just search in the playstore for an app named 'MTK Engineering' after installation, run it. choose MTK settings then choose hardware testing, then choose power choose power and performance customization except for 2nd and 4th option, change all to low power then u r good to go

This phone is 1 out of 4, First of all, Its Heating so Bad, light gaming and Battery Temp is 40C, Stuck in Marshmallow 6.0, Camera Quality needs a bit improvement, Lack of MIUI update(Nougat), MEDIATEK useless, rarely connected to 4G and its accelerometer( for me) is broken(i have to literally exit the app to, put my phone to landscape and open the app again) and lastly, i bearly found any Custom ROM that is compatible with MTK. On the up side, yeah can handle gaming like PUBG in 45 FPS in Smooth Graphics, 64GB Storage really handy, and its Hybrid Sim Slot.

not recommended for gaming, i mean i have redmi 4x mediatek with 4 /64 and guess what? it's lagging, overheating and waste my battery, it's better using 4x when picking redmi 4 series even with 3/32 the Snapdragon much better than mediatek, dammit! >:(

Base in my experience about this phone!.. since I’am Heavy User; I have loaded 500 aps 25% heavy games And the rest Video Edit and Photo Edit and Music..I will say 95% I used internal Memory then since dual sim I used Only one and I use Microsd 128gb.90% left…so my Phone Redmi note 4 4x 4gb 64gb Still working good…I have no problem! Updated MIUI 10.2.it awesome speed..deca cor 2.2ghz..I hope still bill deca core and with notch...battery terrific!..I used already 2years from now...

I used this phone 1.5 years now and its is still run smoothly and even receive update to miui 10,but recently my phone start losing network connection and now it turn to become on and off for few minutes,if i turn on data connection,the Signal turns to E and then it just lost connection.? Is this caused by imei.? I seen on youtube,people can't check their imei but me the imei is still visible and now its really annkys me,what would that be,and how to fix this.? Using this fone for 1.5 years now... Miui 9 is a disaster...overheating battery draining all sorts of problems... Experimented with almost all the roms and found that only official miui 8.5.5.0 china stable is giving me cool temperature long battery life & almost 6 hours SOT... And batery is charging faster use only 1 amp charger to increase life of phone battery, stock charger overheats the battery n fone become hotter...best rom discovered.

As you say, the android is still 6.0 Marshmallow. For the miui version I think it's 9.6.1.0, but it will be updated in like 4 months (maybe more idk, Xiaomi udpdates are really unpredictable).

I have recently reset my Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 in view that it was overheating and the battery was draining within three hours. Before resetting I had a facility in the setting by which I used to switch off mobile at 21.00hrs and switch on again at 7.00 hrs. After reset this facility is no longer available in the settings menu.

My RN4 MTK was giving me over 4h of SOT with my usage for over the last 2 years. After recent duo update I was able to get to 2-2,5h of SOT and constant 37-40 degrees on battery and phone was very hot. So what I did was disable duo and other google aplications that I don't use. I'm using official global and no root is needed for that(you can google it how to do it). Now my SOT is over 5h!!! I thought that my phone was dying on my because of the issue with duo but it turns out its better than ever.

I already made factory resets 3x now. The default rom is no longer miui 8 so I need to do a manual flash if I wanted to downgrade. I'll just wait for miui 10 and hopefully these issues get resolved.

There is no need to do a factory reset. The problem of phone heating up and draining battery is in fact the result of Google Duo bug - if you just uninstall latest Google Duo updates, your phone will be ok.

My Redmi Note 4 started to act up two days ago, lagging and overheating even at idle mode with wifi off. Battery started to drain from 90% to 20% overnight. I have tried troubleshooting following all the advice I see on the internet, like rebooting, shutting down while charging, clearing cache, deleting unnecessary apps, deleting photos and videos that came through whatsapp. This phone is used for Facebook, Whatsapp, internet only. No gaming at all. But it still overheats in idle mode. What to do??? Time to change battery?

Unfortunately it does not work on the 700MHz frequency in Band 28, so I can not use VoLTE technology in the TIM Brasil operator. When it comes to Xiaomi support for this specific model with Mediatek processor, Xiaomi is leaving much to be desired, it seems that Xiaomi abandoned the updates for this model with Mediatek processor

Compared to variant with snapdragon it has no advantages. It heats up very much, even after 10 mins youtube videos its getting quite warm. Xiaomi doesnt care about it -newest beta roms is joke - battery life is less 50% on it. 2 hours of youtube on beta rom and battery will drop to 10% from 90%. Even with each "stable" rom battery is weakier after each update. I reverted to 8.5 frm 0.7.2017 stable Rom, bc battery life looks to be very good there. It never got official android update to Nougat. Unofficial ROMS with Nougat are very buggy, there is no ROMS with Oreo.

