I upgrade my fonepad note 6 to kitkat. after upgrading, i notice the miracast no longer function the smart cropping/screenshot using the stylus no longer working. i went to the authorize agent to have it downgrade to the factory OS: jellybean 4.2. After downgrading, everything when back to normal. My advise, DO NOT UPGRADE TO KITKAT!!!

i recently upgrade from jellybean 4.2.2 to kitkat 4.4.2. the UI is great. clean ZenUI version 1. Downside: - Miracast on Jellybean 4.2.2 was working perfectly, after the upgrade, it change to PlayTo. I tried to connect to my miracast dongle which previously was working flawlessly. now it is flawed. unable to connect at all. - Zen music app EQ won't open and if you tried to open it, it will force close the app. i have contacted asus support since i found the flaws (16.07.2016) till now no solution nor updates has been done.

Guys, I just updated to the latest WW_V10.16.1.39.3 but getting this android.process.acore error keep on popping up any idea what this is? found a guy in youtube giving a quick fix to force stop the contact storage app (see it under application manager --> all) and clear data. wondering what really is going on and whether this will haunt me for the rest of its service days...

My note 6 battery, drains very fast. In standby it drains 3-4% an hour and the device is becoming a bit slow. Reset factory did not solve the problem, anybody can help?

I am using the phone with Kit Kat to write this, I will upload the Asus link to download the zip file later (can't be bothered finding it on a phone..lol), download the zip file. Go into software information (navigate to about phone,then go into software information), make sure the e.g.WW or TW or JP on the zip file you downloaded matches the e.g. WW mentioned in the build number section. Copy the zipped file as it is, DON'T unzip it, copy it into the phone just as you downloaded it. It may help to turn on unknown sources just incase (I had it on just incase, someone correct me if I am wrong). Unplug the phone, you will see something pop-up in the notification bar, click on it click yes and so on until your phone automatically reboots and does the rest for you, you will be greeted by a stunning theme. Straight away connect your WiFi up, or mobile data (if you have lots of MB), navigate to about again as done earlier and press search for updates, there were a few OTA updates I had to install, it may or may not be the case for you but check anyway. I will rewrite it on the pc with better grammar later. Thanks and hope it helps

Yes, it's "pressure sensitive" on adobe photoshop touch .. the stylus as i read from other reviews is from WACOM which as name itself you can trust as I also use wacom for mouse pen on PC

yes, i had that problem before, maybe note 6 is not compatible with your network carrier, mine i changed to another network carrier and that doesnt happen to me again. and i also updated my note 6 to kitkat, maybe they did some tweaking and updated that bug.

Yes you can download the ww*** user.zip On root directory of internal phone memory without extraction then to restart your phone an exclamation mark icon will appear on left upper corner drag it down and complete update as prompted.

Yesterday received the OTA update "Version TW_V11.2.1.34", only 67MB on OTA because my phone was already on KitKat 4.4.2. Asus now posted again the complete KitKat ROM +1GB size. I noticed that the Bluetooth connecting and internet is more stable. The KitKat they removed before was working great, but was having and issue while charging, it was showing a low current message and stopping for a moment the charging. Now this update resolved also that issue. The phone is working great.

I have been using KitKat on my Asus Note 6, and is working great. Calls are clear, the internet is working fine, the camera was improved and that Zen launcher looks great. Also the stylus surface usage was improved, there was a small area close to the edge of the screen in which you couldn't write or draw, but now is using %100 of the area. I deleted the file, so I can't share it.

File update from Asus Note 6 download page is still JellyBean 4.2.2. KitKat 4.4.2 update has been removed by unknown reason. The staff from service center said KitKat update has been removed from their official website cause by some issues found that affected to this phone. I have no idea what 'issues or bugs' occurred because my Note 6 have already updated to KiKat 4.4.2 but it runs flawlessly after OTA patch update.

ok,I know SONY Z ultra is better in specification,but just not sure the reality of using is performing as expected or not because some device in promote seem very good but when using is different, example, some phone say camera is 13m,but when take photo is not good. Yes, ask the service provider to change different type of Sim card (like colour type or any different sim) because sometimes this may works, different sim card work with specific phone if dont work. If still cannot, update the phone.

I think you misunderstood the SKU and Build Version. Your Fonepad Note 6 currently has Firmware WW_10.16.1.39.3 which is the SKU is WW while the number indicate for last firmware update for Jellybean 4.2.2. The most recent update is V11.2.1.22 (KitKat 4.4.2). Pls download and read the manual update SOP properly as mentioned on my previous post.

