For whom have the automatically shutdown problem, i've addresses this problem. This problem due to at the backside inside battery cover, there is one other battery switch that will be push by battery cover but it is not properly push by the cover. To locate the switch, open the battery cover and find the small square hold at the lower right side the battery (do not remove the battery). After u found it, put some paper inside the hole and then put on the cover back. This will solved the problem.

I use this mobile phone for about 5 years and still working fine until now. If u wanna battery last longer after 1 full charged, here is some trick. You need to activate the "turn off standby mode". Click on "battery" icon/indicator and it will show u the "battery power remaining" page. After that, click "Advanced" and at the "on battery power" option, tick on the "Turn off device if not used for" box and then choose 1 minute. The easier way to do this trick just by simply press a single click on/off button (dont hold and off the power) before u lock ur keypad by using the "HOLD" button. And now ur phone will turn off automatically after 1 minute on standby mode but it still at "ON MODE" and it consume less battery power than a normal standby mode. If u want to activate the phone, release hold button and then just press a single click on/off button and ur phone will came back on standby mode. Dont worry, u still can received incoming calls and SMS on the "turn off standby mode".

Mic, Speaker(making calls) and loudspeaker not working. I cant make a call because mic and speaker is not working. Although I can use my headset to make calls. What seems to be the problem here? And also When I receive a call the loudspeaker is working. Its odd that when It received a call the loudspeaker is working, but if I play mp3 on, it won't work.

My P525 had gone to ASUS service centre for chaging the screen. After I received it, the phone used to shut down at any time - while answering a call, charging - anytime. The service centre people examined it twice, reloded its ROM but still the problem persisted. I had to power up the phone 7-8 times in a day The problem was solved by putting a small piece of paper (neatly folded to 1mm X 1mm X 0.25mm size block) over the small switch near the 'reset'button and closing the battery cover firmly. It is nearly a month now and have not seen the problem of phone shutting down on its own again.

I've been using this phone since October '06 and apart from the faulty '2' and '5' buttons and a change of battery, it works great. Those with software issues, try resetting to default. It works every time. Great phone.

IS a very good device, in my opinion is the best I had, I upgraded to wm 6, 6.1 , 6.5 ( professional ) installed over 200 games and applications , I use it with external gps , almost in house all the time with WI-fi on , best best best , camera is I think the best ever camera on a device with wm, and we all know at least until the upper (>2mpx) the camera sucks on that devices. About Baterry , very good ( I use a program called xcale over clock , what keeping my device in 104mghz when I don't used, and when I need is up to 624Mghz. Played Tony Hawk Pro skater II on him... well all done Asus.

Unzip the file using WinRar 3. Format you MiniSD card (the best way) to make sure it empty 4. Copy �ASUS.UnlockLangID.exe� and �ROMGalaxy.nb0″ to your MiniSD card. 5. I bought this product a few months back and soon I found it not working. At first I thought I was to get used to its features. The vendor to whom I took it did some thing and said it was a minor glitch and it would work well again. After a few days i found the problem again and could not use it any more. This time the vendor referred me to a service station. It was in Noida and it took a hell of a lot time to locate him only to find the office empty. After some time some one arrived and with a cold shoulder nonchalantly replied that the computer was not working and there was no electricity. He asked me to contact him. He did not even give me a receipt bvut scirbbled in a blank paper and asked me to come again after getting the phone confirmation. After some time he said that the mother board needed replacement and was not in stock either with him or with his Bombay office. In a few days I got back the piece and it was done free. Once again after some time the touch screen did not work and I could no longer use it again. This time I went over to the service station only to be turned away to Delhi where I received a cold shouldered response. He gave me a receipt without any address, serial no and asked me to come again. The next day he told me that the LED WAS DAMAGED and needed replacement on chargeable basis. As he found perfume smell (which I did not smell) he assumed that moisture has creeped in and damaged the LED. I told him to take it up with his superiors but he refused and insist on payment. I agreed under protest and on the third day he called me to take the phone. When I went and checked it was again not working. Once again the new LED did not work and failed right in my the presence of the Service Engineer who replaced it and others present. The SE put up a poor face and said that this was because the LED product failed this time. Fofr my query as to why the LED could not have failed as a product even the earlier instance he could not answer. The way the office is conducted the Manager interacted and they dealt with the complaint all indicated a kind of total inefficiency andnot genuinely involved. The so called 'quality, speed, innovation integrity and servixce. so boastfully inscribed on the wall of the office there seemed fake.

HI, I am not sure if this will help but i have experienced the same thing with my imate 8150. There is no way you can reboot this again unless you will do a hard reset. Inorder to avoid this in the future, avoid installing today plug-ins if you can. specially *** Mobile shell. This plug in really causes lots of trouble, you can read that in many forums.

I also experienced the same problem and brought it to Welcom service center twice but the problem was not solved. However, when I changed my SIM card, which according to Globe needs to be replaced already, the problem disappeared. Hope this solution helps.

Go to settings, then ring tones, then select the song u wish to set as ribg tone. Then go to settings, then to sound and notification, select ringtone as event, and in play sound select the song. thats it.

The Search program goes haywire after a few weeks. It works fine when you restore it to factory settings. Meaning, wipe out everything, and start from clean slate. Install all the software you need, and the Search program still works fine. But after a couple of weeks, the Search ceased to function properly. It can only do searches on a limited basis. Such as limiting the data type to contacts or notes. If you search with "All data" types, it will terminate and show a "We're sorry..." message. Is there any fix to this bug?

The price is not reasonable until now. It costs P25k here in the Philippines. With that hefty tag, you can already purchase a N82 or the original N95, both with 3G, higher megapixel camera (5MP with Xenon Flash), FM radio, GPS, etc. In fact, SE P990 is a lot cheaper than Asus P525 though it has superior specs. Asus however has the stable OS but that justified the price?Bring the price Asus, a lot of people want to buy it if only the price is accurate for the features.

Hehe orange, obviously you have had a bad experience but I have very good experience with wm6!!! And I was informed from one person who work in ASUS!!!! The english wm6 will never be relised on the official site of asus because of contract with Microsoft!! But this rom that I have works superbly, evrything is fine!!! Advo You have evrything,only Businesscard, voice command you havent!!!

advo, Not so good WM6 the one posted here. You can find some developer that WM6 can work well but not official from asus. if you want a problem later on for your P525 go on try all Unofficial WM6. On my experience after Upgrade to WM6 my unit hang every time I used for call and text. This time Im looking for WM5 to reload old program. peace to every body ( i just post my experience)

Furthermore, when upgrading to wm6, did all the features of p525 function properly. like the business card reader, blue tooth, wifi, voice command, etc. also do you still need to upgrade to the new radio firmware the the asus website recommends. Tnx Cruise!!!! First format the MiniSD memorycard, than extract the files of the rom into your card and put it to the phone! Press the camera button and reset button at the same time and follow the screen and wait while it is instaling! At the end your phone will have wm6 which works superbly!!! I forgot to tell you plug your phone into your charger and good luck!!!

hi Rajko first u have to download your rom from asus site.and extract this rom in your computer and put it in your memory card and put your card inside your asus automatically your asus will feel it and it will ask u u want to upgrade or not and follow screen proceedure.and in asus site u will find fulll instruction how to do this.

