Hello, I bought my acer liquid metal 2 years ago. Actually, there are only a few games which it does not support. (Mostly from GLU developers) Even after 2 yrs, it supports most of the apps in the Play Store. Recently I have had some trouble with the Capacitive buttons on my phone. Can someone tell me where I can get my phone repaired? I cant find a acer service center for phones. They deal only with Laptops and tablets now. Can someone point me in the right direction. This phone is so stupid it won't let me update facebook and other apps, the app store only gives me a few select games that fit my phone and that all suck. The phone comes with like 40 pre loaded apps that can't be deleted so that takes up all you're space. You can only get one game and if you want a different game you have to get rid of the game you have to get the new game. So I'm never getting this phone again.

TO Clear your memory, go to Settings --> Applications --> Manage Applications --> All. Here go to any application. Say "Browser". Click on that and then click on "Clear Data". Similarly you can go in other Apps and delete data which you no longer use. This will free up lot of your phone space. Also in this option it will allow you to move your App to Memory Card. Once it is moved to memory card lot of your space is cleared on phone memory. Hope this helps.

Hi, i have this phone, i bought it for 100 eur. nice phone, good camera, good sound in headphones, good speed, but the display isn-t good at all.if it is dirty it won-t work, if it is wet, it won-t work and push it self just by touching your face, even if the phone is close to you and the screen is shut down. the biggest problem is the fact that the phone is shutting down by it self, it restarts, but the worst is that this happens even during a call. the battery is good, 4 days with wi-fi and stuff.i don-t suggest to buy this phone.

Hi Shail, I believe there is no way to get any spare for Liquid metal. You will not get any spare in India. Acer mobiles does not have any market share in India, it is just a use and throw thing. Think well, Acer could not provide service for their own product within 18 months after a product launch. So it is waste of time to search for some other external spare suppliers. From this we could see that how much Acer is good enough. In my life Acer is the only worst company I have ever seen in terms of after sales service. Learnt a lesson after wasting hard earned money. I my life I will never buy an Acer product.

Take atmost care before going for Acer products they are way behind in providing service. After buying an Acer product you are on your own risk. The company is not very keen in even supplying spares. My experience with Acer S120 was really really bad in terms of service. Atlast learnt a lesson after a big hole in my pocket from an Acer product. I would suggest, look at all the options before going for Acer products. They are only interested in selling a product and not in providing some kind of service after sale. Here in India it is very much worst indeed. From my experience I found that they do not know even basic business ethics but at some cost.

I bought this mobile 18 months back. It was simply great after OS upgrade. All of a sudden on one day the phone devoleped a problem in its display, then I took it to nearest Acer service center. After a week I got a call from them and I was really shocked to hear the response from them. They asked me thow the phone in trash since they have stopped the support for Acer phones. Its just only six months after my Warranty period. so just think of Acer's responsibility in providing after sales service. Think well before going for Acer products because there are so many better options available. My personal advice is never ever go for Acer product.

yes it does, i have used it before and it worked magic, the only prob is that u have to turn the fone around from time to tym so that person can see your face through the back camera. you can hear and talk and both can hear each other's voice, this phone works wonders just like a proper laptop!

Try putting earphone in 3.5mm jack. If it works and if u cud listen than there is no problem. Remove it and try again. Then it shud work.

I bought this phone 11 months ago and it has had all different problems. First was the memory because the phone has 125mb when you first get it. second problem was the battery because it was running out in 10 hours sleep mode. i was charging the phone properly.last problem is not receiving calls or texts when it had full bars. Not happy with the phone and it cant even do basic tasks well.

Change some settings. like change screen out time, which ideally should be 30 secs. Initially battery will drain out because we do not realise but we use phone a lot for R&D. But 10 hrs is short time. Mine works for almost 1.5 to 2 days after using for calls / msgs / chat and browsing.

