  • It's already a year old phone, you can get this phone at a lower price than the original.

  • Hello.Of couse that BBandroid are secure today. Those android devices are considered the most secure android phone on the market. In those phones is an application, called DTEK,which shows to you what permission has different app on your phone, and send to you a notification if an app access your camera or your sms without your knowing.Beyond that, you have also the locker app, which you can put a password or finger print reader on an app, photos, document etc,and gives to you an extra secure features. The latest device are Key2 and Key2 LE,both keyboard device. So if you like it,go ahead in different carrier and retailer in your country/region to purchase a new one.Thank you.

  • guys i want to ask that blackberry mobile is still secure like before, i mean no one can encrypt their phone calls or mesages? or its security is nt like the old ones.

  • yes you can its android operating system but you end up look like stupid if you use that in this very small screen

  • a premium price device with snapdragon 660 chipset are fkng kidding me i love your device before but now dam expensive with very low spec only stupid people will buy this maybe if the price around 300 it will be ok

  • You are absolutely correct it eats battery huge even on standby, have tried in many ways to stop many applications but no result. Even I have made data off, WiFi off, BT off and on power saving mode still within 11pm to 7am (absolutely no use of phone) it eaten up about 10% charge. More over I am 100% unsatisfied customer my phone got slipped from my hand twice from about 3 feet height and both the time screen got cracked, replaced the screen with a cost of INR 18K.

  • is there anyone who has fixed the battery drop issue on stand by time on key 2 it eat 20 percent battery in just 7 hours on standby while sleeping

  • Hello.Blackberry is on android since late 2015,and you can access to all the application that you want. The latest device are Key2 and Key2 LE.So,if you like it,go on different carrier and retailer in your country region to purchase a new one.Thank you.

  • Has anyone else having issue with this phone after updating it to build number ABY271? Mine does overheat while charging and the battery wont last a day and I don’t have this problem before. I have iphone 7 and XZ2 and I don’t use my BB quite often so I’m kinda worried. I tried resetting it but the problem is still there. Please help.

  • Can you install FaceBook, Instagram and TikTok on it?

  • The Pie is allready a year old and I hope they come out with android Q instead but it seems BlackBerry Mobile division is running silent.

  • hey, bro ! I've been using Blackberry Key2 since June,2018. to be honest, this phone is perfect for student or business man, because it quite comfortable to type with a real keyboard, and the keyboard is designed to help you find/open an app quickly. however, at the beginning, the database of the input method is empty, so you need to used several days to "feed" the phone with your typing habit (words). and I promise, you will addicted to it when you've been use it for a long time. however, its gaming experience is terrible because of the keyboard. and it is hard for the finger(of the keyboard side) to touch the screen. moreover, the size of the screen is small (for gaming, e-book reading). so, it is impossible to have a good experience on those kind of things.(another good things for student:) ) so, if you want to choose this one, you should def check what you care and need that cannot be satisfied by this phone.

  • Hello .Iphone 7 is a 3 year old phone.About BB Key2,i could say that is a great phone.Great build quality, long lasting battery life,6 g of Ram,64 gb internal storage, keyboard like the Bold 9900,and a new button, the speed key, which you can jump from one app to another, without closing the window, and dual camera with portrait mode. Also it runs android 8,which you can run to all the application that you want.Thank you.

  • No android pie update till now. RIP blackberry.

  • hello everyone .. my use is very minimal but its a must for me that I should have a standard phone. which one should I go for, blackberry key 2 or iPhone 7 ? I understand blackberry is a business phone but still, I would like to know everyone's opinion about this .. thank you

  • Hello.I don't know for sure, but usually in this kind of event different tech producer announce their plans for the future. So you must wait until 30th August at IFA 2019,to know what plans has TCL for the Blackberry brand.Thank you.

  • That means are they going to release new phone in August, thanks

  • Hello.I think we must wait until IFA 2019 that is host at Berlin at late august for the announcment of the new generation Blackberry.Thank you.

  • Totally agree. I would use that Passport for life if possible.

  • Anyone know when blackberry will release there new flagship phone....????

  • I agree passport was the BEST DEV Ever! It´s a shame that they dropped app and OS support... :/

  • I hope key3 would come out like Passport.....!!!!!

  • FYI... BBF100-8 & -9 are Japan only variants.

  • Yes zirrrr too expensive, I saw it on memoexpress sta lucia mall. 24k+. I'll go nokia 7 plus too

  • This is the best phone on market, especially the red edition

  • Not even imported units available? I'm appalled that the phone is available in your country after almost a year since its debut. I'm also looking to buy one but the units that I inspected are quite obsolete stocks, July 2018 to be exact. In exchange, its price dropped quite significanly to around USD490. The only drawback is the risk that comes with buying unofficially carrying/imported units meaning no insurance no after sale service whatsoever. BTW, I live in Thailand. Now, I'm skeptical whether I should get it or not as I'm a huge fan of BB back during its hayday. This Key2 might be the last hardware I can get a hand on as there are many negative signalling from BB that they are restructuring i.e. shutting down BBM at the end of May or EOL many Android apps. Plus there's no news or any rumors regarding Key3.

  • this phone just became available here in the philippines. key2 price is 688 euro and key2 le is 413 euro. way too expensive for it's specs. this is supposed to replace my old classic q20. i think i'll be going with nokia 7 plus instead. almost exact specs but cost only 206 euro. sad......

