hello jinu..this is harold...uhmm yea obviously there are some certain restrictions when it comes to japan versions of the phone. unlike the euro versions,you can just easily drag and drop music files and viola!!!its already in your phone...in the japanese phones,they are very strict when it comes to pirating their music...or lets just say...there is no FREE music in their country...you really have to buy the rights for the music you want..and too bad,cost really much..that's what they call chaku-uta full music...you can download the .DCF file through your phone but still,it won't play unless they will gonna send you the rights for you to play it... Oh.. and how about your toshiba 911T..you can't use your camera,the T.v or any other applications right?aside from texting or viewing files...?

hello and good afternoon to all i have the japanese version 902t for the first time i openline my phone i put mp3 but it didnt work my sister have the unit also but it is a euro version with red theme not like vodafone toshiba 902t from japan that has a blue theme diff about the euro version and japanese version vodafone euro version -can play mp3 japanese version -cant play mp3 for those have the euro version it can play mp3 file but for japanese version in cant play mp3 file you have to convert it to a 3gp for wid a amr decode not aac because if it is a aac the phone cant accept it it says invalid file this jinu from philippines im still using this phone even i have the new softbank 911t toshiba i buy this phone locked but i use a hypersim that i buy at ebay for 1500 thn to ol about the info it really helps !!!!

hehehehe actually my reply to you earlier is my mistake... i do try to check first for its link then i manually type it to enter URL and presto i got some games already on my fone.... by the way i have this converter already of MMF i do use it on my sharp vodaphone 802sh b4 to have a real tone msg alert tone then suddenly i do try to make some full song and try to transfer it on my toshiba but sad to say i cannot find it.YAMAHA decorator is the one im using... hihihihihi askin again your help how to make a full song for me to play good loud music on my toshiba.. tnx and advance by the way one of GSM arena reader is also askin about this so your help on me is also help to him... hahahaha..ya know what trish...it's the same thing that happened to me....but did you know that...when that big question mark appears...it doesn't mean...that you can't dload anything...it just so happened that from the moment you've surf thhose sites I've mentioned...they are having a maintenance... OK HERE i AM AGAIN..GIVING ANOTHER TIP...before you will gonna waste your money surfing that site via your phone...try to surf it first on your computer and see if it is working...then if it does...then go on now on your phone...you will really gonna love the games there...thanks to UNCLEALLEVIL..but there are some games..which you cannot dload or wrong application...just skip one of those whenever you encounter that problem... oh and about the music..I have posted some mmf files music but sad to say..it was gone..I dunno why...for some music...just go to wap.funformobile.com..tick on the ringtones,then go to search for a tone,then enter "david cook"or "always be my baby" then tick the uploader of that song which is me "HArold" then you can see some of my music on my phone...you can dload it from there and you will gonna see that it got higher quality than you are using right now which is the amr file types...

to trish:yea..when my phone was at my hand before...I got a lot of games...it easy 2 download yes...but don't save it on your memory card or else you will gonna fail to dloa it...try this site... great games there...but there are some that u can't download...make sure you have enough space in ur phone memory...try to request some sngs that you like...then I'm gonna try to convert it in mmf..files for you 2 try it on yur phone...the next time I will gonna give you the codes an the site yu need 2 visit...

hello trish and kath.... 2 kath:uhmmm did u actually receive 1.gprs/3g/mms settings?(to check if you got it...go to settings,-->internet and check if you got the settings there...named(smartinternet) or something like that)...or 2.you just got a message...that your 3g/grps is already activated?if you got number 2.,then theres no way 4 u 2 surf the net....if you got number 1. then try to restart your phone...then you should hve a load of at least P12..after 4 restarted ur fone...check the upper left corner of the screen if there is a little 2nd "G" beside the other one..then...try to go in vodafone live(actually you will gonna be redirected on smart wap site...) and to trish:well good for u that u are satisfied of the quality of the amr...but in my case,I abslutely dn't like the quality really pisses me off...that's why I came 2 that Idea on making my own chaku-uta full...heheheh..its really simple...just follow my ins..and the steps on how to use the softwares...

