  • ebay - Blu Dash 4.5 hard case cover Much better than silicone and only about $5

  • Addendum: I emailed BLU about being unable to use the unused 1.2GB of "phone" memory for apps while the 1GB of "internal memory" was too full (70 MB empty) to install or even update apps. This is what they emailed back: "Unfortunately most apps now cannot be moved to the SD card as Android and the developers of the applications have not allowed it. There is no way you can remove the stock apps that come with the device you can choose not to update them but will not be able to remove the app completely. This phone is separated into different increments in order to increase efficiency on the hard drive. The internal storage is for applications and the Phone storage is for media files. It seems you do require more than the 4 GB this device does come with. We recommend you look into a device with one drive solution or more storage space. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused." Should THIS information not have been included in the spec sheet? So instead of 4GB + 32GB(optional) storage for apps/data/whatever I want, I get ONE GIGABYTE of storage for apps and that's all? This seems misleading if not actually dishonest.

  • The first time I had that problem I asked BLU for help. They advised a backup and factory reset. I did that, which is a monumental nuisance due to all the app-configuration that has to be re-done. I'm in that situation again, but my solution now is to use 1MobileMarket instead of the play store to download/install/update FREE apps. I'm right on the bleeding edge space-wise. No idea why deleting apps and freeing up more space than an update or new download could possibly use doesn't work, and google has never been of any help at all with actual problems like this. "Do only a little evil", I guess.

  • I've had mine for a year and 3 months. Out of the box the camera wouldn't focus at a distance (replaced under warranty 10 months later) and the GPS was flaky, yielding frequently hilarious tracks -- both units were similarly inadequate. The most annoying problem I've found is that BLU calls part of its internal memory "sdcard". Accordingly, you think that you're writing to your actual external sdcard (which is really known as /storage/sdcard1 or /sdcard1) but are in reality writing to a SMALL chunk (1 GB) of the 4GB of internal memory. The remainder of the 4GB is known as "phone" memory and for some reason can NOT be used for many apps and their data. At this point I have only 70 MB of "sdcard" memory left, precluding me from installing or even updating apps, while I have 1.20GB of "phone memory" unused and apparently unusable. Apps can not be run from the external sdcard, but this is standard for android. I confess I was ignorant of the storage problems, which may be due wholly to android operations and not specific to BLU, before buying this, my first smartphone. Had I known how inadequate 4GB of storage is (adding a 32GB external sdcard is NOT a substitute for internal memory -- you can use the external card only for data -- files, photos, music, etc.) I would have splurged on a 16GB, or perhaps even 32GB phone. I might even consider other BLU phones, but I have no reason to believe that their GPS performance would be any better. (It may be noted that my Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Samsung tablet's GPS performance is vastly superior and has convinced me that my next phone should be a Samsung.) The rest of the phone is perfectly acceptable, with the caveat that the camera could be a lot better, but I want my phone to be a pocket-size computer capable of doing computer-like functions away from home without needing wifi or cell connection. C-.

  • Does anybody have the experience like I have with the Blu 4.5. Battery does not last for a day,I have to charge it all the time. I charged it last night before I went to bed but when I tried to turn the phone this morning the battery is dead. I am currently charging now for over 5 hours but if I try to see if it is charged the phone either shows that the battery is charging or the battery is completely green which means it's full. The screen is completely black aside from the battery picture in the middle. Anybody knows how to solve this problem?

  • how to find internet connectivity

  • how do u fix the sensitivity

  • How 2 flash it

  • Put the sim card in the other slot your phone has 2 sim card slots I had the same problem I found it out by assident

  • How to change the Device language in Germany (Deutsche)?

  • How do you fix the sensitivity

  • Now for those who are complaining about not getting to store apps and other stuff to the SD card of this phone, please do it through your PC with a USB cable. And instead of relying on Play Store to get apps, goggled them online (apk files) and download them to your PC then to your phone.

  • me too :/

  • I have a memory card and my apps and photos not storing on my memory card now my phone memory is full and no matter how much I delete it still saying the phone full

  • Hello if u pull down the notification menu when that pops up. Just clear it from the notification menu

  • y is it every time i open a compass app on my blu 5.0 it say sensor not found

  • if u need to save an app to sd just the back-up app and its done.I did it thousands of times and you dont need to download any other apps for that.

