Had this phone from year 2012 till now in 2019. The best phone i ever had, sadly need to replace it now after all these years. The QWERTY is amazing, texted drunk without a single mistake for years during collegue, main camera is fine for taking ok pics. Sadly the low amount of RAM means now you can only have one app - i used Viber only. You can use it in a single hand, texting on the QWERTY is a thing of beauty. Served me for years - wish they did a remake with a stronger hardware.

I bought this phone in 2014 for approx $150. Now in Oct 2017, the price has not dropped much. You know why? It's an absolutely great phone -- for those who just talk and text and take amateur pictures. Contrary to what marketing strategies would have you believe, the majority of the population still does not need to carry around powerful phablets. Six years after it's release, the Sony Xperia Pro is still a perfectly good basic phone. If you are going to use a lot of apps, look elsewhere as you will have problems with this phone. I have streamed music and used facebook and check email and google maps occasionally. But many newer apps will require a more up-to-date version of android. Aside from the price, the main reasons I bought this phone and still use this phone is the tactile keyboard and the call quality. I have access to my laptop all day long with wi-fi. So I was not looking for a phone for which I would need a data plan. Compared to today's powerful phones, the battery life is amazing especially if you do not use a lot of data. Moreover, the battery is removable/replaceable which is a feature that is getting harder to find in new phones. The Sony Xperia Pro accepts memory SD cards in order for you to have more storage than the tiny amount the phone comes with. Friends who have spent over $500 for their phones complain that they cannot hear their calls well. For me, my Sony Xperia Pro is crystal clear 95% of the time. There have been just a couple of people who call me who never come through clear so it must be because of their phone. With a tactile keyboard, I type texts faster. However, the Sony Xperia Pro gives you the option of touch-screen typing if you really prefer that. For some reason, texting/emailing mistyped words is becoming more and more acceptable. But if you find it annoying, then you would probably prefer a tactile keyboard. I love the word prediction that suggests words for you to tap on rather than you having to completely type out long words. It remembers words that you have typed before. The rear camera has a flash and is just fine for non-professionals. It has geotagging, exposure adjustments, focus modes, and a resolution of 8MP is more than enough to get decent 4x6 prints. The front camera (no flash) is not much to speak of. Unlike most of today's newer phones, the size of the Sony Xperia Pro is small enough for a woman to use with one hand, and it fits easily in most pockets. I've dropped it many times, including on pavement, and somehow it's never broken; the screen has never cracked. I hope this review helps someone. I've been highly satisfied. I can recommend this phone especially if you are not used to touch-screen texting or want to type more accurately, and if you are looking for a good basic phone to actually call people, to play your music or listen to FM radio, and to take decent pictures.

Bought this phone some years ago, at first it was a dream, everything worked fine, could play some nice games, even did some programming on it... ...but everything change when the updates attacked. Suddenly there was not enough RAM anymore to run my apps, my wifi also broke, to the point I can be sitting right beside the Router and it simply won't work. Checked online for the update manager, maybe there was a fix, or I could do a downgrade, failed, Sony Ericsson's software doesn't support my model anymore, what a disappointment.

Best phone ever, Love it. Using LegacyXperia CM13, the phone is DEAD slow, but works without a charm, and no hardware issues whatsoever. Love Sony, my next one will be a Sony too. (BTW LegacyXperia cm10 is very fast)

I bought mine in January 2012 and used it since. Thanks to Android 4.0 update it works well enough to this day and never let me down when I lived abroad and travelled in multiple countries. Its storage capacity for apps etc. was always a problem, sometimes a minor one and the other times a frustrating handicap. Now that I'm packing my backpacks again I've upgraded to VKWorld T2 which seems fine with its numpad but I know I'm going to miss the full keyboard and this overall excellent device.

Okay. so much to say about this phone. where to start. it's 2015 and i needed a really good little phone with a qwerty pad, so i got this one. was hard to decide between samsung captivate glide i927 or this. knew it was from 2011. my computer is older then this thing. ho hum. i got it. now i come to find out, there's two versions of this phone. an mk16a and an mk16i. was on endgadget.com and noticed in the specs read out, i basically got the mk16i (international version....omg did i make a mistake!!!!!! question. anyone...can this phone work with american carriers? second, im so upset how i keep finding all this upgrade ice cream sandwich os for the xperia play and the x10 mini and the mini version of this phone. i know it's 4 years later but wow, i'd like to atleast get the android 4.0 os that was said to be "planned" for this device. bu lo it's 4 years too late maybe....so long wanted apps. if i can't use this phone for american carriers, im just gonna have to swap it in for another one, maybe the lg optimus f3q, or the samsung.....sigh if anyone knows about the us vs international phone service use, please reply. and all that being said, this is a super awsome little phone. so far.

Seriously, does any body know how to increase its internal memory ? It is hands down one of the best phones I have seen. I had this phone since 2012, for more than 3.5 yrs God knows how many times it has fallen down (100+), but still the phone is intact. Applications still run smoth as butter (although can't install bigger game apps because of low internal memory- 512 mb). My friends and colleagues meanwhile has purchased and thrown Moto's, Iphone's etc several times within these years because of non-performance after the initial few months. But, this phone is still going strong ! I just hope somebody finds a way to increase the RAM in this device otherwise I too, will have to buy a new phone soon (which I don't wanna do 'cause I love this one !!)

The best physical qwerty keyboard phone ever , hands down. Good camera for pictures, great loudspeaker for music , big screen for videos , my phone for years in a row. Put a 32Gb Class 10 MicroSD card in it, update it to Lolipop thru XDA developers and enjoy the best qwerty phone out there till this day.

I think this is a nifty trick to open a hard-to-open cover of Xperia pro 1.There is a cover for HDMI port,open it with your long fingernails or a stick. 2.There's a "fingernail crease" in the HDMI port when the port is open,place your fingernail on the "crease" and pull it up real good and your cover is open. HOPE IT HELPED!

ive had it since 2012, so yeah long time first time i got it, i was in heaven... my old phone was a V360 by motorola, flip fone... tho i did have a k800i for a while, but that broke... this was my first SMART phone, it was cool... and i loved the keyboard - my fav part of the fone cause they dont make any more keyboard fones :( i get to watch pron before i sleep, youtube ETC! it's not the greatest smart fone, it's what i call a "budget smart fone" ... retail value of $200 back then the only reason i wanna upgrade is cause the hardware isnt that great, weak CPU... doesnt load the fastest at certain things, web browsing isnt the best... etc. so i wouldnt mind sacrificing the keyboard for a faster stronger powerful fone, with a bigger screeen S5 i think i want

Best phone I've had so far, still using it in 2015. It works flawlessly and battery can sometimes last for 5+ days. This thing is indestructible. Dropped it over 50 times, a few times it fell on concrete from over 2m (launched it into the air when attempting to pull it out of the pocket fast :D). It has so many scratches and the case broke at few spots but everything is still working normally.

