Acer Liquid Jade Primo - User Reviews

  • 2019 - Don't get swindled into buying this phone. The specs are outstanding as far as a computer or phone goes, but the OS is not fully supported. If you apply any updates to this old phone, some functionality goes away( a.k.a. no more phone.) Microsoft has abandoned this O.S. Also, the "selling point" of using your Microsoft Office apps are a lie. You get next to no functionality off the bat and are supposed to pay for the "full" versions. What a rip off. They want you to be able to pair with your desktop via the dock but you have to buy the same software twice? Acer & Microsoft are good brands; but, the combination in this apllication (mobile phone) is an overall fail.

  • I wish this phone ran Android instead. Could have been a really decent phone.

  • No it isn't. I've seen a lot better.

  • the camera is extraordinary!

  • Not a good choice. I've bought it when it became cheaper (about half of initial price cca 550eur) but it isn't worth it... It uses the first build of WM10 with no more updates. Very bad camera. And the final drop - it's not working in LTE (european model in europe). So I've returned it to seller and bought L950...

  • Although Acer is not passing on updates, you can install Anniversary Update 14393 series manually using microsoft's iutool.exe : google "windowscentral iutool offline" - a bit fiddly and requires a PC... in fact Windows updates are non-hardware specific, like on PCs so better long term than relying on slow phone makers or 'dangerous' Android custom roms. Overall a superb feel to phone (fast, light, good screen); instead of apps you often need to browse to sites but convenient "tiles" can be set up for favorite sites: apps can fail or get out of date more quickly that websites.

  • Your can install Anniversary Update via Windows Insider

  • Still the best camera out there. The only mistake of Acer is to stick with Windows operating system. I wonder where they are now.

  • It's available unlocked at Amazon for just $275.

  • This phone is worthless, it never received Windows 10 Mobile Anniversary update and won't receive creators update either. My Alcatel Idol 4S Windows received both of those updates. This phone is absolute junk.

  • 2870mah Battery on a 5.5" screen??

  • But this phone is indeed cheaper than Lumia 950. It costs $250 on Amazon complete with desktop kit. That's pretty cheaper than Lumia 950.

  • Acer Boss: Gentleman we want to make an excellent Windows 10 Mobile device, have y'all got any ideas. Employee 1: Let us put a small 2870mAh battery and a big 5.5 inch display. Employee 2: Let us delay the release date of the phone till the specs become old and outdated. Employee 3: Let us use a camera that is inferior to Lumia 950's camera. Employee 4: Let us make the phone cheaper than Lumia 950. *Boss stares at Employee 4 angrily and kicks him out through the office window.*

  • Even I love Windows 10 Mobile but I would still say that this phone ain't worth buying.

  • No it's not locked to T-Mobile, I bought it from their store, it's factory unlocked. However you would still need to pay $25 for the mandatory SIM and go through the SIM activation process even if you don't want to use it. For the low price of $288 they're charging for the device I would say extra $25 is pretty nominal.

  • At first even I was going to buy this device but then I went for Alcatel Idol 4S Windows which was available at just $288 from T-Mobile store, oddly enough it was factory unlocked. But even though it was factory unlocked and I was free to use any SIM I like with it still then T-Mobile made me pay through my nose for their SIM, they charged $25 for their mandatory SIM and I had to go through the whole SIM activation process, but still I would say it was worth the pain because the features that I got with the Alcatel for a total price of $313 are leagues ahead of this device. Of course I don't use the T-Mobile SIM and I just put my AT&T and Verizon SIM in my Alcatel.

  • I love this phone despite all of hate,I would still want to have it, the design is perfect 👌

  • It's finally available unlocked at Microsoft Store.

  • Now Liquid Jade Primo bundle (with dock, keyboard and mouse) on Boxing Day sale at Microsoft store at C$399. Despite of price, I prefer 950XL (I bought it on Pre-Christmas sale with the same price) Because 1. Acer Liquid Jade Primo has less LTE bands supported. (Not so good for World Traveler) 2. Acer Liquid Jade Primo has limitation for 2 SIMs or 1 SIM and 1 Micro SD Card. Yes, I touched/tested both in my hands at the store, I felt somewhat Acer unit appears to be cheap, doesn't fit right in my palm. Regardless, I don't need another cheap keyboard and mouse.

