I bought this one long ago to substitute my good old nokia 6111. No doubt I missed the Nokia on the same day. Nothing to compare, otherwise this phone would be thrown to the first trash bin I could see. Although its design is good, it is much slower than my Nokia, and dumber also. I had to wait long time to dial a number, otherwise some of the digits would simply be missed. It lasted 4 months with me, until I was robbed. I just bought another SIM card and got my Nokia back. This was the worst phone I ever had.

I love the design very much. Small but solid and sturdy, good sliding mechanism. Apart from the many disabilities being complained, this small dear phone is for sure a basic phone or it can serve as second phone. I like small phones, I got a Motorola Flipout serves as my PDA (I didn't insert sim, so the battery lasts about a week, then for calling and texting I use Sony T303, the battery lasts about 5/6 days, so 1 got 2 small phones in a waist pouch). My comment is that we can find ways to make good of whatever we have and BE HAPPY and THANKFUL of what we have.

i am 13 years old and have had this phone since i was 10! it still works and i would say that it is bullet proff. i have droped it down the stairs several times but hasnt got a scrach!!!! although there is iphones, htcs and blackberrys i think it is amazing and i dont plan on getting rid of it any time soon! Great for a first time phone. the only downside is the non-expandible memory but i can still get 20 songs on easy!!!

I bought this phone on the boxing day for 70 dollars. It works better than my contract phone which is "worth" 200 dollars. It has strong signal reception, loud speakers, and it's neat looking. Nice looking phone but it fails in one important area. It does not work very well as a mobile phone! Reception is terrible. Unless you are very close to a base station it fails to get a signal. Go into a shop or any other enclosed space and you might as well be on the moon. A common message often appears stating "emergency calls only" when other handsets nearby are working perfectly.

i got this phone like last year and i've dropped it HEAPS and it never seems to be broken...but now it constantly freezes and the buttons don't really work. Also when i send messages it seems to take ages...the reception is poor sometimes...when i was in the mall car parks it had no reception at all.the battery isn't that good to,i have to charge my phone once every 2-3 days. Also i loose heaps of money because the 'live' button is on the right button and sometimes i accidentally press it:)

I can never get any reception with my phone and the buttons get stuck occasionally. I love the design though because it is very strong. I've dropped my phone a million times and it has never broken. Sometimes though, my message gets stuck on sending and I have to shut off the phone and it turns into a white screen. Sometimes it gets stuck on that white screen so I have to take out the battery. If you need a small phone NOW, get this phone. If you can afford to get a better one, get another model of the Ericsson's because other phones by Sony are great!

In general an okay phone, used mine for more than a year now and it has some small problems, but not terrible ones. Worst part is lack of video capabilities.

This was my first phone and i was really exited to get it. The lack of a video camera was dissapointing but because it was my first phone i didnt really mind. The biggest problem was the NON EXPANDING 8MB MEMORY. I could only hold 2 songs and a couple of games with that tiny memory. The phone didnt need a mp3 player because it could only hold a couple of songs. Having no video camera also ment it couldnt play videos. The internet browser was pretty decent and i could download themes and games with it. It also had blutooth which was good but not really needed for a phone with these little specifictions. Small and stylish mirrored screen phone the design was awesome. The metal finish on the back was cool as well. Design 9/10. Specifications 5/10. overall 5/10

I bought this phone and it keeps on freezing, then it flickers on and off. This is a boring phone and you get sick of having to type on the mini-size keypad. The load-speaker is so soft, The memory is limited to 4 songs, 2 songs actually if you have alot of pictures and applications. The radio on this phone hardly works depending on where you are situated.The internet don't work excellent. I'd say buy the cheapest phone ven if its black and white screen but not this. I'll never buy another Sony Ericson again!

I've had mine a year now, i did drop it once :S, but it worked fine that was about 6 months ago, now if i turn it off when i turn it on i have to leave it a while before attempting to go to the message centre or my contacts otherwise its just keeps loading and loading. Recently when i send a txt it pops up sending failed (making me believe i need to resend0 when it has in fact sent it three time and whilst recieving replies its easy to catch resend when it pops up - cost me 60p for one txt. The screen is really annoying its goes into standby very quickly, which with the mirror screen is very annoying, dont attempt to use it on any bright day as all you'll be able to see is a blank screen. Bought mine for £50 last year now worth about a £5 :/

