Siemens ME75 - User Reviews

  • No memory card? Oh well.

  • I bought this cell phone from Amazon India.I am highly disappointed because the battery drains very fast, lasting for only 6-8 hrs even in standby mode.can anyone please help as to where I can purchase a new battery?

  • Mine has been in use since early 2007 - now a historical sample by all means! Quirky phone prone to random blackouts/freezes/shutdowns, OEM accessories were unavailable/insanely expensive in its time, FW upgrades by Siemens never rolled out. Phone is incompatible w/3rd party accessories - I still haven't found a data cable that works, even with Siemens MPM software (worst useless resource hog of all times) installed on my PC. By now it's shed its rubber parts and lost IR connectivity, while most of other features nevertheless do work. I'm keeping the phone in a holster to keep dust out, using it wor calls, texting and web browsing (sic!) since I can't afford a smartphone. I've bought a NOS original battery on sale (old one lost capacity after some 7 years of constant use). A long-term destruction test, really:)

  • Bought this phone form snapdeal India. To my astonishment. The phone was in perfect working condition. I am just wondering how this seller managed to preserve this phone for 10 years. Got it for 800 rs.(10 usd).

  • Bought mine in 2006. Still works with original battery. Battery last about 4 days. I use it now as a backup phone. Rubber parts are falling apart though.

  • Start of 2006 and it still works well.

  • lol...this phone released on 2005, how did you bought it 9 years before release?

  • how we can get new siemen phones

  • Want to transfer contact info etc to computer for backup. Tried to years ago to buy equipment for this, but it ran on older software than my computer had. Se that there is IrDA / infrared. Can I use that? What is it good for if not? Y.k. Still-Using

  • Still using Siemens ME75. Has the spesifications for a mobile phone that is needed - and better battery capasity. Bought it 1st of April 1996!

  • still using my ME75

  • I cant say anything...this is great celullar phones...

  • I had this phone running more than 4 years, last year of using battery held for 2 days - no nokia or nowadays sony/ericsson can handle such period with more than 10 hours talk time in a month. One of the best mobiles I ever had.

  • Agree with all of above. Brand new and it would not even turn on! No wonder Siemens is going under producing crap like this.

  • can someone please help, with id witheld calls it doesn't ring as in there is no sound?? ive looked everywhere to change this, does anyone know how?

  • i got a MMS (picture sent to me) and i can not open it! WTF someone help me. its says you can get MMS but why can i???

  • this phone is really bad i got it a few days ago and i dont even use it that much the batteries runs in a day . how un cool is that

  • i have some problem with my cell phone : 1.plastic cover (cashing)please help me to find the original cashing. 2. my phone can't send a message to all cdma phone( ican send the mesagges but the recipient can not read my messages )

  • i already hear about siemens is bankrupt since 2004.are you sure that siemens phone is still exist on the market? i'ts very very difficult to found siemens phone there.

  • I have this phone from 2005, even if the ruber is off works just fine, allthow its not waterproof any more he he.

  • I had this phone and i think it is cool because it has great resolution and he suported a lot of extra games

  • The looks n' colors were cool . But they should replace rubber case with plastic or metal. Siemens ... why you so stubborn.

  • If this phone had radio n' card slot i think it could be sold out n' help siemens from going broke in'05. I really don't understand with siemens. They launch product which were obsolete from their competitors. Nokia already had radio n' cardslotsince'02

  • my sister has been using this phone for i think two years already and she can't give it up as she likes her phone very much. although, i myself like the phone because of its interesting features (though nearly basic), i just cannot help but comment about the lack of accessories i.e. casing or chargers that should be sold still. my sister's phone is still functional but visually not appealing already due its worn-out rubber casing. producer of siemens should i believe still support their phone models with availability of accessories to public even it becomes (becoming) obsolete with new models appearing in the market today.

  • the rubber is fully worst, it should be replaced by metal or plastic.

  • It's really a great phone. Pros: * Sturdy and well built * Good battery time * Simple but functional design Cons: * No support from neither BenQ nor Siemens * Lack of bluetooth * Lack of support for synchonization with e.g. Palm Desktop or Google Calendar.

  • i have a site for siemens me75 www.getjar.com www.sharejar.com www.modopo.com www.mobilerated.com this sites is very good

  • -i,m crash my phone within rubber. my phone isn,t broken -i,m wash my phone 2 times. first time, i,m washing phone within sealing set (rubber). my phone isn,t turning off in second time, i,m washing my phone without sealing set. my phone display turned into a blank, and a long time, this display doesn,t light. this repairs is too expensive

  • It is very similar to the C75.is there any difference?

  • Don't buy this cell phone, because the battery last just about one year and then you cannot find a new one to buy!

  • It doesnt play mp3's otherwise under ringtone it would say "polyphonic, mp3" - this only says "polyphonic"....read up before you buy.

  • it doesnt play mp3

  • siemens ME75 have mp3 music song because i sent mp3 song from my PC to siemens ME75 with infrared and siemens ME75 not open mp3 song.please i want help for this problem.help me

  • i love siemens mobile.first i have siemens c 72 and now i have siemens me 75,The memory is good, camera yes and infrared of siemens is very fast than bluetooth of lg and motorola.siemens is a good company.

  • siemens... sadly there is no next generation of ME45 siemens RULEZZZZ..!!! im not fans of one brand, im using N-Gage, but really wants hybrid phone which is mixed of N-gage+E51+ME45=Super phone...