Hi Rajko, in relation to your query why the asus website is not releasing wm6 english: "Because of the protocol made between our company and operation system supplier (Microsoft), we couldn't support to upgrade to WM6 english version. Sorry for any inconvenience." This is the answer I got from Asus support website. I am from the Philippines, I asked the distributor here if they have wm6 english for p525, they said there is none and that most asus p525 unit that did tried to upgrade to wm6, had ended up in their service department due to frequent hanging. So I am a bit uneasy to upgrade to wm6 if there is an english version.

I have this problem that keeps bouncing - evry time i touch the phone it signales that storage memory is critically low and that I should use file explorer to delete files. Hi!! I'm asking on how do you type SMS in Asus P525 because I do have a problem in Asus V80. The space in Asus V80 is when you move the joystick to the right and in the keypad 0. In keypad 0, it takes time coz you have to select the space in it then it goes back to the SMS. Is it the same in P525?

Umm...it depends to you, I use an Asus P735 and I have a bundled program (straming player) I can watch videos from a website supported by the program. for me it's almost the same, the WM6 does not have much advantage than the WM5, it's just window's upgrade to go along with windows vista. But if you look for specs consider this P735 - Wifi b/g = 54mbps 3G- but if you don't consider 3G go for P535 so you can have GPS WM6 P525 - Widi b - 11mbps With Numeric keypad More metalic body than the P735

sorry dont know which one is the better. I haven't really tried the 735 yet. Im a P525 user and im very much satisfied with its performance. But base on the users opinion on the p735, the p525 has a lot of advantage over the 735. You may read them here on gsm arena to help you decide which one is the better. goodluck

Asus P735 user. help I downloaded the GSPlayer for great sounds but the problem is that it does not support my bluetooth headphone (motorola HT-820) everytime I press play on my headphone the windows mobile player is the one playing. And another thing, until the new asus arrives, and a complete review has been done, it is completely senseless for you to assume it will be a capable and reliable phone. take the imate 8150 for example, good features a few months ago, but until now hasn't been released yet. same goes for asus, until the new model is out, it is all talk. same goes for your statement regarding the e90i.. until it's released it's speculation. and i bought the e90 expecting that an i series version would be released. i needed a phone to replace my junk p525.. and the e90 did just that.. i agree that nokia prices drop quickly, but so do other phones. even the p525 doesn't have that good of a resale value. no phone does, just like a car, as soon as you drive it the value drops.

Just wait 3 months and you will see the E90i. just like the previous N series after 3 months they release i series why?? because just like for the N90, N93 and N95 all of them are phones that recieve the HIGHEST complaints in nokia N series. Like bugs, hangs, and slow speed prosessing. So if you thing you made the right choice with the E90 it's you opinion but for my opinion it's not. Why? 1. Resale value down to 40% in just 3 months. $900 becoming to $600 that a waste of money. 2. New Model comming in just 3 months to replace your new phone. 3. Symbian phone against Windows Mobile? No way, you can do microsft documents but do you have all the features? 4. 3G, HSDPA QWERTY keyboard, 3.2mpcam is good but don't compare it to the 1.5year old P525. but DO comapre it with the P750 see the difference. 5. Nokia service? WHAT, they have one of the most TERRIBLE customer service I have ever experienced. I was an N70 user befor I switched to Asus V80 and let me tell you Asus V80 may not have all the N70 features but it can pack a punch with bluetooth V1.2, Autofocus camera and up to 4GB cappacity. 3G?? who needs 3G if you are talking to an 3310 user. If you say we are jumping conclusions your'e wrong, simply comparing the E90 to the P525 is just plain wrong to start with. Just for me I am sure you will be bound to make a mistake you bought the E90 because the E90i will come it's way soon.

hey Uma p525 has wifi b,and p750 has wifi b,g and n. so i suppose that in your school you have wifi g connection(that should help). summery of this n is faster then g and g is faster then b,so you will have much faster internet with p750. but i dunno how could pda help you with ur study? anyway i am updating from p525 to p750 when it will be out.

Until now I haven't bought the Asus P525 but I have enough money for the P735... The Asus P526 has no wi-fi so it's out of the choices. And now the P750 has now showed up... and just saving a little more and waiting about 4 months will make me have the P750. I am a college student now...should I buy it now or wait? for all asus p750 is on the way marvel pxa27x 520 mhz cpu 3.2 mpx cam autofocus gps + GSM/GPRS/EDGE and HSDPA wifi+bluetooth 256 rom ,128 ram keypad(better then p525 since the joystick is not in the keypad)and a jog dial. fm radio they took all my wishes and put then in one high end device called p750. (i hope its not a smartphone edition ,didnt mention touch screen) Asus learn with p525 ,p526 and now the top result is p750

Do your homework and look at the demographics. People that would buy the p525 are the same people that would purchase the e90.. I never mentioned th n95 so i don't know why you brought that up. Another thing, touch screen isn't that big of a deal. Spend a few hours with an e90 and you will forget about the touch screen. Besides, for me, a touch screen serves no purpose except that you have something else to worry about breaking. and a touch screen will never give you the clarity and depth in pixels as a non touch screen..

It's not only 3rd party software that people are after. it's longevity, build quality, in call quality, ease of use, product support, in some cases resale value, processor speed, hanging, speaker quality, camera and video quality..etc..etc.. the list goes on and on.. if you are happy with you r p525 then congrats.. i wasn't.. so at the end of the day you can keep yours and i'll enjoy my e90. and yes they can be compared because both the p525 and the e90 have the same market base..if you dont know what market base is, it's the type of people that would purchase either phone.. wow, typed all this out on my beautiful e90 keyboard using the speedy wifi b/g. and this website looks perfect with the 16 million color tft screen.. oh that right,you don't have that do you doc.. you only have a measley 65 thousand..let me tell you, the extra 15 million colors makes a whole hell of a lo of difference when viewing multimedia or documents.. Edge, 3g,hsdpa,3.2 mega pixel camera with 30fps of video recording.. hmmm.. none of this with the asus..like I said, the p525 is out dated..