  • It's dual-SIM, you can use another SIM in the second slot. Or you can go for the off-contract option while buying it and pay one time sum of $469.99, that way you would be able to buy it unlocked. However T-Mobile would still make you pay $20 extra for their SIM which would increase the overall price to $489, but still it isn't that pricey either. About the SIM, well you are free to either use it or give it to any of your family member or just throw it away, giving away $20 extra isn't that big issue.

  • However, the Alcatel is only on T-Mobile

  • As of now the Alcatel Idol 4S Windows 10 edition which is powered by a way more powerful Snapdragon 820 processor, has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB of storage costs just $20 more than this device. And its build quality is leagues ahead of this phone and it ships with VR bundle. Of course it doesn't ship with Continuum dock but one can easily buy it for $99. This phone is literally destined to fail in the market because it's completely outgunned by other Windows 10 Mobile phones.

  • Even if it costs same as XL with accessories but XL still a better choice as it has more powerful Snapdragon 810 processor, better camera with Carl-Zeiss optics, bigger and higher resolution screen and bigger battery. I see no reason why would anyone go for this device instead of XL.

  • You are right but this one is as big as the XL, so you shoud be comparing it to the XL

  • But disone has de display port included, in 950XL it was an additional purchase, all in all once you factor in the accessories the price on both are even

  • And it costs more than Lumia 950. Lol! at $50 extra one can buy a Lumia 950 XL. No one with his brain in right place is going to buy this phone.

  • I could be interested in obtaining this device for discounted price if not terrible design. It reminds me old Galaxy S3... Big soap bar.

  • Maybe it could have been, but it has the lousy, power draining 808 and a not too big 2800 mAh battery. Not that good for a high-end device. :-/

  • Still lower than Lumia 950, it's just as I said, no one is going to buy this phone because of its price. The Lumia 950 costs lesser than this device.

  • Wow windows 10 mobile ? Awesome ! Better than androlag

  • 14 hrs talk time, 8 hrs browing , 12 hrs video

  • 2800 mAH only....????

  • The rate of this device is shocking, one can get a Carl Zeiss camera prepared Lumia 950 at a lesser rate than this device. pay for my research paper

  • Better wait for HP Elite X3 instead of buying this device, or just go for Lumia 950, it's better than this device and available at a lower price.

  • The price of this device is outrageous, one can get a Carl Zeiss camera equipped Lumia 950 at a lower price than this device. Although I've to say that build quality of this phone is better than Lumia 950 but still then people would obviously go for a Lumia device, especially when it's cheaper than this device. I don't want to sound like a prick but this phone is an epic failure in the market due to its high price tag.

  • No

  • Is there an iris Scanner here in Jade Primo??

  • Windows phone market decreasing day by day and Windows phone still available at higher prices in the market .

  • Phone available to order from Microsoft store website

  • Specs are not so bad. The device should work fine. The best part of this mobile phone is its camera. It's camera quality is really good and far better than most of the devices in current market, even than the costlier ones. You won't be disappointed with its picture quality. If you love playing games, prefer devices with Qualcomm 820 processor and Adreno 4xx or 5xx graphics.

  • Hard to see that flagship phone in Malaysia. I will pass and get myself a Lumia 950 XL. Currently using Lumia 535 and planning t trade in to Lumia 950 XL. No Android for me because it change so quickly from OS to newer OS and too many choices.

  • Specs, specs, specs, How boring is that? I think the failure is not because of the specs but the OS. Windows 10 Mobile is such a failure, not even with the most current "specs" works well.

  • When it is available in Iran?

  • Lol! They released it so late that the specs are all old now. No wonder this phone gonna be a epic failure. Seriously Acer should fire its marketing heads.

  • Is this smartphone available in ksa dammam, and where and what name of the store

  • Phone has an awesome display

  • It will have better quality in good lighting because there is more pixels. But that all falls apart when the light gets low.

  • Does it have OIS feature?

  • sharp photos! i compared this to the S7 down to 3MP and this Acer still shows better.