  • Same to me :(

  • the application you are using for typing is not supported by the phone

  • Has anyone ever got an issue with the keyboarg gesture? that sometimes it is not functioning when you open certain apps like whatsapp,it's like it needed the time to load the gesture and sometimes it is not working at all. So I need to lock the phone and unlock it to make it work

  • Perfect phone,. I recently bought it.

  • The key2 is a great smartphone that I use the keyboard is awesome , I don't use it to play games I also use it to make calls with , and that my friends works great the battery life is fantastic. I personally don't use this phone as a toy I use it to get @++@tt done period

  • Hello.Depend on what you ,because the same price did not tell everything. If you want the keyboard, security features and a long lasting battery,go for Key2 because it's the best device possible. But if you want great camera and a lot of multimedia to watch movies, playing games,it's better for you to go on to a Mate 20.Thank you.

  • The fact that they I told them this, its been said and they came out with key2 after making blackberry priv...shows the blackberry talks about business, but still sells texting phones...its like a businessman selling snake oil

  • In philippines.. This phone is the same price of mate 20..

  • I upgraded from KeyOne. Key2 is quicker, keyboard is clickier which is a good thing, the screen is crispier and the camera is better both ways. I converted the $ key to Shift straight away. I turned off convenience key and will not be using shortcuts. I don't play games. I use it mainly for emails and txting so it's absolutely a joy to use. The shape of the phone around the edges is more angular. I didn't like it at first but now realise it's more secure in my hand and clip onto car phone holders in the car better. Overall, the best Blackberry to date.

  • BB Key 3 should be a slide phone

  • I don't know, but this key2 is overpriced here in the Philippines.

  • I have used many BlackBerry phone earlier and was a very satisfied BlackBerry user. Now using this all new Key2 for a moth, the delivery by Amazon was in amazing first but with the performance of this phone I am totally not satisfied. My phone just slipped from my hand on the road may be from maximum 3 feet height and screen got cracked phone started malfunctioning. Changed the entire screen panned with huge cost. After that within 3 days finger print sensor stopped working. Battery backup as they claim 2 days, but actually it's not two days. I am not atall a gamer not using phone for long on Internet for YouTube etc. 24 hrs net on 3 mail account sync facebook and Whatsapp off and on. Average talk time 2 hrs per day. Now it give about 18-20 hrs battery backup. So premium phone so poor built quality not accepted.

  • Let me fist and foremost advise all that I am a Blackberry User, Supporter from 2008. In-between I have used tons of other devices but always had the soft corner for BB. I was elated when I got my hands on the BB Keys2 3 weeks back, but it has been disappointment since then. I paid nearly USD 730 for 6GB 128 BB Keys2, when my friends thought I am crazy. but it was the love for BB which made me purchase the keys2. The list of disappointments: -Call quality when both SIMs are active is questionable -WhatsApp dual app has a lot of bugs. most of the time one account is running at the background even if you close it force shut it. I have sent screenshots to BB as well. -Dual sim signal at most time scratchy loosing signal frequently and have to reboot the device - Frequent occasional lags even with the 6GB ram??? - battery draining fast even when all possible measures are taken. in these dame age even after closing GPS!!! BB please retire with grace! I know I cannot even sell this now for USD 500!!!

  • This is my 6th or 7th BlackBerry and I absolutely love it. Feels nice in hand, sleek design as every new BB, powerful enough for me. The keyboard is the best among recent models with Android. The only minor flaw is an average camera which doesn't bother me at all. KEY2 meets all my needs.

  • This phone is good depending on what phone you had before. After any flagship from 2017 or 2018, this feels like a huge drawback. The camera in low light is just bad, no other way to put it. The phone's performance when working in excel is just too slow. The Note 9 lags with bigger sheets, not to mention this SD660. This phone is meant for productivity but the only thing it is productive in is typing emails, nothing else. It's just mediocre for a big price.

  • Its all just fake news!

  • Less talked about this phone , under rated. Many of the reviews are fake, they write for others to see them for media advertisements. May be they were not paid to talk about blackberry. This is an excellent phone perfect for everyone except for big screen fans. Best Android without hanging. Camera is much much better than so called 20 pixel phones who blurr yor pic and show you beautiful (fake) . Key 2 camera colour saturation is excellent. Focus works fantastic. Screen is high resolution. Battery extraordinary runs 2 days smooth. Security topnotch. Problem with low sales is 1) no demo phones to check 2) no Marketing 3) no commission for sales people. 4) bad reviews. Friends this is really nice phone perfect for everyone.

  • I have been using a blackberry for ten years now. never felt the need to go to apple or Samsung. I like the hub. if you want to game on your phone then Samsung or something else is better. but for strictly running phone services, email and doing some small excel and word docs. blackberry is just as good as any other device im glad you tried the key 2

  • I was using I phone 7 previously , It conked off in 1.5 years, I switched back to BB and am using Key 2 since September 2018, It has a good battery life, Key 3 has even better. The main reason of switching to Blackberry is reducing my carbon footprint as BB phones last long, My previously owned BB's have lasted almost 5 years.

  • A YouTuber, JerryRigEverything, (you can watch using the link; tested this phone and he said that the durability has passed, the screen, the keyboard, etc.

  • Own This phone and have had Black Berry Phones all the way back to the Pearl this phone rocks

  • What?

  • i'm using the passport (silver edition). it is my ultimate smartphone.

  • I was wishing if bb use screen of bb. Priv or bigger the dimensions bb always mistake with it

  • BB10 and the Passport were the best. I hate thinking about BB10's demise.

