BlackBerry Priv - User Reviews

  • Where can i get this Phone in Qatar & how much the price?

  • Dear friend this is the last phone made by bb

  • same problem, terrible battery draining!

  • We bought this phone bcs of design but please update OS. Or produce same phone with 7nm chipsets. Or I will buy Nokia 8 or similar solid phone. We need solid, uniqe phones with keyboard or make something like Nokia E7...

  • Not so worth the money, bought online the device from the official store, customer support was not helpful and was getting charged for the calls In 3 years I changed 3 devices under guarantee, all of them had overheating and battery problems, issues with the antenna connection and the SIM slot. On the plus side, the device is robust, does not break easily and the mechanical keyboard looks cool for the old school users.

  • How do you fix heat issues and battery drain?. Phone stars lagging when im overheating

  • Hello.Make a reboot of your phone to solve your problem.Overall BB Priv, did not have more support as phone and OS itself,so it's better for you to go on to another BB phone like Key2 or Key2 LE.Thank you.

  • display not working without any reason...lot of phones have the same problem

  • I am a proud owner of Blackberry Priv, and I still use it up to today . I never experienced any problem with it and I wish BlackBerry could come back to life.

  • Yes we really fan of such an incredible phone

  • Priv 2 . :)

  • please update this phone BlackBerry. new processor, camera, GPU, Android, Battery and... We love it.

  • How do I switch off 'This is part of a muted conversation' message?

  • no!

  • How you made it? changing of processor and dual sim

  • I have had two Blackberry Priv phones. I loved the design of this phone, it easily stands out in the crowd of same looking smartphones these days. The slide out keyboard and the front facing loudspeaker along with the gorgeous curved 5.5 inch display was the charm. The keyboard was touch sensitive and could be hidden when you didn't need it, thanks to the slider mechanism. Unfortunately it was released in a wrong time with a shiitty SoC that is outdated, underpowered and prone to severe heating these days. My Priv got heat up severely and drained the battery in no time, due to the bad SoC/Qualcomm Processor. I've moved on but still I would line up to buy if Blackberry releases the Priv (with the same design) and upgraded internals like newer processor, dual SIM etc.

  • Blackberry Priv is a great phone because of its physical keyboard, reason why I bought it. It is a nice phone but can lag if there is a lot of apps open at the same time. When I was overseas though, the sending of photos to the US did NOT work. I have a great plan of unlimited texting, messaging with attachments etc for US and for overseas. But surprisingly the BB Priv failed at this point. It has an extremely poor battery life and drained so fast. It heats up pretty quickly after use. But photos and videos are great! I am a BB fan right from the start but this time this will be added to my collection instead:)

  • So,in your opinion I could still buy it? Tell me a bit more

  • I love my BB priv, I broke the screen today, so sad... gonna cost me almost as much to replace the priv screen as buying a keyone or something If I could pay the same for a new priv I would. Loved this phone. If you can still find a bnib take it. Only drawback is its a little bit underpowered on the CPU side. But the amazing screen and slider keyboard really make up for it. Expect probably 2+ years of good use out of it, then spring starts to wear out if you use keyboard daily.

  • Is it still ok to use? Browsing and stuff?

  • I know it's old. But could you still recommend it?

  • I know it's old. But could you still recommend it?

  • How about the motion

  • Its pretty old tech, and I would recommend going for latest one instead like KeyOne or 2

  • Please how do mean? Can you recommend I buy it?

  • Please tell me about it. I was actually thinking the phone is outdated.

  • Suitable for social use,web browing only..

  • i just love my priv

  • Go for key2 or key2 LE Screen size is good enough I have priv but its not good as key2/key2 LE

  • Hello sir.As i said before BB Priv did not have more support as phone. If you like the keyboard ,go ahead for the latest device Like Key2 and Key2 LE.But if you like bigger screen without keyboard,it's better for you to buy a BB touchscreen, like BB Motion which have 5'5 inch display. For the availability of the latest device you must search on different carrier, retailer or go on Amazon to purchase a new one.Thank you.

  • Hello again, I want to buy a smarphone that is at least 5", screen and with a SLIDING keyboard or in other words another available version of blackberry priv in Pakistan, I have viewed the blackberry Key flagship or series and as they don't slide and have very little screen so they don't count. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank You

  • Thank You for your reply and advice, one more question though any idea where to buy them in Lahore, Pakistan

  • Hello.BB Priv has no more support as phone. If you like Blackberry phone,it's better for you to go on to the latest BB android phone, that are BB Key2 and Key2 LE.Thank you.

  • Hello.. Where can I buy blackberry priv in Lahore. I don't want to buy used but a brand new one. Any ideas?

  • I turn on Battery Save after charging. This way my priv does not drain the battery fast and keeps the phone cooler. I hope this could help.

  • I am experiencing this with my STV100-2 as well.... I already tried the work arounds posted in the internet, the only thing I haven't tried is changing the battery, just too sad it is really hard to find a battery replacement of this unit in my location....

  • My Priv BlackBerry gets too hot and drains battery so fast. I love the phone but am getting disappointments on how the battery is draining. Advice please. If there's any link on how to update please also share.

  • BlackBerry could use their own user interface rather than using stock Android with slightly modified.. Like Samsung uses experience ui , xiaomi uses mi ui blah blah...also have a Ram issue with this phone... I get less free ram of 1 gb after factory reset though it has 3 gb ram ...who knows how much free ram I could get after 6/7 months later without resetting the device.. Sometimes high end games like pubg lags ..but I'm okay with it

  • I had to bypass a google account on BB priv for a friend in Guyana, and believe me that's the first phone I ever see that caught my eyes. Everyone would ask me where did you get that sh** from? I'm a BB fan and I would love a priv to be my own. AHO.

  • I bought a priv because of screen size, keyboard and call quality ratings. It has been a big disappointment. Has had constant issues with phone needing reboots and restarts to run correctly. Needs battery to go,dead and sit , then recharged and started with multiple button reboot. This phone has had more issues than any other phone I,have owned . Even when,it did run correctly it has a very long start up, dark screen and the dreaded Priv screen click. I would not recommend and would steer clear of it. Not on par with similar phones. I have replaced with an LG that is cheaper but actually much better.

  • Hello sir.Depend what you want.If you like only touch screen phone, the Motion is the best model that you can get.But if you like a keyboard phone,it's better for you to take Key2 or Key2 LE,because BB Priv did not have more support ,because it's a 3 years old phone.Thank you

  • The motion and priv which is a better phone?

  • Been an BB Fan from 2012 , I had not like any other brand as this one.. Priv had been a dream phone for long time and had been using it for for over a year.. Had no complaint with it. Great phone to me. and satisfied to the Core. Wish BB release a PRIV 2. This one is an WOW feel creator. You go to any meeting and people start looking at you asking which phone is that. The new gen especially like to have a through look at mobile when ever i slide it up or pull out my hub from the curve screen. Feels very proud and glad i own this over any other in the current market.

  • The priv is a mature and fantastic business companion ....just know your phone and treat it like a companion rather than a play tool. Mine is functioning at top performance and responding as it should since purchased. Thumbs up to the bb team.

  • I have PRIV since 1 year, and right now really satisfied with this. I use too many Phone different Brands Different Models (Samsung, Sony, HTC, iPhone etc...). But this young one gain my respect. qHD screen AMOLED screen, touch slider keyboard amazed me. If something like PRIV2 announced, I can absolutely buy this one too.

  • I have this bb, but it really gets so hot, now it lost its screen light, I don't know what to do?

  • An Android phone in a slider form factor. Hmmm......

  • Very good phone. There are more than one version of this phone. Seems to me like the others got a weaker model because I have the STV100-4 model and I don't have bad battery and speed issues etc. Phone was overheating in the beginning when playing high end games but that became better when I updated the OS software

  • Please its my humble request to all who wants to buy this phone , m using it since 6 months ,I have never seen a rubbish phone like this..

  • Don't buy Blackberry. Priv is the worst device I have ever owned. T Mobile dropped it and no longer supports this substandard phone. Right now my phone is in a never ending starting loop. The phone cannot be trusted to work and seem to break down one hundred different ways.

  • I have my Priv for more than 2 years now and I don't see any new features on the newer phones to make me want to upgrade. People keep forgetting that BlackBerry aim at making phones for Business peop

  • Was a bit disappointed with the Price. It would heat up. Battery wasn’t as strong as I had hoped. Was not weak but felt should have been better. Camera was actually not the best. Rear camera was great I will say but front camera is the same dull camera as Blackberry 10 phones. Android experience was not as fluid on this phone as other phones

  • It only goes up to Marshmallow. I was kind of bummed that it didn't get the update too. However it is still a solid choice if your looking at buying one. I still use mine and I love it!

  • My blackberry charge only 2%. How can I do a reset software for BB priv

  • Is blackberry priv support s android orio.

  • Hello .This is phone can be update from android 5 to android 6 Marshmallow software.Thank you.

  • how to restart when shuts down

  • This phone is upgradable to what Android version?

  • Why not just rely on Gboard or any default soft keys. hardware keyboard on a Touch phone is very impractical.

  • No, the Key 2 doesn't have a retractable keyboard, it's very impractical.

  • my blackberry is getting too hot even i can't hold it.several times i restarted and i have done factory reset so many times and i check for update,so when i got the notification for update i did that as well as applications also updated.i cleared the cache, and every this was set on default such as wallpapers etc.All animations was disable after all it is getting hot and slow battery also drain i took that phone last 3 months ago please help me....!

  • Hello sir.If you like the BB phone ,go for the latest version of BB,The BB Key2.It runs android 8,good build quality and battery life, and great multitasking with the speed key, which offer to you to jumb from an app to another. And dual camera on the back.Thank you.

  • My Priv dates from 2015 and it's starting to die. Overheating more, slow to function and short battery life. Obviously time to replace. I've been BB since the beginning and am loath to change. What is the best option. I like the camera, android system now, large screen. I know I have to give up the tactile type pad. Cost not an issue

  • asphlt 8 works brillienly on the priv... n this priv stil amazez pple i meet in phne stores. the priv has the ablility to stand up straight n has a beautifull QHD screen.... those priv lovers go to play store n download MARS in HD gyro n c gow this grphics works.

  • Hello, I have the phone and I can tell you for sure that the BB priv is not a good phone for gaming. For everyday use like Whatsapp, Facebook, emailing or browsing it works fine. But I would not install any games on it.

  • Hello sir.Yes,The BB Priv support whatsapp, because it's a android phone, and you can install all the app that you want.Thank You.

  • does it support WhatsApp? I had blackberry passport but stopped supporting WhatsApp

  • Hi guys , I like games to play but the phone I am using is not so good so I wanted peoples opinion if I should buy priv or not because i do not want a fake thing plz plz tell me

  • My company employees are experiencing the same. Adding this phone to the employee company phone plan has been a big mistake.

  • It supports tripple sim LOL

  • Started out as a great phone with a physical keyboard ! I was elated , but then came one of the fastest declines in usability/performance declines I have ever witnessed within a year it was overheated and I had to get a new one from the store. And even to this day I'm still using it , and it has to be the slowest phone I've ever used. If you want longevity I would steer clear.

  • using it for a year now . pros : looks amazing works great scroll sensor on keypad amazing features cons : front cam is just 2 MP heats up a lot no Gallery option

  • No. No more support for the Priv.

  • i hope blackberry gets this , im clinton from south africa , n iv been ur blackberry priv for 3 yrz now n wow its the best handset made possible , with the design n each keybourd having sensored bttons for scroll. n its 1 of the onlyy phone tht can stand up ryt n with a frnt speaker to u get all tht sound directly to u.... n wit the screen in qhd it rivils each year's handset coming out....... my friends n on public strangers are more amazed at this phne n thy go wild wen i scroll wit the keyboured. fast internet brillient adreno , the piblem was advertising in the public coz the poeple dont knw a priv exist. n thy want 1. its off the marked bt advertising in south africa was poor. trust me guys. a priv 2 wit fingerprint scnnr n alwayz on screen.. n best advertising , u wudt b the number 1 agen. priv 2 plz

  • It will be worth buying in 2030 lol

  • can you please tell me whether we can upgrade os to latest anroid os ?

  • Great phone. I've recently bought gone back to this phone and bought a new one for super low price of £169. Went back to the priv because phones seem to have become all the same and boring and this one is a little different with its slide out keyboard. Yes it gets a bit warm and stutters if too many apps are open at the same time but the battery life I find is acceptable, the camera is decent (especially the 4K video) and the backlit capacitive physical keyboard is great to type on. The only major downsides are the old version of android and the occasional performance hiccups.

  • Been using my priv since mid 2016, in that time it's run flawlessly if warm at times. Few battery issues if I forgot to charge it overnight but that's on me not the phone. Only starting to show it's age slightly now with some intensive programs/games but for day to day use I'm loath to look for upgrades as I still love the design. Full screen and keyboard.... nothing else really compares for packing in options for how to use it and I'd love to see an updated version with a bit more performance.

  • My Priv lasts a day, but i think if you are using heavy apps it will drain faster, for comparison the Priv using heavy apps (not games) will last about the same time as an iphone 5s/6. My Priv doesn't overheat all the time, but for some reason it does have an issue with Instagram, the app fully works but if you go from watching stories to searching for users it will crash, but once you re-open it and go to search for users it's fine, i thought i was the only person having this issue but i guess i'm not, it could also be an android issue and not exclusively a Priv issue. I use Facebook lite, messenger lite and Skype Lite, i find they are good and don't cause excessive battery drain or memory usage, if you need the full facebook and messenger it doesn't ruin the performance so much, i just don't use facebook that much, i only use the app to accept friend requests but i use messenger daily to talk with people, If you don't need the added stories and other things in the full messenger then lite messenger is best and will save battery. One thing that really saves battery and stops the overheating process is if you can use the phone on one connectivity band, for instance 2G only or 3G only, if you have the 2G option and you are travelling and it has bad network coverage choose this option because the phone will overheat and drain battery trying to search for a signal, i made this mistake once.

  • Terrible all around phone. It feels flimsy in the hand, the plastic camera lens makes me nervous to set it anywhere, and the hardware overall does not work very well. Android Marshmallow runs criminally bad on here. I have had my Priv for a month and I am already looking for a replacement. The battery drains itself and never makes it past 4 hours without the phone dying. Battery saver mode does NOTHING. I can't even use the phone while charging plugged into the power cable and charging base directly from BlackBerry. The phone loses charge while plugged in if you do something as simple as checking the time. The phone does nothing smoothly. I can't use SnapChat, Instagram, or even Google without the app crashing or asking if I want to close it. I have done every fix recommended and nothing worked. Will not be buying another Blackberry handset ever again.

  • Dose it support dual sim

  • is battery life good? can it last upto a day ? if i run heavy apps will the battery drain have you used any heavy apps ? i am not talking about games, if battery life is good as you are saying than will buy as i am using windows phone. Thanks

  • I bought my Priv in November 2017 on Amazon. I have found it to be an outstanding phone. The camera is better then the LG, iPhone and Samsung. I talk a lot on the phone and only charge it every 48 hours. It is a true android phone with app access via google play store. And it has the much more secure BBM platform. that platform is so good that android has an app for it for other android phones (My wife uses it on her samsung). It watch my Hulu, NetFlix and Amazon movies and TV shows on it. My daughters brand new iPhone gave up the ghost. She bought the unlocked Priv on Amazon and loves it too. I would certainly recommend it.

  • Is it worth buying in 2018?

  • Tell about its battery life

  • Except looks there is nothing good in this phone. Heats up within 5 minutes of using. Heck, even switching it on makes the phone heat up. Not good processor. I regret buying this junk that looks like Ferrari, performs like Tata Nano. Wish Blackberry would launch a Priv 2 with better internals like newer processor, upgraded RAM, Metal body etc.

  • After 16 months i was told the software of my BlackBerry Priv needs an update.

  • It is safe if you're ordering from a trusted seller. Please check the seller ratings and confirm if you're getting a brand new deal from the seller, only then go ahead because on ebay, there are a lot of refurbished models on sale. Check the condition and verify with the seller. Most of the listings for Blackberry Priv on ebay India are imported models. There are 4 models of Blackberry Priv. STV100-1, STV100-2, STV100-3 & STV100-4. I've had the STV100-2 model (US Verizon) and it supports Jio 4G VoLTE. You'll be able to make and receive calls on Jio 4G network on the STV100-2 model but it lacks band 2300 Mhz which is the main band for Jio 4G in India. STV100-3 is the best model if you're going to use Jio 4G VoLTE in India but it doesn't support wireless charging compared to other models. So I would say, choose between STV100-2 and STV100-3 model according to your preference.

  • Is it safe to buy from eBay India? Please tell. Anyone have any experince? I want a specific model STV100-3 which supports all Jio 4G bands in India.

  • the battery drain quite fast when you always use it, SOT just about 1.5 to 2.5 hours. but I always come out with better solution by using Qualcomm QC 3.0 charger. it charge quite fast and save my time. base on my experience after using blackberry priv for nearly one year.

  • Get a blackberry classic

  • It will last a full day from full charge easily. you will get 4-5 SOT even with continuous video playback. With games i dont know.

  • someone kindly tell me about battery performance of this phone. Does it drain fast when in use and does it drain when off screen. How many hours on screen am i guaranteed.

  • No marshmallow is the last one

  • I have had 3 PRIV phones. They last only 1 year and began to get hot and basically cook the always ends up shutdown and never turns back on. But I still keep coming back. Best size screen with amazing video/picture quality.

  • I think the PRiv is one of the best BlackBerrys to date. Strong and reliable. I can seriously say this because I accidentally drove over mine and guess what. Im actually typing this review from that same phone. Yes the phone was badly bent and if it any other phone Im sure it would've been a lot worse. The screen is so messed up but honestly the phone works fine. I still use it everyday. And every feature works. It would've been nice if it had LTE but besides that fact. Its a awesome little big phone. 💯 percent love it.

  • Blackberry is the best of mobile in word, because blackberry is high security platform & App.

  • I apologize for saying the wrong thing regarding the Blackberry Keyboard in my previous post. I had forgotten to update all the apps including the Blackberry Keyboard from the first boot. Now I'm done updating and setting up the Blackberry Keyboard app, texting feels more fun on a whole new level. Gestures to delete and to move the pointer works really well using both the virtual and physical keyboard. I've always preferred the swipe way of typing ever since its inception and swiping to text works smoothly even on the physical keyboard which is really amazing. Autocorrect & predictions are spot on. The texting experience is the best I've ever seen in a phone. Gboard looks too inferior now. Blackberry Keyboard is light years ahead of Gboard and there's no comparison between these two keyboards. The rich texting experience really amazed me and in fact, this is the first time I'm impressed with the texting experience on a phone. How could I forgot, texting has been the classic defining feature of Blackberries. I take my criticism back regarding the texting abilities of the Blackberry Priv, it's the best in its class. The only major problem with this device is that it overheats even with slight usage otherwise it's one of the best smartphones I've ever had. I actually opened the back housing to analyze the heating issue and found that the processor is the culprit in this case. Hope Blackberry would do a Priv 2.0 with a more sturdy and durable design while retaining the same form factor and design language of the Priv with an updated processor like Snapdragon 660.

  • It's a very good phone, no doubt. But it's still stuck on Marshmallow which kind feels old if you've used Nougat or Oreo. Blackberry keyboard isn't as good as Gboard when it comes to swipe or gesture based texting and predictions but I'm just starting out. I've always been a hardware keyboard fan so this is my first Blackberry phone that I really like, despite its shortcomings. The hardware keyboard works nice expect if you're swiping to text on it. The spacebar on the on screen keyboard can't be used like a cursor but surprisingly on the hardware qwerty keyboard, it can be used as a cursor if you repeatedly tap on the spacebar thrice. The phone gets warm with light usage and app installs are pretty show. Snapdragon 808 and 810 gen processors were infamous for heating up.. Despite being a BlackBerry, software support has been ceased for this phone quite early So that means no latest security patches or major updates.. I guess Blueborne, Wi-Fi KRACK, Spectre & Meltdown vulnerabilities aren't patched and won't ever be patched. I regret buying this phone for the poor software experience but then I only got it because of the standout design..

  • Priv is a great phone but can be much better. Bring on Priv 2.0 BB

  • This is the worse phone I ever had. It's too slow and overheat after use an hour. Please don't waste your money to buy this useless phone.

  • Hi, i have been using Blackberry PRIV for two years now and it has been amazing up to so far. i encourage you guys to get one. I am just struggling to see all my contacts because some i have saved on my gmail account and others on the device. Any who could advice on what to do?

  • It is currently on 6.01 ... probably forever.

  • Hi.. Did Blackberry update the Priv to Nougat? Yes or no? Or Marshmallow was the last update? Kindly answer.

  • I used the Blackberry Priv for one year and just after the warranty expired the phone broke. apparently the Android stopped booting! The cost of repairs is not worth it. Very disappointed for a very loyal fan of Blackberry since 2002. Never again.

  • i have been a BB fan for a while now.. and am looking forward to purchase the priv.. thanks guys for all the reviews.. much appreciated..

  • when?

  • They could just make a Blackberry Z30Q...just put a removable battery and i'd be okay with that.

  • Hopefully they make 3 or it a Landscape Slider with similar specs as the Passport (Blackberry Paper), Priv (Blackberry Scissors) or Keyone (Blackberry Rock) in a Wide 5" Display though...if they put the Front Camera on the Keyboard, put the Microphone/Sensers/Recievers/Speakers on the Edge & Develop Features config Soft Bezel/NavigateBar/NotifyBar then it would be a Non-Bezel Phone

  • Hopefully they make it a Landslider and not a Portrait Slider

  • Hello If you like the physical keyboard,BB mobile will release 2 new Blackberry with qwerty keyboard this year.