Just came by to say that this is still the best phone on Earth for me. I have been using this phone since December and everything is still amazing. Much more amazing than the O2 Atom that O2 has forgotten already, always pushing people to but their new products... This phone: - never freezes - battery still lasts at least 3 days with wifi and program usage - connects to computer first try everytime - still very fast - the camera with auto focus still amazes me from time to time However, there is one slight problem. The '2' on the numpad has been compressed too much and I have to press harder to use it. But this alone does not stop me from loving this phone, since I am used to using the digital pad to dial anyways. Just came to say that this phone is really the best, and I am even considering buying a second one incase I drop this one in water because I can't live without it.

amar you need to read the wm5 ,or the asus p525 manual. 1.there is no send via bluetooth in the internal filexplorer(you can fined send via bluetooth in resco explorer,or any other 3rd party application. p.s have fun reading the manual.

ppc doc is correct. you can transfer a file by beaming using your mobile's bluetooth not only for infrared. try it and you will be surprised that it works magic! both mobiles must be tuned in e.g. using similar password

Sorry ppc doc but you are incorrect. To send a file via bluetooth you turn on the bluetooth, go to file manager, hold down on the file you wish to send, and select send via bluetooth.. if you select beam it will tell you to align ports and will not search for bluetooth enabled devices.

beez i am sorry m8 but you need more experiance with window mobile. to send via bluetooth : 1. turn on bluetooth 2. anyfile you want tap and hold the stylus on it and choose beam. p.s if you dont turn on bluetooth first it will try to send via infrared. OR you can use resco file explorer.

hi jan you can change ur message alert tone =) choose any wav or mp3 tones that u like then paste them to the windows folder on your device. then go to sounds and notications settings and choose ur tone for the new text message - its under the event in the notification settings. keep ur tone short because it wont stop even if you have opened the message.

yo chick before sending anything with bluetooth you must turn on bluetooth on p525. then go to file explorer and select the file you wanna send and tap and hold on it and then click Beam . wait a bit till it fined the other bt and ir devices and then just tap on it. or get resco explorer and taband hols then send to other bluetooth device. hi henry i used to have problems with the active sync connecting my computer to my p525. but i tried to change the usb setting to Active sync (low speed) and it worked! you should try it ( Start/Settings/Connection tab/usb settings )choose low speed.. hope it works for you.

got mine last week.. so far so good.. memory is pretty impressive, without the mem card i mean. The only thing that bugs me is that everytime i do SMS i have to change the setting to T9.. then to Abc. Im used to Nokia and i tell ya, its a different thing alright. And you have to wait like 2 secs before the letter actually appears when you use the T9 and Abc selection. Another thing, i cant change my SMS notification Tone to any of my uploaded Mp3's. It has its own built in tones when it comes to SMS notification, which SUCKS BIG TIME coz they dont even have something that is louder than a cricket. Im from Philippines and SMS is very popular here. Now I wouldnt know if i got any SMS unless I check my phone. let alone answer msgs right away! Other than that, I dont have any problems with the phone... good speaker phone.. cool mp3 player.. and the battery even goes for 3 days (considering its a PDA, thats very impressive). and the cam takes good pics, if you stay still LOL ! hi...the wifi connectivity depends on the area where hotspot is located, batt life is normal depends on your usage but the more you use bt and wifi it will drain fast...bt is ok for fon and mp3 use

to access internet just do follow what "CRUISE" has posted i'm also using the same config... u can check sms / emails and sync bet ur pc and asus... price is php 29k (usd 600.00+)... "WIFI" is cheaper (nid 2 find hotspots...some area offer 4 free and some have 2 buy access card)..."GPRS" is a connection using ur network provider...(smart is cheaper than globe)...oooopppssss...sori no offence meant but its true...

hi i have the same problem with globe eventhough i use postpaid plan, i think my gprs works fine ONLY when connecting to send my MMS, but when browsing through the IE, it can't. when i use my IE it says it already has been connected by it keeps on locating and locating and locating and locating the website i want to go to. i'll try what the others posted for the settings and i'll post again what will happen. tnx

cruise you must have a globe plan service to use your gprs. its auto configuration actually. if you subscribe Globe plan. there is no need for configuration. just choose globe internet in network management thats all. but not in prepaid. x-p

Hi Yishin! I'm sorry to hear that your IE still doesn't respond. Well, may I suggest you to bring your phone to where you bought it and have them configure it. However, if you have time to toy around with your phone, if still resetting doesn't work, try default setting. Take note that if you use default settings, all your data will be lost as well as any programs you loaded. So, better back up everything if you decide to use default settings. I've done these a couple of times when I can't configure the phone and resetting doesn't work, and It was a success. When you do decide, then work your way to what I mentioned for the gprs set-up, starting with network settings. Best of luck! And have a nice day.

The joystick button is the mian problem on this thing.Camera is good but again some programs just default when you try to use them sometimes.I myself went for the gigabyte gsmart model(i don't regret it) which is smaller, handier,with TV and cost cheaper than the Asus.i love Asus but this phone is a liability if you are thinking of buying one.

try reseting your phone if all fails. but for me I'm a previous globe user and they don't have great customer service when it comes to MMS, 3G and GPRS assistance they will just say the " we don't have configuration on your current phone" it's proven globe customer service said to me that they only accept Nokia, Sony Ericsson , Motorola and Samsung GPRS and MMS settings. other brand phones are not supported by globe. So I switched to smart and they support 30 phone brands which is better that globe. I am not advertising here but I'm just saying globe is bad in customer service.

tnx cruise.. i tried it.it's still not working (unfortunately). and the weird thing is whenever i type internet.globe.com.ph for the access point it says "the answering modem has disconnected" but when i type www.globe.com.ph for access point, my gprs starts to work but the problem is the status is just "locating" and after waiting for a couple of minutes, it says "the page cannot be downloaded or displayed because connection was lost" anyway, if you or anyone happen to find some solution, i'd appreciate it.. thanks a lot!!

