Even though I owned a Nokia 6, I still love my good ol' Zenfone 4. Small and strong enough to face the unexpected life of the world. Guess I must change the battery, it looks bloated causing difficulty in closing the cover. Try to install Water Garden Live Wallpaper on your ol' Zenfone 4 and you will realize what I am talking about. The water looks so real on this phone! Shimmering bright while this live wallpaper cannot run on my new Nokia 6. In a nutshell, this Asus Zenfone 4 with Intel processor is still a keepsake until the end of the world.

Just go to SETTING-->POWER MANAGEMENT-->POWER CONSUMPTION TABLE and see which app is consuming the most power. Just disable or remove the app/apps and the phone will not get too hot again.

Yes, in my case I use the update package named "Version WW_7.4.4.0" because my software version build number has "WW" on it, it must be matched between the software package and build number. Used it for 2+1/2 years: 2 batteries (1200 mAh type) are dead now, and I can't find any local shops selling OEM replacements, instead I was directed by ASUS to their service centre and their batteries cost a fortune (about US$35/pc). In retrospective, I think ASUS never meant for the Zenfone-4 to be a stand-alone mobile (1200 mAh for battery?) but to compliment their existing ASUS Notebooks users, whereby Zenfone-4 was supposed to be attached to USB charging on their Notebooks? It was a quick-fix for the Zenbook notebook users!!!

I got this phone and all I can say is that the phone is good for basic use. Been using it for 2 years. I upgraded it to Android Lollipop and everything was okay, except the non-removable bloatware which is annoying every time i format the phone. In my experience, the battery lasted for 2 days of regular use. It's not a gaming phone so, i wouldn't recommend this to people who like gaming. Sound quality is okay especially when using earphones. The phone's back cover is very cheap and the smooth texture comes of easily. The phone heats a lot, especially if you used it too much and wouldn't last a day. But I would still recommend this phone for people who want to buy a decent budget phone or a backup phone.

It was only good the first few months (4-6 months) for me. After that it started hanging A LOT. It heats up easily when using wifi, mobile network, playing games, and more so when it hangs. Also, It's like the back is glued shut. My fingernails break every time I try to take out the battery because it's EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to open it up.

After the service centre visit my Bluetooth doesn't sends multiple files, it fails continuously . The over heating is terrible . It really irritates. A normal day usage requires almost 3 full charges. It is feels like more of feature fone when you can't use anymore . This wasn't the case running on 4.3 and I got 4.4 from service centre. It was quite fine then. Wonder why.

Facing problems in zenfone 4 has become a normal task. Whenever i open mobile data and use it for a few minutes then it will show ' unfortunately Google store is not responding' gallery is not responding' etc. , if i restart it at that time it will take 3 hours to fully start. Had gone 2 customer care thrice in 4 months . They will update software and will take RS500 for it. But then after using for a month same problem will re occur. Facing same problem now. Decided to give up. If u want to buy zenfone than 4 is not a wise option

well, indeed it supports up to lollipop 5.0.2, but no support for marshmallow, it has poor battery life, and freezes a lot, yet it's a best phone for it's price. The design copied from iphone 5 size, if you wanna have a phone that's usable for casual use like social networking and chatting plus listen some music and radio, it's more than good. FYI: use lollipop fw for better performance, but has less space after update. kitkat has bigger space, but major bug like not able to write on SD when app needs to. battery life on kitkat are worse than on lollipop. wish asus builld a 5.1.1 version of android for this device.

But it seems asus keep consistent to fix everything and keep care with the update until this phone reach the final stable.(you held experiment phone guys.but it getting better and better) *My sugestion : Try to update your zenfone 4 to lolipop (cause it more stable.more faster.and less consume battery). u can download it on their website -after update. factory reset your phone!!. If u're not doing it. Your phone will often hang and consume so much battery because there are something crash in the background -after u factory reset. Your phone will keep on screen clockboot. i know It take a little bit long ,but that not mean your zenfone error just wait it. -after done. Try to root your zenfone (u can find it on google) my purpose root is to integrate every updated app system into mount system.because asus more often update their system than the other brand , second reasons is to make my app "SD Maid (Cleaner)"more effisient *if u're not doing it.your internal storage will full because when you updated system , it stay in your internal. And it cause your system not stable.sometime crash.consume speed and battery. -after root. this phone is very smooth, lag-free like iPhone and the main camera is very good for its price. I've owned this since last year and it hasn't given me any problems but constant daily joy to use. it's better than those popular brands I.e Samsung which has the lagging problems. Worst phone I've ever bought. The phone call quality is absolutely horrible and it deteriorates with time. I'm sick of people telling me they can't hear me. Try playing a game or a YouTube video on it - the phone will get so hot that it'll hurt your hand! Avoid at all causes. Furthermore, it's not GorillaGlass - it'll break after the first fall on the floor.