  • I just recd this as replacement for my AX72 which was having problems. havent used a camera phone before(!). A data cable has not been supplied. How do I transfer images to my PC? I know this has IrDA, but any help would be appreciated. Also, how do I store received ringtones? Pls email, thanks in advance.

  • it's really cool.. very simple.. my phone lasted for a year and it still works. problem is that the rubber thingy has been exposed in sunlight and it has partially melted.. really not good to look at... I can't find stores that has a casing for this phone.. need help..

  • my first choice siemens mobile because its prices low but its sound system, colour, and all of things are better than others company.

  • (ME75 owner since 2 yrs) casing isnt "undestroyable"...the rubber thingy is gone...and the back panel is broken...

  • i need to know how can i use my cell phone as a gprs modem??? need information

  • I have got one ME75. I love SIEMENS mobile so much. It's good about sound quantity. I have only a ploblem: I need another ME75 mobile colour's gap. In vietnam and overthe world, difficulty to buying its. Can you help me? Thanks. For more information, contact with my email, please.

  • Hi Friska, one of my colleagues have previously the same problem with the same cell that we are using. The key to allow the program run faster is indeed similar as PC. You should minimise the memory loaded inside the phone. I hope this advice work since it does with my colleagues.

  • ME75 is quite taft cell phone. For VGA camera, the result is quite good. Well, everyting is average....BUT it likes to hang off and need to restart again each time I do something to quickly (like typing message to quick or open the game too quick. I'm afraid of loosing the memory just like when I was using A60!! Not recommended to buy it except you always change your phone in each 6 months!!

  • I have tried various (ringtone and sound)programs, but it is impossible for me to make homemade MP3 files work as ringtones. They are easily transferred with the program from Siemens, but when seeing them on the phone they are not recognized as MP3s. Otherwise excellent phone. Help please.

  • I am using ME75 for more than one year i am really sorry to say that it is purely a waste of money who have purchased the same. I cannot find the Siemens compnay phone to attend my call for repairing also if you can help me kindly forward me the SIEMENS helpline number for repairs whole body soft part is broken and pieces are coming out . My suggestion please do not buy the same.

  • The phone surivived for a year and 3 months. Not a good phone though. Well it's said to be tough but on my experience it's not. Shock proof no. Water proof yes but the rubber for a long period of time will deteriorate and not a hygeinic look. Can't buy a new case, to replace the rubber. And it just failed today, the screen is just plain white, backlight won't turn off. Removed battery. put it back for fifteen minutes and it failed again and again and again and again. Won't recommend Siemens here in Philippines for a very poor customer support service.

  • can anyone help me about my problem, i have a problem about my me75 i cannot use mms. im from philippines.

  • I washed my ME75 a few days earlier just to test its withstand against water. Well, the phone survived, however yesterday I realized that the screen had already turn to blank but the illuminating key pad won't turn off although for a very soft dim (I won't realize it if my room wasn't so dark). I plug the battery off the phone and now the problem occurs once in a while eventhough I never wash my ME75 anymore. Have you guys any sugestion?

  • Yup.. u can use the phone as a modem... its done a swell job for it.. prob is, u may hav 2 switch off the internet to recharge the phone..

  • setup gprs for me75 ? thanks you

  • Actually I want to know something? Can I use this Siemens ME75 Set as a Modem? Actually I want to use that Set for Internet Browsing. Can I use this set?

  • My ME75 crashes on different occasions. Even while I'm on the phone with somebody. When this happens, I have to restart the phone completely. I have it now one year and only had problems with the alarm. The alarm always went off, but strangely sometimes it went off without making noice. I was happy with it, but since the crashproblems that occured since start of january, I'm going to sell it on ebay to some fool! ;)

  • well; sadly i say; after 2 months of using ME75, i sold it with a great loss and now back using ME45!! sometimes they say it's a matter of luck, if so then i was so unlucky with this mobile... i faced all kind of troubles and eventually decided to get rid of it... if you are planning to buy one, then you better have some good luck....

  • Hey, what do u say??? i've installed 13 3D Java games and it all works well!!just patch it if u feel slow, yeah, it's slower than S75 (cos S75 using ATI chip)...don't go for siemens if u are nokia fans...cos it is absolutely different...

  • This is the worst handset i have ever seen for JAVA applications & Gaming. Frankly telling you all, don't go for Siemens devices who are interested in JAVA Gaming.

  • The processing speed in Java application and consistancy in connection are very poor.

  • well, if you set the illumination to %20, or even %10, the battery will last even longer. anyway. the phone looks so charismatic!

  • Does this phone support Chinese character input?

  • so far i have been using it for 10 days, its good but i am still convinced nothing could get better than ME45 (which i still have of course) one question, shouldn't the battery be super, its serving me 2-3 days at maximum, with an average 3mins. of phone calls everyday, some messagins and IRDA and thats it... whats up? any advices!!! i was worried of the joystick, but its doing well, the 4-way navigation key is absolutely better

  • Can any1 know? Do i change my casing mainly the rubber that is on the casing.it already damaged and the plastic body comes out. plz give suggestion whether i will get it or not?

  • Ya.this ph is water &dirst proof.but the body of this ph becomes more dirty & the rubber of the body become thin.and the plastic body out.

  • It's excellent phone at its price. A lot of useful features, good reception, great phone book with 1000 entry..., 100 missed calls, 100 recieved calls, 100 dialled calls. It's the key product to defeat Nokia,... Bright display. The images taken by its camera is even better those of Samsung D500. Long battery life. 3 months using ME75 is satisfication.