I need the speaker on for any call - internal earpiece just too quiet. - When deleting messages, phone will often randomly do a reset and go through its (lengthy) start-up routine. This could be dangerous in a situation if you needed to make an emergency call. - In all other respects, the T303 is good, but these little niggles spoil the specification. Chris

Hi, I have a T303, and it took me a week to discover what is the erase button for SMS ("C" button that does not appear a button). This cel is crap but I use it because has been "Flexed" for me to let me use it when I am in other country. I someone stole my cel, it does not matter to much, jejeje

I ve been amazed and xtremely infatuated by seein its flashy outlook and its low price, but alas! I turnd out wrong!! I forgot the fact that "cheap goods" hardly becoms a quality and this product of SONY ERICSSON is not one of them. The set has innumerous of problem which if enlisted would take up a whole of a page!!! Buying this phone was a mistake of mine and now i am paying for it by taking it to mobile service centre in almost every week for its rise of constant malfunctioning problems!!! Poor Me

My Sony Ericsson T 303 handset is reall very troublesome!!! It has many problems and I have been extremely dissapointed by its performance!! Within its 1st month of purchase the problems that I have faced are listed below: 1) The key pad does not work properly. 2) Sets up alarm automatically and starts ringing. 3) Problems with the microphone. I see everyone dissing the phone (this one and many others) for having no memory, "holding one song only" etc. This is a CHEAP phone. It costs 20$ and it is not meant to be an mp3 player. Do not let the design fool you, it is a BASIC phone. It is meant to look pretty, call and send SMS. That is exactly what it does. You want an mp3, GPS, memory card? Than be prepared to cash out more than 20$. And RTFM before buying.

This T303 has no durability, just stylish outside. I bought it in January 31th, 2009 and it's already needed to go to its home in Sony Ericsson service center, to be cured in the middle of July, b'coz its diseases, such as "extremely hard-to push 5 ways (all) navigation key" disease, "often-needed to be restarted" disease, and "often-suddenly stopped in the middle of accessing my e-mail" disease. Now, after it's being "cured" from all its diseases, my T303 got to go home again!! B'coz of its universal plug in its body, which usually used for plugging in the charger, and the hands-free, got a problem. It's really difficult to recharge this T303's battery and more often, so difficult to use its hands-free. Is that these problems occur b'coz its cheap price? Oh, come on...I love this T303...

nice design, and metallic battery cover. SMS are not so easy to type, but sound is loud and clear. surfing internet with opera mini is very fast, loads whole pages very quickly. has RDS Fm radio, long lasting battery. in overall, very good and good choice for reasonable price.

Absolute Disappointment. I do not find a mirrored screen a feature at all but a disadvantage in daylight when trying to look at your screen! the Txting experience on this phone is horrible. The keypad is very cramped especially the first 3 buttons as you have to get use to txting on the tips of your thumbs to avoid the end of the slide screen. The clear and shortcut buttons are disappointing as you have to apply pressure on them. Apart from the tiny 8mb storage, the screen/keypad and the lack of definition, I do find the radio and battery life a plus. Overall 3/10.

My only complaints about this phone are that the loudspeaker is not so loud :), especially in a noisy environment, where u have to put the volume to max. to hear the other party, and the vibration motor is kinda weak. I am not a woman, so I don't really care :), but if you carry the phone in your ouside pocket, chances are u won't feel it vibrating and miss an important call. Otherwise, it is an excellent little phone, especially for it's price, and I will rate it 10 out of 10. Sony Ericsson rules!

T303 is an awesome, awesome phone! In my opinion, one of the best phones SE has EVER made (together with J300)! Very well assembled from high quality materials (brushed aluminum + scratch resistant glass), very small and covenient to carry in your pocket, the battery lasts for at least three days on normal use (making/receiving calls and SMS messages and listening to music), and has no problems with reception anywhere I go with it! What more would u want from a phone like this? And it only costed me $100! Of course, if u r looking for a ton of features like WiFi, 3G, and 20 megapixel camera, this is obviously not the phone for u. But if you are looking for a simple unexpensive phone just for calling and sending SMSs, I definitely recommend T303!