LegacyXperia made it really useful with 4.4.4! BT A2DP, even 720p recording at 30fps (29.99 vbr), everyting is working exept FM Radio. I just can't find the way to replace long press key letter (I need Đ đ, but it offers me Ď ď). As predictable keyboard only works with stock ROM, if you don't want to change your habit to long press particular key for additional special letters, find out modded stock and flash appropritate zip with your familiar layout.

On stock ICS kernel and rooted, the best rom seems to be ultima hd. Not laggy, quite fast, developper did work 100s of hours on it. Now I can get the bootloadr unlocked, am checking in to best kk rom... but since it's an oldr phone, roms seem not as polished since less of a crowd on it ... looks like carbon is the way to go by what I read. This phone is quite good: bought it for the keyb, dropped it many times, on asphalt face on, etc, screen just has few scratches. A very good buy imo.

I've had this phone for a while now, and have had various operating systems, and other then a few small problems, it's fantastic. I had a problem with the light sensor auto-brightness, but my recent software upgrade to cyanogenmod 10.2 resolved the problem. Finding the right info to root and flash this phone was a somewhat long task, but in the end, it's a pretty simple process - install sony mobile flashtool. Find a rom you, like that includes a custom recovery, as a zip. Find the keymap that you need, and find the right version of gapps for the rom you want to install, if you want the google play store. Extract the rom, copy all the zip files, including the rom, to the SD card. Use flashtool to unlock bootloader and then use it to root. Boot into fastboot mode by holding menu and plugging in (blue light) flash the boot.img that you extracted earlier, reboot phone and enter recovery by pressing the volume rocker. Install update from SD card, and install each of the zip files you moved there earlier, go back to the main recovery menu, wipe the cache and data, and reboot. After figuring out how to do it, and tweaking things exactly how I like them, I'm thrilled with it. It runs JB like a champ, has plenty of space for everything I want to put on it, which is a ton of games, now that they can be moved completely off internal storage. The camera leaves a little to be desired, but I haven't really tried it with the new software, so I have hope yet. The keyboard is sturdy, and doesn't feel at all cheap, the button press is a bit on the hard side, but the button relief feels nice, the keys are well-spaced, and the keyboard light is nice and bright, and in some cases, adjustable. The front buttons could do without the back light, which is far too bright, but there is a mod which shuts this off. The notification LED is changeable, and you can set custom colors for it, which is pretty slick. It's an OK phone on the stock software, but it's a great phone on custom stuff, and it looks really nice, fits nicely in the hands, even with the keyboard out, it just feels nice. Bit hard to find protector cases for it, and no real good ones. Some people have problems using their phone when it's plugged in, but I have yet to experience that, and my phone is plugged in most of the time. Battery life could be better, but with root and an auto-hibernation program, it can be extended significantly. Since they can now be purchased new for around $170 US, a great phone for the price. I'm happy with it.

ICS (4.0.4) with b567 kernel is laggy, infact a lot laggy, stay with gingerbread(2.3) or if you are out of warranty( mostly would be ;) ) root it and use kitkat or jelly bean smoother and faster, but be aware camera wont be that good as in stock gb or ics. I prefer personally carbonROM, you can find on xdadevelopers.com with legacy xperia kernel, cynogen mod basically. camera is way better than what other custom ROMs provide. macro mode is awesome, better than stock camera. rest is a bit downgrade but livable with.

WIth Xperia pro I have very bad experience. I gave this mobile 3 times to service center and they told its ok but every time I found problem in talking somebody over mobile. Its disconnection within minute or half minute. I can't talk continuously. Service center person is not repairing fully as per my satisfaction.

Root your Pro, they buy ROM Toolbox Pro and use its Move To SD feature... Also, with it you can convert into system app the apps that need to stay in the internal (widgets,etc) That way you free up more storage without breaking any functionality of the app. But, some apps may disappear when trying to move to the internal by converting it into system app. In that case reinstall and try again when the app is not linked to any configuration. This works. The system partition has some 230MB of available storage. Use it. Only if you can't buy, you can go with the free solution: Link2SD. But ROM Toolbox is the best root app for tweaking and servicing in Android. Don't get a copy illegally. Don't steal. Would you like your father to be robbed? By the developers work. - L

I know CM ROMs. They are good, but my help offering was for stock GB because I don't think an average user would need to flash a custom ROM to get a satisfactory experience. And the only somehow valuable feature lacking in GB is the multitasking/switch apps method introduced since ICS. Can you name at least 3 features from the many you alleged? Also, please share the link to the exact ROM you're using and having a satisfactory experience with... as some have issues. That would be useful. Guys I just Downgraded from ICS to GB 4.0.2.A.0.42 and rooted my phone. But when I scan for the final OTA GB update it is not showing up. I mean the final build. I have flashed the GB 4.0.2.A.0.42 several times on my phone, and every time there was the OTA update. But this time it wasnt there. I cant directly flash it with the ftf of the final build version bcoz it cannot be rooted. Maybe the update was removed from their servers. Please help me guys.

To update to 4.2 or 4.3 you need root your phone & unlock bootloader of device. Then download CM10.1 or CM10.2 custom rom ZIP file. Copy zip to SD card. Flash custom kernel comes with ZIP file by using fastboot tool.Go to recovery mode of phone then flash ZIP file from SD card (after wiping cache,data,system,davik cache). Falsh ---Omky

Unfortunately, no. Based on my experience, Wi-fi off, GPS off, 3G on, brightness set to lowest, using ICS, battery drains rather quickly i had to charge it in the middle of the day. But then i'm a heavy 3G data user.

Regarding the comments about ICS running awful, yes was true, for almost a year since I have this phone. It was new when I bought it, with GB, I let it to do its updates, and since then I had to wait its usual delays, almost after any command, or wait to recover from "freezing" for no reason... And I thought it couldn't get any worst, but in time because of its limited internal memory I remained under 70 mb space, & then I decided to announce all my friends that I have the most stupid smartphone every time I had this chance, with demonstration! Because of its necesary updates, I've gone under 50 mb internal storage, even if I uninstalled almost all the download apps, so I had no choice but RESETTING TO ITS FACTORY SETTINGS - SINCE THAT MOMENT, I DON'T RECOGNISE MY PHONE - IN THE GOOD SENSE! Very important - there are two kind of reset, and only the one without keeping the user data (factory reset) have effects. Even after making only necessary updates and after installing only necessary apps I remaind only with 90 mb (I guess I will pray at the next update) it's still running smoothly, almost like an ifone4 (without an S) without exagerating.