  • This is a unique phone. Unfortunately I drowned my phone two months ago and bought a replacement online (the same Blackberry Priv), which turned out to be counterfeit! It did not last even a month and the software started messing up seriously. Also every time I tried downloading updates, I was getting a message "the device is not recognized"! I am eventually getting a refund for the phone, however I am facing the same dilemma now: should I get a new Priv (which is perhaps the best phone I ever used) or go for Blackberry Keyone.

  • I need a sincere reply. With the recent update issue, would you still advice that I go for this device? If yes, why?

  • I bought my Priv last year Feb, after a month the physical keyboard stops working, I now use the touch keyboard, can someone assist? Other than that it works very good, even the photos are much better than that of my wife who uses IPhone 6.

  • I love the device nothing else to say

  • this phone deserves 7.0

  • No update on this phone whether it is a carrier branded phone or not.

  • I didnt expect that Gorilla glass 4 on this phone would easily scratch on my jacket pocket ( no coins or anything but the phone). I was confident that this wont happen since i saw how tough it was when i saw the torture test videos . My budget phone with a dated Gorilla glass 2 was even tougher than this one .

  • Thank you, i love the Priv so much, i will continue using it until blackberry releases an updated Priv or until app support ends for android 6

  • Man you said exactly what I was going to say, I can't agree with you anymore

  • I have used this phone for 11 months, in one month it will be my one year anniversary with this perfect phone. This phone is perfect for my needs, it had a great camera and the keyboard is perfect for typing, it has made me more engaging with people because i was using an iphone previously and i hated typing to people. If you are experiencing a bad battery life, please do some of the following solutions, Go to Settings, Location, Mode and select Battery Saving. Also, while in Location settings click Google Location History and turn this off it will help your phone a lot, make sure to check frequently as the Location mode can always change back to High Frequency which drains the battery faster. Also, if you want to maximise battery even more disable the Location in the permissions of the apps, some apps need permission like the Google apps including Photos, this is the one app i always allow, if you use a location based app and the permission is turned off when you open the app it will ask if you want to allow the app your location and you can accept this. I also use Battery Saver all day, this stops all vibrations on the phone which can cause the battery to decrease faster. Another thing to really help is in Developer Options in Drawing section, i turned off all Animation options and this has even made my phone faster too, i have noticed a 20% increase in my battery life, i get 14 hours out of my battery before i sleep and the battery percentage is between 20-30% after the 14 hours usage.

  • Im also using a PRIV since 6 months, not satisfied with battery performance atall but yes its a unique phone for official purpose, so I kept it only for email and other official communication purpose but for heavy browsing and for playing game I kept a xiaomi :))

  • The phone is a very nice phone that I would recommend to anyone anytime and anywhere. to those feeling bad for the stopped updates, I doubt people actually know what such update does to phones and if it makes any specific and noticeable change to the running of the phone. the phone is exquisite but cheap phone and whether marshmallow, nougat or kitkat, everything gets outdated in 2018.

  • its a very nice phone, been using it for over a year and its as smooth as you could imagine plus it stronger than it looks

  • Thanks

  • Yes, it will, but it might not be as secure as it once was.

  • I really do not understand you guys. Can one still buy this phone even without the android updates? Would it still be useful?

  • thanks alot brother i'm planning to upgrade my blackberry z30to priv your review was helpfull

  • still have doubt about it !!!

  • that means its totally useless better go for xiaomi in this price range with OS 7-8

  • it became useless go for xiaomi in this price range, lots of features im using both priv and xiaomi ;)

  • So,should I forget about buying it?

  • In otherwords,no point going for it

  • This phone will no longer receive Android updates. It came with Android 5.1. The black box international version will get the Nougat update but the carrier branded phones will not, they cant. Phone is good and usable but sadly not supported by manufacturer in keeping software updated. For Blacberry with Adroid 7, look at the KeyOne.

  • Can I still buy this phone? Or has it become useless because of the recent news from its maker?

  • Pls when it says that support for this phone will be discontinued, what does it mean?

  • Pls when it says that support for this phone will be discontinued, what does it mean? Is it that the phone will become wortheless or what? Can one still go for it, and why if so?

  • Thanks. :)

  • Down to 199 and no top up in Curry's :)

  • Honestly I love the Priv. It has a beautiful screen (with a PPI higher than most flagship phones today), the keyboard is solid and clicky, and the back of it is very grippy and does not slide. I am bummed about not getting the upgrade to Nougat, but Marshmallow will do. The features BlackBerry added are very nice too. I would highly recommend this phone to anybody, even if they don't like the physical keyboard!

  • Down to £199 plus 10 top up at Carphone Warehouse, very good phone.

  • So a two years old phone who did not even got Android Nougat is getting its support discontinued? Wow, this is so BB. As someone is saying, they are the zombies of this whole mobile phone world.

  • There is new Camaro but classic still worth

  • Hey guys I wanna ask about the build quality Is it weak ?

  • does it support 4g volte

  • Yes you can use, and it's fully come as Android, you can use all kinda apps from play store.

  • Switched from iPhone to s7 edge which I never thot I would change for years but then when I got my priv I am planning to buy 2 just for the casement phone

  • Ok tqvm... I will consider for it...

  • Hello Yes,the BB priv support all the app that you want, because it's an android phone.

  • Hi guys, may I ask isn’t this B.B. priv can support WhatsApp and WeChat? I’m from Malaysia

  • Hello Ryan. The speed is very close. (Under + or - 0.5 sec). Priv vs IPhone 6s. But , Blackberry offers other data security! It's very important!

  • can I know if you use iphone or try iphone? Want to know if it will be the same fast as iphone if I switch to priv. Thanks RYAN

  • I still use Blackberry Priv. Work perfect with Android 6.0.1. and Android Security patch level ver. 5 Oct 2017.Battery life - 36÷48 hours. Great phone!

  • how do I upgrade my priv operating system

  • The BlackBerry Privind is amazing in 2017, I bought one and will buy other one. Just Amazing...

  • Yes

  • No

  • Yes

  • i used to have blackberry Bold then i moved to iphone and i have been using iphone from iphone 2 till iphone 7 and i just got blackberry priv and the device is amazing design and performance and battery and the device is highly recommended.

  • Hmm the phone was released a November 2015....and it wasn't considered groundbreaking then...

  • Is this phone worth it today? Planning to pick it up but was wondering if it's still on par with phones available in today's market (December 2017).

  • I like the Style very Much as a Life Time Product , Must Launch a Priv 2 with More Camera & Storage should be appreciated.

  • This is not a good phone for video calling. The front facing camera is AWFUL!

  • it's the same i guess

  • In Sri Lanka, Colombo, Priv is sold at different prices. Doctor Mobile Co sells for USD 255 and Greenwere Co USD 340. Greenwere says they sell Global quality product (not chinese) thats why price is high. Can anybody tell me is this correct..? Can anybody tell how to find the difference between Chinese and Eurobean Priv..?

  • Anyone from Philippines here, is this phone good to use in video chat/calling, i really wanted to buy this but i will often use it in video calling like skype and facebook. Please help. Ty

  • as it suppor OTG?

  • can i get Priv STV100-3 in uae? where?

  • yes u hve to look for stv100-2

  • Is there different models in priv like i heard some models doesn't support 4g........is it real?

  • Which one is best blackberry private and Nokia 6

  • Im from ph..and i am using blackberry Priv for a month and i would say its amazing...the design..the camera..For me its perfect..but it would depend on the user..mostly im using this for social media like facebook..twitter..and etc..i ddnt try heavy games on this phone because im not into games...but for me over all its nice..above average and the design is just amazing..head turner device..

  • Battery is good. But the phone lags at times.

  • Go to settings / personal / language & inputs/ keyboards & input methods

  • can we update to nougat??????????//

  • try to update first then from setting reset phone

  • its such a nice device. am hoping to see a second series on the same. not alot of change on its design but maybe on the program it runs

  • Anybody can tell me how can l add another language to the phone .ps reply as soon as possible

  • How its camera quality is? Like iphone 6s or not?

  • I'm hoping for a Priv 2 or 2018 series. Don't change much on the design of the phone but integrate a fringerprint scanner on the space bar (like the one in KeyOne), change the design of the camera and the flash, change the material on the back, get better cameras (specially on the front), latest processors, atleast 64GB, 4gb of RAM. Then the rest is fine.

  • I just ordered one after having some hands-on experience..simply awesome phone. I was looking for something unique and this is the answer I found

  • Anyone from the PH? I really want to buy this even if it was released year 2015. What's your reviews? I often use apps like Youtube LinkedIn Skype Facebook Instagram Twitter Viber Spotify Uber Grab

  • If don't use third party software, priv battery can run whom day, have a nice day

  • Yes, depending on the usage

  • hello

  • what about the battery performance? does it cover one day full if charged 100%??

  • Hello ! For how long will the PRIV receive security updates? Thanks.

  • Nagpur - India

  • Where are you from? Where do you buy your priv?

  • Really?

  • Take it to service station

  • It's with headset

  • Grab it immediately without wasting any time

  • Dear buddy... I have one question.. Blackberry priv.. Is it without headset...

  • I would say Nokia. Its pure android experience. The Front camera is way better than Priv. Priv also suffers from poor battery life.

  • blackberry priv or nokia 6 - which one will better??

  • This phone is what it is. no other way to put it. it's getting a bit old technology wise. that's not to say it's slow, but don't expect this to keep up with a current flagship in any way shape or form. Good screen, good speakers, good software (it's extremely aggressive about questionable apps) Decent battery, feel in the hands when NOT opened up. charging is below average, the wireless charging is complete cattle droppings (likes to stop charging and drains the batter ON the wireless charger), rear camera is middle of the road and the front camera is pretty sad. when the keyboard is open it's a impossible to keep this thing in your hands without cramping up so bad you drop it. it also feels very fragile. If I had to choose between this and the dtek 60 I'd have chosen the dtek.

  • My blackberry lost SIM connectivity after updating to Marshmallow, what shoud i do now??

  • Well, the chipset of this smartphone tells it. Even if the SNAPDRAGON 810 overheats, it won't throttle that much like this BlackBerry Priv's SNAPDRAGON 808

  • I reply this from my priv, its good the draw back is only in selfie camera, other than its great phone and you will love it. Only few own this

  • I would love to buy this phone. Can anybody please tell me a detailed review about this phone. Especially battery life. Thank you

  • please how can i reset? i tried to update when alert came since 10days now it wont come up. blue light blinking

  • I bought this phone this year and only used it for two Months. I thought i got a phone already. It's always getting hot when answering a call. Last night i receive alert to update my software and i did click yes, now it wont come up. keep showing blue blink light. I have tried all options to fix it i found online, there seems to be no hope. I am so sad, i really love this phone. If you got solution please let me know.

  • its both touch and type

  • I have Priv since July 2016, I use it every day, and use only this device, so I can tell you from my experience - Not at all. Urban legend.

  • I am very interested in the priv but I have heard that they tend to get image burns? When you lock the phone you can still see outlines of the images?

  • is this a touch and type phone? and can i play games here like nba live? plpease answer coz i really like this phone

  • It surely is, love my Priv!!

  • Dear Vishal, I am quoting you - "Overheating issue, Totally wastage of money, the other stuff is really really bad, the battery life is about 2 hours of regular use on 4g" Are we talking about the same device? battery - 2 hours?!!! Well, I wonder. See my review from today. Thanks

  • I use PRIV for over a year and a half. Beyond all doubt - this is the most favorite smartphone of any smartphone I have ever had. I did not have unpleasant experiences with battery, heating, and so on. The beauty, the solidity, the speed of response, the usability - all make this smartphone great. And there's also an important bonus - since I've been using it, I've had no desire to change to a new device every six months / year - the device delivers all of my needs with exceptional efficiency. And a last personal detail - strange as it was, as time passes, more and more like this device.

  • declined no nougat for our bb priv :( but then also i will keep using it as my primary device its an attention grabber in public ;)

  • no

  • Is blackberry priv will get androied noghat 7 or oreo 8 ?

  • Everything is good like design, curved screen, physical capacitive keyboard etc. But the bad thing is battery, draining fast, heating up while charging or video watching or playing games.

  • A good smartphone with bb goodwill.. Pros Best camera,,,front camera is good but not great Very good built and design Keyboard is great Durable Cons Battery is not that great ...but in this days it is not an issue A little bit heavy No fingerprint Missing some new features of 2017 Is it still worth in 2k17 Sept My answer is yes In India we can buy it around 20 k which is 300$;

  • Using iphone 6 as main so was giving a shot on used 1st for 13000 was getting u still think its not worth for using as primary let me know pls

  • lazada

  • that problem was solved long time ago just update and reset your phone.

  • Procs: Over all a good model. Useing it last 5 months good battery life for 4G is normal. Cons:Not for gaming purpose.Got heated immediately when you start playing games on it.

  • wechat no payment, no whatsapp later on....a pieces of junk

  • Overheating issue in india as i am using blackberry priv at &t. Totally wastage of money. Camera is really good but that is the only advantage of this phone. But the other stuff is really really bad as the battery life is about 2 hours of regular use on 4g. No doubt design is very good and the keyboard is also really nice. But this things only can not make this phone better. Please don't purchase this phone. There are many other smartphones available in market in this price range such as samsung s6, s7, s7 edge. Please don't waste money on bb priv.

  • Hi, I've just bought my one around two weeks ago. I gave up my iPhone 6S for it. The main reason was for the physical keyboard as for work I am required to reply back to long emails etc. Honestly speaking despite it being an old phone, I absolutely love it. I mean there are some small issues such as Snapchat freezing but I can accept these issues. I mean it is a device that's been designed for work purposes. Anyways a phone I definitely recommend if your looking for a device that can work around your work life

  • Where can i buy this phone model here in the Philippines?

  • Yes you dont believe because you dont know me in person. I am very OCD about it. I even put them in Sirui HC70 drybox at night.

  • It supports volte in India. But before purchasing check the models. It has four models. Stv 100-1, stv 100-2, stv 100-3 and stv 100-4. Don't purchase stv 100-4 as it doesn't support all bands of jio. But all model supports volte. I got loss after purchasing stv 100-4. Now I am using stv 100-3 and everything is fine now.

  • The main difference is Network bandwidth. I can suggest you to buy only that model which is perfect for your country. Even one more model stv 100-4 is there available in market.

  • Hahaha, are you a real user of priv? I think you are not complaining you are commenting. I have two priv, and both are lasting for 6 hours in heavy use. Without internet connection it lasts more than 1.5 days with heavy calling and music, video playing. I usually charging it twice a day. For me it is worth buying.

  • I bought stv-100 6 months back but it's getting heat in normal condition, there by facing lot of problems in using this

  • This phone is worth to buy, I sold my Iphone 7Plus 128GB to Blackberry Android for my first trial. I good enough no hangs smooth and especially have a keyboard really make me easy for reply long email while working.

  • is this phone is still worth to buy now ? will it be upgrade to nougat ? every one is complaining about battery is it a deal breaker ?

  • Well, BB is not you. Go buy a Red MI 4

  • buy another one

  • yes

  • very true

  • Not sure, and really not required

  • Yes, it support

  • you are lucky, and yes, everybody drops the phone once. I'm sorry, but i dont believe you didnt drop your phone once. Sorry

  • Dropped your phone, like everyone does? I never drop my phone before... And my Priv didnt seem to have the problems you are having.

  • I bought mine from Indonesia. But its from Singapore actually. Im not sure about the differences but i tend to like stuff from Singapore better as they really are better (quality checks and stuff)

  • Hello, i have this phone for about 1 year. The battery life is about 2 hours on social media or 30-40 minutes on games. 1 hour talk on 4G maximum, it overheats almost instantly when i play games. Its a crappy phone compared to the price and compared to other phones on the market. Don't buy this phone unless you stay like 5 minutes on it or you have too much money to spend. The quality is awful, i dropped my phone, like everyone does, from the desk and from hand. It teared apart. The materials are awfull again, poor signs of resistance at cold temperatures or hot. The plastic on the back scratches when you touch it with your nails. Blackberry, return the money to the owners, i am astonished and disgusted by this phone at almost 600$ in my country for a piece of junk.

  • Well, for me battery is really bad, after 6 months of using this phone I need to charge it twice per day. And yes, it likes to be very hot. But still - I really love my PRIV...

  • i would like to buy bb priv, but i am finding 24,999/- for unlocked phone and 32,999/- for amazon fulfilled. which is good and how much it costs for unlocking the phone if it is imported model

  • had this issue before update to latest version OS, then reset your phone and see the magic

  • i love BB mobile from 9000 until now. i use mobile phone for email, text sms , web only. super slow....and too hot.. after got high temp.. no wireless connection.. program will shut down all the signal(wifi and 4G,3G,2G) buy passport or keyone.. priv is really bad..

  • i love blackberry. i love this phone. i hope to have one someday.

  • lovely phone

  • Just now got an update Hope phone would be much more better now

  • No S6 edge + is better

  • this phone support volte or not in india

  • I love and want to buy BB priv. Pleas there's anyone guide me. Is it good Andoid,,,, for whatsapp, IMO, Facebook ?.... there's a friend of mine, he told me, that Andoid will run in BB Priv only this year....is it true?

  • If you a game, not buy a Priv. But if you student ou bussiness person this is your better choice!

  • currently using s6 edge +,is it worth going for the priv?

  • Is there any possibility to update to nogut ???

  • Yes Its standby battery life is best till now

  • Guys I don't have any of the issue you are talking about. I have updated my OS to latest one with latest bug fixes provided. While using GPS it gets warm not hot. I don't use any type of case for my priv. Infact now the phone is faster than earlier due to optimised marshmallow. If it gets nougat it will beat keyone in performance for sure.

  • im not sure but mine after the update my priv is doing well battery life as well is really good ill sleep like 69% when i wake up i had 68% still...

  • I still can get very worm but not easy, you can use it normally without having heating problems. The battery is more than fine but not amazing. Otherwise, the phone is not the fastest but really cool to have it. I just enjoy mine very much!

  • Just to confirm. Priv dont have heating issues anymore? Battery life is better with new update? Im planning to have one, my choices actually are sony xperia xa1, lg a7 mini, or bb priv. Any concerns with those 3 i listed. Im more of a gamer/fb/youtube/music. Battery and performance a good plus for me? So which is which? Needhelp thanks

  • Go ahead it's worth it

  • And then your Keyone screen falls off. Personally I prefer the Priv. It's like the Vertu of Blackberry phones.

  • As someone mentioned that the problem is with the chipset series S808 and S810, so I think Keyone is the better choice.

  • Im using blackberry priv flip cover but when using 3G or GPS its getting too much hot

  • Lol then why u spend it on the 2nd one? LMAO

  • I have 2 handsets of BB PRIV and both have problems. The first one has problem with the battery and the second one has problem with the power switch!! Sounds crazy, but yes, I am facing this problem and the response from BB workshop is too slow. It might take 15 days to fix the problem. Really bad. Not worth spending on BB phones now.

  • Thank you! A honest one.

  • 1000%

  • This phone is so underrated.. Garnered several negative review but, hey have they revisited this device and make a review again? Im using priv and it satisfied more than using those well-known flagship devices from a far more popular OEMs. I dont know what makes them cry. My only gripe About this device is the front facing 2mp camera. Luckily im not a selfie fan anymore so its not a big deal.

  • Nope not with latest os 10's

  • Hi Guys planning to buy this phone, is it still worth for 2017 ?

  • Maybe a good case will help you.

  • Yes performance is better after the update but still its getting hot after using 3g for a while or location service.

  • Its not bad as you think im running 6.0.1 im satisfied with the priv its not running hot like before and performance has improved a bit... but if you want to improved its battery here are some apps which i use that helps a lot greenify, pixel filter, and hibernation manager... it saves tons of battery life.... after the update i notice it charger bit faster and not that hot as before.... but if you want to charger more faster just put phone in airplane mode... and lastly put the animation into .5x in the developer options... hope this helps....to all priv users like me trust me... ill keep this phone for a while every time i use it in public people turn their heads especially when i use the physical keyboards....

  • and fortunately just now I bought a set with Snapdragon 808 :( :( :( so I have to live with the heat

  • Heat issue was caused by the S808 cpu. During that period, all Snapdragon CPU had heat problems, ie S808 and S810.

  • whatever you do, the heat issue remains :( Im using a flip cover but still I feel the heat after using net for a while !!! but after today's update its charging very fast, I received set with OS-6.0, after upgrading to OS-6.0.1 battery life increased a little bit.

  • Yes, i had done that.

  • Decent battery. But you will need to charge it twice a day if you use it heavily.

  • Please reset it once. Your phone will be okay after that. Heating issue will be completely resolved and your battery backup will be improved too.

  • update to latest version then factory reset will fix battery and heat issue

  • it really works no heat issue, good battery life till now there are some more things, check below forum posts

  • upgrade to last version, then resetting factory...this is work for me

  • yes , Turn on Voice over LTE and LTE video calling

  • is there any possibility to update to android 7 ???

  • Got my Priv almost a year now and I must say that the phone is fantastic. The performance is smooth, BB launcher is full of useful features and the slide out keyboard just makes sense to me. Only problems I have is the battery and display. I do get a full day out of it, but the stand by time is terrible. On screen time is good though, can achieve about 5-6 hours depending on tasks but if you leave your phone untouched it will still drain. As for the display, it's suffering on screen burning because of the AMOLED. Overall, performance is good and the phone looks stunning. My Priv always catches the eyes in a big crowd against my friends iPhones and S8's which is also cool. I highly recommend this phone for business use, as the emailing and BlackBerry HUB works like a boss.