Just found out today through Benchmark test that my Note 4 is using this MTK CPU after 7month usage .. damn took me long to realize it. Well my friend just gave me this phone as present though. So far never face any problem, just camera is bad and gaming experience is just good but not that great, multitask is running ok Well it shocked me fyi. lol

I own it and use it in almost 1.5 years this is a simple experience and subjectif, so it could be different with another people experience first. i like this design so much, and one of my reason don't change until now is the design looks cool, elegant, and sturdy imo, the newest xiaomi phone such as redmi 5 plus or redmi note 5 were failed the design, i don't like how they mix the metal and plastic in top and bottom, the phone doesn't looks weel and lost it's unibody feeling. and redmi note 4 mtk, the design was the best one, full metal body and performance, i don't really think it was fast, for game is just standard, I play RR3 daily and after i played about 30 minutes, the graphic performance were decreased, that was not pleasant experience. i tried to play PUBG, but this one could not handle it, even in lowest graphic, it still laggy, i don't know it's hardware or software for most game is actually okay Battery Capability This one is the worst weakness from this one i play RR3 30 minutes and it takes the battery almost 30% and start from 100% it easily dropping out to 80-90% just in idle position, i think there was a bug hope xiaomi release the update soon if i use for normal daily routine (no games) it could last to 10 Hours but it is depend on different network and setting. i would say that the battery durability is not really good but after i use it for long time i know some tricks and i can playing games 1 hour without decreasing the performance the tips is playing with a fan nearby the phones, or in a cool condition, it's helping but still need an effort okay. my conclusion is, this phone is not that really bad, but if i could recommend someone to bought it or not, if you are a gamer, look for another phone. but if only for daily routine, i think this phone is good enough and the design was awesome. really good looking and looks expensive, the metal on the back was the best on Xiaomi Redmi Note Series.

I m using redmi note 4 mediatek varient 3Gb 64Gb now for almost one year.. It came with china stable rom 8.2.2.0... Best phone in this price range... Battery time is realy good.. And mobile is very fast too.... Its global version with s.d 625 is slower then mediatek... I used both but mediatek varient is way faster and relaiable phone... After lots n lots of experiments with different roms e.g official miui china stable & Global stable.. I found miui china stable 8.5.7.0 best of the best in all aspects... Sound quality, battery timing, and very fast snapier then all other roms i hv tested... Miui 9 failed lots of batery drain & very slow... So i end up with miui 8 stable 8.5.7.0... Simliar global stable rom has lots of bugs and its slow with terrible fonts... So if u want to get the best of redmi note 4.. Go with the miui 8 china stable... It also has English language.

Hey stable guys.. I m not joking..this phn will get nougat bt not from stable rom. If u have been using about 1 year u shouldn't wait more. Android N based developer rom is now available for this phn it's a update guide. It's hard to believe that I m using split screen multi window on Android version 6 and my phn is not rooted. I flash developer rom from service center and have been using about 8 months without any issue it's perfectly stable even smother than stable rom. I think I will get nougat within few weeks because I my brothers developer rom(Android v 6.0.1) running rn3 pro could not get the split screen with same update because rn3 pro had updated once from lollipop. It's only possible Android v 7 miui developer rom even not v 7 stable rom so guys what do u think..how could I get this? It's updating and going to get Android N. I believe u can believe so spring it's legs and get on with it. It's amazing u will see. Good Luck!

I m from Bangladesh. my phone display cracked and i just shocked i have replaced market display by paying 2200 tk the display color is poor and its just not comparable with original.. because of having a powerful image processor(antutu 13k+) display refresh rate is amazingly high though.. but i m entirely shocking about the market displays cheaper color. I've been using it for more than one and half years and the performance is exactly the same as i bought it even with everyday playing graphics intensive 3d games like asphalt 8,modern combat 5,nfs no limits etc..yeah asphalt 8 on highest setting lags when heat occurs bt of course it doesn't matter for this price range. Multitasking handles with ease, faster web browsing, 4k hdr video runs smoothly and display is amazing..

I think this Helio X20/X25 soc are probably the first MTK chipset on pair with Snapdragon chipsets. I have 2 phones running SD 625 and this one running MTK H X20 and there is huge difference in speed. Helio X20 is much faster and responsive compering to SD625. X20 is also more power thirsty but still, with 4000mAt battery it lasts a whole day +some more. SD625 is like VW Golf diesel that is not always super fast but can very easily last for 2 days with same battery. I wander why Xiaomi stop using SD 650 (RN3 pro/plus) coz they were really good compromise between performance and battery life, Or why is there no SD 630/660 chipsets in any of these phones.

Low chip like mediatek p10 powered Xperia xa got nougat..bt this x20 is almost 50% higher than p10. So Xiaomi's fault here. I always think mediatek is best in mid or low budget and snapdragon in high budget. Only xiaomi provides good sd powered phn under economic budget bt they are not sd 810 they are budget chip like 625 or something more. My brother using rn3 pro shows 22k+ score on antutu cpu benchmark and my phn shows 26k+..bt rn3 pro got nougat because of having good relationship between xiaomi and snapdragon..If I don't mistake.

I am using this phn with miui 9 7.12.1 developer rom. It's continue to get update from MI weekly. Rear camera is not pretty good but selfy camera is fairly good under daylight. Phn performance is very smooth except too hot and the deca core has a huge benefit of multitasking with extented battery life but battery is not very good during normal activities. Oh...the screen quality is amazing and great vr experience. In my one year and more experience it's just so far so good. I like this exceptional performance from this mediatek chipset.