I was a big fan of Sony Ericsson but buying t303 was the worst decision i ever made.. its not just one thing that is wrong with this cell fone, first of all u cant see anything in sunlight seriously u have to go into a place with some shadow. secondly i unpacked it and it started freezing,msg were not coming or being delivered from my side when i restarted it everyone was like that they got my txt like 20 tyme.. and yeah it was not due to the network.. my network works great in NOKIA.. well thn its edges started to crack and i noticed that i had never ever dropped this set, that was a shame quality by sony, secondly the memory like are u serious :S 8mb u can even fix a single mp3 to that size, the call connection tyme and the noise there is in calls this cellphone is a serious wastage of money and tyme and ur temperament seriously.. i will never ever buy a sony ericsson in my life again, i think Nokia works great and works just fyne.. i got it because it was cheap and needed a uk phone as my german one blocked. a waste of money, i shouldve bought a more expensive one. bluetooth rubbish, hard to text as the keys are so small. i have had other cheap phones and they have been better. looks pretty though...and light...i still like Sony Ericcson though as all their other phones are great!

Bought a T303 sometime ago. Reception is useless. Other phones on same network are ok not brilliant, but the T303 cannot find any network for miles around. O2 won't do anything about it so we are stuck for paying (contract) for nothing!

i sold mine at a very low price just to get rid of it. it okay around two months, then the d-pad malfunctioned. i tried having it repaired at a sony ericsson shop, but they don't have replacement parts for it, and they didn't know when they'll have them. it also froze on me several times.

this phone is the worst I've ever had. The battery life is awful. The phone powers off in your pocket, sometimes reboot, sometimes you don't hear anything till other person answer, anytime you answer it takes 2-3 seconds for the other people to hear you! Incompatibility certainly sucks!:) Why not 3.5mm audio jack and micro USB? And what's the point of radio recording if you cannot transfer it anywhere else to edit and play? I'm not having some major problems with my t303 so far (flickering etc only when changing pict size). Not pushing it to the limits with settings and memory suppose to do some good. Updating software also shouldn't harm.

Hi All, Has anyone experienced the display going off completely. I have one and I was trying to enter my old contacts into it and all of a sudden the display went off and doesn't come up. I think the back bit with all the flowers and stuff is very pretty. And I like the fact that the phone is small. But it always freezes and like any other Sony Ericsson, it freezes a lot which is kind of annoying. But I think the most annoying thing is the memory, I have one song on it and about a dozen pictures and the memory's full.

Ok thanks very much for your help :) I have read most of the opinions of the phone and I can see some people have problems with it...but perhaps it's the same with any phone? I have a Motorola U9...the media player broke so I have to keep it on vibrate cos I have no ringtone, the phone freezes and I have to take the battery out to get it working again, and sometimes I call people and theres no ringing and when I am connected I hear nothing, it's the same when people ring me. I just want a working phone with a good ringtone...thats all I ask and this phone looks great too...but I will be thinking about your experience.

before you buy this phone, let me tell you about my experience, i got the t303 last november 2008. after 3 months, i experience the following problems: - the phone often hung up/freezes; - the d-pad's right portion stopped working, very frustrating when writing sms or going through icons. i took the phone to an se shop and i was told they do not have the part in stock, and they were not sure when it will be available. in my frustration, i got another se phone, the w302, and it has its own issues, but that is another story...

I really want to buy this phone...I'm not fussy about features etc...but I do hope that someone can help me out here with a couple of things that I really want in a phone: 1. I really want an MP3 ringtone...not bothered about uploading loads...so will this phone definately fit at least one MP3 track to add as ringtone? 2. I'm not bothered about taking photos on the phone but I do have a couple already taken on my computer to use as a wallpaper...will the memory allow 4/5 photos to be transferred to the phone and kept on there for a wallpaper?? Just brought this phone. Good looking features especially the mirroe considering the price of it. Unfortunately no external memory which made it a big disadvantage and its pretty slow. Camera not very good either, dull photos. Also can't catch much network with it, keeps going off. Recommend to those who just want to use it for texting and calling and have the patience to keep resending texts.

GAWD... This mobile sucks big time! It's a low-end phone and i think it should be crated another classification noum for this type of phone (junk-end phone perhaps?) Bought one in 2009 for �84,00, sold it a couple of weeks later and bought a w300i only for �69,00 and it's much better, by far! Love SE but T303 has no logic... no card slot, and 1.3 MP camera when the phone only has 8MB internal? and the performance? slow slow slow... jesus... The only thing nice about this phone is the design and the fact that the back cover is made of steel, the rest just sucks. Avoid at ALL cost! :|

My old w810i finally packed in after 3 years. Yeah the mp3 player was great (I had a 2gb stick) but all I really used it for was Calls/Texts/Alarm. Just bought the t303 at the weekend for �22.00 on PAYG (�40 less the �18 I got for my knackerd one) and I have a sealed simcard with �10 credit to sell on (I'm on contract but turned down 2 upgrades to reduce my tariff from �45 to �15 a month) Yeah its not a great phone but it does the job and I cant abide these all singing all dancing models that are like a brick in your pocket. Reception and Volume (ringing and in call) aren't great, Keypads a little small (the cancel button especially is awkward for texting). Other than that good little phone. If you want a camera fone don't bother with this ... it sux.