hello trish...this is harold...uhmm since I lost my phone..I can't really text you..and I am very sorry about the delay of my message to you here..uhmmm what's about your problem...could you please tell me your whole problem specifically..about some mmf files...just use mmf files...which has a codec of ma-5...just try to visit the yamaha smaf site and try their wave sound converter...its an easy task to make some ringtone out of that software...and about the bluetooth thing...it won't allow you to receive and send some files via bluetooth...I really dunno why is that so..but the thing is ,the only thing you can send via bt is just a business card I think...and what about xml files?could you please broaden your question?take care

OK here I am again invading this forum ...well,I got A trick on how to play a.k.a how to play mp3/mp files on this fone....and I already used this method for over a year...I am not supposed to share this thing since I think that this method is a bit illegal because in this case we are going to make some CHAKU-UTA FULL MUSIC.hehe but sad to say my phone was lost...OMG too bad..all you got to do is drm'ed your .m4a file music...using the SONY ERICCSON DRM PACKAGER...just google it in that case...after you have drm'ed it and put some rights on it...a 2 files has been produced...the .dcf(the copyrighted music) and the .dr(the rights that you need to send it on your phone so that you can be able to play the .dc file on your phone)...uhmm this thing is a lot complicated since you can't just drag and drop the .dr file on your phone...you need to send it as a text message..you ask something"OMG,how could I possibly do that?"well all you need to have is a nowsms application and another phone(that supports gsm modem option,well in my case,I used nokia 5200)install it and configure the settings and run the nowsms web interface..and at the bottom of it...theres a thing called"send xml document settings"now try to open the .dr file on notepad copy it and paste on the send xml document settings...put you number you are using and press send...few secs later you will gonna rcv a notification message that you have new rights..and VIOLA the .dcf file will now play on your phone....I am from philippines though..and if you got lots of questions just post it here and I will gonna try to answer...tekker

hello guys..its me again...the ma-5 thing...ok i'm gonna shed some light now...this phone is not supported with mp3 playback right...they only play mmf...and mmf has decoders mainly ma-2,ma-3,ma-5 and ma-7...ma-7 is the latest and has the greatest audio quality of all but sad to say toshiba isn't supported with it...but ma-5 also gives you better quality(i also used this) well here is a lil try of what i've edited...just click this url download and save anywhere you want on your pc and transfer it onto your phone.... and that's what it is...try it and you'll love the sound quality...the song is beautiful girl sang by jojo... if you want to edit some wave files by yourself... just visit this site and fine wave ound decorator and dload it...but remember the file size is limited and the edited mmf file should not be over 300kb..if you have something to ask just post here and i will try to answer...have fun^^

its works very fine for me when it comes to music....mine is a japan made toshiba 902..yes it an't play mp3 music but it can play ma-5(visit yamaha site and you can see an mmf converter)don't use ma2 converter use wave sound converter...ma-5(much more better than that damn mp3) supports better quality than ma-2....you should try to grind it yourself....just use a lil brain on doing it.very simple...well its good only for 30 secs of music...but i figured it out myself o how i can play it full track but its for my personal use only....

for the convenience of smart users who wants to unleash watching mtvs, video clips, and hi-speed downloading on your 902t, here's what you need to do: **again, smart users only..no globe: SET 3G N70 (send to 333 - just do it) once done, you'll receive your settings and will be asked to activate them. Code required will be simply 1234. then, check your network settings. It should give you Smart Internet Smart GPRS Smart MMS These settings can be viewed but cannot be edited. Reboot your phone then try the Vodafone Live! link in your browser...it should lead you to smart's home page. one more thing, if you are going to download games from republika.pl, do it on PC, hover the mouse on the link, type the link on your phone, and it'll do straight download. DO NOT use the phone to browse the site. it will waste your time and your load as well. lastly, for music stuff, unfortunately, the phone can't read mp3s - only 3gp, amr, midi, and smf. so just bear with its low quality sound or sell the phone if you are not satisfied. anyhow as for me it's still a very nice phone. ^_^