  • Very interested to have this phone. But I heard it will only be sold to businesses bundled with a docket and a small LCD screen? That will drive the price quite high so I hope they don't do that. Nothing wrong with offering it in a bundle for those who are interested as long as they also sell it as a stand-alone device.

  • A 2016 flagship (price group 9/10!!!) with Qualcomm Snapdragon 808?!? Well... I could understand that for LG G4 or Moto X Style, 2015 flagships, but this one??? Don't know if it's worth the price...

  • I love windows phones, but I can find one that I would actually buy. Specs are either too low along with a very low price, or specs are med/high with a top-tier priced phone. I will not, at least for now, spend $750+ on a phone with an uncertain platform, and I do not want to carry a below-par phone with me. I would like to see a near $300 phone with Snapdragon 650 or Snapdragon 808 with 2-3GB RAM and Windows Phone. Xiaomi has the Mi4c selling @ around $220 with this setup. Why can't Microsoft contract them to build phones? I would think MS needs all the chances it can have to survive and thrive. That been said, I wonder what this phone will cost. given the sate of the market, I would maybe be willing to spend around $350 for this Acer (given the AMOLED screen), and maybe $400 if the continuum dock is bundled... I hope it will happen :)

  • Wow these guys still haven't released the phone yet. This is the very reason Acer phones never sell well. Even if they release it now I doubt anyone would buy this phone unless it is priced extremely low. Kudos to the marketing heads of Acer, they indeed take cluelessness to a completely different level.

  • It's announced almost 6 months ago and still not available.

  • great smartphone in window OS but to more picture clear get to be more big resolution

  • i hope to be more pixel to do clear picture

  • This phone is quite well specced and good to see now Windows Phone user'll have options too. But the major question still remains that when is Acer going to release this phone? If priced correctly this phone has the potential to take the market by storm and I see it as a good Windows powered competitor to phones like LG V10, Nexus 6P and Xperia Z5, provided they release it in right time, because if they will further delay the release then by the time it will be released the specs will be bland compared to its competitors.

  • This is a great phone I love acer its normal and formal, I have an acer Loptop

  • Windows 10 do best on 1GB RAM (and still a bit compatible with 512MB RAM), but not the Continuum feature which require more RAM, more CPU, and more GPU (everything will be super laggy on continuum mode if it only have 1GB RAM) (Different to Ubuntu that requires 1GB RAM for Convergence and 512MB RAM for normal usage)

  • 1 GB is perfectly workable for any Win 8.1 Phone - I have used the Lumia 920, 535, 635 and the BLU Win HD LTE. They are all 1 GB, they are all wonderful Phones, better than most of the 'Lagdroids' flooding the marketplace!! I too wish the Acer Phone is affordable - especially since, like the Lumia 950s and upcoming Surface Phone, it supports Windows Continuum! I also hope it has 4G Support in the TDD & FDD Frequencies and Dual SIM Support! If so, I'll shift to the Acer. Else, will wait for the Surface Phone...

  • Does this have glance screen? Qi charging?

  • 1gb ram is enough to bit android 's 2gb ram phone. Im using Lumia 830 and it is faster & lagfree than sony xperia m4 the 2gb phone... Just imagine about the 3gb ram windows phone..... Windows just. Flies on it. Real world. Performance. Windows is better than android. You can trust me..!!!

  • why do you tell amoled if acer showed it as a superamoled?

  • i hope it will be at affordable price

  • i hope it will be at affordable price

  • You think 1 Gb ram is not enough ?? Which means you never tried a windows phone❗ That's enough man, it is windows , first use then comment

  • Yes, more is better but Windows phone runs very well with "only" 1GB, unlike Androids that only runs well with 2 or 3 GB.

  • i bet this will be very expensive

  • About time to release this phone, Acer...

  • This is going to be a really flagship killer. Lumias are really expensive or they outdated. Like 640. Who uses 1 gb of RAM nowadays? I think 2 gb is perfect. 3 is even better. And knowing Acer from Android devices the price tag will not be that high (hopefully).

  • i am waiting in this mobile enjay Typed with Panini Keypad