  • give the next series in me85 with 3d sound,mmc card,zoom 16x,compazz,radio fm,16million color

  • Great phone! Does someone know how to set the volume?

  • joystick is very responsiv and very good to use..

  • ciao, just wanna your advice about the joystick? it looks tiny and i am used to the 4-way button on my ME45, those who are using the ME75 plz advise. thanks

  • bad clock..1 min. late in 24 hr..not so nice

  • Can the cover be changed or is it fixed? How is the keypad? Messanging easy or dizzy? Thankx Shahriar - shahriar, housing of the ME75 is fixed...if you want to change it, it's advisable to bring it to your nearest benq-siemens service center. messaging is so easy, no delays whatsoever. keypad is brilliant, very responsive and keys are well-spaced from each other.

  • Can the cover be changed or is it fixed? How is the keypad? Messanging easy or dizzy? Thankx Shahriar

  • Dear all, Is there any website that offers ringtone to be downloaded online for our ME75? FYI, I live in Indonesia. thx b4

  • Dear dee, In order to set up your GPRS & MMS, simply go to [www.benq-siemens.com]. Since this phone support SOA (services over the air), all u need to do is signing up to this website and inside u'll click the SOA button. It'll guide u to the rest of the setup process via the net. I've done it before and it worked for me. FYI, I'm using a proXL sim card. Hope this help :)

  • Dear All, Please help me to set my ME75 on GPRS an MMS, I'm in indonesia and using Kartu Hallo from Telkomsel provider. thanks, dee

  • hallo for everyone!i would like to buy this phone, but i don't know if the ringtones are ok or not, because don't have mp3..can somebody tell me that? thank you

  • i don't get it, since October 2005 this mobile should be available, we are almost 10 months after that day and the mobile is not available in Italy!! i wonder when will it arrive Somalia, next millenium!!!!

  • Thanks for the response... So my case isn't normal then..? That's also what I thought, but the battery warning alarm kept beeping.. Until it finally died altogether.. I don't suppose the battery is included in the 18 months warranty..?

  • Arj, Thanks, I will set as you have suggested and will give you the feedback.

  • @ssl: congatulations on your new phone. U made a good choice. Re: the battery, the battery meter is not really accurate. Even though the meter shows empty, the phone could still last one day! Make sure to set the screensaver to analogue clock or blank to maximize battery life. Java games consume so much battery power so try to minimize its usage if u want your phone to last 3-4 days.

  • Do, Problem looks strange, just wait for one or two days, if the problem still persists then contact the Benq service people. But pl be sure that the mobile is very good one.Hence no need to be panick.

  • Just got my mom an ME75 yesterday, loved the design, display and the material... but already she complains about how hot the receiver gets only after no more than a minute of phonecall.. Is it really normal...? Or should I complain to the dealer and claim a warranty...? Please advise... Thanks...

  • Just one week back I bought this mobile after throughly going the opinions in this site. After one week of usage this is my opinion about ME75. 1) Lovely and Nice looking mobile which is giving me pleasure when i have it in my hand. 2)Reception and voice clarity is very good. 3)Ringertones are crystal clear but only few tones are good even though it is having 40. 4)Picture quality is as comparable to megapixel pictures even though this mobile is with VGA camera. 5)All the functionalities are working good for me and the software is user friendly except ringer tone setting for the first time. 6)Battery power is good, but I am not sure whether it will behave as they have recommended because at the end of the second day the curser is going to the bottom, although i am making very limited calls.Using camera is consuming more power and the cursor goes down very fast.I need to monitor further. 7)I am 100% sure, for the price of 6000INR,a much worthwhile mobile from my favourite Siemens, for the same price, Nokia would have given me peanut. 8)After one week I am feeling highly comfortable and I have a satisfaction that I have made a right choice of going to Siemens because my earlier Sony Ericsson has given me enough battery problem. 9)I feel, Siemens would have added features like MP3/FM and might have priced little high, but for this price it is unfair for us to expect those features which we will use very rarely. 10)Fantastic job by Siemens who have made this model for a middle class people like me. Please continue to do this kind of good job.My best wishes to you.

  • It's affordable phone with many useful functions.

  • It does its job well. No frills, no fuzz. Best value for money.

  • i personally think this kind of mobile is ok but there's one-->the battery's often lowwing:/But's great and simple t use:)

  • Excellent phone. Robust, compact and has a very good battery perfomance. My ME75 needs recharging one time per week.

  • Guys, remember, in this phone, even though the battery meter shows empty, you still have 1 day of power.

  • thanks arj. i've read it. i have mine set to analogue now.

  • Bok: If you read the user's manual, it says that the analogue clock saves more power than digital clock. Although it does not have most of the features new phones have, this is the most user friendly and sturdy phones around. Ive tried Nokia, SE, Motorola and I actually find Siemens easier to use. If ur looking for a well-built phone just for texting and calls, this is it for you.

  • @ Su: what particular old nokia model? remember that 65k colors and a large screen can eat up battery power. it'll also depend on the signal strength of your provider in your area.

  • I think the battery is not good. Even thought it is 1000 mAh, it just 2 days long. My old Nokia is much better (6 days long with normally use).

  • i would like a plan to buy this, so, i need help from u, who has already use this me75, is this good?? what problem u get after use this? pls, i need ur help , thanx.

