  • SAMSUNG FOREVER by rogers AND SOLSTICE by att both are samething? like i am a retailer for cellphone accessories here in canada. and I wanna know like if i buy from usa samsung solstice accessories like Hard case or soft case. will it fit for samsung forever in canada. thanks for all help

  • hi.can change a887 touch pad to a886 phone.is it posible.

  • Ok how do you block a sender from txt mgsing you? I can block a caller from calling my phone, but wont block the senders txt mgs gurrrr. I have tried and tried and tried. You think it wouls be straight forward but its not.

  • yeaah i feel the same way. i used to have a xenon but i stupidly got a forever :(

  • umm.. yea this phone isn't like any blackberry but its a desent phone but does this phone ever pick up wifi?

  • ive had this phone forr 5 months now, seen to like everything except that i have to buy a silly little adapter for $9.00 to let me fit a 3.5mm headphone jack...other than that it works great

  • Hate it. Crap phone. I miss my LG Xenon. That was an awesome phone... :(

  • Terrible resoulution when watching videos. Pixelated 240p

  • This phone is overall a decent phone, but it sometimes turns off by itself automatically every two minutes and you have to remove the battery and wait for couple of minutes and put it back in order to turn on the phone, most of the time it doesn't turn on. By the way, I got this phone free from Rogers.

  • menu, settings, sound profile, select one at a time for example normal. at the top right part of the screen it will say call, tap on that and there is an option for messages and u can change it there

  • can't hear when there's an incoming call. how do you turn speakerphone on. help. thanks.

  • does anyone know how to change the text message ring tone on this phone?

  • Hi: If you turn the volume button to 0,it will turn the sound off on the keypad. This button would be the volume button at the top left hand corner of the phone.Push the lower side of the button down.

  • how do you turn the volume off on the keypad. I can't figure it out and it drives me crazy when i'm texing

  • how to use the pc studio/ i download the new pc studio, but it doesn't work

  • I was choosing between C3 and Forever too, ended up getting the Forever thinking the GPS would work (but it doesn't). Still would have chosen the Forever because I want to try out a pure touchscreen phone. Since both are rather med-low end phone I think it boils down to whether you want a keyboard (C3) or a touchscreen (Forever). I'd say Forever looks cooler, but IIRC C3 has FM radio which may be important to some. If the GPS wasn't disabled by Rogers I would recommend the Forever in a heartbeat... I'm bitter!!!

  • nokia c3 VS. samsung forever. under rogers free warranty plan. your choice would be..?

  • First off I think this is a good phone that provides very good value for money. It's technically not a smartphone, but to me it does everything that a smartphone is capable of. The issue I have here is not with the phone per se, but rather how Rogers cripples the hardware so that users are not able to utilize it to its full potential. I have had a most difficult time trying to enable GPS on this phone. Scoured everywhere online for fixes (most of them for A887 but they are the same phone branded differently), played with a whole bunch of admin settings related to the GPS chip, did the whole TKFE hack and still I'm not able to get GPS to work. It's a fact that the A887 (AT&T branded) can do GPS, at the minimum with the navigation app that AT&T provides by default, and is fully operational with other apps after some tinkering with TKFE. However, there is no app provided by Rogers on the A886, and there is no app that can get the GPS chip working even with heavy modifications. This leads me to the conclusion that Rogers has DISABLED GPS on this phone for good, and nothing short of debranding (which I am not able to find any information on) can un-cripple the phone. The claim by a user that launching Google Maps will automatically enable GPS is NOT correct. Google Maps is able to triangulate the phone's approximate position using cellphone tower signals, but that's not GPS at all. On the map you'll see a dot centering a large light blue circle, and that's just an approximation of where you may be. The radius of the circle is huge: 1km, 3.8km, or even larger. A functional GPS chip is able to do much much better than this. Talked to Rogers tech support on the phone and they say they don't cripple their phones, but when I talked to someone at a Rogers Plus he admits that the phone is "heavily branded". Until someone is able to talk to a Samsung or Rogers phone engineer who brands phones, it seems that users will have to put up with not having their phones perform at a level that it is built to be capable of. Sad really...

  • working with touch screen this is all new for me so far so good. my last cell was a pcs of crap nokia

  • Got this phone free from Rogers, so far a great phone!