Any Xiaomi phone with locked bootloader can be flashed using xiaomi deep flash cable... you can buy one or just make it yourself . . . take any comon micro usb cable.. make a cut on prtective layer.. youl see four cables inside... just join green and black cables... thats the super-cable LoL .. this work mainly with snapdragon powered phones.. procedure.. turn off you phone... connect that cable to phone.. then connect to PC .. PC will recorgnize it as some qcomm device ... connect it for about 9 seconds then disconnect and use normal cable.. Before doing all that you need to disable the windows drivers cheking system .. to allow unsigned drivers to be instaled.. then install those drivers.. then do the cable procedure... best regards

I was sitting at MI centre for my redmi note 3 servicing. My phone was hanged at MI logo and service person has resolved this problem after 2 hrs doing some formating and booting via their software. One thing I was noting while waiting about MI complains which customer showing during that two hours. Total 10 customer i have seen and they have following complains with following models; 1. Redmi note 4: Call receiver and hearing problem. 2, MI A1 : Call receiver and microphone problem, Touch screen problem.(Purchased just 3 days back from flipkart) 3. Redmi note 4: Mobile hanged at MI logo. 4. Mobile automatic go on off mode. Apart from this my relatives and my office colligue who have redmi note 4 they also facing same problem of call receiver and microphone and hearing problem. Some news sight i found many reports of MI device apparently burst. So friends the only solution is customer should be awake and highlight this all issue on internet and social networking site more and more. Thanks, Rajesh

All Xiaomi phones are excelent .. awesome built quality... main problem users will have is market dependant, wich is nothing else but NON Oficial Roms that seller flash on the device to match your home language.. look for settings and about the phone see if your MIUI version have 4 digits.. like 8.5.3.0 thats an oficial version and it will work perfect... else go to there you will find all oficial ROMS for all Xiaomi models, flash the one that fits better your needs since you will find Developer, Chinese and Global Roms, and three different ways for flashing. If your ROM is oficial seggest you to use the oficial updater app of MIUI. Xiaomi keeps an awesome politics on updating their terminals... I have this device for about 6 month and still using it. At first, i am enjoying so much with MIUI Rom. But everything goes awful when i installed some apps that requires background services. MIUI is so bad at this. MIUI turned them down even after i whitelisted them to allow background service. Since then i really hate MIUI for poor RAM management. So, i move from MIUI to MIUI based Custom ROM out there. But the problem still going on. Next, frustated by MIUI, i move to AOSP based Custom Rom. Because of Mediatek, i realize how hard developers build various AOSP based Custom Rom for this phone. Many of them are just MIUI based Custom ROM. I regret for getting Mediatek version. But finally i got one from MIUI forum with Marshmalow based and use it until now (hope there will be Nougat based). This device is great with stock android. Until now, i use AOSP Marshmallow with Tasker command to activate general android Battery Saving Mode when screen is off, and the result is so satisfying. The battery lasts almost 2 days in a single charge. So, for those who want to buy Redmi Note 4 Mediatek, i extremely recommend to buy the Snapdragon version and use the AOSP Nougat ROM, and you will know how good this phone at AOSP

Well, above all the complaints everyone have and still facing, I don`t know why people never try to expedite what is the truth and what must be published. As far as I know, one of my colleague having it from the last month (Aug, 17) and there is not even a single day when he looks like upset or stressed. The reason is he know the fact that he purchased the cell while waiting for 4 months. Battery endurance is superb. OS developed by MI is amazing still on Nougat comparing to the other v7.0 devices. Runs 4K videos smoothly. Camera is alright. In my opinion, if any body want to have a low budget, high end specs cell, he/she is on right decision to have it (may be 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB).

This Phone is not worth buying esp in Indian context.The phone is being made popular just by managing media and in online forums i dont know how.The company has no presence in service, the hardware is of poor quality inside.While the touch and feel of phone and the various indexes may be good, the performance in hand is what matters.The touch is strictily average, the phone gets heated and hangs regularly, and the accessories is of very poor quality.My charger was replaced two times and still the charging is pooor.The service centres are present at very shady places and are overcrowded, meaning others are also suffering.I have three phone owners with me and no one recommends buying this phone. no one ! I am a REDME NOTE 4 user, It is a worst device as per issues and services by XIAOMI. USB and adapter is not compatible with the battery capacity of charging. One will suffer a lot by replacing charging accessories multiple times. Battery bloat issue is very much serious. The cases of phone blast are real because I had also experienced the battery bloat issue.At last a strong message that if a company provides latest features in a least price smartphone , the quality was surely compromised by the company , they collect their revenue through service and this only hapenned in India.

the problem basically comes with a connection error with earphone jock, pl clean the earphone socket in phone with corronbud.. it should rectify your problem you have to insert the bud in to the earphone hole and clean.

