Asus Transformer Pad TF300T - User Reviews

  • I got 8 of these in mint shape, they just needed batteries replaced. I've replaced 3 so far, the tablets are great if you're just using them to watch Netflix. Everything seems to crash/time out. The hardware is good but Asus really should have supported newer versions of Android. I will be rooting and installing a custom ROM. Hopefully that resolves the issues as it's a shame something with such a gorgeous screen go to waste!

  • check the ribbon of touch screen there are printed versions you can also check this link

  • I need help to buy an Asus TF300TA touch, i don¨t know if exists different versions and how to identify them. Thank you

  • Hard reset by holding the power button and volume down, then when android screen comes on press volume down twice and then volume up and wait. This is all that has to be done.

  • I can't get my ASUS to load up from the power on. It just keeps on trying to load. How do I fix this.

  • is possible to chanche voltage in Asus TF300 T / from 15V on normal as to use USB charger phone or every phones android?

  • I traded my ps3 at gamestop it was the kindle fire or Asus transformer pad tf300t I have 28gb internal and a 32 gb mini card I had the s3 Galaxy together they were great till the s6 Galaxy assumptions of mini card in addition to the 27 gb internal memory. both are equally till today I believe 3 years ago. got a screen protector now got hp streem laptop it is 27 gb of internal memory. all three are linked through the cloud. both laptop and phone are always looking for storage space needed phone holds 1 video 1 game and only good pix with flash. this Asus tablet has cool hidden features and never buggs me to free up storage to view the pic I just took s6 alway gives me storage stories hp streem laptop too but has a mini card slot and standard hdmi out the only trouble with the tablet was that the mini hdmi port never actually worked and just till a few months ago the Tegra 3 was b. S. Google play store had a way of fixing it just don't ask me about how. I downloaded a game that came with Tegra and supported the game on the tablet and gave me the correct Tegra free download. I gave my brother of 10 my s3 Galaxy he uses minecraft and Google play just no cell service I had infinity hot spots hooked up he still has Internet Wifi while at Chinese food restaurant while the other brother's didn't. so the s3 an the Asus transformer pad tf300t 28 gb are in equal status. don't rely on the cloud anything that cost a monthly payment for storage space while using a device is got an I pod or pad amazon has 32g mini memory card for 5$ my tablet is the most reliable and now I have been updated with the ability to much more than day 1. 300$ then 150 now amazon has a trade in buy for a gift card 50$. 500 for the computer with a year warranty 200 for the phone 2 yrs contract I hate the Samsung Galaxy S 6 the most. inefficient no more memory card slot I can't wait to give it away if he didn't break the s3 screen I would've traded my new phone for the old one. Asus is like all tech some suck but 3 years and I still have ultimate gaming and pix vids Google play sincs with you tube minecraft too avoid the cloud storage glitch it's convenient for you but not wen ur free 10gs are full it shutts all memory related storge off till you erase a game or a video to take a pic

  • My friend that I bought this from said only the blue one does not have 3G. That's all I can tell you.

  • I seen rumors that this thing can support up a 64GB SDXC or up to a 128 GB SDXC card will work with this. Look into it if your interest or have the need for it and proceed with caution.

  • I done screen replacement before, make sure you buy correct model, mine is 5158. Go Youtube to search replacement

  • i have problems replacing my asus tf300t touch screen can you please help me am in kenya

  • how do you confirm a bluetooth file that is recieving???

  • Just search on google "unlock and root asus tf300t" and when you do that, search "asus tf300t android development xda" from there you will find everything you need to install lollipop. Btw. my lollipop rom is KatKiss 5.0 by @timduru

  • Mine is extremely slow. I have to close apps constantly. The interface does not feel very friendly in my opinion.

  • Like everyone else, it's way to slow, this guy said he's gonna change rom,, how do I do that??? Plus he put it on Android 5.0.2, again any help on how to custom rom it, and go with 5.0.2, thank you. Thomet Thomett@gmail

  • I have mine for over 2 years and never had any problems with it except it became unusiably slow. I fixed that by unlocking it and installing custom rom. now it has Android 5.0.2 and its extremely fast and responsive. 25 080 on antutu 5.5 is no joke!!

