Had used it for around two years. In the end, the motherboard was damaged for no reason :( And the replacement would cost around 200 RMB in China. I would be honest that this is the worst Huawei phone I've ever used. Very lagging, bad blurry BS camera. I far love the previous version much better -- The Gentle Giant: Huawei Ascend Mate. It has nice performance with its only 2GB RAM, nice display, and outstanding vivid camera with its HDR!

I bought a Mt2-l05 phone. AND I CANNOT DOWNLOAD ANY OF THE GOOD APPS! I spent hours on the phone with Echo Dot support trying to install my echo dot. I COULD NOT DO IT FROM MY PHONE! And I wont attempt to install new ois. If I had known this I NEVER would have bought a Huawei. In Summary - (There is only one way to say this) My Mt2-l05 phone is a complete piece of shit!

It is a good phone. Have not had any problem so far. It is only the camera which is not sharp. Very fast and smooth on lollipop. Battery timing is ok.

The battery lite is red like the phone should be dead but it is stiil working.It does say to plug in charger but the lite still stays on.I left it plugged in all night not sure if I need a battery or not.HAd the phone about 2 yrs and haven't had any problems.

Hi guys, I'm in China right now, bought the phone on August 2016, but I had no weird problems like you guys are mentioning on the comments. The only problem is ... It get freezing very easily! I don't know why, but I always need to refresh my phone to make it back to normal. Only need to open 3-5 apps to make it freezing, totally disappointed. Plus, there is also a problem with the camera, it get blurry very easily, unlike it's little brother (Huawei Ascend MATE 1st gen.) which has an only 8MP Camera but totally unbeatable if you compare it with most phones nowadays. Hope anyone could tell me how to solve this freezing problem. I uninstalled the apps I don't used but still get the same problem after opening several apps.

Bought mine - used - from an engineer friend who had purchased two. The 6-inch screen is massive! Great for internetting (or for gaming - tho, i'm not a gamer). Hardly anything bad to say about this besides it being much larger than most phones to where it doesn't fit in a front pocket or small 'cellphone' pocket found in cargo shorts/pants. Even though it has the Gorilla Glass display, I don't like to sit on it while it's in my back pocket. Unlike some, have had NO issues with it suddenly going into airplane mode (or any other settings). My experience has been that settings have been rock solid. Battery life is also massive - using FB, Instagram, Viber & Waze WILL cause it to deplete a bit, but still much better than my previous LG G90 and both HTC phones before that. Guess the worst thing I can say about this Ascend Mate 2 is that (in my experience), the camera isn't as good as I'd hoped. Even though the touch focus tells me it's good-to-go, I still get slightly out-of-focus photos. That said, the colors are still pretty good. Maybe it's me (maybe I need to cut down on the caffeine?) The out-of-the-box Android 4.3 has also been pretty rock solid - though I should probably upgrade. Haven't used the Bluetooth, so I can't comment on that.

Ask your friend to borrow their phone or something and put your sim card in if you need to call or text someone. Make sure their phone uses a micro-sim card. This is a problem with your unit, you can probably send it back and get a refund or get it replaced. You wouldn't have this problem with another one.

From LG G-Vista to 1st GSM Unlocked.. we will never go back.. wife was amazed on battery life.. she's hooked.. and happy.. therefore im happy and at peace. Camera quality is great once focused.. which is pretty much my only complaint. The camera is slow to focus in either still or video mode. I wish is was faster more reliable. Connecting to post-paid plan on Tmobile USA was easy as 1-2-3 no issues..up and running in minutes. I've recommended this to all my associates.

I just updated my mate 2 mt-l05 to lollipop and I had lots of problems but factory resetting fixed all of them, now the phone is much more smother and ui looks nicer and have some more options like showing the data speed, and I think battery lasts longer, thanks Huawei

i updated my mate 2 4g to the 5.1 lollipop but i notice the camera starts to hich seems laggy not recording at full frames whats wrong? id be aiming the camera at one object if i try to move and point at something els its still aiming at the first object then in a sec or so it then realizes that theres another object .Is it that the frames are being dropped or something is it a bug with the os or what?, let me no whats up .jelly records videos beautifully but 5.1 is laggy when recording whats happening

I have owned the phone for over a year and have used and abused it beyond a normal user. To date the phone still works like it did since day one. My only real advice on using it is do not use a rubber protector in really hot environments like Arizona, new Mexico, and Nevada. This will cause the phone to over heat. You can now buy this phone for under $200.00 at Walmart online and get a two year warranty.

I am am in Kenya, and I got this phone from Huawei USA, 8 months ago. It works great with Kenya Sim card and I didn't have to do anything. The best is the battery, everything else is works great.