It runs so very nice and any app (lots of them) and GAME runs perfecly fine with good graphics. 1 root ur device by using flashtool. use doomlord's method. 2 unlock bootloader (optional) 3 download and copy Rom zip file u wish to install on SD card 4 ensure u hv CMW recovery installed after rooting. If u r using stock kernel, then u need to install,else custom kernel comes with it. 5 if you wish to use custom kernel instead of stock kernel, flash kernel by using fastboot tool. before flashing kernel, pls check compatibility of kernel with rom. if u dont know use stock kernel only, but ensure custom rom which u r going to install is supported on stock kernel. 6 go to cmw recovery, format cache,system, data,, wipe delvik cache, run zip file rom from sd card 7 reboot device, wait till rom get stabilized, ensure back up of data, keep usb debugging on, unsource install on in setting always. so that u can flash stock rom at any point of time if anything goes wrong. keep patience during entire process enjoy mail me if u stuck at any step. --Omkar

After update it doens't give any problem. But considering current options available in market xperia pro now would not be best deal as it has less ram & less internal memory. One year back it could be excellent deal. But if you are big fan of qwerty physical keyboard, go for it. Also note one thing softkeyboard with gesture ON also gives speed as faster as physical keyboard. --Omkar

Best method is Doomlord's method by using doomloard tool kit for rooting. First. U need to flash downgraded kernel tft through flashtool. Then run doomlord"s tool kit and again flash stock kernel. Hey dude, Don't worry at all! Bricking xperia pro is very well manageable & easy once u learn trick. When My phone was bricked first time, I was also worried, but searched on YouTube & xda developer website and unbricked it within a hour. Later on now I used so many custom ROMs & kernels, many times phone used to brick but again following basic step brings it back to normal operational device. Keep patience, try again & again. If still not able to unbrick call me or mail me.

I suggest you to mod zip of Xperia Ultimate HD ROM based on latest official 4.0.4 libraries (remove bloatware like movies, Walkman and so on) and replace launcher package with exact name of apk file, eg. rename Nemus or Nova to (sonylauncherpackedinfolder.apk-it's not right name,check packages and remember which launcher you had been replaced when you are using Aroma installer). If you ask me why official based, but not 3rd party ROM, it's because of camera drivers and 720p fluent recording.

Sincerely I don't see the need to update it. And the issues, could be said that they are still there, becasuse they are related to the higher needs in hardware and ram for the ICS update to run, as stated by Sony Ericcson in the update site. But that might not be that noticeable. Some are very pleased, for some others there are issues like battery drain fast and lack of responsiveness. If you want to update it try a tutorial from an user in a YouTube channel or another site who has good feedback for the update, or search at XDAdevelopers, and of course research for the pros and cons; then decide. For me, there's no need to update. First reason can be issues with games. A customer care representative of Gameloft told me it's better to stay in GB as games are most optimized for that version than for ICS. Enough for me to stay with GB, I like gaming and the Xperia Pro handles good most serious Gameloft and EA games, so ICS for the Pro, no. Just don't see the need nor a true benefit in updating. If I get bored of the UI I'll try GO Launcher, and that's it. It's not that I don't want to try or that I'm afraid, it's just updating has no appeal to me in this case. If it was updating to JellyBean I'd do go for it, that update does have an appeal. Can't tell you why exactly. Anyway, the Pro won't receive JB, but you can go and research for a custom ROM based on JB for the Xperia Pro, there are good ones for sure. Just read carefully and make sure everything works fine (wifi,3G, flashplayer, etc) then, decide. Ok. I Hope that helps someone. - L.

Hi ! Try unmounting the micro-sd card (settings > storage > Unmount sd card) or booting the phone without it. It happened to me, and it turned out the 32gb sd card I had bought off eBay was corrupted ! Download h2testw and find an adapter to check with a PC the micro-sd card you've been using. As soon as I put the 8gb that came with the phone back in, it all came back to normal. I got an exchange for the defective sd card and the replacement one is fine, my phone is "fixed"

I really love this phone. The design and everything. But considering is the best of the QWERTY slide keyboard Xperia has they should have put more RAM and internal memory to it and maybe more CPU. I would stick with this phone for a long while if those things were changed. I will only change it when all the stupid apps that can't be move to SD will take my internal space and the RAM can't handle the running apps. It is for me a beautiful phone and I wish they improve what I mention and I would buy it again.

Xperia pro is my first android phone...i bought it 10 months ago....and still having it...it's very good...but when I upgrade it to ics yes I experienced a little slow down...so I rooted it with locked bootloader...and then deleted some unnecessary apps and made a partition from the sd card to work like internal memory with the (link to sd) app to solve the low internal memory..so I didn't feel any slow any more and became like using GB...and when I play hard games..i make a swapp file with (ram manager)app (256 miga)...so I dont have any problem at all

In my opinion you did the best downgrading it. I very much like the Sony Ericcson stock GB Rom and UI of the Pro. And, wouldn't "upgrade" it to the many-times buggy ICS, nor try any custom rom*, because I simply don't like them and find them quite unnecesary, as the stock Rom has it all working just fine. If I ever get bored of its look I'd use some cool launcher or I'd get another Xperia. I'm sorry I can't help you with your doubt, but I don't really understant the need of updating to a higher version when this has proven to be 70% of the time unnecesary, 20% buggy and 10% not worthy. U must be having a defective unit buddy. Ive been using sony ericsson phones for the past 7 years (K750i, W810i, K810i, W910i, Cedar, Live with walkman & Xperia pro) My brother had the C905 too....... Even sony ericsson w910i (2 megapixels) had a very good camera. I am damn sure that xperia pro has one of the best picture quality of all sony ericsson phones. Better check the image resolution settings in the camera menu.

The class rating with SD cards means speed. Higher class rating is faster,smaller rating is slower. So class 4 card is much slower than the class 10 card. Class 4 is minimum recommended/required for most devices that support SD cards. I believe the xperia pro supports class 10 card.