  • We want Android 4.4

  • Ive had one for about 2 and a half years now and every time i use it I regret the £400 it cost me. Nothing but trouble from the day I got it and the customer service I received was extremely bad. It had big issues with the touch screen not working intermittently but when sent back to ASUS the could not find a fault so returned it with the same problems, then it developed a flickering screen screen and ASUS said that if I sent it back again and they could not find a problem I would be charged. Ended up taking the back off and finding a loose connection and fixed it myself but it shows a lack of quality I think! It runs extremely slowly most of the time and I used to spend lots of time waiting for it, now I find it quicker to start my laptop if I need to do anything. After about 14 months the metal tags that hold the screen to the keyboard snapped (not through any misuse). You only have to try and play something like Asphalt 8 to see it not cope with process heavy games. DO NOT PURCHASE ONE OF THESE!!!!

  • i purchased a asus tf300t, upon receipt it would not charge it was replaced by the seller, next the screen cracked and went for repair under warranty fine, 6 months later it would not charge went back again for repair under warranty fine, 6 months later would not charge again. sorry out of warranty they would repair if i paid for repair and shipment. my response to asus is bye bye bye bye

  • please get the screen clean with a clean damp napkin

  • Otherwise okay tablet, except a terrible backspace problem with using some programs suchas default browser. Pressing backspace randomly (yeah, randomly) shuts down the program discarding all that was typed. Same goes with docked typepad. This feature alone drops my rating from 9.0 to 5.0. I cant recommend a product which has such terrible issues not fixed, and i dont give a shit whether it's the default browser or operation system which causes it. Ive lost so many texts mid typing. If youre a writer, dont buy Asus as a portable typewriter.

  • How can i fix my asus transformer t300t, lately i cant use it because its not clickable,it keeps on moving, even if i have to put it off i have to exert a lot of effort to catch up with it.please help so i will be satisfied choosing this brand and model.thank you

  • I can't make phone calls from my Asus TF300TG...please someone help me.

  • me too. damn asus. my laptop and tablet both having charging problem. seriously asus dun hv a good tech on that

  • Mine is ok. I've never had a problem with the keyboard docked. The only downside I've had is the lag. As soon as the warranty expires, I'll be rooting and installing a different ROM.

  • does it have proximity sensor?

  • Mine is junk. Keyboards quit working sometimes, can't backspace sometimes, copy and paste is an exercise in futility, it pastes wherever the hell it wants to, sometimes where the cursor is, sometimes in the middle of other text. You can never paste anything on the first try. I wouldn't buy another one, and after hearing how bad Asus service is I haven't bothered trying to get them to help.

  • The form of this tablet keyboard is great. However, it has serious design flaws in the keyboard dock. Numerous reports of the dock not charging, and smoking when connected to tablet. I experienced this right away and Asus repaired under warranty. Happened again after a few months. Asus wants to charge for repair now. Serious design flaw. I strongly suggest you consider buying another tablet with detachable keyboard. I won't buy any Asus products again.

  • My class was chosen to test this tablet for school wishes this and next year. I'm using it now for around two months and I have to say, I pretty much like it. I use it from around five in the morning and between the day to like eleven o'clock, but most of the times I used it for the whole day and while vacations, when I wanted to go to sleep, the battery was still half full, and in many ways this is a great thing, thought it's not recommended to full it while it's still half full. Like yesterday. And I just must say I love the keyboard, it's easier to type on it and it's even nice colour. We also got a 'bag' for it, so it looks bigger than it is, but when I take it out, it still seems huge. It has loads of memory. I think around 28 GB? Something like that, anyways. It's easy to do anything on it, though I hate how slow it becomes sometimes when I try to close programs. The speakers are okay, maybe too quiet for me, but since I have some problems with hearing, I think it's just great. And just the colour... while I have this stunning white, some of my classmates got red and two of them even blue, and they're all just georgeous

  • Had this tablet for 1 year. The display broke easily and the whole table fried, while opening it one day :(

  • Re charger and battery, will only charge when running from the asus charger. If its failing to charge the battery you may be up for a new charger rather than battery replacement. Try leaving plugged into another charger and off for a couple of days to see if battery charges.