  • can have a fingerprint sensor for money value

  • Good opinion. How does the email handling compare to that of the S8+ ?. Do you prefer using the Priv for all your emails? Im thinking of having the same setup. Thanks

  • bb os 10 run andriod too. i have mine.

  • Is there any possibility to update to 7.0 ???

  • it runs android, not BB os 10

  • i bought 3 years ago z 10 , the camera clarity is amazing, bb hub is simply superb, but I faced camera problem, every time it shows camera can't start, now i am about to buy a BB prive....I am mad about blackberry

  • Does blackberry priv supports VOLTE .??

  • Not really, since it runs Blackberry OS v10. All data subscription works

  • I am using one and I have never faced any issues . It gets me through a day and with rugged use (8- 10 hrs) You Ppl either bought faulty devices or u ppl are trolls.

  • If u update their phone to latest phone and bug fixes, the heating issue will be sorted. It will take at least a month to settle down. As it is for any android device ( other than flagship ones with top end specs)

  • When Att installed the prim they used te one fom the blackberry prive which is the wrong size. Naturally they denied this as it has been my experience the ore ignorant people are he less eager hey are to lean . Usually I leave them faultless as everyone makes mistakes and we all must lean. . Lately they implemented the new forever accounting system. As in any arena one must explain it from the basis, not the highest level and expect positive results. I need to find the correct prim holder for my priv-3 as it otherwise will never work . it works marginally and the att employee would piss down my back and tell me it was raining!!

  • I've had this phone for about a week now, and I love it. I often spend a lot of time just looking at it. It's design is beautifully crafted. By the far the most attractive phone I've ever had. Now I have noticed some problems with it over heating but nothing too bad. Aside from that, this phones amazing

  • Guys please help, does all Blackberry allow you to buy BIS monthly? I want to buy Z10

  • blackberry priv model avilable VOLTE suport ple reply guies

  • i recently bought a blackberry priv but i do not even know where i can find my music or view stuff i have loaded on my memory card it seems blackberry has actually upgraded its complexity

  • Don't get the Priv for battery life. Mine sucked. Got a new one. Still sucked. My friend's battery life sucks too. I get around 3 to 3 and a half hours of screen on time. Also, the phone gets EXTREMELY hot doing even the simplest tasks.

  • i have a BB Z30 thinking of getting a Priv.. concerned about battery life as the Z30 is pretty good... anyone make this switch that can offer opinion?

  • OTG works fine. Connecting a Mouse gives you a cursor, as usual on Android. Also reading Data off an external hard drive or an USB stik works fine! ;)

  • what the hell yr :/ secondary 2mp camera in this century? :/ i love its shape and the slider because i love slide phone and a good effort to make phone like these for old fashion lovers old is gold but still yr :/ 2mp secondary wtf and no finger sensor? even q mobile also giving this feature yr in 10k ranges phone why not you? ediots black berry. make priv 2 or any other phone like this with atleast 5mp secondary camra and fingersensor

  • Has anybody practically tried if Blackberry Priv has USB OTG/host feature? Can we plug in mouse/keyboard/pen drive via USB OTG cable and view/play contents?

  • obviously priv is better

  • Someone stole my blackberry priv and sold it to anyonmas, what can i do to find it. i loved it so much , i used to have z10 it broke the screen and now it not work.

  • this phone built quality is not worth for the price.

  • then keep waiting! :)

  • This is a good phone. the specs should tell you about the phone's capabilities. Everything work well and the security is legendary. the physical feel is awesome too and the back panel is meant for comfortable holding as well as a simply amazing feeling. The phone was released in 2015 but for all intents and purposes, it performs awesomely.

  • Please let me know the time.. I can wait for it

  • I like the design of blackberry priv. And i am planning to buy this. But i want to know if this old flagship still performs very well. In what latest phone can you compare its performance just to give me idea? Is this better than nokia 6 in terms of performance?

  • Kinda disappointed. This is first non Apple phone I bought and while it has some awesome features like a physical keyboard and sd card slot I'll be honest, I'm kinda disappointed with it. The camera is meh, the back is a little flimsy making it feel cheap, and apps frequently stop responding. I've only had it for a year but that's enough for me, I'll be trying the BlackBerry Keyone.

  • just download - MP3 Cutter and Ringtone Maker

  • I bought a Blackberry Priv a couple of years ago. The first thing I didn't like is you couldn't use your own mp3 music o make special rings. I've tried many apps some of them work inconsistently, some not at all. The nightmare is every since I got it periodically it will suddenly drop 100 of your contacts and often it will scramble the phone numbers assigning them to the wrong person. now its doing this more and more frequently. Maybe I was unfortunate and simply got a bad apple from the barrel, but that Priv has to go. any suggestions for a replacement. I want a Blackberry also I want to retain my sanity!

  • Already owning a Moto x style? Will this be worthy upgrade or not?

  • Okay phone. Good battery life, but SUPER slow - want to throw it out of the window most of the time.

  • Wonderfull phone very underrated. Does get a bit hot occasionally though!

  • i definitely recommend this mobile long lasting battery life even my data is open continually great speaker. very snappy Not as Good camera But It was Fine... Awesome Phone Look elegant plus it has Qwerty Keyboard That HelpS U to Type Fast :) loving It...

  • I need a second device to use like tablet (browse, read articles in internet, occasional keying in data in webpages and emails) as I have free company sim. I had a Z30 but I feel like I'd really like a keyboard for the usage. Am using iPhone 7 as main comm device as family all use iOS but keying data is kinda annoying with it as it automatically zooms in page to the blank to key in data and keyboard pops up taking half screen. Which is better, Passport or Priv? I like the wider screen and keyboard on Passport but sofware/longetivity-wise, Priv seemed like the better idea with Android (kinda minus that BB10 FB app is no more).

  • I was skeptical of getting it coming from a Sony Z3+, but This is Hands Down One of the best phones i have ever Owned. If setup properly this phone is King of the Hill. Highly recommend this phone to anyone. Some advice : disable the hub & install battery doctor. This phone really impressed me.

  • i am using PRIV amazing and very interesting phone really. love you blackberry to introduce such as phone. meanly very interesting blackberry Hub with Android ammmmmazing.

  • It's 2017 and I bought the Priv(STV100-4) to go alongside my S8 Plus. At first it seems weird to ever consider buying a BlackBerry in 2017 but wow I am impressed by Priv except for the tiny keyboard buttons.dont get me wrong I have big thumbs lol. Owh wait did I mention the speaker is amazingly loud... Owh wait did I mention the gestures?hahahaha.

  • Made in Mexico

  • as long as you want it 2 ;)

  • I want to ask abt black berry prive.....what is deffernce quality standard made in china, maxico, canada???

  • Hoe long does ur battery last?is it mix used? Thanks

  • android n 7.1.0391954917 when?>

  • Hi, I have a question regarding mobile device BlackBerry priv, what is the difference region different on this phone? There are rumors that some updates and some features are not possible and rumor has it that the build quality is different? Are these rumors true? Please advise accurate and transparent. Thank you

  • hi does this device get upgraded to 7.1 Naughat and how is the performance being hexa core

  • download from Google Play, Blackberry Content Transfer app. it will make your file and data transfer hassle-free.

  • Love my priv awesome phone snappy even with modern games, amazing screen and good battery life plus a slide keyboard I couldn't ask for more very happy

  • They loaned me a Priv and I thought thats far too big but the more I used it the more I liked it. I hardly use my laptop now. But transferring from first Priv to next Priv was a nightmare! Where is all my data and how do I get it back?? A shocking and fundamental BB or Android mistake, serious and appalling, everyone needs to transfer their data to the new phone, it should be easy ,not torture.

  • It's just a wow phone. The best so far by BB. Hope that we get it upgrade from Marshmello. to 7.

  • How do I get the marshmallow to install. I just got my second replacement in 8 months i really like it but has hiccups wouldn't charge, but it get hot over heating and those who have installed the marshmallow seem to avoid that Advice thank you

  • priv is good yes

  • Update needed. My microSD currently has a 64 GB card and I have full access. I believe the phone is already mapped for up to 2TB when available in the future.

  • Yes u can

  • CAN the blackberry priv be upgraded to marshmallow in India too ???

  • how did you sort out ???

  • Hi, I'm looking at buying the BlackBerry priv but only hindrance is overheating issue. How did you address it?

  • have you updated your OS? because I noticed that was an issue before. its either that or you need to have it replaced by the manufacturer. I experienced the same thing but after being provided a replacement, everything was perfect. it would help to buy a fast charger by the way. my phone charges from 15% to 100 in 1hr 40 mins.

  • You said your priv drains fast. Is it mixed used (calls, texts, music etc? Or pure browsing (data usage)?

  • It's is a nice phone isn't it? If yours gets too hot battery have it replaced. Mine was like that out of the box, they replaced it and now it's just like any normal phone

  • Yes it does but you have to buy it separately.

  • You probably dont have a fast charger, i bought one seperately and mine charges from fully drained to 100 in 1hr and 40 mins. You also need to change the settings of your phone, so it doesnt drain your battery too much. Coming from a samsung s7 though, id say that S7 does have better battery life and its snappier but it still doesnt beat the magnificent design of bb priv. No regrets on buying this one.

  • Dear.. As I m using priv from last 10 days .. I found it not a good battery phone.either company claims 3400 mah battery but its drain fast in 4/5hour n took a long period to charge of 3 hours!!! But only looks is graeat

  • It's a great device, I've been using it for about 6 months now. It had a few hiccups (like overheating and battery problems) but it's all sorted. I definitely recommend it.

  • I am using an S7 now but wanting to buy this priv. S7 is superb when it comes to its features. Ive heard about some negatve about this priv but I really love blackberry. I I used to have a passport but had a hard time using some apps (wish it was android) i love the keyone but it only has a midrange specs and im sure will be expensive than priv. Is it really worth it changing from s7 to priv?

  • Does it supports fast charger r turbo charge.

  • The camera is shit, but performance wise? Its a beast.

  • Changing my phone was completely worth it, i bought my priv brand new for like 320usd. Id say totally worth it, holding the phone gives off the impression that you got your moneys worth. Just be patient with it at the start, specially at initial set up, from my experience it lagged but after all the updates and upgrade to marshmallow 6.0.1 it was fast and never crashed, the battery is not as good as the s7 though, i mostly use it for web surfing and games and it only last for like 8-9 hrs before reaching20%, s7 last for 10-12 hrs before it reaches 20%. Its quick charge though so im good.

  • To be honest not that slow for daily usage. Im using it from 3 months. Though it gets hot when multitasking moreover when browsing. For apps crashing haven't seen that issue at all till now. Camera is subpar that's true. But overall it's nice phone can't deny it.

  • Maybe the problem is with you and how you use the phone. I've played with one plus 3, i've owned an lg g flex 2 with more powerfull SD 810 and before that i've used cyanogenmod 11 to 14.1, which belive me, can get faster than anything with android on it on much lower specs than the priv. PRIV is not that slow. Mine opens apps (not games, games load significantly slower) as fast as or sometimes 0.5 of a second faster or slower than other flagships (i actually compared it with an S7). The only problem that i see with it is the slow read/write speeds. Again you should upgrade to 6.0.1 if you haven't already or you should go to the doctor and check if you are ok. Maybe you have something in your system that doesn't let you to properly use a phone. Just my honest opinion!

  • Have priv for 5months or so.. Bought it as price was low and I like how it looks..I love how it looks..but.. What a disaster phone spec wise, its not slow, its a snail lol.. honestly slowest phone I ever used by mile.. everything lags, crashes, one day this other day that, doesn't work this, doesn't work that lol. keeping as my work phone as I barely use it, no way it could be my day to day use phone, I probably end up killing my self lol.. Don't even ask about battery as its just embarrassing...... Wtf blackberry was thinking, my brains can't understand... Atleast few years behind spec wise. 9 points for how it looks, -10000000 points for everything else! To describe it in a few words- cheap dog shitt! If anyone saying its a good phone, then you should go and see a doctor, as I'm concerned about your health lol Just my honest opinion!

  • Just got my bb priv, it was slow af out of the box. Then I experienced the "saved" wifi network issue after the marshmallow update. After restarting my fiber optics box, it started working again and it is a magnificent beast. Im telling you its hella fast, i transfered from a samsung s7 cause it keeps disconnecting from any wifi signal, Stating "connected, no internet" and this thing was on sale. Its a beast, its not at par with the snappiness of s7 though, id say its equal to a 6month old iphone 6s performance wise. Its fast and doesnt lag. The battery doesnt last as long as s7,which is a nother bad point but i like its solid build quality and style. Its fast charging anyway so im good with it

  • yes it does

  • try to reinstall marshmallow, android 7 is in BETA testing right now for PRIV, I have had mine for 2 months straight and no problems whats so ever.

  • I got mine a few days ago, because it was dirt cheap (as used). The phone constantly overheats just by browsing the web or _____ (insert anything regarding using the phone). The battery drains fast. I don't know what the other people smoking, but it took me forever to type a response on facebook with the physical keyboard. The on-screen keyboard isn't the best either. Compared to swiftkey keyboard app, it's worse. There seems to be a software issue going on, because the cleaner program I have running frees up 1GB of RAM every 3 hours, even though i have disabled most apps and now the phone is no better than a texting/calling phone with hardly any "smart" to it. Even if it has 3GB of RAM, it feels like it only has 512MB for some reason. The cleaner app reports, that 85% of that RAM is constantly being utilized and no matter how many apps I disable, the utilization barely drops. If you ask me, it's a serious memory leak issue, probably the buggy OS. Android is buggy on its own, Blackberry touching it didn't help much. I had phones with 1GB and cost 100 bucks brand new (search amazon for cheap androids) and performed better than this phone. The camera is not bad, but neither good. You can get a better camera on another phone in this price range (as of right now $200-300 range). Here is my final word: If you don't care about physical keyboards, look elsewhere, this is not worth it. If you care about physical keyboards, look elsewhere, possibly wait for the Keyone or wait longer for something else, because older BB models with their OS are lacking with app support and even BB is abandoning support for them.

  • there is no official declaration yet, rather they are releasing new model key one with android7.1

  • it happened to me several times, try changing USB port of your PC.

  • I will rather use android with Samsung.I go for class what is it with blackberry and android????

  • still no connection. also tried different usb cable but nothing happens. also do the debugging still the same problem. dont know what to do

  • Are you still having this problem? Can you try restarting your BlackBerry PRIV by holding down the power button for 32 seconds? Also restart your computer. Once both devices have restarted, please attempt to connect the PRIV again. Once a notification comes up on the PRIV saying that a connection was established, make sure to tap on it and change it to Transfer Files. Wait for a bit and see if your computer now detects it as a USB. Let me know if this works!

  • guys help. last week i connected my priv to my pc and transfer all my photos and music. everything was fine then suddenly an hour ago, i tried to connect my priv to pc and it doesnt recognize at all. as if it on charging mode. i tried file transfer (mtp), phot transfer (ptp) and MIDI nothing happens. and also did the factory reset and still nothing. pls help

  • yes its support otg

  • Preach fahm! :)

  • Front camera.....unless you are by a lamp the image quality is horrible.....but the priv is a fantastic device....the front camera is the only major flaw:)

  • Can you please tell me about its front camera performance in low light does it still clear?

  • does blackberry priv support usb OTG ??

  • Guys is dtek 60 a better option than priv kindly suggest I wanna buy priv is it a good choice

  • Can I buy priv and is worth the buy now

  • Soon it's going update to nougat

  • The front camera performs good in good light...it's 2mp but better than many 2mp cameras out there...also both cameras are getting better with every update...I really love priv and BlackBerry's support...just noticed heat issue after playing half and our but it cools down so fast...and I must mention that the physical keyboard is fantastic...hope i helped :)

  • Hi. can anyone tell me is the overheating problem is a big issue or not ? i mean does it solve after updates ?

  • I have this smartphone and i just can't say perfect ... i don't have any problem with secondary Camera because i did not use it . but for some people that dont like to have big smartphone i can not suggest it .

  • Hi, guys i wanna buy this phone, can anyone tell me about the overheating problem of priv ? is that really bad ? is this issue solved after the updates ?

  • Really impressed.

  • BeSt Phone Ever.. Still perform Better compared with my other phone (samsung), Gets Security update every month.. I just hope its OS will be upgraded to Nougat. Been a Priv User for more than a year and still gives me topnotch performance... not to mention the security it provides knowing all my personal data are safe.... Fantastic Camera and to tell you all the truth Still looks good new with premium built quality.. Love it.

  • I want to buy this phone but im thinking about the front camera and its performance ! Can you guys tell me your experince about the front camera. Its is ok on night ?

  • Preferred Priv but Keyone...

  • Can you tell about your experience with this phone?

  • This is such a great phone, i received it on Monday and i have been using it since then, i replaced my iphone 6 with this amazing phone, everything is great about this phone, the battery lasts a long time, it has a nice keyboard (i have really big thumbs, typing on this is incredible) The camera is amazing, just go into the settings and set it to 4K and it make's the pictures look better too. BlackBerry issues monthly updates for this phone like security updates and app updates (calander, contacts, camera, BB Hub, BBM) all these apps get updates very regularly in the app store, Nougat is planned for this device and it will come because this phone runs incredibly on Android 6.

  • Does Priv going to get Nougat update?

  • Is it LTE? Is it hard to handle

  • Depends on what you are looking for in a phone for me personally I love the fact that you can choose to use a sd card as either internal memory or as external. Then also the added benefit of a keyboard to eliminate any predictive text problems. I have had an S7 and Note 5 but sorry I missed my BlackBerry. Sent on my PRIV

  • You say "very poor quality finishes" i know exactly why you say that but i tend too disagree. This phone has in my opinion the best quality materials that i've seen in a while. After 2 months of using it there is no scratch on it and looks exactly like new and besides the slider mechanism "issue" ( which luckly got much better after i dropped my phone a few days ago) the phone has no flaws hardware wise. The software part could be much improved though. Still laggy and buggy. I tried BB10. no lag, no crash, no freez you say? the no lag part might be actually true (most of the time anyway). But my gf's q10 crashes and freezes like nothing else i've ever seen.

  • Android and Safety are two words that do not belong in the same sentence. Blackberry Priv is a total fiasco partly through it's price and partly to it's very poor quality finishes. For BlackBerry, the Priv was a failed experiment, a mobile phone hastily made and thrown into the market, when the BlackBerry was one foot in the grave, hoping they will be able to save something. BlackBerry Passport is an emblematic terminal for BlackBerry brand and it is miles away from any Priv or Android device. BB10 0S is the ultimate mobile operating system PERIOD. No lag, no crush, no freeze, no malware vulnerability.

  • BB priv is the best phone till now. Because is the safer android phone. And the keybord is supperb

  • Priv Battery life is excellent. Heating issue gone when 2g cell network connection turned off.

  • I wanna buy a BB Priv , but worried about the battery life. any suggestions for this ??? what about the heat problem, how is it going on marshmallow

  • Hi there, I have owned the Priv since it first came out, and me personally disagree with what a lot of these tech websites say about it. For me it has never struggled, like slowing down or freezing and crashing and I work my phones pretty hard. Again my opinion the camera has been excellent from the start, however, fair play to Blackberry software updates have been coming thick and fast, and are still coming. With every update the phone has improved nd keeps on getting better. I would personally recommend it to anyone, the most under rated phone ever.

  • For looks yh for usage no

  • Lol. Not all iPhone 7 Plus are like that. Bought it. Used it. Sold it.

  • Hie! Guys I am thinking to buy BB PRIV can you guys advice me Should i buy this phone?

  • Priv is the best phone. After upgrading to marshmallow it has become more fast. Priv is made in Mexico and all other handsets including samsung and apple all r assembled in China. Build quality of Priv is superb than any other handsets in market. Go for it. U want repent

  • Have you upgraded it to Marshmallow? I've heard that resolved the heating issues for a lot of users. I've also heard that the Facebook app can cause overheating.

  • Don't do it.

  • Hey guys. Need your opinion about priv. I have an iphone 6s and now want to change it with a BB priv. Can you tell me do it or not?? Thank you

  • Bought a Priv on Amazon from Mastertronics, same day the phones heats up, used it for a few days and it keeps happening, i send it back, they said they checked it but it was fine, and thats why they charged me 20% restocking fee, so if its fine why do you need to restock? Also i posted a review on Amazon but it got deleted, so dont trust their rating, since they delete the bad ones anyway. I guess they didnt delete the one i put on facebook, because its still there. But other than that, the phone on itself is amazing, too bad i got a defect one because i loved it so much. The design - not too big - touch & keyboard Camera - makes amazing pictures Can log in with your gmail and all your information syncs (i had a samsung before) I bought an Iphone now and you can sync your data at all from Android to Iphone is a pain in the ass... Battery life - good except it heats up and dies

  • iMO ,Tango is not working on classic

  • I have been using Priv since October, I haven't got any problems and it's so striking to people, I get to feel like I'm driving the latest Merc when I'm around people using it. I was a big BlackBerry OS10 fan but yeah the Android 6 upgrade is as smooth if not better. The battery life is exquisite. The camera is marvelous. The only thing I hate is the fact that you can only play music on "Play Music" of which you can't use shortcuts anymore as we could on all previous blackberry's. The hardware keyboard feature always makes people go crazy when I flaunt with it lol but can't deny the fact that the buttons arent as smooth. It's an elegant phone in a nutshell.

  • Mainly i used the phone for music, call and text. And sometimes fb and fb chat. I have an ipad so why would i play a games on a small screen on my iphone. Then why would i play youtube or online stuff when there's a laptop? So obviously i am not a heavy user that's whay my iphone last that long.

  • is it posible for supporting otg?