Got it like 5 months ago and I use it a lot because it works as a satnav in the car. Not even one problem so far but I regret not getting the 4GB RAM version, 3GB seem like just enough as it fills nearly full really quickly. Also in 2 hotter days in July even though it was not placed under direct sunlight in the car I had 45*C temperature warning and alert for power off to cool down. Took like 30sec to be ok again. Otherwhise no issues and runs smooth. Some people also say it gets hot (in general) true but rear cover is made from aluminum working partially as a radiator for fast cooling. Sometimes it gets "warm" but not like super hot. This 45*C issue appeared when it was around 38*C outside and it was lying for a bit in the car. I was comparing it with S7 edge and overall Note 4 performed faster. S7 had some lags that didnt appear in Note 4 when switching between some running apps. Overall I recommend it because for normal everyday use including navigation it runs enjoyably smooth all the time and has nice big screen. Quality of the housing is good as well, after wiping with a cloth 5 months later it looks like brand new. Maybe Android 7.0 will never arrive on it but still nothing better for that money.

As we compare this phone to other in price , then it is good. but bad customer service at service centre. common problems are listed below 1 If u use another brand earphone than it will damage microphone and speaker (software problem) 2 charger port problem (most common) or Cable problem. cable will loose fit after some weeks, 3 Bad display toughness. it will broke easily, 4 Many MI store has not enough accessary like cable, cover etc. 5 Bad MI solution by their executive, they will not repair anything, they always try to replace the parts.

After updating the OS MI 8.2.4.0 I had noticed in my phone there is problem of repeated charging and Un plug the charging within fraction of sec . This is common problem for all user , I had checked with my group circle after updating the latest version of MI this problem persists And there is no solution for this. Hence I visited MI service centre Rajkot And meet with manager Kishan Kumar And got to know that there is some issue with charging circuit and it need to be replaced under OW . I am very much surprise to hear from service centre that this is the hardware related issue where the manager has confrim that its software related bugs and It need to be update So I gave my phone to service center for flash /Format purpose . At the time of evening when I reached your service centre I found that your people had not update of flash the software and clearly inform that its charging circuit need to be replaced under OW and it is not procure by your service centre and inform me that It would take 10 days you need to keep this phone at our end for 10 days . I have purchased this phone to use and not to get it stuck up at the service centre And I will not pay any single amount to repair my phone. Consider bellow points while purchasing Xiaomi device again 1. very few number of service centres compared to sale 2. service centres timings is also inappropriate - opens up to 6 :30 PM & Sunday off ensures you have to take leave from office to visit centre 3.Non availability of hardware parts 4. Most of cases they will ask you to leave handset for more than week which simply means you have to buy another handset 5. Interesting part is Local shops easily solves same problem in less than half hour 6. but it simply means you will lose warranty claim farther I thinks Xiaomi service centres is best method of fooling customers As nobody wants to travel for searching centre in office hours & leave without mobile for week... If the pictures you've downloaded from Whatsapp are saved in your SD card, that would explain why you see it in your Whatsapp but not on the Gallery. Another thing could be that you haven't actually downloaded the pictures yet and they are only visible in your Whatsapp conversation threads.

Update your firmware to the most recent stable version. Battery drain is a known bug in the early versions of MIUI 8. You may check your battery usage and you will notice that "Android" is the top consumer, which shouldn't be the case. It means that even if the phone is Idle, it is still consuming too much energy due to the firmware bug.

I just bought this long awaited model 2 days ago, I was so excited when I received it in my hands. BUT... It's a great phone with one major problem, horrendous battery life! I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone else. Read the review here prior to buying it & was expecting at least 2 days battery life with average use. FYI, I don't even YouTube not watch movie nor listen to songs using mobile phone .... Just normal browsing, FB, Instagram, email, couple of phone calls in a day. That's about it. The sad thing is that, with these normal usage the phone can't even last me until 8pm! Battery runs out usually by 6-7pm at best! My old Galaxy Mega 6.3 can even last me 1 whole day without any problem after 4 years of battered up use! Hence I must conclude this is a major major disappointment indeed. I read the review here & they mentioned with average use battery can last an impressive 2 full days. In real life it was a disappointment. Oh well, besides the battery, the performance, storage, screen resolution is as very good. 😐😐😐

Moral of the story, don't sync your stuff with Mi account, Mi Cloud. Security doesn't equally to flexibility. You can get all your stuff back if you sign in to Mi account again, but need to wait it download from Mi Cloud for your contact, message, call record. You can't sue them, however, as there is listed on the agreement to expose your personal data to Xiaomi before even creating a Mi Account, and they can be turn off. Well, those are much similar to Facebook, they just do it a indirect way.

P9 has plenty of power at cpu. that's why it doesn't matter. bt it has also failed in graphics. only processor boosts ultra speed which is a quality..as a example kirin 950 is more powerful than sd 810 bt at gaming sd 810 provides more smooth experience with high quality graphics..finally p9 was a flagship device so u can't compare..

Please if you not in India, please don't pay attention to Indian user comment. The variant we have here is with snapdragon processor, not with stupid Mediatek and mali the one shown here. So please check the box and if its chinese version, then may be heating, lagging can ve very much issue. Indian user review are purely based on snapdragon.

Very high cpu bt weak graphics. that's why its sometimes terrible performance in high performance gaming. antutu score wise cpu shows maximum 27k plus which is really unexpected for this price range device...bt 3d shows only 17k..which is really not good.need to match cpu and gpu bt its a far difference between cpu and gpu.. Anyway its a cheap prices device..bt u can get phenomenal raw processing power with this..

