faced same issue and thought there is no solution. but i m on lineage os 15. after installing advance kernel, things worked out and now camera starts focusing. sometimes it does not work, but waiting for 8-10 sec works. alternately you can just give jerk to the phone holding in your hand and it may work. just try out.

The same problem occured to me.. And I just went to the asus service centre and gave them to check for a repair. They said it was hardware fault and replaced camera for free. Tbh,I don't trust their statement. everything was working fine until the android 8.1 update. Anyway even if you doesn't have warranty, this repair cost is still absolutely free since this is their factory fault.

been using this phone for about 2 years. mostly satisfied, but loaded with bloatware and gets really full quickly, even without holding music or movies. connecting to a computer and downloading images is kind of a hassle. it has been known to shut down apps randomly and often. despite all these little glitches, i think it was a great value for the money. beautiful phone, nice bright screen, and i for one love all the dedicated buttons at the bottom.

This phone is garbage, more dumbphone than "smartphone". It's oversized, slow, six hour battery life, the screen is failing (phone was NEVER dropped even once), among other problems. I'm tempted to go back to bar phones. At least they worked.

Good phon. Till now from the date of release asus give 31 system update with two major os upgrade. It receives faster system update. Camera quality good. Battery is 2650 mah but backup is good since display size is 5.2 and thanks to the 14 nm process.

Yes, you can upgrade to N then O...did it to my ZE520KL with minimum issues since I let the bugs be fixed before jumping to the upgrades... first got the last M upgrade then the 1st N upgrade, then it will FOTA the O upgrade, pretty cool for ASUS considering this phone was released mid-2016. i have this phone and been using it for over a year now. sadly it just decided to break. i have 3 issues now. 1. headphone jack can't detect mic of headset, no matter what i use. 2. speakerphone doesn't work on video calls but works in normal phone calls 3. speaker has some static sound coming out of it i took good care of this phone but it just gave up on its own. pathetic build quality. feels like it was designed to self destruct after 1 year when warranty expires.

I can't believe this phone was actually updated to Oreo. Compared to my previous experience with HTC, having a phone nearly 2 years, a One series that was never updated to 6.0, this phone was updated twice. I bought this model of zenfone 3 about 8 months ago. So far: - android 6 is stable and best for this phone, android 7 has many issues and asus is not repairing bugs fast enough, I use 6 and battery is ok, no need yet for aggressive Doze in 7 - wifi signal and bandwidth don't have issues as some reviews claim. Connection speed range from 40Mbps to 400Mbps depending on range to the router and router brand. The antenna picks up weak signals like 40m from router outdoor while the router is indoors. - Best performance for the price, you don't find this snapdragon at this price easily. The phone doesn't heat much in full load. - The Camera is by far the best deal. Excellent with the camera app from android 6. (in nougat the users complain of many issues). The OIS makes a huge difference in low light and videos. I have not seen yet tests with expensive phones to take significantly better pictures. You can shoot in almost complete darkness without flash. Laser focus is very fast. Overall it has a better camera than 5-600 euro phones. - The battery has medium capacity, some say 2600mah is not enough but you can use the phone with the screen ON for almost 10h of browsing, so battery is more than enough when you look at the autonomy in hours not mah. And if you really need power it charges very fast when bellow 70% due to the Li-Ion charging system. In 10-15 minutes you get 300mah-450mah of charge. So doing the math, a coffee break of 20 min gives you a phone range of 3200mah during that day if you really need it :)