  • U have to update or download your whatsapp its wrking smooth on my Q10

  • I have been using Xperia Pro MK16 for the last 4.5 years. Now, I think it is finally giving out. So, I need a new keyboard phone. I can't see any other option beside BB Priv. Do you think it can do the job?

  • haha no wonder it lasts 3 days, what happens when you use the highly advertised number of apps available =P

  • try iphone first before commenting. you may right about what you said but not all iphone suddenly died when the battery is 30%. i have an iphone 6s and im using it for call, text and sometimes facebook and ista and it goes 3 days without charging but in most cases it last for 2 days. even do it reach my battery at 30% it still usable

  • Lmao IOS 10 doesnt lag.but kills your iphone with 30% battery left hahahaha.

  • really the Android 6.01 often laggs?

  • I changed iphone 6 128gb to BlackBerry priv. The Main difference bettwen there Phones is The system... Android 6.0.1 often laggs. On iphone i had had ios 8.3. Quality of iphone system was awesome in comparence to android. It was my big mistake That i have change iphone to BlackBerry. There was 1gb ram but i could running on 10 or more sposób. Now while i was running two apps (snapchat and Messenger), Phone was lagged. The biggest adventage of BlackBerry is fast charging and incredible camera. There are just only adventage. I regret That i have changed iphone.

  • I was sent a software upgrade to BlackBerry 10.3.3.1463 for my 3+ year old Q10 phone. Since then I experienced better screen responsiveness and it feels like a new phone. This will bridge the gap quite well until the Mercury come out, which will be my choice of next phone. I just wished it would be also available with BlackBerry software.

  • Please choose the IP. I'm not a big fan of Apple, but I get tired of the priv. Many people out there and I have experienced many troubles from the hardware itself. It can be so hot for no reason, the screen starts to lag out within 30 min of playing game, and the battery drains really fast. They don't include the charger in the box. I got it charged fastest with the samsung charger. This is my first bb phone, and I won't buy any phone from them anymore. Just my opinion, you can research for more, GL

  • guy's need ur suggestion. Which is better! Iphone 6s or Blackberry Priv?????

  • not anymore, i have Q10 running IOS 10.1, and now whatsapp gave a message that it no longer supports it, though it was running till the last week.

  • Priv is better but the worrying fact would be that you will not get any updates happening anytime soon.

  • Had the same issue with the battery

  • go for xperia x. priv on the other hand is style quotient. for ur daily dirver xperia x will be great . if u find good deal for Z5 go for it.

  • Anyone facing battery drain issues after recent security update... seems i'm having the issue need to charge my priv thrice in a day.. weird :-(

  • You have both xperia x and priv? Im torn between the two. Which is better in you opinion? Thankz!

  • Priv is supported whatsapp

  • I am totally confused that how can I understand that new box pack is orignal . Plz guide me Shakeel Pakistan

  • Thanks . I have now sold Priv because of size I cannot handle it. There is nothing wrong with it and excellent smartphone. Will wait to see what dimensions Dtek70 is hope it is smaller.

  • I just got this phone. I`m happy as I can be. The physical keyboard is something I was missing for a long time! Well done, BlackBerry! The only problem was the support. It fell on the ground, cracked the screen and absolutely NO shop fix this. And since my operator does not give a damn about its costumers, I`ll buy a new one. And I`m thinking on buying it again, so happy I am.

  • Re-start your Priv once in a while it will kill all those apps running in the background

  • Z5 premium anytime. Using BlackBerry priv for month now it's nice device but camera is subpar front cam is same as vga. slider becomes loose and during onscreen typing u can hear a noise of tapping. Gets hot during browsing and continuous chat. Being a Sony user for many years I really miss my xperia.

  • will d priv get 7.0 in coming days

  • Hi any experiencing overheating

  • Thanks for your presence & valuable feedback

  • Hi i just want to know how to update the phone to marshmallow and pls let me know if there is a notification that blinks continuaslly which was in earlier blackberry phones

  • Just checked for update and one was available, it was 5th January security update . My Sony Z5C still on November.

  • I had so much trouble getting Priv to recognise sd card but after a Google search you download this app from Playstore called "MicrosoftexFAT for Blackberry" and that's it done. It is also good to back with AMOLED screen and using keypad to scroll up and down it good idea.

  • The only thing I can say is the new Blackberry is due soon so go for Priv if you get it at good price. I bought one yesterday second hand for 255 GBP here in UK. It is a solid device quite heavy and still getting used to it. I have a Z5 compact so probably feels so much bigger. The Priv is a lot more professional you can tell with security and real keypad and communication skills with hub etc it is business like device but multimedia good.. Audio is superb through headphones and speaker pretty good. That is all I can say after 1 day and Z5 compact is Z5 just smaller. I think you just get another Android with Z5 whereas with Priv you get more stuff, more security and real keyboard that lights up so cool.

  • Any body can tells me that .... whether should i go for Priv or Sony Z5 Premium ????

  • yes thats supported

  • Does anyone have a definitive answer on the usb otg capability of this phone?

  • Pls I need help urgently. I love my priv but am have the "no service" issue. I have updated my phone to the recent version, I have tried to restart the phone more than 20x but still having the same issue. Pls I need help urgently. I have tried everything possible, what is left now is to factory reset my phone.

  • Are U statisfied with the camera...??

  • Update it to marshmallow then update all of the apps after that make a reboot.

  • After more than one year of using my priv here is the pros amd cons ... Pros... 1-Great materials 2-You rarely see this phone which makes it special . 3-The physical keyboard 4-The design , it does not feel cheap like most of android phones . 5-The security from Blackberry . Cons... 1-The battery is not that good but the charging is fast . 2-I had problems with the software many times and overheating for no reason .

  • Yes it has :-)

  • Recently I bought blackberry priv , I m big fan of blackberry , but I have some heading problem with my new phone while start the Internet, could you guys please update some tips to solve this issue

  • got problem with my BB Priv... any suggested outlet to repair by Priv???

  • Not secure enough? Try and root it if you can. LOL

  • because of screen...it is thin in its lower body ..mean keyboard and screen r seperate

  • Hard restart it

  • Love it brill also scroll up and down by the keyboard it's self ! Just found that out amazing! Does get warm now and again but great phone :)! Thanks blackberry!

  • Excellent phone. I am fan of Blackberry. Nice looking phone.

  • does this phone have a sd card slot

  • Just want to know does blackberry have a service centre .as was planning to buy a blackberry

  • Hi, my Priv has heating problem after upgrading from lollipop to marshmallow. Please help to solve. Thank you.

  • Copy the ringtone to the phone's memory then it won't change back

  • After many years I decided to go back to blackberry after reading the priv reviews. I am not disappointed. Great phone with all the android functions and the blackberry ease of use I have missed. Sure it's not perfect but neither were my Samsung galaxy s7 edge or my Sony Xperia x. I wish more people would try it.

  • Visited the nearby shop to buy something. Anyway I noticed the Priv. Taken a demo. Build quality is very responsive. The back feels really good. Also the screen is colorful. It was fast and responsive, means programs are opening fast and hoping between tasks is really easy. No lag. Last but not least the Keyboard is really really awesome. Typing is really breeze. Overall love the device. Passport looks too big, but Priv is looks beautiful and feels awesome.

  • Anyone have issue setting BBM Voice and BBM Voice 1 as phone ringtone? The ringtone will become 'unknown ringtone' after few minutes I set that. How to solve??

  • Love the keyboard! But as far as the rest of the phone is concerned IT STINKS!!!! Constantly overheats. I am so disappointed!

  • it great phone, even up to in 2016 it still a great phones, every where i go this phones turns heads. love it, thought i do not think that this is the most secure phone in the world but we thank blackberry for trying. I still use it an we want from blackberry a Priv 2, not that Alcatel look alike phone. We want a better improved version of the Priv. And also the front facing camera is a JOKE!

  • What would you use this phone 📱?

  • If you are looking to put custom ringtone download lark player.

  • the bluetooth connection is weird..without an active call or listening to music the phone keeps on dropping bluetooth wireless handsfree headset connections..

  • Although i use, touch screens i cant live without a Blackberry phone. I am a big fan of the physical keyboard which helps me alot with my emails, yesting and whatsapp. Sadly, they have decided to discontinue the old phones so now i needed to get the priv which i will do in couple of days.

  • Uncheck the adoptive brightness in the settings

  • phone is nice, unfortunately idea of using it`s software is crap. Why I can not longer apply a sound to text message (so i will know who text me without looking at the screen?) or uploading my own ringtones ? and not be able to find them on my phone or use individual ringtone to one person? This phone does not like mp3 to use as a ring tone. WHY ??? Supposed to be better and easier to use but it`s not. I do love (or as i should say) used to love BB. Not this time. No wonder they going to stop produce them

  • Just got a priv.. atfirst got problems with it heating prob. But after an update and a factory reset the heating is gone.. Lov this fon..

  • Uncheck the adoptive brightness in the settings

  • This phone screen back ground is too dim compared to my previous galaxy s6. Is this a common problem?

  • I have had a lot of phones for Business and personal, the Priv. is by far the best phone I have had. It is about time everyone stopped being sheep and only follow the big two manufacturers and looked at what is really available out there.

  • BlackBerry to shut down phone business,, Very bad news for everyone :'(

  • I use whatsapp on it with no issues

  • Great phone, But too bulky and heavy hard to put into pocket, same phone in much smaller size would be a killer. also if it would take 2 sim cards.

  • one of the best cellphone design ive ever seen just missed the finger print scanner or it would have been the best

  • The Priv's is just 2 MP and not sharp in low light. Daylight pictures are good, but not great.

  • Just checked this myself - the answer is yes: Android OS 2.3 and above are supported. Priv is Android OS 5.1.1

  • I do not understand some of the reviews complaining about this phone. Having owned various iPhones and Samsung Galaxy series, this phone is without a doubt the best of the bunch. The Android OS looks beautiful on the Priv's screen, the multi function abilities of the keyboard and gesture make it a breeze to write emails and send messages - using my wifes iPhone 6 I feel handicapped and stumble around sending messages. I am buying a second Priv after owning the first for a year just because I foolishly paid for the device protection plan with my mobile carrier. Yes, the newer S7 and other flagship phones may be slightly better, but they are a year newer and do not have a physical sliding keyboard. I still get compliments on the Priv to this day. The battery lasts a full day, and the screen is a beauty to work with. The extra layers of security that BB provides to the phone makes updates a bit later than other android phones, but that's the price of protecting your info in this digital age. For all who may be debating the Priv for various spec reasons, I assure you, they are trivial. Do your research, go to a store and pick up the phone and feel the keyboard, you will not be disappointed by this device.

  • The front camera may not be the greatest. It works well with facetime and whats app and Skype, however certain lighting can give you a queer halo effect. My wife's iphone 6 does seem to have the same issue; I don't know about the S7's quality. I don't think this should be a deciding factor in your prohibition to purchase however - they keyboard and the beauty of the phone stands out.

  • Front camera is average. But you can download some third party camera applications.

  • i wants to buy the phone cell phone, can any one give me someinformation abt the performace abt it.......

  • you srsly kidding or not...

  • Bought this phone 2 days ago, and it turns heads more than anything else Battery life is ok, I can last a day full of facebook and games Keyboard needs getting used to, but it's good The earphones provided is super nice Accessories will be harder to find though

  • support WhatsApp or not?

  • Can you tell me about the front camera... I am a huge fan of blackberry always saw them in my dads hand.. Got my self the z10 back in late 2013 still have. Now I want to buy the priv..only thing thats stopping me that front camera quality...can you tell me how's the front camera 📷 comapred to moto g4 or other sub 300-400$ phones(not the flagships like gs7.lg g5 etc) Thank you

  • help.... i accidentally dropped my bb priv. i purchased a defective unit that has a battery issue( but 100% working) to use it's screen. but when the phone technician wxchange the screen, both digitizer are not working, nonrespose at all. but when we return it back to each original body, each phone are working... i tried ito do it as well but, same behavior happened.. Is there any compatibility issues in terms of hardware replacement?

  • then get a bb torch

  • Hi there, Is there any compatibility issues regarding the hardware replacement? i accidentally dropped my priv and the screen cracked .i really love this priv that instead of buying another phone, i decided to purchase a defective privv( battery issue) just to take the screen as a replacement . but when the phone technician exchange the screen. both digitizer are not working. but when he return it back the screen to each original body, these 2 units are functioning well (digitizer) . any idea anyone?

  • I love blackberry priv, I am using iphone 6s plus and priv handset. but i rely more in priv. But i accidentally dropped it. now it has a cracked screen. what ive done is to purchase a faulty priv unit(battery issue) to replace the screen. But here is d problem, when the phone technician replace the screen, the digitizer is not working. but when he put it to each original phone , all the units are working... Is there any compatibility issues with this?? any idea? i even tried i

  • I am a new Priv owner, and was not expecting a lot, based on published reviews. I have to say the phone is fantastic, including its 18 M pixel camera. The manual mode and Optical Image Stabilisation allows to take super shots that are SLR-like. You can fix ISO, speed, white balance, and focus. The video recording can go as high as 4K. The swipe keyboard gestures are really good, both on the physical keyboard and on-screen. Battery capacity allows a full day of use. There are so many misleading reviews out there, try the phone if you haven't. (+) Plus: Camera, Hub, Picture password, calendar and contacts, DTEK, on-screen keyboard (multilingual), beautiful curved OLED display, excellent sound, SD card slot, wireless charging. (-) Minus: no HDMI port, no FM receiver, mono speakers.

  • check BlackBerry Passport

  • Please develop smaller, lighter, 4.5" screen with 2 sim card option like Priv or better with actual keyboard. I think will be a bombshell to the market.

  • It should comes in february or march.

  • Maybe blackberry will release a new bb with physical keyboard.

  • And? I dont think any manufacture will check every single device before it is shipped. Unpacking a box to see if the phone is damaged is not very economical. Regarding the replacement phone... dont whine until you get it... it could be new.. or not... but if a refurb grade A you probably wouldnt notice it after a day...

  • I love the physical keyboard and can't live without it, that's I love blackberry so much

  • What do you mean your confused? It's a mobile phone! You make calls on it!

  • Too bulky, heavy and clumsy.please make a smaller version and capable of handling 2 sim cards that would be a hit on the market.

  • hi guys any one know when android 7 recive to bb priv?????

  • It has completed my test at the moment. kudos.

  • This is android, all the way u go lol, don't worry

  • Strong and firm body. Mashed by car is not affected anything. U can't believed it. Wow!! I love my Priv.

  • BB devices have great battery, my device lasts me all day, using a BB Z30. Passport is even better.

  • it does support bbm calls, however just between android and Iphone devices. you cannot call from Priv to BB Classic for ex.

  • Does blackberry priv support bbm video call?

  • Please I will like to know why Blackberry devices has poorly made battery, because it doesnt last, although Blackberry priv is an exception with a great camera packed with 18 megapixel, that is why it is the and that the best blackberry product so far from RIM.

  • What's app will still run on this phone. It's an android so you get all your apps from google play store.

  • Press the power button on the left side for 32 seconds. or press the volume down and power button at the same time and then select continue to boot up by pressing the power button once.

  • I want to buy blackberry prive but I am confused so please guide me whether I shall go for it or not and will what's application will run?

  • I have blackberry q10 and like to by blackberry priv: can I transfer my data and contacts and all to blackberry priv?

  • I put my BB Priv ON this morning - and after a while = then "POWER OFF" and now I now it would go ON??? what now

  • Just bought one and its very good, updated to marshmallow version of software and working perfectly well

  • It shows how you want your recently opened apps window should be displayed. Change it and check the right end capacitive button square one.

  • What Is Recents in display?

  • Don't like smartphones, then don't buy one lol.

  • Very fragile and scrap phone

  • Even tho dropped in price still dear.may go for used device.

  • I have a Priv and i don't have any of the issues I've seen here below. Some issues are just people who don't understand the phone. The warranty is there for a reason. USE IT! Only the phone gets hot mostly when you play high end games, which is understandable. At least it doesn't explode like a certain other device..

  • The blackberry classic is about as old blackberry as you're gonna get. If you like the simplicity of the old style bold then this is the phone you want.

  • Awesome phone. Everyone envies me.

  • Both cameras are awful no quality at all

  • Which one would you recommend in 2016 priv v10 or the z5 premium

  • Great phone!

  • priv

  • Which one would you recommend in 2016 priv v10 or the z5 premium

  • Which one would you recommend in 2016 priv v10 or the z5 premium

  • Good day just unpacked my BlackBerry Priv. It's Awesome.Better than expected. Build quality smooth ness. 10/10. A top device. Iv practically owned every BlackBerry since 2010. This is the Best !!! Thumps up from me. Well done BlackBerry.

  • When did you get your last update. Which country?

  • After the last update, my handset is cooking in my hand again, and is draining my battery. This happened when I got the phone for the first time in February, but the very first update solved this issue, but its back to its worst after the last OS update. Please help!!!!

  • Hi Guys, I dont have any of the issues below, looks like faulty ones. If under warranty please replace the phones. Only issue I have is soft clicky back (and front 2 mp cam) but functionality wise its absolute brilliance till now (been more than 6 months). Try updating to Marshmallow with October patch for battery heating issue. Best option to by pass google is to use BB hub.

  • Hi I"m using Priv for a month now and its a very good phone from BB at last but for : 1. The phone gets heated up very quickly why any views? 2. I have installed MS OUTLOOK for my office work but automatically a blank message is sent to few of the phone contacts. I dont know why any views and solutions?

  • Anybody know how to bypass the Google account on this phone please

  • I have this phone for 6 months now,the phone screen got dead pixels 2 times, the phone goes overheating very easily... the encryption not different from other android phone I regret buying this phone.

  • Good for you!

  • I got this phone 2 days back only problem is with the battery have to charge twice a day i have switched off nfc, bluetooh, sync, locatio even its not on vibrator screen brightness is just nearly 20 % even stopped ok google still the battery drains without use.

  • not all that pleased with this device, can't get the volume turned up and on top of that can't cancel the 3 controls on right side of phone and everytime pickup hit button that turns off what sounds there are.

  • I bought Blackberry Priv and it came with broken camera. I am angry that they ship their product to customer without checking their device first. I called the customer rep and he said they will ship me a replacement device and I should receive the device within 1 or 2 business days but it has been almost a week. No device is sent to me no tracking number is provided for me. I did some research about Blackberry replacement phones many customer complain that they get used, refurbish phone instead of their brand new phone. I am nervous and very regret for buying Blackberry phone....

  • no it doesn't...just update your device regularly

  • What about the touch? Is it hang while you using keyboard?

  • Bit unsatisfied with camera, but honestly it doesn't bother me as I don't use much of my phone camera. Secondly the camera is not at all bad as compared to any device, but had high expectations with 18 mp.

  • go back and read your manual, do some research before slamming this phone and making yourself look dumb. if you type a curse word, press the plus sign that appears and add it to the dictionary; problem solved. when word suggestions appear, flick them up to use them, don't just keep typing. etc etc etc

  • I have had nothing but BlackBerry since day one and this may be the worst phone I've ever had. It reminds me of the issues I had with the first - which disappeared with later models! My biggest complaint: when editing any kind of message, the cursor jumps unpredictably all over the place:( I'm very sad to see a great Canadian company sag so badly:(( but the PRIV is my last BB.

