overall not a bad phone, but temperamental. Had several problems from the outset, Ring would go to silent and display timeout to 15 secs each and every night. As time wore on and I dropped it several times, first it was hard to get it to charge, the micro usb had to be just right. The last time it dropped it soon locked up and I had to remove the battery to reboot. After that it seemed to work ok for a short time, then touch screen refused to work. Even removing the battery failed to restore. In frustration I slapped the phone on my hand several times. Lo and behold it started working. Tech was no help the first time so I lived with it until my new phone came in (blu ENERGY x) Conclusion: I would have ought another Life Play 2 but the Energy X is a new model and hopefully will be better

I have a Blu Life Play for more than 2 years and I really love it. The only problem is the storage, which comes with only 900 MB of free space, but for the price I paid for it, I can't really complain. If you don't mind installing the apps through apk, then is a very nice phone.

I had a great experience with the BLU Life Play. No problem with charging or memory. It has a nice camera and very good as a telephone unit. The only problem was that it had very little space for apps, so after a year of heavy use I decided it was time to move on. I still use it as a backup when one of our phones needs repair.

So I've had the Blu Life Play 2 for 11 months and about a week ago the screen started shutting off. Up till then it's been a great device, worked smoothly , connected to WiFi seamlessly and ran all social media apps wonderfully. That is, up until a week ago. I've had this phone since it released. I never had any charging problems, but I did have memory problems, but not anymore. After rooting my device and putting a recovery on it, I just flashed a zip file that merged the two internal storages and now I have 2.4G of space on my phone plus a 32G SD card. I also can get a full 19 hours out it with no problem with amplify and some kernel tweaking. Personally I would highly recommend this phone. Its been good to me since 2013 and is still running wonderfully. 😁😁😁&#128­513;😁 I love it.

Charging port failed after 8 months. Returned under warranty. Blu replaced the phone. Only problem? The refurbished replacement ALSO refuses to charge. It's a good phone overall: but if it can't be charged, it doesn't matter, does it? Won't be buying another BLU product.

Had this phone for a year and for the price it wasn't too bad the memory was an issue though and both me and my sister had the same charging problems in which we had to by a universal charger that made the phone take 5 hours to charge which got very annoying. Camera was nice as well as the screen quality. Ran slow with multiple apparently open and running games wasn't tthat good either. The keyboard also didn't has emojis so I had to download on of the apparently store which took up the memory I needed for other things. If you want a cheap phone that will do the trick then this should work but if you want a good quality phone might want to look somewhere else.

Bought from Amazon on August 22, 2013 and within 6 months, the charging port was hosed. I mean, the dang cable feels loose and it wants to be @ an slight angle for the charging to commence. The USB connection is totally hit & miss now. More miss than hit. Next on the list: My phone's screen has a strange yellowish tint invading the right side and it's also starting to creep onto the left side as well. I ran JscreenFix for 24hrs hoping it was just fixable "screen retention" but this was a no go. The phone is not bad but the QA could use some work.

I had to pay 60 to have charging port fixed after two months of use then after two more months I have to put rubber bands on it to charge and most times it won't charge at all. I've been using external charger. Should've gotten insurance. Love phone but crappy charging port.

I had two BLU life play phone, and both on the hand charging problems, there´s something wrong with the USB connector of this phone, after 2 months of use, is really difficult to get it to charge at all, the first one the telephone company told me that it was because of a bad us of the cable.. (come on...) and the second one they admit of having problems with that particular model.. so I won´t recommend it

I have only had my blu vivo 4.8 for less than 2 months and it sucks !!! Its casing has warp it crashes almost every time I   pick it up & its slow not to mention its charging port is already malfunctioning; and for 279.00 + tax I have been ripped off big time. The simplest way to contact BLU is via their website. They are a smaller company but they are committed to assisting. I recommend emailing them in the future, and mentioning that you called. Other reviews on amazon cite BLU as being understanding and helpful when dealing with the charger issue.

This is the worst piece crap of a phone I've ever bought. Try viewing my gallery and each time I try to go on it kicks me right off. Remove clear cover on back...it doesn't move when button is pressed..I had the same issue..it just hold down ya power button sometimes...it needs to be more flexible....and if you tried to update and it failed...that does that to.

I have the same problem and I have written to BLU several times, and have not gotten any useful responses from them. Basically they made an artificial partition of the phone memory so the active area for apps is only 1GB which runs out of space easily.