There are phones with the same battery life, but not the same size battery. You can't fit a 4050 mAh battery in a 5 inch phone very easily, unless you really conserve on space with the camera and processor.

Okay, so I was highly skeptical about this phone, priced at $349 in Canada. I did some homework, then went down to my Wind Mobile Store in Calgary and took it for a test drive. I walked out with one and only had to part with $200 and no contract. I am also on a plan for $64 a month that covers me for voice and text unlimited in Canada and The USA. BUT I digress I am using this phone for 2 weeks now and LOVE it! This is what Apple should have evolved into but did NOT! Easy to use and best of all. I don't travel with my laptop or ipad anymore this is IT!

I really love my AM2 for its battery life, it is really as good as it claims! I use it as an ereader and don't need a fast processor to play games. My only peeve is that the three capacitive buttons eat up a lot of real estate of the screen. I wish they put them outside the screen in their own designated area.

iPhone is way too expensive because "everybody has to have it!" LG doesn't really impress me because I've had 2 of them and they both had psychotic breaks within a year (can't locate the network, VMs don't send or arrive immediately even with a network connection, screen times out after about 3 seconds (set for 15)). I'm trying this phone because I've seen blisteringly positive reviews. It looks like a great big, fat, gorgeous, greasy-fast little beasty.

I own a mate2 and I have to say that I choosed this phone over the other brands like iPhone, moto, Samsung, etc, because its design, performance and cost. The mate2 is as good as any other brand phone because it never lags in performance, speed, runs great, it costed me 299dlls and that makes it a better choice, I can play games, text, call, surf web, install apps and games, the camera is excellent it has many functions, I wouldn't pay what other brands cost because what Huawei offers here it doesn't make you think twice, I totally recommend this cell phone.

My Mate 2 does everything; calls, text, movies, browsing the web on LTE, playing games, etc... as good as my wife's Note 4 and my daughter iPhone 6 plus. If you want Lollypop, it's coming to the Mate 2 this summer, but that's not going to change the phone it self, just change the look and feel a bit.

Alright so recently I owned a Blckbrry and decided that I needed an upgrade. When I went for one I thought I'd give this phone a try. The results, I'm not a fan at all. While the phone does have its perks, everyone knows the monster of a screen,and the long battery life, it has some major draw backs. For me size isn't a problem, anyone who complains about it is just complaining because they realized they messed up getting a phone too big for them (I'm 6'5"). If you can't handle a big phone don't buy a big phone, simple. The problem I have with this phone is the fact that It resets constantly. The outdated OS is just too weak for today's world. If you just want a phone for texts and calling, this is your ideal. But if you have any intention of using apps, music, internet, forget it not gonna happen. If you want a phone that will have everyone in the room intrigued at its sure mass this is the one. But if you want a reliable phone that operates with the rest of the competition forget it. There's a reason no one else in the room knows what a Huawei is.

I def made the right choice! China made phones will be our future, as soon as ppl broaden their horizons! if you upgrade to 4.4.2 kk and didn't get the correct google apps its likely going to crash and boot loop try doing a factory reset if that does not work the only other option is rooting it and installing custom recovery and re installing original firmware

Hey you all, I am doing a beta test on this huawie phone right know to see if me and my father would like it so far I am really impressed. I use to be a die hard Samsung and LG kind of guy. but dam they put to much of a price tag on there phone's for how many problems persisted on the Samsung and LG, line. this phone has really impressed me its big open screen. fast core, lighting fast touch respond. and how you can look at you e mails and facebook and see what everyone and everything is doing. and taking a picture. other then DAM need I say more. if your looking for a good fast phone that wont hurt your wallet. and help your pried when it wont freeze when your showing it to friend's and family get this. but I always say test it before you take it and love it.

Bluetooth unit comes with different profile. To listen to music, our bluetooth device must be enabled with A2DP profile. Most of the bluetooth devices support just handsfree profile where you can receive calls. This is nothing to do with HAM2. I hope this resolves your doubt about not listening to music.

Clear display, fast performance, excellent reception - better than my previous HTC Amaze. It can take full advantage of my AC WiFi and reaches rate of 430 mbps! Highly recommended!

Is a great phone. The only thing missing is Wifi Calling. So you cannot use that feature from T Mobile or anyone else. They need to come with an update. The Samsung, LG, ZTE Max all come with this feature.

Love this unit. Size is great for my hand. Battery lasts for two days with a lot of use. Screen is easy to see and use hugh fonts. Operation is fast on all functions. First cell phone I have purchased. Well worth the $225 paid and my plan with consumer cellular will be much less than at&t. Can not find any think negative to say.

