i have used this cellphone and traded this with a digicam. i have used the green one of this. i loved this one only the memory is low. didn't demanded much from this as it serves me well. the operating system is a bit slow though. ;) but hey! i love this phone! i'll get one of this if there's any available. :D

bartholomew, sam, Victor, just reset your phone and everything will work fine. Just type ###847# and press Yes when prompted. If in case ###847# don't work, just type ###337*07# - master reset (with SIM).

This is a bad cellphone. Don't buy it, or else you'll regret. Bought this for Php6500 but now you can buy it at Php2000+. Did the distributor felt the less-demand of this phone. But still, don't buy this one. Never!

the capacity of the inbox (for sms) is based on how many message which your sim card can be stored (i used to have a sim cards which can only store 10 sms) ###847# is working on my phone there is also an option to delete all messages for both inbox and outbox. maybe you should check your sim card in an other mobile - to see if all messages are deleted and also check capacity

Is there any other way to restore the factory settings? ###847# doesn't work... I also have some problems with the messages... Now my inbox can store up to 7 messages only from the 30+ messages (courtesy of SIM memory). My sent items can only store 3 messages unlike before when it can store to almost 300 messages... How can I resolve this?

IT's such a bad phone... The battery life is very short and it is not advisable for browsing the net and texting. Also it always hungs up and it has memory issues...

you can try to find the alcatel PCSuite3.60 - it works with my OT-C552 and windows xp you also need IR port installed on your pc if you can't find the software I can upload to megaupload or similar

Guillermo, infrared of this phone is to be used only in transferring files like icons, images, directory, ringtone, etc. There's no phone so far that supports transferring games via infrared or bluetooth. Games cannot be transferred but they can be downloaded. This phone really supports MIDP2 but again no java games for mobile phone so far can be transferred to a phone via infrared. You can download games by using your OT C552's gprs and that is by visiting a website that offers free games like www.getjar.com. There's no way you can transfer games from your pc to your OT C552. You can only transfer games from your pc to a phone that has memory extension or memory card and that is via card reader.

if any one have a memory problem with phone - try the following code (I have only to vipe the memory on 535) to delete everything in the phone memory: ###847# - return to factory settings, this deletes everything in mobile, including contacts and calendar Remember to back up everything (pictures/melodies/contacts and make a note of the settings for wap/gprs/mms) before performing the procedure PS try to delete the sent message and video/photos/ringtones first!

ok, this fone is ok. sometimes when i turn it on it shuts down and freezes. its kinda slow, its realy slow opening folders and text messeging. the camera is ok. but lets not forget that a fone is 4 talking, not 4 all the junk that it has. so 4 talking its good.

this is my 2nd phone in 3 years... in general i found it was a lovely purchase and satisfied all my needs. pity that it's experiencing the same problem twice. 3 months after purchase it started switching on and off automatically, sent it for repairs... now 6 months later i have the same problem. is this a general defect????????

This is my first cellphone, almost everything really works well. It has built-in cam, nice tones (midi and wav), great themes... Yet, after two months, I have to bring it back to a repair center because when I switch it on, it shuts down after loading its components and then starts again. That will repeat virtually forever, unless you'll remove the battery. Then, if you switch it on... it just do the same thing. Meaning, you can't use it. I would like you to know this so that you don't have to commit the same mistake... I was really disappointed. After some hopeless months, (since the repair center didn't fixed it yet, after 2 months when i gave them), I bought Nokia 1600, it's simple yet, it really do what it should do, no flaws yet. I hope I helped other people here. Choose Nokia, or, I guess, Sony Ericsson. And not Alcatel, because it has many flaws along with its features. I'm really disappointed with this. :(

I think this is a good phone for the money.Just please help me with one thing it seems that my eco mode display -the one which appears after leaving the phone for some time- isnt bright in fact I cannot see it at all, only a dark screen. any suggestions?

Alcatel! what's your problem? why making so many phones with so many flaws! I'd bought this model in February this year.. and since then I had many many problems with it.. meaning shutting down in the middle of a call, or just not turning on at all. It's a pity cause the software this phone has is user-friendly and can be customised but, seriously, it's very slow when writing SMSs and when trying to access to its features. The camera is good for begin a only a VGA, so, to be honest.. I don't know who the heck is the one in charge of launching this models.. but.. he/she should give do a market research and see what the users think.. and he/she will be surprised at our opinions. All in all.. this models sucks, poor features, many problems, low mic and battery capicity.. my advice? DON'T BUY IT!! it's a waste money! From Buenos aires Argentina

the java games you download makes the phone software malfunction unless they were from the company site , so you have to send your phone to the service center to get it repaired

I bought this fone last March 2006. Two days after that, it developed the problem of "Powers off immediately after power-on" after downloading a JAVA app from the internet. Returned it to the store for warranty servicing, they replaced it with another unit after more than a week. Now, two months after that ordeal, my alcatel ot-c552 has the same problem. I think it has something to do with the memory. When the memory is having less free space (mine has more than about 1MB freespace left), the fone starts to have problems that seems to be power-related (turning-off by itself, restarting by itself.) when in fact it is memory-related. Don't make the same mistake I did: DON'T BUY THIS FONE. My fone is now back for repair to the store where I bought it. I'll buy a new one, perhaps the Sony Ericsson K608i.

I've been given one of these as a work phone and am very impressed with the features. I have been able to record ringtones and download to phone via the infrared port. Even transfer them to a friends phone of the same make. Camera's good for emergencies, but not for everyday photos. Also good for assigning pictures against phonebook entries so when they ring their pic comes up. I would consider buying one for personal use if I could find an outlet to purchase them. bought one about a month ago.picture quality (high setting) is comparable to that of nokia. cool features like video ringtone, video/voice recorder,etc. nice midi and wav tones too.but the only problem is i find the phone slow. overall, the fone is good. great value for money. bought this one for 6,400 philippine peso (about $120 us dollars).
