Ahh...my very first symbian phone...feels like it was just yesterday when i got hold of this phone...it's like a dream...huge display, MMd support, add on apps, wav and mp3 music, games(if u know where to get the apps) and videos...it surpasses lots of other mobile devices at that time...The experience i've had with this phone will stay in my mind forever! probably not long from now i might even get a 2nd hand k508 to re-live the experience! lolx...a 2nd k508 in my country

same with ice+chameleon,,i've been using this phone for more then 3 yrs now.. (37 months).. Same with ice,i dropped this so many times but it is still working.. Then,, i send sms with my sweetie K508i for 11000 sms,,but there wasn't problem with the keypad.. But,,it's camera is not good now.. There are so many red "star" on the photo.. if only this phone has an more megapixel camera then i wouldn't think of buying K850i...

i've been using this phone for nearly 3 yrs now. and everything's great. never have any problem at all. i accidentaly dropped it many times, and nothing went wrong. the features are good, the bad thing is no radio & no memory expansion. but hey, turns out that i can live without that :D

Hi Guys.. I used to won this phone and it was very good at the time..Even now it would be good for someone who just wants and everyday use phone with the added feature of a half decent camera..display is ok and pistures taken look good on the phone..memory is ok but the phone does not support removable memory.. Joy stick on this phone does tend to get worn and user may have problems with it... Mine was very tough..and is the only one of my many phones that didnt break(and it went through alot), tough phone..ended up giving it to my grandma..she loves it..all round good phone =)

i love this phone i bought it for �2-3 becauase it was faulty it wouldnt charge i did open the phone and resolder the contacts on the charge socket it and it now works great,yes i had the joystick problem but all its down to is dust for those technically minded open the phone find the joystick control and spray it with switch cleaner (get this from any electronics shop) once i did this joystick worked perfectly a brilliant phone in my opinion one feature i found excellent is when youve installed a game and the screen isnt right you can change the size of the screen for that particular game which makes it able to use games that werent meant for the phone

I have this phone for the last one year. Its got great sound and display is also good. Camera quality is good. But only thing that i hate in this phone is the joystick. Last few months it behaving in a strange way. Does not work in a perticular direction. I would say, DON'T GO FOR THIS PHONE. ITS A GOOD PHONE FOR THE FIRST FEW MONTHS... NOT AT ALL A GOOD PHONE...

I had this fone for just over a year and the only problem i had was the joystick stopped working, and also it is a very durable fone with great features. mine is now dead, the lcd cracked so now i am using a nokia 6030. 6030 - also a great phone, for it price.

Well, I must have a complete dud, because I have had so many problems with this phone. Even basic functions such as being able to recognise incoming messages/calls from people whose details are in the address book seem beyond this phone. In the address book where it is supposed to have the Groups function where you can move your contacts into different groups, it moves the wrong numbers!!! It often crashes when I receive a phone call. The ear piece has very poor sound quality so it can be very difficult to understand the person at the other end. The jostick will often decide not to work in one direction. I could go on and on.... This is not a good phone. I look after my phone and it looks in very good condition, despite the frequent urges I have to throw it against a wall, of which it would certainly not survive, being quite a fragile design. These faults I have explained are not due to it being roughly treated. But like I said, maybe I'm just the unlucky one who got the dud. Good luck!!!

HEY PPL!!!!!! buy diz fone.ITS THE BEST!!!!! it has 3D GAMES and it is so fast...i had it 4 1 year n then bought 6230i n it sux..i dont use blutooth n radio n memory slot so it's the same..the animations r 3 times faster on k508 than on 61230i, n the battery life goes like 5-6 days even if u play sme kool 3d GAMES.I RECOMMEND SE..~SE FOR EVER~

It is a cute, fancy & handy set.It is working satisfactorily after passing about 5 months, but joystick is the problem, sometime it sticks & does not respond, camera result is good in days times only. In night times, it captures dotted pictures / video. Moreover during capturing video / picture, if camera is slightly moved or captured object moves then result is very bad. The colors depth is good but I would be happy if it is enhanced. Memory is not sufficient. Audio quality is too good.

