As a basic phone it is awesome! When it used little battery lasts between 10 and 20 days. If I talk more it lasts for about 4 days.

like you said root the phone is a very bad idea, ok, remove the battery from the phone and Ieave at least 1 hour, then returned to the phone and again leave for a while and then put it on the charger is allowed to charge. i remember never emptied below 25% and do not charge more than 95% so you're going to save your battery for a long time, because in this way the cycle of charging does not count and knowing that each battery has a between 500-1500 cycles.

Hi Im a Alcatel Pop D5 user, Im experiencing a problem with my phone so help me guys. It all started when my phone got lowbat @ 2% so i shut down and then charged it. Im was shocked because it was almost 3hours charging but nothing appears in the screen (the battery indicating charging) The only thing that working is the small-white light in the upper right of the screen near the front camera. I've ask my mates what supposed to be the problem of my phone and they reply "deadboot". Please help me. PS. I have rooted it but unrooted right away. Does rooting involve in this case? Try to ''factory data reset'' but first forbid all personal data (pict,mp3,videos,etc.) in sd card or pc, then take out sd card and sim card and do 'reset' the phone. Hello, I bought 2014 an Alcatel OneTouch Pop D5 at a The Phone House Store in Spain. Mobile data connection (H+) had several several times to be turned on/off in order to be able to browse the internet. For example: open a website of a newspaper and if you want to click on an article now you are unable to open the page. You have to go to the notification bar and turn off mobile data and turn it again on. For the next opening you maybe must repeat it and then. And now on my new Alcatel Pop 4 bought in another country it is even worse. There's another problem. And on a Samsung tablet there was a stain on the screen. And the problem is not me. I have experience with phones and I know very good to use them.

How could I solve the problems on my Pop D5, it fell down and got a crack (but its the issue). After the incident, several apps doesn't work. Even if i turn it off and turn it on again, the problem still goes on. I did reformat , wipe all the datas and the problem is getting worst. Brilliant phone had for two years with no problems, even dropped in puddles, in shower, down the stairs and no faulties. The storage is pretty legit and i only just have to upgrade my memory card from a 4gb to a 32 because its on offer so why not lol. Camera is good quality and as long as you dont do many system updates and any updates in general, you only need a 4gb memory card and i have games on it too.

Hi, i have alcatel one touch pop D5 dual sim. Almost a year. It works fine but theare is aproblem with the sound from the first days i bought it. I didnt go to the shop because i didnt give it alot attention. The sound goes very low with a strange auto leveling that i cant explain. When i listen music it goes up and down leveling by it self. Only when i maximize it full doesnt do that. I have reset to factory presets 2 times, and it still doing it. Can anyone help? My English are terrible. Thanks

memory is 4GB and is divided ; 2GB for the operating system, and 2GB for use, and that means that you spent internal memory for apps or data. and therefore delete some applications or images , mp3 etc, or it is best to put some SD card and then transfer all data in the SD card and internal memory used for applications

Good afternoon, I have an Alcatel Pop D5 with support for two SIM-cards. But I'm using only one SIM-card-slot. When I'm browsing the internet after nearly every web page I go to I have to open the quick settings and turn off mobile data connection (in my case 3G+) and turn it on again. Then it works. My phone is on Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. Some time ago I had a Vodafone 858 and there was maybe the problem that when I tryed to open a website some sites didn't open. Hi, your camera is blurry because the protecting glass (actually is plastic) it's scratched so you should buy new one or if you have an old phone with similar glass change it, i've changed my with xperia j, hope it will work.

First thing I noticed, i kept hearing the shutdown / opening sound over and over again (not really sure if it was restarting or shutting down). Then when i took my batt off and put it back in, the opening / shutdown tone was gone. Next, I took my charger and plugged it in, now the screen just blinks. Its like its trying to restart but the charge is so low it couldn't. Tried to take the batt out and put it back in again hoping the blinking would stop but it didn't so i let it charge for a while. Now tje charge seems to be holding up but the batt charge indicator starts at 65% when it is charged off Then it just restarts over and over showing just from the OneTouch pop d5 logo up to the batt charge percentage only. So i kept it charged turned On. That's where i noticed that the batt charge indicator at the home screen isnt charging but its just draining from 65% (when i plug the charger in it starts at 65% BTW. Not 1%) how do i fix this? Please help. My batt still keeps on draining while im typing this post. If you could please shoot me an email on how to troubleshoot this issue. [email protected].. Hi mephisto?'The application has stopped working' has several possible solutions.However based on your question,if all apps have the above issue,you may want to try and delete unnecessary applications from your phone first to free up RAM/internal memory on your phone,restarting it and see if the problem persists.If that doesn't solve it, I would suggest you try and clear the cache especially for applications such as browsers which can be consuming significant memory on your device.Please note this usually deletes some information such as login credentials and progress made e.g in video games.The procedure is 'Settings'--'Applications'--swipe left till you reach the 'All' tab and scroll down to the application which just gave you the Application has stopped working error---Tap/click on it and scroll to 'Clear cache' to clear the applications cache.Hope it helps.