  • Go to playstore and get the app manager. It will allow you to save the apps to SD card.

  • cant save any apps to sd card why ??? how can i fix this??

  • How do I get 3G service on my blu advance 4.5 phone? Is quite frustrating. I am only getting Edge (E)signal I get. Ama.

  • I've had this phone for two weeks now. Admittedly I'm a bit clumsy, but the screen cracked after a single fall from my couch. Even before the drop I wasn't able to use any of the apps I downloaded. (currently going through 'dumb ways to die' withdrawal) The app opens then returns to the precious screen. It hasn't been dropped again, but over the past few days texts have come in several hours late and 8 out of 10 calls are dropped. The only feature that works properly on this product is the voice-to-text.

  • I am very happy with this phone. It totally works for me. I have installed many apps and games and it does not crash. There is only one thing I don't like. If I am using just 1 Sim Card, why will the sim card 2 symbol still appearing at the top of the screen? Is there any way to hide it or disable it or something? Thanks in advance.

  • I like how fast and responsive this phone is especially with a quad core processor.Internet browsing and other tasks move smoothly with hardly any lag. And the quality is perfect. However with the phone relying on 512MB RAM and internal storage without acknowledging the SD memory card present, it cause some games or apps with large space e.g. angry birds rio, to close immediately when opening. Battery life is a bit mediocre although at one time it would go down faster but at least its charging faster as well.

  • The phone is fine with 4.5" screen, auto focus camera 5MP with LED flash but I am not happy with the battery life. The battery drain very fast even though it using quite large battery capacity of 2000mAh. This is very frustrating and it upset me. Furthermore the touch screen sometime not functioning properly, you have to keep on tapping the screen to enter text. The touch sensitivity of the screen is bad. The phone back casing feels very cheap and the power button feels fragile and easily broke. In short no point using a smartphone if the battery drain fast. I think the cheap Lenovo A269i battery last longer compare to BLU Dash 4.5 battery.

  • Great bang for your Buck :) easily rooted, CWM And TWRP are available i'm working on a few roms for this device atm recieves 4g (HSPDA) on t-mobile (D310a) fgeels a bit cheap in your hand but very solid hardware

  • i cant used 3g net in blu desh 4.5 please help me.

  • You should be able to go tap the menu button> System Settings> scoll down and select Security> Then scroll down and select Clear credentials. This will now enable you to set what ever settings you like. Hope it works for you, it worked for me.

  • Hey would you recommend buying one of these phones on planning on buying one tomorrow, thanks Johnny.

  • I still need to know how to take the lock pattern off my blu 4.5

  • I got it and at any given time I got 200md free maybe you are running app in background

  • What size sim card for tmobil. They keep sending me i phone sims. And They are too big.

  • Hold down the volume button and the power but for 2 seconds

  • Hold down the volume button and the power but for 2 seconds

  • How do you screenshot on this device?

  • Absolutely love the phone, but how do you resize pics?

  • The manual is very poor and it is necessary edit a good one. One question: I have changed the screen lock and put a pattern, now I should like to go back to the original "slider" setting and I encounter this advise: None: Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credencial storage Slider: the same tning; Voice unlock: the same thing. Can You explain me how to go to te original setting ? It is possible to do speed call ? Thanks for any any answer.

  • HSDPA 850 / 1900 - D310a SIM-1 Only.. Confirmated

  • I found all i did was match the sims cards to the shape and #2 lays flat in the phone and was upside down... by that the metal foil microchip thingy was facing towards me on the sims card.# 1 sims( the slower slot) is writing on the sims card towards me... and also the input slot was slightly elevated away from the battery compartment.

  • what type of sims does it use stander micro or nano?

  • There is a difference between SIM1 and SIM2 on this phone. Behind the phone, it says GSM&CDMA against SIM1 and GSM (Only) against SIM2. Not sure how it affects anyone, but I have noticed these functional quirks. - Using a Vodafone SIM card from India in USA:- On SIM1, available networks are listed as "AT&T 3G", "AT&T 2G" and "T-Mobile 2G". It doesn't connect to "T-Mobile 2G". It connects to "AT&T 2G", but then rolls over to "AT&T 3G" which works fine (can make/receive calls). On SIM2, available networks are listed as "AT&T" & "T-Mobile". It connects only to AT&T, but can't receive or make call. It doesn't even connect to T-Mobile. Says "Registering...." and aborts after a while. Can someone explain to me this difference in behavior between SIM1 and SIM2? This kind of behavior difference was not mentioned anywhere in the specs. Blu does a very bad job of explaining the features/specs of their different versions of the same model. - Using a T-Mobile micro SIM card in USA. On SIM1, it connects fine, but the data speed is way too slow. It must be using 2G. On SIM2, I could test it because I didn't feel comfortable putting the micro SIM card in because of how the slots are positioned. I will be testing these SIM cards in India during my next visit.