Hi dude. I hope I'm not late to help you decide. Look, and hear ME. Never mind your friends. They might have heard, they might have read somewhere, they might just imagine all that things they told you. Lame is the word that worsts describes this phone. Nothing furthest from reality. I have written 2 reports/reviews about this phone and you can easily find it by searching "starsky182" in the search box right above. You'll find most useful information about this phone based on experience and fine judment. Just to answer your particular concerns: - Its battery lasts at least 24 hours on moderate, continued, normal usage (some hours of music, chating, some 3 hours of browsing, etc), having it's screen at 50% brightness. It only lasts 4.5 to 5 Hours on pure gaming. Not bad. But this is not a problem as you shouldn't play so much if you can't keep it charging while gaming. BE WISE. Battery life won't be a problem unless you won't be around any electricity outlet in more than a day. - This do gets hot. But let's be specific: It only does it in gaming. And, this is perfectly normal. It does't get abnormally hot. If that worries you too much, let it rest every two hours. It's not a problem, unless you plan to play the whole day for days. O.o Continued heat can degrade life expectations of ANY device. - So, you're a big fan of apps, that's cool cause so am I. Maybe not as big as you though. This device has no limitations to, not problems with any app. As long as you DON'T update to Ice Cream Sandwich. That's, in my experienced opinion, something you really have to avoid doig. If you read my report you may understand why. So you'll enjoy installing many, many useful apps as much as you like. This, however, depends on the amount of free space you have in the device: 320MB. You can always read on and find ways to get much more than that by means of using apps like Link2SD and ROMToolBox which help you move apps that aren't allowed to move to the SD card. This feature is called "App to SD" and needs Root permissions. Read on by yourself in XDA Developers, apps lover. - Disadvantages, let me see. In its price range: couldn't find any. This and its cousins Xperia V, NEO and Arc are the very best, being this Xperia Pro the most COMPLETE, easily the best one. Compared to more expencive ones: Very few and mostly irrelevant like: More space for apps? No need, you have the apps above mentioned to deal with this. More RAM? No need, I have never run out of RAM. Dual core? Not exactly needed. - Main and just to mention some advantages: Beautifuly clear display, very nice and functional desing, Qualcomm chipset (powerful CPU and GPU), HDMI port (this is awesome!), enough space and RAM to install and run any game and app you might like, etc, etc, etc., its solid and useful keyboard, and an above average camera (upgradable by using HDR Camera app). That's it. Just to let you think how good this Xperia Pro is doing: I'm doubtful about buying the all beautiful Xperia Z, I'm mostly sure I'll wait till Sony's 2014 flagship. I'm a high-end devices lover, but I'm not going to drop my babe just because the other one is a bit better and prettier : ) I do like it so much though. But I don't feel the need to upgrade yet. Hi, this phone is superb in this price range. i hv this phone from last 8 months & working great. It doesn't hv dual core processor, 1gb ram but doesn't matter as it has HDMI,front facing camera, sliding keypad etc. Plus its rear camera is awesome with Xmor technologies & u can record HD video too. Only internal memory is limitation, but u manage to store all apps to SD card it doesn't matter much. Finally, if you are not looking for dual core, 1gb ram, 5inch touch screen size, & looking for all other features like front facing, HDMI, sliding keypad etc this is best phone, just go for it.

i have this phone, rooting is safe if done properly through flash tools, but my suggestion is do not root it till one year otherwise warranty will be void. For hiding photos there r lot of apps available on google play which doesn't require rooting

Decrease in battery efficiency could be linked to software issue..I had an issues where the battery was draining in about 2-3 hours for no reason. I factory reset the phone and everything went back to normal battery usage. Its important to look at what apps you are installing as some cause errors with the phone. Sometime its best to only install one app a day rather than lots of apps so that you can keep track on which apps cause issues with phones...

Hey! you would like to read my "MY report on the SE Xperia Pro" just search for starsky182 in the search box right above. It's a bit lenghty that's why I don't copy and paste it here. To update a bit that report: I managed to use Chainfire 3D to "activate" high/full graphics (particles, flashing lights, smoke, etc)on the game Nova 3. It run it a bit laggy in SOME parts with my phone in it's normal state (3D wallpaper on, lots of widgets on, most unnecesary apps running) BUT, after changing wallpaper to one simple jpg, closing all closeable apps (I get 190MB free ram when I do that), and clearing most big widgets the problem was gone! :D I could pass the Mission on the roof where you need to protect sargent "Chao" (don't remember his name well) Jaja. Before I couldn't because of the laggyness (not too much). And so on, all fine! Even in multiplayer. All fine, but closing all background apps. Now I feel the game more real and it's more exciting! Although I'm stuck in the mission witch a 4x4 vehicle :( Can't figure out why the vehicle explodes xD Well, another detail regarding processing power: Using one of the virtual assistants: "Assistant" the speech responses are "slow" (2-4) seconds for the app to talk back to you. I think this is due to its single core. The Assistant do performs several tasks, but it takes some seconds (2-3) to fully show, for example Play Store when you ask it to search for an app, etc. Not bad, huh? Browsing: Now I use Dolphing Browser. It's satisfying me better than Opera and Firefox. Is features are quite useful. Speed is very good. Gamming: Generally above average. Very good. The games I like the most are: NFS MW, Asphalt 6, 7, Nova series, and Modern Combat 3. I have MC 4 but haven't played it yet. I head MC 4 runs smoothly in the Xperia Pro. In MC 3 in the mission where you have to defend the vehicle while scaping to the extraction area it lags a bit (lot's of bots/action), haven't find any other lag moment in the game. I'm going to try Chainfire 3D with the other games, maybe it could "unlock" higher level of graphics! Maybe, because I already can see them awesome! What you must do is root it. A simple process, so you can use cool apps like Chainfire 3D, Rom ToolBox, USB on the Go (to mount usb stick drives, so cool!), etc. to get rid of unwanted preloaded apps, and much more. Regarding your concern about upgrading to ICS. I would say you should not do it: 1st because is not worthy. 2nd because is NOT worthy (many are very insatisfied and regret doing it), and 3rd because Gingerbread looks very nice and it's one of the best Android versions you could desire, if not that; you could desire Jellybean, not ICS. If you want to overclock, you need some prerequisites, and you can test and try several custom ROMS. I have decided not to do that, because its stock processor speed is enough, and the look, feel and functionality of GB is already super fine. If you get bored of the same, you can try some launchers. There are several, like: go launcher, etc. Well, this has been all for now. If you need more details in some other aspects you can contact me at my gmail, just look for it as I suggested at first. All and all, I love my Xperia Pro, but happily, I'll upgrade in august to the Xperia Z (althouh expensive). A superb smartphone to replace my beautiful first one. : ) - L. Pd: Regarding apps crashing. It's not a problem caused by the phone, it most likely be the app itself. Contact the developers and ask for suppport and updates. But if the problem is very ugly you can allways try a to flash your phone (reinstall the system again) or set it back to normal with a factory reset. I have not had such problems. If you need details on upgrading or not to ICS you can google "pros and cons of upgrading to ICS" :D

According to sony website every set should received updates for two years. New functionality is not promised but bugs are worked out. But this was not the case with P990. Hope xperia pro doesn't have the same fate.

I have bought this phone one month ago. But from the beginning i'm having problem with the user memory of this phone. Most of the memory is occupied therefore whenever i start simple game like 'Where's My Water' or Temple Run' then it fail to start or start reloading in the middle of the game. I'm using Advanced Task Killer and Memory booster. Usually i have 40 to 50 MB free space with the help of ATK or Memory booster i could free 120 to 140 MB at best, still they are not much of a use. Have been using since 9 months now...Like this phone a lot in terms of look, Body material is solid shiny and eye catching, great interface i guess the best compared to any other brand, no performance issue regards to playing any games, and keypad awesome for quick typing can always beat a touch phone.Only issue which i am facing is the phone is bulky ,i dont use headset while talking so not easy to hold much long if u have habit of talking for hours continously for that i would prefer light wieghted phone.

