Mine got a huge dead spot across the screen as soon as the 1 year warranty was up. I had to get an rotation app that allowed me to continue to use it. I'm now at the 24 month of ownership and I can barely hear whenever anyone calls me, and it's also started to randomly malfunction. I've kept this phone in pristine condition and it seems to be failing regardlessly. I don't think I'll be purchasing another alcatel phone at all

Still having it. Working like a charm. Soon to be replaced by Hwei P9 lite and goes to the hands of my wife. Dropped many times to ground (floor, cocret, fine sand beach) and showered one time on bad weather. Nothing happened. No scrach on glas just scraches on the back plastic besause of rouhgh dust. Software - Alcatel did a good job on this one.

I'm not sure if you're rooted and running a custom rom/kernel ? First, try changing with another micro USB cable make sure that you didn't choose "do not charge while plugged into a computer. Try wiping your cache partition, or do factory reset.

I'm using my 6037y more than a year.And since december 2014,I've been roasting it with WOT Blitz every day.It heats up a littlebit during play but nothing significant.I keep it in some rubber protection. At start, I had problems with proximity sensor.When I placed it on plastic desk or syntetic peace of furniture it got buggy,also the camera got laggy. But once I update it with some factory update suggested, it just dissapeared. No problem at all. Works flawlessly just do some maintanance from time to time with some cleaner for owerall performance and it will do the work.

hi, this is my first alcatel and i bought it used, the phone was just great all was working perfectly, untill i delete a weird app that looks like a chinese appstore then some of my app stops working and i couldnt download anything from the appstore, so i factory reset the phone,but now is not allowing me to register any gmail account neither create a new one, i have tried everithing but keeps showing unable to conet to a wifi network.but i do can use wifi on it lease may someone tell me how to fixit..

Hi.I had this phone for about a year now, and had no problems with it. My battery could last up to 2 days with average use. This was the case until 4 days ago, when it reduced to 1day 12hours. And yesterday evening when i took it off the charger it was 100% charged, but when i woke up at 6 o'clock in the morning it went down to 61% and went to 5% in coupke of hours by doing nothing on it. Can sb please tell me if it is my charger which gone bad suddenly, or my phone itself? Thanks!

Upgrade to kitkat 4.4.2 should be available through phone update. Did it yesterday, I guess it is better, but you loose blue Wifi icon, they are all white, which is boring. Will report on other stuff after few days.

This is my first "smart" phone. Previous phone was a Nokia E50. I had the Nokia for around... 8 years and it still is in perfect working order. I bought this last autumn, in november. It's the dualsim type, with 16GB internal memory and without a SD card. Nevertheless, I bought a keyboard for it and it came with a cute adapter from male microUSB to female normal USB. On a whim, I also tried connecting a flash card to the adapter and what do you know? IT WORKED! I can also expand the memory with just about any flashcard. I'm extremely satisfied with the phone, have both my Yahoo and Google e-mails configured, though I currently only use on SIM card on it. What can I say? No problems with it except it DOES heat up when talking extensively (at the upper part of the phone). Talking extensively means more than 10 minutes at a time. Oh! Yes! I have not upgraded to KitKat since a friend of mine, more knowledgeable in computers than yours truly told me he had problems with it. So... I just dismiss it whenever the phone tries to "coax" me into upgrading and that's that. For me, it's a great machine and serves me perfectly. I have purchased a back cover of silicon that really helps with the hand gripping and a belt leather case so that I won't have to carry it in my pocket, which I resent, or in my hand which is even less appealing. It works great, had it for almost 10 months now and ... very happy with it.

I have had this phone for about 6 months now and a few days ago my wife was playing a game and the phone just crashed. It crashed previously but was able to turn it back on by pushing the power button. Now it wont come on at all. If I charge it the indicator light will come on but the phone does not. Phone was going on good until it got pressed in my pocket an the screen cracked, no big deal, right??? Kmt. Right below the crack, ntn responds an then to top it off the touch isn't sold separately, the touch an the screen is one assembly. It heats up after internet browsing, after you tube, during conversation . And it heats up near the camera and in front so I have a hot phone on my ear during conversation and it is summer. It is very anoying. It is a good phone but if I knew this I wouldn't have bought it.

I have update too to kitkat few weeks back, and now I can tell you it's worth the update... Battery power improves for about 20%, it's overall smoother expirience, improved camera and music apps, sound is better, apps multitask better. Overall it's now much better phone :)

Yes i have it and for now i just see cosmetical changes. Battery life is the same as early. But i need to do more tests so that i can tell you more about it. The best way for you is to put the update on your device. Just type "alcatel idol 2 proshivka" in your browser. Also you need to be registred user to download right files. Find it on page 94. I have a problem with my Alcatel Idol 2S. It's restarting itself and it's loosing battery for ex. at the moment I have 78% battery and my phone is restarting itself and when I turn it on I have left 30% or 0% battery , and sometimes won't turn on without the charger. After I'm putting it on charger it's constantly restarting itself for about 1 minute and then it's turning on. I've contacted my local service and they've told me that is about the software. They've made it a fabric reset and it's still happening. What can I do next? Pls help .

my advice to all the idol 2 users : stop waiting for the kitkat ! it wont come out . even if it does it wont make a great difference . you can easily root ur device using kingo root app and modify what you want by the countless apps available in google play . the phone is pretty lag-less .

They said that they discovered a problem at the soft and have to resolve it but in china last week was holiday for celebrate the new year and so, the engeneers where free... Well... its a solid phone.i saw people compaining about only one speaker working... its kind of true because its the left one that speaker for multimedia and other is i think when you turn the loudspeaker when your having a phone call. other things i have seen is that the android on this phone is alcatel design and that its just not as good as other android phones.i find it OK but i would have to agree that its just not as good as others...:D

Hello! About 3-4 months ago i've bought Idol 2 and i can deffinately that the phone is one of the best in its price category. JB is old and i trully believe that KitKat will be released soon. But my 3G is really slow, firstly it didn't bother me but now it does. I thought that it can be due to my operator but many of my friends are using the same operator and they don't have the same problems. Is there anybody with the same problem and how can i solve it?