I already have this phone for more than 10 months. It still works out pretty good. Did update it to Android Nougat and the UI more than two months ago. Still works out pretty good. Bloatware still remains, you can delete it you want to anyway. Apps, like Audio Wizard, before updating, it was 'a' separated app, when I upgraded to Android 7 and UI version, it was integrated in the settings > sound menu. Battery after update to Android Nougat... Still remains the same, (I'm not a power user). Camera... Even if you use manual mode, and, do some tweeking, if you zoom the image, it will, still look... Smudgy... Not zooming the image, will be... Fine... (I'm not a photo junky) Performance... Both before and after the updates... Works out good... Taxing it to much "will indeed" cause skips or slow down. Listening to music... I'm not much of an audiophile... But... Here are my insights. 1. I do use a different music player, Black player and Audio Beats.. (for me, the typical Google music player sucks.. no privileges to tweek EQ).. 2. Those apps do have equalizer settings. 3. The Audio Wizard app that this phone have... Helps me to refine the sound and tweek the EQ, "on top" of the EQ that those apps have. To cut the story short... Very Good... That is... If your using earphones, typical ones or in-ears. Using a much more higher impedence cans, is a different story ... If the earphones (specially in-ears) very good, higher impedence cans, do sounds that they will need much more.. Oomph!. Problems... 1. Transferring enormously big files, from internal memory to Micro SD,( with single file with a size of 4GB or above) do takes time (more than a minute) and the phone 'does' warm up a bit while doing such. 2. Finger print magnet. Slippery... 3. Since it's body is covered with glass... I am using this phone for about 14 months. Performence was great. But few days back I suddenly noticed I can't install any app or game from google playstore. Actually this Zenfone-3(5.2" display, 3gb RAM, 32gb ROM version) is an amazing mobile when compared with many same priced/same processor mobiles. I am using this since last 3 weeks. My evaluations are as follows. Positives: 1. ultra clear display with very good brightness but not comparable with AMOLED displays while using under direct sunlight. 2. Superb speed for operations, wi-fi and data when compared with other mobiles with the same type processor. 3. amazing back and front cameras. back camera with OIS(or EIS?) is very helpful for shaky hand people whil recording videos. GIF format available for video recording. 4. good clear sound through speaker but not very loud like they are claiming. 5. ultra smooth touch. 6. superb UI, even better than MiUI, lot of customizations. 7. very easy to use. 8. getting frequent updates, expecting update'O' soon. 9. Good battery backup. With wi-fi & data on 24hrs(whatsapp & facebook active), lots of calls, I am getting more than a day battery support. 10. screen sharing available. 11. lots of themes available. 12. good network and wi-fi connectivity. 13. You're right! Our phone (I have one too) has a 1/2 camera sensor which is considered pretty large for a camera phone (same size as the Zenfone 4 sensors) and it has 16mp instead of the now usual 12mp meaning you can probably zoom in with your Zenfone 3 5.2 around 2x and even though it's not optical, it will more or less become like a 12mp crop so basically it can function just like a Zenfone 3 zoom phone. By the way, I bought a Zenfone 3 zoom in in just a few months the physical volume buttons stopped working then I got a white line on the screen. I think they have a problem with their screens but somehow the ZE520KL was spared. I'm back to my ZE520KL again.

I've been using this for a year now. No issues here - well, nothing a good hard reset after every major software update can't deal with, anyway. The physical design and build is just stunning, the daily performance and battery life are great, the camera is pretty good. ZenUI is hardly the perfect skin but Asus has been cleaning it up over the past few updates, especially with the recent 4.0 launcher update... Now waiting for the full ZenUI 4.0 + Android Oreo upgrade. With the jacked-up prices of the new Zenfone 4 devices, there's all the more reason to hang on to my ZE520KL for quite a while yet.

I dont have any autofocus issues. Only think after using manual mode and then going back to automode in camera settings it switches focus to infinity, u have to set it back to continious focus. That is probably your issue. And the phone is great.

I looked up on youtube durability test on a asus model similar to this one and someone scratched the fingerprint scanner and it didnt affect anything compared to other phones where u scratch it and instantly they cannot read.So no it wont especialy because your not scratching it intentionaly but i would advise dont use the fingerprint scanner i never liked it ,unless your in a place where u really need it.In conclusion i say Asus has good finger print scanners.