I bought this phone a week ago. I think this was a last piece available in Pune market. As I checked in lot of stores but they are out of stock as they say production is stopped for this phone. I had checked reviews of this phone on GSM ARENA and after good scrutiny bought this phone. First hand experience. 1. This Phone is very neatly designed. It fits your palm properly. You can operate it with one hand without worrying about phone falling of your hand. I tried Samsung S2 which my friends have, but dont know why but i was not comfortable with such a big screen. 2. Battery Life is good. Around 2 days with normal browsing, calls, messages. 3. Processor is good and quick. Though it is 800 MHZ one should not forget it is 2nd generation processor which is fast (Not lightening fast Though). 4. Android 2.2 Froyo is good. I tried updating it with 2.3 Gingerberd but could not do it. Dont know why? 5. Display - With 16 Million colours and 259 ppi, display of the phone is very clear. Watched few movies and experience was amazing. 6. What you get in box - One Cell Phone, One Battery, One 2 GB Micro SD Card, One SD Card Adapter, One wire which can be used for charging and connecting to PC, One neat/decent Mobile cover, One ear phone set, phone manuals, warranty card. 7. Price for this phone is Rs.11,500/- in Pune. 8. Display on the top of the phone is very useful. In this one week i have realised that i do not have to take out the phone from its cover to check whether there is a miss call or unread message. This phone have display to show whether you have a miss call or unread message. Very handy i would say. 9. Phone is heavy though. With all the Metal in it this phone becomes heavy. But with metal all around you get the rich look, unlike some samsung/nokia phone which have plastic covers. 10. Camera quality is OK. Do not expect much from it. 11. Browsing speed is ok. 12. Earphone quality is OK. Not that good. Buy a nice earphone if you are a music lover. 13. Internal Memory should be more. 512 MB though mentioned, actual memory to use is quite less. :-( Overall for 11.5K this is a very nice phone with amazing clarity and the required features.

no possibility. i have that acer with Android 2.3.6 and we can only download a launcher of our choice. i do it continuosly when im bored of seeing the same homescreen, but at the end i find always the acer UI most usefull. i hope that helped you :)

all android phones (top android phones like galaxy S or similar not) have really poor internal memory. i have this acer and thats the only thing i hate of it, but that problem have all android phones. even samsung nexus S , that it saids it has 16 GB internal storage it has "only" 1 (1 GB is quite an amount of space for apps).i dont know why all android manufacturers make their phones with such poor memory, and why android apps, most of them, dont let install them into the SD card,or only can move there part of it.thats mistake of the manufacturers of course, but of the android software and its app-developers too.if they find the way to install apps directly on the SD card, no more problems with the internal storage.With symbian for example all apps can be installed directly on the SD card...and android is suposed to be better than symbian ,so... (i had a symbian before the acer)

Is your card SD or SDHC as i have not seen any specs list it is SDHC compatable although i have seen SD up to 32GB on some reviews. I only used the 2GB SD card that came with the phone and had no problems. Hope you find the solution to your problem as the phone is good to use.

Check card is in correctly first of course, Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > "Select App" (not all apps move to SD card)> Move to SD card. Turn off phone, turn on phone and memory should come flooding back.

Crap phone, should of bought another for the same amount i paid. it can't move apps to the memory card. i have an 16gb card in the phone, i download 4 apps and i am out of memory. the phone keeps checking for updates to the OS. I am well sure telstra will not waste their time with updates on this. on all 3rd party apps, it will hang and then reset the app. makes the need to re-open the app again. On paper the phone had better specs than the HTC wildfire S.. the HTC shits all over this. I should of bought it instead.

It originally came with Android 2.2, but there has since been official updates to 2.3. The latest version is 2.3.6. You can check your Android version by going into; Settings>About Phone. If there is no update option in that menu, then you can get the latest version from the acer websites (just do a Google search for "acer liquid metal 4.000.13" (without the quotes)).

The Dolby Mobile is awesome when used with certain headphones. The ones the come as standared with the phone are ok, but not the best. I found the ones that came with my htc desire are perfect and I had to play around and adjust the equilizer settings to get the ultimate sound experience. When you get the right headphones then the sound from the phone is superb, but remember that the equilizer is also your friend.

This phone has the option to allow you to share mp4s via facebook straight from the media player, but I can't see an option for file transfer of songs via bluetooth, so I downloaded 'bluetooth file transfer' from the marketplace. Also another thing to add, is that on the default browser, you can choose weather you want mobile or desktop view for web pages.