Image quality for main and front camera is good but not excellent. It's equipped with Sony Lenses 8Mp Autofocus camera. Download KitKat 4.4.2 from ASUS website: From the top list, there are 3 different firmware available for download (JP_V11.2.1.22, WW_V11.2.1.22, TW_V11.2.1.22) but you have to choose the correct version that match SKU Version (JP, WW, or TW) same as your current installed firmware. Please help me :(" The installation failed because you probably didn't extracted the content of the ZIP file, you need to first extract the content and that will provide to you another ZIP file (do not extract the content of that second ZIP file). Copy the second, extracted file to the memory, microSD, remove it, place it back on the phone and the phone will scan it and detect that there is an update file. Make sure you have more than 50% of charge, hope this helps.

I have been using the New Official KitKat 4.4.2 from Asus and is working very stable. My Asus is the 16GB/2GHz CPU. They change the launcher, is nice, is now more flat and clean. The notification area now has a separate are to switch on/of the concoctions and features. The added several transfer data utilities and media streaming. A nice surprise, the camera app was updated, now it has a Selfie feature to use the 8MP camera, you don't need to watch the screen because it will shot 3 pictures as soon it detects your face centralised on the screen. They added the defocusing background feature, low light mode (but limited to 2MP) and there are other new modes. One thing they removed is the Backup utility, they didn't provided another one. The removed that app because is not compatible, at least that was the reason they provided on the site. There are many new things, just one missing feature. I am happy with the update, thanks Asus for providing almost the most recent Android version. Now hopping to get the Android L :)

Just curious between Zenfone 6 and Fonepad note 6, spec wise, note 6 has 8mp without flash, zenfone 6 has 13mp Screen, note 6 is FHD, zenfone is HD. Note 6 has dual front speaker. I know zenfone has issue with Facebook. Both price are similar now. Hard to choose.

Hello friend, I'm from Malaysia too. Sometimes a problem unit doesn't mean this model is bad, it's probably you got a defective unit. All in all, I got 2 units of this model, the 1st one was Black, showed my friend the features of it and he offered me and I sold to him then I bought another White unit. Frankly, both units I purchased used separately, both about 1 month old and I didn't have complaints whatsoever. For the price, I wouldn't expect everything to be the same quality as high end phones so with that in mind, I believe I have managed my personal expectations so like I said in my earlier post, with all the features, this is truly a value for your money phone if you don't mind the overall dimension.

I hace the phone, no problems with it. It has been working great. The camera is a lot better if you use another camera app. I am using Open Camera Pro, the color balance is a lot better, there is almost no compression, the pictures generated are 6 to 8MB size, it will use more space, but pictures that are important for you are better to be shot with that app. I installed the latest update offered by ASUS, the phone rocks, great battery and OS performance. The camera is a lot better if you use another camera app. I am using Open Camera Pro, the color balance is a lot better, there is almost no compression, the pictures generated are 6 to 8MB size, it will use more space, but pictures that are important for you are better to be shot with that app. I installed the latest update offered by ASUS, the phone rocks, great battery and OS performance. I bought this phone about 5 days ago and i found wifi and GPS reception are way too weak. Using WiFi from my room to the router about 10m only got 1-2 bar while my samsung tab 2 has full bar. GPS signal reception also useless where's i'm testing both phone&Tablet using 'GPS Test' at outdoor, Fonepad Note 6 - Satellite 'In View' can found 4 but 'In Use' 0, while for Galaxy Tab 2 - 'In View' found 17 and 'In Use' 12. I open apps GPS Sygic and Fonepad Note 6 cannot lock satelite properly (inaccurate signal) while my old Galaxy Tab 2 cold start at only 35sec and showing my location. That's mean Asus Fonepad Note 6 totally garbage if you wanna use GPS Navigation..

Bought this fonepad note 6 on 13/3/2014 use for one day the phone signal is spoiled and the phone will shut off itself .send the phone back to service center had to wait for five working days before get approval to exchange the phone and yet still cannot get the phone.have to go thru all the hassle.still waiting! 19-3-2014 malaysia wont consider another asus product or from the dealer

had this phone for a few weeks then got rid of it. signal for wifi was terrible. as soon as the screen black out. i turn it on and the wifi was gone had to wait awhile until i manage to reconnect to the signal. gaming takes battery life out fast. but watching 2 at least movies was fine. 3g was terrible experience for me. :/ connected and then my line went dead for at least 1 minute then connected but unstable. at first i thought maybe its because of my area. but as soon i got a new phone [nokia lumia620] my 3g and wifi connectivity was fine. perhaps, i got a product which was somewhat damage inside idk. but, i had enough of it. but from asus i would wait for the zenphone series seems awesome but the killer is only 4gb. despite the external storage, but only a few major apps can be moved but not all or maybe non at all. anyways, specs wise for this phone is great. for the fonepad note6 but i would suggest to look into other phones for the same price.

yea its a great phone my lg but would recomend if you have money to trow buy g pro 2 its a hell of a phone. PS. i own a asus nexus 7 (2012 first gen) and its great tablet,so this phablet with a 2 ghz dual core and 2gb of ram should fly through roof with his speed.So if you do not need flash on camera this should be such a great phablet for anyone.

