Got this phone for my girlfriend. No problems whatsoever. In terms of quality to price, not much beats it. I work in a Vodafone store so I see lots of phones come and go. Here in Australia they just dropped to $199 .... Can't go wrong there. Menu lacks colour, but everythign works quick and without hassles. Good phone overall

Had this for a year now. First thing that got on my nerves was the Music Player. NO way of transferring playlists from your computer like I did with my SE W610i, very very laggy when you're listening to music and trying to do something else like look at photos or browse the web (browser is already laggy to begin with). Resistive touchscreen is outdated and sometimes lags too. Music player, Gallery, Pictures, etc. all take painfully long to load up which is a problem I've NEVER had, even on my old Nokia 7610. Gallery is useless. It lags so badly that it's impossible to see where you're scrolling. I blame it on low RAM and slow processor. I upgraded my firmware a while back, since then the phone resets when it feels like it, deletes my settings or any contacts/appointments/settings etc from the internal memory. Video Camera recording/stop tone is annoying/loud and can't be turned off unless you hack into the phone and replace the sound data. I also noticed my microphone works when it feels like it while i'm taking videos. Was at a concert on saturday and ended up devestated when my videos had no sound. Other than those problems, the Photo's it takes are beautiful for a mobile phone, battery life is ok, WVGA and Slow motion video are almost flawless, and the display is pretty good. Also the added Dolby and DivX features make watching video and listening to music a joy, as long as thats all you're doing. It's served me a good year, but had I known all this before, I wouldn't have bought it.

this phone sucks! I have it for a year now... It's very laggy. I can't find any themes. You can only install some Java games & applications but you just can't easily use them. the user interface sucks. I really got borred after 1 month. But i have no maney to buy a new cellphone... The only good thing is the camera. But hey wait a minute! : you can buy a super dig. camera with 100$. and buy an open source phone (symbian for example) with the rest of your money...

This phone has some annoying issues you should know about, when considering buying it: 1. the media player and the radio application only allow you to change volume using the side buttons; you have to tap the touchscreen to change the song (on the media player) or to change the radio freqency or channel; so you have to take the phone out of your pocket and dedicate your time exclusively to it while changing the song or the radio freqency. 2. even though it has wireless, you can't trasfer files to it using this connection, unless you setup a dav server; it doesn't have a file manager capable of ftp or smb or whatever. 3. even if you buy it directly from LG, it doesn't allow you to install 3rd party java applications - file managers, messengers, etc., unless they are signed (which I find it stupid on LG's part) 4. it doesn't allow you to install supplemental security certificates or to navigate to secure sites that present a self signed certificate - another stupid behaviour of the application 5. you can transfer files only by USB or bluetooth - I mention this again, because I find it very important to transfer files over wireless or GSM connections - who needs wires these days, LG? 6. you cannot use your phone's camera as webcam 7. the GPS cannot transmit the data to your laptop and by default it can be used only with Google maps, which needs GSM signal to function; there's no "traking mode" in which you could turn off all the phone's radios besides the GPS; you can't see the actual GPS coordinates; there's no GPS standalone application and no offline maps. 8. IMAP mail doesn't work. 9. The accelerometer needs verry high acceleration to trigger the screen rotation. The bottomline is: you have a nice combination of hardware (the perfect one, in my opinion) you could use if you'd had the proper software. There's no way you can use your phone properly.

Lookwise I like this phone(LG KC910 Renior) very much. But most worst thing it is not possible to install FRING software(this software supports g-talk, skype,twitter, yahoo messenger, sip calls etc) or Voip Support softwares which is required for a standard 3G mobile phone. After puchasing this mobile only I came to know this issue and I am very unhappy. LG mobiles have their own operating system(OS)which doen't support Fring or other softwares. Battery charging is also not powerful like Nokia even though price is very high. In my view buying this phone is not worth. Just we can take good photos as it has 8.0 Mega Pixel camera. Othewise it is working as a normal standard phone.

I just got the LG KC910i yesterday.I was not aware that there were 2 versions of the Renoir, the KC910 and the KC910i. I ordered the phone online and I was very dissapointed to find out that there was no mechanical lens cover to protect the camera. ( that was the main reason for choosing this phone). My last mobile phone was a Nokia 6300 and previously I owned several nokia n-series models like the N73 and N82. Apart from the absence of the lens cover my first impressions of this are very positive. Althought this is my first touch screen device I found it very easy to write text messages etc. the touchscreen is very responsive and the this is really a very easy to use mobile phone. Everything in the meny are where you expect them to be. I would rate this as a an excellent device only if LG hasn't removed the lens cover from this upgraded version. For the money I paid (263 Euros, brand new,unlocked) this is a value for money choice, considering that the competition costs almost twice as much...