  • The top two biggest problems with the PRIV, to me at least and backup by  Blackberry Tech Support. Which are issues that occur with all Blackberry Android devices. Firstly, the phone will not change while it is being used. So in order to start charging it, you have to either let it sit and not use it, which then takes several hours for the phone to charge completely. Or you can turn the phone off and charge. If you use the phone, while it is charging, it will actually lose power and eventually die. You can sometimes use certain low-power consuming apps, like Google Maps and the phone will then change, while using that app. But if you use more resource hungry apps or services, or multitask, then the phone will die. Secondly, the, what I like to call the "Nanny" feature. This is a service that exists in the Android OS, but Blackberry went crazy wuth, when they customized their own version if Android. Basically any word that Google & Blackberry find to be "Negative" words, are changed. So naturally curse words are changed and you have to keep retyping and doing other things, to keep them from being g changed. But these word changes also occur on such basic words as "Sexy". So if you text your partner and say they are looking Sexy, that word will be changed to such words as "Security" or "Such", ect. This Overly Protective Nanny, hasn't happened on any other Android device that I have ever owned. This seems to only occur with Blackberry's Auto-Correct version. Also, unlike other companies Auto-Correct,  this version NEVER learns. So let's say just say on my Samsung Galaxy S6. After I keep typing in "Sexy", the phones customized Android version,, will eventually just realize that is the correct spelling of the word that you want. But with Blackberry's Auto-Correct?  Nope! It will never, ever ever stop changing these words. Yeah, you can turn Nanny off, but that disables Auto-Correct altogether! Auto-Correct is actually a useful service. Flawed big time,  but still useful. Nanny though? NOT AT ALL USEFUL! Unless you like being treated like a third grader! Another issue with this most horribly designed phone, is the fact that it heats up constantly. I mean really heats up! To the point where I can see it easily catching on fire!  I actually have to use apps, to close out other background running apps, just to keep the phone somewhat cool. Like you can imagine, this has to be done constantly. Another poorly designed flaw built into the phone, the SIM and Memory card slots. Well the slots, have more issues then I can list here! One of the big reasons why I bought the phone, was because you are "Suppose" to be able to use a memory card, with a size of up to 2TB's, which would be awesome! The problem is, that the larger the card, the more issues you will run into with your phone. Issues like, the card coming in & out of being recognized, items/folders disappearing or the card not even being recognized at all. Sadly, on and on. Plus both the memory card and SIM card, have been designed to fit into the phone in the most accident prone way possible!  First off, you have to use a paperclip to open these slots. Secondly,  the trays are cheap and easily broken. I have been the a few myself, mainly the memory card tray. Thirdly, the way that the trays fit into the phone, sets up further problems, like breaking of the ports and/or cards. Forthly, the PRIV's card slots can basically just Junk your cards. Why? I have no idea and neither does Blackberry, but I have had cards that I formatted on my Chromebook, that I then tried to use on my PRIV and the card was Junked. I could go on about more problems that I have run into, just with the card slots, but you get the basic idea. With voice calls, the person on the other end, can not hear you at first. It takes a second or two, for them to hear you. It has also been impossible for me to make a three way call. One person always gets hung up on. It is also very difficult to add new contacts. The options where we are supposed to let you add contacts, don't work, in the way that they should. The phone also takes forever, whether on Cellular or WiFi, to upload / download pics through Text Messages. Ahh and yes, The Blackberry HUB is one of the most annoying apps that I have ever used! It is just simply Spyware, but I can't turn it off! It notifies me to sign-in all of the time and it will not stop nagging me to update it! The software keyboard is so mega annoying to use! Not just because of the stupid setup of Blackberry's am Auto-Correct, but even when I don't press the (Enter) key, the phone automatically does it anyways. I am serious,  I will not even be typing,  I am just reading a Web site and this stupid phone will press Enter and cause the Web site to reload, close or cause other apps to load , etc. You will also have times, where as you are typing, the phone will start running mega slow,  then Back-Space and delete a bunch of things that you just wrote. Then it will type forward again, then closeout altogether. Also, the side toolbar on the left, gets in the way of everything! It is setup for BlackBerry services, but I end up activating it all of the time, while scrolling and such. Another issue that you will definitely run intoi, as your charging port dies. Which it most seriously will. Is that the banner that pops up when you plug the charging cable into your phone, will keep poping up and then closing. To the point, where you will have to unplug the cable to actually type. But if you keep the cable plugged in, then the Battery Screen will keep poping up, which as you know already from other Android devices,  takes over the screen and us difficult to close-out. If you unplug the cable, then you will continue to futher damage the charging port even more so. The PRIV, like I would imagine on any other Blackberry/Android devices also has a mega slow long reset/restart time. Which leads into another pathetic design flaw. The phone has NO removable battery. So while this flaw alone leads to yet another book of problems, will cause you to go through so many problems. When, not if, then phone locks up, it becomes torture to reset the phone! Look on Google to see how how to how to do it. This non-removable battery (((FlAW))) will also force the phone to become Bricked, once the battery dies! Yeah....Wow Blackberry...Such A Great Idea, To Rip People Off Further!!!! Chrome Windows are also extremely slow to load, when you have over 30 opened, but dormant. This is an issue will all android versions so far, but with Blackberry's customized version of Android, it is far worse. This version will also cause the browser to slow even further, lockup and then crash, as you go between different dormant Chrome windows. Never happened on any other of the Android phone that I have used before. But see Blackberry's version is special. It is like Blackberry read up on all of their complaints that other Android issues that people have complained about and then Blackberry specifically designed the PRIV to contain all of these issues! You also can't automatically download files to the memory card. You have to change settings and download apps, in order to transfer the content from the phones Internal memory, to the SD Card. With the Spell-Check, It doesn't let you choose a word from a list above the keyboard, like it normally is. It basically just types in whatever it wants to. You can see all of the possible spellings l, all over the keyboard, but you can't click on any of them. You actually have yo basically just keep typing I'm the letters and hope that the word will automatically type itself in. A fact that is both annoying and no where near ads effective. With this problem, you have to Back-Space, in order to correctly add the words that you really wanted in the first place. You will figure out what I am swying, if you get stuck with this hunk of trash, but I guarantee that you will see why this way off doing things, like Blackberry wants you to do them, will bother you he you'd belief like it has for me. I honestly could go on for 100 more pages, but you should get the idea. Please message me if you can and I will try and help you in anyway that I can. (((WARNING))) If you bought this phone, like me, with high hopes and are now stuck with it. (((PLEASE DO NOT))) try and get help on Blackberry's Help Forum! It is full of useless, rude, Mindless Drones and Trolls! People who will do things like, bash you or make it out to seem like the issues that you are facing, don't exist. Even when Blackberry themselves have admitted that many of the issues that you are facing, are 100% Known Issues! FACTS! The people on that site, will go out if their ways to offend and not make any type if attempt to help! I hope that I have helped you avoid a $700+ mistake!!!

  • What about camera performance and result both primary as well as secondary?

  • Just switched from iPhone to Priv. The amazing BlackBerry is back. Yes, it doesn't match marketing of apple or samsung. But trust its every penny worth. Much better battery, much better interface.

  • Optus does a good deal. Go for it.

  • according to the BlackBerry website this phone takes nano sim not micro sim

  • I upgraded from my BlackBerry Z3 (BB10) to the Priv. I was so impressed with the productivity of BB10 OS that I didn't feel like upgrading to any other phone.. The network kept asking what my next phone will be so I chose the Priv after reading reviews and watching videos about it. At first I wanted to throw the phone against a wall because it just wanted to eat all my data and update my OS without my consent (which is typical for Android). Where BB10 software is preloaded and eg. Media player can play everything but you must download a player on the Priv like VLC player. BB10 also gives you more control and you data don't just disappear. 99% of people who talk crap about BB10 OS never really checked it out. All the Android users are just hypnotised by thinking Android is better without checking out other OS systems. I asked other Android users on how to set background restrictions on certain Apps one by one. Then only I could start living with the Priv. The hub is not integrated but just another app which you can access via icon or shortcuts. Battery, camera and processor is very good. Don't know why people say the phone is expensive but S7 is the same price and it looks the same as other Samsung phones. Blackberry had to change from BB10 OS to Android because a lot of idiots wanted more apps from the Android store. Why do you also need to change your phone to Android just for 1 Whatsapp app? BBM was made by BlackBerry and you can still continue on that and BB10 support some of the Android apps. My wife is using my Z3. She used C share app to transfer Whatsapp from another Android phone to test and it works.. With Android the government/illuminati can spy better on us all, have more control and gather easier information about what we do. That is why we have to update so much and the phones eat so much data but it still look the same after the updates

  • Not happy with my Blackberry Priv. I am used to the simplicity of the old Blackberrys. Have had problems with the screen touch feature. Today, the screen completely locked up on me. I couldn't answer incoming calls, texts or messages. I don't like Smartphones and the Priv reminds me too much of a Smartphone. I hope Blackberry will soon make something similar to the old ones

  • Hi i also have the priv ,please can you tell about the micro sd maximum capacity : is it 200 gb or 256 gb as written by gsmarena ??? Thanks

  • Well they stop investing in R&D for hardware only, they are still coming out new phones but using Alcatel as their hardware manufacturer while Blackberry remains as the software developer. The new phones will be under Blackberry of course...

  • I bought the priv 2 weeks ago and I love it . Nothing beats it in design and manufacture the keyboard experience is wonderful . Spec wise its good but the only problem for me is screen on time is not great .

  • I would like to change from a Q10 to the Priv, but I am wondering if anyone can tell me if the Priv allows the text conversations to be copied in full as for the bbm ones and email them to oneself (showing participants and times of message) for future reference or record of the conversation?

  • Great design. We are happy for such smartphones with qwerty keypad.

  • The have decided to exit my friend and it officially declared by BB.

  • I have the same issues with Android 5.1.1, but when it update to Marshmallow 6.0, everything changes. Stay with this phone, it is awesome.

  • Please have a look at this link

  • Hi there, I just got blackberry priv from ebay.com (not ebay.com.au) with sales price at US$299.99 + US$30 (shipping fee). But it is the STV100-1 version from AT&T. Totally unlocked, but not work with all LTE band in Australia. I am using Vodafone so it is OK. STV100-1 also support wireless charging. In Australia, it is STV100-3 version.

  • try www.verizon.com or www.amazon.com or www.ebay.com

  • About battery time: This depends very much on how you use your phone. I am using it mostly for calls, SMS, E-mails, notepad, a little net browsing (FireFox) and with that I get about 5 hours SOT (Screen On Time). If I dont use it much, stand by time can get pretty good - one week easily (with about 1 or 2 SOT). Here is little tip for extending your battery life a little: Apps that you use most, choose dark theme (preferably black) since screen is OLED and it will benefit from it. Keep in mind that if you install apps that run in background you might decrease your battery life significantly. CPU seems bit slower comparing to competitors for that price tag, but overall I think that is the best phone. I am using a lot physical keyboard and it is good (tho it could be improved). Only thing I am really missing is stand by screen (to show clock and some indicators when phone goes in standby/sleep).

  • Don't think they will exit the smartphone business, Blackberry CEO John Chen said there will be 2 phones by February 2017...Dtek 50 was one of them and the rumoured Dtek 60 could be release at the start of 2017 or later. Another point why i can't see them exiting is because their Dtek 50 was quite well received by major corporate companies as it's cheap and reliable. Reason why the Priv didn't do so well like iPhone 6S or the S7 is not because of the hefty pricing of the Priv, but rather Blackberry didn't invest much on marketing unlike Apple and Samsung

  • Not really sure about how much screen time because i didn't really measured it but on a normal usage let's say 7am to 7pm when i'm out studying, i still left with 25% to 30% of battery life left from a full charge the night before

  • Hello everyone, I'm interested in buying the Blackberry Priv. But I have no idea where to buy it here in Australia and even online. Any suggestions? Thanks.

  • This phone is the most useful phone ever the phone just overheats no matter all updates are done.

  • Dear All, Kindly I bought BB priv ( AT&T) in Egypt last week and till now I can not update it to android 6 . Pls your help . Many Thanx.

  • Hello, do you have an idea what will happen if blackberry exited the smartphone markets as rumors say? By 28 Sep 2016? Other than that, I feel the phone combine the security of blackberry and the smoothness of a stock Android. What do you think

  • Plz tell me howz the phone. Is it broad enuf like lg phones? I'm planning to buy. Is it worth buying?

  • is 350$ is correct ? I m also fan of BB used 9900,curve,z10,z30 now where can I get this price ?

  • Hi! I have plan to buy bb priv at earliest but before i need ur feedback about battery life after marshmallow update. What is the average screen on time you are getting in general? Plz reply to help me in making my decision quickly. Thanks in advance.

  • I've been using the Priv and the battery has no issues, not even overheating issues. In fact after the Android 6.0 Marshmellow update, this phone performs very smoothly without any overheating. Blackberry promises to update their system every month and really stick to their promise. Every month you will receive security updates or system updates that optimizes your phone to perform better. No issues with android apps. All performs smoothly except loading of apps will be slower than other brands due to the encryption of data on Blackberry phones but a little slower loading of apps isn't an issue, just be patient

  • Hey everyone, I just bought my PRIV STV100-1 over at Amazon.com for only $349.99! See here:

  • Hey Friends..i am seeking to buy this phone still confused for battery issues and android app working please suggest is it good or not please comment ur opinion??

  • Go to Diagnostics in your setting and deselect that. It will limit your data draw substantially. Also follow the instructions below. It seems you are updating your apps whenever.

  • Go over in your APP Setting section and select ALL. It seems there is a lots of garbage installed from third party, especially AMZN. That is on mine at Verizon Wireless USA. Look at the image below. Go over all the apps, you do not need or deemed not essential to your use. Deselect first the marker "Show Notifications" (below the Force stop) 1. Click on the Force stop button for those apps you dont like to be running. (they will still be in your listings, just out of memory) 2. Click Disable to those you dont need. It will uninstall some and put some to sleep. Heating problem solved. Those apps I have in my memory. Phone runs hot on some tasks as continues map, video and some big downloads, but it cools quickly once you turn those off. Also once you are done with the phone, click on the square button below and clear all the log. It clears the memory. It seems Snapdragon 808 is throttling with many files in the memory. Also, go to the settings select More and tap on Cellular Networks/Preferred network type, select only those who are supported by your current wireless provider. Avoid using Global.

  • Pls how did u solve the heating issue cos it's really giving me concern I love the phone it's got s great feel but the heating issue and battery consumption is a discouragement

  • Recently bought the priv, and I'm really not happy with the data usage. it chows data like no body's business. can someone please help me on how to resolve this very disturbing issue........

  • U hav a Faulty phone. If u have warranty u can replace it, explain it to the seller. I don't find ur point in posting it here. For me with 4G and GPS usage it comes 12 hrs. That's v good.

  • Have always been a BB fan, now I bought the Priv and find it worthless. Battery running out in half a day without bluetooth, wifi or 4G on. Phone heating up all the time. Wish I spent my money another phone. That was my last BB!!

  • If your Phone is an At&T unlocked try this link: How to install Android Marshmallow on your AT&T branded Priv when not using an AT&T SIM

  • This has been my daily driver for the entire year, I love the software. I love how blackberry has made the priv more and more like bb10 with continuous upgrades to the hub and dtek for security. I love the keyboard, in fact , I almost never use the vkb unless I'm in a real rush. The battery is OK. Gets me through the day, il unplug at 6 , do my daily tasks like email , bbm , whatsapp , browsing , YouTube, and then il get home around 6 with about 20-25 percent left. Play with it until 8 or so and itl be down to 5. That's all I need. It's made for my needs so all the people slating this device clearly haven't given it a chance to evolve. I can assure you, the priv that launched with lollipop and the one that has marshmallow now is a completely different beast. It's cool with gaming although on a serious note I'm not one for gaming on my device, This is such an awesome productivity tool. I don't know why people don't give the priv a chance. This will be my phone for the next year as well until hopefully a priv 2.0 launches. Then il upgrade hopefully. I have no problems at all. No heating , no poor battery , no lag etc. It's my 2nd best phone I have owned after my passport. Give it a try , or not. Either way you missing out on being different , on being privileged.

  • I had some heating issues, but I solved them quickly, so the phone is working great. Way better then the LG G3 junk I had before. On the moderate, to heavy use, the CPU temp has to be around 32-35C, on low to moderate use anywhere from 28-32, on sleeping mode lower then 24C. Keep the phone flat on the face site and it will go to sleep mode. Battery is rarely drained at that position.

  • The new Android version will be pushed by your cell service provider. BBRY does only the DTEK, HUB and other above Android layer software, as far as I know. You can always twit the Blackberry help and ask them. @BlackBerryHelp.

  • Dude, my reception is super clear and loud. Phone has nothing to do with the quality of reception. The modem is good quality. So stop spitting no sense.

  • blackberry priv is an excellent mobile phone device / this is a flagship mobile

  • Guessing then it's only yours, get it repaired or replaced with new priv

  • Priv is a piece of junk. phone does not have reception. am within 2 kms of Rogers tower,(my cell server), classic gave me full bars reception, Priv gives less than 1/2 bar and drops calls continually. paid 800+ bucks for it and will likely have to go back to classic or another brand.

  • please help.. am not getting android 6.. its showing me its up to date.. now how do i get android 6??? plzz say smthng.. thanks

  • i have the q20 bberry classic i receive a message that from end december 2016 this handset will not support whattsapp

  • Although whatsApp will be pulling away from the BIS/BOS, the app will still be available the BB users, WhatsApp mentioned they will be offering a paid app which will work from data charges. Don't panic, before you start selling your mobile wait til year end 2016...

  • BBM already received several updates in 2015 and BlackBerry will continue upgrading the platform to improve the experience. More "key security updates" are set to roll out later this year, and the company also promised to make BBM more fun. The company also confirmed that its latest BlackBerry Priv handset, which runs on Android, will continue to support WhatsApp. - See more at:

  • We needs games from first touch

  • nope..... WhatsApp is ending support for the entire BlackBerry OS

  • Hi Goodday, I also see that whatsapp will no longer be on BB's is it on the the BB's lower than BB Q10?

  • Yeah, pls update to marshmallow. The phone will completely change after that, it will rock. It sucks under lollypop.

  • Hi... Battery backup and Heating issues r there in my Priv... lollypop version... Heard updating to marshmellow solves these issues... Can someone plz tell me how to update to marshmellow... I didnt get any updates as such in phone settings(software update) option.... Plz help me out...

  • Been using it for a week. Battery can last a full day under normal use, and more than half a day under heavy use. The physical keypad is not as great as that on the Blackberry Classic because the keys are not as tall. Nevertheless, it's still much better to type on when compared to touchscreen keypad. Blackberry didn't seem to have modified the OS much. It's almost like using stock Android with some Blackberry add-ons. Love the Hub which groups all my email. DTEK is another great app to keep your phone secure. You can fine tune permissions for each individual app. Overall, a great phone for $650 Canadian dollars. I'm loving mine.

  • A very good phone - especially since recent software updates. Having the combination of Blackberry Hub email and messaging system, with full Android capability, is unbeatable. The hardware is good too, especially with the slider keyboard which means the phone can be used as a proper productivity tool. There is also a mechanism of creating a work and personal platform, so it is like having two phones. It is effortless to switch between the two capabilities. The Priv has a lovely curved screen, which it is possible to swipe to see productivity apps, like the Hub, notes, email and calendar. It also has some very good speakers for Google Play listening et al. The Camera is excellent, as is video recording. Battery life is good, with the software updates, improving capacity still further. To make it even better, switch off google sync, as you have all your emails anyway, in the non-battery draining, and more useful Blackberry Hub. There are special - unique - security and encryption features, preventing hacking, unwanted app surveillance and viruses, built into both the hardware and software, that are pretty rare in modern smartphones. The Blackberry Priv is a serious Smartphone for Business Users. The company has taken the good parts from Blackberry 10, and moulded them to Android, without the phone feeling that it has unnecessary Bloatware. I am surprised that this phone has not had more success. I guess this comes down to the name 'Priv' (unremarkable), and lack of proper marketing/advertising by Blackberry. Very few people know that Blackberry has moved on from the Blackberry Bold or even Curve and that the company now produces state of the art smart phones like the Passport, or Priv. Marketing this phone should be based on the unique hardware, with the keyboard, and the productivity and security features. That is the phoine's USP and makes it different from other high-end smarthones like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, HTC 10, or even the Blackphone.

  • I preorderd this phone and have had since launch... I really like the phone. The battery life is more than a day, and I use the phone for at least 15 hours a day with medium use, and always have power to spare. The camera is good, but not the best. imgur.com/UEYd93t is really good example of the quality. (i shot this) The screen is pretty good and the keyboard is useful (if you remember its there) You can scroll using it by rubbing your finger over the keys.

  • Go for it and enjoy something great!

  • Hey guys. I'm thinking of getting me this phone. Can you advise if I am about to make the right decision.

  • I've just got the PRIV and I must say it's an incredible device. Beautiful, fast and full of surprises. It does have stock Android but with a touch of BlackBerry. If you thinking of getting it, just get it!!!

  • BlackBerry prive all software support like android,

  • Dude see this link for solutions It affects most Android 6.0 users as well

  • Don't worry, that is for BB10 devices only , not for Android.. go ahead and buy PRIV. Its android with BB sweetness. You will love it.

  • No , its only for BB10 devices, Priv is Android 6.0. Priv is a very good device at the current price point. I got it for a very steep price.

  • It is for BB10 OS. For android like priv and dtek50 no issue.

  • I have a BlacKBerry, but was told from the end of 2016 one will not be able to use whatsapp on BlackBerry! Is this true for all BB's as I was looking to buy the BB Priv but am now weary

  • i love this phone.

  • Try with an update if not make a factory setting but before this you have to do a back up of all your data (SMS, Call, Gallery.......)

  • I love this phone

  • solid phone

  • This is a marshmallow permission thing. Check out in marshmallow help forums..

  • I had a dream using Priv and it's on the way from wonderland I love priv and l love it

  • I Have my Priv since January 2016... no problem until 3 weeks ago.. I'm having something call Overlay... The Hub needs permission granted... I have done what it says to do... go to settings and temporarily turn off Overlay... doesn't WORK.. I don't have access to my Hub.. emails or Apps... HELP!

  • Dude allow the phone to settle. Update all softwares. In a week ur battery will come for 2 days.. Guess u are new to android.