I am looking for a small phone , but after checking this one I wondered what made SE to deliver such poor device . Its nice , small , handy , schik but : 1 - poor ringing volume 2 - very poor speakerphone volume 3 - no phone numbers on sim and phone simultaniously 4 - mp3 option with 8 mb and no card slot ? 5 - mp3 rings limited to 150 kb file 6 - what is the use of recording from radio if you have only 8 mb (max) storage ? Even for low end device it does not make sence . I assume that if they upgrade the first 3 major failures , even removing the poor camera , they could make better sales for basic phone users who does not look after useless characteristics .

I have one in pink and I absolutely love the finish. The size is so cute, just fits in the smallest of purses. A phone suitable for anyone who didn't do much with their phones, aside from call and SMS. But it does come with a decent 1.3mp camera too!!

The buttons are too small and your fingers just slide off them. The sound is laughable,The usage is terrible,Storage none exsistance, Ericsson way of making up for cheapness is getting you to buy a S/D card that crashes all the time. I wouldn't give this phone to my child in case he doesn't break it.

As a phone , great size , I can put in some mp3 ringtones . I would have considered it enough for me but it's very low volume speakerphone ,made me drop it off . Lack of ext card made the camera almost unusable , but I would not use it's camera anyway .

@Noel, I got my unit from a Sony Ericsson Concept Shop, so i know it's original. I'm also very careful with my gadgets so the issues are with the phone, not my handling of it. Yes, it freezes once in while. Another problem that came up, when writing sms, the right/forward side of the d-pad does not work all the time, i have to press it twice or harder to make space or move from one character to another (i find the space button at the bottom of the phone is hard to reach when writing sms.) Being an SE fan, i would still buy their phones, but from now on, i will stick to higher end models.

@Noel Yes, you can use mp3s as message alert tones. You can even assign a different message alert tone for each person. I'm currently using a T303, but considering getting another phone, the 8MB memory is simply not enough for me. Also, the phone's signal flactuates, when i'm home many times i cannot send messages when i'm downstairs (i can receive them though). My mom's Nokia 3510i has no such problems, considering it is such an old phone. And, the unit hangs up/freezes once in a while.

@Anonymous: To toggle T9, while composing an SMS press and hold asterisk (*). You can also go into options->writing_options->options and then either Dictionary, New word predict., or Word suggest., depending on what feature you want to have or disable. I've had the phone for less than a day, but I'm mostly pleased with it. If you search around on the Internet, you'll find that people either love or hate it. It does most of what I want, in a small, stylish form. I wanted four things: 1) T9 for lots of languages, 2) Russian Cyrillic text, 3) radio, and 4) bluetooth. T9: In my area, the more expensive Sony Ericsson G502 only had T9 for English and Russian, but the little T303 had T9 for Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian, in addition to English and Russian. Cyrillic in SMS: Check. Radio: My previous phone was the Sony Ericsson K750i, and I almost didn't buy another Sony Ericsson, because the radio interface on the K750i was poorly designed (and also the joystick control kept freezing up.) While the K750i's controls for the radio when minimized were a bit awkward, the T303 has no control of the radio whatsoever outside the radio application. You can minimize the radio, but then you are stuck with the volume and station you had in the radio application. Likewise, you can't adjust the radio when the phone is keylocked, like when you "unslide" it. Finally, the maximum volume is weak. You're not going to hurt your hearing, except maybe on the annoying "pop" when starting the radio. Bass seems weak with the supplied headphones, and the proprietary connector makes it difficult/expensive to try other headphones. Bluetooth: Check. Other features... MP3: It would have been nice to have MP3's, but the memory of 8MB and no memory card slot kill that idea. MP3's were a battery killer on my old K750i, so maybe it's just as well. Screen: It's actually a functional mirror(?!) It's fine for reading SMS messages inside, but outside, it's a real challenge to see. Buttons: I hate the "back" key (the thin key at right). The "options" key (thin key at left) is not a problem, because my thumbnail is at a diagonal when stretching over to it. And there are no dedicated radio control keys. To summarize... It's basically just a phone with radio, but it manages to be very small and inexpensive, which is a rare combination.