  • I love blackberry phones. Started with the BB Bold, then BB Q10, BB Priv, BB Keyone.. Now i have Key2 with 6gigs of ram.. Cool phone. Best thing is the keyboard. Waiting for a priv3 (If it comes-I would love full screen with slide keyboard, 6GB RAM atleast and touch ID/Face recog.)

  • That SAR is a killer, 1.68 it's too much i think...

  • Haha...wait for bb os ...

  • Nad bro speed key feature is the unique one

  • Am curious about this phone! Have messed with the Priv in the past but I wasn’t exactly impressed with it. Didn’t feel like BlackBerry. And there were much better droids than the Priv. However this one really sparks my attention!

  • Nothing can beat the BB10 OS Hub. The Hub in the Android Blackberry devices suck, it doesnt seem to fit naturally there.

  • Just get a flip phone

  • "Key2, Oneplus6, S9+, p20pro, Note9" - the BB is the only phone sub 5" and with keyboard - I would preffer this over anything else if not for gaming, which I do alot. If I wouldnt game on my phone, totally would buy a key2, does everything anyone will ever need.

  • Ms.Harleen, NO..... why are you asking???? Are you using imported one????

  • Can someone please answer my two questions? 1. Does Blackberry Key2 have issues with services and applications in India? 2. When would Key2's silver version launch in India?

  • Hi Vicky, Are you put up in India? I want to know about BB services in India Regards, Harleen

  • Personally what i like about BB is The Hub, Password Manager, security, and the Elegant look. BB Passport had loud speakers and amazing clarity of pictures. Unfortunately BB never made phones like that. Key2 has some nice interesting features like, 1. Privacy shade 2. Spacebar camera, pictures stored in safe where no one can access. 3. Easy Shortcut key on keyboard (in total 52 shortcuts on your fingertips) And some common BB Features 1. DTEK security 2. Keyboard 3. Elegant look 4. Password Manager 5. The BB Hub Honestly, these are the only feature worth buying. Moreover, you will never find these key features in any other Android device. Flaws for this phone are, 1. Camera - Only in low dim light. 2. The home screen button while swiping up for fast typing. 3. Not a waterproof phone. As far as i have seen reviews on YouTube. I personally do not own this phone, and i have also herd people saying its kinda slow. But im still considering. Im lost between Key2, Oneplus6, S9+, p20pro, Note9. Im looking for A phone with long lasting battery, my usage and concern would be, 1. Hotspot 2. Camera (not for clicking selfies, but to click pictures of our company products) 3. Security since its for business purpose. (Which is why I'm considering key2) 4. Web browsing, Bank apps, Facebook page manager, and WhatsApp. I have Iphone 6s 10.3.3 but using it for personal use. Want to separate work stuff from personal. Guys please share your thoughts and opinions. Cheers

  • non-removable batteries are not introduced to force user to change phone instead of battery, they are just not average user replaceable, but you can always take them someone who knows about phone reparing and get the battery replaced if needed, and non removable batteries are have several advantages like better waterproofing, slightly bigger capacity due to removal of battery connectors and more sturdy and premium design of cell phone.

  • Does anyone know if there are any plans to produce the 128gb version in Silver? Currently, I have only seen it sold in Black. I want Silver and so am wondering whether to wait for its release. However, if it confirmed that there are no plans for a silver one, I will reluctantly purchase the black! Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanx. Steve.

  • They should do us a favour making removable battery Phone & non-removable battery phone in the same Model.

  • You are absolutely right, i hate all phones with non removable batteries, just to change your old battery you must go to service to pay much much money and someone in the service can see and steal your privacy, docs, files, video or pics. I damn this satanic idea of Non-removable batteries which calls trend. Just to change your battery your phone must be opened by someone in the so called service and you even are not sure did he changed with new one or not.Damn!!!!!!

  • Yes, several, thank God. Just check some Motorola, Samsung and other brands. They do have removable battery cellphones. Mine for example is a Motorola G4 Play, still in production. Check also Samsung J4 and J6. I still hope that one fine day, removable batteries will be once again the standard. Also a nice QWERTY keyboard as an option for those of us who DETEST, touchscreen keyboards. Non-removable batteries was incorporated in order to force customers to change phones instead of batteries. This is a decision that goes against any trade ethics.

  • depends on your simcard net speed. mine is huawei and cat 16 and i can download in more speed than a cat 6.

  • Do the speeds matter in terms of the connection speeds to the network or will they in the near future? Cat16, etc?

  • do you know any other phone that have removable battery these days?

  • One terrible flaw: Non removable battery. That alone makes me stay away from this beautiful phone with QWERTY. What a pity. Also, very expensive. How can a company like Blackberry still make such big mistakes after their fall?

  • I think he or she was talking about the RAM

  • what are u saying man! it has 4g which world are u from? :d hahahaha

  • The phone is legendary and unique. But the high price and low storage of 64 GB put the phone on shame. Should be more affordable instead and storage of 128 GB at least.

  • I really don’t understand what’s Blackberry hardware strategy is or maybe this company (OEM) does not have direction at all. Fine… they have this Blackberry Key2 if they want to sell or attract new market for this they should have made its camera exceptional or at least better than Keyone. And why the hell they keep on making ugly phones. How can they sell security features when you cannot attract consumers with nice a phone at least.

  • Compared Keyone and Key2 reviews and purchased keyone based on audiophile quality audio and better photography.

  • Yes volte support in india

  • is it volte and support video call?