  • Already patched by BlackBerry

  • I have a Blackberry Classic which I like but always felt that the ideal phone (for me) was something with the screen size of an iPhone 6 or a Samsung S7 but with the physical keyboard and the best BB apps. And then came the PRIV. At first, I was skeptical - the reviews put me off. Overheating, plasticky feel, not very good keyboard. Plus the price. £600 - that's a hard call to make putting it right up there price-wise with the latest from Apple and Samsung. So, having recently bought the wife an S7 and decided that Android had moved on far enough that it was worth ditching the Classic and getting one for myself - but then CPW brought the PRIV down to £399.99 and at that price, it had to be worth a punt. And I'm so glad I did. Forget the name on the top - this is a great Android phone. Before we go any further, let me address the overheating and other reported issues.... First off - look and feel. I'd been put off by the display dummies I'd seen but this phone in the flesh is superb. While I like the heft and feel of the iPhone 6 (and indeed, the S7), they need to be put in a case to protect them from the inevitable drop(s). The PRIV has a pseudo carbon-fibre, rubberized coating to it which feels really nice in the hand. It's nice and grippy so doesn't feel like it'll head for the floor at every opportunity but it's not so "rubbery" that it feels sticky and uncomfortable. I really like it. Overheating - when I first got the phone, I spent some time initialising stuff and, just like many of the reports, it got as warm as a very warm thing indeed. Then I upgraded the Android version to Marshmallow and, bingo, all the heating issues have disappeared. I can watch video, listen to music, spend time on social media - it stays nice and cool throughout. Physical keyboard. I've always been a fan of the BB keyboards and was worried that this was reported to be very different. Well, the good news is that it might be a slightly different design but it works really well. The on-screen keyboard is brilliant (the best soft keyboard I've ever used and soooo much better than the one on the iPhone) and I find myself swapping between the two depending on how I feel at the time. The physical keyboard is easy and accurate - that might not be the case if you've got massive fingers but for the rest of us, it's easy. I also like using it as a track pad and the keyboard shortcuts are really handy. And so to my impressions of the phone itself - and as you can probably tell, I love it. I can't help thinking that many of the less complimentary reviews have been from those who can't see past the Blackberry name and just assume that it's old-fashioned and uncool - or from those who are broken-hearted to find that it's running Android and not BB10. Personally, I don't care. I want a phone that I find easy to use - check. That does the basics like phone calls, browsing, calendar management, email, messaging and notifications in an efficient and un-intrusive way - check. I want something with decent battery life - double check (charged to 100% at 8am this morning, still on 93% at 6pm after a lot of use through the day), and I want something that I can customise to work the way I want it to work rather than have to change the way I work to match the phone - check. So, is this the perfect phone? Of course not. I need to find a decent Alarm app and I've had to download a proper File Manager - but that's the great thing. Blackberry have created a good-looking, practical and well-made phone. They've taken the best of their apps and ported them to an OS that allows me to build on that starting point and make the phone exactly what I want it to be. Final note - I teamed this up with the BB leather flip case and that adds some useful features with regard to notifications and battery saving. Conclusion: I nearly bought an S7 and I'm sure I'd have been happy with it. But I'm glad that CPW brought the PRIV down to a bargain price and let me buy a phone that's every bit as good in most respects (and better in many others) for a lot less

  • Upgraded from my Q10 to the Priv. One big issue. I a male with what I'd like to think are average size fingers, and I had a hard time typing the top row of the keyboard. The top part of the phone interferes and made it uncomfortable. Strike one. Once I got past that, I had another issue. Blackberry Hub. Crashed everytime I tried responding to an email. Updated software. Did a factory restore. Twice. No help. Strike two. I didn't wait for strike three as my window for return on Amazon was closing. I sent it packing. Back to the Q10. Dreaming the Mercury will be better. Keyboard looks to be comparable to the current layouts, and hopefully the software bugs will be hammered out by then. Until then...

  • At first I was bit skeptical about buying this phone because there are many other Android devices with similar specs available at a lower price. But after I tried this device I fell in love with it. That slide out keyboard is an absolute delight to use. I saw myself typing much faster and comfortably on it. It's undeniably a beautiful device and my opinion to anyone who is still apprehensive about buying it just go ahead and try it you would just love it. Hands down it's one of the best Android device available in the market.

  • The battery life of my Priv is just worst, I bought it 3 days back, yesterday I charged It to 100%, I did not even make a call nor even touched my cell and after 2 hours the battery was showing 84%. Without even using it, the battery drains automatically.

  • This is my favorite one

  • Ok you are a troll, Blackberry is the first to have three patched. and is the first to fix the last one. Name any other OEM who is patching by early Sep'16.

  • Why so delay..??? Quadrooter bug has been detected by Qualcomm on April 16.

  • Already blackberry and Android has patched 3 out of 4 , last one will be patched in Sep'16

  • Do I need special Recharge using browser WhatsApp n ol... and I need to recharge bn plans...??

  • Android can not be secured by anyone, even by blackberry. Blackberry's most secured DTEK 50 and PRIV is also vulnerable for one of the flaws of quadrooter. Still blackberry didn't announced when it'll patch quadrooter android bug. Actually sony announced it'll patch it in next update.

  • Blackberry's most secured DTEK 50 and PRIV is also vulnerable for one of the flaws of quadrooter. Is tat wat blackberry called secured android phones..???

  • Please' Please make a phone like "PRIV" in a smaller, lighter version.

  • Ive had a google phone and an i phone for work. All that time i had a bb. Im going for the priv after trying the others and comparing. I use it for business not puppy vids on you tube. Its a real business tool and it just makes my life easier. Thanks for keeping at it RIM.

  • I just switched from BB-PP to BB Priv and it's an amazing phone. According to Cnet, the next edition is not a purely original BB phone. BB's new DTEK50 is a Chinese made phone comes from TCL, the manufacturers Alcatel and it's a carbon copy of Alcatel One Touch Idol 4..!

  • Thanks for the reply lyooba , can u tell kind of rough estimation of how much battery and camera quality is improved

  • It's as secure as it was possible to make Android secured. So, quite a lot of security under the hood. The fact it is used by humans is its weakest point.

  • It's a different phone with 6.0.1 and works lot better. Less heat, next to none. Still gets updates every month. Battery life better.

  • Guys can someone put up short review for blackberry priv after Android Marshmallow 6.0 update regarding Battery life , heating , and camera quality. I m looking forward to buy one . Would appreciate if someone post here

  • Very bad

  • Just migrate from passport to priv..... as expected, android os are very poor compare to bb10 os. Gone miss you bb10 os.. best mobile os ever.... i have to switch because of wa.... hope one day bb can comeback with their own os and we can forget all apps who dont want to joint bb10 os... all succes to RIM

  • Yes it does

  • yaa good......

  • why this phone comes with android,... he should use BB OS!

  • U can wait for their mercury model (2017) wz/ physical keyboard. 4.5in disp. , 18mp,8mp, 32gb,3gb

  • I think it's just as good

  • I think i should also upgrade to BB priv as i see its more advanced than the SamS7 Big up to BB priv keep up the good work BB

  • Will Pleco app work on Priv?

  • I have the apple iphone 6s. I am waiting for Blackberry to come up with the same specs like the priv but with a smaller screen like a 4.7" and should be much lighter than the priv with the actual keyboard.

  • everybody has their own opinion. somebody likes iphone or other phones but for me the Blackberry is the best one

  • Do you think that blackberry priv better than galaxy s7 or iphone 6

  • I'm considering upgrading to this phone when my contract is up. Just one thing I need to know though... I'm finding that many modern smartphones cameras do not pick up infrared light produced by the LEDs in remote controls, etc. I work with IR systems quite often & 'depend' on a camera's ability to 'see' this light spectrum. Does anyone here know if their Priv camera is responsive to this light? Asking to borrow customer's phones because my Nokia 650 doesn't pick it up is embarrassing to say the least.

  • No it is not. It is a blackberry for business people. Not Pokémon go players

  • Great phone! but i will be upgrading to their new highend phone in october. I don't think i need a physical keyboard anymore.

  • I Really Like Phone WIth Physical keyboard yet Smooth on Virtual

  • No phone camera can match the quality of a DSLR, even if the DSLR has the same amount of megapixels.

  • Blackberry is a worst company.....i suggest better take Nokia23 blackberry has worst service center....i purchased a new BlackBerry priv n i am facing many prob from last 1month my phone is with them

  • These things were true, If you update to Marshmallow you wouldn't have any of these. I have a Priv and I don't have any of this. If you are still facing these issues then you ppl are having a defective product. Please replace the phones.

  • Amen man. This phone is a piece. People who say they aren't havin those issues are just as bad as the people who defend any other item they like. Overpriced oven. Glad they took time to really make a splash. Chen. What are you doin man

  • BlackBerry PRIV can take SD cards up to 2 terabytes, not 256GB.

  • This is supposed to be a review of the Blackberry Priv, not a review of the Blackberry OS 10.

  • Iphone's rear camera can't compete blackerry priv's camera. Bb priv camera can captures photos like a DSLR if u know how to use it.

  • I think it's time for blackberry to make a lighter and a smaller screen with about the same features and power like the Priv

  • If the front selfie camera is even worse than iphone 5s? Or its better than that?

  • BlackBerry 10 OS is very good from my experience of using android and iOS. IOS is better version of android. The best thing of BlackBerry 10 is BlackBerry Hub that can gather all the notification. You will not miss even single one emails, messages, WhatsApp etc and you can track it back 2) contact - you will automatically merge the contact together, android, you have to do it manually 3) Calendar - BlackBerry 10 will notifify you promptly and will silent the device automatically during meetings not like android and iOS. 4) system will not crash like android 5) virus protection, seems that, BlackBerry 10 cannot being attack by virus like android. 6) The fastest email ever when tested with i5 laptop, Iphone and android phone. Do hope that, BlackBerry will be persistently being used. I like BlackBerry 10 very much based on all the advantages listed but why most apps doesn't support BlackBerry 10

  • for those wants to buy this device, I've using this device for 3month+ .. so far it has been GREAT.. well? things that I love from this device is the almost pure nexus like experienc just disable the hub and the performance has been consistently fast.. definelty a + for the performance and UI... rear camera has been solid, it has "good" lowlight capability that outperform the 6s's... aand it got WB,AF,EXP/ISO,shut spd manual mode .. it is only shame for those that takes a lot of selfie, would be dissapoint.... speaker is not the loudest ,, but its front facing!! its a different story for the headphones ,it is one of the best sounding on a smartphone... for you that doesnt mind a fingerprint scanner/mediocre front face cam.. I would recommend this phone, since the price is 400$ right now!!!!longlife blackberry

  • we can and able to change our devices and the os-es in its. why must i to buy new phone for whatsapp, there are a lot of programs to send anything. or, why must i to change to android for just whatsapp, when i think that it is not secure? :)

  • Reuben, Just to clarify, Priv will be able to use whatsapp, because it runs on true Android OS, not a sideloaded version, that the OS 10 used to access android apps If you read the whole of the review that whatsapp sends you, it explains it all. Hope this helps. (I currently have a Z10, and am looking at having to move as well!! Would prefer to stay with BB too)

  • 80% people said android os is not safe, any one can trace the android phones, is it true? This blackberry priv is os android, is it secured?

  • I likethe design of the phon ebut while using the device it is really slow not hangs a lot

  • This Last week, it has been appearing that message, I don´t want to change to another phone, it´s just i can´t write with the virtual keyboard of the other smartphones. But i seems to a lot of apps are goig to stop to support for the BB10 platform.

  • priv is android not bb os 10 so at least for 5 years whatsapp will be supported

  • no... priv is based on android so at least 3-4 years more will support it :D

  • Hi, I've a question. Now I have a Q10 and when am open my whatsapp there's a message that my blackberry doesn't support whatsapp anymore from 31december 2016. Is this also like this with the prev or not? I need whatsapp for my work and considering to by the prev but need to know if whatsapp will be available on blackberry or not. Thanks

  • To reduce heating and save battery life do the following: 1) Turn off "Location" in "Settings". If you keep it on, then your phone will be continuously updating your location with Google. This means continuous battery strain, cpu usage "heating issues", and data usage. 2) Next, go to "Settings -> Battery" to see which apps are draining your phone the most. Some apps like to have a continuous sync or have constant push updates. This isn't a bad thing but know that it will eat up more battery life and, depending on the the frequency, may keep your cpu usage high. If you can limit the number of constant updates to manual or important/certain pushes, the better. Different apps will go about this in different ways but it is usually under their settings.

  • The heat issue abated over days & updates to some extent... itr is qualcomm compatible... get a qualcomm xcertified charger & it charges fast... even via qi if you get a good one (i.e. samsung)...

  • Hi ihave bought priv few days before its good and un imaginabl and unique mobile but the problem which I'm facing is difficult for me to use over heating , battery standby time is low as 6 to 7 hours and it takes 3 to 4 hours to charge fully and I can't set the security pin lock every r time ,

  • Quite simply the best phone out there. My wife has an IPhone 6s and even she was disappointed. I've had Sony xperia Z1 and it was brilliant. Almost bought the Z5 premium but wasn't convinced. This BBPriv has blown me. Usability is amazing and play...well it is an Android so...best of both worlds I guess!

  • Just saying, 2TB isn't more like 2000Gb... ;)

  • htc 10 its snap 820 but priv is snap 808, you should compare priv with lg v10.

  • Price wise is your bill ok end of the month

  • when battery is damaged buy another one instead of throwing the phone.we need removable battery and 20 mp camera plus dual sim.

  • Hi friends I'm completely confused somebodies say the quality of privs keyboard is not good and priv will burn the hands during working Is it true? Which one is better honestly? 1.HTC 10 2.BB Priv Thanks

  • Simply the best off all. In the beginning I had the heating problem but after reseting the battery a few times,, holding power button with down volume button while connected to to the wall charger the issue was resolved. It's last me a full 18 hours of heavy use on a single battery charge. Love it. Go buy with confidence. It's the best blackberry and Android ever

  • best mobile evr seen in my life ...bttr than iphone 6s

  • Hi kindly guide me black berry which model operate imo and Skype

  • there is a problem which prevent me of buying it and that is it doesnt have dual sim version. if it had it would be great and sure I would buy it.

  • just brought the blackberry priv, and i must say using a mobile non stop emails, social, games, and work based projects this machine has kept its cool and power at its highest, i recommend this phone to anyone THE ONLY Problem is that there is no problem i love this phone keep it up BB

  • hi Please make this phone smaller, lighter, thinner, etc .4.5" or 4.7" would be awesome,it would blow apple way far.

  • Then your phone is faulty. Please get it replaced or update your software ....

  • My bb priv touch doesnt work in some apps like whatssapp, bb hub, dailpad etc

  • This phone makes the iPhone 6+ look like an oversized shiny calculator. 10 more Megapixels in the camera, too. Beastly RAM in such a small space, georgous display, and it's pretty light, too. Overall, its bloody brilliant

  • Sound quality is really good.I won't say it is loud but its loud enough.

  • Device is on Marshmallow and is like a Nexus phone. Beautiful pictures and no bloat.

  • Am very happy with this amazing device..I have apple iphone6s also. I thought only Apple is the best..but, not... Am feeling the difference and quality..but the front camera is not good .. But myself I don't care it because as a business phone....

  • just iphone and apple brand

  • Hi bro, I advise you to go ahead with the priv it's the best smartphone ever made buy blackberry in 5,4 inch. In comparison with the others flagship : Gallaxy s7, xpreria z5, LG G5, HTC 10, iphone 6s. The quality of the priv it a step ahead those in many aspects : screen, microphone, speaker, camera scheinder, and the physical keyboard. If you will not satisfied with the device, I may bought it fr you if you decide. Enjoy the priv the best daily driver nowadays. Best regards.

  • Hi bro, the blackberry priv support maximum ms cards or 2TB equal : 200 gb. Regards.

  • Hi bro, can you tell abt speaker quality when you watch video in comparison of what you had before ! Thanks and waiting for your comments !

  • @Big-G - looks like you have been marketing I phones for some time now... @Twafik- I use priv, It is undeniably good phone after marshmallow. If u ask for selfies, it has a bad front camera. Its good for gaming, multi media, rear cam is okay (after marshmallow updates), it is stock android like with some neat edge tricks and keyboard features(so good for mailing and written contents like BB passport) , battery is V.good. I would suggest you to go for Samsung Note series, they are the only product with differentiated features like BB has, others are all same.

  • Iphone 6s is the only best choice.

  • iphone 6s anytime. If you are not a blackberry die hard fine. You can also think of s7 edge rather.

  • they have truely under-utilised its processor. I mean snapdragon 808 and just 2 mp camera

  • It supports upto 256 GB per requirements

  • Does this phone supports 128gb micro sd card?

  • Quite funny for having just 2 MP front camera on this very very premium phone. It should be at least 5MP in this era. With 9.4mm thickness, battery capacity can be increase more than 3410 mAh for such a beast. CPU is just mediocre, 808. Apart from security, nothing worth more than a mid-range mi4S.

  • yo dude....buy the priv man its an amazing phone like the best of b lackberry

  • I bought this phone after switching from Verizon to cricket. Doesn't have the battery life of my Droid Maxx but not many phones do. Once you get used to the hardware keyboard, it is nice. The onscreen/touch keyboard is probably the best I've ever used. I got the non-carrier version in like new condition for less than $400usd. At that price, it is an awesome phone!! Does get pretty hot when gaming even after Marshmellow update (which is a must for this phone) but it will not burn your hand like some claim. Actually not even close to burning your hand

  • Its possible to replace a battery for Q10, but not possible with BB passport..

  • Good phone but battery drains very fast.

  • lovely

  • Too bad battery is non-removable, If your battery is gone (like I had with my Q10) then you have to buy new phone :/

  • Android is fake mantain your legacy, BlackBerry Os

  • Hi Guys, I am currently having the BlackBerry Passport and looking to buy an additional phone beside the passport, selecting between the Priv and the I Phone 6S plus? Please advise which one should I buy. Thank you

  • Just a little smaller, lighter, slimmer, and capable of 2 sim cards would be the awesome phone.

  • Device is on Marshmallow and is like a Nexus phone. Beautiful pictures and no bloat.

  • Front cam : crap Rear cam : solid

  • Who cares. You ain't going swimming with a business grade phone.

  • Are you insane. The need for separate Internet plans was long gone with the introduction of BB OS10. Plus this is an android phone. Consider This as a premium build Nexus not a cheap nexus toy

  • Blackberry Priv now on sale in Usa well worth the price 375$ usd

  • Any blackberry phone not have dual sim options

  • Very nice fone

  • some body help me . with what charger you get the 60 percent in 30 min . i have tried with samsung fast charger and ust can rich 30 percent in 30 min please answer me : email: [email protected]

  • Harry wanted to know *why* the Priv ran on Android. He already knew it didn't run on BBOS10.

  • No heating issues, if you DON'T connect to 2G. Connect to 4G.3G and NOT 4G.3G.2G.

  • I think you should have read about the Priv before complaining about easily solvable issues. The heating is something known about, and the solution is simple - turn off the 2G. So Instead of 4G.3G.2G, you'd only connect to 4G.3G. No more overheating. Anyway, who uses 2G anymore, unless you're in a country with no 4G and poor 3G?

  • Blackberry Priv is the closest thing you ll get to a Nexus phone. No bloatware like other Android phones. If you want to use Blackberry productivity apps you can otherwise you can switch them off and Voila. PURE Android heaven

  • I switched from a passport to this Priv, because the passport had been replaced 3 times by a faulty SIM card holder (i guess it has something to do with the sim cards, but those had been replaced also, nevertheless..) The passport was my first BB and i just loved it, very strong and fast, amazing battery life.. The Priv is just another android phone, with all of the android sickness. Ofcourse you can install all of the android apps but do i really want that? no, not me. I want it to work . I have this phone for a few months and i havent typed 4 sentences with the hardware keyboard. It's just not good. garbage compared to the passport. Camera, well it just sucks also; Build quality is also poor. I'm not saying i'm totally going to give up on this phone. It has some lag now and then but no that often. It does get hot at longer use and then the battery drains at at least 1% per minute. My next phone will be another passport. that's for sure.

  • If this is the best camera you' ve seen on a phone, you didn't have a lot of great phones in the past :D This camera has allot of problems with half-lighted conditions. I like this phone, but the camera on any iphone is WAY better

  • Go for iPhone SE instead

  • Best Android I have used. Camera is outstanding. Marshmallow update now on phone makes it even better.

  • I think me and you are on the same page this phone has busted a few blood vessels The Blackberry priv is by far the worst phone ever created: problems I have received to the point of insanity 1 ) overheats to the point where it feels like it's going to burn you. 2 ) battery life is decent if you're not using it for work if so give it 3 to 4 hours before it dies and if charging do not use otherwise battery life will drain as if you're not even charging it 3 ) there's a 100% chance you will receive extreme lag to the point where you want to Chuck it in a parking lot, get a shotgun and shoot at it a few times it certainly has tested my patience 4 ) when receiving a phone call sometimes it doesn't respond so that means you will miss probably some very important phone calls and have to reset and wait for it to boot for a good 10 minutes

  • This is the best mobile device I have owned, many are talking bad about this phone but what I found out that they look at it as a mobile gaming consoles! But if you want a mobile phone to be used as your daily phone for work and other stuff and u don't care about games like grown up people you can't go wrong with this phone at all. I am coming from BlackBerry Passport and iPhone6 hated most android phones because they are full of problems and options overloading the OS and mobile it self but if you want the clean android you need to use a nexus model again looks like a toy feels cheaper too, but BlackBerry made it right it feels a trip to the past with keyboard wow I can't complain, yes it heat some times but only if I am testing a game that doesn't mean the game don't work it works fine but for me Games are not a thing and I installed an app to show me the CPU temperature and we compared the priv to the Samsung toy 7S edge which only resulted in the Galaxy toy was about 3 decrease less than the priv (same games same time) I don't know why some are talking bad about the Priv but I can only see that it could be made by the help of toy seller's or people who comments wants toys not serious phone to look and use as real device for grown up men not kides wanting games and chatting to fell there sad free time!

  • This phone is very good ... very classy . if it had s820 SoC i would definitely consider it as my next phone. very beautiful. just bump up the specs Berry.

  • plz help me to choose , bb priv or iphone SE ? tell me your reasons thanks

  • hi do we need to go for blackberry packages only or can we go for normal data internet.

  • Blackberry is the only manufacturer to update their security patches on day one availability for Marshmallow . Marshmallow made the phone even better. Dtek shuts down Any permission you do not want too give.. Eg microphone , location.

  • hello everyone, am a BBuser since 10 years, never bought another phone. now have my new PRIV but recently with the new version of whatsapp, having problem after hearing the voice message, the screen turn off and u have to unlock it to send again...so annoying only this issue.. can someone help!?!??!

  • He was asking for advice about the Blackberry Priv with Marshmallow (6.0), and the answer you gave him shows that you have never had or used a Blackberry Priv, as its an Android phone, and the Blackberry apps you're referring to don't matter to an Android user. You were giving an opinion on a BBOS 10 phone, if you might have had one of those, or maybe a cheaper and much older phone?