Hi, you can adjust the volume on the headset by pressing the "UP" key on the 4-way controller when talking to someone. In other words, while a call is ongoing, press the "UP" key on the controller. To reduce the call volume, use the"DOWN" key.

It's a feature basic phone guys. Don't expect to buy a 4cyl hatchback and get supercar performance. For the size, it has what any girl needs to get by. The screen is also a mirror which is neat.

Since then i've given theh phone to my brother and bought a samsung i560v that's just great!!! i wont ever make the mistake again just to go after the looks of the phone

you need to make sure that particular theme is compatible with your phone. If not, its because the phone's screen isnt designed to take pictures of that size. Hope that helps.

i got this phone as a replacement when mine got stolen about 4 months ago. I had the oppurtunity to replace it...but i love it too much! sleek, small and does what its meant to do. Got an iPod for all the music and have a digital camera for piccies. Im keeping this for the fact that it recieves calls, makes calls, sends and recieves texts and has a great overall look to it.

Returned the phone within an hour of buying it. It is quite difficult to use the number keys for texting. the 'c' button and the menu button are touch sensitive but it requires more pressure than a single touch. there for one needs to press it hard to cancel a letter or word or number. no default number setting for a person. The screen in quite small and uncomfortable. Need to reset the time and date once the phone is switched off. I am not happy with it. But worth for its price though. but people tend to expect more.

Personally, I only use my phone to call and send messages, so I don't see why I should buy a fancy touchscreen, with I don't know how many MP camera cell-phone. I take photos using a digital camera. And remember that no matter what camera the phone has got, I can't make better photos than a digital camera.

Well I have this phone (fantastic I might add) and my best mate sent me a theme to use, howevever you can only use the themes that come with the phone because of the screen size. Any other themes just won't work on the phone, I'm afraid. But I'm currently using the "silver charm" theme and like it very much! Hope this has helped you!

You don't use high fidelity headphones that offer a high degree of faithfulness to the original source, are you? It would be awkward using those bulky hi-fi headphones like those used in studios with your cheap T303, isn't it? Do you mind people laughing at you roaming around with those bulky hi-fi headphones with your cheap T303? Decent head phones or earphones, whatever you call it are those bundled with phones that are appropriate... they don't offer faithfulness to the theoretical audible audio spectrum of 20Hz~20Khz. And since your ears are not totally isolated to the surrounding with bulky pads as in studio headphones... you will have those ambient noise leaking into your ears, so what's the use of uploading MP3s with high bit rates to your phone when you won't fully appreciate it due to the factors explained above? It would be a waste of meager T303 on-board memory. Is it clear now?

Katy, sure enough, your T303 memory will be full with a song or so... that is if the bit rate of your MP3 is 320kbps or more. At these bit rates, you'll have large to very large file sizes exceeding 6MB, depending on the length of the song. These bit rates can not be faithfully reproduced by any phone built-in speakers or even a decent headphone. So... having these bit rates uploaded to any phone is a waste of memory or useless altogether. What you should do is reduce the bit rate of your MP3 to say, 96kbps or less... those bit rates will give you around 1MB or less file sizes... meaning, you can upload more songs to your meager T303 memory. These low bit rates is ideal to match the very bad fidelity of phone built-in speakers or even a decent headphone. Try it Katy, I'm sure, you will love your T303 again.