Suggestion as an experienced user of many phones. Don't update OTA unless you backup everything and RESET it first. If you update after reset then you'll not have any update issue as left over junk files of old OS create problems for new OS at times.

I put my phone in a sealed container to capture picture underwater but I noticed it leaked seawater inside... good thing was I checked it right after I jumped off the boat and I dried it up but before I notice that the water leaked, I noticed that the phone vibrated and was turned off. I've never had less than 600MB RAM available. If you feel that your RAM might need a boost, you can always do that while you are playing any game by tapping it in the quick settings or by using the Game Genie floating widget. Most of the time I have above 900MB-1GB RAM free.

I would rate this model 1 .its filled with manufacturing defects , they don't even exchange the defect phone in the exchange period i.e within 7 days of purchase . The service men only updated some data's and handed me the same phone.... The camera? Excellent. The stock camera app makes things really2 bright. It doesn't take dark pictures at all but overly bright yes(i let the hdr mode on most of the time). In lowlight, the camera app gets really grainy and it has a purplish tint but when you snap a picture and check in the gallery, it becomes much clearer and brighter, which seems unbelievable. The lowlight mode works well too but i dont really use it. Video recording isn't that great fyi but it does the job. Focusing speeds are excellent, just don't expect the camera to focus when the distance between the camera and the object is really close. One thing i dislike about the camera is that in bright conditions, dark colours become brighter ones. So if you're taking a picture of a black jeans with a lot of light, it will look more like dark grey instead of black which I find irritating but it doesn't happen every time. The exposure, colour accuracy and video recording could have been better, but overall, I'd confidently say it's better than Moto G5 Plus.

I own the ZE520KL and I don't regret buying it. It has an awesome screen and very loud speakers. The phone never overheats to the point that you can't hold it. Camera and battery life are also good. I am not familiar with the other devices that you have mentioned. Hope that helps!

I have purchased zenphone 3 5.2'' version 15 days back , i had used samsung mid range phones , sony xperia z2, iphone 5se and xaomi note 3 . after 2 months of extensive research i risked on this new company and new model looking after many positive reviews . Well this phones all the right boxes spec wise but seems expensive compared to competition and being new venture for asus . This phone performs in fluid fashion , battery last a complete workfull day inspite of medium capacity. Screen is best for the price , MI has great screen vibrancy though. RAM ROM combination is on downer side looking up at hybrid sim slot . 3 /64 GB would have been great for the price. Processor is gem SD 625 is best in performance - cool , low power , takes multitasking with ease and can give run for themoney to its predessors. Camera looks best on paper but doesn't perform what could have been best camera phone( Asus marketed it as camera phone) in spite of image stabilizing gears, the shots seems to be shaky, images are not sharp as expected- it has 4 axis OIS. low light shots are not worth talking , focus is not sharp - it has laser and PD auto focus - i am comparing with flagships of established player costing double this model. but camera is best in its price bracket and you have tons of options to play putting DSLR camera to shame. But still best buy and its most beautifull phone in India market rivaling expensive phones and feels expensive for the price.. it fills so premium when people just look at the back of model, mine is sapphire black. Asus is attempting to flood with tons of variants with same nomenclature , that confuses the potential buyers , instead keep portfolio short with meaning full model name instead of model number. And increase authorized service centers in India with decent service quality , asus will be successful brand in smartphone market and being Taiwan brand will help as we purchase expensice HTC for no reasons.

asking for an opinion about honor when you´re on asus forum....I´lltry to be the most impartial even beeing a owner of the Asus... First of all you´re comparing to diferent worlds--- ASUS has a Qualcomm chipeset when Honor uses a in house Kirin chip by Huawei...Honestly on overall perfomance and effiency the snapdragon 625 is 14nn chips, so you get better perfomance and effiency. The after support is usualy better on qualcomm if that matters. Asus goes with ZEN UI, a custom made UI with a few touches (yet some bloatware, less than before) but closer to android stock style... Honor you get EMUI which is very close to apple style... That´s up to you to choose Batery speaking honor is better best overall perfomance Camera even honor has a dual lens camera the asus has a much better camera The asus allows you to choose 5.2 or 5.5 screen. The design is a matter of taste i honestly prefer the asus rather than the honor in my opinion quite ugly (looks like a cheap copy of the P9). The honor 8 is a much better aproach, and if honor is what you´re after i would consider the 8 rather than the 6x. hope it helps