Does any body has any problems with the bluetooth? I have the renoir 910i. I wasn't able to open bluetooth at first. It has a "waiting..." box keeps showing and goes on for a long time and I have to end it. So I took out the battery and sim for five minutes and then I was able to open the bluetooth feature. Now, the bluetooth can not fine my bluetooth headset. It keeps "Searching..." for a long time and nothing shows.

I recently bought a KC910i because it is suposed to have a GPS that should work stand alone (no gprs connection is needed). However kc910i gps does not work stand alone at all. I tried to configure it in the cell phone but it did not work. I searched on the internet and there is a lot of users tha have the same problem. I sent the kc910 to the technical assistance but they just reset it. I'm a electronic engineer specialized in gps projects and I'm verey disapointed with LG. If I new that this gps did not work stand alone, I would not have bought this cell phone.

Arena is smaller and has 8GB memory. But if you're looking for a good camera phone I'd say buy the Renoir because Arena image quality isn't that great AT ALL

ok to clear things up. The kc910i is definately an upgrade is useability to the kc910. i lost my kc910 and was sent the kc910i as a replacement. Its confusing as LG have released a renoir 8giginal builtb and a renoir i.My renoir came in an kc910 8gb box however when i looked under the battery cover the renoir is an i. Also the i is meant to come with 1 gb or 2gb built in memory! Mine only has the original 100mb of the standard kc910 internal memory. This isnt a problem as i said it comes with an 8gb card which is more than enough and it was a free replacement. I have heard many people say that the gps is pointless in the kc910 and 'i'. It isnt! It fantastic! LG didnt see fit to put a gps suite with talking directions in the phone. However this is advantageous to the customer! I;ll tell you why! Nokia have their own suite 'nokia maps' and they charge you to use it! L.g have no suite and as long as you have an unlimited or high data allowance in your contract you can download 'amaze gps' directly to your phone and its absolutely free to download and use! It works amazingly well! It has vocal prompts and 3d 2d maps or arrows of photographic satelite maps oin most major cities! you can download it through your wap browser at wap.amazegps.com . Some people (especially those with the original kc910) may have some problems downloading. However these can be easily rectified. On the original kc910 the phone sometimes not authenticate and download to the memory card. The way to solve it is to remove your memory card, turn the phone on, go to the browser and download the signed version to your phone. (I works perfectly well if you transfer it to your memory card once downloaded!! The gps reciever of the renoir is FAR more powerfull than the one i had in my n95! It more often than not can pin point your location through amaze of google mapos when you are indoors and keeps trackl of were you are much better! Very impressive. For best results you are better setting your gps setting to assisted gps (amaze wont work without it!). This will incur data charges but makes it all much ,oree accurate! If you download an internet add on it will be fine. My unlimited internet add on with 3 costs me 5 quid a month and is well worth it! There are downsides to the renoir such as the fact that it fails to download any application that isnt java. If the phone had adopted an s60 platform such as the n95 n96 and more recently n97 this could be the best phone on the market at the moment. However getjar wap site hosts 1000s of really handy and useful free java based apps ( although due to l.g using their own operating systems a small number fall out with the handset. i have tried to address the main criticisms of this handset that i have read online as i feel this handset has so many amazing features. last night i downloaded the james bond film quantom of soliace. I then used the divx software, which is on your disk that comes boxed with your hanset and converted with a really simple drag and drop converter. I was then able to put my mini sd in an adapter and transfer it to the card in around 20 seconds. It is now on my handset and it is amazing, full screen (no black lines) dvd quality film on my hanset, add to that, joggimg buddy, geo tagging for pics, 8mp camera with loads of features, fantastic responsive touch screen, more than average battery life, divx, dolby mobile for music, agps and yopu have a handset that wipes the floor with iphone in my opinion. If it had an operating system that was freindlier to apps such as s60 it would be pretty much perfect!

PIECE OF OVERPRICED GARBAGE. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE!!! I have this phone for over 8 months, and the phone is already broke TWICE, build quality is TERRIBLE!! It definitely not worth its price. The hardware is awefully inadequate - it is slow and unresponsive, having to tap atleast twice to THREE TIMES to get a response. DON'T GET THIS PHONE, YOU ARE REGRET IT!!