The best phone for alternative cheap gaming phone, there some issue on keyboard, etc, but I dont really care about that kind of issue as long all my Final Fantasy games runs smoothly, no lag, no freeze, no problem at all, even tho I play 2 heavy games on the same time, the phone still respond well, and the best thing the battery still alive almost a day without charging, I will stay with this phone until Xiaomi released another Mediatek cheap phones again :)

Redmi note 4 it's a good smartphone with an affordable price. But, you should to think first before you want to bought redmi note 4. There are 2 kinds of CPU on this smartphone, that is mediatek and snapdragon. The helio x20 can run android operation better than snapdragon 625, but the helio x20 is probably heat faster and spend more battery than snapdragon 625. In the end you decide to choose helio x20 or snapdragon 625 or maybe you want to buy another smartphone.

I puirchased this fone with a lot of expectations and it has somewhat let me down. There are a few issues which can not be ignored. First whenever its kept in my pocket and there is a call many times the call gets disconnected without my knowledge and there is a msg sent to the caller that I am busy or some other pre stored msg. Secondly whenever I am using whatsapp when I click on a particular user or group something else opens. Also when I check a video in the group it open vertically and then when you go back it takes you to some other location on the group. Means you have to find your way down to the original msg yourself and you loose track of the msgs. Also the touch is a little over sensitive I felt. Sometimes you tend to click something and some other thing pops up or gets activated which is quite annoying. I am complaing abt the fone soon and asking for a refund or replacement. Thnks

It is too irritating when I use my phone (redmi note 4) for too many hrs (I mean 3-3hrs) because it will get heated in instant and the notification will be on it always.excluding the problem of heating it has a good performance with up to 2 GB ram left in it .coming to software it will be usefull if they provide us to see the full message in notification bar (,I mean if we swipe down any message from WhatsApp etc ,it will show the full message but this is not there in contact message )

i purchased the xiaomi redmi note 4 4G from gearbest. After 7 days the phone was installing an update and froze at 60% done. Result i have a 7 day old house brick. i haggled my case with gearbest and the best help they offered me was to send a replacemen phone out but i had to pay them £140 to cover admin and postage and i could keep the hardbrick phone. I have been trying to unbrick the phone almost every day for 4 month now. Lesson is buy local. I will never purhase another item from overseas again

Unbelievable the comments i have seen so far seems to be paid comments. I bought this phone almost 2 months back (3 gigs/32 gb) and trust me there have not been any problem whatsoever. Yes the phone does not support fast charging, however the battery lasts the entire day with heavy to extreme heavy usage and will still end up with 30% battery. No lag whatsoever in gaming (Asphalt 8,Terminator & Nova games). Fingerprint sensor is extremely quick. The touch screen is awesome and haven't found any stuck or dead pixels on the display. RAM management is also excellent, in short your phone just never hangs. I was using Samsung Grand 2 and the phone used to hang a lot. Yes the camera may not be the USP of this phone as it takes average shots, but trust me not bad it is manageable. The camera performs only average in low lighting conditions otherwise ok considering its a budget phone. If you are looking for advanced features in the price range of 10 k to 13 k this is the best phone available. Always consider buying from the official website www.mi.com rather than buying from Amazon. The phone got delivered in just 3 days and it was very well packed. Can't comment on the service center as the need has not arise to visit one. Just waiting for the Nougat update for this phone and will write my review about it as well. Regards Purav

The specs given /claimed by Xiaomi redmi note 4 are so over inflated, seriously. All reviews which say that this mobile is good value for money... Look like paid reviews !! The hardware / software specs sound great when you are comparing models... But the front face, maintenance, software, back up & customization is plain SHIT !! The keyboard interface is shit... Can you imagine the keys for ? & ! are given on the secondary page... And the front of the keyboard has selections for 3 different types of using brackets & some other symbol rarely used. The calendar, messaging, notes etc are equally SHIT. The user interface, claimed to be customized by MI, is extremely poor compared to other brand models. There is just no flexibility, choice or options about adjusting your screens & interface. Even the PC interface is pathetic. After you download the MI program on your PC, you just cannot connect your mobile.... Keeps giving error messages like... Pse update your mobile settings !! Even after infinite attempts at 'updating' your mobile.... You cannot connect !! I simply fail to understand as to how the interfaces can be designed to challenge even the most seasoned users !! Extremely POOR MOBILE PHONE, save the claimed 4gb rom, 4000 plus battery & 64 gb hardware... WHICH seem to have been put in just to ATTRACT customers & PROMOTE SALES WHILE THE GOING IS GOOD. Did google map come with the device ? If so, tell them its their fault cause the device came with the app and u didnt install it. Ask them to replace the device with a new one with no google maps in it. However, if all the complaining dosent work, do open google maps after uninstalling all the applications one by one . I "presume" there is another application that is causing the issue.