  • Does ramexpander shows noticeable improvement in performance and memory?

  • When you used Framaroot, was it successful for your BLU Dash 4.5 ? Also, was RAMEXPANDER successful ?

  • Does this have a real gps chip or JUST A-GPS, there is a big difference if you are lost with no 'cell' tower.

  • hello anyone here found that BLU Dash 4.5 custom rom or twrp or cwm... or any of kind tweaking ... please..

  • Hi i use a simple app to root this device, search for FRAMAROOT in google. For swap i use RAMEXPANDER I hope helped you

  • How do you insert the sim cards? Would really appreciate a response. Thanks.

  • 1/5 stars. Could be a great phone for a great price. Would be 5/5 stars if it had more RAM, an android 4.3 update (from 4.2.1) and didn't kill apps on a whim. I would gladly add money for more RAM and a better OS configuration. Key pointers The cons: 1. Can't multi-task e.g. when you switch between GPS app and phone app (make/answer a call), GPS app shuts down or if you try to call a number from a website, then try to return to the site to get the end of the number (no option to call on long click) then you have to reload site and reenter any user input you need to get to that page. This is probably due to the system app MTK Thermal Manager, but I can't uninstall it to check since the phone isn't rooted. Also, if the limitation was just the RAM, then memory paging would do the trick. 2. The browsers (built in browser, Chrome and Firefox) both crash often, I assume this is due to RAM limitation, since even when I don't have anything but the system running I am left with only 40MB-60MB RAM available. Other apps (Waze, keyboard!) also crash often too. 3. Exchange sync misses meetings, I assume this is due to older Android version. 4. It is really hard to get the back cover off (to install battery, SIM and SD card). The pros: 1. Call quality is great. 2. Camera quality is great. 3. Price. 4. Potentially dual SIM feature, although I haven't tested this yet. Update: I discovered the developer options (settings --> About phone --> click on build number (last item) multiple times) and tried increasing the number of background apps but that didn't help. If anyone has any info regarding fixing the RAM issue (e.g. how to root and install swap, how to root and change GPU memory allocation) or fixing the multitasking issues, please comment.

  • just buy the phone in July now the is no power contact from the cover. the phone can not be on. keep going off until i twist it.

  • Unlike the specs listed, this phone CANNOT connect to 802.11a networks; it has no 5ghz capability, so also cannot connect to 802.11n networks on that band. 2.4ghz only.

  • Can this phone used with instagram ?? How About oovooo as well >??

  • Got this phone for my wife, and she is enjoying it, But I can't find some type of protective silicone case for it.

  • Contrary to the specs listed above, the phone does not have a gyro sensor. Also, while it does have a a magnetic field sensor (Bosch BMM050), Blu support says "At this time the Dash 4.5s magnetic sensor does not work with any compass application." This has been my experience as well. Compass apps includes Google Sky Maps, which is dissappointing.

  • See here:

  • I can't root my blu dash 4.5 please HELP!!!

  • i dont get how the pone has sharp edges when the phone is clearly rounded off at all the edges,i'm lost, are you sure it's the same phone you're talking about dude

  • they are two different models,one model with 3g bands HSDPA 850 / 1900 - D310a and the other with 3g bands HSDPA 850 / 2100 - D310i. i have the D310i

  • I got this phone three days ago. Until now the experience with it has been largely positive. The device feels sturdy although it's not very comfortable to hold due to the sharp edges. Screen looks amazing with vibrant colors albeit reduced angle view. Performance is really snappy and experienced no lag at all. Antutu benchmark score was a bit over 14000. Battery life is decent, it lasted for around 24 hours 4 of those on web browsing and 2 playing light games (Angry Birds, etc). It would probably last days in standby mode. All in all this is an amazing device, extremely fast and lag-free, offering great features for an unbeatable low price, BUT the camera is CRAP. Although it's a 5 MP camera, pictures look as if they were shot with one of those old cellphones sporting a VGA camera: objects look blurry, especially far in the background, colors are inaccurate, pale and washed out and there's graininess overall. Also, flash is pretty weak. I don't know if I got a phone with a defective camera or it is a software issue but this discourages me from giving it 5 stars.

