allowed myself to be talked into taking this phone and renewing my T-mobile contract for 1 yr. I HATE THIS PHONE! I can't see anything on the screen if I'm outside, the little backlit letters/no's on the keypad are hardly visible in anything but complete darkness, the address book takes forever to load! And I was told by the gentleman when I returned that all the phones are like that. What a piece of crap! I just ordered a new battery for my old phone from a Web site -- something I should have done in the first place. In order to get a more simple "free" phone from T-mobile, I would have to renew for ANOTHER 2 YEARS. Come July, I'm done with T-mobile, as well!

As a T-Mobile customer I purchased 2 CF62T's in Jan '05. By March began having cutoff & shutting off problems. Thought it might be improper charging time, but problems kept on intermittently. Finally contacted T-Mobile & they replaced the phone, but not battery. Same scenario but now it's Aug when I tell T-Mobile it must be the battery; they tells me the battery is an accessory w/6-mo only warranty & ref me to Siemens, who tell me T-Mobile contracted for the CF62T's & assumed full responsibility for the phone & battery. T-Mobile's solution: buy a new battery for $100, or reup for 2 yrs as their hog-tied monkey. Not surprisingly, T-Mobile Cust service is like a vacuum; their young supervisors don't know cust service from diaper rash & think the cust has not right to question the company's svc policies (a Bush syndrome). This no doubt is a common market failure among most cellular svc providers: a reflection of avid greed & lousy service in an expanding market. The customer beware! I rate T-Mobile a 2 out of 10.

My husband & I have the CF62T - and although we love the phone, we've had trouble with it shutting itself off for no reason (during conversations or just because)- -at first we were told by T-Mobile that it was a "software" issue and they replaced the phones... but now the "new" phones are doing the same thing. We are now forced to either "deal with it" or upgrade to a new phone & sign a new plan...

Horrible!!! It it is the first cell phone that peels!! Yes, it loses its painting (black model)!!! Battery lasts ..... less than 24 hours!! Siemens service says turn off this and that and it will last longer. Yeah! 48 hours! Best thing to do, don�t buy! in case you�ve already done it, get rid of it.

Hello: I am using this phone for 7 months now(black edition) and it is great-design and funcionality as well great quality of sound...I have USEFULL ADVICE for all users of cf62 who have problems with battery life/turning off..I had the same problem and it can be solved by simply putting a bit of paper or carton betwen baterry and sim card(mobile was turnig off by it self because of lose sim card that was losing contact)..once you do that your phone will work perfectly and without any problem what so ever..it is great phone, durable and reliable...also it has grat design for cheap price... The CF62 has a lot of features but the sound quality is very poor.. it gets switched off frequently and gets stuck occasionally.. the range is also poor compared to other phones.. the display is too good..GPRS also very good

This phone is a piece of junk. I'm on my 4th one right now 2nd battery and about to go onto my 5th phone. The battery is horrible it dies while im at work before i even get a chance to use it. It is unreliable. It freezes and is slows, shuts off i dont know how many times on me. And to make it even worse now my alarms or reminders arent working anymore and i can't save things on my phone half of the time. It is junk. Although i do look how it looks, never buy something for its looks.

The best thing about this phone is that i got rid of it. :). It has good reception and lots of features ( most of them unnecessary). But it sucks at the basic stuff like batery life, sound quality and simply functioning (shuts down and freezes).

i have this phone for a year. the bigest problem was that it was shuting down when ever he wants too. but i changed the battery and now it's working well. the sound quality is not bad but there is not enought memory for ringtones. i have downloaded only 4 wav format melodies and the memory is full... in conclusion it's not i bad phone at all. if you want cheap and good phone than it's worth to buy it.

This unit has an inherent design flaw--It randomly shuts itself off. I bought my handset in March 2005, and I am on now the not so prouder owner of my FOURTH Siemens CF 62. The problem appears to be that the batter will not stay in place, and the solution is double sided scoth tape under the battery. This works for several weeks, then it has to be replaced. My unhappiness with this product is compounded in that my service provider (fido) has offered no remedy except to continue replacing the phone (while it is still under warranty) or sign on to a new contract. Of course, this is not appealing based on the support I have received thus far. The bottom line: stay away from this phone.