  • I am writing because I need new charger(I will handle that ok), but I have hunch that battery has failed and want a avg. price to replace internal battery, and the keyboard dock will not take charge that I watched twirl the drain so I am guessing I need. INTERNAL BATTERY, KEYBOARD/DOCKING STATION... I own the blue TF300T but all the groves are in a circle not the more current opposing half-moons. Pls. email [email protected] EST. or if you could provide link to how this is handled. Thanks, Corey N. Mahoney 78 Portland St. 4 Buffalo, NY 14220 [email protected]

  • Sometimes it hangs even if is not an heavy application. System update from asus doesn't resolve much. I think Asus MUST do more testing on their products. Don't buy.

  • I purchased my asus 6 months ago, it works great...thanx

  • Make sure that you root this device and overclock it because it's slow as hell compered to the performance of devices today!

  • I am so dissatisfied with the transformer I have to the point of utter frustration!! It!orks when it wants to, over heats and the touch screen, that is a touch joke. Sent it off for repair, that is another sour topic. This thing is the worst.

  • When we purchased the Asus Tablet TF300T last April we also purchased the keyboard so we would have extra battery life for trips etc. A few months after the purchase the keyboard stopped working and next thing we knew there was smoke when we plugged it in to charge. It went in for repair. Not long after receiving the unit back the battery icon for the keyboard stopped showing up and battery life was less than before. We sent it in again. It came back and not long after the same issue. It went in a third time - This time Asus paid the shipping charges both ways. The day it came back from repair the 3rd time the battery icon stopped showing again and this time the touch pad did not work. It is on the way back a fourth time. We have asked for a replacement that works but we just keep getting the run-around. Does anyone know who to escalate issues with Asus to get results? Thank you

  • HDMI out no longer outputs to 1080p after the latest update. No way...No how. It wont even output 1080P video recorded with the tablets own camera! DO NOT UPGRADE!! This update is a joke!

  • ASUS Updates Firmware for Its Transformer Pad TF300T to 10.6.1.15.3 The developers managed to resolve the IME bug and other minor issues. When taken alone, these fixes dont improve performance that much, but together they really make a change. Moreover, HDMI compatibility with other devices is improved, Gmail works better with Splashtop, and the security level is raised because now only the owners account is able to access any settings or UI referring to the external storage. • Based on my experience playing web-based game Google Play apps such as Dark Summoner, the 4.1 update made the experience much slower in general (and the same goes even for messing around with just the home screen). Updating to 4.2 made things considerably better, and the performance speed-up sure made me feel finally like *that* is the true Jellybean experience.

  • O have updated my tf300 into jellybean, unfortunately when you connect your device to the tv through hdmi and play movies it is no longer adjusting itself to fullscreen the samw is hapenning when you're playing videos through youtube.

  • I am disappointed rather... i am now receiving a system update again... and still i dont know why..

  • I just received an update this morning. And before i started to install it, i looked first its version and that is 4.1.1. After installing the new update, it still 4.1.1. I dont know the update is what for. Im confused that this device doesnt support adobe flash player.

  • I tried using a logitec mouse but it did not work. if any one has been using a blue tooth mouse on this device it would be appreciated if we could have the brand and model number

  • ASUS begins rolling out Android 4.2 for the Transformer Pad TF300T in the US

  • I have android 4.2 on mine

  • No. U can use your phone as wi fi hotspot and then connect your tablet with phone.

  • Can this device be connected to the internet any other way besides through wi-fi?

  • All Tegra 3 quad core devices lag a lot, i would not even call it lags, its more like hangs and freezes. Its because the 5th core is trying to do things alone, the 4 main cores are always asleep when you need them. This tablet even freezes for a second on text input! Insanely low browsing performance, really terrible tablet. DO NOT BUY THIS, or any other tablet/phone with Tegra 3 quad core. Tegra 4 is the same tragedy, that why it has flopped even before it is put into mass production, no manufacturers want to buy the cråp. Thats great news for consumers, soon lagging android devices will be history, now when Asus and HTC will stop flooding the market with Tegra 3 devices.

  • does not have stereo speakers

  • yes , the bluethoot mouse works fine

  • U need to charge it through USB wire and the modem they gave it won't charge through any other methods

  • may i know its price in usd? thanks!

  • Has any one tried using a blue tooth mouse with this device?

  • i have a problem with it! my tf300tg cant send or recieve messages after 2-3 minutes. when i power it on it works well but for 2-3 minutes! after this time it says "this servise currently unavailable, please try later" any one have this problem too?