I have enjoyed using this phone since acquiring it in April. Great quality screen & display. Good responsiveness and speed. OK battery performance. The main issue I have had is that I feel hoodwinked by BLU advertising the Life Play as having 4GB RAM. It has an artificial limit of 1GB RAM for apps, so I have had a miserable time with frequent low memory errors/warnings, even though I have removed most of the apps I would wish to use, because my emails take up a fair amount of space. The customer service from BLU has been LESS THAN HELPFUL - poor in fact. Many lower cost phones don't have this limitation. They allow users to benefit from all the memory in the phone to install and use apps. So this has been a big disappointment with this purchase

Ive had the same issue with my Blu Life. I also purchased mine in February but it stopped charging the next month. Luckily I brought insurance for it. I called them and they had no contact information for Blu. They then called Amazon whom also didn't have contact information for Blu. If I didn't have insurance Id be outta pocket. Thy told me to get it fixed and they'd reimburse my cost, I haven't yet done this cause I'm afraid if I let someone else attempt to fix this they may cause more damage and I'd still be outta pocket. So I found a temporary solution. I brought a battery charger. But this charges for 8-10 hrs and I'm without my phone. Forgot to mention that I finally found contact information for Blu but no one answers. And, my son also has Blu 5.5 but he doesn't have this issue only my 4.7.

I bought 2 of the BLU life play phones from Amazon in February of this year. After only one week my phone stopped charging. I was able to return it to Amazon since it was a new purchase. I received a refund and bought another BLU life play for myself. My phone quit charging again in May. My husband's phone quit charging this month. (June) Be aware of the charging problems that this phone has. my daughter has a BLU Studio 5.0 II and has nad no charging problems. It is upsetting to pay almost $200 for a phone and for it to not even last 6 months. BLU has a terrible service department as well so it is not likely I can have my phones repaired.

I bought my BLU Life Play on September and three weeks ago it started shutting itself down like 5 times per day, or just reestarting itself without me doing anything. One of these days it shutted down and it didn't let me turn it on again and it doesn't even charge. I bought a new battery thinking that was the problema, but it wasn't. I started charging the battery using an external charger and it charges it just fine, but my phone keeps shutting itself down and not letting me turn it on. Any idea of how I could fix this??

Make sure your micro SD card isn't bought from eBay! I got a stick of 32GB from eBay and it didn't work. Went to Fry's and bought a Sony 32GB and problem fixed. Everything works great except for one - pairing issues with my car. I'm not sure if it's my car or the phone but often they won't pair up or the car won't detect the phone at all. The only way to get them to communicate is to reboot the phone.

The warranty is for a year, but they can help you if you warranty time is over. Why don't you look for an office of go to the web page and find how they could help you to fix your phone?

I bought my Blu Life Play on 28th December 2013. By February 2014 the phone started to give trouble to charge. Eventually after much playing with the cord it started charging. Over the last week, I noticed that it started taking longer to fully charge. It would take close to a couple hours or more to charge. Now today it refuses to charge, the battery is completely dead and no USB that I use is charging it. This was my first android phone as I was adamant that I didn't want one. Now that I've grown accustomed to it, this happens. This is my last purchase of a Blu phone. I always thought they were low value phones and they have proven my right. If you plan to purchase one, save your money cause everybody I know who's bought a Blu phone has always been disappointed. I read the reviews here and changed my opinion but that was obviously a mistake!

I've got this phone recently with General Mobile Discovery brand name in Turkey. I don't like smartphones but I have to use them because of my job as a web developer. Category 10 SD Cards are still pretty unstable even the so called "best ones" (sorry folks only the truth)if you use a modest Category 4 card you will have a different result (no overheating, no sudden disappearance of the card, the speed difference can only be appreciated when you use the phone as a mass storage device but, you bought a phone not a usb flashdrive!). You can certify this by simply putting your super category 10 card in an usb addaptor (even unsing one of the "best ones"), open a swap file (ReadyBoost)for windows and begin to work. It will perform fine at the begining but it will be a point when it will begin to warm up and finally fail. I can beat you an arm that the card will not stand a full working day without "disappearing" just like in your phone. Conclusion: Its the card not the phone. Please try and tell us how it went!!!

I do have an SD card. The settings on the phone lets the phone decide where the data is stored; Either on the SD card or the on-board memory.

I'm having a problem with my blu life play where the photos and video aren't being saved for very long. After a few hours they're gone. When trying to access them in the gallery app it says "thumbnail unable to display". Some only display a portion of the photo while the rest of the picture is grayed out. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone have a solution?

About 5 Weeks in and it lags like crazy. Don't have that many apps on it in comparison to my other devices either. If it wasn't for that occasional lagging this would be an excellent phone in it's price range. i've had mine for 6 weeks and i would say 3 weeks in i started having problems with charging and started to have to bend the wire to charge it. i bought a few different wired thinking it was the wire and it isn't. it is definitely the phone. the port is still completely in tack and not loose in any way! it sucks! tried to go back to the retailer and they are telling me to go to blu. i am still waiting for a call back, which at this point is a joke since my phone doesn't charge to turn on! not happy with my purchase!