Hi to All! My asus P525 is working fine with globe. My internet using gprs is working fine. What I did was use the same configuration used for o2 phones when I set it up. This is what I did: Go to settings > systems Tap connections > advanced Select Networks then select Globe Intenet Settings Tap edit and enter the following: Enter Connections: MyGlbe Internet Select a Modem: cellular line (GPRS) APN: internet.globe.com.ph User Name: blank password: blank domain: blank click finish This works for me, wish this work to yours. Better reach your nearest globe wireless networks, dont accept their reson of "we don't have a configuration for that phone" IT IS IMPOSSIBLE!!! If the O2 phones works with the same system why not the Asus. It's just you have a wrong configuration in your phone. maybe you are choosing the wrong network on the network settings. I have used this phone since December. There are 2 main cons for me. 1. The camera sometimes does not capture the first time it is on. You need to take a second shot to save properly. 2. There are about 5% of pocket PC programs that will not function properly on this phone because it has a more unique interface and it is not a mainstream PDA producer. For everything else, it is excellent. I have used a symbian PDA and an O2 PDA before this one but this one excels by far, especially in speed, battery life (3-4 days), camera quality, reception and one hand dialing. Not very important but it's screen is slightly bigger since it is a 2.8" TFT and not a 2.7" TFT. Bigger is better but no screen protectors will fit. Another bad point is that the protecting cases aren't great. For me it's not a problem since this phone is near flawless so I will use it until it rots. I only need protecting cases for phones that I will sell.

for me, it's not text message friendly.. thats my only gripe with the phone. if you are an avid texter, and you would rather use the number pad instead of the stylus, you will have problems with its slowness and the number 2 and 5 key, as the damn joystick is in the way.

I live in germany,and the asus p525 is rare here it took me one month to fined a online shop that sell it. till now i didnt c anybody around me has this device ( i work in a caffe bar in the city center). back to 3g ...,where i live we have a wifi provider for the whole city for 10 euro /month. forget about 3g when you have wireless lan. most the caffes has wifi ,airports ,hotels. i fined it good idea to have 3g only when you dont have wifi. my next device gonna be another asus,xda flame.... maybe.

i agree with IC, it's ones personal preference to have a 3g phone or not. and as far as ppc doc being the only one having his p525 around, well, i don't know where you live, but where i am there are many people using the p525. as far as the screen size being a waste on the n95 because is not touch screen, that again is a personal opinion. Some people like a bigger screen for viewing pictures and video, not just to touch it with a stylus. ic, the scrrwen on the p990i ius much more defined than the 9525. 262,000 as compared to 65,000. however the p525 does have a beautiful display nonetheless. and i have had my p525 since september of 2006. i also had the p990i but sold it when i was able to get my hands on the asus p525.

why should i get 3g phone that i will never use and i dont need it. 3g drain the battery like hell and for what to use it?? i have the asus p525 since 23.12.06 and the device is unique i never seen somebody has it around(only me). everbody have seen the phone get amazed . i didnt c anybody around me using 3g only girls (use the front camera for makeup). check i just benchmark my device on www.jbenchmark.com and please check this gig review ­ its very powerfull device u can compare to dell axim 50v. when i run it at 624mhz it will be crazy hyper fast(with no side effects ,maybe batterie drain).

PEGASUS we come but i hope not with omap cpu. wm6 for p525 seem like a dream(but its just a dream). nokia n95 is a cool device but since its not a touch screen its a waste of the big screen. to naki upgrate its not a must if your device work perfectly. but if i have the wwe p525 i will go for 3.43 upgrate. (i have geman 3.31) no update till now and for the ABC became default mode ,till now i didnt fined a way to make it deffault.

yo there its me THE DOC. i had p990i for 2 weeks in the same time with asus p525. let me give you a overview comparition about the both devices. 1.design:the asus kill p990i with the very solid nice curves ,i found the p990i very edjy. 2.operating system: asus has wm5 means you will fined tons of applications and games for it. p990i has symbian 3 uiq operating system problem with app and games i searched for 2 weeks to get 10 application and game. 3.camera: p990i and p525 has 2 megapixel cams auto focus picture is verygood on both devices,but the asus led flash in more powerfull then the p990i. 4.speed: asus is a very fast wm5 device it has powerfull cpu that can be scaled from 104 mhz to 624mhz. p990i is not powerfull enough to play videos qvga 30fps with high bitrates. 5.memory: i use asus p525 with 4 gb mini sd for 40 euro. p990i use the sony memorysticks that i hate cause its expancive and only been used by se. 6.p525 has mini usb and can use the minisd card reader. 7.hands free speaker on asus p525 is the clearest and loud that i ever heard. p990i has a normal phone speaker. 8.asus has the 2,5 jack for headset and the p990i has special se plug. hope its enough for you . i sold my p990i for 350 euro . i test phones as a hobby (had and xda mini,xda mini s,mda pro,xda neo,se p910i ,se p990i,nokia n73,....) one problem i got with my asus that it has high frequancy sound since 2 weeks and i think its bad luck from me. any questions more.

I love my p525, but if this 8150 is released before the end of the year, i am selling my p525 right away.. The form factor is awesome, windows mobile 6.. the specs are much better than the Asus p526 aka Pegasus.

Advantages / Disadvantages of P525. For me I am about to buy the P525 in 2 weeks, after canvansing for more than a month I have compared the O2 stealth against the p525. and in terms of features the P525 wins against camera and processing speed. but in look I like the black color of the O2 stealth, and the stealth has 802.11b/g wifi not like the P525 only 802.11b 54mbps wifi for O2 against the 11mbps of the P525. but the P525 wins in bluetooth features which has v2.0 not like the O2 that has only v1.2.

about the ringtone volume issue ive tried using the downloaded ringtone from my n73 to p525 its much louder louder than the preset tones in p525. try to convert mp3 files to 320kbps then set it as ringtone to ure p525 then probably its much more louder.

crk let me explane you something first. befare running any cpu control program you have the shutdown the asus cpu control program. cause 2 cpu application doenst run together(just put the asus on turbo and dont put it auto). pda will freeze if you use 2 in the same time. i am able to run my asus at 624 mhz with pocket hack master.663,624,520,416,108 ...perfectly. i dont recommand to run over the 520 you will have high frequency sound coming out of the screen.

crck, I have the same upscaler also, I can only get it to 520. anything above that and it will freeze the phone. also, when using it at 520, sometimes while tying to load the camera, it will freeze it as well..

UMA- yes you are right, a technician would have been the best option if I had more time to wait. In regrds to your comment about the the texting, yup I have the same issue also. And so do other people I know that have the P525. It does take a bit longer for the letters to appear on the screen compared to regular phones from sony and nokia. But hey, it's a small issue for an overall incredible phone. Maybe a future firmware upgrade can fix the problem..

All is well in the world. After a few moments of deep thought, I decided to open up my p525 to see what the hell was wrong with my keypad. I owned a benq p50 awhile back, so I was somewhat familiar where the existing clips and locks for the p525 were ( both units are similar in size and shape.) So I removed the housing to take a look at the internals of the unit. i have to say it is solidly buit in and out. Seems that I had a short in the joystick and it was affecting the adjacent keys. I know I just voided my warantee, but what the hell.. I needed my phone to be fully funtional asap. And it was much cheaper than what I would have paid Wellcom had I had them repair it. Wellcom may have just sent it to Greenhills for all I know.. I have been testing the phone for about 6 hours straight and it works fine. Lets see what happens a few days from now.