  • My TF 300 recently said the android was being upgraded. It was on 4.1.1 earlier. I see no change to the version after the upgrade. Not sure of the build and other numbers. Did you had an upgrade recently? If yes, have any of u guys seen any noticeable changes after the upgrade?

  • Google nexus 10 is better, and cheaper!

  • My experience with this quad-core device is bugs and lags. Significantly, after playing for a while, it starts clicking by itself nonstop even i did hard reset. Thinking exchange it for ss galaxy note 10.

  • This tablet doesn't have Gorilla Glass, the TF200 did and the TF700 does, they skipped ours to keep the cost conservative.

  • Anyone had any cracks to the back of the casing of the tablet? Mine has a star shaped crack which has developed near where it clips to the keybord section but the screen is unaffected. Any comments of experience would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • A good review is here

  • I bough ome a few months ago, i can only say positive things about it. First of all build quality is top notch, the gorilla scratch resistant is outstanding, even if the image quality is not amoung the best out there, it won't let you down, being ips you can see from any view angle you choose. The update to 4.1 improved a lot. The bundled apps that comes out of the box, are useful specially the polaris office. So you get, excellent hardware with quad core, great design, and superb productivity with the dock station, f for less than an Ipad.... If want to grab an android tablet do your self a favour and pick the this one, you won't regret your choice

  • Get yourself a good player app like mxplayer and you can play virtually any videos. Its all about codec support

  • Yes it supports LTE! Buy "ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TL 4G/LTE" it has "NVIDIA Tegra 3, 32GB SSD, 2x kamera, GPS, WLAN, 3G, 4G/LTE, Docking, Android 4.0"!

  • asus transformer pad tf300tl 4g/lte

  • will it support LTE ?

  • Thats kinda odd, i have had the thing since may and haven't had one problem with it. I suppose its just the luck of the draw.

  • With the right player(codecs) Android plays everything.

  • does it play MKV and FLV files?

  • I just brought it today and it does not charge at all,I had to change it for 3 times and the problem remains ,I'm going to ask for a refund tomorrow

  • ASUS Transformer Pad TF300TG is fantastic, it is a tablet but the keyboard-dock makes it even better than a MacBook Air!

  • Have had my android jellybean update today took me ages on tether to my galaxy S2 on 3 network. Could do with 4g network and phone (maybe in two years when my contract due to renew). Shame my S2 not LTE.

  • does it has a gorilla glass??

  • you can purchase this via Shopworldph i got mine there :)

  • This device is available here in Philippines. Unfortunately I was unable to find tablet only because most stores that I have asked are selling tablet+dock.

  • It has gorilla glass itself?

  • Thanks Nikolaus :) It's just so hard to find here in the Philippines. Apparently it will only be released on the first week of August so I still have some time to think whether I will be getting a laptop or this one. Thanks a bunch.

  • The dock does indeed support external disks, it powers portable hard drives by itself as well. Awesome piece of engineering!

  • No worries. Thanks for your time though. :)

  • Sorry i can help you here since i dont have the Docking keyboard (i bought only the Tab)

  • Are you referring to the broadband dongles? Dongles probably would not work because they require software to be installed on your windows computer which would not be supported by the android operating system. Unless, of course, the supplier of your dongle has written the broadband software for use in the android OS.

  • Can I connect USB modem to browse internet?

  • Can I connect USB modem to browse internet?

  • Thanks for the info. But if you can, could you try it out if its not too much bother? I'm thinking of buying one and since its games are not as many as those of the iPads, I'll probably be using it to watch movies more often. Thanks.

  • The problem was solved, the first time i charged the device it was on the orignal software however then i was asked to update the software and accepted. After the update i had problems with charging. The solution was very simple: I restarted the device and its changing properly now

  • I guess so .... i dont have the keyboard but a USB adapter and it recognises pretty much everything, i managed to connect even my wireless keyboard and mouse . However im not using the keyboard USB but an adapter

  • ya.........

  • The charging adapterplug sometimes does not slot0together properly. Adjust it and it charges fine.

  • Does the USB port on the keyboard support external hard disks?

  • I am using now 3G model at Singapoer TF300 TG.