Posted on the Huawei blog site, they will update the LTE/USA Mate2 version "sometime within the first 6 months of 2015" to version 5 Lollipop. Won't really matter to me, it's stable on 4.3 on my device.

My friends galaxy s3 is now on its last update - kit Kat - and guess what? Battery life is still terrible. The sweet deal with Ham2 is everything works, and works well. The hardware is already middle of the road at time of release, and contributes to one of the best features - battery life. Most people picking up this phone already don't care about top of the line hardware, and I'll take a tried and true, trouble free os that works with all apps instead of bleeding edge, buggy beta state software any day. Using this on wind Mobile in Cambridge, Canada. I've tried many phones on their network: Galaxy S3, Blackberry Z10, Q10, and Moto G. Each had disappointing reception and battery life as a result. Very pleased with this phone as I rarely see it drop below three bars, two bars and usable data connection in my concrete bunker of a workplace restroom where every other phone I tried had zero bars and functionality (even roaming was down to one bar). Excellent signal aside, I'm really liking the size and build quality of this device. Years back when I was due an upgrade I laughed at the sales rep who suggested the Note 1. Yet since then I've come to realize that most phones are just too small for the ways I'd like to use them. Sure there are compromises you have to make with a device this size, but in my case they are outweighed by the benefits.

I purchased the Huawei Ascend Mate 2 in September, 2014, and returned it for a refund October 11, 2014. I loved the big size but it wasn't practical for me because it was too big for my pants pocket or shirt pocket. Also, for some reason I couldn't text a picture. All I got was "sending" on the screen but it never went anywhere. Another thing I didn't like was when I held it in my hand for, say, over five minutes my hand would hurt. Dave G.

Have used it for a month (upgraded from HTC Sensation), now, in the US on T-Mobile and in New Zealand on Spark (formerly NZ Telecom). Resulting opinion? It is one excellent phablet. Sure, it might not have the fastest processor or the highest resolution, but neither was a drawback at all to performance and display. And the battery life? I love not having to charge every day. It is also thin and light for the sizes of the screen and the battery. I also love the fact that it was only $299, unlocked, and supported a range of LTE bands.

Zenfone release was delayed and then I decided to buy HAM2. I am using HAM2 from August 20th and so far it�s really good experience. Pros: 1. Battery Life is awesome. I am getting almost 3 days (72 hours) with full time connectivity (Vodafone 2G and Wifi at home). I am not a big mobile game player and I am getting more than 10 hours screen on time in HAM2 in these 3 days and still 20% battery was remaining! 2. Size is really good to browse and checking mails 3. A lot of apps for Photo editing and we can do editing in this big screen easily 4. And so on� Cons: 1. I bought this mobile by seeing 13 MP Sony Exmor is used in this. Expected good quality pics as in my Nokia N8. Unfortunately the images are not up to the mark always. I have tried almost all the good camera apps from Google Play Store. Pics taken in good day light is superb but the pics in less light is not at all good :�( Huawei, please fix this issue urgently. 2. The OS is Android 4.3 (Jellybean) and no one knows about ETA for Android 4.4 (Kitkat) update. It�s ok and we can manage it. But Google Camera will work only on Android 4.4. Either they should fix the camera to produce better images or should upgrade to Kitkat so that we can use Google Camera app. Note: Those who plan to buy it, Please read all single star reviews yourself and understand whether it is relevant. I really felt bad about seeing these 1 star reviews for such a good device.

Great phone, some have complained about service access, I honestly don't think these people have this phone. This phone uses the same radio as the Sony Xperia series and connect to any networks 4G service Ala T-Mobile AT&T Metro PCS, it's battery alone sells the phone which I've use heavily without charge for 2 days, so overall this phone is a great product for anyone looking for a reliable option.

The phone looks pretty. I used the phone without recharging for 3 days, while I frequently browsed internet and watched two movies (~3 hours). The screen resolution is good enough for human eyes. It is hard to visualize difference in pixel density between the ~245 ppi screen of this phone and those high-end ~450 ppi full HD screens, such as those of Galaxy S4 and LG G2. The phone does not heat up at all unless I play some games which demand a lot of processing. To be honest, I do not recommend you playing games on any smartphone, as they are good at draining power and therefore will eventually kill the batteries. The phone runs apps as fast as (maybe even faster than) all the high-end phones despite its suboptimal CPU, probably because it does not need to support full-HD display. The 2 G RAM is more than enough for this phone. Usually, there is more than 1 G RAM free, while Galaxy S4 and LG G2 are often on the edge of being short of RAM memory. That is probably why Galaxy S5 and LG G3 now have 3 G RAM installed. Overall, I think the hardwares are well combined to allow excellent performance, although individually only the ~4000 mAh battery represents the best of its kind on the market. I highly recommend you buying a phone with a high-capacity battery rather than a power-draining super-high resolution screen which cannot be well appreciated by human eyes. The only thing which bothers me a little is the power key on the side of the phone as I frequently hit it unintentionally. It would be better to redesign it to respond over double or triple clicks. Is it possible to write up an app to accomplish this?