I think I have had a defective unit since I purchased it. My joystick has always been moving diagonaly. But it was something that I could live with. The 2 and 5 buttons just started malfunctioning a few days ago. The unit has never been dropped. I don't know if it's from texting too much or what.. I don't have a warantee from Wellcom because I purchased my p525 in the states. So no matter what I will have to pay. I was just wondering if there was another service center that could fix the unit faster than 2 weeks. I have had the p525 since September of last year. Maybe the pad just wore out, or it's dirty inside.. hopefully it's the latter.. If anyone knows another place that can fix it aside from Wellcom please let me know..

No choice but to surrender your unit to wellcom, they are the official Asus repair service, unless you want to void your warranty. Question: How did your P525 joystick, 2 and 5 malfunctioned? My guess is you accidentaly fell the unit. Please share your experience so that we other asus p525 users will have better experience using our P525.

rubin ,follow the instruction on the asus webpage.(same as hany said) What somebody is ******* about the camera??? camera is the best camera on ppc till now (is u r old and ur hand shakes then use the sport obtion ) video recording is ok at day 15 fps ,but at night forget it. for better video recording with 20 to 25 fps use ateksoft coolcamera . ONE BIG ADVICE FOR ALL. DONT INCREASE FONT CACHE MORE THEN 16K or you will get hight frequency sound from your screen....... be tuned till i finish investigating about this sound that is coming out of my xda mini and my asus p525

Camera of P525 is better than other 2mp cam of O2 and palm, you have just to adjust the settings right, and because you see the picture in a larger screen not like ordinary phones which has smaller screens and confusing us in better pictures. Anyone can post a picture using the Asus P525 in a picture post website, my P525 is currently at the repair service for firmware upgrades.

This one just came near to PERFECT cell phone cum business gizmo. Just lacked these things 1) Key pad lock on right is too tight and annoying 2) 2MP camera with AF sounds kool but in real is very bad i.e. a quality of ordinary 1.3 mp cell phones - noisy blurred & lifeless. Becomes all blurred with slight shaky hands. 3) Similerly video recorder is a big let dowm. Apart from is wifi, speed, battery all are very good. best thing is that it fits in hand and pocket.

Gd day everybody, u P525 lover. I've just got mine 3 weeks back. As a matter of fact, I bought 2 units at once. One for myself and one for my wife. We give away our K750 to our 2 daughters. B4 buying this fon, I had high hopes 4 it but it seems like it's beginning to change becos of: 1. The sliding keylock button is very troublesome to operate unlike ordinary h/p where u can conveniently press '*' & lock otherwise it automatically locks within 10 seconds or less. The P525 the fastest is 1 minute. 2. Incoming BT goes to internal memory by default and cannot be changed to external memory. The remaining internal memory is very limited and if you've big incoming BT file, the transmission will just halt there. I hope somebody can come up with some setting solution which I'm unaware of. Your feedback is very much appreciated 3. I'm unable to use draw function using different ink colour. I was hoping I could use this function similar to the ads pictures of SONY P990i

it was such a nice phone in my belief. I used to own an XDA mini but end up selling it despite having it filled with the best ever ppc applications which is still in my pc. The difference in the camera feature plus the wifi function makes me believe it could be the best pdaphone to date. If you have the right softwares 'like me (lol) then you will surely enjoy this phone. I will just wait for that pegasus to come out before deciding what to buy.

salaaam PPC-DOC & asus lovers, good 2 hear from u. gimme a solution to hear loud on my 525. you know, i had a Nokia Communicator & i would always talk on speakerphone. coz it was very loud & at the same time my voice would also go with great clarity. let me know what solutions you all have come up with. if you know some great ones, please shout at [email protected] Asus Service guy> like u say that the problem with 525 is the low sound. can u list any way how we can improve this situation? And so far folks, im very happy to see the numeric keypad in my PDA. I always see other users complaining of having 2 use both the hands for using their phones all the time. Its a hassle really. there is another way for them, probably by using softwareswhere the keyboad alphabets are big enuff for the thumb. then u use ur thumb instead of the stylus. just my 2 cents.. cheers folks. - the phone fits in my pocket & looks sleek too.

Borgis, you can get the unit at greenhills for about 28,500-30+ pesos depending what store you go to. After further thought I decided to keep it for awhile as there is no other phone that I believe can compete with the p525. I know a lot of the vendors at Greenhills and will be going there on saturday.

about equalizer p525 has only bass and trible adjust and balance (quite very good sound ) transcriber you can find in input methods with keyboard ,and....( i use keypad and transcriber since 2 years)i write messeges same speed as writing on paper. USE 40iPLAY for music play (its the best software you will ever have for music) it have the best sound ,10 times better then(pocket player,tcpmp, simple tunes,mediaplayer ...)http://iplay.40th.com/ or the second best music player is gsplayer2 freeware let me know for any questions.

cruise > with HOLD on (keylock) can answer it instantly with one key stroke even when it is locked. ? -- answer is YES. whn the phone rings, u can answer it by pressing the Green answer button on the keypad. uma > about the lag in T9, yes, its a problemo. But i just checked out the Transcriber. neat stuff. faster than the QWERTY keyboard & the T9 or the on-screen keyboard. Just u train it a bit & voila, u can write long emails with ease. >> one thing ive noticed with my Jabra BT-135 is that it sometimes echoes when the phone is is my hand. but this echo is gone once i put the phone to sleep & continue talking on the bluetooth. any of u notived that ? ---- so far, the softwares are really a lot. its improving my productivity. Thanks for the reply, but it's quite depressing that you also experience the lag problem when texting. Hope that Asus makes an update about that, cause for me it's annoying especialy when you made a wrong letter then you will have to wait for 1 second what letter did you made wrong, then erase it. Plus for a phone running in intel 416MHz Xcale Processor it's VERY VERY wierd to these kind of lag problems for a PDA phone. I love my Asus P525, with great features, but with little problems like this is missed is quite a "turn off". Or this also happens to other PDA phone that has numeric or QWERTY keypad?

I have been a SE Pxxx user and like the other phones when the phone rings, you can answer it instantly with one key stroke even when it is locked. Does this applies to Asus p525, too?