I've never written a review before, but I honestly felt so compelled by this phone that I'm doing it for the first time. I bought my phone in a T-Mobile shop, as I'd had a K750 and a K800 before, and I was assured it was a similar feature set. It's not the same software on on the k750 and the k800s though - it's a stripped down operating system designed to look like the higher end phones. I think it's probably different from the bottom up, because it's about as stable as Paula Yates. I was hoping to connect to my laptop with Bluetooth and browse the internet using Web & Walk, but it doesn't act as a Bluetooth modem - in fact, there are no bluetooth services at all available on my laptop, no file transfer or anything. Which isn't really that much of a loss, as you can only take four pictures before the internal memory is full anyway. The T-Mobile branded firmware on mine doesn't leave enough memory to compose a picture message either (fails every time you try, even after a hard reset), and it usually lasts about 14 days before it can't open your contact list and requires a hard reset anyway, so it's not like you'd be able to keep your pictures or get them off anyway. Hopefully you've got slow fingers, because the T9 seems to work at about 5 characters a second, which decreases the further ahead of the dictionary you get. It's got no secondary memory battery, so take the battery off and you'll be resetting the time and date - a bit like a Nokia 3310, only the 3310 was released eight years ago (is that all?). There isn't too much more to go wrong with this phone, which is a good job really, because if it could, it would. My advice would be to buy a K750 instead, or even a k800 if you can find one for the same price - these are both old now, the k800 is probably going to be free just about anywhere you can buy it, and the k750 is just a paperweight these days, but they are streets ahead of this phone in terms of features, reliability, stability, and even battery life in my experience. The build quality is okay, but this new operating system on the low end Sony Ericssons is probably the most frustrating piece of software you'll ever have to deal with. Honestly, I'd rather spend my time trying to set the clock on a VCR without the remote than using this thing. About a month after I bought this phone my missus (against my best advice) bought their new red clamshell one from Carphone Warehouse (running the same low-end crippleware) and even she hates hers because it keeps crashing and hanging on her, and she's a technological retard, so if she can see the problems it must be serious. Right, I'm all done now, but if this review stops one person from buying one of these new low-end SEs then it'll be worth it. The operating systems look pretty different, so you should be able to tell the difference with a bit of a play, and avoid whatever this new one is, because it'll just turn you resentful person well before your years.

I was looking for a decent phone with basic features. I bought my T303 about a month ago and i'm very happy with it. It really has a long battery life, with the vibration on - I forget when I last charged it. It is loud and the speaker is clear. Plus it looks great and is lovely to handle - a true eye-catcher! It has all the basic/necessary features: alarm clock (several in fact), notes, calendar. Downside is sadly the screen. - screen is small and its resolution is low. With a better screen using this phone could have been a much more enjoyable experience. - It is nearly impossible to read what's on the screen in direct sunlight because of the mirror-effect! real inconvenience. Maybe the black version does not have this problem (i have the pink girlie one :) ). To answer you Anonymous... no, it does not beep until the message is read.

This fone is so stupid! I thought it might be a decent fone. It has so many missing features that they dont tell you about. It has no such thing as videos+it has 8mb of internal memory and no micro sd card slot(Who made this fone??!!). The funny thing about it does not tell you on the box that it has 8mb of memory but it tells you it has a mp3 player(Don't most mp3 players hold more than 3 songs in their memory??!!). I think my old 2-year fone has more features than this one. Any who wants to buy a new fone should study on it to make sure the fone you are buying does not end up to be a budgo!!

Having Purchased this phone as a replacement handset while my Blackberry is off getting fixed, I felt compelled to right to get my two cents worth in. Do NOT be under any delusion that this mobile is for media purposes! People complaining about it wont hold mp3, etc... Its not designed too. The mp3 player on it is part of the software to be used for playing sound clips. If you really want a part of your favorite current song, Download the mp3 and cut the part of the track you want using audacity or similar software.... If you enjoy listening to full mp3 tracks on your mobile (generally on buses) this is not the Phone for you! As for the camera. 1.3 mega pixel aint bad for a phone this size. Some people have said it should have at least 2mp. If you had a 2mp camera you would only be able to take 1 picture and then run out of memory! As a mobile to Talk and Text this is Perfect for me. Im used to having Email etc on blackberry but this is a welcome relief for a few days. I rate this phone extremely highly. In the past i have bought small phones, Siemens SL55, SL65 etc... and in comparison this is fantastic!