Yea, obviosly you did something for the LCD to break smart stuff. I dropped it on concrete floors over a dozen times and it still outperforms. My battery lasts for a week. I dont know bout u guys but my phone has no problems.

@panjabi rock star mine did never really freeze, so I can't tell you about that. If it switches off by itself (which by the way appears to be a hardware problem: loose contacts?) you can immediately switch it on again. However, if you are unlucky it switches off again after a few minutes only!

You can download ringtones on this phone. Im from Australia and there are a few ringtone companies on the new such as jamster and blueskyfrog which supports this mobile phone. but as u should know, downloading ringtones do cost a fair bit... if u are downloading ringtones, remember to switch ur gprs on and be connected with internet!!! i love this phone!!! :P

I own the CF62 for 10 months now. Given its price (if you buy it without contract!) its functionality and specifications (esp. addressbook!!) are great. However, the phone really has a problem. After a while it starts switching itself off sporadically. Please read older comments on that in this forum. Furthermore, this phone is really very veeeeery slow. It's not a good choice if you want to run Java applications or write a lot of SMS. In addition I never got used to the keypad. If you cycle your battery regularly and switch off all fancy lights, tones and functions you don't need, battery life is quite competitive (remember its a flip phone!). Mine lasts for 3-4 days.

Tested it in a store... about 3 minutes to run a java game. Horrible! I've read the manual... there are some tips to save the battery: - Disabling GPRS (enable it only when accessing the web); - Disabling dynamic lights (use them only in most important events, like when you receive a call); - There's an option of quick network connection (or something like that) that enables fast connection when you lose it. Disabling that will save battery; - A less bright display will also save battery.

This phone really sucks. I think all the good comments on this forum were made by Siemens employees. It shuts down on its self several times a day. It freezes several times a day. The battery life is shorter than it should be. Some functions stoped working after a while. I've had this phone for over 6 months. Don't buy it. It's the worst kind of junk.

This phone is horrible. It's not the battery it is the phone. I have many of these and trust me my customers are not happy with it at all. Not to mention the menus are hard to navigate and there are to many icons that pop up and unless you have the owners manual you will never know what they mean.

I've had this phone until two weeks ago (when someone stole it from me during an After Forever's gig). I would miss it a lot if it weren't for a few things: 1. Siemens insists to push those childish icons on us 2. Games and Ringtones plain sucked. 3. Java was painfully slow. I mean, PAINFULLY slow. (And even if it weren't, the games would plain suck.) I got this phone free through T-Mobile about two months ago and already I am shopping around for a new cell. It has some nice features, like internet access, downloadable wallpaper and polyphonic ringtones, WAP browser, etc. but you can tell it's very cheaply made -looks like a toy. It shuts itself off randomly and the ringtones are not loud enough. When in vibrate mode, you can barely feel it. The best thing about it is the way the antenna is made, like a handlebar. So while I'm searching for a new phone, I am using my old Nokia 6010...and may end up sticking with it if I don't find anything better.

The random shutting off problem is a software problem, to see if your phone has the defective software version enter *#06#. The serial number will come up, then press info. If it says sw version 84 or 85 that is the defective version. The improved version is 95. Even with the new version though it is still a known problem that it shuts off, however much more seldom. Personally I wouldn't consider buying this phone.

Externily One of the most stylish phones available at the moment. Flip phones with square screens look weird, just like the Nokia 2650. A screen with 130 by 170 pixels would suite the phone more.

Hi there, you can increase your battery's life considerably by doing the following: 1. switch off all unneeded sounds and animations, including dynamic light alarms you don�t really need (e.g. dynamic light while making a call, start animations/sounds, key tones...) 2. set a energy saving profile for day/indoor use with reduced brightness of your display and switched off 2nd display 3. switch off GPRS while you don�t use it 4. cycle your battery regularly at least once a month (this means: discharge your battery completely before recharging it.) 5. set short-cuts, so you don�t have to toggle through the whole menu all the time. I make/receive calls of >30Min each day and my CF62 has stand by times of >72 hours (however on average I send less than 1 SMS per day).

Just want to add something: It's to slow for java and games, that's right, but no big deal, i mean java and games are "higher" cpu processes, but this phone is truly to slow for text and even for starting. you really have to wait your time to set up e.g. the phonebook when it's just started.