I think the issue is with the way the Note 4 is setup. You will need to manually choose your Network settings. .. Do Go to Settings >> SIM Card Setting >> Preferred network type >> And choose your preffered network. "Not all phones are perfect".. :(

Am using the Made in India version of the MI 4.. it has the Snapdragon in it. Charging seems normal. Not sure on how the charging is on the Mediatek device. Anways, do use the provided charger. It should work.

Dear friends, I recently bought a Redmi note-4, with its flip cover and scratch guard. I must admit that the phone is good given its pricing but physically it's very fragile. My phone fell on the ground while walking (with its Mi flip cover and scratch guard on). The cover simply came out and the glass broke. The screen glass is very very fragile and thus its not worth buying the phone. A customer spending 10 to 11k on phone would atleast expect Mi to provide with decent screen glass. There curved glass has also certain disadvantages like this as it keeps the useless screen so exposed. In Fact they must provide gorilla glass even if the price is 1000 higher. I would not recommend it to anyone. I have used ASUS phone before this (bought 2.5 years back in the same budget) and it had real gorilla glass. The phone is still working very good and it had fallen from my hands number of times. Selling Mi phones at such a lower price is a scam! Too disappointed in Mi. Will never recommend it to anyone. I feel cheated by Xiaomi. The worst part is Mi website is not displaying my review to the public. This means that they actually filter all the reviews and put most of the good ones because of which people end up buying there shit products !

The flashlight in my Redmi Note 4 sometimes work and then too often not work. Even after doing factory reset, it still not work. But sometimes after shutting down for 1 hour it works. I don't think you've ever used a xiaomi device before, have you? Xiaomi's MIUI ROM is very different and requires one to get used to it and its settings and configuration. Like your whatsapp problem, it might be because MIUI is blocking the notification from appearing (they do thatby default for all apps for some reason idk why). If it is there issue, then Security>Permissions>Other permissions (2nd tab)>Display pop up window

I too bought this phone intact recently got it on my birthday last week. From the beginning it has started showing me signs with which i can conclude this phone won't last even a year. My WhatsApp didn't work properly even after rebooting. Call logs are with poor functioning, they have a long procedure to call someone, as if at times of emergency,time is gonna wait for this shitty phone. Notifications of some apps show problem specially Watspp. Motherboard just doesn't stops predicting. Screenshot technique is useless, i hd to download a special app to take screenshots. And the list goes on. It's not even a week that I have recieved the phone and it has disappointed me badly. I won't say do not buy this phone but i would request the producers to make each phone as the best piece. Hire some educated engineers to make phones. Your every piece should be complete, complain free and best. Thank you so much mum and dad fort gifting me this phone and thank you so much xiaomi redmi for disheartening me.

Just got mine and been using it for like 2 weeks now. Everything works great battery life can stand for a day, also includes many great features and smooth UI. Some problems i had encountered having this phone is that it's so slippery that's why I really recommend buying case for it to lessen the chance of dropping it, also the device heats up really fast when you're using mobile data or when you put it to charge. By the way the back is made of metal hence most of the time when I touch it while being charge I can feel static.

Yeah dude...42 degrees temp. max on this phn I have found..particularly GPU falls terribly during heat.. Actually weather fact..during hot weather condition phn gets hot faster bt during cool weather this phn doesn't heat anymore and doesn't lag anymore..when I play heavy games like asphalt 8, modern combat 5 at cool weather phn temp. gets maximum 38-37 degrees even playing 2 hours with smooth performance.. That's why hot weather is bad for this phn particularly heavy gaming.. Otherwise it doesn't suffer from heat..

i think GSMarena should include the max temperature of each phone that they will review when they run AnTuTu and other benchmarking tools.. heating affects the performance of a GPU and CPU a lot, so i think it will be helpfull for us to know the temperature of a certain phone that we are planning to buy..

This has something to do with the maximum usable area of the sensor.. This is true to most smartphones. To get 13mp, you need the 1:1 or 4:30 aspect ratio since those are practically square and uses most of the sensor surface area.. If u use 16:9 aspect ratio or other rectangular shape, u get only 8mp

Hey yea bright greenish pixels mean dead pixels which means that they stay like that forever and you need to get a replacement for that phone I did it as well that goes for all products and it seems that xiaomi has horrible quality assurance as I have gotten a completely defective phone (quick battery drain even without using the phone, a dead pixel, constant stuttering and the repair shop told me they were (xiaomi) able to somehow install a completely wrong rom which I can confirm because it didn't even come out it's half of their apps, so I charged my money back and gotten the same phone from another shop but from another country and this time no dead pixels, performance is nice but the battery is still horrible it lasts as much as an iPhone 6s, I had to charge it 2 times in 24 hours I get only about 5 hours on screen time and it charges for 3 fing hours so I'm sending it back again and demanding a replacement and if they can't get a replacement I'm charging the cash back and going off to another shop........

Perhaps you can try posting your issues on the MIUI forum. Likely will ask you to flash a global rom as it seems you bought a phone with Chinese rom since you do not have google play store etc. You may need to side load these as well. The details are in the forum on how to do it. Good luck.