Okay here goes, what do you really need in a phone? let me know, as far as i know the BLP is a great device all round the only let down is that it only has 4gb internal BUT it's not really a let down because if you put a 32 gb sd card in, you will have a 32 gb BLU Life Play and one last thing is that although the camera quality(video and photo) is great it sometimes doesn't look that good in DARK areas. EVERYTHING else is great about the phone and it's a great phone for the price and i do recommend it :)

In my initial glee review below I left out the most important con this phone has which is headset compatibility. The one that ships in the phone is nice but there's no bud replacements so the one it has is too big and it doesn't stay in my ear. This wouldn't be an issue if I could use another pair of headphones but unfortunately I can't. The phone uses a specific type of headset any other sounds really awful in it. Otherwise if I were to choose between this and the S3 Mini (which I kind of had too) i'd still choose this in a heart beat. It was cheaper and much better spec'd.

I bought this phone a few days ago. I can´t put a full review cause it only be with me for like 5 days. But so far this phone works absolutley fine, the camera works perfect and the pics are so beautiful. Internet load is fast, and the videos on youtube looks so nice. The only thing that I dont like is the lack of battery life. It drowns so fast with the use of internet/social media/youtube. Apart of that, I fell in love with this phone

So i've I bought this a couple days ago and I must say I absolutely ion love with it. Dodgy brand related issue aside (i.e this device being named differently in certain countries) it is a wonderful device. Thin and light and well put together. I've got it in a beautiful White and it's so nice of the company to ship it with accessories. Camera is nice so is video recording. Sound quality is acceptable as well though the stock music player doesn't recognize my AAC files. Which sucks since it's actually a pretty functional player. I've not experienced any significant lags with it so far though i've not got much installed on it. Overall I am more than satisfied with this device and i'm holding onto it until the next great LG device comes out---sick of Galaxy phones without having owned one to be honest. Back to the BLU though, there a few nit picks, design wise, I have. The lack of a shutter button, the lack of a notification LED. I had an entry level Android with both of those so upgrading to his and not seeing those minor details was a bummer but otherwise a very good value for money.

So, for all those who are having a really bad day with the sound quality on headsets besides what comes with the phone, I have found a way that can really resolve the problem by let's say 90%. It is actually not the phone itself, but the music player which the phone comes with (or I could be wrong) When I use my headphones on a video it sounds normal. So, for the music lovers like myself, go to the data on the music player, raise the bass boost to max out, while lower the 3D effect and the focus down to absolute zero. Lastly for a litle more kink, raise the space reverberation to about 70%. Problem solved. Enjoy your music with atleast acceptable sound quality. Note that I never said it is completely resolved.

Camera quality with a little bit less light is very noisy, i understand that pictures with poor light becomes noisy, but with a day light it´s not commom... 2. Purchase BLP 4 days ago and installed a Straight Talk GSM-A SIM card. Although I am able to send text messages, I am not able to send them with an attachment (for MMS). I Have spent the last two days speaking to Straight Talk Representatives and also with the local AT&T rep. I was given plenty of APN settings which still did not fix my problem. I also downloaded an APN tuner app which also failed to fix my problem. Too bad I'll have to return this phone for something that gives me full MMS capabilities. Other than the aforementioned, this is a nice phone with a real good camera.

Hey guys! I am really excited about buying this phone; it sounds really good! However I have 2 queries that I wan't to resolve before I make my move. So I've heard that there's a problem with the wi-fi on the phone...please, tell me is it a real bother? It's a very good smartphone/price. Only have some issue with the Wi-Fi. The apps works very slow with the Wi-Fi. I think that is a problem with the software because when the phone use mobile data the apps works very fast and very well. This phone is a really good phone for the price, I bought it to replace my HTC Amaze 4G, and it was a very noticeable upgrade. I did not end up keeping this phone though; I am with Telus in Canada, and this phone, although all of the specs should work with Telus, is not compatible with the Telus network. When I spoke to Telus tech support about this they were not able to give me a reason for this. I was told by Telus that based on the specs and baseband frequencies it should work with the Telus network, but for some unknown reason it is not compatible. This phone will not work on the Bell, Telus, or Koodo networks, but it will work on Rogers and Fido.

No problems at all, you can set your preferred installation memory. Even then some apps still install to the phone's memory, but all you do is view the app's information and you'll see an option to move it to the SD card. Trust me, I got it a week ago and my 32 gb is down to 20 GB available, out of which maybe only 3 GB is not apps ;)

Viper V1 uses MediaTek MT6589. I played with it and I would choose it over S3 :) ... it's a bit cheaper than galaxy s2+ , but far more appealing. I also like the magnesium chassy frame and matte backcovers (blue & black) and a glossy white. UI is also slightly customized and sexy - and it's still FAST !!! Price: about 290 Euros

If you use your phone actively it'll last about 10 - 15 hours depending on what you do, however i usually have my phone in a way which is saves power (dark background and auto brightness etc.) so if you use colourful or live wallpapers, you'll get a little less.

It depends, If you have the money to buy a GS3 then by all means, go for it. The Blu gives you similar hardware to GS3 at a low price, but I think the nature ux on the GS3 is a bit more entertaining. If it doesn't appeal too you then the Life play is the phone for you as the Nature ux is GS3's main advantage.