Go to ASUS official website, go to Support menu, go to Firmware, select Android 5.0 version with matching version of your device, download and put in INTERNAL storage without unzip the files.. Reboot the phones if there no ASUS update available on notification and after received notification.. Follow the update instruction.. And let the phone update itself.

Stop complaining about heating. That is how intel atom processor works. Touch the bottom of your laptop and see if its still cold after many hours if usage. All electronic heats up. Even your flat screen tv heats up, just that you never touch them. There is no smartphone in the world that stays cold when used. The coldest processor ever recorded is the qualcomm snapdragon s4 processor. Galaxy SIII US version have it.

Since I was an impulse buyer, I bought the phone late laat year since I fell in lovw in its GUI that os slightly different from gwneric android gui. However as I use it, I noticed that the battery drains WAY TOO FAST even when its on super saving mode. Doesn't even last half a day for moderate use. Plus the wifi hotspot is buggy. My other device cannot connect because the hotspot resets on a regular interval. It was then that I found out that this is a known ASUS bug...and whats worst is that ASUS seemed to blocked the pages/forums in zentalk that discusses the hotspot failure. Such a waste of money.

Now here is my review my mobile had lot of issues first one is when I press screen on button it takes 3 to 5 second to on i took it to service center they said it's a software problem and put some new software version but still the same then I again took it to service center but now I got the answer that unlock button is broken he will replaced it but still same issue every time when I on my screen it takes 3 - 5 second to on, second worst ever battery back up, this discharging fast even when the screen is off and phone is idle when I tried to use googe maps to find an address it was discharging 10% for 5 minutes ( with GPS on) I know GPS will drink some battery but never seen anything like this my mobile switched off even before I reach that address, 3g call time on this mobile is just 2 1/2 hours don't believe what said in specifications they all fake I used low end smart phone but nothing like this, just with 2 1/2 hour talk time maximum stand by time is 3 to 4 hours when phone is idle I don't bother about camera or others if you do multi task phone will hang a lot even apps like chrome, fb 9 chat, kik messenger hangs don't buy this mobile

The problem happened to me too but do not worry.android has not been erased.I have the solution.hold the power button and the volume up button for 15 seconds.then some android picture will appear.then ther u will have factory reset option.u can toggle to it with the help of the volume buttons.scroll to factory reset and click it with the power button(don't hold the power button).then ur fone will show u the setup wizard.setup ur device.that's it!! Ur fone is on!but beware all ur data wii get erased.and u don't have to worry don't take ur fone to any service centre as it is a minor issue that can be fixed by the user.

hi all,i have been using this phone for 7 months. At first, i'm really enthusiast about this phone because it offer great feature at affordable price. But after several months experience with this phone, i can say that this phone is CRAP. Camera quality is so awful it will turn orange-yellow sunset color into orange-reddish color. So awful and far away from the natural color. VEry crap camera quality. For the screen, after several months of normal usage, just take a look at right-bottom corner of the screen, you will see the screen corner is not attached well so its not flat anymore. For the software, if you are not deleting and clean up your SMS, you will sometimes experiencing blank screen when you open your Inbox. You have to re-open it. And last but not least, i'm very confuse with this phone because much of the time ring my new SMS tone but no new SMS, new BBM. This phone is not only CHEAP, it's also CRAP, poor built quality either in hardware and software.

You have to go setting and open about and then click system update anr checking update. The download will automatically download and you have to wait untio finih the download and then install and waiting for another step until finish. It's only take 10-15 minutes to finish updating. I only have waiting for 5 hours cause my poor connection wifi. Gd luck.

6 months back when I bought this mobile , it was awesome, but now I am facing hel problems. 1. Battery backup is worst. Every one min .375 percentage of charge dies. That means approximately 4.5 hrs charges stays that's it if u have 3G then it's boom 3 hrs. 2. When ever u play music , if any calls comes in music stops call continues, once u cut the call , dome shit beep sound starts. Because it can't able to access music player and it get stuck so beep sound continues , Happens once in a week not regular. 3. If u install more apps boom , phone gets hang sometimes u have to restart or remove battery. 4. Phone gets heaten up so fast even u use only watsapp, calls and msgs. 5. Screen is the worst part past six months I keep on using this mobile, now my eye power changed , have to wear glasses. Keep on watching this mobile for gaming or YouTube. I can't see anything clear, sight is getting blured and becoming red and keep on itching. Screen had the worst brightness it affects ur eyes in most dangerously. 6. In default it says utra power saving mode and custom power saving mode are super dooper lie don't trust , nothing works its just eyelash. Even in splendid has gray scale mode that also eating battery life. 8. I don't know what's the use of do not disturb, it not even working. So guys before bying this mobile think. 7. Cost wise awesome , so handy best. But worst experience.