Asus zenfone 3 max has bigger battery capacity than the A5 2017 while a cheap Oukitel phone has 10k mah battery which is way bigger than all of the phones you've listed and it costs much much cheaper than them. Idk what's your point. The Zenfone 3 has a power efficient processor so the 2600mah battery will last longer than the Samsung Galaxy S6 for example. If you compare Zenfone 3 with A5 2017, the Zenfone has better cameras, front and rear and a better processor for gaming. Plus, the multitasking is more fluid on the Zenfone. Unless you want water resistance(which is the only unique thing about the A5 17), then go ahead. No one is stopping you from wasting your money on a clearly overpriced device, again produced by Sammy boy.

2600mAh is an average battery capacity for todays mobile phone standard. I bought this on 3rd of April and I really love it. A single charge could easily go through 10 hours of usage. I charge when it went down between 5%-15%. I unplugged the phone from fully charge at 1pm, only to recharge it at 11pm on 7% remaining battery. I do play games, go on social medias and stream videos with some voice calls for the entire day and it really impresses me. Way better than my previous Zenfone 5 lol.

I couldn't agree more. The front camera seems to darken your face and makes it look redder than normal. The rear camera over saturates at times which makes dim indoor condition even darker and dull. But the lowlight performance is actually quite impressive and the saturation actually adds an extra kick to shots in well lit conditions.

The ones who said it sounds distorted at !ax volume probably heard the best phone speakers in the market so they are more prone to notice little imperfections in phones. Don't worry. Over all i love my new Zenfone 3 5.2. i've had an iphone 6, galaxy s6 edge and xperia xa before switching to Zen3. Battery last a lot longer than s6 and iphone 6. Display is also nice, it's quite similar to my iphone only i think iphones display is quite pinkish at some angles. Hybrid 2nd/sd card slot is cenrtainly a plus. Zen3 is also a major upgrade from it's predecessor for design and materials used, the metal and glass design is just gorgeous, it's a little reminiscent ​to galaxy s6 design, camera is sapphire glass protected which i think is important. BUT, if there is just one thing i would like maybe asus to improve on is the camera, it's CLEAR yes but i see some color production issue, it tends to becone really dark at times and pictures come out to be more redish. For example if i take a selfie from it and from another phone say an iphone or galaxy, picture would be brither than from zen and again zen's puctures produce overly redish pictures. Apart from that this phone certainly an upgrade that cost less.

No apparent issues here at all with Nougat update. Everything works fine so far excellent battery life. Got over 4 hours screen on time last day and battery was still at 50%. Of course I did a factory reset right after updating, like everyone should. Stop complaining about bugs if you have not done so.

You still have to activate the hidden "developer options" to access the Right-To-Left (RTL) option, and there are still things that are deliberatelyawkward for left handed users.. I own the Asus, so I think I can speak for my self. Regarding image quality and camera, is really good. The display has a high leve of brightness so it´s visible at all times. The camera is good in daylight pictures, on darker envyronments it´s average /good. It has a strong flash. Don´t know the moto g5 plus, but it looks great, you may consider if you prefer a cleaner version of android. Personally i prefer the looks of the asus, more premium. The Sony it´s just rubbish.....You can also consider another contender, the Huawei Nova. It´s also a very good phone.