  • size of siemens me75 its a great but it need to be like siemens m75 features and better to be in a 3G sport so do it siemens am waiting for your next ....

  • thank you, I did it

  • i sold my v1050 because it was really terrible phone. Yes it had many functions but its performance was terrible. Battery was discharging even when the phone was turned off. N when it was on it took like 30 minutes of doin whatever on the phone to discharge it.

  • You should follow this set of commands: setup->display->illumination->then up or down with the joystick to change the illumination(note:not right/left) Enjoy ur mobile..:)

  • How can I adjust the illumination for my me75? thanks

  • just very good

  • It is the user's guide that does not recommend using the digital screensaver due to too much power consumption. The other screensavers (analogue clock or blank screen) are OK.

  • to dark and exciter: some guys in this forum said that the digital screen saver takes more power than the analog? what's your say on this? between the three (energysaving, digital clock, analog clock), what screen saver takes up the least power? thanks.:) ...still obssessing about the battery...:)

  • dark: try www.modopo.com imho it has the most complete collection of themes.;) re: applications...check this out: there's no ME75 listed but the M65 section will do. hope this helps....=) i may add, re: forums...www.club-siemens.net is still the best out there.;)

  • hi exciter, dark. thanks for the info on the battery. i have adjusted my phones settings based on your recommendations. I still have a jpg wallpaper though. illumination at 50%, screensaver digital clock after 1 min idle, no colour skin. i hope my battery reaches max potential soon. thanks.:)

  • and now to give u some sites for some siemens themes:;) here u can find some themes! and here: i hope its helpfull! and to XCITER if u know some other sites or forums with more themes or applications please tell me! and by the way, there is a very nice forum for siemens phones: www.siemens-planet.com take care people!

  • btw simon, i'm just curious...why did you sell your moto? i've looked up the specs of the V1050 from this site, it seems to be a fully featured phone. what's wrong with it?=P

  • @simon: C75 is not that bad...my wife has it and i really find it very elegant.=) if you're not the rugged type, this phone is for you. it's slimmer and lighter....and as you mentioned, cheaper!=P go for it!=)

  • bok, i forgot to mention...the battery will take about 4-5 charge cycles before it reaches its maximum performance..it'll improve further after that. if you don't fiddle with your phone that much, it could reach 3-4 days. it'll also depend on the signal of your provider in your location. the weaker the signal, the faster it eats up battery power. hope this helps.=)

  • hi there bok, congrats on your new ME75!=) quote: once again, thanks for the tips. i'll be applying them in a bit. i have a couple more questions if you don't mind... what is the display if the phone has been fully charged? the manual doesn't say anything about the display when fully charged. - just check the screen after 1 to 1hr and 15mins. this is the average time table of a fully charged siemens battery. if the arrow stops moving from left to right, then it's done.=) and also, is your battery made in indonesia too? if it's not, am i to expect that my battery (from indonesia) will run like the other batteries (from indonesia) that some guys posted here? lasting only 2 days.. sigh... i'm obssessing about the battery. i had a phone before this one that needed only 1 full charge a week. i guess i'm expecting this phone to perform the same... thanks once more. - guess you are..=P hehe. mine lasts for about 2 days with normal use...just remember, 65k colors can easily it up power. sometimes 3 days, if i use it rarely. try to adjust your illumination. mine's just 50%, more than enough for me. you can set it lower if you want, it depends on your preference. this will definitely save battery power. also, you may set the screensaver to digital clock. don't worry about the battery, no matter where it's made, siemens always makes sure of the qualtiy of its accessories. my phone is also made in germany and battery also came from indonesia...no problem here.;)

  • hi dark! once again, thanks for the tips. i'll be applying them in a bit. i have a couple more questions if you don't mind... what is the display if the phone has been fully charged? the manual doesn't say anything about the display when fully charged. and also, is your battery made in indonesia too? if it's not, am i to expect that my battery (from indonesia) will run like the other batteries (from indonesia) that some guys posted here? lasting only 2 days.. sigh... i'm obssessing about the battery. i had a phone before this one that needed only 1 full charge a week. i guess i'm expecting this phone to perform the same... thanks once more.

  • hi bok; we are glad that u like ur phone, about the battery,well....after my first charge;the battery drained off after exactly 3 days...with a lot of use of course(it was new and everybody wanted to see it and play with it)! the second charge lasted for 4 days..., siemens tells us it could last for 450h,but this is reached in optimal conditions! things that will drain ur battery fast: -using GIF pictures as wallpapers or as screensavers. -using IRDA a lot or leaving it on. -using the camera a lot. -playing JAVA GAMES. all these make ur battery's standby shorter!! in normal usage like sms and medium calling...it should last u like 5 days! u can put the digital clock as ur screensaver and reduce illumination to 50% to increase the battery life! take care man and enjoy ur Phone;)

  • to dark and xciter: thanks for the advice. i just got it today.:) and i love its feel and keypad. so far i'm very satisfied. i got the one made in germany, but i have a concern though.. the battery that came with my phone is made from indonesia and i'm worried if their promise of 450 hours stand-by time(1000 mAh) will hold. i've read from someone here that his battery stays for just about 2 days.. should i contact siemens about this? also, after waiting for the phone to reach "battery empty" once i got it, i charged it fully for the first time (turned off of course). but then just after about 6 hours the battery has gone down to 2/3. should i be worried or did this happen to you too in your initial charging? once again, thanks a million.