  • Hello every one I like this phone realy first a fal i was BB user but after that no change in bB phone i became a APPLE user but i see this phone i today cell my phone buy a new BB priv I like this phone you also try ittttttt

  • I'm using Passport and Classic at the moment and thinking of buying Priv to replace Classic. I like physicall keyboard but I like touchscreen keyboard too. Wonder what is the reason Priv has both? One for SMS other for mails? Or touchscreen keyboard for short messages, physicall keyboard for writing stories? Can't find the right reason. For me Priv could be without physicall keyboard (and with better battery). What do you think?

  • Hey guys can anyone post opinion about blackberry priv after recent updates regarding battery backup , any issues left or heating.???

  • Stunning device, fast, keyboard, good batt life, best phone available

  • Hi Dude, welcome from stonage. This is Android berry so none of what you say even makes sense.

  • The performance of the Priv after Marshmallow has become very smooth and I think all the bugs have been resolved. You should remember its 808 processor but thanks to Marshmallow its very smooth and its not getting hot. The feature of this phone is not processor but it has so many tricks and utility that no other phone has. Only drawback it has is front 2 mp camera. Even that is good in decent light but when its dark it messes up. I am completely happy with my decision.

  • The marshmallow update did help with things, however it's still hot. after marhsmallow now there is Doze mode, so if you don't use it much and leave the phone sleeping it may last even longer than a day. on the other hand if you use it - well, i used 42% in 3-4 hours. my opinion in general - buy it. it's a great phone - it's fast, comfortable and the keyboard is epic after you get used to it

  • could be better if it had water resistant technology

  • Hey, I'm looking forward to buy this phone, please tell me about its performance after the Marshmallow update

  • After Marshmallow update, heating is resolved. Heavy gaming is warming it up but not hot anymore (it's normal and it even happens with latest processors). Battery is fantastic now, can easily get through a day of heavy use. All glitches are resolved. Now I believe they are releasing further updates for fine tuning..

  • Hi bro if want going to buy blackberry so I say do not buy. The other brand are far better. I am using BlackBerry and I realise nothing like feel smartphone. u can't be leave BlackBerry made app doesn't support,no service center,no Google play and if u are game lover then I say live your game passion. I buy BlackBerry after 2month have some problem I go at service center they said in your phone some software problem so we have replace I said ok they replaced but after 10 month I feel my front camera create mirror image.so they make me fool so plz choose other opstion.

  • Hi there buddy, i am looking forward to buy it soon can u post some details regarding new battery time, how is 6.0 and heating issues etc. thanks

  • Be different to all the other followers , get a Priv by far the best phone our business has got, blows our iPhone 6 s and Samsung s6 out of the water, awesome camera loads of memory and like always the best communication phone for business by a country mile .

  • If you love security you will know that this phone gets updated faster than any Other Android phone. Day one security patches and constant updates from Blackberry have made this phone a beast. Since phone is now on Marshmallow its battery life is lasting even longer. Camera on the Priv is amazing. Blackberry really went all out when they chose schneider kreuznach. They have a long history going back over 100 years making some of the best lenses in the world.

  • Go to advanced interactions in your settings and adjust your phone to your liking..

  • If you Really wanted a "Blackberry" you would have bought the Passport . The Priv is an Android phone with many features of a Blackberry 10 phone. Best of both worlds.. I have a feeling the negative posters on here are short sellers. Nothing to do with the most secure Android phone which Blackberry built.

  • My Priv frequently goes on standby/sleep mode. The blank black screen is very frustrating. Changed the display settings but with no success. Any trick to get back my screen?

  • I use bbs since 10 years now.i have tried and had so many models of this company. Unfortunately i have to say that this is not a blackberry phone. Its an Android phone and thats it. Iam very sad that iam going to leave the company.i feel betraded by the Canadians. The worst bb i have ever used....iam really sorry because i was waiting and hoping for it so much.

  • If you actually knew how to use A modern smartphone you'd be able to close all background apps. Camera is the best Camera on a smartphone i have ever used . I can post those pics anywhere you'd like to prove it. On Marshmallow the Battery life has improved even more. I get a full day of use on it.. Once again If you knew that you can Stop your apps from constantly updating in the background, and using your battery in multiple ways. Dtek is absolutely fabulous. I can shut off any permission I don t like now.

  • You can give it to me, I'm serious about that :)

  • Ive been using the Sh*t Berry Priv for almost 5 months now. And yep you guessed it I am absolutely not impressed. First of all, the keyboard is absolutely useless. Why? 1. When slide up the phone becomes overly long and the weight of the phone is shifted towards the top of the phone. Making it hard to hold the phone while typing UNLESS your hands are larger than normal. 2. But if your hands are larger than normal you will have a hard type trying to type on the small keys as your fat fingers will be pressing everything except the one you want. So why not just use the screen-touch keyboard? Well yes... that's exactly what I have been using the whole time so really the keyboard just becomes a useless function that makes the phone heavier, and the battery power less efficient. OVERHEATING This phone constantly overheats when you have too many background apps open, or especially when downloading new stuff. And it gets super hot making it a nuisance to touch, and just plain out makes you feel like your holding a crappy phone. LAG This phone 4 out of 7 days is having a spaz lag party in which you the user must endure and bear until for some reason it goes back to normal. The way I handle this is by using cleaner apps, speed boosting apps etc. etc. Which wastes my time. Camera The camera is horrible. The quality of photos taken is horrible, the capture speed is terrible. When taking a selfie with this phone make sure you dont move a hair for at least 3 seconds after you press the button, or it will be a blur. Batteries Takes long time to fully charge, and 100% battery use is about 7 hours maximum. In conclusion... The money spent on this phone can be so much better spent. Please think carefully before buying this phone, unless your a real BB advocate I suggest spending your cash elsewhere. The keyboard gets old after about the first week, so if that's your reason to buy this phone then seriously think again.

  • The Priv Keeps on Getting better with every update. Now on Marshmallow it rocks even more. New price in the Usa will help it sell even better

  • Do you know that some people -like me, for instance- hate virtual keyboards or can't use them ? The reason why you hate it is the reason why I love it ^_^

  • Ive used BB in many years, have used both BIS and BES, but when i changed to Q10 it wasnt necessary with either BIS or BES. I had data and could access my work mail/exchange etc. PRIV has Android and should work as other non old BB phones, but you want you data compressed through RIM? BIS provided you a data connection through RIM, and all data was compressed and so on. You should have full data access without BIS or BES with a 10+ BB. And what i mean is that theres no need for either BIS or BES today, unless your admin or ISP tells you so, what would be strange!? Did i misunderstood anything? :)

  • Tanx @makaveli

  • Hello, did you get answer to your question if Priv supports BES and BIS... I bought it yesterday and still waiting to know if my BES and BIS provides me full data access or I have tu additionally subscribe for data package on top of BB package. Please let me know in case anyone using BES and BIS on PRIV. Thanks.

  • Well, Asus Zenfone's camera is garbage, their 3D graphic is garbage too. Priv better.

  • Hoping to see lots of Blackberry android design in the future. Hehe goodluck bb

  • No, you download it from the play store

  • in reply to Tony... For me, I'll go for iPhone. I prefer the iOS rather than Android, but this is not the case for everyone. iPhone have a better build quality and looks rigid. On the other hand, bb has a real keyboard for those who love texting and an edge to edge screen. Consider also the accessories availability. iPhone accessories are everywhere.

  • Hi,does d BlackBerry priv comes with built in facebook app?

  • Yes, that is my wish too, something smaller than Priv, cause BB OS is so easy to use.

  • Hiiii Which one bb prive or iphone 6

  • It is good to see that Blackberry is coming up again. We all need Blackberry to build its own lost identity back. This jayant got fail due to the lack of adaptation to the people's need. Those days Blackberry was positioned in minds of the people that similar to Mercedes Benz. Blackberry need to come with Dual Sim phones urgently. Dual sim is the phone that needed for Business Community and professionals. Recently I saw Blackberry Priv , amazing features with Email client. Still this market is with a big gap. Samsung couldn't full filled the gap and either Microsoft. Microsoft's windows 10 is a big failure when its come to email client and they still learning to develop phones for business community and professionals. Blackberry need to immediately release Dual sim phones without delay. The market is aggressively seeking Dual sim phones with new features for email client. Ex. when you send an email from your Phone's pop3 account at the same time it should be appear in your laptop or pc after the syncing. This amazing feature is there with the Blackberry Priv but the phone is single sim. Single sim is useless for professionals and business community. Please act fast and build your image with supplying markets need.

  • nice phone . . .

  • Does Blackberry Priv has BIS

  • I wish blackberry comes up with a new model like PRIV but smaller in size and weight .

  • Why Blackberry doesn't have dual sim. That why Blackberry struggling to come up. Good phone but need to adjust with ongoing needs.

  • I have a blackberry classic and I want to buy a priv but thr front cam is too low(2 mp, same as bb classic)! Hope blackberry will adjust their front cam to attract more buyers :)))

  • I have a priv, its front cam is a compromise to be frank, otherwise its a solid device. If you are looking for good front/back cameras and a decent phone buy LG G4 or V10 or G5 (they have the best smart phone cameras till date).

  • Asus

  • Can anyone plz tell me about the bb priv fron cam quality coz as i read the frnt m.p is 2....so im in little bit of doubt so plz tell me about the front cam quality.

  • Both Note 5 and Priv are great phones. Priv is better for security. Security updates have come out even faster than to Google Nexus phones. No other manufacturer comes close. However if your carrier does not push the updates, this does not help, so the best way to buy a Priv is unlocked so you get the updates straight from BlackBerry. Priv also has additional security on top of any other Android phone (there is a lot to this so research if this is important to you). Priv uses very close to stock Android which I prefer over Samsung's messy and overly complicated (but improving) TouchWiz. TouchWiz makes it hard for Samsung to release new Android versions in a timely fashion, so new Android versions take a long time to come out. Blackberry took even longer for Marshmallow to come out than Samsung, but I expect that this is because Android is new to Blackberry, but who knows for sure. Blackberry updates were very frequent with their old BB10 phones. Samsungs tend to be very well designed and pretty. Both have excellent cameras but I would say Samsungs is a little better. Note has the "S-Pen" stylus, and Priv has a slide out physical keyboard. Which of these is more useful is entirely up to you.

  • features are good but i wanted a phone with dual sim 32 gb model 3 or 4 gb ram....fast charging technology.....and a excellent quality of both the loudspeakers and calling speakers better than samsung devices

  • Awesome; android plus blackberry service...great specs 32gb memory 3gb ram 18mp cam and 5.4 screen display.

  • Note5 is bater than prive

  • does it support android to use some apps like viber facebook and some which samsung alaw

  • Priv is a good phone especially after marshmallow update but it's pricy ( I don't know if there are any real deals now). I am using one it has almost a stock android. Only thing you have to make sure if you go for priv is to make sure you get the one with wireless charging. I don't really about note 5 , except it doesn't have an expendable memory.

  • Witch one is best Blackberry priv (or) samsung note 5 Any one pls reply me I am waiting for buy....🙏

  • Got my Marshmallow update. Battery life now does justice to the spec, easily comes through a day of active use. Camera has become very snappy. Now we can use swype gesture both in virtual keyboard and hardware one. Overall very satisfied with the phone after Marshmallow update. Well done BB

  • Got my Marshmallow update. Now battery life has increased , easily comes a day of active usage. Camera is very snappy. Key board both hard and soft has swype gesture. Has become a very good phone !!!

  • Worst battery back up its mentioned 3410 mAh but work like 2000 mAh

  • Had few troubles with CEX but were sorted out. I think about 300quid about right for this phone also.

  • I'm in the UK and I will never buy phones from CEX again. Had nothing but issues last time. When this phone hits £300-350 I'll consider it.

  • Here in UK we have a second hand shop called CEX and they still want 485GBP for it which is still very high price. So still waiting for it to come down. Love real keypad phones.

  • Hi Guys , Can anyone post some details about what all changes u saw after Android 6.0 Update in Priv. Is the camera improved , does heating issue solved or kindly share ur experience after update as it will help gsmarena subscribers to more insights. Thanks.

  • Yes it does. After all Priv is basically an Android phone.

  • How can I get one of the phone

  • I like this phone, there I said it. Given that it'll spend it's life in a case the plastic doesn't bother me as much as some people, I like the slide and qwerty keyboard - it makes it stand out whether you think it's unnecessary or not, it's an amoled fhd screen - which is all you need under 7" despite what people may say, it has a decent battery size/life, the chipset is outdated now but this is a work phone not a game phone and really the 808 will still handle pretty much everything you throw at it. The only thing that lets this down is the ridiculous price. Even the BB CEO agrees. Cut the price and it could be the game changer BB needs.

  • Yes you are precisely correct. . the physical keyboard is an overkill. .waste of material and adds weight unnecessarily. .

  • Is Facebook messenger is working in Priv? like native android phone?

  • This is an awesome phone

  • The BB priv is a phone design for users who miss and enjoy the use of a physical keyboard alongside a spectacular OS, such as Android. If one does not desire the keyboard (the thickness along with it) then one should simple go for a full touch or something else. One should NOT waste one's money a phone if all one's going to do is give negative feedback!

  • BB took a lot of time in designing this phone and wanted to add every feature in the physical design to make sure it will attract the majority of users (i.e edge side , physical keyboard, and black premium finish), but they they didn't consider that it will affect: - The snapdragon version will be outdated (Processor) by the time of release. - The front camera is below 5 out 10. - Heat up by normal usage. - Consume battery more than average phone therefore the number in mAH is not exact in term of performance. Releasing this phone simply without the keyboard, and work more in the software upgrade and processor specification, will make this phone goes to the very top, by the unique features of BB Hub and smart touch keyboard features.

  • I have used this phone and sell it because of the unnecessary physical keyboard they put it in this phone :( and two of my friends sell it for the same reason, I have never used the keyboard and it just add weight and thickness to the phone, the thing is bb still believe that they will make more sales by adding keyboard and this is wrong!! it takes space and the buttons are so small, the design will be very limited!! I think if this phone released without a keyboard with some good features and shortcuts in the BB hubs (&stable software) it will make this phone one of the top phone for variety of users.

  • Hi, No Priv's OS is Android. it can't be run on Blachberry OS.

  • can someone tell me y the BlackBerry priv cant work on the BlackBerry OS.... buh they had to go for android????

  • BB torch is owsome its just that I can't download google app store

  • Not Priv related, but the same happened with my blackberry passport. Android apps worked flawlessly until last week when the "no connection" warning appeared with Facebook messenger, Facebook Lite and other apps. This only happened with mobile connection, not with Wi-Fi. It seems that the android apps stopped recognising the mobile connection. Here is how I solved the issue: I installed an android app called "Android Assistant" Since you can't download it directly from the google play store I downloaded it to an android phone, extracted it with "android apk extractor" and sent it to my Blackberry After installing, you have to choose the "Tools" tab and make sure that the wifi and mobile network icons are "on" (green color). Everything is working again. Hope this helps

  • apk on my bb z10 was working properly not until 2 weeks ago when I can't get them on-line like my fb messenger. Showing not connected to network even though I'm already connected. It has also a note saying that app wasn't inspected, could not connect to Blackberry Guardian. Any ideas on how to fix this? My OS is 10.3.1

  • How can I upgrade my application to prevent the heat issue

  • Agreed, Priv is a really good phone. Only set back is non removable battery. Much more functional than any available phone in the market....

  • Everything about the PRIV is great... Except for that BlackBerry decided to make the battery non-removable.

  • On Z10 do securitu wipe, backup your contacts first. After that, you will have native facebook app,and simply dont update it,it will work fine.I did same thing.

  • Have you tried to update? Someone wrote here it helped her a lot and got better after. Good luck

  • Agreed. Z30 is a very good phone. BOS 10.3 is a great OS (even without considering it's age). Too bad Chen came in and immediately gave up on BOS and touchscreen only phones.

  • I figured that installing the android version from 3rd party websites would work fine. Nice to have that confirmed. I don't know why Chen, Blackberry or Facebook mentioned this as an option ( actually I'm fairly certain I do know...he wants BOS 10.x to go away :< )

  • There is an update for the Facebook and Whatsapp applications, but that just takes you to a web app and it's not integrated with Blackberry Hub. I would suggest this. Uninstall the native Facebook app for Blackberry. Go to the web and find the latest Facebook app for Android (or maybe look on Amazon Store through BB Amazon app, might be there?) and download the APK. Once downloaded, install it on your phone. Say yes when asking about allowing install from unverified source (or whatever the verbage is to that effect). No guarantee that it will integrate with the BB Hub, but it will be a native Facebook app instead of the web app. Note: I have a Z30 and don't use either of these apps, but I use the Android version of Line (downloaded the APK from 3rd party website). Used the method described for installing the Line application.

  • I have been using Blackberry for more than 8years now,but my vassion looks old such that I can't replace it due to luck of suppliers at the retailer's shop and no one can take me out of this brandy type, can it be possible to have varieties of Bberry in my coutry Kenya?

  • i agree lg is 1 of the best, i can it in the G3, bt the G5, it luks lyk an alien to meh, n the small 5.3 screen? n stl the same resolution as the G3. n im typing on my beautifull blackberry priv.

  • **** you Lg is the best

  • shame lg g5 dragged down by frwnds, the priv stands out frm the rest. my g3 luks far beta thn the g5 wtf....!!!

  • You don't need a dedicated camera key when you can use the keyboard to take pictures

  • What is this best of one mobile? No hanging .no heating display performance

  • I got updates through google play for blackberry apps and my heating up issue was fixed. It does heat up a little when on it for a long time, doing at lot of different tasks. However I haven't had it heat up like it was before, when I first got it. Now even being charged it stays cool, even when I am using!

  • 18 MP camera without a dedicated camera key..very poor..

  • agree

  • Yes that will happen if you are using your grandpas BB.

  • apple is way better than blackberry if you are gonna go for an expensive legit phone. for me id rather buy a samsung or an apple.

  • That will depend on your carrier, and what they allow. AT&T does, but Verizon doesn't.

  • Absolutely agree with you.

  • I am samsung user with latest models in hand. But this phone is special because it is a summation of the modern tech, thou not the latest. It has more than sufficient processing power for mail, apps and games, even I get the latest specs, I feel the returns are not significant. This phone as a curved amoled with screen brilliance of latest android, and I can fully enjoy the screen with slide

  • hi.. recently i got bb priv.phone running well but only the isue is it's getting over heat.is there any solution to solve this plss help me.. thanq

  • Blackberry does get slower over time if you dont do a soft ware upgrade all the time !!!!

  • How I wish blackberry will make dual SIM of this model. Thanks

  • HI I think blackberry is better cuz samsung gets much slower in time but blackberry doesn't.

  • This is a really good phone, the price is very high and the front camera is below the quality expected for this flagship level phone, but it is a BlackBerry which runs on Android which is amazing in itself. The screen is just awesome, and though I buy Blackberry for their security and also the physical keyboard, the virtual keyboard is SO good that my friends with Apple and Samsung phones download the Blackberry virtual keyboard as it is admittedly the BEST. Also, Blackberry is keeping up with its promises to make changes and patches/updates to the software vs. many phones which after a release will take months to do so, or they never even do it at all. This has been something that PRIV users are really liking that the software team at Blackberry is really supporting the PRIV. Things will get even better for this phone once Marshmellow is released for it, as Lollipop 5.1 is an older OS that the PRIV ships with. The hardware is really great, quality built and feels good in hand, it is genuine Blackberry quality. So once they slowly get these phones into the users hands and get more feedback, the updates to the camera software, phone software, app software, will just keep tweaking this phone to perform better and better. I could not decide between Apple and Samsung before to replace my BlackBerry Q10, but it seems the PRIV is the best of all worlds. It runs Android, it is BlackBerry hardware, and I can feel that it is a secure device to use as government agencies, medical, political enterprises are still all using Blackberry for secure phones. I guess people just don't care really about privacy anymore or phones getting hacked, but when we begin to adopt this attitude, then you may as well leave your front doors unlocked and your keys in your car. Our data is extremely vital and important.. you see entities like Google and Facebook just harvesting our information so they can resell it to advertisers, and law enforcement use the same data as well as government to build a profile on you. For that reason, it makes sense to have a secure phone. I don't care if Blackberry users are a dying breed, this is still very good hardware but again, just the price is the main issue. If Blackberry released this phone in the $499-599 range, they would have killed it for real. But because of the price, people hesitate. Now they've expanded to 4 more countries (34 total) and Verizon has picked them up, sales numbers should increase nicely. Reviews from purchasers all seem quite positive, so read some and check out this phone.

  • The Canucks still got a long way to go to before being able enough to compete against Apple and Motorola.

  • iPhone 6s. Nothing else

  • The Priv....... It's a good phone. Maybe priced a bit 2 expensive, and could be the last of BlackBerry. I just ordered mine :) Performance it's a mid-to high level phone, but it has a very cool keyboard. Worst case you have 52 shortcust, and a touchpad if you don't like the physical keyboard. Most secure Android.

  • I just received the Priv, Is it possible to send and recive emails while on the phone ?

  • Did u get snapchat installed on passport?

  • You can just use the android version if you have a problem. I have playstore on my passport btw.

  • Hi everyone I am using blackberry priv it's good looking beautiful design fast software performance And in my opinion it's right choice

  • @philip: hi philip, I have been using BlackBerry passport since 2 months ago, I love this hh. Make me save from cyber crime. If you cant download any playstore aplication, you may look or download the update in crackberry websiter. There are many solution for your passport.

  • I love my phone. It gives me the edge I need as a Marketer. I have used the iPhones and they simply stink.