In terms of features and usability, this phone is great. Good camera and flash, decent OS and battery life. The weight (5 oz.) is tolerable and doesn't bother me, but I hate the size of it. At six inches long and three wide, it's too big for a pocket, you need a bag or a purse. My last phone (Nokia 603) was the size of a wallet and fit easily when walking or sitting. I have to take the zenphone out everytime I sit down, and it's easy to forget and leave behind.

I bought this phone in November'16 and after using 3 months here are my views on this. Pros: 1. Don't heat when charging even if you leave it whole night on charge. 2. Heavy games like NOVA 3, No Limit, Asphalt 8 run smoothly for long without heating up. 3. Bright screen actually allows better view in light. 4. Battery lasts whole day long with heavy use and 2nd day with normal use. 5. Camera seems quite good for me. 6. Scratch resistant. 7. Fast fingerprint sensor. No need to click power button every time. Cons: 1. It says it has InfraRed port but when i tried app used infrared, pop up that this does not have infrared port. Please consider it if you are buying this for this options too and gonna use it as TV remote in future which requires infrared option. 2. Gorilla Glass seems more like normal glass to me, so i afraid to test it. :P 3. NFC is not available. 4. Speaker is on lower side which should be in front for better sound experience while watching video. 5. Very slippery without cover. I might have miss something but so far concern this phone, these are the regular things that every buyer should know.

Haha) Storage: I've got 64gb internal memory which I have no problem in my storage. Body: Still great design. Very handy but somewhat slippery to the hand. (Bought transparent jelly case). Screen: is Bright (adjustable of course). Scratch resistant. Good resolution. Battery: 1 day and a half (i'm an average user with wifi on for whole day, if data on, 1 day only). I still dont know if it is fast charging, i eventually charged my battery today, my battery life was 4℅ i charged it for an hour, then its now 27%. (Have your judgement) Charger slot: Type C. Still limited supplies in the Philippines. (I bought extra cable at ali express online shop to use it for emergency or for traveling) camera: still pictures-Good but not superb. Nice when daylight and Use manual mode when capturing at night so you can have great quality pictures. 16mp rear, 8mp front. Video - still good. Fingerprint scanner: very good. Fast sensor and very useful. No need to always press the power button to on or unlock. Bloatwares: just disabled them if you dont need it. Still, the phone runs good. Speakers: Good. It has outdoor mode. Of course when too loud outside, just use the head-set. Wifi: fast connection to wifi/s. Data: support 4G. The speed depends on your network What else? I think these are all the basic needed to know why i am still satisfied with my asus zenfone 3. I'm a female user by the way.

Hold them both in hand and then decide which one you like. I went with the zenfone 3 because i couldn't get a hold of the huawei nova. They are pretty much the same thing. I like the nova design better because of the smaller form factor and better battery. Camera performs similarly to zenfone if not even better in low light. The thing is you are going to miss the optical image stabilization on the nova and trust me it's a nice feature to have. Laser autofocus isn't really that great. It only works for 1.5 meters and sometimes it gets annoying when you try to take a picture through a dirty window. So yeah you wont miss it on the nova. They both have premium build quality. I'm not disappointed with asus but i still feel that the battery could have been better. As for the software...well they're both pretty much bloated and you need to do some app disabling/uninstalling. So far asus has been stable. I don't know how other fingerprint readers perform but the one on the asus kind of annoys me. I'd like it to work as well when I slide my finger across it sideways but instead I have to find it on the back and hold my finger steady or slide it vertically. The most annoying thing about the zenfone 3 is the fact that it is very slippery on the sides. Be very careful when you unbox it because it comes wrapped in a plastic foil with absolutely no grip. I'm not sure how's the support for asus phones and how often they update but in one week i got 3 stability updates since i bought it. The update to android 7.0 should come soon enough. Another thing that annoyed me while I was traveling abroad is that it didn't automatically add the home country prefix to numbers while calling and I had to edit number before calling. Huawei as far as I know does this automatically. Otherwise everything else works great. I like the fact that you can record calls with the stock dialer app. Signal is good, voice volume is good, speaker quality is ok but it could have been louder, gps connects almost instantly and even works indoors. The accuracy is ok but I feel like it could have been even better. In conclusion it's a matter of taste as the phones are pretty much equal.