  • I've sold my damn motorola v1050 n now wanna buy this Siemens. But i'm stuck between this one n c75. C75 is 30$ cheaper n I don't know which one i should buy

  • to bok: dark is absolutely right!=) go get it, an affordable mobile with lots of useful functions...a classic siemens. about your first Q, yup, it has text ID. it has the usual shaded (marked) name of the sender. also an old siemens trick, as long as the shaded name of the sender is visible on the screen, you may opt to call the sender by just pressing the call button. good luck!=)

  • to BOK; i bought this phone 2 weeks ago and i would like to say that this phone is just amazing,i want u to go and feel the phone in ur hand,i love it,its small and rezistant... about ur questions....this phone can store 100 messages in the inbox, plus the 30 msgs that u can store in ur SIM Card,Plus the arhive!! it has photo call, and a good reception and the ringtones are very loud, the screen is bright and veru clear and it doesn't fade in the sun! about the update,i have version 22 and they didnt release any new versions yet! so i didn't try the update! if u have any questions,i am glad to help!!

  • has anyone updated the software of their phones? how do you go about it? the instructions on the web site is a little broad. i'd like a more specific instructions. thanks a million.

  • i am considering buying this phone. i was wondering if the name of your contact is displayed if you receive a message from him. and also, my sim card can only save up to 30 mssgs, does that mean that i have to archive messages all the time? how many messages can i store in the archive? thanks.

  • A simple yet very useful phone. Wont give you problems like other units do.

  • Setting the screensaver to "Digital" clock will eat up your battery. You had better set it to "Analogue".

  • just put on screensaver digital clock and you will solve the problem with batery

  • its good size but bad no bluetooth card slot same like M75 features with 262.100 colour hoping for the next ....

  • Good phone except for the battery. It comes with 1000mAh but even if you use the phone just a bit, the battery dies within a day. I guess the only solution is to buy a proper battery, like Japanese Accu and replace the Indonesian cr*p that's supplied in the original package.

  • i really love using this set its a comfortable one with friendly options , good resolution and attractive appearance and above all it has to b best coz I am da one using it ha ha

  • As max said,if it were from nokia,it would probably cost twice the cost! look at nokia 5140i,in my country it costs 210 EURO,and why?? cause u dont pay for extra features,,,u pay for the Brand's name! at least siemens give u a well built phone for little money, and i like it cause i pay for what i get!

  • Dark is right. For an entry level price you get a nice and sturdy phone already. If Nokia released this kind of phone, it would probably cost double. One more thing I like is that it is one of the last models released carrying the Siemens brand only. All new phones have the BenQ-Siemens tag already. Which makes it sort of a collectible...

  • man its not that this phone should've come out 5 or 6 years ago,its simply a middle range phone that is a very good choice for the money!! if u want a high class phone, then there is the SGX75 or go for BenQ-Siemens Phones! not everybody afford high class phones! i hope i made my self clear!

  • What happened to Siemens? they were doing so good but it seems they are giving us phones that should have come out 4 or 5 years ago, siemens back up!

  • what is the difference beetween the one made in germany and the one made in china??

  • I guess your phone was made in China my friend..mine says made in Germany.. and it rocks... :)

  • Iv finaly sold this phone after one month. Rubber is damaged on two places after just one month of usage. This is like rubber on the pencil. Rubber on joistick is also damaged. Iv just wearing this phone in my pocket. Not very good bilt. Chip materials.

  • The only way to test the waterproof is under the fountain!!!I tested it and it even didn't turned off!!!I love this phone!!!!

  • I have had this phone for about 3 months...one thing i love is the battery..cuz i talk a lot in phone...about 5h a day...and today my last call made with empty battery lasted 27 min..and the battery hasen't died yet..this is incredible...thnx siemens!! ^_^

  • I got this ME75 since last weekend. It replaces my Siemens CF62 which died last friday. What a smashing little phone! A huge step forward from my CF62. I wanted an outdoor phone without all the frills. I had a ME45 in the past and wanted something like that. The only choice was the me75. Menu is as logical and easy as ever before. I always had Siemens, so no problems there. Software feels very quick and responsive. I feared the buttons where a bit too hard and too small, and that the bottom row was placed to low. But this is not true. Buttons work like a charm. The little joystick can be a bit too sensitive at times and at others not sesitive enough. A 4-way navigation button might have been a better choice. I charged the battery for 24 hours on saturday. Placed in the phone on sunday morning. Today we are tuesday and the indicator shows about 90% battery capacity. I have been playing around a lot with it. This looks very good. Synchronizing with Outlook over IRDA (I had the software of my previous S55) and it works fantastic! After the CF62 I had a rather bad feeling about Siemens, but this ME75 proves wrong. Very good job Siemens!

  • There are some COOOL tests here ->http://www.online-translator.com/url/tran_url.asp?lang=en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fallsiemens.com%2Freviews%2Fview.php%3Fid%3D72%23up&direction=re&template=General&cp1=NO&cp2=NO&autotranslate=on&transliterate=on&psubmit2.x=62&psubmit2.y=23

  • YOUR batterry sux!!!My baterry is original and it stays almost 48 hours with a big usage!!!

  • I had this phone and the battery sucks. I got it for almost 2 months. After 3 weeks of using it I notice the battery is not working pretty well. The battery runs out for almost 12 hours. I use good charging habits wherein I charge if the phone tells me to.