I've just bought the phone some days ago. + The internet browser works as smoothly as the SS galaxy s3 of my brother-in-law. + The default movie player is not good enough to play HD 1080 so I have to install MX Player. + The keyboard is good. + I replace the default SD Card by a Sandisk SDHC 32GB class 10. The Antutu benchmark (v3.0.3) score is 4688 : RAM-503, CPU integer-715, float point-308, 2D-525, 3D-2195, DB IO-320, SD card write-42 (4.2MB/s), read-80 (8.0MB/s). I hesitate to update to ICS because of some comments writing that the update slow down the phone. For those who have updated to ICS, please run Antutu benchmark (free on Play Store) and post your benchmark score. It'll help to compare the performance between 2 Androit version GB and ICS. I never upgraded mine, was so happy with Gingerbread that i never felt the need to upgrade, it was perfectly stable and reliable and very smooth for a single core. For the same reasons my mother in law is keeping her Xperia Mini on Gingerbread, as long as she dont get the back button bug that has plagued many Xperia Mini, if that happens to her phone i guess i will have to upgrade it. BUt you try a factory reset, hope it helps. If not, there are ways to revert to Gingerbread, some sony centers can do it also if you are not into rooting and flashing.

Mine was silver and i would get silver once more if i were to buy Xperia Pro again. the grey/silver is clean and good looking, not like the plain boring and sad black one. Mine was heavily and carelessly used and had many scratches and damages but thanks to the silver color it was very hard to see the scratches, except on the chrome part. On the black model those scratches would be visible like bullet holes in your forehead =)

I had the same problem after upgrading to ICS. Then I gave it a Factory Reset and after that it was OK again. Keep in mind that a Factory Reset erases all you own stuff on the phone so you have to back it up first.

I have the phone and speak from Brazil, sorry if i made any mistakes all right? This is a incredible phone, stable, doesn't run extremely hot like other phones i had. It run's any game at max graphics without a single slowdown. The camera quality is amazing, specially if the photos are taken in a beach with direct sunlight. I think you really need to browse some pages before, to find my post. I wrote an almost comprehensive hands-on review about the sweet Xperia Pro. And I'm sure there are similar ones if you go further back. As XDA Developers say: first try ti help yourself, search in the posts first*!! ok? Btw, the physical keyboard is SOLID, SOLID, and it's useful mostly when posting on desktop-like view sites. Otherwise the T9 classic config on-screen keyboard is really fast and the best, way better writing speed than qwerty, for me at least. So, you can have the keyboard as a occasional tool. 1.i don't use the key board a lot but now the g letter is only responding to more pressure. 2.the two parts are fixed firmly to each other but i can't tell about the ribbon issue of the xperia mini. 3.built quality is about 7 from 10 but it is very durable. 4.the plastic are types some are bad and some are excellent for me i prefer the phones made of plastic,samsung has excellent phones made of excellent plastic,the xperia pro was build from low quality plastic but as i mention before is very durable,i forgot how many times i dropped the phone. my advice if u don't need the keyboard and u have the money go for phones with at least 1 gig of ram.

I bought this phone thinking I was buying a solid product from a reputable manufacturer. Unfortunately I have found this not to be the case. My wife needed a new phone and really liked the keyboard on the Xperia Pro and I wanted a bigger screen so I bought a Samsung Galaxy S2X and gave her the Xperia Pro. Since my carrier is different than the wife's I tried to get the phone unlocked. I've tried unlock codes and even took it to a couple of phone stores that used some 'test point method' without success. I'm now reading this phone has some sort of MCU security that prevents unlocking. What the heck is that all about? Did Sony think I'd stay with the same carrier all my life? I'm truly disappointed and out hundreds of $$ as the Xperia Pro is useless (can't find anyone to sell it to) and I still have to buy another phone for my wife. I've really been ripped off by Sony.

i was super excited about this phone when i got it...but it came with the speakers broken.i had it fixed but they upgraded my android after i specifically told them not too...and then i had problms with my qwerty keyboard,letters got mixed up..but it fixed with an upgrade i got from sony....and now...it doesnt charge!! the red led doesn't stand on red it just flicks..i tried everything 2 make it work but it just won't charge...and the other 3 times i did charge it..it took like 8 hrs for 70%...i hate this phone,it pisses me off more and more!! sony ericsson phones used 2 be very reliable.now i wanna fix it,sell it..and never buy another sony phone in my life.

i have been using pro 4 the past 1 year!!nd m happy with ma fone!me too updated to the ICS version a few months bak! but there is no lag or hang ups! only thng is its gets heated up considerably while surfing nd playing games..which is nt tht much a problem i suppose if u xperience lag in ICS..perform factory restore cos ma frnd did it and it works like a charm!! njoy using ur xperia pro :)

It is a Factory Reset in ICS. It remains in ICS, but the lag disappears after the Factory Reset (remember to back up all your own stuff first, because it is erased by the Factory Reset).

It has a good camera.. Nice hardware keyboard... For me the only thing is the battery life which last only up to 4-6 hours especially surfing the net.... Overall this phone is nice... Been using this for 5 months already..

update to ICS, it's worth it. If You have any problems You can always use custom mods and roms which upgrade the software in the ay you want. there's lots of info on that at - check their forum. Look for Xperia Pro topics etc. Since You have no warranty anyway, You can flash Your device and install Cyanogenmod 9 (ics based) - it's great software and very customizable. Good Luck :) regards

This is really very excellent product from SE 2. updated to android 4 through PC campanion long back 3. After updating to 4, its more smooth, and experience is amazing. No issue at all, RAM and internal memory has managed very well, no lag issue at all. 4. New features of android 4 working very well 5. No issue with keypad, its working fine I am really surprised how people r facing problem on such amazing phone whether its gingerbread or icecream sandwich, as I hv experienced both. This is perfect package in 16-18 thousands. Anyone who is planning to buy this, just go for it.

No, I am afraid not. The official white paper does not mention any compass sensor or magnetometer. I have also tried a number of compass apps from Play Store, but none of them did actually work. This is my only complaint about Xperia pro. Otherwise, it is a great phone.