  • Z10 is the best device ever made

  • is Key2 is volte

  • Blackberry key2 back strongly with good specifications and looking and easy using keyboard very practical to use speed perfect

  • yeah i had Z10 and i either used it XD rahter use blue tooth

  • This phone is so nice, tough I wish it was cheaper. :(

  • stupid of blackberry not to give only 4 g option, as in india to keep constant 4g i very difficult except jio

  • bb 9360 had NFC; but you think i used it?

  • Yes, it does have NFC and can use Google Pay. The only thing accurate that you have written is it doesn't have wireless charging.

  • Great phone for what it is. It's not for everyone, but it's a great productivity device with well-designed software features, beyond the appeal of the hardware. The physical keyboard is fantastic. Not just a gimmick to placate, it has a ton of functionality including shortcuts and gestures with a number of customization options. Yes, the screen is smaller than other smartphones of this generation, and the CPU isn't particularly impressive, but this isn't for someone looking for an entertainment console. If you want a big, bright screen and tons of power for gaming, get a Pixel. If you want an elegant solution for comfortable typing and texting, with 2 to 3 days of battery life, the Key2 is the obvious choice.

  • I've read the specs over and over... For a 2018 phone, it's missing wireless charging and NFC (for Google Pay)

  • good phone. just wish the display was larger. definitely overpriced. not cool BB!

  • I love BlackBerry KEY2. I love it but it does not mean you have to buy it too. If it fits you, KEY2! #BlackBerryisLife

  • Like

  • The 4 main reasons I love this device and still use a BlackBerry. 1. Battery life. The king. Nothing comes close. 2. Security and encryption. They invented the standard. If it's good enough for the Canadian and US governments it's good enough for me. 3. The keyboard. Makes me a lot more accurate. 4. The phone functionality and voice quality. Clear. Loud.

  • I've been using BlackBerry for quite some time but l was having challenges of keeping up with new apps on the market but now since BlackBerry now using android my problem was with Ram memory, some of the phone will run slow on the heavy usage of which l never experience that with bb os 10 or earlier versions. Now the BlackBerry key2 has come with better specs and hopefully will be the "redeemer of bb priv the phone that even now has the best looks and was pretty made. Thanks to BlackBerry for this amazing key2

  • 650! LOL Fun Knee - Those capacitve keys are dead on arrival That archaic launcher is dead on arrival This price is dead on arrival The Key1 STILL is on Nougat No AMOLED Snap 710 would have been cool 299-399 at BEST for this package - only CRACK berry stans will waste their $ on this

  • SD 660 is an amazing processor for a phone at max 470$ and cheaper or a decent tablet same price.Everything more than 500-530$ with SD 660 is a robbery.

  • This video says everything about the phone

  • We're in 2018, there are no issues with app compatibility just because of a different aspect ratio. The same could be said about 18:9.

  • Salam Salah Are you looking for the possessor name on the paper only? or you want the real performance? I'm glad to let you know that the performance of the SD 660 on the Key2 is good as the SG 835 on other devices, because the performance of the device is not only a possessor it is the harmony between the hardware and the software and it is awesome on the Key2

  • 700$ For a phone with a SD660 Chipset? Looks like Blackberry wants to go broken again...

  • Hi there, I want to ask, that Blackberry Key2 have a ALWAYS ON DISPLAY option or not?

  • I made some really rough calculations. If they had put a 16:9 display on there, with the same width and used on-screen buttons, the device would have been about the size of the Samsung galaxy s9+ (perhaps slightly taller and a little less wide), and had a 5.1" screen. That would have probably been an acceptable size, after all other phones in that size sells quite well.

  • actually, if the source material is 720p to 1080p, a 4K screen makes a lot of sense, because of the even scaling. 1080p is 1.5x1.5 times 720, meaning, that proper scaling cant be performed. Whereas 4K is 3x3 720p and 2x2 1080p, so it is compatible with source material that is both 720 and 1080, whereas a 1080p display is only really compatible with 1080p source material. But in this case the biggest issue is that the display aspect ratio and resolution isn't fully compatible with all apps. On-screen buttons and a slightly taller unit with a slightly taller display, to make is 16:9 and Full HD, would have been much better solution. 660 is more energy efficient than 835 and 845 running at full speed. But a down-clocked 835 or 845 could outperform the 660 while using less power. And now there is the 710 chipset, that would have made perfect sense for this device. But that was not around when it was first constructed. And a 835 or 845 chipset would have likely increased the price.

  • The screen is weird though... it has issues with app compatibility. It would have been much better if they had used on-screen buttons, and made the device slightly taller to add the extra bit of display needed to make it a 16:9. Too bad development took so long for this unit. The 660 is more modern than the 625 of the KeyOne, but the new 710 would probably been the best match for a device like this. It should be more powerful while more energy efficient. I'm not sure the image processing capabilities would have helped as it seems the issues with the camera of this comes from the sensor, but perhaps they would have gone for a different camera solution if they had more powerful image processing at hand. And some need capable image capturing devices to be productive, so the camera can be an important aspect of a device that is aimed for productivity.

  • No my friend all are not fool. Some uses phone for gaming and some for camera. Still some people are there too who uses this for professional purpose. Its keyboard helps to type first as well as it saves time. Every one has their own choice.

  • Yes you can call from keypad directly. First of all you have to setup speed dial. Even when you will be using an app you can use the speed key along with the normal key to call a contact from there.

  • It is a Great phone, hope next year blackberry also make another physical keaybord smartphone identical to blackberry key2 with a little bit smaller dimensions to be carried and handled by hand and in the pocket easily. At least 4 inch display screen can be enough. Qwerty smartphones are very handy and useful especially for texting and mailing. I am using nokia E6 qwerty mobile phone but it looks too small.