PBX, 1. How to send files via bluetooth? ------> Turn your bluetooth on, then go to the file you want to send, Select and hold it, then select "beam file" 2. Is the P525 has changeable message tone? Changeable ringtone? ------> for personalized message tones, copy the .wav file to: My Device\Windows folder. just copy it there and then go to Settings->Sounds and Notifications->New Text Message (in the drag drop window) \ then select the file you want to set as your message tone. -------> For personalized ringtones, select and the .mp3 or .wav file you want to set as your ringtone, then select "Set as ringtone". voila. -------> Here's what i do: copy the .wav or .mp3 ringtone and paste to: My Device/Windows/Rings After copying go to Settings->Phone In the ringtones drop down menu, you should be able to see the ringtones you recently copied. 3. T9 - ABC input via numeric keypad is a hassle. is there a option that you will set the numeric input to T9, ABC im\nput? -------> I don't think so, unless they come up with a patch or a software upgrade. Plus do you notice LAG in the letters showing up, when you are typing via t9 - ABC input? -----> yep. hope this helps!

okay asus pegasus will be out soon, but the gps is almost useless specially in the philippines. maybe its better to choose P525 rather than the pegasus. The good: Compact design; comfortable to hold; onboard numeric keypad; 2-megapixel camera with autofocus; Wi-Fi and Bluetooth; two to three days of battery life; business card application. The bad: Hard-to-press "2" and "5" on keypad; sluggish operation at times; soft ringtones; no self-portrait camera option. The bottom line: The Asus P525 may not be the most feature-rich handheld device in the market, but the inclusion of a numeric keypad will certainly appeal to those who like their cellular PDAs to function more like a phone. but overall 8.5 better watch out about Windows Mobile 6.

thanks a lot folks, i bought the P525. major reason is it has the keypad (for dialing with one hand), looks sleek, does fit in my jeans pocket comfortably. actually i was using Nokia 9210. so, for me its not at all bulky. about the Asus Pegasus (P735), its gonna have GPS & no keypad. this is what the Asus ppl told me here in Dubai. --about using the phone, the volume in the speakerphone is not really high. does not wake me up from sleep ;) my nokia communicator 9210 was a really high volume. i think im gonna get some high pitched ringtones from the net to rectify tht. --it has a handy recording button. while talking on the phone, u just press the HOLD button (which is also used for keylock) & hold it till u want the conversation 2 b recorded. nice feature. --the keypad keys are small, so have to get used to it. i took this phone so i could dial without seeing the keypad. so, that way i can see the road while driving. guys, please b careful whn u do this while driving. its really really dangerous. another way is to better park on the side. -- there is a jabra bluetooth device free with it. its a stereo. nothing great. has some slight disturbance if u take it more than 3 meters away from the phone. (the box says 10m distance, but thts crap) -- the camera has autofocus & is really good. starts fast, not like Atom which takes 6-8 seconds to start. has the burst (mutiple pics one after the other) option too. -- i got this Asus P525 for Dhs 2200 (with free Jabra Bluetooth BT-135 & 1 gig miniSD card). But i told him i need a 2 gig sanDisk miniSD & he charged me an extra Dhs 100 for that. This is the best offer i could find in Dubai. the problem is nobody here knows about Asus phones. there were just a handful of shops. im sure the price i paid is bad. coz u guys in KL, manila got for less. and here the covertec protective plastic is first of all not available. after running around, one shop has it for Dhs 40. and for the car charger, he gave me an OEM ~some unknown stuff for Dhs 30 -- there is a good learning curve for ppl who get a PDA the first time. u must b prepared to get used to Windows Mobile 5. what i miss the most from communicator is that u can rename the fields in while entering the Contact numbers. for example, i can have my friends mobile number, her dads mobile number, her mums mobile number --- all in one contact. its a neat feature. but i cant seem to do that in the Windows Mobile version. -- sticking with the contacts issue, the names appear as John Smith or Smith, John i want them all to be just John Smith. thats it. no first name, last name crap. let me know what u think. and if u know some good sites where to get hold of neat stuff to improve communication with Windows Mobile, please lemme know. thanks. will keep u all posted later. take care.

Is there a way to set the t9 ABC input always. it's a hassle to set the t9-ABC input always when I am texting. let me begin with *Carlos ,that could happend if you push the p525 hard on your cheeks. *and ibrahim ,the p525 looks great and doesnt look sheap at all and the size fits . *cruise about infrared work great (better then xda2 mini ) i use novi remote control and its more powerfull. *tacaza about sound quality is good and have built in trible and bass and balance obtions. camera its the best pocket pc camera on the market now , auto focus ,flash i just love the quality. *hany the video quality is max 15 fps 320*240 .MP4 or max 176*144 .3gp. *Uma -send via bluetooth is the obtion beam file (must turn on BT first ). -message tone can be changed from settings/personal/sounds & -yep for t9 just press * for 3 sec and you will have the obtions. Hi Guys, Asus Pegasus is a good design but if its gonna have built-in GPS then its gonna be priced a little higher than the P525. And its gonna be launched later. It'll take atleast 2 months more. So, in the mean time. I believe we gotta go for Asus P525. Im planning to get it soon. I just wanna know if its comfortable to put in in your pant pockets. I have a Nokia Communicator 9210. And yes, after a long time, I can finally get any phone I want. I started hunting for the good PDA's & i kinda liked the O2 Atom, Stealth, Jamin, Imate PDAL. My main concern is to have a small phone with a big screen. Cause I want it to fit in my pocket. Ive read all the comments here on Asus P525. And I have gone through may reviews from the web. So far, on average the overall rating from what the users say is like 8/10. My only concern now is that its a lill big :( Anywayz, im gonna checkout the phone tomorrow to see how it feels in my pocket. In Dubai, it costs about $600. hi all. i want to say something about voice quality,i had xda 2 mini and i was used to the voice quality and then on christmas i bought THE ASUS P525 and i made i phone call ,i was shocked... i thought the person i am talking to is next to me,I was like WOW.(F*** xda mini ,it was like distortion and like u r in a concert while you r talking and high frequency sound) since i bought the asus i laught at all other ppcs ,i owned (xda 2,xda 2 mini,mda universal,xda neo i was going to tytn but i didnt made the mistake) i want to say something about speed (not cpu speed)overall speed. the device is the fastet on the market i played with all phones on the market p990i and all touch screen pdas, beleive me none could compete with asus speed. asus has done good job with the device (mainely withthe main board of the device),cause cpu speed is same as other ppc but the whole pack is like WOW . i wanna recommand a must program for all P525 used ,and its Smartdial(htc program ) it run perfectly on asus p525 and its make 200% like easer to dial phone numbers from contacts only by using the keypad. could be fined on all forums out there. any furthure question about p525 i am ready to answer.