I have a black cosmo and i think it's worth the price!! Very small, beautiful, nice screen (but not very bright) lots of options, memory and dynamic lights function wich is really cool(blue lights in the black model), 2nd screen and good sound quality. The problems are, short battery life(50 hours or less) and its too slow for java and games. Anyone know if i can change the battery to a better one??

If your CF62 switches off automatically there are 2 possible reasons: 1. "Automatic switch off" is set to a certain time. If so, you can do the following: Press "Menue"-"9"-"6"-"5" and if there is a time specified press: "Manual" to undo this option 2. The contacts between battery and phone are corroded. Take out the battery and check the contacts. If necessary clean them. Also check whether the springs of the contacts are working. In the unlikely event that all this doesn't help: send it in and ask for a replacement! Cheers Tommy

I have had this phone about a month. I really like the phone EXCEPT that it has started turning itself off. It's possible that the battery is loose so I have folded a piece of paper and put it between the back cover and the battery. I'll know within a couple of days if that fixes the problem.

It`s the 22`th phone i have.I have a detachable camera and i made al lots of photos ....and beside the other phone i had:"Noki, Sagem, Nec, Philips,Alcatel" it`s clarity at the photos does not compare.When U take a photo and seet on the phone U can understand something of it but when U copy that photo on a computer U say that it was made with a dighital camera. U can say that this phone is unstable ...:) "lol" lets think of the other phones...arn`t they unstable if U wouldn`t take care of it?I recoment this phone to every boy that likes to take photos and play games :) It`s great! Hello, Ilove my siemens phone i have a cf62. It's cute and it does great for me. You have to actually miss treat your phone for it not to work right.But thats for all phones. The only thing thats not all that is that the time doesn't double like some t-mobile's after nine or the weekends.

The Siemens CF62 is not a good phone. Looks nice, but that's about it. Been through 5 differrent ones and all have the problem of the phone turning off by itself. Also, the screen is VERY hard to see in daylight. Very flimsy too. Would not recommend.

CF62R, black cosmo, is good phone, light, uselful and cheap. But the battery is not for longtime, about 38-40 hours. If Siemens change the capacity of it to 800 mh or more, it's better.

i had this phone for almost a year i rate this phone in the negatives its a piece of junk. it dies easily, it hard for others to hear u on, it hard to text message to people, it cuts off by itself with a full battery, its just bad. its cute in all but bad feature and performance. so i dont suggest you buy this phone unless you are giving it to a person who just likes cute things.

@Norm: For voice dialing: 1. open the addressbook (NOT phonebook) by pressing the 4-way key downwards (if your default book is the Phonebook you then have to press the left fast key once to switch to the addressbook) 2. select contact 3. press options 4. scroll down until "voice dialing" ...etc. @C. Satterlee If you can't change the left fast key this is likely to be due to your provider with whom you purchased the phone (T-mobile?). I can easily change the setting in mine by pressing the left fast key once shortly and then selecting "change". If you need some personalized fast keys you can also set functions for keys 2-9. For details take a look in your manual or browse to siemens-mobile.com they probably have an online version for you. Cheers TommyG.

@Dodo, I dont know what you specifically mean by HIFI - The phone supports 16 channel polyphonic ring tones, .wav and .srt files. If you purchase the data link cable you may be able to upload files to your phone from your PC. Alternatively, there are sites (which site is applicable in your case depends pretty much on your country of residence. - An example is www.gsmarena.com - yes, this is where you are right now) where you can download ring tones for a fee. If those sites dont list the CF62 - look for ring tones which are e.g. supported by the Siemens MC62 or C62. If you mean music (e.g. .mp3) files, then you have purchased the wrong phone - sorry

@Tony: 1. The volume control is easily accessible during a call by pressing the 4-way key upwards. 2. Ring tones can easily be changed via the "Ring Tones" menue item (simply press "menue" and select the icon with the bell (or press 6)) 3. If you have probs using the "desktop style menue" check whether your profile is set to "Big letters" and if so deselect it (simply press "menue"-9-2, scroll down and deselect "big lettters"). However, I am affraid that with the newer generation mobiles you have to get used to "desktop style menues". Siemens UI is clearly different from Nokias which again is different from Samsungs or Motorolas ... This, however, doesn't imply that it is less intuitive. If you switch to another producer you always have to adjust! I personally rank Nokia's and Siemens UI equally (and both are not on top!).