I bought this phone in Nov '04, and it has been serving me well during this period. For the pice of this phone ($148 without trading an old one), the features were well packed. MP3 ringtone (unfortunately only for calls, and not for sms too), a mp3 player, vga camera.. Main gripe is with its charger connection... it feels so flimsy!

PPL i have had this phone for 7 months now and this is what i think of it. It is great phone for value with great graphicaly enhanced menues and great animated themes. Camera (was) pretty good when the phone was new but with all the new 2MP camera tech its not as great. joystick does play up after a while depending how u take care off it. it could do with more memory if your a heavy phone fanatic like me but overall its a good phone. sony ericsson is the way to. PS dont get a motorola lol cyas

to everyone in india-your 508 shows only 8mb because of the 2 hindi videos and 2 hindi mp3's that came along with the phone.they dont get deleted.even if you delete them you dont get any extra space.when you master reset the phone they get back into their place.There's also hanging problems with this phone.all because of the firmware.so dont buy this phone until the firmware is changed.bye

the phone is good. it is very durable. i dropped it at least 50 times at waist height and it still works fine. the only problems are that the camera sound is very annoying and cant be turned off. the toggle thing spoils easily. the paint comes off(i have a few friends who use this phone as well and they have the same problem).

Well had this phone for a some months now and i would rate it a 6/10. Few things i dislike about the phone : Very little memory, cannot change sms tone, lags when browsing pictures, has an average camera, and the design gets boring after awhile. Must say that its very hardy though. Dropped it many many times and its still works as well as ever! :) Not too prone to scratches too. Good if you don't mind the design, little space and average camera. Great price.

Silent the phone by pressing the # key for a few seconds or in stand by mode press 'more' and select silent mode.It works in older phones but it does not work in newer phones.If it does not work try calling a toll free number and then taking a picture.Dont tape the speaker inside.Keep your finger pressed to the speaker,that will reduce some noise.

lol teejay i do the same thing to mute my camera but anyway this phone rulz its usability does not suk to all ppl who think that. Its Graphical Enhanced tech poos all over nokias boring cartoony graphics and motorola and i many others.for $230AUS it was a bargain and its got a great camera quality and somthing good about it is u can compress songs on the computer and send em through a data cable to your phone and listem to them. Works great when i want to listen to music in the shower :D maybe it could do with a bit more memory considering how much videos take up. But overall it RULZ BUY IT!!!! i promise u wont regret buying it!

to put the MUTE to the camera you only need to press the button that has a crossed-musical note....and the problem of putting the MUTE to the phone is that if u get a call i won't sound :(

there is a way to bypass sound of clicking pic... dial a toll free no or your helpline or something and while dialling or in call switch on the camera and take the pic... no sound will come :)

Sony Ericsson K508i is a great one to deal with. Nice colors, great features and good Camera. I have been using it for 3 months. Now I m facing few problems like; How to silent the Camera Voice? I always envy SE mobile phone, that's why in the last 2 years I ever use K500i, K508i, and J200i. However the keypad is LESS convinience compared to other mobile phone such as Alcatel, Siemens, or some Nokia model(you can try to use that). In terms of design, quality, and feature, some SE model are on top of my wish list, but I just hope SE will make small improvement over this keypad thing. My method of purchasing mobile phone (now) always playing around first with keypad on the dummy (or working sample always better), after find it convinience to use, then start talk about features etc.