  • How does the Key 2 Camera compare to the Galaxy A8?!

  • is it possible to call direct from keyboard?because os 10 we call directly from keypad but android key one it is not, only touch. this is very important. can anybody tell us?

  • Perfect for Ultra Text Fans but miss ip68 Waterproof & Qi Wireless Charging

  • Hope they dont add 600 eur price tag for this half plastic phone.

  • why does it exist?

  • Have you compared it with KeyOne? Also is it dual sim?

  • Awesome forget samsung s9 plus its just a toy

  • Could have been a great mobile with AMOLED screen with 16:9 ratio and better camera placement to the left bottom corner. there was no need for the top and bottom notches(for camera and nav keys).

  • So you mean to say all the people using a full screen touch are uselss playing and taking photos and you are the one working?are you on drugs?,its a waste of a powerful chipset with uselss keypad design in 2018juat because you like something doesn't mean whole world will like it,think before you type the words

  • I used the device with full screen brightness throughout the day (nprmal usage) and it still had some battery to serve...

  • 3500mAh (milli-amp) refers to the size of the battery; bigger is generally better. Potential hours is a huge variable considering no one uses the phone in the same manner with the same background processes but, considering the smaller screen and -hopefully- not too much bloatware, I'd expect 3500mAh to get 8-10 hours of typical use. Any new owners able to confirm average usage times?

  • Describe the battery rating plz

  • Hi, I bought it today.. - Excellent design, - Light weight, - keyboard is now fantastic but the max illumination could be a little bit more, - powerful and speedy enough to handle the tasks, - no lags unlike the revious Keyone - I didn't checked the camera yet but good for daily usage - If it has its own applications for Phone, Messages etc, it would be better. Google's colorful applications do not suit in this lovely machine.

  • Excellent Reply...

  • Best smartphone ever made is Blackberry Z10 same as P'9982

  • i love this phone can't wait to have it

  • Man I've never seen such hate for Blackberry, clearly this is not the phone for everyone... Lets get this out of the way now.. No it doesn't take the best pictures... no you can't play crazy intense games... maybe the screen is weird and you hate the keyboard, or the processor isn't "strong enough" go get yourself an iPhone, samsung, or possibly the one plus. These blackberries are designed for productivity and security period. Why do you think its the phone of choice for politicians? Im just saying when have you seen a president play candy crush? They're too busy getting stuff done...Ive been a fan of BB since high school and I've had a ton of different phones since then. Ive also ran a bunch of different businesses since freshman year of college. BB's are work horses, out of all my phones Blackberry's get the most work done. My passport SE w/ google was a monster may she rest in peace. My current running mate is a Classic and she's struggling to keep up. I love BB10 never any issues or hacks. I preordered the key2 yesterday and I'm excited over the amount of output I'll get out of it. I think the BB running android is the best of both worlds, You get the security and productivity from Blackberry and the flexibility with apps and updates from android. Don't mind my endless rant, just wanted to give my 2 cents. With respect to everyone, whatever phone you get its perfect for you, don't knock someone else's preference.

  • Blackberry porsche p9982 Best smartphone ever made (2013)

  • Dude, you have to understand there are people out there using a phone not only for playing games and taking pics as you do, but for productivity matters in business! In 20 years, you will probably understand...now go back to play! :)

  • anybody here with using the phone in real life and the sincere review like pros and cons, i want a phone that can last long in 4G (wifi less in our area), whether i go for S9+/p20 pro or BB key2

  • 1080p@30fps and 60 fps too!~!!!

  • This phone is literally the iphone x

  • Maybe you are right

  • SE 2 is not likely to come. I think I have a source for it:

  • Which precise stylus would be the better one for this smartphone?

  • how??by removing more keys from the keyboard?

  • I wish they would make the phone narrower not wider. Glad they made it lighter. Glad they are still putting out keyboard phones. It is so much quicker to use an actual keyboard than a virtual one. Love my key one.

  • got a nitch idea for you! just program convince key to answer calls.

  • Better wait for BlackBerry Ghost or iPhone se 2

  • SONY XZ1, NOKIA 7 PLUS, APPLE IPHONE 8, which is best in battery backup, low heating, best camera, no laggy, everything in heights,,, or should i wait for best of best NOKIA 9, Blackberry GHOST, IPhone SE2,

  • I was a die hard user of blackberry bold 4(9900) but i dont like it ever since it has converted to android. It has lost its identity by converting to android os.

  • What I really want is a physical button for answering phone calls.

  • Still no physical answer call button?

  • For people that have been demanding a physical keyboard in a world where the majority of phones are all, or nearly all, screen. You’re not the target demographic if you don’t understand the plethora of other reasons that this phone has been made.

  • How do you know? Do you know how much the material costs, the installation and fabrication of which of the phone? How many labour hours, whether human or robotic, does in to making the phone? Shippings costs? Legal cost? Distribution and making deals with carriers and so on? I doubt you do. So unless you can justify why it shouldn’t be that price, and that it should be cheaper since you know the numbers, remain quiet.