  • I dipped my ME75 in a glass of water for a few seconds and the software went bonkers. When I press a button, a different function happens and the backlight died. I couldnt send a decent text message and couldnt lock my keypad. After a few hours, when it dried, it went back to normal.

  • you can store messages in the archive section. limit will all depend on the available size of the flexmem.

  • Number of messages that can be stored in the phone is 100 + simcard memory. This phone is not as "high-tech" as most phones now but it serves its purpose. This is not a nerdy phone. Its built for action. You can drop it anytime and not have to worry. You can use it while taking a shower too. Can those other "hi-tech" phones do that? =)

  • salamat Mohammad; if i am not mastaken, this phone can store like 200 messeges, but if store a lot of messeges then i advice u buy a Symbian OS phone and then u can store a lot of messeges,i had Nokia N-Gage and i had like 450 messeges in it!! but is u want an indistructable phone then take the ME75,i love it and its really great!

  • how many messages we can save in this phone. any boddy help me i like to have mobile in which maximum sms memory have.

  • I think the ME75 it's even better than the M75..the applications on the later are too many and too slow...i reccomend a sony ericsson for the multimedia phone fans..for hardcore life, i.e always on the move, the ME75 is fantastic..by the way i have this phone from 2 months too...no signs of rubber problems...or anything..and the battery is GREAT!!!

  • If u want a water, shock and dust resistant phone with bluetooth and mp3, i suggest u get the Siemens M75. If u want the same durability in a small package with simple applications, i.e, faster software, get the ME75.

  • No. This phone does not have MP3 or bluetooth...but instead it has IRDA and a great battery..plus the fact that it is INDISTRUCTIBLE :)

  • I want to get this 4n but does it have mp3 and usb coz those are some of the features I want in 4n.Some pse tell mi coz I really love this 4n

  • Mine is almost 3 months old and its still ok. Just a few scratches on the rubber sides.

  • Ruber on joistick is damaged after just a month of usage. What is next? To much ruber on this phone. To much!

  • more on next series...!!!repair in display

  • No. The rubber is not wearproof. It will expand, show marks and scratches eventually due to wear and tear and accidental drops. It also easily gets dirty since the dirt sticks to the rubber. These are tradeoffs to having rubber parts w/c improve phone durability.

  • Is the rubber wearproof ?!!! How long will be until they get thin and uggly?!!!

  • Thanks br41nless! Congratulations on your new phone...u made the right choice =)

  • hi max, here's the translated page that u give. i think those tester is some crazy guys. btw, i have my own me75 now. i love her so much same as my lost me45.

  • this is really the best phone i ever saw! the abuse was really hard but the phone was amazing! really amazing!! BRAVO SIEMENS!

  • Yes its quite hard to remove the simcard. But I think Siemens did this on purpose because its supposed to be shock resistant. If the simcard can easily be removed, it might be dislodged when dropped. The ME75 is a wise buy.

  • Wow! The phone was totally abused! Too bad I dont understand Russian....They even washed it w/out the battery and cover which is quite dumb. Of course water would seep through without the cover! Bottomline is this phone is a great buy. For its price, the ME75 has a lot to offer and its rocks!

  • Go to the crash test page of this phone You'll see some incredible crash test pictures.

  • To those encountering problems with the software....I suggest you try their firmware download service-over-the-air. Its a free software upgrade without having to connect it to a pc. Check out the benq-siemens website for instructions. I just tried it and i got the latest sw version already. Siemens rules!!!

  • Two problems. Phone blocked while I try to capture some video and I disconect the battery to take back to normal. One more great problem- It is almoust imposible to easy change the SIM card from this phone when you first time put in phone. They dont count that somebody want to change SIM card from this phone- unbelivable.

  • I have it for 2 weeks now. Battery last 4-5 days if you dont use it much and if display contrast set to low value and if screensaver is energysaving. I dont prefer joisticks. I would rather to see navipad on this kind of phone. Last row of keys is placed to low it would be beter if they put it on higher position. I think that digital clock as screensaver consuming more electric power than analog clock, but analog clock is almost useless.

  • I have bought ME75 one week ago. Generally, the software is easy to use. However I dount about the battery life that the manufacturer has said. My battery lasts only 2 days !!!

  • I little bit dissapointed with mine ME75 since many time having troble in using video recording and also the clock alway late

  • People do you know how to increase the video shooting on my ME75???And how to turn off the sound when i shoot???

  • well; after about 3 years and a few months with the ME45, i think it's about time to go to ME75,but not so fast, it still hasn't arrived the markets here in Jordan, plus; i am the kind of person who buys the mobile in it's last days in the market, so i pay less-come on, in one year time it will be at least 50% cheaper than when it first comes out.... anyway, thanks for all the guys who give advices, they are quite useful... ciao

  • thx for ur reply,i will see where this phone is made.. i hade a nokia made in finland and it was working perfectly! never had problems with it!

  • Of course it makes difference especially in the software..but also in the way phone is assembled..i would reccomend to get a siemens ME75 which says:Made in (any place inside EU, better Germany or nordic countries) I had Nokia made in China and it was a terrible phone..

  • i wanted to know if it makes any difference weither its made in germany or in any other country like china...etc???