OK, first of all, I have this dilemma as well. Asus zenfone 3 5'2 or Mi 5?? I mean, it should obviously be the Mi 5 because of the snapdragon 820 and quick charge 3.0 . But for some reason, I still couldn't decide. After reading and watching ALL the reviews possible, the zenfone 3 proves to be "more quality" over the Mi 5. WHY? I got this phone almost a month ago and I am happy with my purchase. I get over 6h of screen time, I haven't experienced any lag, only the camera is a bit too different from my old LG G2 and I don't like it so much - there is too much noise. No overheating when playing games - the phone stays cool and comfortable in the hands. It only heats when it's charging so I don't recommend using it when charging - once I played a game while charging it and the home buttons stopped working for a while. Other than that - no issues, the phone is fast and very beautiful. I'm using it with a case and a glass protector, because the glass is very slippery and the back is somewhat fragile. Bloatware doesn't bother me, but I ditched the ZenUI for the amazing Nova launcher. Overall beautiful and powerful smartphone. Now I am patiently waiting for Nougat and hoping that it won't be a bad update.

If a zenphone 3 standard is already this good then the deluxe edition is incredible, but the price is up there with google pixel, iphone 7, LG V20. I have Asus zenfone 3 ZE520KL. Perhaps, there is bug as i am unable to off the camera sound. In camera settings, i checked/unchecked camera sound, in both cases camera sound produced. I got replacement (new phone) for this issue, but again the problem is as it as. I have tried everything told by Asus Support. I restart the phone in Safe Mode, i performed a reset, asus service center performed a hard reset, I updated my phone in latest firmware but the camera sound issue doesn't resolved. In third party camera app, camera sound issue solved. But what about default asus camera app. I think this is a bug in default camera app (Pixel master). Still the phone is great, i am satisfied. I hope an update from Asus resolved it. Camera Quality: Great Battery Backup: Ultimate User Interface: Great and very buttery smooth. Screen Quality: Great 5.2" screen is handy enough. Everything is great. Great phone in its price segment.

No doubt that Motorola moto z performes better because of Stock Android. but ZF3 has call recorder,Radio,OIS.and has the all thing that moto z has except moto mods So overall ZF3 is a great all rounder device.

Shouldnt they be charging way less than that? I mean, a phone worth 16,990 , and they said the fingerprint sensor, the mainboard and the lcd is damaged. The phones lcd still displays okay and the touchscreen works, the backlight is the only problem. And they charge me 10,300? Thats way more than half of what i paif for the phone.

Asus 3 by far,it has great image stabilization,can shoot 4k videos,great pixels and density and much better than the J7 prime.The selfie is also great but it's a bit darker than the J7 prime but with less noise.Plus,you get a great amount of options to customize your camera before you take your picture,such as a lot of options in manual mode and other option to play with.But the J7 is great as well,same as J7 2016,the camera is decent for it's price.

hi, have this particular phone and i have no regret buying it... as for the battery life, i think they're just the same in terms of power consumption because the 5.5 consumes more due to its larger screen. Also, due to it being smaller in size, the 5.2 pack more ppi than the 5.5.. thats what made me buy this rather than the 5.5..

I got ze520kl. I bought it 3 days ago, and i am not a gamer also. I can tell you, this model has no problems with 24 hours battery life. For example, today i charged it at 12 p.m. then i took about 100 pictures, surfed net for about 2 hours, listened to the music, made few videos in 4k etc. etc. and after that it is 12a.m. and i have still 41% of battery... btw in standby it does not use almost anything. Depending on your budget.Note 4 has everything Asus has,except for the great camera performance,stabilization,options,tricks and Note 4 heats up a little.I'd pick Asus,but Note 4 is half the price so it's worth it.You can also wait for Samsung A5 2017.