Well, this morning I got so sick of this stupid phone (can't even change the ring tone in the menue), that I decided to wash it with a warm water before I returned it to God Damned Staples store (in New York). What a surprise happened after this experiment. This junk phone would turn on for few seconds only and then automatically would shut down. In addition, ones you put the battery in, eventhough the phone is turned off, it would start constant vibration (very smart piece of junk phone). Have fun people. Always wash your junk phone before returning it to the store.

PROS: -Clear sound (that's all!) CONS: -horrible STN 65k Screen -On top of horrible screen stupid desktop type of menu -The menu is too complicated as well! (takes 4 to 5 enttries just to switch some very basic phone fetures. Also very hard to find something in this menu, because it is not organized properly ( Samsung and Nokia have the easiest menus. -No volume control not only on the side of the phone but also imposible to find it in the menu! CONCLUSION: I have no slightest idea how brilliant people as Germans have created this phone model. Bad work-Siemens! Will never buy Siemens again, unless I can check the phone before buying! Own the CF62 (not CF62T !) now for 3 months.Overall I would rate it a good phone with an excellent price/performance ratio. However,this rating crucially depends on what you want to use your phone for. Sometimes the CF62 can be quite slow and it is definitely not made for gaming (loading games can take ages). The pros are: small size, good reception, holds connections better than others, excellent speaking quality, good (in this price category!) organizer and calendar functionality, dynamic memory of about 1.9MB, quick recharging, helpful 2nd display, pressing the * key longer allows to switch off all sounds or change to one beep as ring tone. The cons: slow with Java applc., horrible polyphonic ring tones (luckily it also offers three traditional ones) and ugly wallpapers, flat buttons, bad illumination of key pad, no keys on cover, different profiles cannot have different ring tones, changing profile needs too many menu steps, average battery life, sloppy cover at the back. I even found a “hidden” function in mine: via the voice command setting you can access the otherwise not available dictaphone (up to approx. 9 Min!) (however, there is a bug: If you try to delete a saved message on the dictaphone you have to confirm by pressing the On/Off button instead of “OK”) . Would recommend phone to someone who is looking for an affordable, small, light, reliable and basic clamshell in a stylish design.

Just bought it and am finding that it isn't too user friendly. Says it has voice activated functions, what? Besides recording there is nothing than you can do such a voice dial. I like the way the phone looks, but I am disappointed in the features and manual usability.

I had the same problem but there is a solution to it. You just have to clear the sticks on the battery and in the phone with the sand paper and everything will work fine.

Well, I initially purchased this phone over the telephone with a T-Mobile USA representative, (obviously before I found about gsmarena.com) and this was a stupid mistake on my part. I sent back my first phone because it turned itself off. I got a second one as an exchange with T-Mobile, and the exact same thing happened. So, T-Mobile sent me the same phone again, and now it loses reception, forcing me to remove the battery and reboot, as well as freeze up to the point of removing the battery to reboot. Aesthetically, this phone is a work of art, but Siemens really should stick to other forms of technology, because I am most displeased with this phone. I'm looking to switch to a Nokia 6800 as soon as I can.

This phone is pretty good. Its a little slow but ok. I solved the problem with turning of just by cleaning the sticks in the phone and on the battery with the sand-paper. It has not turned of for about a month now and it would turn of every 15 minutes but now its ok.

I have to say...I'm quite impressed with this phone. I'm a guy that loves style, and this one definately has it. When I look at the LG's...sure...they're good phones...but they all look the same. I have to say by far this one is the best. Menu's really easy, and I was never really one for games, so it's all good. Price is awesome, and heck...they couldn't design their first 2 phones but this one definately takes that cake. Good work Siemens...glad to see your finally doing things on your own

Also this phone DOES freeze hard and battery to be removed. this happens when I use the text feature and that is just WRONG, Text messaging is a major feature - who were the crappy test engineers for this phone? luckily I'm getting a nokia 6800 in the mail to replace. I bought this phone 2 weeks ago, I like the design, although I find the outer case of the phone flimsy. Over all it's not bad, would have been better if you could turn the volume up louder. I tried using this phone in a crouded mall, and I couldn't hear a thing. Overall for the price it's not too shabby.

i love this phone!!! i recommend it to anyone! the only bad things are, no side volume control, games take WAY too long to load, but i wouldn't play them even if they did load fast and you really have to press on some of the number keys to make them work. other than that, it's a great phone! and just to let you know, that "handle" some of you hate, is a loop antenna. designing it that way gives this phone awesome reception; better than any of the 4 phones i've had.

just got this phone today. it's pretty nice. it's not very small but it's really flat and light. dynamic lights are cool. radio performance is good and i already talked like one hour with the battery supply from the store so i guess the battery is ok too. the menu is pretty easy to understand and the keys are great. i didn't manage to play any games though, they seem to be loading but very slowly and it fucks with my patience. overall, i recommend this!