Here it goes: :D SE Xperia Pro is, as today, one of the most COMPLETE, powerful, beautiful and reliable smartphones existing! After testing it and using it as a non-basic user it has not failed at anything! To be a bit more specific, in one of the most demanding tasks: 3D Games (to name some of mine): Asphalt 7, Granny Smith, World of Goo, Sheep and Clouds and N.O.V.A. 3; them all run smoothly and perfectly fine! What else do you need to test to know that this smarthphone is totally capable of handling whatever task you can give to it? Did I mention that I play with all Android animations "on" and with a 3D Live wallpaper "on" too? No need for 4 cores SGS3 at all :P (at least for a couple of years!) Just to enhance the report: - Usability, functionality of the smartphone in general is very, very good. - Its display is very responsive and lovingly clear. If you like drawing you can purchase Sketchbook app by Autodesk and make art as you like :D - Multitasking: Jumping/Swapping from app to app through long pressing Home button is fast and apps respond quickly. Response in general is instantaneous. - Its default gallery is very nice :D Its default browser does very, very good too, as well as its video and music player (this last can be highly improved by an EQ app). Default widgets are very nice and useful too. - Camera is fine; not superb. It's very good and better at taking short distance pictures. Flash does fine. There are aps for camera that can improve this. Although is already fine. - Music player is nice looking, functional and does fine. Loud speaker does good. Sound is loud and clear. - Earphones sound is very good. If EQ app is present, it's way better. No need for Power AMP nor players like that for me. Just an EQ app is enough. - Sharing through DNLA is very good with this one. Can see all my media in my lcd tv wirelessly. - Its HDMI port is one of the best features you can desire right now in a highend smartphone. Conecting it to a LCD TV and playing a 3D game gives you 720p output and turns your Xperia Pro into a game console/controller in seconds!! It simply rocks! - Did I mention that the Xperia Pro has the same internal components as the Xperia Play? That speaks by itself about its large gamming and graphics capabilities. - Its Notifications LED are very, very nice! Several colors :D - Maps, latitude are fine too. Haven't tried navigation yet. - Youtube/Flashplayer 10 (read 11 is buggy) app runs good and plays videos perfectly, both in the YT app as in the Android/Firefox/Opera browser. Quality is also good, but it's a matter of the YT app that does not allow it to play in 720p. - Most of the time RAM stays at 155-160MB free, with 18 services running. IT COULD HARDLY EVER RUN OUT OF RAM. I noticed RAM goes down to 90 Free when playing music and at navigating in Facebook app for like 4 hours, they load 35MB and 25 MB each, but you can easlily stop them or restart the phone to free up RAM and you get then +170. If you close several not used apps/services you can easily reach 190 MB free RAM. Just don't load the phone with stupid proceses. Closing them is easy, too. - Wi-Fi receiver does perfectly fine. Haven't tested the actual distance it can reach though. - Keyboard is solid, soft, nice and backlited! Not loose at all. T9 also available. If you want you can use portrait "classic" T9 keyboard, which does nicely. - Its body is solid too. Red wine color is better as fingerprints are less noticeable (read in reviews too). Although this is not very worrying. - For the screen you could use a protective film to prevent it from scratching. It is "Scratch-resistant glass" not "unscratchable" glass. It looks nice and feels very confortable that way (using the film). Its body does not catch dust, which is great. - It has several hardware sensors: Proximity: fine. The other ones: fine. Acelerometer: Superb!! :D For racing games like Asphalt 7 is perfect!! Like a wheel/helm! With HDMI, just fantastic XD - TimeScape is very nice! Very nice indeed :D You can view Tweets, FB wall posts, calls, messages, etc in a very nice interface. And fast too! - Battery backup is acceptably fine. If you want it to endure a bit more, just reduce the screen brightness and turn off what is not needed, of course charge it daily when possible! - Skype: not tested. I don't use it. But you can watch those things at YT. - USB to GO feature is present. Which means you can easily connect a wired/wireless mouse and keyboard to the Xperia Pro and it will recognice them automatically. (No need for LiveDock, usb to go cable does fine, usb hub not tested yet). A wireless with only one receiver for both keyboard and mouse is better obviously. That way through its HDMI port you can connect to and turn your HD TV into a monitor as a computer one, and your Xperia Pro into a CPU, then you can browse, view YT videos, FB, Twitter, anything else like that, as you wish! Just like on a computer :D! That is convinience in just one COMPLETE device like the Xperia Pro. How about that iPhone lovers? How about that everyone doubting on buying this device? What are you thinking? Go buy it before is too late! :P It will certainly satisfy you (all). Although you don't like what you've just read, of course. Ha. This is by far one of the top smartphones, and for all its potential and sweet desing, for me it is in my top 5. For me is the one :D Such a fanboy jaja. No, it's because is powerful enough for anything today and for a couple of years, thats why. Plus its desing and hardware. Just beautiful looking! All my girl/friends love it and are amazed at it everytime they see it jaja. And, as a personal thought "If Gb already does perfectly great, why is the interest in upgrading to ICS with all the possible bugs that may occur?" I'm very glad for purchasing this beautiful smartphone some months ago. And it has a lot, a huge lot more to offer to discover!! :D What are your thoughts right now? Let me know! Ok. Now some cons: Not a con, exactly. For the USB to GO feature to recognice a USB Stick on Gingerbread (2.3.4) it needs an app that only runs on a rooted phone. But this is a process you can learn to do, and it does not need to be hard, just inform and review for yourselves, as I'll do. I'm not much into that, sorry. That feature is really nice. Imagine carrying your Xperia Pro and your USB Stick (with your usb to go cable, of course) and pluging it to the phone to be able to watch movies, videos, animes, play music, view documents, anything! As easyly as that, without transfering to the SD, just awesome!! Isn't it? I'll try to figure out the best way to give my Xperia Pro that feature. I know some folks here can "teach" us, please! Although, it already has a large memory capacity (32GB) so this feature is just an extra. - Not a con, exactly either. I've read/heard that the feature described above is available in ICS by default. Which sounds great. Ok. But, as known (read in the SE update site), ICS needs more resources (CPU,RAM) to run as perfectly fine as GB does. So the dilema is: Updating or not to? Updating then rooting if needs tweaks to run smoothly? Not updating but do rooting(GB)? Or ICS as is does great too? *-* Could someone more involved in this matter give me a hand, or a comparision chart on de advantages or disadvantages or upgrading, to help decide, please!! I just upgraded this xperia pro to ics. at first there was a problem on the physical keyboard. the QWERTY turns to AZERTY. i was so sad then downgraded the ics to gb. and there is some problem too after the downgrade, the camera is not functioning. so i decided to upgrade to the higher version of GB, (but not reach ICS). then it turns automatically into ICS. with super performance, no lag, the physical keyboard became normal as usual. the speed was so fast compared to even the previous GB. i am so happy. :)

hi. how many MB free memory available on your phone? try clearing cache file to free up memory, if all thing fail, backup and try doing a factory reset. I'm using GB2.3 too. not much lag unless i play big games. i got another one with ICS4.0.4 it running fine too, same as GB2.3 some time it lag but not to a usable point. internal memory and ram of this phone is really low, but if not installing too many apps it should be fine.