Between the two Zenfone 3 is the better option, as SD 617 on G4 Plus is not good by today's standard. But if you can spend a bit more then I'll suggest Moto Z play, same spec as Zenfone 3 but has far bigger battery,Amoled screen and moto mod though no gorilla glass.

Yup! and as i'd mentioned, depend on user. I'm not a hardcore gamer. Mostly on whatsapp, moderately on FB, randomly snapping few pics, moderately on browsing, little email check, watch a few videos from YouTube and it lasted me form 8:00am until 8:30pm with 15% left. Just got the phone (ZE520KL) for 2 weeks and here's my quick result for it. Display: 8/10 (bright vivid colour) Built: 8/10 (Solid built, very premium indeed) Software: 6/10 (ZenUI improved a lot! but turns down by unnecessary bloatware) Radio/Modem/Connectivity: 8/10 Camera: 7.5/10 (focus & snapping is fast, almost instant. but noise control not as good as LG G3) Battery Life: 6.5/10 (depend on users. Morning left from house to office, 100% 8AM, before leaving office on 8:30PM, 15% left) Conclusion: To begin with, I use to owned a S4, S5, Note 2, Note 3 and LG G3. For the price that I paid for this Zenfone 3, I am very satisfied with the hardware that it offered. My unit is the 64GB/4GB model and seriously, more than enough for everything. RAM management is good, I don't even need to close off the background apps because so far it has never slow down nor face any hiccups. It's a good buy if there is promo price. I use this phone for 2 weeks. It's Great smartphone. The battery is good, even it has small capacity. For hard gaming it tooks 3 hours until drop, and the graphic quality is good. For social networking using or browsing it tooks 6-7 hours. No Lagging issue. No extreme heat issue, just a normal heating when playing hard game (39-42C on 2 hours). It has fast fingerprint scanner. It has Luxury body, some says its like Galaxy s6.

Bought Zenfone 2 last year, 1 year later...exactly after the warranty ends, the display needs to be replaced (screen tearing in half). Replaced. Screen still flickers, few days later, phone dead. Literally dead. I did nothing wrong. That's my first and last asus phone. Now they released this mediocre overpriced phone. Think twice before buying this. There are plenty better options worth your money. Sorry if I offended anyone. Just sharing my experience.

Bought mine 4 days ago and so far its very good. Did test with battery life 23min of skype video call, 14min of voice call (smart), 43min of 1080p hevc video using mxplayer HW+, 22min pokemon go, 15min of 4k video recorded using the camera, 2hrs mp3 playback, a few text message and 20min web browsing wifi/bluetooth was always on and it lasted almost 61hrs from full charge. For the most part it was just on standby but compared to my Glaxy S5 Duos that on average only lasted 23-30hrs with just about the same usage this phone is clearly better.

With the experience of Zenfone 2, I will not go with ASUS phone anymore. The ghost touch issue has been reported so long but ASUS just keeps silent without coming up with any fix. I will not invested in anything again with such kind of support. The worst, ghost touch issue was spotted only after 1 year (a few firmware update), even i want to change the display, i need to pay for the service.

Had a really bad experience with this phone. Somehow water got into my Zenfone 3 and damaged the internal parts just within 9 days when I bought it. I am positive that I didn't get it wet. It must be internal moisture that affected the internal parts. Sent it to the service center to have it replaced but instead they wont replace it due to water damage. Very bad service. Instead they asked me to pay to have it serviced for almost 10,000php, almost $200 USD. That's almost buying for a brand new phone. What a joke! I bought the phone for 16,990php, that's $350 USD. Damn you ASUS.