Even though the phone gets off the led light keeps blinking . animesh_10 the only solution i have found is to put in charge during night times so that i don't miss my alarm or calls !

that is true.. i bought one two weeks ago and put the incorrect SIM unlock code in 10 times.. it is now a brick no option to enter codes anymore tried every possible way of putting on a custom rom - all failed every single thing i have read for the last two weeks from google searches just don't work also there is no file manager as standard which is a silly i jumped into trying to root/rom it to fast when all i needed to do was a system update via the : about phone menu

you can free up lots of space if you use titanium backup (paid version) to remove unwanted system app (acer stuff, etc.) AND integrate updates into rom. The updates of maps, gmail, market, flash etc are eating up huge amounts of the user app storage. Flash takes up ~17mB alone. Not sure if any other apps can do this successfully, but I can confirm that the full version of titanium backup works great.

For those complaining about the memory partitioning, root your phone and install Link2sd. Now you can install all the apps you want to your sd card. Enjoy your $128 phone, it's a little ripper!

Great phone for AU$128. I just wish it had more space to store apps. Even with root access, you still cannot free up much space - but you cannot expect too much at this price point. For those who want to know how to root/flash/unlock this phone, Google "acer liquid metal whirlpool" to find the thread on the Australian whirlpool forums.

Needs memory partition updated. 2.3.5 takes up another 17mb of user space over 2.2 what with Flash 11 etc leaving even less for apps. Deleting some apps and reinstalling the latest version fresh without all the updates has helped a little (Google+ came down about 10MB) but could do with a bit more space on next ROM update as i guess 2.3 is likely to be the last big OS update.

Ok, so I'k getting used to the keyboard now. Another thing to note, is that the touchscreen is what I consider true multitouch. By that I mean that the screen recognises more than two touch points at once. The htc desire for example would register no more than two fingers at any one time on the screen. This will allow for more than two, which is ideal for games.

Great little android phone. Although it's only an 800 mhz processor, it is fast enough to run games like Need For Speed Drift without any issues. The dolby mobile sounds awesome once you set the equilizer. Obviously ths supports flash player, and it works without problems. Horrible inacurate keyboard for big fingers though.

Did you load the battery to the exat full. The batterylife also depends what mode you are using like 2G or 3G. The brighness of the display is important also. If it is in high brightness it will shurely drain battery. Also if there is even one app running in background it will drain battery. Be shure to always close every app you use. I mean realy close and not just put out of sight.

I loved this fon the first few months.I'm in africa and the fon heats so bad especially wen charging. It goes off itself after overheating. You can not use it more than 1 year, maybe if you are in Africa. You have to carry your USB cord everywhere you go. I loved it but I have to put it down

The specifications say there is no radio. There wasn't. Just patched my phone today and now there is a Full spec FM radio with RDS, recording and Gracenote audio identification. Even the overall performance, fonts and camera seems to have improved. Superb phone: 10/10!

i got this phone for a few days and i must say this is a nice smart phone, it's supported flash animation in web browser, the preinstall apps are running fast and smooth, i like the notification led light at top of the phone, FM radio may not come when you purchase it, but you'll have it after upgraded the ROM (AAP.GEN2)!

It has RADIO now, go update your firmware via Acer's support site! I'm from Asia (Malaysia), just finished updated to the latest firmware(gen2) and it has got RADIO with it plus overall is much much more smoother and zippier than before. Good luck guys!

Got d Metal today, very very nice indeed! Dont mean to offend others but it's just my own personal review, it is better than my previous Milestone and X10i in term of sound quality and also overall performances. Acer this time really did well. With such price, such specs, such quality and overall, it is a very worth phone. New UI = New experiences. Love the recent apps shortcuts and also the side-way sliding menu. cant feel any lag at all altho it is just 800mhz. only down side is the internal memory, only left around 103-105mb for user's apps installation. and also, camera is poor compare to Milestone and X10i(the best camera in android range) but well, good for emergency use anyhow :) hopefully my short review able to help as guide/references for those who're interested with Liquid Metal :)