hi again, i have read the posts from other 902t users, and I think i can help you with some concerns. in regard to downloading games, try to get them at these sites: www.getjar.com wap.getjar.com uncleallevil.republika.pl sharp_902.republika.pl do not save them on memory card, use phone memory instead. It won't allow you to save games on memcard for reasons that i don't know. don't worry though, the phone has lots of space good enuff for maybe 10+ games (or even 20 i guess). I only have 5 with me and I enjoy playing them. default password of 902t in case you do not know is 9999. you should try these passcode if you need to master rest the phone. please refer on my previous posts on how to setup your 3g to enjoy downloading games and browsing stuff through this mobile phone (NOTE: smart users only - no globe). as for bluetooth, unfortunately u can only use blutooth for sending contacts and notes. but for sending pix and other stuff, you can only use MMS or Infrared. You can receive pix via BT but you won't be able to send using it. as for USB issues, i do not have a USB cable with me. what I use to transfer stuff is a memcard reader, and OTA - for downloading stuff online. hope this post helped you in someway. my contact 09286570631. i do not answer nos. from TM, globe or sun. ja matta.

I am beginning to love my phone despite of its shortcomings when it comes to playing mp3 files. I had a chance to download lots of games and apps, and the phone works wonders. Imagine playing 3d games on this phone for hours - if you are aware if Fishlab games (awesome 3d java games), and also adventure games from gameloft, and even the old school games like space invaders, atari games, even street fighter of snes...my phone's heating while playing but its fine! its normal. although my current music files has low bitrate, while im using it in my office still the loudspeaker sounds ok and not that distorted unlike if you use earphones on it. you'll love this phone eventually, just learn its capabilities and go with the flow.

helle ppl, it's me again. For SMART3G users, to unleash the phone's 3g capabilities, register your phone as N90, and it should work. Vodafone Live! menu will be enabled and it'll lead you to SMART's homepage. For detailed instructions: - SET 3G N90 (send to 211) - GPRS ON (send to 333) - MMS ON (send to 333) As for everyone's concern regarding playing music files...someone suggested to convert mp3s to 3GPs to play them. I've tried that ImTOO software thingy and sad to say, i am not satisfied with the results. 3GP files have a very low bitrate - PROS: if you have a 1gb sd card, you can store LOTS of music files CONS: WORST SOUND QUALITY EVER! on the camera, it's fine I have no comments on that. Unfortunately, this phone is not mp3 capable, which is not for me - I browse, i download, i record, i play. that's me as a mobile phone user. anyone interested on my phone, i've posted it on eBay.ph you might want to look at them. It has been gmasked for a unique look - from matte black to striped red.

I bought this phone recently (it is a vodafone 902t from japan), and I agree that as far as functionality and features are concerned, i had a good deal (I got them at 7k php with 1gb sd card, all the manuals, the cradle, charger, utility tools, tv out, headset, and box all in japanese characters). one thing's missing, usb cable. anyway, what i found out GOOD on this phone is it's cam and vid features. As I was reading every user's opinion with regard to this phone, I hate the fact that it is not mp3 capable (if you disagree, i'll be happy to take your advice on how to play mp3s on this phone). I tried one of the advice here wherein u need to transfer them to ur SD card, but unfortunately, my fone cant read'em. One thing I would like to ask all of you ppl, "if i'm going to convert an mp3 to a 3gp file, does the sound quality will be affected also? and is it guaranteed that it'll work fine? if so, where can I get an mp3->3gp/amr converter software? which quality is better, amr or 3gp?" Another thing i noticed...i love the fact that you can browse internet using its 3g features but, everytime i download stuff it says "contents error." why is it so? Does it have to do with its settings? Hi Me zillur from Bangladesh. Recently I am using this set TS921. It's really an excellent set. New user please read the catalouge carafully. You will learn many things. Mp3 song is running good and photo is like digital cam. same like Nokia N70. One thing I am missing here, No Fm Radio is not avilable in this set. The Black colour one is really attractive. My inquiry is about my toshiba phone vodafone 902t or ts921. Recently I encounter a problem with it. I was sending a text message or SMS when my phone automatically turn off and when I turned it on the screen just displayed the message DB_ERR and now I can't use it anymore. Every time that I turned it on it just displayed that message. Can anyone help me with this problem. i got this fon 3 weeks ago from my sister in japan..i cant play mp3 nor wav file songs..only amr file. sad to say the quality of amr songs arent dat good! is thre a way for me to play mp3 songs? where can i purchase the usb cable for these fon and the beat engine software as well? my sis left it n japan..i only got the extra battery, and charger..grr.. hannah_me from the philippines davao city