  • After the last update of mxplayer its working just fine

  • Make sure that the power is on. It seems to not charge when the power is off. If the power is off and you plug it in then it should automatically boot up and go into a charging mode. If you plug the charger in and then power off it will light up as if it is charging but will not charge. There are a few weird quarks about this device that I don't necessarily like, such as the charge only while on thing. But the tablet is supreme.

  • Does anyone has problems with charging the device? I bought it 2 days ago. The first time it charged correctly but when i tried this morning it did not charge.

  • anyone have issue about mx player on asus transformer?it keep freezing and taking me to the main meniu.

  • Got mine more than a month ago. So far i`m very happy with my unit. My only complaint so far is that the speakers are placed on the right side only. No stereo imaging. Mine does not come with gsm. Its reasonably priced and specs are awesome. Highly recommended.

  • PC World UK sell the Transformer Pad inc Keyboard for £400. It has two expansion card slots so you can add a further 64 gig of memory to the in built memory which is another nail in the ipad coffin.

  • Why is this tablet was written ten days before the profile is the usability of mobile network? But today this has been denied?

  • excuse me, when asus transformer pad 300 is coming to Indonesia??

  • Are you guys sure about 3G for Pad 300 ? I don't really think so, because in my country there's no 3G Model (I don't know for another countries but I don't think this model has a 3G) Is it ? Really don't have 3G model, or just my country ? Please answer somebody :) Thank you.

  • how that ?? it contains gsm ????!!!

  • is it contain sim card?? Or can i use it as aphone too??? Bec i see it support gsm and msg !!! So can anyone answer me

  • We can't answer for everyone queries.

  • the spec given here is that the spec i c else where wats up with that

  • You can call on these tablets? The price of the tablet with the keyboard or the price is only for tablets? Please give me answer questions I'm thinking of buying a tablet

  • Thank you very much for your reply! I should have mentioned I am looking for it in red.

  • Not in UK... Thank you anyway.

  • I dont find its 'Corning Gorilla Glass' Surface..

  • No you cannot make phone calls from this tablet. If you want this feature you can check Samsung tablets.

  • you can buy here:

  • I am loving this but seriously half the video codec are not supported... :(

  • If in the UK - Dixons / Currys / PC World

  • No 3G connectivity!! What a shock!

  • Where can i buy this...?

  • Can i made a Phone call using SIM Card through this tab??

  • The released tablet DOES NOT have a GSM/3G connectivity! The 3G version will be released later. Still waiting ... want this device with 3G ...

  • no radio :p

  • Please note that specs are not correct, this tablet does not have a data connection.

  • I want to know if it uses a sim card coz I want to get one, someone please answer

  • When is it coming to india, please tell me

  • when is it going to be ready in Ghana? can I be the dealer and agent in my area?

  • WiFi-tegra 3 LTE-S4 Krait (not necessarily inferior to tegra 3)

  • its beauttiful XD and practic!!!

  • white should look awesome

  • looking soo nice ,,,& actractive .........

  • Im sorry for those who want 4g assuming you are talking about lte, no it will not 3g, i do not know, but if it has a tegra 3 chip, it is incompatible with this

  • Ok, just to answer my own question which I posted earlier. Seems as if the Pad 300 will have a Tegra chip AND 3G/4G... Unless the Asus site is incorrect :D *soo happy, now its confirmed this is the tablet I will be getting

  • I am starting to worry that this tablet won't have 3G/4G as it seems there are a lot of Tegra 3 tablets which don't have 3G/4G - although it must be possible due to there being cellphones out there which have 3G and run Tegra 3. Asus's 700 series, their Tegra 3 tablets are WiFi only and the 3G/4G versions use the Qualcomm S4 Krait chip. Can anyone actually confirm that the Transformer Pad 300 will have a Tegra 3 chip and at least 3G support?

  • if i need to talk i cant because i have a tablet, i dont like the tablets because are very expensives and i cant to make or recive calls, with the ipad only can make/recive calls from the people that have an iphone4/ipod4/ipad2 for this reason i prefer a smartphone

  • The specs would rock according to the price. If the price gets above 400 then the specs don't meet its price. Anyway tablets should be cheaper then smart phones we cant use tablets for calling and basic needs of a smart phone. Not everyone can carry it around.

  • the specs rock. am waiting for the release. this will be a tablet killer!