I had problems with the keypad not showing up twice. What you can try to do is: 1. Go to the setting on your phone 2. go to the backup and reset 3. What bothers me however is the phone's performance after a certain period of time. I have recently bought this model and I am completely satisfied with it. The camera is good and there are pre-installed apps. In terms of downloading, you can choose where you want to store it (SD Card or Phone storage). You can also move apps in SD card if the phone memory is full. The screen resolution is very good even if the brightness was set low. Battery is okay! I highly recommend this phone! So happy with it :-)

The PopD5's Quad Core processor is diminished by its 512MB RAM. Though it runs the Mali 400 MP2 GPU, constant lag and buffers will prevent you from enjoying most apps that you would like to run. Multi tasking is a dream that didn't come true for this phone. Also it lacks a self refresh function once your network reaches bottom, meaning when you lose signal once, you won't have a connection anywhere you go. You have to manual refresh either by activating then deactivating Airplane Mode or Restarting your phone outright. The Boom Band is a lure for those bargain hunters who is out for freebies. Battery life for the POPD5 will not support the constant drain of the bluetooth device needed by the Boom Band.

System update is already available. Just updated my alcatel pop d5. Initial changes observed is the operation becomes smoother and the touch screen improves. Still observing other changes. But initially, i can feel some good improvements. New firmware version is 4.4.2 - 01001

Try to upgrade the boomband application. Mine has no problems. If it wont still work after upgrading, go back to sun cellular, its still under warranty. Ask for replacement. Hope it helps.

It uses a micro sim card (1 card slot only), an 8 mp camera and 1.3 for front, its android is kitkat version and it's quadcore already so internet surfing is fast especially on wifi settings. It was highly recommended by the sales associate to me, i reviewed the specs and find it to be okay.

smart gave me this 5038a under plan398. no boom band. and the screen is bad. i think its lcd. when you are playing movies and look at sides. all you can see is smoky white. and its single sim. i think alcatel released this with boom bands togethe. but this smart sells this separately.

My alcatel pop d5 5038e is doing fine. I can surf, play and watch with ease. Fast internet and good battery. Try to read the characterestics of kitkat so you woukd appreciate it. Othet than the kitkat os its quadcore and h+ signal for both sim 1 and sim 2. You wiil not be able to find other brands at the price of pop d5 and same specs. Before this, I am using a more expesive phone before but pop d5 is better and very useful and fast in browsing the internet. Learn how to use the phone properly. Dont be sorry. Maybe download games that storage is in sd card and buy 16 or 32 gb. The 512 ram is okay because its kitkat(read and know the charateresics of the os kitkat). For your info.

I dont know what is happening with your phone but mine is ver good. I can browse, play,watch with ease and very fast. There are pre-installed application that can be transferred to sd memory card. You can also remove some application that you dont need. My advice read and know what kitkat os charaterestics. If you use your phone most of the time for playing games, download games that can be installed and buy a bigger memory card.You are not fooled. Its only plan 500 with the specs. I am using a more expensive phone before but this pop d5 5038e is far better because its kitkat, quadcore and good battery. Lastly, you cannot get any brand with the same specs at this price.

as the sun agent says(suncell),its a 5mp back cam and a vga front(but outside the box its 8mp).with 1.88 internal memory but with pre installed apps.its now only about 1.66 in total.512 mb ram.mine was 5083e.updates eat my internal memory.nba2k14 can't be moved to sd card.and u have to download lot's of apps to run it better.and cant be rooted as of now.1 game crashes evertime i open it.on my opinion i was fooled.i have no choice i. have a contract.

You have a different model number thats why the specs are different. Yours is 5038a while mine is 5038e. You got it from smart amd I got it from sun.

I think what smart is providing is diffetent from what sun cellular is providing in their plan which is for loyalty as a free phone. The model for Sun is 5038e with boomband and its for new subscription. Alcatel is use to releasing phone with same name with different model and specs thats why its confusing. I dont know their purpose and objective?

This is a very good phone.Iam using this for almost 1 month. At plan 499.00 its worth getting.Internet surfing is very fast. Nice specs. Latest os kitkat, quadcore, 8 megapixel back camera and 1.3 front, battery is 1800mah which is good. Lastly a useful boomband. Go for it.

I am using alcatel pop d5 5038e for about 3 weeks and I am satisfied with it. I get the phone from my communication provider in the Philippines, Sun Celular. I just wonder why your camera specification is only 5 megapixel(rear) and .3 megapixel( front ) while my 5038e is 8 megapixel (rear) and 1.3 megapixel (front ). Maybe your reviewing the 5038D? Is this the same or a different model with different camera specifications.Please kindly clarify. This unit is very fast in internet browsing even though its only 512 ram maybe because its kitkat.Good battery.nice camera, screen is okay although not superior.dual sim and both are H+ capable. My Alcatel pop d5 5038E Model is 8 megapixel Rear and 1.3 front. I have been using this phone for 3 weeks and I am happy with it. Very Fast internet browsing, good camera ( 8 megapixel )Why its only 5 megapixel back and .3 front in your specs?( Is this the 5038 D? ). Battery is good.It lasts for about 2 to 3 days ( medium user ). Although its only 512 ram, its not affecting the speed in browsing the internet even multiple opening. Maybe because of kitkat os. Over-all its nice based on what I need. Although its only availlable in my communication provider Sun Cellular here in the Phiippines at Pan 499.