Hey pal! After a couple of way of using it now it lags like hell. Still running GB. Nearly every command is followed by between 3-7 second delays. It is possible however, that I have not set up everything properly since it's been a hectic two days but, the bottom line is, it is lagging very badly. Task Killer and Battery Defender are acting weird and available RAM seems to be way too low most of the time. Any input on what to do about it? Or should I just feck it and give ICS a go? Thx

Black is better light wise meaning it will give better light in the darkness when u press the keys although bcoz of black colour scratches will be more apparent whereas silver is better look wise but again there will be a problem regarding keypad's lighting. Hope this helps in deciding which colour to choose.

I upgraded my Sony Ericsson Xperia pro from Gingerbread to ICS 4.04 last week. No lag issues so far. Battery life didn't become worse (maybe it became even slightly better). The only issue I have using ICS 4.04 is LED notification. When the screen is turned off and you receive SMS or e-mail message the notification light does not blink :( That should be fixed in upcoming update. Till then there is workaround - SMSAwake app.

Hey all! Got mine jst yesterday with GB installed. TBH it does lag. I have kinda expected that to be the case, after watching all those hands-on reviews on youtube, where the reviewer did nothing but flicked back n forth in the menu n stuff, singing and dancing about how it does NOT lag. So, I kinda knew it won't be as brisk as heaven once there are actually apps running as well, so that is fine. The lag is not constant and tends to stay below the set-off level of my nervous threshold centre. What i am worried about is the ICS upgrade. Have read way too many bad reviews saying how it makes the issue even worse. Most of these are a few moths old, in fairness... Has there been any subsequent update, patches released or such, during the last few months. Clearly I wish not to deteriorate the problem. Answers greatly appreciated. thks

I did feel the same but not sure because I upgraded as soon I bought the phone and it could be because the LiIon battery needs to go through several cycles before it gets to its full capacity. Problems after ICS: Indication LED does not blink for sms event. (very annoying but I read there's an app for it) Can no longer connect phone over wifi using SE PC suite (using MphoneExplorer) Some apps are incompatible but this should not be a big issue as apps get frequent updates. Other than above I don't think there is much to loose or gain from ICS but I'm not a pro user yet as this is my first android so it may be better to stay updated rather than with old software. I'd say you stick to gingerbread before next update from SE.

Here is the link for rooting ics update of pro build number 4.1.B.0.587 : ­ Follow the step by step instructions in the guide. Use the Arc and Arc S kernel when flashing the first time using flash tool. During rooting of the device the device screen will go blank at a certain step. Follow the last step (5th step ) and your display will come back again and device would have been rooted. Note: I followed the above steps and got my phone rooted. I am not responsible if any damage is caused to ur device. ( If any thing goes wrong u can use the pc companion software to reinstall ics back as gud as new ).Just posted this seeing a request for the procedure.

Hey all. Am having the hardest time deciding between Xperia Pro and Galaxy Ace 2 (or maybe Galaxy S Advance). They are pretty much the same - according to reviews: no lag, brisk and smooth navigation, display etc. Pro's big selling point for me is the qwerty keyboard but am a bit worried about the single core processor and the fact that it is over a year old and may not continue getting OS updates. It is about 3 weeks that I'm using this cell phone, and I'm totally satisfied. I couldn't really imagine I can get sth with this high quality and state-of-the-art technologies with this cost. The quality of the display, the video recording, Qwerty, HDMI, voice noise reduction. all where good. The only cons I may hardly mention is about the quality of photos in poor illumination and moving objects, although I can not compare it to other cell phones; and that I couldn't install PC companion from my phone; so I did it from Internet.

I'm having the same problem as yours (asd) once update to ICS. My phone reacts terribly slow each time I select or tap. Could be around 4 seconds or more per tap. Drains my patience. Battery is worrying too. Too hot and too short life.

Updated it to ICS. No qwerty to azerty issue but I think its more of a downgrade. Some issues I found in one day usage: Indicator light doesn't blink on missed sms but does on missed call Some apps unsupported eg Slovoed eng to eng classic 2.1 which works with fbreader only works on GB. Mounting through wifi is now unsupported. Now I have to use Myphoneexplorer. Battery drains noticeably faster. Minor UI tweaks are not worth the hassle. In short GB is very good so don't waste time 'upgrading'. I hope Sony will issue further ICS updates or I'll downgrade to GB.

All HD games lag,especially Asphalt 6,7,Shadow Gun and GTA 3. To solve this uninstall McAfee Antivirus. The Dark Knight Rises lags even after that. It lags on all devices with Adreno 205. Newer game needs better performance i guess

Sound quality / speaker quality is also worse, and the FM radio signal is less as well. Still, as a smartphone the Xperia Pro is great and the battery life in particular is very good.

Help! I updated my Xperia PRO via WIFI from 2.3.4 and it completed but theres no change at all. Its "about" in settings say Android Version 2.3.4 but in the end baseband says 4.0.2 (or maybe 4.0.4). And even my apps stopped working, requiring update as happens after update but the phone is still using GB and still says Sony Ericsson on restart rather than Sony. Even by looking for updates, the update centre says your phone is up to date :( but all the UI is of GB! I updated my Xperia neo via the PC companion and its updated to 4.0.4 flawlessly. And on the restart, Sony Ericsson became Sony etc It had asked me to press the back and home button together on restart (i dont know what for but i wasnt asked to do it via WIFI update).

Temple Run is jerky, but i suspect it's more a problem of the antivirus rather than the phone. I haven't checked asphalt, but the hardware specs are good enough for both these games.

No. the screen does not break by it self in your pocket! BUT! if your phone is in your back pocket and you seat on it off course it will break... :) price range for this phone is really good. cheaper compare to samsung or htc phone, same specs with 3.7" screen. up to you if it worth buying or not. i'm happy with my pro.