I have a toshiba 902t. But I can't send and received via bluetooth. And I cannot play mp3 files, wav files and wma files. Someone told me that I must change the firmware software of my phone so that the phone will perfectly works. Is there anyone know where I can get this firmware software of my 902t?

2 a2yd : sorry i shud make the point dat 902t n ts921 is a lil bit different cos the japanese version doesnt support mp3 playback . only the 903t or newer does . n no1 had yet solved dis problem

they shud all be the same 1 beat engine, so it shud work on al toshiba fone, but if not , try n auct 1 from ebay or yahoo auction hk or jp as there r many sellers

thank you so much for the info! i really appreciate it, now, ill just need to try it out as soon as i get an sd card hehe... am actually using an mmc card for now from my brother, funny thing cause it works for the pics and some vids... but oddly it cannot transfer music files, is this normal? i mean, is that the difference between the 2? and regarding the beat engine software, sadly i left my cd somewhere very far (abroad actually), can you tell me where i can get one? i was able to download a japanese version but from the few english words that are readable from it, it says beat engine for v502t, 604t... can i use this? thanks a lot! thankyou thank you! to BB Well I'm pretty happy with my phone, I mean it was a pretty cheap price for the technology I was getting, but again everything seemed to be lock, but I also didn't get the "beat engine" software so I have to wait for my lil brother to buy his 803t or 904t to get it, grrrr. Don't know why this model isn't that popular, it not the greatest looking phone but for the price and for what your getting, it equivelent to the sharp 902 at about half of the price. Probably one of the most under rated and underground phone there is.

2 a2yd : sorry 2 disappoint u ... there is noway dat u can flash de firmware, as the fact dat dis isnt a popular model, so nobody wil do it 4 u n u cant really do anything about it now 2 those who wants to put mp3 : if ur ts921 comes wit a cd-rom "beat-engine" then u jus simply follow the steps instal dat program n u can add in mp3 2 ur sd card easily , the other way is to use sd adaptor thru usb n connect 2 ur pc n u wil see a new drive , u wd need 2 format it first , then copy n paste the mp3 songs in2 dis folder (PRIVATE / VODAFONE / MyItems /Sounds & Ringtones) ... dis works wit the japanese version so the eu version ts921 shud work as wel

I have a hacked japanese vodafone version. I can't seem to get it any other way, I live in the US. If anyone knows where I can get the firmware flashed or to have features un-lock any help be appricated.

to a2yd : try using the usb cable , but generally it shud work using sd adaptor , n yes most things are lock by the network , so try get vodafone 2 unlock dem 2 all ppl : its true dat dis fone has got bluetooth but it doesnt allow u 2 send or receive files ... it can play mp3 , but dis ts921 is same as the japanese vodafone version v902t... which means u cant set mp3 as ringtones , only if u can get it unlock or change the firmware

Need Help

Can anyone help me, I bought this phone and at first it seems like it would be great but everything is locked. For example I can't take a picture out of the phone that I took from the digital camera by taking out the SD card and putting in the SD card reader to my computer. Any help would be appricated.

Just a couple of questions about this phone: Can this receive other files (jpg, mp3, 3gp) via bluetooth from other phones? I get the error "File cannot be saved" Can this play mp3 files? I put mp3 files in the sounds and ringtones folder, but it only seems to read midi files. i cannot see the files i put in. hope somebody helps me out

its trying to get hold of it..its not sim free not prepay but cant find it on contract at vodafone its dissappeared..THE fone has tv output as well