So yes, T303 is cool ONLY cause it's so small, but that's what I was aiming for when buying it... I love this phone, and am going to tell you why. But first, a word about specifications: Some people have bought this phone assuming that because it is newly-released it will (or should) have certain features, then reviewed and slated the phone because they are disappointed. Sorry to state the obvious to some of you, but you've got to read the spec before buying. If you want an all-singing, all dancing handset, you'll know this one isn't (and neither is it meant to be) before you spend your money. So why do I like the phone? It suits my requirements really well. It is good for the things I need it to do with no unnecessary frills... Slider: This feels robust, unlike some Samsung models I've owned that were supposed to be premium fashion phones but felt really flimsy and plasticky. Texting/keypad: I'm a busy person and have sent many texts in a rush, but have never felt particularly slowed down by the keypad/software on this - well no more than other phones, certainly: I owned a Motorola V9 that was no faster/smarter than this for texting, and the V3 was slower. Calling: It does the job. Nice clear calls, ringer/speaker go loud enough for me. Never any problems. The same cannot be said for the aforementioned Samsungs (to give an example) that rounded raspy and very harsh - almost painful to the ear when turned up to hear in noisy environments! Size: It's pocket-friendly and pleasant to look at. Not too small for me, just conveniently dinky. I have quite slim fingertips however, and if you are someone with larger hands or wider fingertips you might find it a little cramped. Memory: I have an IPod that I'm happy with, so apart from the odd downloaded ringtone I don't need or want to pay out the money for more. If you want to use your mobile as an mp3 player, cross this one off your list and don't buy it. Simple. Camera: If you're on a night out (or any other occasion) and feel like sending a few piccies for a laugh, this 1.3mp snapper is fine. I'm happy with my digital camera so again, I don't need more. This will do black and white or sepia to make the pic slightly more interesting. If you want a built-in advanced camera you won't be buying this anyway, will you? Menu system/interface: I find this gloriously simple and free from unwanted, unnecessary menu items to trawl through. I think this because I need literally a telephone to call and text people. If you get to the stage of buying this phone, presumably you have similar needs. The icons are clear, it's not lightning-fast at displaying pictures, but let's face it, most people wouldn't propose to have this as their main or only digital camera. If I wanted anything more whizz-bang, I'd be paying more than �40! Overall a lovely little phone for people looking for a basic-functioning handset. Everyone else has probably stopped reading by now.

the only quarm i have is that they put an mp3 player on there, because it has such little internal memory and no expandable. But you can't go moaning it doesn't offer obscure features such as 3G, wifi etc. Thats just ridiculous, the phone costs �40!!! Every phone can't have every feature. And if it did then youre paying for it. If you want 3G, seek an alternative sony ericsson, there's plenty of them out there.

Hello. This phone is purely a functional phone, so I'd like to know how it performs functionally please (music is unimportant, storage negligible, camera forgettable etc). 1. I love this phones form. Its pretty ordinary in the features dept. but I could not resist buying one as an extra. I bought a Nokia N95 8GB, and it was waaaaaay to big for me. So then i got a Sony W910i. It was good and great for use as a wireless modem with my laptop. But this t303 is so small and made of metal, its buttons are much nicer than my N95's, as in they press well and its cheap enough to actually use without worry. It reminds me of the Nokia 6100, the nicest phone shape ever in my opinion.

I have recently purchased this phone. I love the look of this model but can anyone tell me if they are having problems with the volume and trying to play the ring tones? T303 has just one negative thing anda that is memory. It's other features are ok. But if u using cell phone for calling and SMS sending than it is great, camera is also good. So for keeping some pictures and ringtones is super. If you whant listen music buy MP3 player, cell phone is for thalking, and sending SMS (or MMS), not for entertaiment

This phone got a mirrored display. The display are barely seen in outdoor or even useless in direct sunlight. I feel not comfortable writing sms or just playing java game when your face shading at screen display. What a foolish the manufacturer add a mirror screen to this model. Don't buy this phone! I feel regret buying on-line as i did'nt expect this problems - Will sell the phone sooner.

I work in a Vodafone store & Ive found the T303 an average handset. The appearance is nice but the only downside to this the camera is only 1.3mp its shouldve been a 2mp but other than that its a good handset.

It means that the phone has more languages installed, other than the original Swedish, Finnish, Norwegianm, Danish and English. However, SonyEricsson has of recently mostly REMOVED the "i" at the end of the products name due to the fact that alot of people were confused. Some even thought that the "i" meant "improved" :)

I hope Sony Ericsson will come up with a T303i (An improved version). This phone has great design, but functionality-wise, it's rubbish. Equip it with a bigger & clearer display, a 2MP camera and a Card slot and it will be the perfect phone for me.