  • This phone is very good! I got it as an exchange through ROgers warranty plan. The touch screen is nice, just right. The speaker phone is decent! The volume on the ear is a bit low even on max, but i can still hear people clearly and fine but if I were say on a bus or in a busy restaurant i'd have a bit of trouble. No 3.5 or 2.5 headphone jack. The phone comes with samsung connection headphones..the sound is bad for music but they are optimised for voice chat. They are excellent for calling! Overall a great phone, which it had WiFi or at least easier web browsing. Kinda clunky to browse web, might be Rogers system too, Im not sure how that works out.

  • I got this new phone from rogers under out f warrenty to replace my broke down LG Eve. Mic didn't work even reset. Speaker phone also didn't work. Not recommand.

  • This phone is terrible! I got it in Dec 2009 for Rogers and by April it was having problems: dropping calls after 1 minute. Sent it to Samsung for repairs...THREE TIMES (so far) and it still does the same thing. Samsung Customer service is terrible, last time I ever buy a samsung product!

  • Does it have a 3.5mm headphone jack??

  • Download New PC Studio from here (click on 'software' instead of manuals) You have to buy the mem card.

  • Hi, just got this phone as a free replacement from a SONY W580i (which I have never liked...soo complicated). The forever a886 has very clear reception, better coverage because it goes onto 3G+ network as well. Speaker phone clarity is very nice. Voice activated commands work very well. I have downloaded and installed google maps for mobile phones (go to m.google.com/maps from your phone). I found that a lot of people are wondering how to use the A-GPS, well this is how. The app works fine, except that you always are asked for permission to let the app get its data. I easily setup the phone to work with my @live.ca mail account and messenger. I download the New PC Studio which allows me to add music, get my pictures and manage the phone etc... It can be found here (click on 'software' instead of manuals) Overall very much enjoy the phone

  • good phone overall, got it for free so i can't complain

  • no it does not have wifi

  • how do you put on music ?, and do i need to buy and sd card for it, or is their one already in it :S

  • does this phone have wi-fi?????

  • what happened? I want to know as I am getting this phone as an out of warranty replacement for my existing ah36 Samsung.

  • Well, after 1 month of use my A886 touchscreen went for a dump. P.O.S. phone.

  • The handset is great!!! But most of Samsung phones (include A886) do not allow intall Jar files transferred from PC with cable or blueteeth, so, I called Rogers, said I have to download java from Web directly to phone and pay for data fee. $1 per day or $10 per month. Does anybody here know what source is best to download some java applications with phone browser? Thanks,

  • Does anyone know how to delete saved "custom words" that have been added to the T9 list. Thanks in advance!

  • ive had this phone since it came out,I have yet to have any battery issues,my phone takes an hour to charge and it will last me a few days, i enjoy the phone very much so.

  • Big fan of the forever. Much better than the phone I recycled to get this one. Battery life seems reasonable considering the features.

  • Drake,Kanye West,Lil Wayne and Eminem rapped about this phone lol!

  • There is no 3.5 mm audio jack on the phone, as says the spec sheet here. And someone needs to figure out how to turn that "ask for permission before accessing the web" thing. It's a royal pain.

  • Your problem with the battery is the 3G. Just like a blackberry, just like the i-phone, 3g eats up your battery like crazy. If i dont use the internet, my battery lasts 3 days, which is reasonable i think. One thing though : Why does it have to ask permission EVERY SINGLE time it acceses the net? I use Google Maps a lot, this is crap.

  • this is a sick phone please do not take it even if you are getting it free

  • I owned this phone for less than a day. I found the call quality on it terrible. The receiver made it sound lile like the caller was covering their mouth while talking. Had to send it back. Not sure what I will replace it with though.

  • yeah... that was useful when the first cell phone came out back in..19XX. Next thing you know, Samsung will ask us to charge next phone for 24 hourse before usage...

  • I absolutely love this phone. I have had other touch screen phones and nothing compares to the response of this one...The widgets and customization features are remarkable. Not to mention all that memory! 32 gigs! Not sure why you 2 have had issues with the battery. I have had none. Be forewarned that with any battery comes great responsibility. If you charge your phone when it doesn't need charging, you're going to kill the battery life expectancy...

  • Samsung Forever??? Samsung Forever Charging more like!!!

  • Talk time ?????? bullshit. otherwise great.

  • when samsung will realise that battery is one of the most imp. feature of any phone. it should be atleast 1500 mah. I am sure due to poor battery it,s going to be a big flop.