Tired waiting for this phone. Acer cheat customer, they said Liquid E will get froyo in November, but until now, there is nothing. And they said Liquid Metal will available at November, but there is nothing too. I think they are overwhelmed to develop Froyo for their devices, so everything is delayed for Froyo.

your correct about that but the AMOLED still has broblems (eg, if inconatact iwth moisture/water, ther screen will be damnaged and also is more subject to screen burn and waring out) But still,. the colours on a AMOLED ar way better than a typical LCD

Aye looks to have sold out pretty quick and the comments were mostly very positive. Just need to find out when it will be released in the UK....news has dried up and no new info...Acer UK have even pulled it off their product listings and pulled the news feed that said it would be available in November...leaving everyone in the dark. I would buy it from France....if it has the right 3G frequencies I require: 850, 1900 and 2100MHz, but it is proving difficult to find that out.

Dude what are you talking about? That's the main downside of LCD, that when you want black there is still light so you get like grey-black. Amoled can give real black. I don't have a preference for amoled/lcd, but what you are saying is wrong..

I need a new android phone that will work with 3G in both the UK and the USA...if these spec's are true then that will be the case. I currently use 2100 on the three network here in the UK. However I will be re-locating to the USA next year and wish to use their AT&T network which uses 850 and 1900. I am worried that Acer might simply release the UK version with only 900, 1900 and 2100.....anyone know if this will be the case?

Hey NOOB! Amoled is miles ahead of TFT, unless that is you want to go back 6 years in technology. All mobile phone screens are useless in direct sun, so the test in the video is bogus. Amoled is clearer, brighter and crisper than TFT too.

I was video calling in Croatia in 2006, then on my Sony Ericsson... We stopped using it because it's not practical in most everyday situations, not because of technology. Apple is amazing at selling old crap to Apple freaks. I have to give it to them tough, iPhone 4 is technologically now up there with other much more advanced brands. About this Acer, i like it. I would prefer an AMOLED screen and maybe as big as 4 inches, but other than that i can see it as my next replacement phone when my contract expires.

NAM release??? its much faster than Liquid E new chip-set is more efficient lower battery use, cooler running...I have a liquid e that has been overclocked to 960 and honestly 768 to 960...not much difference..... REAL advantage here will be a 1500mh battery and a more efficient chip-set My Liquid E has 2.2 running on it now YOU can change from Acer UI to stock Vanilla or even run the Acer UI with ADW on top...it rocks Google: LCR-F or LCR-E

yes it's only a bit "faster" in terms of hertz : 800mhz against 768 mhz BUT ... BUT that's the next generation of qualcomm snapdragon and that's why ... it really is going to be faster !!! for example , the same processor is used for the HTC desire Z ( it's kind of the best querty keyboard androphone these days ... ) and no one said it was a slow device , on the contrary it really is a snappy one ! So don't concider too lightly this phone because of it's frequency ! it has what is mostly needed and quite a good design ! If i do remember acer used to sell the liquid E at a really low price at the time ! Perhaps it's gonna be the same for this device too ! If that's the case it may become a strong opponent for other smartphone companies ! the main missing information is of course the UI quality .... we'll see !!

I just got the Acer liquid E and I had a Motorola Quench/clix xt and this just blows it away . I was actually happy with the mopto but when I found out that there would be no upgrade to 2.1 from 1.5 in Canada but in the USA they are giving it the upgrade and not 2.1 but 2.2 Froyo. So that was it I took out the sim chip and put it on the shelf until My Acer showed up by UPS 2 days later. This thing is lightning fast and is getting the 2.2 upgrade in October so see ya later Motorola....Hello Acer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mhz speed isn't equal the performance of the Phone. The new 800mhz 7230 is far faster than the old 1ghz Snapdragon. Yet idiots still moan about ghz. My 2.67ghz i7 920 (Passmark score 5565) can easily destroy a Pentium 4 at 3.8ghz (Passmark score 637). Same goes for MP, 5 good megapixels with a decent lens is FAR better than a crap 8MP camera. Look at high end compacts, they are all reducing from 14/12mp to 10mp these days, because MP is mostly a gimmick for idiots. The Liquid Metal uses the same CPU as the Desire Z for reference.