  • Guys...siemens ME75 is one of the best phones in the current market especially for those people looking for a phone without extensive multimedia features..just the basis..The best this phone offers is great display and phantastic durability (resisted to a crash from 3rd floor with only a slight mark in the rubber band as well as to a bucket full of water :) The last but not least to mention is the battery..the mighty 1000mAh..almost like a Duracell :) In fact with 3 hours of daily talk + sms use + photo + 24h continuous standby I need to charge it only once a week..incredible but true..even when u notice that the battery shows empty don't worry..this baby will keep u going for at least 1 day..thank you siemens..this phone costs little but buying it it's worth it!!!

  • Think I'll keep my M65 untill we see a robust (watter/ dust resistant) phone with bluetooth!

  • i've bought ME75 2 days ago .... and i love it ...all features are good ... its help me to do my business ;)... thx siemens

  • halim,u ask a lot from a phone,u have the M75 if u want memory and mp3 and better camera!! this phone is great for its price! u want all phones to have great specifications, and if they do,then they will all have a high price!! this results that low budget people wont have any phone to buy! so to reduce the price they have to cut some features! the nice thing is that it has low price for a well built phone! take care people!

  • keep on design for next series [ME85] and give radio fm with antene and MP3\aac.upgrade your display to 176x220,memory 40mb and video rate

  • thx max a lot! i will go this week and buy it! take care bro;)

  • No squeaks bro. The sides are wrapped with rubber and the battery cover is screwed shut. This may not be as tough as the M75 but it definitely beats any Nokia phones around.

  • thx max for ur fast answer. the M75 is solid but its too bulky! what i want to know is if there is any backlash,or does it squeak when u compress the phone in ur hand? i hate phones that are not well built, and that squeak or the back cover has backlash!!! i have faith in siemens, the M series are the best!

  • The phone is solid enough. Of course its not as tough as the M75 as the ME75 is a lot smaller and lighter. It would withstand unintentional drops. I have also washed it and experienced no problems.

  • i want to ask some owners what they think about the construction of the phone? is it as solid as the M75???? cause the M75 i heard that its solid as a rock! and i really want a solid phone! i know it doesnt have bluetooth but an IRDA is not bad as long as its functional! and i dont care about the camera cause i am planning on buying a digi cam, cause in my opinion either u make a clear nice photo or u dont make at all! this phone is cheap and has good battery! and enough memory!

  • Hmm someone might missunderstand my last post, but the phone is a good one in my oppinion. It`s a phone for people who basicly want a phone and no micro laptop! No bluetooth Buhuu, quit the whineing please..

  • OMG! +1 recharge in one week (pretty new though) +"cheap", good buttons +incredible nice camera -no USB, so why make such a good camera? -too LARGE display, what a battery drain -slow software, some stupid unnessacery software. -COULDN`T IT be possible to let you choose the background color when typing messages? Who wants that blue on bright white in the middle of the night?

  • Andrew, fyi, right now, my battery meter is 3/4 full and my last charge was 2 days ago. Not bad =)

  • I would like to know how long the battery stays? Because from the look, it doesn't stay for more than two days.

  • I own ME75 by 2 days ,and it rocks despite of my high expectations .. well done Siemens

  • do siemens' phone have the feature of manage calls (like Sony Ericsson's)? i would like to recommend this phone to my dad :)

  • Off-Road Version, I Like that !

  • Only Siemens M75 has bluetooth among all outdoor phones. Even Nokia 's outdoor phones dont have bluetooth. If you want a rugged phone w/ bluetooth, there's only 1 model for you. If you want a simple and light yet sturdy phone without the fuzz, ME75 is it! Ive had both ME45 and now, ME75 and I'm really happy with them! Go Siemens!

  • Why no bluetooth with voice tags? This is a out-door / tradesman phone, bluetooth headset very useful. Would buy now if it had these features. I only use Siemens but they never get it quite right.....

  • siemens rulz.

  • Guys, pls tell me more about the battery, I'm looking for a phone with long battery life, but not only long life in standby, but in talk time too. If somebody has bought this phone - tell me your real impressions, because I don't believe the specifications about the battery at the bottom are real...

  • I think the rubber plug of Siemens is way better than Nokia's rubber cover for their rugged phones. Nokia's turns brittle and breaks off after a while. Its just a matter of being careful and not misplacing the plug. There's also a spare plug so if u misplace both plugs, there's something wrong with you. Dont blame the manufacturers. I recently bought the ME75 and its great!

  • Cant you people at Siemens design a better plug?Especially the one at the bottom. Lets make a bet of how many ME75 owners who had lost the bottom plug.I'd say, most of them.

  • Dude, this phone is definitely the one for those who loves to go outdoor. It's simple, cheap and sturdy. I bring my m35(yeah, it's old) while playing with my rollerblades and guess what, It actually survived the torture. And I'm an x-game fan. And for the price, lets just say, you still can buy another one when the phone totally scrapped. But if you want to be those posh look alike, then why don't you go to a communicator or an O2 XDA?? They got every multimedia you ever wanted. Just remember not to drop it.

  • 7 days over one charge - this battery rocks... This is the son of N6310i:P

  • It has speakerphone but I dont know about the magnet thing. I dont think there's a phone that has that feature. I want this phone! Too bad its not available in the Philippines yet...

  • I want to buy this middle class phone that I think the cost is suitable for my pocket. But is there "speaker phone" on it ?. And .. is this phone equipped with magnet too which enables me to pull small changes or coins from short distance ?

  • Thx. cowboy

  • u can find it in cellphone counter for about Rp.1.500.000,-

  • Thinking about replace my ME45 (I used 3 years without any problem).Waiting to release at indonesia, will be?

