Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet Wi-Fi - User Reviews

  • I am thinking of getting this tablet in 2018. I am looking at two tablets actually, this or the Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite. The advantage of the MediaPad M3 Lite is it's runnong Nougat, octa-core and has four speakers and fingerprint scanner. No XDA support as of yet. The Z2's advantage is Snapdragon 801 (vs SD 435) water resistance and XDA support, I have seen Oreo Roms. A second hand Z2 Tablet is much cheaper compared to the MediaPad M3 Lite, But I worry of the battery life since it has been 5 years since this was released and the MediaPad was released in 2017. Hmmm which should I go for?

  • my device is running on Android 6

  • both Z2 and Z2 wifi support 128g micro sd card according to Sony .So i don't know were you got your 64g from

  • Own WiFi only model, screen is good and performance is nice. However WiFi is picky on it, it won't connect to my nexus in 5ghz mode only 2.4. Android 6 is not available for WiFi only model either, very frustrating, Sony updated their companion software and no update seems it was beta registered users only, not acceptable.

  • From whear

  • I love UAE , I just bought this device for 160$ , they have amazing offers and I bought apple mini 3 and galaxy tab pro all for the same price , this country is fuckin' amazing :D

  • congratulations SONY !!! another very good device.it is very powerfull, very good baterry, very good display and natural colours, very smooth. A real piece of art.

  • It amazes me how Sony is able to create great android hardware. Hats off to their software development team, as the harmony and compatibility between the hardware and UI is amazing; which something Samsung and others cannot do. Battery life is crazy; plus it really charges fast if you use the standard adapter, not USB cable (it take about X2 times longer if you charge using PC/laptop). 3GB of memory and 32GB of disk is also incredible. Wifi and GPS work flawless. Screen is really top of the line and tablet is very thin and lightweight (about 450 grams). I have the SGP512 version now but I will upgrade to 3G version (SGP521) as soon as possible. Totally recommended. This tablet is the ultimate answer to iPad products, I am not exaggerating. Try one if you can, you will probably wanna buy it; much more powerful & faster than Samsung and Apple tablets.

  • Yes the 4G version does.

  • Got this a couple a days ago, and for needs its basically overkill, since already got a 7inch 3g HD tablet and a 4 inch mobile, and a stationary computer (Mac pro)at home.. But the Z2 was offered to a great Price on Black Friday in a big national Danish Electronic-chain (Elgiganten) and useally the prizes in Denmark are some of the highest in the World, because of enormous taxes/moms.. The price on the Z2 tablet 32gb ver. went for a few hours Down from (there otherwise pretty competive) Price of 630$ to 330$. and when you have in mind, that there also rules a cashback in Sony Denmark/Scandinavia on there xperia Z serie, where you would get 400DKK (67$) cashback when you delivered purchase-proof.. So at 263$ for the 32gb Wifi version..its one hell of a tablet, and with the comming Android 5 Lollipop update and PS4 remote play in mind, its definately looks like it has some future packed in it.. Im pretty familiar with the alternatives, like Galaxy tab pro, Ipad air.. but i gotta give it up for Z2 that solid felling of high-end-product just stands out, with the amazing 6.4mm for a +10inch tablet.. and the huge bezels with only 426g makes it a joy to use and Work with, and hold with one hand.. The new IP58 rating/certified, looks promissing, but I will wait to check that feature out and put full confident into these completely under-Water tasks.. all in all, it looks like one hell of tablet for relative Little Money, and partically the front where you can't sense the screen, before it turns on, - goes in harmony with the the hole edgy design.. Best looking Fellow on the android-tablet-scene in my view, - and the 3GB Ram, comes to good use with the evolving & not least powerdraining Android-materiel.

  • This is not a phone, just WiFi tablet!

  • does it make calls

  • 6 hours screen on time at 18h with 23% left is more than longer, it's my soul mate

  • I fell the same. Doesn't appear t charge faster as announced but it does last longer

  • Yes, battery life is surprisingly good. It is even better than my 7" PlayBook with dual core processor and I think 8000mah battery (or is it 6000? Can't remember). Las update was supposed to make it charge faster but I can't say if this is true but it does seem to me the battery lasts longer. And you should consider the quality of sony batteries, my Sony Ericsson Arc has the battery exactly as new, even after 3 years of abuse, my W980is as it was back in 2009 when I bought it and same for my 2008's k810i and even my 2004 t610i is still running strong, although not as it was when battery was new.

  • I was sceptical about the battery life as my phone (xperia z1) has amazing battery life and has a 3000 mAh battery. I looked at the stated battery life and sawn that it was also 'amazing'. Anyway, I ended up getting the z2 tablet and it's just insane! And the battery life is so good! You can get like 9hours of netflix on it easily! It easily gets me through the day and I use it a lot! I watched a 2 hour film and it lost about 15%? With Bluetooth on as well! I don't know how Sony did it but they have and it just shows in the performance. In my opinion, this is the best tablet out there at the moment by far...

  • Despite the update from Sony which supposedly improved the touchscreen's responsiveness, the screen is still not as sensitive as it should be. Sony needs to WAKE-UP and address this issue QUICKLY, as it really kills the user experience with the device.