Just got the new Redmi Note 4 (64GB+4GB) yesterday and spent half my day setting up the phone and transferring all of data to it. That's depends. Till now i've found two different vendors for the screen. (But sorry, I forgot their names). One vendor is as you say yellowish even it wasn't in reading mode, while the other is normal. I think it's depends on what production batch you're getting. I've got the bit yellowish one. Actually it wasn't that bad though. I used my phone for lots of reading and i found the screen easier on the eyes.

I bought the 3gb/64gb version from directd. Its an AP set and updated to global rom 8.0.4.0 (with Google gapps). Its excellent value for money, nicely built metal case and fast helio x20 processor. Overall a good buy but miui 8 has some issues where it freezes if you use the phone during charging near to 100%. I'm been using for a week and so far its mostly very smooth n lag free. Also do not install beta version of Google search. It will cause video stuttering and freezes the device. Overall its an excellent device at budget price.

Its a decent phone, good hardware n specs with helio x20 processor. Build quality is awesome for the price. However the global rom miui 8 has some issues. Its very smooth and lag free but sometimes freezes when used while charging and at times while viewing videos. After uninstalling the beta test version of Google search and reverting to the stable version, the stuttering is gone but it still freezes while used during charging especially when its almost 100% charged. Xiaomi may have a patch soon. Apart from this, the device is excellent value for money. Maybe the snapdragon chip won't have this issue?

My helio x20 redmi note 4 on miui 8.0.4.0 global rom sometimes stutters and freezes. This happen sometimes while charging and used and while viewing videos. It heats up and freezes/hangs with high battery drain and requires power button to shut down. Most times its very smooth and lag free (when its not freezing up). I guess miui 8 is still a bit unstable.

Does not matter which s better. I own a note 4 and works very good. What does matter is if there is a repair shop in your neighbourhood which can fix your phone when things go wrong. A cc Iain they can fix everywhere. But a leco....Bern there owned an oukitel. And no-one was able to fix it. Do not underestimate this thing.

I did an experiment on the battery. My old sim card only uses 3g and the battery drains 4%-5% (wifi, mobile data and sync turned off) in 5 hours while i am asleep... It compares well against the Yureka that I owned previously. Only two things - feels a bit heavier and the camera though both are 13 MGP the Yureka seemed sharper. Maybe i need to fix some settings. Any guidance on that. Otherwise Redmi seems more sassy and cool look and feel and interaction wise. On tip to Redmi - if they you find a way to sync through blue tooth that could be an easy way to transfer data from phone to phone.

Good phone. Previous phone oukitel k10000. Oukitl had better battery but vedry bad buildquality ..problems started after 3 months. screen broke restarts and all kinds of stuff. Very bad phone but idea was good because it was quick enough and batgtgery was very very fgood.. Now the note 4.. is better buildquality works bit faster and does all i want a phone to do. Czamera bit yellowish but i fixed that by changing white balance. now ok.. This would be a prefect phone if they but a 6000 maw battery in it or more. battey is ok... lasts certainly one day ..but not really good. My wife has a note 3 pro and that phone is equally good and battery life about the same. We are not into socs and chips and snapdragon or mediatek and the phone is very good indeed. About screen also good you can only see the difference if you hold one phone next to an other. Kinda useless screen is good. Camera is also good about the same as my wifes note 3 pro. We do not notice any difference in soc snapdragon or mediatek.. for normal users useless. This phone could be the mother of all phones if they put a 6000 or more mmaw battery in it. Seems the manufacturers do not get is. Soc snapdraghon etc useless for normal users. If the phone weights more with big battery i do not care. Some other features i do not even use ...like fingerprint scanner or ir blaster. no need.. useless. BATTERY!!! By the way my oukitel had a "slow" mediatek soc and even that was certainly fast enough for me. I do not play games and i do not even want to know what asphalt is. Antutu i even care less. As long as i can call internet whatsapp and the battery is ok and screen descent all is fne with me.

For the most part, AliExpress is quite a reputable site and sells genuine products, specifically, they do sell original xiaomi phones. But, assuming you're from india, why would you buy mediatek when you can get the snapdragon version? I know it's bit of a hassle buying through flash sale but it's worth it.

Be it in light or not, a low light is a low light, if you're not really close to the stage and you don't need to zoom in then you're going to have trouble focussing or capturing detail, even so you would normally need a larger aperture of f1.8 and a good lens for low light performance. Based on my experience, these mid range phones aren't really meant for low light.

More weight is due sturdier metal construction. Battery has been improved from 4030 mah to 4100mah. From what I've seen on reviews, it's suppose to have better camera. Snapdragon 625 is a relatively capable chip. Sure it may not be on par with snapdragon 650 but it doesn't differ by much and you won't notice much difference between the two. Also snapdragon 625 has also been constructed with 14nanometer technology, so this means you should get better battery life. Now i would say that if you have redmi note 3 then you need not upgrade to Redmi note 4, not because Redmi note4 is bad or anything but simply because there isn't much difference between the two.

I have this phone amd it's a good one. It performs fast, the display is good and so far, i have not experienced issues with it. Mine has the global rom. But the only downside is the camera. I had a huawei honor 4c before with the same camera specs but it beats the camera on my rm note 4... On daylight photos are sharp but on low light, it might make you cringe...