I had this phone last january 2 2015. It is really a good phone.. though I don't believe the corning gorilla glass 3 gave the phone a strong glass barrier for the screen.. I accidentally drop it, the glass cracked on the screen. near the home and back buttons. If you follow that , then the battery charge will run for around two and half to three days. First location services and auto syncing should be off. second smart saving function should be on in ultra saving mode . third u cant find in the phone . but i m telling how you do find in the phone . Go to setting>About>software information >build number. click on build number 5 times continously . now it will tell you that now you are a Developer. now open setting again and u will find the option of "developer option" at bottom side . open it and find "set background process" at bottom side ,open and "set it two or one." now done . it will increase your battery life from 4 hours to 8 hours. battery would not drain automatically even in stand by mode .

People are complaining about the battery life.. If you have several apps running in the background, then you can expect that the battery life will not last more than a day. I have this phone for 3 days now and so does my brother. He has apps (facebook, kakaotalk, pou, and so on) we both had fully charged our phones at noon and before the evening was out he was already at 43% while my phone was still at 87%. I only installed Battery Doctor that that's it. This phone is good for regular usage (call, text, and photos, musicand other lite tasks) but unless you know how to disable useless apps running in the background and know how to conserve battery powerlike reducing brightness, disabling wifi, bluetooth and other programs that are not needed, then you better stay away from this phone.

After Kitkat update, the phone is better in terms of its speed of loading apps. So the RAM allocation got better. The only problem is the battery. Very fast to discharge especially when playing games (CoC and Brave Frontier). Shutsdown suddenly around 60% if not plug in/charging. I think I need to replace the batttery. The phone sells at RM299 in Malaysia which can be considered extremely cheap considering the fact that it works so much better than certain Sxmsung devices in the price range. The screen although not truly HD is still nice and text are perfectly readable (even small fonts). Battery does suck especially when brightness is up along with mobile data turned on. Performance is alot better than expected, a lil lag and slow loads but considering the price tag it's more than forgivable. Speakers are on the quiet side and the camera, while not mindblowing takes good enough shots. Low light produces quite a bit of noise so make sure you have your subject well-lit. The matte back cover feels good in the hand, the physical buttons are very tactile and the screen is smooth which is a godsend. For a phone priced under RM300 ,4.5/5.

I bought this on August for $110. Some guy that said it's 4GB ROM and not 8, it's true because there's a 3 packaging category ( batch ) . The difference is : Batch 1 is 4GB ROM and 1200MAh battery, Batch 2 is 8GB ROM and 1200MAh battery ( This one's mine ), and Batch 3 is 8GB ROM and 1600MAh battery ( CMIIW ). Check the box if you want to know what category is yours. I've cracked my phone's LCD on mid October and unfortunately, the LCD and the touchscreen is merged ( they said that's why their Zenfone 4 is so responsive when touched ) so if i cracked one of them, i have to bought LCD + touchscreen for $60. And yesterday my phone's have been repaired and it's fine, it's for those who said have a problem in their Service Center. BTW i'm Indonesian. So if you have a Service Center problem in EU or US,well,i'm surprised. I thought they were better in those regions.

Anyone Having problems with the camera and its autofocus? I got mine yesterday and the camera was faulty. Whenever I open the camera app, the lens make a "tick" sound, and it does not focus properly. I did a hard reset and the camera became fine. But after some time, it had problems again with focusing. bought A Zenfonr4 not 20 days have passed from the purchase date from a very respectable store and 1 of ASUS products main seller, and I had to call for repair, the technical team did repair the phone, but had to change Battery + Motherboard. If somebody want to update kitkat 4.4 then firstly restore it to factory settings then update the patch. U will get no issue after being 4.4 kitkat. Enjoy

Hi, I'm from Malaysia. For U Mobile users, if you can't seem to connect with the internet, try doing this. Go to Setting> More> Mobile networks> Access Point Names> (then choose your SIM)> (choose the 3 dots on the right side of the phone screen)> choose Reset to default. Hope this helps.

hello k.c.? im also in the philippines too, commomly if your network provider is not exist in other country u must use other network that has in that country wherever u are .. for..example.. here in the philippines we have smart and globe... in other country they dont have globe or smart network so ,, if u try to use that sim in other country , for sure there is no signal at all