  • You’re ridiculous to base your conclusion about the Key2’s use on its mid-range chipset. The 660 is one of Snapdragon’s most energy efficient chips. No phone needs an 845 or 835 unless you’re doing some video or photo rendering, or gaming for really long periods of time. In the cases just mentioned, get a computer, not a phone. Also, having an OLED screen or a higher than 1080p screen is more useless than not unless what you do on your phone supports OLED-type resolution. You seem like the kind of person that would buy a phone with a 4K screen just to say you have one, all the while 99% of what you would do on your 4K phone is 720p to 1080p. Buy a phone with a Snapdragon 835/845 and charge it twice a day with your screen brightness at 80%, or once per day at 50%. Either way you lose because 1) less than 50% brightness reduces the enjoyment of your phone’s screen and 2) you would charge it twice per day. Don’t knock BlackBerry or any phone based only on its “mid-range” specs. In fact, the Snap 835/845 poor three reasons. First, a powerful chipset = more battery consumption = more charging. Second, what you can do with a Snap 835/845 you can most likely do with a 660. The Key2 is for productivity, not endless gaming or rendering on a small screen. Third, you pay for the Snap 835/845 in your purchase of the phone and you most likely don’t use its capable power. Spend $800 CAD for a Key2 nearly perfectly crafted in all respects or an overpriced Samsung for $1000+ CAD?

  • what highend price? check links below and you will see what is highend price. it's 350 EUR difference which is more than 1/2 Key2... If you don't like it don't comment...

  • mid range chipset, high end price. blackberry s****.... overpriced Useless phone.

  • My opinion: good phone and nice rectangle design. Polished off the sharp edges of the KeyOne and made it sleeker. Well done, but personally I like the somewhat heavy design of the KeyOne a little better.

  • For people posting about how this phone is considered "mid-range" because of the SD660. This phone is made for business people who prefers physical keyboards not for those who want to game on their phone. Why SD660? because the 660 is way more power efficient than 845 and that's what the targeted people need, that's why the 3500mah is there. Not a powerful, but a very decent chipset with great multitasking ability. (outperforms some 8xx series in multitasking because of the cores) Also, since when did Snapdragon produce a milestone processor? it has been 3-5 years maybe. Another thing, gorilla glass 3 instead of 5. This can either be because it would be cheaper to produce. But then, gorilla glass 5 sacrifice scratch resistance for drops, where 3 is more resistant to scratches. I have Iphone X(GG5) and it got scratches so easily even compared to the original Pixel (GG 4) I don't blame Blackberry for going this path in terms of chipsets and screen material. We haven't seen any huge improvements lately. Another is the limitation of the android system in terms of resource management especially in CPU/GPU governor. Seriously, once they improve the kernel, android can outperform IOS especially in battery usage.

  • If there would be SD845 inside phone would cost moRe than 850 eur ( check s9 or iphone x). So the price 650 is reasonable for me with 6GB OF RAM...

  • You're not the target demographic then. This will be used by business owners and users who want security + that physical keyboard. It's more than power enough for what they need to use it for.

  • The price is absolutely not justifying the device and it’s spec.

  • I've used BB Passport and SE. Now I'am an Asus Zenfone Zoom user. K2 could be a great deal to go back to BB.... but the price of 650€ kills this device.

  • Just missing Super Amoled + Display

  • Hello sir. This phone has good specs combined with a great physical keyboard. The snapdragon 660,is fast enough, and did not consume a lot of battery like the series of snapdragon 8xx.The price of this phone is good, and overall is cheaper than Iphone and Samsung.Thank you.

  • No IP certification in 2018 ??

  • Good job BB, it keeps getting better. How about on-screen nav keys next time...? Would make for some more screen real-estate (also a top-notch would be fitting in this era...). And maybe add an option to use the space bar as a home button. Overall, nice addition. I'm already waiting for the Key3 ;) Hopefully it's more like a Passport with android....

  • just more work for the garbage collectors

  • Too expensive compare to other brands with this low spec. Snapdragon 660? Really. Not even in premium category. Price level is stupidly high.

  • BlackBerry the best mobile ever.

  • Navigtions button should be a touch one dude.. in display functions keys sucks.

  • Why would BB even bother making such a device

  • Because I love blackberry only for physical keyboard

  • Pls bring BB os,we are waiting.

  • If they at least have used sd 710

  • why physical keyboard again!?

  • Physical keyboard - great. But why, WHY android navigational buttons are still touch ones?

  • Do this new blackberry have stabilise for recording? Like ois or eis?

  • A good phone and different from others boring design with a keyboard. However, a bit expensive and specs not with premium processor. Hopefully price can be reduced as competition is tough out there with many options.

  • This isn't a phone for games and the specifications are more than enough for business use, you do not understand what you are talking about.

  • Well, I know BlackBerry back in the days only sold premium quality... But nowadays stucks at mid-range quality, but with premium overpriced devices. I like the querty, but unfortunately the price of this device is too high for what BB offers.

  • Beautiful but it’s not worth buying this android. I will wait until they make an true Blackberry with B.B. os.

  • Quite the opposite I think - this would be a great replacement for my Honor 8. Can't wait to get my hands on this thing.

  • More of a Conservative Design, no specs for flagship, nor Bussiness Class! Ram Rom Obsolete, Still Name BB is EnCashed. Otherwise a Chinese copy wud be 200$max. Out of question playing games on mini screen, just iPhone copy Trend.

  • ok

  • This phone is WAY too overrated

  • The BB died along with the BB OS. Make a model with a square screen + BB OC 10+Quarty keyboard+Android 8.1 (as an additional OS) and I'll buy myself and all my family

  • Why blackberry does not give android upgrade for classic users

  • There r people waiting for keypad phones like BB curve models. I can't understand why they hesitate to bring android in such cute models !!!!

  • how can I play GTA on this phone?. I really doubt it's possible.