This phone is quite a step back from Note, instead of trying to improve the bezels, it's a bit taller and heavier... The camera lost 3mp and gained no OIS or bigger pixel or aperture. Battery endurance reduced. The new chip and GPU Combe will not have that great support from game developers. The note series was a value for money, but now has lost the plot, one should rather pick note 3

I don't understand your point, this very phone is already in retail in most of EU countries. Yes it is budget phone with decent hardware, but as same as with almost all Chinese phones it has serious problems with software bugs. In general there is something about Android 6 what is troubling Chinese developers. I have had similar experience with Lenovo A7010 after update to Android 6. There is something about time sync which is so hard to comprehend for Chinese developers of note 4, but it is not only bug I saw, the list is becoming as large as time is passing. Yes some say there is global ROM that fixes all the issuee, but the key question is do we want to even think about bugs and fixes, phone should work flawlessly no matter what. I am really disappointed and after Lenovo A7010 and Note 4 i Will never ever buy any Chinese phone.

All Xiaomi devices have f*cked up encryption, function exists but it doesn't work. I think it has something to do with permissions manager or some other software conflict.

They make 2 versions. One with the Snapdragon and one with the Meditek. Now I have a feeling this is a mistake bit they have the Mediatek one listed and world phone (GSM / CDMA / HSPA / EVDO / LTE) and the Snapdrgon variant as Erop-Asia only. (GSM / HSPA / LTE) . Usually the Snapdragon variant of any phone comes to the USA/Canada. The would be the CDMA Version.

11 grams heavier (175) than the Redmi Note 3 (164) not a lot but a worrying trend. Where are we going with smartphone bulk? Will all phones be over 200 grams in a couple of years? I thought that the Redmi Note 3 was a bit heavy at 164 grams. My benchmark is the LG G3 at only 149 grams. A 5.5 inch phone shouldn't be more than 160 grams max to be as comfortable as possible to hold for any length of time, say when reading an e-book. Xiaomi has been bad for this recently with all their most recent phones being heavier than their immediate predecessors.

No doubt its a value for money phone at 13K. Lenovo should have priced both P2 models 2K less respectively. Lenovo P2 vs Redmi Note 4 (almost similar spec) Main disadvantage is 32GB vs 64GB internal storage in note 4 at lesser price. Advantages of investing 5K more. 1. Brand. Lenovo is a better & popular (2 line mobile) brand atleast in India having brands like Motorola and other electronic products as compared to lesser known brand Xiaomi even though Xiaomi sell more than other top big popular mobile brands. 2. Battery. 5100mah vs 4100mah. Exactly 1000 mah more makes quite a lot of difference. 3. Display - Super Amoled vs IPS....again more power efficient & better display lpus ultra smooth touch..also looks premium. 4. Reverse Charging. 5. Quick / Rapid Charger 6. NFC 7. Both have same abv avg camera spec but Lenovo P2 will b better than Redmi Note 4 for normal user and conditions. (most redmi phones cams r just avg / bad) 8. Very premium build quality than note 4. P2 doesnt look like a budget smartphone from any angle. Also feels gud in hand. 9. Even with 1000mah more battery slimmer (8.3mm vs 8.45mm) and just 12 grams more than note 4. 10. Front finger print scanner which is actually useful when we start using it. also convenient when we keep the phone on a flat surface Overall Redmi Note 4 is a value for money budget package but Lenovo P2 has its own strength and class. P2 is a more premium phone than Note 4 in many ways. Purchased Lenovo P2 on launch itself. Planning to buy Redmi Note 4 for wife (not very sure though)

It has got good specifications. Truly the Winner. I will compare it with many others. Just have look-- At Rs. 13,000 Redmi Note 4 has been launched with 4 GB RAM---------------lenovo P2 has 3 Gb RAM...for 4 GB RAM you have to spend another 1000. Yunicorn has got similar RAM and similar price and it delivers...so it will compete with it. K5 note also got same but poor on battery and ROM. 64 GB ROM------------Lenovo P2 has 32 GB ROM.... plus the price of 16000 and 17000. Yunicorn has got 32 GB RAM. K5 note also got 32GB ROM. So again Redmi is winner. Same processor as Lenovo P2- Snapdragon 625 but again price ???? too much for P2. Yunicorn- Mediatek Helio P10 which is older than Snapdragon 625 and also 625 performs better in Battery section. K5 Note has also got Mediatek Helio P10. Same camera as Lenovo P2- 13+5 MP Yunicorn and K5 Note also same camera. K5 note has got better selfie camera but that does not performs too excellent. So not much competition. Only Part is battery where P2 excels .....But again Who has to give Rs. 4000/- or 5000/- extra just for 1000 MAH extra battery and also suffer the loss of 32 GB extra ROM. Others have lesser battery than Redmi Note 4. So we see in all the major departments Redmi is clear winner. Anybody will choose extra ROM compared to extra Battery that too at cheaper price. Lenovo....you will have to re-invent your marketing and pricing policy. MI is the ultimate winner.

Megapixels are not everything ,note 3 had a poor camera with focusing issues but note 4 has a better widely used(same as mi 4) camera sensor and rest will be decided by true hands-on review.