  • I have a Passport and LOVE it. Wife has a Z10. The Z10 is getting old. Any suggestions what to get for her? PRIV or something else? We need our phones to work well for business. BB10 is fantastic, but it looks like a lot of support for it is disappearing. For example, FB is gone now. I tried the apk through 1mobilemarket. It does not work! Thoughts?

  • Call end option available..... But phone is good for nothing

  • root it if you want to get 6.0 if it isnt possible, im not sure how to root blackberry priv cause this is the first blackberry to run android

  • yes, maybe upgradable to Window Phone! The new way of BB OS!

  • not yet

  • is the OS upgratable ? from android 5.1.1 to 6.0 ?

  • Hi everyone, I am planning to shift from Note 4 to Blackberry Priv. Can someone please tell me how is the battery life as compared to note 4 and is there any option to answer and end calls using the slider ? Thanks,

  • Q.) Not being a PRIV owner, and the closest telco stores are 100km away... Want to ask a question to a PRIV owner. The keyboard doubling as a keypad; Do you simply slide your finger around on it to move the cursor? I am new to iOS devices, and had major issues when creating documents' I couldn't easily move the cursor. Then I found out if I put two fingers on the onscreen keyboard I could use it as a trackpad. I find the onscreen keyboard 'usable' now. I was sooo excited when I heard a new keyboard phone was coming to market. My last keyboard phone was a TouchPRO 2 (by HTC). (Ran WinMobile, had a single core processor and had paltry RAM, but the keyboard was sooo good. My SMSs' were the best they had ever been. Bit like my rants here I suppose....) Anyhow I have been considering retiring a Note Edge. Giving up the Stylus is a hard decision to come to. I know that a keyboard is vastly more practical for my workflow, but without having the precision of the stylus for onscreen selection, knowing a little bit more about how the 'trackpad' works would be great...

  • BlackBerry priv o samsung s7? Which one is better?

  • Convert your current blackberry to android in less than $100. You have blackberry bold, Q10, Z10 or Z30 and need android apps. No need to buy any android phone or iphone. Just buy Andriod tablet with only wifi connection. Blackberry phone are best to use for work place throughout day. After work, turn your blackberry hotspot on and pair with any android tablet priced within $100. You can use all the apps and enjoy life. Also screen may be 7 inch to 10 inch and you can enjoy better. So you are comfortable both at work place using blackberry and appear sober. Also you can enjoy android tablet with all the apps. Enjoy…….

  • Do you have interest to sale over ? I need this. :)

  • I have passport since 4 month, it was able to download most of Android Apps and is working perfectly except voice and video calling in messenger, what is interesting that it operates two whatsapp in a very smooth manner, one of BB world and the other from APKtrain, so dont't worry about whatsapp announcement of not supporting BB 10.

  • im running dual whatsap (from whatsapp directly with no google playstore) and also from bbw. and I confirm it can work. Im using z10

Enjoy…….

  • One of best mobiles I have owned I perfered it on Iphone 6s but the battery life need to be better

  • in my opinion blackberry is done. samsung is the future of smartphones

  • I DISAGREE!!! As long as bb10 is running its part-time android, whatsapp.apk update will work. Even is they discontinue the whatsapp.bar in the appworld.

  • lol

  • Whatsapp announced a few weeks ago that they will not be supporting BB10 after 31 December 2016. Will this be the death knell of BB?. I use a BB Passport and is unsure if I should finally dump BB for a Samsung S7. I have been using BB for 15 years and love the Keyboard . I already have problems with my Passport for not being able to download "Google Play". Love to hear comments

  • my z30 was the best phone I ever used much better than s4 I used previously. Never lags, better battery and camara.

  • Returning it immediately. Can't transfer from Q10, email sending keeps dropping, and NO privacy as advertised. Google runs the phone. Try not agreeing to the Google Privacy statements and nothing works. Going back to OS 10.

  • Sure this phone is way too expensive, but i tell u bbpriv has a good camera over GALAXY S7edge and SONY Z5. nothing else to compare cos S7edge and Z5, has latest better faster qualcomm processor's for GAMING. better glass, dust prove, water resistance, etc...

  • I disagree, I like the native BB OS on Q10, the app support is sufficient, I love the minimalistic design as well as the performance.

  • I think the same as you, Blackberry has to release an update for all BB10 phones that switches the phones to Android.

  • i think for the price of bbpriv we can get S7 edge. So not much to say about adroid for Z10 or Q10 or other

  • Sure BB should get all phones on android 6.0

  • this phone is superb, now runs native apps. I think Blackberry should release android rom for Z10 Z30, Q10, passport etc... Am a Tech guy, what do you guys think?

  • ddn't say the priv is best in specs BT the best in design. a beautifull smooth slide up smartphne.

  • In the UK the price came already down (- £150). On Ebay UK you get an unlocked priv for around £430. Was £580. I'm not sure wether Blackberry lowered the price or the sellers want to get rid of them. This was foreseeable. Imagine, Apple would announce that they don't do iOS anymore because Android is better. This would be seen as declaration of technological bankruptsy. Imo, it was a wrong move to switch to Android. They should work hardly on the mighty BBOS.

  • I think this is a great phone! It's beautifully designed. The physical keyboard is just fantastic.

  • i like the blackberry for the most part love the keyboard but the battery life is no good and makes the phone useless!!!!!!!!

  • What a Joke? What have you guys been smoking? You dugged your own graves and now you say you can beat Samsung or Apple with the Priv? Dream on Dudes.....

  • I think this phone is over priced as well as the samsung s7 is about to be launched and the iphone 7 is around the corner maybe blackberry could think about the price but all in all this phone is fantastic

  • not worth buying.. over priced

  • its time for the price get some hard cutes . BB should price this phone at $500, before it get on the market ip7 or S7.

  • tee bnactry life is good you should update your phone and all apps first.i had galaxy note 4before and the prive patry is as good as

  • overpriced

  • I downloaded a gallery n a file manager from Google play. n good I mus say it's wrkn smoothly. the priv is a nice phone n the keyboard is hidden, the priv ain't the best in specs BT it's the best in its design. all Samsung n those A9 luks all the same, all those Sony experias n compacts luks the same. n the priv u can let stand upryt on a flat surface. the priv gets the job done well

  • March Security updates gets pushed to PRIV today.

  • With that gpu and cpu i wouldn't waste my money haha

  • k thx 4 the wrning ill get iphone instead

  • I have a problem to delete photos on the priv It says to go to gallery but it has no gallery! When taking a photo sometimes it takes 5 in a row and sometimes only one. although I press it with one press!

  • Ha no spelling errors in your post either. Proof?

  • it's the best phone Cox it's stands out from d rest... I'm quite satisfied wit the hexa 808 chipset ,n adreno 418 and asphalt 8 plays brilliant on d priv

  • shut up and take my money

  • This phone is revolutionary and will easily compare and beat the samsung galaxy s6 edge. The blackberry features innovative technology which will see the phone get regular updates! #TeamBlackberry

  • I think that this is a desperate move to try and save the Blackberry sinking ship by moving over to Android, this phone should have at least been Octicore, not bad specs but seriously dual core models, sorry Blackberry I will rather stick to the competition LG, Samsung or Huawei. Wonder what Nokia has up their sleeve since they failed miserably by siding with Microsoft windows phones bad idea.

  • I love this! i think its about time Blackberry came out with something else! #teamblackberry

  • every thing half that is the problem

  • blackberry finish

  • Your wrong samsung and iphone is done black berry is back to change every thing. Whats better than a half android and half IOS

  • blackberry is done. samsung is the future

  • We, Vietnamese, need a keyboard with Vietnamese language. It's very long time that PRIV has been in Vietnam and now we need Vietnamese keyboard

  • It's rare dude

  • That's the reason why lots of people lote BB dude!

  • I think blackberry company don't focus on size of their device I wish to Look at this matter

  • For that you have plenty of choice with the other 682.972 android OEM's. BlackBerry and qwerty keyboards can't be separated.

  • Dude it's an android phone, you ll find a thousand app that can edit documents

  • The major problem with BB is most of the Apps are compatible only with Android or IOS...

  • blackberry sucks. more innovation please. please get rid of the qwerty thing for gods sake

  • Does not it have a document editor? Only viewer is written here. Do anybody have any idea, how it's possible to edit documents on this phone? Or I have no chances? :) I wonder, why all good phones always have at least one detail, which makes you not to consider it the best one and not to buy it?.. This phone is the best one for business people, because they have to write a lot and therefor, sure, this keyboard is very convenient for it. And at the same time, it doesn't have document editor! What will one type on this "convenient" keyboard, I wonder? :) Only sms and mail? Was it so difficult to understand, that editing documents would be in a high demand for potential buyers of this phone? :) The same story with Samsung galaxy A 9. It has a large screen (6 inches) and good specifications, what is very important and convenient for people, who need to work on documents, because you can see your doc on large screen much better. But NO! :) It doesn't have a document editor as well! :) The same story for computer mouses - one can find lots of them for gaming, but never for office programs. You just have to modify a gaming mouse for office work and assign it's buttons for office tasks, but even this isn't possible with all models of gaming mouses. Nobody thinks about business people, who need the Technic for work, not for entertainment only... :)

  • for me it matters .

  • I dont want to turn off all sensors !

  • The battary is being consumed and drained very quickly..any advice or tips?

  • if it were body to screen ratio near 90% and octa core 2 GHz+quad core 2 GHz, 4 GB ram & front facing above 5 MP, it could've best android device ever...

  • 3140 Mah Talk can get you 23.9 Hours Standby 17 Hours Music 72.7 Hours

  • After I removed the 4 tmobile bloatware apps, battery lasts 1.5 days with moderate use. If I run google maps and mapquest for 8 hours and a bit of other web stuff, I need to charge it at end of the day.

  • What is the Life span of the sealed battery?

  • As long as it can install different types of apps am happy but let's say Shareit apk file kick Bluetooth off

  • good -battery,good life ,batter camera, brillent net experinc is nothing but known as blackberry

  • battery Life is good on me. No issues . For now i put it back to my closet. but i am happy with experience. total good experience. just FINGER PRINT is issue. for me.

  • Yeah I know ,, i have fingers too.. i need it badly as well

  • Passport is better :)

  • Ok, first time ever blackberry user with the priv (my friend responded "Oh, I didn't know this was 2005," when I relayed how I purchased a blackberry). A few things, I'm not going to compare the android experience to the Blackberry OS experience because as I said, never used BB's OS, so unfair to compare... As for it running on android, it runs very well. Now, it definitely lags at times, but not very noticeable. But people need to understand the company just transitioned into an entire new operating system. For the first time, it runs damn well. I bought the phone fully expecting lags and minor issues (especially at the release), but all in all (and keeping expectations within reason if it being a first time android for BlackBerry,it runs very well. Ok, another thing I want to point out is durability. Yes, BlackBerry is known for this, but despite seeming to have a more fragile screen and overall premium feel, I've dropped it (w/o case onto hard tile floor and literally NOT one scratch; I can tell you now, if I had dropped an iPhone from the height the BlackBerry was at, not only would I guarantee atleast a Crack, good chance it doesn't make it without a screen shatter). So, while I was nervous at first, I was rest assured quickly that BlackBerry still knows what they're doing when putting a handset together. Next, battery life. I'm having a real time hard with this. Obviously it depends on how much you use the phone during each specific day, but I still can't give an accurate assessment of the priv battery life after owning it for around 3 months now. There are times where it gets through the day and even into the next morning; but then there are days where it's just about dead by 8/9pm. So obviously usage and what apps are downloaded are the key factors. Overall though, the priv (on average) usually gets through the day and starts running low on juice probably right before bed. The keyboard. Do I really need to say anything? It's a Blackberry Physical keyboard. For the few that don't understand what I'm getting at... You won't find a better keyboard on any other phone. And if you just can't see yourself going back to the physical keyboard after years of touchscreens, the priv offers a pretty damn good touchscreen keyboard too. But honestly, the biggest reasons I moved to blackberry is their famous physical keyboard and the DEATH OF AUTOCORRECT, and in that regard, it delivers above and beyond. Blackberry also does a great job of integrating their apps from BlackBerry OS into Android (BBM, the hub, security, etc.). Overall, this phone doesn't disappoint, and if you are deadset on getting a blackberry, the priv is an easy choice. I've already rambled long enough, so I'll let you guys just contemplate the text above. (I could easily go on, but unlike me, most people have lives, so I'll end here).

  • Turn off all the sensors, then see the battery life. It works good.

  • you are wrong ....battery dosnt matter .....the battery which they are giving its good..

  • i m fan of blackberry's phone.....m also using bb 9800....and bb curve....both r good phone...and when i saw bb priv..its realy amazing phone......if i talk about my phone's camera quelety its batter than another phones....its just 5Mp...nd its batter than all another phone who have 8Mp camera...........so i will give ******* 7 star to blackberry. keep growing and make us happy with your amazing phones...

  • The snapdragon 808 is the reason . They chosen bad CPU . Snapdragon 820 and 808 are both bad in battery life . look at Microsoft 950/XL battery life a disaster as well and they are using the same cpu

  • here you go keep scrolling down :P

  • the batery is a shame.. I am BB lover .. I used almost all models . one better than the other, but the battery of the BB Priv is really bad... I am thinking to return to the Passport

  • Really? My Priv battery life incredibke.

  • Yes it can run all these apps cause it's android! Also I have the z10 and I have viber and skype and tango

  • I want to actually take up this phone and at the moment i have a 9900 bold and just wanted to know if the screen and buttons will be difficult for me to adapt to because i did previously have a blackberry z3 and the screen got cracked after just one fall

  • In my personal opinion it is, the only phone that comes close with close to equivalent specs is the Z5 but the difference is that I'm using my Priv more often than any phone I've previously used and still getting good battery life, Prehaps it's just me, I would however like to know if you have both owned and used the phone for more than a week? It's possible I just happen to have unusual usage patterns

  • how did you change the battery life??

  • Are you Serious? Dezeer!!!!

  • for example I would never listen to radio on a phone, just my own mp3's. So it is not crucial for everyone.

  • battery life is NOT incredible ! this is the main disadvantage of this phone.

  • Still my number one choice after 3 month's

  • great phone nice from blackberry but no radio, many users will still stick with their usual brands I think

  • Now that it's given oxygen go BB to survive, nxt 820 soc should be launched, price is too exorbitant, not because it's used as a hammer, or else it's smells perfume. It's 500% profit, think of time when going bankrupt than minimizing profits, like Chinese.

  • how can this even be read without laughing. you like china?

  • just wish this has finger print scanner on it. shame. it is so necessary for me.

  • Where do I start... currently typing this on my own personal blackberry priv and it is hands down the best overall smartphone I've used in the past two years, I have owned the Xperia Z, Xperia Z5, iPhone 5s, Samsung Galaxy S6 edge, Huawei Honor 6, Huawei P8, LG G4, BlackBerry Leap and the Cubot x9,and although some of the phones I have just mentioned are great none of them match the priv, battery life is incredible, camera is on level with the LG G4 and S6 Edge, the screen is very very nice and after the initial update the phone flys through everything, it's got a unique picture unlock which I love and it's not cumbersome either, overall this in my opinion is the phone of the year for 2015 and although expensive it's worth every penny

  • What it costs

  • had the priv love it runs fine and since the update battery seems to get me close to 2 days only con it does get warm but nothing major love it

  • Great phone. No issues at all with the battery. You need to let the phone settle a couple of days before saying that the battery is not good.

  • is bb priv can be use with skype, tango & viper?? coz, i have z10 and it cannot..

  • Well no battery life, it gets hot and camera ugh I not satisfied wth the price

  • Front camera is not that bad .

  • am thinking of getting this as my first blackberry is it worth. What phone could you compare it to?

  • I sold mine, just for the reason of short battery life. And front camera not that good as i took everyday selfie on snapchat. But priv is a very nice phone..now i got galaxy a7 2016

  • You can't. BlackBerry Z30 is BlackBerry 10 OS, while Prive is BlackBerry Android OS. It is different. If you like BlackBerry that run OS Android, then BlackBerry Priv is your choice.

  • I have priv.this phone is worst of money.front camera I I Iike china.

  • Can we restore all data from iPhone 6 plus to the priv?? I have heard that some apps crash suddenly on this phone... Is that how it is?? Is this just a software update that it requires and that's it... Users advice

  • With all other things just fine, I would love to buy it if it did good in performance area.

  • You can restore across different OS.

  • Can i restore my backup from BB Q10 into BB Priv?

  • Does anyone know if the Blackberry PRIV is compatible with either the Microsoft watch or Garmin?

  • sure

  • yes its running andriod software

  • yes its running andriod software

  • I hope rim optimize the android for the battery and performance. Just like what apple do.

  • i just got the new blackberry svt100 last night and the phone died and now i charged it and it wont turn back on. this is ridiculous. how do i get the phone to turn back on? [email protected]

  • This phone is too big and heavy, 4.7" screen and lighter would be much preferable.

  • does it support clash of clan

  • The Priv comes in 6 variants. You can use the following device models with Qi and Power Matters Alliance (PMA) wireless chargers: • PRIV by BlackBerry STV100-1 , STV100-2 & STV100-5 smartphones STV100-3,4 & 6 do not support Wireless charging

  • specs are low as compare to the price not intrested

  • No

  • I used z30.can I upgrade too Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop)

  • The phone is good and the price is right yeah man the runnings are good whoo hoo!!!!1

  • Activating the adaptive brightness in the display settings can make the battery last more than 10hours for me. Just discovered it last two days. No more short battery life..nice

  • It's probably just the signalling specification it supports. You could build a 2TB microSD, just like you could build a 100TB harddrive.

  • Microdia crams 512GB into a microSD card, out in July 2015

  • Love to buy it...bb always have a unique style

  • dont comment if u dont know max capacity microsd card available is 200GB how will u put something which doesnt exist(2TB microsd card)

  • 3 months in. Best device out

  • dude how can u excited ? it's offered price is 63k........

  • Launched in India today.Very excited

  • Expandable memory via hot swappable microSD memory card (Up to 2TB) not 200 GB its 2000GB

  • I have never used a blackberry in my cell life but this one just bought me in. This will be my phone of the moment #noturningback

  • Thanks for review.its helpful. I am planning to but this, as its a unique phone with a beautiful keypad.

  • Em using BlackBerry leap frm last four months, itz damn gud then other touch phones of BlackBerry till now I used,,i thk priv is going to rock world#touch n type

  • You will have problem of battery in note too, iPhone can be good for battery but then again iPhone 6 and 6s looks yuks in fact bb priv looks the coolest and steals d show

  • I think that's becoz they lagged behind in terms of apps... all in all it can never be the same android done.... they have bb hub and bb protect...priv stud be bud at least reviews suggest that

  • I love bb that's why I still have my bb classic and bb z30. I also have the z10 and the beast bb passport before. Bb10 os is the great os for me. Jst the lack of applications is the downside. I hope that bb will release a passport with Android os.

  • I live kuwait and I've using this device for a month now. Overall it's a great device. I love using the physical keyboard and love using unique phones like the priv. The only things I hate about this phone is the battery life. It can only get me about 4hours of screen on time to 5 hours . that's why I always bring battery backup. Maybe by next month I will change it to note5 or maybe the a7 2016 or iphone6 plus coz of battery. Priv is a very unique phone just the down side is the battery. Maybe it's the quad HD that's killing it fast. How I wish they just put full HD screen to this device then it will be awesome.

  • I'm using bb bold 5 with q10 recently. Am just one of a fan of bb, android is also good in its own. Buh now you,ve compiled android software into the bb now. More grease to your elbow .

  • I am using BB8520 to BB BOLD TO BBQ10 from last 4 years now. Happy enough with performance. What is the date of release for BB PRIVE in india. Some clear me this please....

  • bb is a really great phone.the thing is that putting the android sofeware on the phone was a terrible decision.now it is like and other android phone and it has lost its uniqueness.

  • I am currently using BB Z10 and satisfied and i have been a royal user to this devices for couple years now, i had a galaxy note 4 but decided to give it to my dad because i real hate android stuffs, but i wonder how could bb put it on their list!!!! i am so disappointed, they only had to put android apps on bb world but not changing the entire OS...

  • Thanks Steeve, could you please tell which of the two has better screen for viewing in sunlight

  • I have both IPhone 6S and BlackBerry Priv , been used it both for a couple days, and for me in camera BlackBerry far more superior...battery? If you put all notification on, IPhone 6S is much better....that's all other thing I haven't test it

  • That which model priv stv100-1 or stv100-3 ?

  • SAR info ?

  • Back side is very poor built

  • tried it, very handy

  • Coming to Vodacom stores in South Africa by 7th Feb 2016

  • It is awesome phone but make for us the use BlackBerry 10os.

  • really nice phone.. cool in-built space and ram love it's camera quality and OS lollipop also it's edge screen but the only thing that's not too modern about it is the slide although it's quite slim and palm size #awesome blackberry

  • of course classic Q20

  • Hi there. I am still using my BB curve 9300 3G till now ^^ . Although fall many times, nothing happen to its body and the OS. I am also using Note 10.1 as my need for android tablet. I really like this innovation from blackberry, Finally put the android inside. As a loyal user, I completely understand how hard this time for blackberry. I always hope some android phone put keyboard physically, but only Blackberry who listen hahahaha... unfortunately, the price is too expensive, they should also produce low end price.

  • Blackberry aligned in the business world which make it top-of-the-line. Agree with others that you should have the trademark in most businesses. Understood that you want to align with others. However, i cannot believed that you put things on a teens level. I really like how it used to be the classic version and steady on where we are. Since i start using BB, i am really proud of having one until now but not to have the Android inside one..

  • I do agree, android is just a cartoon phone. No matter which OS version of android or the phone type, the inside is just the same- suits for kids. BB is the best so far, especially the BB OS10 lineups.