Got mine on July 9. Since my old phone had a regular sim, I just wi-fi to set it up. Box is top quality, device isn't as large as I thought. Physically, between it and my GT-N7000, it's only 1/2" taller, but 0.8" MORE screen! I don't understand the comments about the screen resolution. Coming from the Note1, this one is better than that. Speaker is clearer & louder. Camera snaps are excellent. Took most of the afternoon for google to send the 100+ apps to the phone, get the email app set up, install Nova Launcher, tweak it the way I wanted. Battery at start was 46%, when I finished it was still at 40%. Before I ended work for the day, I shaved down my regular size sim to fit the micro sim holder, fired it up, phone works perfectly, right now, limited to H+ speed until I get the sim switched out. Tried all sorts of APN's but I guess my account/sim won't allow LTE to come on. So far so good. Nice screen, very big battery, and an attractive price...what's to complain about?

I received my phone on Monday and I am loving it! When I got it, it was a total surprise. The receipt email that I received said that I would get notification on when the phone would be shipped out,(never got that email unless it went to my spam box)but from ordering to shipping took a full week. I got the black version with the free case and airtime for the $300 special order. Also tossed in for free was the phone to phone charging cable that sells for $10. I am not going to complain free is free! The case is the only thing that I have a problem with its nice but I can tell that I will need to buy a new one here in the next 3 months. The build for it is not worth the price by itself, its pleather and plexiglass and feels just like plastic unlike the case covers from samsung (unless we are comparing it to the first gen galaxy 3 cases) In my opinion I think that the hard case may be the better buy. Although I dont have the hard case to compare it with. The phone itself has much more real-estate that the Nexus 4 that I am moving from. The biggest draw for me is the antenna and where my Nexus usually gets 0-2 bars on the T-Mo network, the Mate 2 gets anywhere from 2-3 bars! it scores an excellent in my book for that! The battery life is phenomenal! When I received the phone the battery was at 1/2 and lasted 2 days with normal use (phone calls, web browsing, some gaming and use of the GPS, not to mention the smidgen of trouble I had setting it up because I was away from home with no wi-fi and inability to connect to T-Mo's data stream). The screen is decent not much difference from the Nexus if you don't count my ability to actually read the screen in bright sunlight. The phone is thinner than the Nexus and weighs slightly more which should be expected really since it is a much bigger phone. On the processor end its pretty quick and I havent gotten burned yet like with the nexus which tends to overheat in my pocket whenever I put it to sleep while playing Injustice. All in all I like the phone, the case, not so much. When compared to other phones that I have own or purchased for family, it goes a little something like this.... Dell Streak.... was a joke LG L9..... gets stomped on in every way. Google honestly needs to mandate that the minimum specs for ram and rom be 1GB and 8GB respectively. Anything less is a waste of time and money! Huawei P6.... seems like a piece of crap next to this. The home spun CPU needed to be left in China! The Galaxy Note.... close but no cigar Huawei G700.... Good phone, but with the lack of LTE, it gets trumped by the Mate 2.

I have HAM, and it is perfect. Performance is great, look is very nice and never changes for almost a year now of heavy use. I even leave the phone in active hotspot for 24 hours and it does't over heat. So I am very excited for the availability of the HAM2 in the Philippines. I don't think it will be RM1,200. Already the Mate is pricing now at RM1,150 in the mobile market. I understand Mate has stopped production; so to clear the Mate stock, they have to drop it further to around RM800 to RM900 for Mate2 to sell at RM1,200. People, don't fall into the mobile phone resolution gimmick! Seriously, I have a 4.3" screen with 480x800 resolution, and it's really just as much as you would need. 720p would be nice, but not neccessary. Think a little, 720p is probably the resolution of your laptop. Why'd you need a sharper one on a 7 times smaller display? And these upcoming 2K mobile screens... They're nothing but a waste of energy.

I agree with the posters who say that 720p is plenty for a phone. I can't tell the difference, so why waste the resources. The specs of the Mate 2 are slightly better than of its predecessor, but by any means doesn't justify the price. Since the Mate 1 was released, I was thinking about buying, but even that price was too high. I got a Blu Quattro 5.7 instead, and I love this phone despite all its issues. I would love to get a Mate 2 though...for $300...