@ candy Sorry, the Php 29,200 was a typo. I purchased mine at Php 29,900, as originally stated in my previous post, which seems to be the going price for this phone. It would have been nice though if it was actually selling at 29,200 somewhere.

I just got my Asus P525 last Tuesday. Bought it for Php 29,900 at memoexpress in Festival Mall in Alabang (Phil) and i have to say i love it! Was torn between this, a p990i and an xda stealth, and I'm glad I chose this one. Really great phone. I used to own an Xda Mini and the P525 beats it hands down. I pair it with a Jabra BT160 and haven't experienced any problems with it. I'm just wowed by the accuracy of the voice commands (esp. voice dialing). Although I have to admit, the 2 and 5 buttons plus the joystick, does need getting used to, as i do press the wrong keys a lot especially when i'm not looking while texting. I like the finish of the unit, it doesn't look cheap. I also like the size of the phone, not that pocketable, but with a great looking phone like that, you wouldn't want to keep it in your pocket all day long. =) The stylus though, could have been better, maybe less plastic-ky, and more like that of the xda. Camera, best one in the market. I was expecting a bad camera since, Cameras of PDA phones aren't known for their quality. The XDA mini (1.3 MegaPix) had a horrible camera, even a VGA camera was better. The p525 however, produced great pics, even when it was dark (with the help of the flash of course). It's comparable to the pictures produced by SE k750i (might even be better, in my opinion). Any gripes? Hmm... probably: (1) the use of the keypad. Whenever you activate it, its set with predictive T9 as default, so you have to constantly press the # button in order to change to "Abc" and press the # of buttons to add symbols. But that's just nitpicking. (2) The new WM 5.0 needs getting used to. (but like every new gadget, getting familiar with the interface is where the fun is) (3) The hold button is really hard to press (or slide up/down) you have to use your fingernails, which might scratch the unit. (probably because it's new?) I just hope it doesn't loosen too much due to wear and tear. (4) Doesn't come with a packaged miniSD. CONCLUSION: all in all a really great phone. Hasn't hanged on me yet, nor has it restarted. Great job ASUS. i'd give it an 8/10 rating. The (-1) is for the texting interface, since i text a lot, and the other (-1) has to do with the other gripes. But like i said, i really like the phone, and everyday, i discover something that make me like it more. Oh yeah, BTW, someone asked about how to search your contacts using the keypad. here's what you do: When you open your phonebook, press the joystick upwards so that it clears up the "search bar" (i don't know what else to call it), the one that says "Enter a name or number..." then, press the # button to shift to T9 then press and hold the #button to shift to Abc. Then search away. The great thing about the search function is that it searches all names in your contact, so if for example you search for "john" and your phonebook has "John Denver" and "Raymond John" then both contacts will appear. Sorry if this is quite long. 'Nuff said.

And yes, there is a lag when typing an sms using the keypad.. Small issues for a device that ranks at the top of my list.. I've had many pda/phones.. ie, Sony p990, htc tytn, Benq p50,etc.. this is the best by far..It's as if Asus has taken the best qualities from all these phones and put it into the P525..The build quality of the Benq p50, speed of the tytn, camera and business card recognizer of the P990.. great phone..

Hello everyone, i've had this phone since last september and my only gripe is the toggle.. cant get it to go straight down.. it will go diagonal instead...Does anyone else have this problem? Its not a bad toggle because when I play games its fine... As to peoples question on how to find contacts for sending sms or whatever just using the keypad-- Well for me, all i do is when I get to the contacts menu, I press up with the directional toggle, hold down the * key, select t9, hold the * key again and select the Abc.. works fine for me..

Hi its unbelievable device!! But I have a question about the bluetooth every time I send something via bluetooth the p525 ask the other device (receiver) about passkey. How can I send without giving may passkey to the receiver device??

I got the device 2 says back. The build quality is fasinating(in the same class as nokias and SE's), plus it really turns the heads around. But like all pocket Pc's , its got its drawbacks. Occasionally u have to reset to get it functioning again(but who cares, i had the same sort of problem with the P990 also). Display and camera is wonderful. If u havent decided between P990 and this device and if 3G is no issue to u, dont hesitate to go for this one.

In regard to your question can you type and use hand writing in different colours yes this device supports that functionality ive just tried it and works a treat...as to this device has lesser functionality well i feel that to be a liitle harsh as yes it doesnt have 3g and HSDPA,Slide out keyboard Wifi g speed etc...BUT...its the fastest PDA benchmark wise so far and has the best camera for MS pda bar none,it doesnt crash and wifi speed g can be got via a registry hack...build quality puts Htc and 99% pdas to shame. I have had countless PDAs and i will say this...this PDA will be my new benchmark of which future tense PDAs will be measured by. So beware all you Manufacturers Asus/Asustek is the new __STANDARD______

Hi Mr Francesco, I've been considering so many PDA fons and seems like P525 is the most practical so far despite having lesser advance features e.g. WiFi only "b" and not "g". I'll be buying 2 of this by year end, 1 for myself and 1 for my wife, once I've sold my E.S.O.S. Since u are the expert with this fon, can u pse tell me whether it is possible to jot or draw something in multicolor similar the "Paint" function in the normal PC Windows program using the handwriting recognition function. The only way to get this is to import it...Mobile Gadgets are very good..best importer ive used. I live in the Uk same boat as you but well worth the money...HTC and other manufacturers need to follow the standards of ASus they now set the bench mark for quality in build and rom,,they are the best bar NONE!!!!

Bought this phone 3 days ago, took me a while to learn how to write/type on this thing. But I kinda figured it out after playing with it for 2 days. Been pleased with it ever since. Its nice not to have to pull the stylus out all the time.

hi In answer to your questions to writing reconition in order to activate this will work in word documents - writing long sentences please select transcriber in menu setup in word app, off you go write to your hearts content - there is a little learning curve in learning to write in the way os understands but quite easy. You also asked how to use keys for alpha numerical search in contacts make sure you have selected abc-123 by pressing star button then goes to contact use scroll middle joy stick button to high light search field, then use keys to select name letters or numbers pressed will narrow down name. Job done hope this helps.

The way to increase volume on this handset is to download TCPMP this will play all Music and Video Files including MP4,etc...and also has a pre amp to increase sound job done...hope this helps if you have any questions just post away i have all your answers..