I've had this phone for around 8 months now. The connector for my headphones broke through general wear and tear and now everything that runs through headphones (I've tried a few) sounds all muffled and rubbish. Gutted - I've got 16 gigs of music on there! Anyway, the interface is slow and annoying although reasonably pretty. The touch screen works rather well but again seems to be slightly lagged compared to an iPhone. The camera is fantastic and the flash is a rare treat. Oh yes - another absolute disaster is the playlists for my music (and I have them stored straight from the CD album ripped) only plays songs in alphabetial order. That is simply an outrage. How did this get past the testing stage? So in general a fairly cheap and decent phone, with average interface, rubbish music player but good camera and good storage potential.

Just wondering if the calls are clear or not. I've read some reviews that people had said it was hard to hear the other person on the other end of the line and vice versa. Is that true? Hey Got the renoir about 6 months ago and its great! the camera is excellent with lots of features and THERE IS A CAMERA COVER! Its bril. Love it. Only cons are... Lots of media (i have a nearly full 8gb mem card) can make it run a bit slow and if you get around 700 messages a month you will need to empty the inbox and outbox alot to help it on its way but the speed is hardly effected in comparison with other phones I have had. Dropped it a few times (blushes) and lets just say.. its a strong phone even after falling two stories out of my bedroom window lol. It doesnt scratch very easily and there is a clear plastic film that goes onto the front of the phone that can be replaced so the phones good as new. Its greate. want any more info. Hi in answer to Somebody, Transition from SE to this LG is actually quite easy, big thing to get used to is the touch-screen. SE was my preference for ages - K700, K750, K800, W880, W580 were the ones always in my pocket, and after flirting with Nokia and Sharp occasionally would always hasten back to a SE...This time got tempted away by the LG Renoir specs w the cam, mediaplayer, touchscreen etc. SE use M2 cards so can't just hotswap between the two brands unfort, but otherwise everything else they make easy - bluetoothing contacts from SE to LG handset piece of cake, and all details for each contact dropped into the appropriate place! Only thing is that I still find the LG interface a bit clunky and not as intuitive to use as SE, but that might be familiarity. Would I get another LG? Maybe. Would I go back to SE? Probably.

LG has a terry simple but smart and beautiful interface i think that you will need some time to get use to it, but the LG uses a close OS so you will find less programs or adds for it, also i can recommend you to buy LG arena the Arena is much better then the reinor and the camera quality is much the same

in reply to google maps, you can get it on sites such as www.getjar.com or just go straight to the google settings on your phone and there should be an option to download it, otherwise check the google site on your mobile, and the only really bad thing about the phone is the slight lag time which the first renoir had, though hopefully they put in a new processor in it might make it faster, but i wouldnt be suprised seeing as theyre running the older one off the same 130MHz that they used in the LG Viewty. kinda disappointing :(

i've had mine for about 4 hours and i've expirianced some really bad stuff, like when accesing online videos via wi-fi it stays on 01% buffering for a wile ant then it says "connection failed" "exiting"... any ideeas, otherwise is a great phone, the camera with propper settings makes great photos and the menu is pretty fast

Is there an antivirus for this phone? Where can I download it? Also need to have an answer for I have this phone since December and now I experienced having my phone calls cut everytime I use it. The call will end up most probably after a few seconds. It's like I'm experiencing a drop call. I tried to use other simcard from other network, I experience the same scenario. I've had mine for about three weeks and the phone itself is fine, the camera is great but the volume for the ringtone sucks. Absolutely rubbish. Have complained to T-Mobile and am awaiting the outcome. Unless you have the hearing of an alsation I wouldn't touch an LG phone if I were you.

Check out the specs on shared memory, KC910(120MB) vs KC910i (2GB/1GB). I believe this should improve performance and address the issue of lag. Remember Nokia going from N95 (160MB internal) to N95 8GB to improve performance? Apart from that, I hope the camera update enables it to take better indoor pictures. Will GSM Arena do a review of the updated KC910i to confirm the improvements?

There is already a black color option for the KC910 out; T-Mobile UK has it. The KC910i is utterly pointless. A thicker body, automatic lens cover, and a little internal memory. Plus a gross, plastic-like back redesign. That's what you get. Plus, you don't get quadband coverage, and, atleast not at the moment, North American 3G bands. LG should just give the KC910 a software update and put a memory card in the retail package.