It was great phone overall but there is a bad side about this version so many bloatware or pre install apps and it can't uninstall that unwanted apps. I need to switch both sim so sun sim function for about 3 to 4 hrs but again stop sending/receiving SMS. I went to sun, they told me that unit is the problem not their network. Buy the 5.5inch variant then you will not have the battery fast draining issue. You may search on Youtube that some people compare did the battery durability test for ZE552KL and Redmi Note 3. (that's why it is fast charging. haha) - the dual sim sometimes bugs me. cannot send msg instantly even though i have full signal so what i do is i have to switch on the airplane mode a second then turn it off. so that the network would restart then it backs to normal sending (looking for solution to this) - many bloatware ( you have to disable unnecessary apps) -hybrid memory card slot (but i'm fine with the internal memory (64gb - dual sim user) Overall Excellent phone for normal users, but for heavy user/gamers battery is your major problem. :) -from Philippines

This is not a fast charging.. However the performance of the battery is above average. I'm using Asus ZenFone 3 from 2 week, it's a nice phone..built quality is amazing..gives you premium phone feeling..camera is 9/10 you will get many camera settings & modes ..you can take 4k videos...display is just beautiful 10/10..phone can handle multitasking easily..it can play heavy games without any lag..phone gets heat up slightly ..battery backup...I would say 'average' ..12hour of normal use...price of the phone could've been less ...but believe me ..this phone worth buying

Bought Zenfone3 4days ago and tried the network connectivity of the phone. That's what I look for a smartphone before anything else, so: 1st - How far/fast can it get using LTE or 4G connection, unfortunately the internet connection drop like it doesn't have any connectivity at all. So I need to go out from the mall so I can get connected. 2nd - Using dual sim is a no no no with Asus? While I was using my data connected to sim2 and tried to text someone using sim1......... it didn't work, that's just weird. What happen? Or maybe there something else to do since it doesn't have any instructions about it in the manula so I went back to the store and this what they have to say, CS said the service in my sim1 has issues last month, I said to them this is new and you know it (since i bought the phone in their store) and it doesn't have any issues in my samsung phone. lol Any opinion? I really like to continue exploring my Asus since I'm a big fan. :)

Asus is much better in terms of camera performance. You have much more options, a more advanced manual mode and actually useful camera modes. I bought the Zenfone 3 days ago and while I can't say much about the battery, the Camera doesn't fail me. Just an example, night photography is very much possible thanks to an unlocked iso(50-3200) / exposure time (32sec-1/50000) / white balance(fine tuning the temperature, not just different presets). Super Resolution is mostly a gimmick but in good lighting can provide additional details in some areas (some car numbers could become readable from afar, etc) Panorama is a bit of a letdown because it records in lower resolution than it should (about 1900vertical pixels), but so does the A5 (2016)

Well i personally don't like eUI. Its a crap n looks cheap chinese n i being a professional want a neat ui, cool1 is good only if has sony imx 258 sensor in colour sensor camera, coz only then it will be able to take advantage of monochrome sensor in other camera for better detailed n brighter photos. But if honor prices it above 23k i'll go for Redmi pro. Indian version will be powered by sd652 only n miui is more mature and it does have imx 258 in primary camera. And if possible i would like to make to changes in redmi pro i.e. a better lcd screen from sharp/jdi instead of local chinese made OLED display and monochrome sensor instead of depth sensor. Or even better forget dual sensors and give a better 16mp imx318 sensor @16k.

Since Samsung s5 got upgradable to marshmellow i wouldn't change it for a a phone with same specs (literally all specs are the same) from a brand that is quite new to the market.Samsung even tho it has an older chipset,but a bit better cpu,it's still is amazingly powerful for all type of games and daily use even better than 625.I'd keep Samsung S5 if i were you and save money for the future if you are planning to buy Samsung Note 7 or cheaper S6/7.

Asus is very poor in upgrading the Android version. The Zenfone 2 ZE551ML still stuck in Android 5.0. Practically no update since its release 1.5 years ago.

If Zenfone 3 use SD 650 may draining faster 2600 mah battery. I think SD 625 not behind SD650 cause 14nm FinFet on SD 625 and will more efficient for 2600 battery