Got this phone for 1 months, current price now around US$ 165 (no plan, I'm in Indonesia). Usability sucks (keypad difficult to use, text size too small and thin), screen so so (inferior compared to Sxxxxxg TFT screen). Features good (built/design, camera, sound, organizer, memory, battery life, connectivity, etc), only lack bluetooth. SE always launch good phone with jam packed features, but (as always) forget the usability. I'm dissapointed with this situation, and the siblings of K508i, K500i also have the same problem. For US$ 165 price point, I recommend Axxxxxl 7xx on top of K500i/K508i(I write review about this model also). If only SE have something better in term of usability, I will be one of SE great fan (too bad that not yet happen). Read article about great design of SE mobile phone in local newspaper here, including interview with 1 of top manager of the company. All for all, SE phones design nicely, but as always (in my opinion) forget the most important feature, USABILITY. Hope their R&D team aware of this situation and launch new model with (much) better usability.

Iv got this phone and i find it really great. it has got some feature issues, eg not enough memory, the fact that you cant change the housing, is a bit annoying if you like to change the look continuously. The screen is great, very clear. The camera could do with a bit of tweaking to get a clearer picture out of it. but appart from that its all good. The speed that it accesses the menus and features is great. iv not found the same speed on nokia etc except if you pay excess of 300 for the phone. The Joystick on the thing is fine, no problems there. I love the Music DJ, you can make some groovy tones. All over, it is great. V cheap with the quality and features that it has. recommended to all who want cheap and some features. Basic kit comes with AC adapter, neck strap, battery etc. no data cable. Need to download the software for the data cable to use it etc. recommended that a IR adapter be used instead, easier to setup and use.

It has amazing features, its picture quality and sound quality are very good. comparing to other phones and the crowd and noise levels at hyderabad, this phone works well even at the crowdy places like cafes, busstops. sir i had brought k 508i one month before there were some video files and mp3 files in the system at the time of purchase the company had uploaded at the time of purchase, when i had deleted those files 2 video and audio my memory status does not increased sinlge kb but these files carry a memory of almost 2.5 mb sir so plz tell me how can i rectify those memory which i had lost while deleting those 4 files......

with it's price, this phone is really good with many functions. I like the design more than K500. The sound quality is so nice and the picture quality is somewhat average. I just wish that it has more memory space or can use memory card. It's not enough to store more mp3 songs.

it has good sound, it also has good picture display, but ... the one i have, struggling with battery connector problem. This time i about to bring my K508i to SE Service Center, will be the 2nd times. Apliccation (themes) corrupt, playback failed, game won't start, loading picture (> 2 Mb)never quick ... the bads(s) overweight the good(s)

This is a gerat phone ! It has very many options, good polyfonics, good disply . There are some problems : memory is to low ( if you want mp3 ), and becuse of polifonics and camera the battery do not last more than a day (if u use it a lot) CONCLUSION : GREAT PHONE GREAT PRICE !

It is good.Radio head set is available that is good in this.It is better than k500i.But the memory sucks.some memory problems are also there.design is some wat gud.sony sud produce mobile that has the facility of using mmc cards like nokia.

don't buy this phone, because it's covers are roughly like, keypad buttons and front cover is roughly designed as buttons move a bit left right and front cover has very bad finishing, also it's shape is not so goood, my friendly advice is to get K500, that is award winning design phone, you can look its smoothness in pics, there is no difference b/w k5/k508 but only shape.

For its prise the phone is great. Its features are great. Its memory doesn't botter me coz i was not planning on useing it as a music player. For raj the after taking a photo the picture looks perthetic on the phone, but when its put on to a PC it has very nice quality for the pic size.

recently,i purchased this phone and i was fully impressed with its AMAGING feature.good resolution,terrific sound clarity and a good camera too.but,video recording is not so good but as far its price is concern its the amazing fn with good feature.i hv downloaded some video clips and its work very fine.regarding video it jst read Mpeg4 and 3gp files only.Regarding sound it doesnt support .WAV files.midi and mp3 is fully supported.the phn has some drawback.though being a mp3 player it has only 12MB fixed memory with no card slot.so,jst storing 2-3 songs only itEVEN DOESNT HAVE EARPHONE CONNECTION JACK IN THE FHONE."SE" SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY!!