  • Blu-Dash 4.5 - 3G Spec says: HSDPA 850 / 1900 - D310a and HSDPA 850 / 2100 - D310i Could anyone help to understand if, D310a and D310i are two different phone models? or it represents 2 SIM specs with in one Blu-Dash 4.5 phone? Thanks,

  • got this phone on sunday, working great so far, love it

  • I've been using the blu 4.5 for two weeks and gotta say this phone is pretty awesome !

  • thanks alot for the info,i did contact blu and they sent me a sample pic and also a sample 720p video. I actually want to buy two of these one for my princess and one for me.so thanks for the info.

  • For the internet access you need to talk to AT&T to get the APN settings. Once the APN settings are set up you will be able to use the phone with AT&T with no issues.

  • The call quality is pretty good. I bought this phone for my mom and she has no complaints. My mom is that woman who is constantly on the phone talking to friends and family, and when I talk to her (which is almost everyday, what can I say I am a mommas boy lol) I never have had a complaint (other than she talks to much). I am sure if you contact BLU they will be able to send you some sample pictures. They helped me set up the phone for my mom. Here is their email address: [email protected]

  • Hey. Have you set up the APN settings on your phone, the reason I ask is because if the phone is constantly looking for the high speed data connection but can't find it (because the APN settings are not setup) it will drain the battery faster than it normally would. There is also a few other things you can do to conserve battery life such as regulating the brightness depending on how bright you need it for the area you are in. You should get in contact with BLU Products. Here is their email address: [email protected]

  • ok,let me know what call quality is like, for battery life check screen brightness and maybe turn of background data, this seems to drain battery quickly.

  • fast and the battery losses charge just as quickly, it's pretty bad. I noticed that yesterday, first time handling the phone after it got activated. So I'll have to do more tests and try to figure out what's going on with it later today.

  • i am looking to purchase two of these phone by month end or mid next month, how is the performance with regular day to day task not gaming? can anyone upload some camera samples please and tell me of issues you face with the phone currently, how is call quality and network signal

  • family member was told at At&T store that the phone had to be 'an At&T phone' so they didn't activate it for her, anywho so I will have to go with her next time.. If your phone drops down to 2G it could be the Carrier and their reception in that area. It will be awesome probably late next year once all of the Carriers have all of their towers set up to where you get continuous Fast speeds anywhere in the United States.

  • I was just playing around with my Dash 4.5 and was trying move applications from the phone storage to the SD card, and certain apps were able to transfer over such as "temple run" and "pandora" were able to transfer just fine. Now certain apps the device can not transfer over to the SD card because the system requires it to stay on the internal storage of the phone. I would contact [email protected] which is Blu's customer/technical support and get to the bottom of that. Other than that I love my new phone.:)

  • Just received mine a week ago and rooted it with eroot. one thing im noticing and im hoping its just my sd card, maybe someone can let me know. but you add extra storage the phone clearly sees it but writing to it as far as apps go is impossible unless done from a better file manager by cut and pasting. so literally im working with the phones built in storage. Ive tried using app2sd or rom toolbox and neither app can see the sd card as a card to move apps to. Reminds me of the old dell streak 5 and 7 they partitioned the cards weird. Has anyone come across this. Maybe a custom rom and recovery can fix this. let me know. If its a standing problem RRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNN from this phone.

  • Only received Blu Dash 4.5 this week, great for my first experience into Android. Bloody thing keeps dropping down to 2g ( assume 2g as network speed becomes dismal, can reset by manually selecting data network again, then I get 12 to 14 m). Hoping there is a patch for this. Testing tmobile at the moment

  • I agree the storage is quite low, but you can deal with it using a SD card; is good to get more internal memory but its a cheap device... The big deal here is that low RAM, I really doubt you can use apps properly if Jelly Bean uses most of its RAM, you will be able to use less than half of it

  • It's amazing phone, fast, slim, big screen and very cheap :)

  • Isn't it obvious that this phone needs more RAM and storage?

  • Looking good for a midrange, but needs more RAM...