Thnak you so much Mr. FA. I'm now enjoying the bass, treble & 3d.But Is there anyway to amplify the sound cuz our Nokia N70, 6680 & motoL6 still sounds a bit stronger. I'd also like to download about 2 of mt fav movies and i dnt know how to go about it. I installed 512mb mini sd.Correct me if im wrong but p525 doesnt have mp4 that makes movies compressed in size, you see my concern is not to consume huge amount of mb's. Mr. Francesco, i was so impressed with your review of the P525. I must say that you really are a guru. But one thing is not clear with me regarding sound i have my unit for about a week now and i cant find a way to configure the sound to effect bass, treble, and 3d adjustment as quoted in your review. My p525 is still stock and the sound is not that loud. I hav'nt downloaded anything yet so my question is. Does P525 stock unit has treble/bass/3d adjustments and if so where can i find it settings or programs.

Viper, I agree with the person that posted beneath. I also believe you were unlucky with the 2 units you received. I had that echo problem before with the benq p50 and my htc tytn. Contact asus again and see what can be done. I have never experienced your problem since I have had this phone. And my unit is an early build date. I haven't upgraded the firmware and it's perfect aside from the toggle issue I stated a few days ago. Good luck

I purchased this PDA phone last week. I must say i am deeply dissapointed with the phone module. Everytime I make a call or receive a call, the person on the other end of the conversation complains of hearing their own voice echoing. This echo effect has made my phone pretty much unusable. What strikes me is that I purchased 2 of these phones, and they both have the same problem. I contact support and all they say is to do a hard reset and update the firmware. I have done both and still the problem persists on both phones. Can anyone help with this neverending echo effect?

hello, i've had this phone since late december and i am quite impressed with it. my only gripe is the joystick. for some reason i am only allowed to scroll downward on the home screen, but if i am trying to scroll down in any other program, it does this weird right or left at a downward angle move. does anyone else have this problem? i thought that it could be a faulty unit, but when i am playing games, or on the homescreen, it works fine..

The Review As promised here is my review of the Asus P525 i received it yesterday 13.11.2006 i didnt get going on this machine until 22.00 last night so im quite tired, i have had many Pocket Pcs over the years and so im very critical of these Phones. My first impressions of this phone is that alot of love and attention to detail has gone into the Phones looks and software and hardware. The Speed of the phone is just incredible just click an application and instantly its ready...to mention also that active sync loads instantly on your desktop wow... I started testing the phone on the things i know Pocket Pcs fall down on, Music play back...smaller Pc are not normally as good as the larger ones but this has to be one of the best PPCs ive used to date there are bass and treble and 3d,volume selection options which makes a difference quite considerably to the sound production. The Sound is loud and crisp bass is very punchy ,production of sound is first rate. This was tested using TCPMP and Core Player. Video, again i encoded a couple of Star Trek Voyager episodes at video 400kps and sound as 128kps total load 528kps at 24 frames per second using turbo mode and expuscaler again no frame drop out This is fantastic for such a small device the size of a P990 ,this puts it in the league of a Dell Axim x51v Games i downloaded Sky force as a test and its the fastest Gameplay ive seen on a pocket Pc again Wow. Really i have to say i am very impressed whatever i throw at this device it just slaps me in the face and handles anything i throw at it Camera pictures ive taken are sharp and colourful and are up there with the likes of the P990 and the best 2mp Camera phones this one of the very few PPC with Auto Focus. The thing i really like is that all of the PPc functionality can be driven of the phone keypad on the bottom of the phone so no need to use the stylus And when you want to use PPc like a phone it behave like a normal Phone. Please note this phones does not have 3G or HSDPA or edge but these service are very patchy as they are location based so no great shakes for me but for raw power very little beats this Ninja in disguise in terms of its software set,hardware design and most important of all realabilty i give this phone 10/10 never has a phone delivered so much power and steadiness and quality and this reason alone this has to be the undisputed king of PPc why because phones like P990 very little software and phones is slow....Mda Vario/Tytn lots of functionality but have to keep resetting this phone freezes alot and doesnt have the quality that Asus has. Asus P525 usesa mini sd cards and has 2.5mm input for headphones..so 2.5mm to 3.5mm adaptor is required....the screen is bright and colourul. Wifi connects very quickly and so does bluetooth afterall is said and done this has been 1st on your list this phone delivers sheer quality and has the midus touch whatever it does it does very well any questions just ask away. This is the first time i have not been dissapointed with a PPC. This phone was supplied to me by Mobile Gadgets which was delivered from Germany in 3 working days to me in UK great service.

I live in the Uk and i have just ordered Asus P525..the thing that really appeals to me is the best of both worlds Smartphone/Pda funtionality ,i have a hunch that smartphone apps might work on this phone as well PPc software soon i will know. From what i have read at the moment this is the fastest PPc phone from spb benchmark testing ,so we know this ia a good quality product. I feel Asus P525 is hughely under-rated when i get this device i will do a menu review and if you guys have any questions just fire away and i will do my best to answer them. I know this device does nt have 3g/HSDPA i tried spv 3100 and Mda Vario II i was actually dissappointed as 3.5g as these services only work in 3g Areas which for me is very very patchy so no great shakes that Asus P525 doesnt have this. I have owned past tense near enough every microsoft Smartphone and PPc and there are times when a smartphone isNT man enough for the job in hand and times when i just want to make a phone call...SO THERES great potential for this device also please note i have seen a couple of photos taken from this device and for a 2meg camera there are actually very good very low noise and sharp and colourful it would scare the pants of a P990I so hold tight this week week commencing 06.11.2006 i should take delivery of my shiny Asus P525 from Mobile Gadgets.

ASUS brand is known for videocards,motherboards, and audio, no doubt that this one(if officially announced) will gonna beat all high end products from the mobile giants,.. same features with XDA Trion/HTC tytn,SE P990... only lacks 3G and this is explainable,.. this is a PocketPC phone, stands as a minicomputer so no much use on 3G videocalling, mostly internet and skype utilizes the use of WIFI(faster)... and personally this is my favorite Hardware Brand... and in the near future, these will pair up with Sony Ericsson o be it's gratest competitor in PDA phones...:-)

Overall its has all facilities we look in a mobile phone. But if it had 3G it would have been the best phone offered by any mobile phone manufacturer.

It's not worth buying this model. Asus P535 (enhanced version with GPS and wi-fi g) will be out in December.

I've saw this phone in Malaysia, is a very nice phone with all the spec that available. Currently, the price here was RM 2588 in Malaysia currency. One more thing that i saw was the resolution was very clear when you watch a movie. The battery still has approx 30min after watching spiderman movie.

This is without a doubt the best designed phone with a quick to call and sms numberpad and a touchscreen. It would be the perfect mobile if it had 3G and a Fm radio.

the nicest ASUS phone yet. Good roundish design and small size. I hope GSMarena would come up with a review for this phone. too bad it doesn't have 3G but the wi-fi capability is really more useful (and faster)... It's one the best-looking Windows mobile phone I've seen... The features really kick.