  • We are expecting blackberry android phones on blackberry passport and blackberry classic

  • so why bother even commenting? :) just buy your asus.you know nothing about blackberry. :)

  • The screen is too small for US$ 600 device It's even too small for US$ 120 device. For US$ 600, I would rather buy the Asus Zenfone 5z

  • for just one cm you are crying like that?

  • Read before commenting

  • Why did they have to replace the power-key. Just after you learned that it was on the ”wrong”-side and now its on the ”right”-side.. -.-

  • This device runs android, not BB10 not BBOS.

  • If you are giving a Keyboard, pls give dedicated "Send" and "End" buttons like the old models and an Inbuilt Automatic Call Recorder with Active Ambient Noise Cancellation feature in this model.

  • Yeah Priv 2 will definitely be an awesome phone for blackberry

  • galaxy s20 is the best device in the history of human existence.

  • dear the thing is that they have to sustain in the market.

  • that's right

  • I expected it to be epic in design but I got more uglier

  • well, I guess that this phone with BB OS would have been great/amazing/the best etc. But, let's face it: no interest for developers. Same thing happened with Windows Mobile 10; doomed 'cause of the app base - which is strongly bound to user base.

  • Maybe we will see.

  • Passport was awesome. An Android version with stylus, Samsung quality camera and wireless charging be the ultimate phone.

  • The tragedy is they killed their own BB OS which was the best in the world. For me also Z10 is the best, Q10 is second, plus BB keyboard is also the best.

  • Exactly. Second was the Q10. Funny how all of their phones have been since that generation have been pretty crappy. I wonder what changed at that point?

  • Battery may not be 4000mAH-ish, but it's good enough for a 4.5" screen.

  • What? I mean Z10 is the best device of the history of Blackberry, did you understand now?

  • no Samsung is the best phone the history of blackberry.

  • And still BlackBerry Z10 is the best device of its history

  • Still no OIS, small screen, high price for midrange. Please bring PRIV replacement!

  • WE want OS10 phones.

  • It was not affordable when it was a status symbol of many. When it became affordable, BB renounced a wonderful operating system which opereate seamlessely with hardware and had a wonderful design, the QNX. Let me give one example that vouch the strenght of QNX. have you ever noticed when you forward a clip from whatsapp on android leaves copies for all accounts on your handset, where Whatsaap for Blackberry didn't do such silly errors. This might be a limitation of Android as coders fail to write better codes for Whatsapp. QNX is a wonderful operating system for cell phones, BB is derailed and they are losing their customer base with automobiles as well. They must make this QNX an open source for cellular phones. I predict, within an year, bitten fruit will be closed down. I suspect, top brass in BB is not interested in challenging that bitten bitter fruit. Common man seldom uses commonsense to judge what is what and they are unfazed with security threats and privacy. Actually they don't know how they are manipulated across the world. regards fanBB

  • I am also a Blackberry fan, not because of the branding rather because of all the features it provides. The software, UI and the experience is far better than any other Android phone in the market. Yes it is not for everyone, but for selective people. It's never late to own a Blackberry even in 2018. And regarding BB OS10, definitely it was a gem, but practically it is now impossible and Android is much secure and better when it combines with Blackberry touch. I am just hoping that Key2 comes with at least water resistance.

  • I thought that USB 3 is Impossible with SD6xx series. I was wrong. QWERTY with DP though USB is a very nice business phone. (Edit docs and presentations on road and then show them on projector on the office or meeting).

  • I am using black berry for over 8 years now, I think blackberry should return to the OS10 and bring to it serious update, iPhone X use the same method OS10 was using years ago to swipe up, and OS 10 was very smooth. The software should have updated to mix between android and OS10 with no physical keyboard and bezel less screen. Blackberry messenger should be updated again with login with mobile number to compete with top software (if pics and videos can be sent with higher quality), so everyone will use it. The company now is going to no improvement at all, and going to a dark path, physical keyboard is targeted to certain people only can cannot be used by everyone, and the company cannot expect much sales.

  • Its not the phone will come out this month

  • If only they issued an update of the passport!!

  • I know and understand its only rumor but still hoping for the best.

  • Dissapointed...less battery, main camera sensor seems same on as keyone 1's...

  • Yeah, I hope they would really make a phone which is great for one-handed use with specs as good as this one. I used a BB Z10 and I love the phone even with it's mediocre specs but I love how it works and its one handed usability. I just got used to the gestures and how bad the display was. What killed it for me was how limited the BB OS is.Imagine a Blackberry phone with overkill specs like a Oneplus and great one handed usability and we have a winner. I know Blackberry's signature is its gorgeous and very functional keyboards but we need an all-screen one too.

  • No change in design!. I was expecting BB Passport like design.

  • They should have used Snapdragon 710 Processor.

  • Meh, still too big. Hopefully one day they bring out one you can use with one normal sized hand just like a true Blackberry.

  • Very ugly? It's almost same, just without bezels showing...

  • Comparing it to the key 1 !! . Its very ugly . And not much changed

  • So thrilled, I cant wait :D

  • Can't wait

  • It runs on google own Android, so of course yes you can download and run as many apps from google play store as you can.

  • It's announced to launch in june 7 at new York

  • yup! All the BlackBerry Android since Priv already come with Google Play Store.

  • Does this blackberry allow for app downloads from google play?

  • ARM A53 does not have speculative execution and is immune to both Spectre and Meltdown. I think this also applies to A55. A57 and on have SE and are potentially vulnerable. There are plenty of A53-only design available for anyone worried about security. You are thinking of iPhones, all of which have SE. This was Apple's speed advantage.

  • No

  • will it have lt gigabite ?