No flash on this one. If camera and flash is a priority to you, I wouldn't recommend this model, better go for LG G Pro, its 13MP cam is impressive from what I read from several reviews from different websites. I'm considering getting one, I like phones for collection purpose or maybe play with them for a while and re-selling them. The really good ones, I'll keep. So far I've played with some good to great phones like Samsung Note 3 (personally not my taste), Sony Xperia Z1 (Screen's white color is too bright and wash out for my liking, didn't like its Ram Management, battery not impressive for a 3000 mAh), HTC Butterfly S (one of the best all rounder in my opinion, will definitely keep), this Asus Note 6 (my current daily driver, its Intel Clover Trail isn't the best but bot bad either), Samsung Ativ S (my only Windows 8 phone, for its specs, it is surprisingly good and value for your money too), Asus Padfone 2 (nice hybrid with a 10.1" tablet), Motorola Droid Razr Maxx (my best daily driver from 2012 till mid 2013), Huawei Ascend Mate (fantastic battery, didn't like the UI and slower mobile data) and HTC One (loved almost everything about it except its battery which couldn't fit into my requirements). Talking about battery, due to the fact that I have my Bluetooth ON and mobile data ON for 24 hours, most of the phones with battery below 3,000 mAh might not be able to fit into my style of use. Hence, battery performance remains as one of my important criteria in choosing a handset nowadays.

Bought this phone recently (used, only 3 weeks old), at a worthwhile price of approx. USD 290. I guess the previous owner was not tech savvy and didn't like the size of it. My expectation on this phone was also low, have read and saw the advertisements on this Note 6 so I guessed why not ! Won't lose much if I re-sell it later in case I didn't like it but hey, I have been using it for a week now , discovered the stylus/pen features, the HD display 1800 x 1080 and the sound quality are all impressive. I can write, draw, cut, crop, paste and share online, quite a feat at this price. To me I feel this one is a truly value buy considering the fact that I bought my wife a Samsung Note 3 about a month ago therefore I could compare both. Yes, the Note 3 beat this FHD Note 6 no doubt but not by such big margins that justifies a 200% price difference. But one thing that the Asus had Samsung Note 3 on its neck, the front speaker system. Talking about front speaker system, I thought my HTC One and Butterfly S (better specs than One) are both tops in sound system department but this Asus Note 6 beat them by a slight margin - it has richer sound and stronger bass. Clarity - about the same. All in all, I wouldn't say this Asus Note 6 is the best but I would say it's the best in terms of value for your money and the stylus /pen feature is adequate and respectable. As long as you know what you're paying for, hence, some features like no flash and nfc are acceptable.

Bought this for over a month now. Love the phone but having a few problem which I will contact Asus to rectify. Pros: Love the size, it is easy to surf net Love the Stylus Love the price, worth the money Cons: Not mainstream, cant find cover or screen protector Weak Wifi signal, my old crappy cheap HTC have way stronger signal (I end up using my H+ all the way instead) As mentioned earlier by others, the line will go to zero bar constantly for few seconds.

Have it for a month now..it works well so far..no real issues except for a long charging time which i have managed to overcome by using different cable. Have no real need for stylus as yet..but I think with some improvement in terms of specs and tech..Asus has the potential to beat Samsung as the king of android devices.

i own one of this device but its not really good like padfone series. the screen is not responding to fingers most of the time and you should use stylus instead. the ram is 2gb but it will become full really fast. the phone is really heavy and carrying it in pocket is difficult. but its really stylish and has a beautiful flipcover in the market. anyway if you have money i suggest to but other devices or if you want asus go for padfone 2

yes, apart from the different model numbers i found some diff in displays 1080x1920 vs 800x1280 and the 6 has stereo speakers and 8mp vs 5mp camera... but both have non-removable battery... out of the question for me. NEXT!

To me this is the best looking smartphone/phablet at the moment. The double front facing speakers looks great and purposely design at the right places. Design 9.5 out of 10. If would be perfect 10 if it has less bezel on the sides. But I am nit picking here. It looks gorgeous and yes I will buy one just for the design alone not to mention it has great specs.

I think asus design team aren't retarded to enough to exclude a LED flash on thier phone without giving it a decent lowlight sensors.. anyway the highlight of this phone is the dual core Intel Atom processor which could perform like a quadcore because of its hyperthreading technology (or atleast in theory it could do that)