I do not have my fone rite now, pls forgive if i m wrong. open contact list, goto contact menu, there u will fine an option of back ground synchronization. disable that option and u will be done. OR (this procedure is confirmed) Goto settings, then goto wireless and networks, then goto mobile operators, there u disable packet date option (it will totally stop ur fone communication via GPRS) OR, Thirdly, goto android market search for a relevant software that would restrict specific softwares from keep updating. I had an app i remember i was ONAVO or ONAVU, it was an excellent app for that purpose. BTW i am a galaxy advance user and i told u the general ways to get ur desired result. they are not exact, I told u the right path, if there is a little difference in ur options then its upto u to get at the right place :) Good Luck

Great news ppl! The keyboard issue has been fixed. i did a OTA update (settings > about phone > software update) and download a 1 mb update file which fixed the azerty keyboard back to qwerty! thanks and good job Sony :)

"ICS 4.1.B.587" is not the version of the Android OS in the phone (4.1 should be Jelly Bean not ICS). It's the version of Sony firmare for this phone and it is based on Android ICS 4.0. Please go to first you need to unlock your boot loader then flash your kernel with rooted one you will need google ADB drivers installed flashtool installed A ROCK SOLID heart, you may get stuck in the process and brick your phone. I purchased my phone 3 months back, it stopped working in 15 days and during past 3 months, it was for more than 1.5 months with service center and its 3rd time and it's still with them. first time they changed mother board and then in 2nd time speaker. Now they are not accepting even a single problem, but my phone still has lot'of problems. when ur phone is connected for charging, and you are using FM, it will lot of disturbance of sparking. Although, I have spent money, even i am not enjoying it. Making me frustrated. Sony guys are not ready to change my phone also. ))) -- Had experia pro 3 of them the best phone, maybe you dont know how to use the phone, thats why you say its not good lol!

thats not a bug or any other sony's mistake, but thats keyboard layout, its depend on keyboard region layout, if u want to get qwerty back google for xda , azerty is other region keyboard layout.

here how i fixed my slow xperia pro. after update to ics4.04 do a factory reset. install ics4.04 again using sony ppc. do a repair install, it wont take long. factory reset the phone again. uninstall the stupid antivirus software bundle. it works for me. no more lag or slowdown. smooth ICS4.04 (^^)

Had first 4 days with the pro, two with GB and two with ICS. The stupid quirk of Sony has been loading AZERTY keyboard(used in Europe, especially Germany) for the hardware keyboard on the Pro in the ICS update, instead of the usual QWERTY. So u have to interchange the letters Q & A and W & Z which one gets used to after sometime. Hope they fix it with some minor update. Another foolish accessory is the so called Sony PC companion which is a dud at least on windows XP SP3 and above. Had to download Myphoneexplorer from the play store to move contacts from outlook to the phone and syncing. Aprt from the above idiosyncrasies the phone is a good buy especially at the prices available on e-bay. Great looks and nearly all features of high end androids, good screen with sunlight visibility, camera etc. I am satisfied and it has been a VFM. Had to go for ICS update as this came with GB 2.3.4 while I am already using GB 2.3.6 on my Galaxy Ace.

After three days with the device, 1 with GB 2.3.4 and rest with ICS, following are the impressions. The stupidest thing? The Sony PC Companion sucks big time at least on windows XP3 . This filth of a s/w can only update your phone. For the simple task of transferring contacts and syncing I had to download My Mobile explorer from play store. Another stupid quirk of Sony is actually loading the European AZERTY Keyboard for the H/W keyboard instead of the required QWERTY one which is very much present as the on screen one. Once you get used to interchange Q & A KEYS and W & Z keys and u are as good as any keyboard. However no major improvements with ICS however it looks cool. Overall am happy to have this @INR 13000 on e-bay. Also u can download fllash player for android from adobe site and enjoy flash enabled browser again. I am posting on the phone thru thr H/W keyboard. Itself.

A new bug fix firmware 4.1.B.0.587 is on its way for the xperia pro. The fixes include notification led issues, call dialer lags and camera issues and maybe some more fixes. The firmware is currently being rolled out for arc, ray and live with walkman.

The best Sony phone I've ever buy with a reasonable price! Very good performance before rooted but better after root it. I love all about this phone. If you have any problem about lag, I suggest that you root your phone and flash custom kernel and rom (I recommended Riyal's Ultima). You can overclock your cpu and also set the minimum frequency for your cpu. When notice that the minimum freq for our phone is 245Mhz. So i reduce it to 122Mhz and guess what, my battery last longer! Can go for 2, 3 days. Well that some improvement. Here some review about pros and cons: Pros: 1)Screen (bravia engine) 2)Camera 8mp 3)Slide QWERTY keyboard 4)LED notification (just like blackberry except ours on the right side) 5)Reasonable price 6)A long-last battery Cons: 1)I hate the silver colour one (I don't have choice because thats the only colour they have at that time) 2)Heat up when use to play game for a quite a long time. (I guess other smartphones also have this problem) 3)The hard button. It should be only one hardbutton just like xperia mini pro. Looks cooler like that. Well thats all I can say about this phone since its the BEST smartphones with QWERTY keyboard.

No, force-stopping McAfee will not prevent it from causing problems with games. You need to uninstall it completely. To do so you first have to remove it as a device administrator under settings->location & security.

xperia phones came with pre installed shatter proof sheet on the top of the scratch resistant glass,if u have a lot of scratches on the sheet u can remove it ,and put a protector cover instead of it. i agree with u that the internal memory is very low,but u can easily avoid that by rooting,then u can u the hidden extra 100mb of memory,or u can clear the dalvik cashe,use install manger app,or u can use riyal costume rom(ultima)which offer u to install directly to the sd card. i agree that the build quality could have been better but with the good price of the phone u will get excellent 8mp camera excellent keyboard,bravia engine,good battery life,good audio output,easy handling and hdmi output.

No more qwerty from Sony. Just as well, xperia pro only have a good keyboard, the rest is very mediocre, mine gave me many headaches the 9 months i had it, for example the screen gets scratched easily, and the 320MB user available memory is way too small (u can NOT move everything to memory card, thats a lie, apps need to use some user memory, 320MB is a serious limitation) Very plastic phone indeed, you can twist it, it bends a lot and make squeeky plastic sounds. But yeah, the best keyboard, worst everything else.

the problem is quite easy, you just need to change the setting of your camera. if i were you i'llchoose the biggest because it is also the best. the pic you shot on your phone becomes 'shattered' when viwed on pc cause the resolution of the pic is low and that's its effect when viewed on higher resolutions. just before you shot a pic search your settings first and you can find what i'm saying there

Just bought one Xperia Pro (AP) recently. Found the loudspeaker sound is crap and very soft even with maximum volume. The sound becomes softer and softer after few seconds if play a song. Worsen is when flipping screens, I can hear one soft speaker burp sound. Sent back to the shop in Subang Jaya SS15 and told me that it was built such a way, cannot help. Very unhappy with the phone and seller.

heyy pls let me know if someone know about this problem --> i have this phone and its very good but about camera which is 8.1mp. problem is that when i take photo its looks stunning inside phone but when i actually see it on computer its doesnt look like clicked from 8.1mp camera like its pixels looks like shattered. one more thing is photo size is just around 800kb-1000kb. it should be around 2-3mb as its 8.1mp camera. anyone please have focus on this or facing same issue

hi...i currently have htc and the problem i am facing is that it has low internal memory. all the android or downloaded apps first get saved on the phone and can later be transfered to sd card. maximum internal memory is used by htc software itself. i am therefore not able to download anything. looking for a change to xperia pro...want to know if the downloads get saved on sd card directly or on the phone memory first...dont want to face the same problem again.. any other handset anyone can suggest...looking for touch and type model..