I am thouroughly disappointed by the Siemens CF62. This phone has a tendency to freeze. I had to disconnect the battery numerous times to undo the freeze. Unlike the Nokia phones I have previously owned, I have experienced several dropped phone calls witht this phone. Despite it's affordable price, do not purchase it!

There is nothing wrong with the reception on this phone. Maybe it's the carrier you have because I have great reception on this phone, and it's better than a lot of my other friends. It is hard to download stuff for this phone and the games take too long to load.

I just got this phone a few days ago and it's pretty kewl. One of my games didn't load after 10 mins so i deleted it. Other than that it's pretty cool. Not many backgrounds, ringtones, or games but the ones that are on the phone are pretty kewl. I left my phone ring for a good few minutes just to listen to the ringtone(Da Funk). The background I have (Desert) on is looks so cool. It's a great phone. I'd recommend getting it. Besides the internal stuff it has a really kewl slick design.

The Siemens CF62 is a great small phone. Its small size & low weight are perfect for someone looking for a phone to fit confortably in a pocket.The display is bright and easy to read.The controls are good, but do take a bit of practice to get used to.The chrome detail gives this phone a very expensive look, but gets dirty quickly. The Dynamic Light feature(7 orange LED's on the edge of the phone that light up in various sequences) is nice, and will impress your friends. Its also fully custimizable so you can program it to do a pre set(or make your on) light pattern when you open or close the flip face. The battery life is on par with similar sized phones. Some people on this site complain about battery life but everyone wants their phones smaller and lighter therefore the battery is smaller and provides less run time, its a trade off and you can't have it both ways. My only gripes about the phone are: The flip design is nice, but hard to open with one hand. Seimens parts are hard to find and therefore when found are usually more expensive than say Nokia or Motorola parts. Games (games seem to take a few minutes to load). Ring tones & Graphics (there are too few ring tones and graphics pre-programed in the phone,although you can download them later).A good phone for the price if you don't play many games, or send many picture messages(no camera lens incl.)(add on camera attachment about $70-$90US). Very stylish and affordable.

Bought this phone some 10 days back. Personally, its appeal was in its simple and sleek design and features. Its loop antenna is also a plus as a functional aesthetics. The Siemens signature funtion that is its Dynamic Lights is upped a notch in this baby, I was actually a little hesitant to pick up the phone the 1st few times it rang 'cuz the d-lights was quite mesmerizing! Nice solid feel overall, and the keys feedback is good (surprisingly, 'cuz the buttons are sooo flat), both in terms of physical touch and sound. Would have been nice if the screen was larger! Flatter than most clamshell phones, but probably only 'cuz it has less functions! A nice option for the clamshell lovers who prefers a simple solid phone with a touch of elegance in design.

I am very impresed. This is the first 'flip' phone that actually receives all phone calls, even when it is in my jeans pocket. Also, no dropped calls - I stay connected. Straight-forward functionality. Long - long - long battery life. Thank goodness - no camera, no pda, no this, no that, just an awesome phone that actually makes calls, and it does it with excellence. Siemens is one of big manufacture in mobile phones, but i dun understand why they release a copied design. Siemens , remember you are not CHEA or Samsung to copy someone's design. Dont get the way like samsung do before (till now)- copy and copy from another Wake up man, you should have be much better

cf62 is nice and doesn't look as a flashy toy as z200, is lighter & smaller. sl 55 still kicks ass

Z200 vs. CF62

Siemens, where are your ideas? Do you only copy designs? This is a copy of Sony Ericsson Z200, but the CF62 doesn't look so good. SE Z200 has got the better design, but Siemens CF62 the better functions.

This is way better looking than the Z200, which is saying alot! However, the Z200 makes you look cuter. This is just makes you look badass. Perfect for those in age group 12-15.