  • It's already avaliable yo!

  • i had my C75 and i love it, it didnt have any bluetooth but it has infra red.. i think its enough to middle budget phone like C75/ME75

  • this is a really nice phone!! i'll get it when i have money!

  • To Raul: Siemens phones have 100 miss, 100 dialed, 100 recieved. The specifications here is not accurate believe me. Do u know that siemens phones even tell how much time the phone has been ringing if u miss a call!!. if u want card slots and bluetooth and mp3 go for M75 its rugged and have all the features.

  • Does your phone ME75 support Anti-radiation

  • Do u really need a log of more than 10 missed and dialed calls?? Thats nonsense. Although it does not have bluetooth and memory card, I still like this phone and will buy it as soon as it is released in the Philippines. Its sturdy, and has all the basic features needed in a cellphone. Ive had the ME45 before and it was great! Looking forward to this new ME75 from Siemens.

  • why this guys don't put blue tooth on their phones? and why this low capacity in terms of calls record? usualy 10 miss 10 dialed is not good for them when we check that a german manufacturer is facing dificults to compete with other phone makers in same step in Mozambique for example the young population don't apreciate phones like this from siemens, something has to change

  • to pascotam No Bluetooth + No MC Slot this phone has an MP3 player and the internal Memory is only 10MB and in my opinion this is the ultimate stupidity in Mobile phons world

  • No bluetooth??? What a waste!

  • i read in the official web of siemens, the camera was use 1.3 mpix..is that correct, icause the model is much lovely than M75...and whatabout the price???

  • To Zoran: This is a mid to low class phone. the only advantage is the smaller size and better battery

  • Squal: thanks, I realized recently, that M75 is much better equiped, so, now, I'm in confusion. Why did they make this phone, is there any advantage over M75 ? regards

  • To Zoran: if u want more features go for M75 it has memory cards, better camera, bluetooth and so on..

  • In the official site, it states it can play mp3 ringtones. So i guess thats good. More reasons for me to buy it. However, when i emailed the people at siemens, they said that the ME75 and c75 will be released in UK when tested and accepted. So does that mean if it doesnt get accepted, i would have to buy my siemens NOT from uk?

  • Dexaur:I agree with you. I also head ME45 for 2 years, and it was excelent phone. Regarding to this one, it seems to me, there is no difference with ME45, except in color display? They could have built some card slot ?!

  • Does anyone know if the phone will be sold in UK on a plan? Possibly on 02 as 02 sells a few siemens phones? Also, if launched in UK, what would the price be like? Also, was wondering how does .AMR ring tone sound like compared to mp3? Is it possible to raise the bit rate of .AMR like mp3? Thanx. Seriously thinking of getting this phone as battery life is LOOOOONG and it's 'fall' proof as well as I'm an old Siemens Fan (ex SL45 user)

  • Okay! sick of having whatever new stuff like mp3 or whatever..! I had the ME45 for over 3 years... then I realised that I cant get anotherone just like it! It was the best phone ever! Now Im stuck with M75 wich is good... except the standby and talk time and also the size. I have been waiting almost in vain for a new ME series!!! Hopefully it will be as me old.

  • Some people might be primarily interested in the looks of a phone, but some of us are more concerned about how it works. And Siemens happens to be the only company making new "outdoor" phones right now - ie. phones that don't break the first time they are dropped to the floor.

  • whooops the retail version does come with a cover..

  • WTF? no cover for the cam? i mean at least M75 had a rubber cover for the camera lens!

  • if u look at the 1st 3 rows of siemens phones u realise that ALL the mobiles look alike. A.k.a, design useless. The phones are too squarish and the whole thing is unstylish. The FIRST thing a person if lookng for in a phone is the look. if the phone has excellent features but looks ugly,he/she won't buy it.

  • ME75 is liek C75, just ME75 have shock/water/dust resistance and better battery.

  • What a pity! I think ME45 is the best mobile ever, but this new release seems too low-classed. This is just a GREAT business-mobile, but it has no multimedia features. I hope at least the price will be very low!

  • I just hope that it'll be as good as ME45, although they weren't in the same class (this re-positioning of ME class below S class seems pretty odd, but...)

  • look good but in fact its still siemens set.i've had 3 siemens phones in my life and all have been too slow and clumsy ...with low performance, buggy software, short battery life...these days i changed my mc60 for N1101. i'm awared any nokia set is better than any siemens one in equal class. the greatest siemens' advantage is their reasonable prices. but if you look for quality siemens is not your brand

  • Can't u understand? this is not a high end phone. If u want great features then go for SXG75 or SG75 or even S75.

  • No more Siemens in my life... :(

  • Great Phonebook memory..., that's all

  • VGA camera and 65k colors?? nggg....

  • where is the MP3, Radio, But for me...its okay....i just love siemens product.

  • wow...i hope this one is good as ME45.....

  • to vic don't count on the new ME class , the 45 series was the best ever produced by siemens I still own SL45i and it still work very fine , my brother has S55 and it is really terrible the battery can't stand 5 min of talk time I hope the 75 series come better , I am still waiting for the SXG75

  • look like c75. i think c75 is better than me75.

  • Thank you Siemens ! I still have ME45 phone. It's been a best phone ever produced by Siemens. Can't wait for this new set to come out. Just one more thing, please make it without a toy camera.

  • of course its midle class with average specs, but i think its a good sign that benq is gonna continue the M series