  • After the latest update it seems to me that my battery has improved, anyone noticed the same or is it just me?

  • After the latest update it seems to me that my battery has improved, anyone noticed the same or is it just me?

  • I ha the same choices has you do and went for the z2 and I am glad I did!

  • Without any shadow of a doubt, Z2. Lighter, better cam, with a refreshing design and not the same old, boring ipad looks.... Waterproofing, Sd card, real universal bluetooth, IR remote (blaster and receiver, so it is programmable), mhl (ultra Cheap) tv connector and usb Otg great album for photos and fantastic walkman for music. Really a no brainer, go for the z2

  • Hi guys, has anyone updated Xperia Tablet Z LTE to Android 4.4 Kitkat yet? Is it working properly? I want to update mine but still thinking what it it will have some issues after that

  • ipad air or z2 tablet?

  • i suggest go to what ur heart beats...i like sony brands..the quality..durability and ruggedness..is up to you thats my opinion...chill...

  • z2 my freind but the screen on the note is more brighter

  • z2 tablet display is IPS not TFT, and it supports micro SD up to 128GB not up to 64GB.

  • HI Guys Need some help I would like to buy my first tablet but I don't know which one ????? here my choice the Z2 ,note 10.1 (2014 edition) or the tabpro 10.1 . My favorite is the Z2 should I stick to it ???? thanks

  • HI Guys Need some help I would like to buy my first tablet but I don't know which one ????? here my choice the Z2 ,note 10.1 (2014 edition) or the tabpro 10.1 . My favorite is the Z2 should I stick to it ???? thanks

  • I have this one and the note 10.1 2014 I must say that the screen on the note is brighter and more sharp however the z2 will eat it up in a speed test I also find the huge bezels very useful for holding the tablet

  • Simply put, I am living mine!

  • I want one of these beasts!

  • Got it yesterday from o2 its even better than it looks on the pictures, awesome specs and very fast good batery life

  • I use it for three days, 30% reduction in battery (wifi, maps, music video, to 50% brightness). I am satisfied

  • with wifi ac too

  • Of course! That's the whole point of it!

  • lol

  • OH...Water proof tablet !!...Now you can see dirty movies on the shower !

  • I don't use it either but I wouldn't mind having a flash in it. But do you know what would be so real stoke of genius? A front facing flash/video light for when I will be using my tablet for skype video calls.

  • Just ordered one of these, can't wait till I have my hands on it!

  • Im confused, is this TFT Like Z1 or IPS like Z2?

  • For those arguing about TFT/IPS, most displays today are TFT (thin film transistor)...even AMOLED displays are TFT. IPS is a specific type of TFT LCD. The confusion comes from Sony (and other manufacturers) labeling their displays as TFT LCD because they don't want to specify what type of LCD the device uses. Most likely because earlier Sony displays sucked and were probably TN panels. I believe the Z2 tablet uses an IPS display.

  • hello every body Iam Iranian and i wanted to sey you in here you can have signature for apdateing sp to kit kat

  • this is ips lcd not tft

  • 1. There is a cellular version in Sony section. 2. This is a TFT not IPS

  • first: it is wifi version so there is no Micro-sim Second: the display is IPS LCD display

  • Your recommending a Samsung tablet just because this one has huge bezels and low resolution? Something's wrong with you mate. 1920x1200 has hardly any differences to 2560x1600. On paper it's not. But in person it is. Sony : Waterproof.. Dustproof... Elegant design. Cheaper... Better CPU (who cares bout Octa cote.. And I'm sure they cheated in benchmarks again.)...

  • "1200 x 1920 pixels, 10.1 inches (~224 ppi pixel density)" -Bad ppi and resolution. A 10"+ tablet with these specs is outdated for 2014. -Ugly screen-to-body ratio (big black bezel border). Reminds me of a digital photo frame. Go with Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 or Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) if you're into Android 10" tablet.

  • best tablet

  • My first tablet was z1 and its amazing. I hope you'll like the new one

  • Li-Po 6000 mAh battery... Ahahaha, for a 10.1 Inches Tablet, SONY must be over-joking.... Dear SONY, we don't have the time, nor the desire to charge that ridiculous Tablet 3 times per day... Like... REALLY!!! :P

  • 6000mAh battery is almost half of some competition 4 hours of battery life realistically? thank you very much but NO

  • So am I to believe this tablet can play music for 8 days on one charge??

  • Not everyone has a phone that can take good pictures. It's not practical but it's better than taking bad pictures

  • Nobody uses tablets to take pictures, and there is a SIM genius.

  • lets put it this way its a boaring tab i mean geez no flash even no simcard thats kuk water proofing wow i never take my stuff near water

  • I just placed a pre order for my first tablet and I am so happy that it will be Sony Xperia Z2 tablet. Estimated delivery date is 19 or 20 March. I hope it deserves waiting... :)

  • this tab is super awesome

  • Wowwwwww...just 6.4 mms!!!,although being waterproof makes devices bulky. Sony is master of all tech companies. It's the best tablet in the world.