Hi everybody, I purchased an Alcatel Idol 2 6037k model and I have an issue with it. The touchscreen of the phone seems very sensitive, while browsing on the internet or working with the phone I have to be very careful how to touch the screen or it will take a select command. Hello, the serious complain about this device is the damn bright screen.. I think I am beginning to have serious eyes problem. Other bug is with the sound when mixed with other sound application sometimes the sound is too high or too low beside volume settings.. Onother annoying thing is touchscreen sensitivity, some times when scrolling it reads as multiple tapping... This may be the last alcatel for me, if not fixed at least one of the bugs above with the upgrade so long waited and still waiting for it. Best regards

I used phone now for a week, very good price/performance from Alcatel. Design of Idol 2 is very impressive, kinda reminds me to iPhone 6 design. All in all it's very fast, compact, powerful smartphone for the price. Alcatel really improved over years and I am very happy in which direction company goes.

This happened to me not with this model but with my other Alcatel. This happens only if used non proper charger! I use the original and everything is nice. Check the vats and the charger specification and see if it is compatible. If not, it is acting very crazy. Still it charges, but: 1. u cannot work on it and 2. it decrease battery life. But Alcatel idol2 warns if you use other charger so u need to replace it. I hope it helps.

I have Alcatel Idol 2 for month. I bought it new. Tonight when I put it on charger the keyboard an all commands went CRAZY. None of the commands responds the way it should be. fe. "i tap phone book an it opens settings, i want to write something and it just wont let me do it, I type G and he responds kdfhlkfk and send it by itself".....and so on When a turned off the charger everything went back to normal. So i got several problems.The firts one is that the checkbox for automatic brightness cannot be unchecked it's just locked and the screen is too bright and takes a lot of my battery life.Secondly i noticed my alarm was very quiet so i set it and just looked at the sound of the alarm in the settings.When the alarm started playing the sound of the alarm automaticaly went to the lowest possible without me doing anything i just don't know how to fix that either.And finnaly the Sleep option is set ot 30 seconds after inactivity and that cannot be changed either it's locked.I just can't find any solutions to these problems if someone reads this please reply if you know how to fix any of this.Thanks.

The phone is great but I've got a major issue with mine. THE ALARM IS VERY VERY QUIET. In setting-sounds all bars are set to maximum, the same is in alarm clock menu. At start its only vibrating after 30 secs you can nearly hear the sound and that is it. The increasing sound option is switched off. Someone whith the same problem? I'm from Bulgaria with the single sim version if that would make a difference

This phone is amazing and has NOTHING to envy out of any s4, s5. I have never seen it lag or stutter! Is smooth and the keyboard is great and the phone is gorgeous. It is a good quality dupe for the s4, i think. The camera is good for daylight but is not nice enough for night photos. Use the flash to fix that. Also you can download "better camera" app for flawless night shots with no flash:) i have many apps in background and it opens them in a second and right where i left them. This phone is so good ♥ i hope they roll out kitkat for it soon. Mine is still in 4.2 but it works great! Battery life is awesome and i'm heavy user. Perfect companion,works like a high end phone.

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago, it Totally impresses me by it's performance. Battery life is average, but camera is not that good it's an average camera as well. One more thing is that mobile phone data connection is not that strong but i think it's a firmware issue therefore this phone needs kitkat update as soon as possible but i am totally satisfied with this phone.

Bought this phone 3 month ago and it`s a great phone. I`m from Croatia. I can`t compare it to high-end phones but for low cost, I think it`s great. I have one with dual-sim option and 12,84 gb end user storage. It has radio app pre installed. Camera is like every other android camera, average. You have to have steady hand to make great pictures. In outdoors it`s perfect, in indoors image noise is noticeable. For really great pictures it`s best to use photo camera. Only difference for this camera is that is always in your pocket :D I`m still at android version 4.2.2. Checking for updates often, but still didn`t receive new one. Battery is issue in every smartphone. I wanted battery that would last for days but that is just not possible. Sometimes it holds for 3 days, sometimes for 2 days. At the end it depends on how much time are you spending on your phone (I`m not a heavy user, I don`t play many games on it). If you need it for occasional call, send text, now and then turn wi-fi or 3g on it will last for 4 days. If you are constantly on it with everything turned on and playing games it will last for less than a day. Overall, it`s my first smartphone and I`m very pleased with it. It has it`s little quirks but that`s the reason I love it.

hey there when you want to shoot better photos then go to settings and choose iso 100 this will lower the light to the objective,because the problem is to much light also im shure is a software problem but not big deal just try ISO 100 ....and all photos when you edit them in a software like photoshop are verry clean and color full the main thing is the camera shoots sharp photos ... my opinion the camera is verry good has only this simple problem im shure they will fix it on kitkat

I got my phone 3 days ago. It works perfectly fine ! I am realy impressed. I thought it wasn't going to be good at first, since alcatel aren't famous for great phones, but it came out to be OK ! If you are about to get one, do it. It's NOT perfect, but for the price it's good.

i bought it two days ago..same here! all works perfectly but the colors on the pictures taken with the camera are very light..and pale. people told me that maybe i should make some updates but i don`t have that options..neither my camera has some set of settings(only the basic ones).My boyfriend has the alcatel idol and his camera is perfect ...alcatel 2- not so good. if by any chance you figure something out that will improve the performance let me know..i`ll do the same :)