  • The SoC here reminds me of the Snapdragon 820 SoC's little brother. '_' . It's less than two years old.

  • With any luck '-) .

  • everything about the Key2 is great but I'm extremely disappointed with them removing the shiney keyboard FRETS. atleast put a matt FRET.

  • Friend, the whole keyboard works as a trackpad for scrolling, who needs the conventional one...

  • Hi, I am user of blackberry from long time and also like tooo much with optical track pad ....!!!!! Please a product with optical track pad because of having more perfection in typing .. Thanks a lot for suggestions....

  • I also wonder why manufacturers are so afraid (?) of physical keyboards. I'm still using old Nokia E72 and in my wet dreams i dream about its successor - small screen + more RAM (2GB is enough), better camera, maybe physical camera shutter button (wonder why so few phones has it) and big battery. The phone doesn't need to be slim - for me it has to be reliable. And the physical keyboard is a must in business, i make so many mistakes on touch screen, but on physical qwerty - it's much faster typing and truly very few typos.. And i agree with you - why so many big phones? Interesting thing - when i looked at Aliexpress - so many refurbished old Nokias are being sold! So there IS a demand! :)

  • Exactly. I have Xiaomi Redmi 3 and old Nokia E72. Much better typing experience on the Nokia - MUCH LESS mistakes and faster to type !!

  • Yep, for serious private business, any arm powered smartphone is a no go But for average worker, it's more than enough since spectre is not some exploit that just anyone can do

  • Will this get Android P update?

  • With the Spectre bug existing in all ARM CPU , no phone is secure even Blackberry phones. the CPU itself is bugged .

  • Its too large phone. Blackberry/TCL should reduce the screen size to 3.8-4.3" and make this Key2 smaller, seriously 15cm is too large size for all phones and no phone should be taller than 14cm. I want a hardware keyboard phone that I can easily use with only one hand. I also want my phone to fit easily into a front zip pocket of my pants and I dont want any additional phone cases. Im not interested in BB OS 10 or older phones.

  • exactly.. the blackberry os was far good than any other os.. its fast and safe... it should back and give proper updates... there will be enough sale for those devices as still there are many blackberry os lovers.... am too waiting for that...

  • I will buy this phone on the first day it releases.

  • Snadragon 660 is 14 nm processor.

  • Yes its 2018 and physical keyboards are still superior to touch based ones. After I had used BB priv for a while I knew there was no way I am going back to an all touch device.

  • The double camera is an evolution, but not the processor or the battery capacity. This must be maintained at 3500mA. The processor must be 636, going back to 660 is an error that will cost dearly

  • Did you just recently learn about Blackberry or Key One?

  • Because such an antiquated processor, 660 is 28 nm. It is not a logical evolution, it must be 636 which is 14 nm. And faster than the 630, because BB?

  • 4.5 inch display with qwerty keyboard!!! r u kidding??? it's 2018 dude!!!

  • I want optical Trackpad and Call / End keys on this form factor like Blackberry Classic and a Stylus. That would be a Perfect package.

  • Market is already flooded with those types of phones...you do not need all the latest tech to have the best phone FOR YOU...

  • Why?

  • But one thing that bothers me is the battery...why slimmed down? They shoul actually boost it up....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Yes...I can’t wait...I was about to pull the trigger on the key1, so happy I waited 👌🏽👌&#127997;👌🏽

  • No I don't agree.

  • Why should BB/TCL try to compete in an already flooded market? They are making decent, mid-priced mid-range phones for a specific market. The high end, super speced phone market is dying off, slowly but surely as there is only so much you can use a phone for in its current form. You will never see phone CPUs competing with desktop/laptop computers for doing real work. That is just some pipe dream thought up by spec fans. Look at the current "always connected Windows laptops" that are out right now. Seen any in the wild? Too narrow a market for a crippled CPU/OS combination.

  • If price ill b under 20 k blackberry win the game

  • No Bluetooth 5.0 No Wireless Charging Perhaps OLED/AMOLED Screen I'll Pass!

  • I don't think they would cut down the battery.

  • I really like this phones by the hardware it packs, i was about to buy a keyone but now it's too late specwise (Nougat, SD 625, 3Gb ram), but a SD660 on a 1080x1620 screen should perform really well, plus 8.1 means trebble (still depend on BB, but it's better than nothing) and more lifetime regarding software updates, 3,5mm jack + radio is always welcome (again, better than not having it), 3.1 type-c and 64gb/6gb internal/ram sound futureproof (at least for 3 or 4 years, maybe more depending on the use), 3360mAh is lower than the Keyone but with the SD660 it should perform well and the size isn't that bulky (15cm x 7cm, maybe 16x8 with a case on). Only a shame that the nav icons are not software rendered and instead fixed, it would be nice to have that bit more of screen or the option to customize them (colour, shape or add).

  • I hope to see bbos again. Goodluck blackberry. I still love your OS and I still waiting to buy an new true blackberry.

  • They should give up already. :(

  • Smaller battery? No bluetooth 5.0 Have to wait until the first reviews, TLC don't build phones with the best spare parts..

  • Hope blackberry will make a revolutionary device such as equipped with a stylus like Galaxy Note, a crispy screen that can be adjusted to 120 hz like Razer phone, fast processor, thinner that it previous keyone to ensure comfortable to hold in hand. The camera should be also as good as iphone. Most important a device with enough memory such as 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage for the premium model would be an added advantage.

  • Will it be coming to Singapore or the United states? Perhaps, the United Kingdom as My phone battery bloated.

  • Why??????????

  • Blackberry should just give up already