Need alternatives, plz! This SE T303 is about what I need because I am used to small models (Motorola v3688, Siemens SL55). So far I only found Nokia 2760 (87x44.8x20.7mm, 80.4g) which is too old (VGA, dualband only). Many flip, slider and bar type models are too large (~100mm). Any suggestions? THX a lot!

this phone is not the type that i like. its nice and small but other than that it is rubbish. the screen is not bright enough. if you text to quick then it just all slows down. i understand why its so cheap. i would recommend it for other 60s because they will not mind about the camara been so bad. the camara is only 1.3 mega pixel. i find that really bad. this is not a phone you will want to listen to music on because you can only fit one long song on it. but thankyou anyway phones 4 you. xx

Horrible - it's nice and small, but I've never tried as laggy a user interface as this. I'm writing a text message rigth now and I'm on the verge of giving up because of the 4 sec delay when the message gets a bit long!! The screen is low res and pretty ugly - it's looks old fashioned. Other than this it's ok. I'm getting rid of it now before it makes me insane :)

I got one for free and I'm lovin' it. Nice design and very good build quality. Ok, it only has 8MB of memory, but that's enough to keep some short MP3 ringtones or to shoot some pictures (they are only around 130KB). It replaces my (really bad) Nokia 2626 I got from work and it fits well with my P1i wich has a similar brushed metal look. It has a small screen with a low resolution of 160x128, but that improves the battery life. pos: - design - build quality - battery life neg: - only 8MB, No mem card expansion. - 160x128 screen If you want a nice looking and well built budget phone, and you don't care about playing MP3 or taking (nice) pictures, then this is one to look out for.

Just bought T303 a couple of hours ago and I must save it is an impressive phone. The phone is cute and nice to handle and speaker is loud. But at first start, OS seems to be laggy but after a while it became normal. Draw back is small screen and memory slot. Above all its a great phone for those who want a budget phone that looks cool. And lastly, my initial memory is 8.7 MB :P

Its a gorgeous little phone but there are a few little things sony ericsson could have done. Like in predictive texting it could have been able to remember commencing words to save time, as for a new phone it should be able to do that. You cannot put ring tones on it, so you are limited for setting text and ring tones. no memory card is no big deal. Beautiful design. Mine is going back because it doesn't have up to date specifications

Not to bad. Its a good phone for budget minded phone users. For its price u should not ask too much. At least SE has taught of putting mp3, bluetooth and a camera. They try to put the most they could into the phone so for those people who can't afford mid-high end phone could have those essential functions that are needed for day-to-day use such as bluetooth for transfering office documents that u want to transfer to another person quickly without the need of a computer. I know the mp3 is pointless but if u look at it in another prospective then u will understand. At least with the 8MB of internal memory u can listen to ur favorite single track. For the camera i know its crap but u must also understand that budget phones are to get the most out of money by giving u alot of functions although they are not the best. So for the camera the image may not look so good but at least u can see something rather than having no camera at all.

Finally, a small phone that is stylish and can fit in my pocket again. I love the fact that someone at Sony Ericsson has thought about the people who don't want all the star trek gadgets that turn it into a house brick size phone. I travel a bit and love that I can now use a durable, small and pocket size phone that I only really make calls, text messages and bluetooth with a car for hands free driving with. What's more, if I needed to snap a quick picture, I also have that flexibility. Great job guys, love your work!

so i've read a lot of posts where people have been saying they don't understand this phone, or that SE "failed...can do better, etc..." honestly, this phone was specifically made for its design. i mean, look at it. it's made out of metal material, mirror finish, chrome...all that. and it's supposed to be cheap. so that sounds pretty nice to me. someone did make a good point though: there's only 8MB of memory, but it features MP3 storage. soooo...it kind of doesn't make sense in that area (this is going along the fact that this phone features no external memory slot). but whatever...it's nice to FINALLY see a phone that is cheap, actually will work and can provide some decent entertainment. AND is made out of GOOD material. if you don't like the phone, don't buy it.

This phone should have been released earlier than it is as Nokia an Samsung have released to mobiles that will out sell this mobile the 5300 an D500 or D600 so Sony Ericsson will have to release this mobile as a very cheap price to be a good seller or a waste of time

its a good low end phone but the only thing missing is a card slot. other features are good it looks good for low end phone. they will soon come up with a little higher model with card slot..

This phone is a low ender (hence the first # is 3 in the model number). Evidently, features are pretty low if it's catered for the low-end market. This phone remmeber is supposed to be only positioned on par/a little above the last T series annoucement, the T270 and T280. For a budget phone, this is pretty good as it has the looks/materials (reflective display with metail accents) and it seems to use a stripped down version of A200 platform (platform used by mid-high end phones now).

The phone looks attractive but the features are lacking in the storage department. I wonder how much a memory card slot, or even larger internal memory affects the cost of a phone. Give this phone 80MB internal memory and it becomes a more attractive phone.
