Nokia 6086 - User Reviews

  • help for arrange day and time

  • i want purchase this phone..

  • To the person whom I show my utmost pity for, the person who had commented this phone in 2011, the person that spelled phone fone, I am truly sorry to learn of these problems of yours Grinch

  • its a realyy good fone after i droped my blackberry and had this fone for 2 years and ive droped it one time i had my sister drop my basball on it

  • my friend had a cellphone and repair shop and he gave me this unit. when i was using it to access to the internet it does not work. i called the network operator and ask what application i am using to connect to the internet for all i know it was orange world. surely he does said that this application does not work here in the Philippines and i need to reformat all the program.. what should i do? is there any other option for me to do or what? thank you and more power i am hoping for your kindness response regarding this.

  • U need to flash the phone cause it have viruse.

  • my phone does the blinking thing too, also it goes funny coloured and the screen freaks out sometimes. recently my brother dropped it and the entire top cover came off of the top flip part. i then noticed there is a screw missing that is supposed to hold the internal parts in place, i wonder if thats the cause. but the phone still works even though the cover is off (i just hold it on when i want to use it) the thing is durable thats for sure, it suffered the wrath of my 10 year old brother

  • I have had my 6086 for over 3 years, and would not hesitate to buy one again. It has never failed me. Even it remote areas, it has been able to communicate when my friends have had issues with their units. Of course there are some places that no phone will work, as in valleys, and far from towers. It has good sound quality, both talking and receiving. It is sturdy - I have dropped it, lost it, found it again the next day. I usually hang it around my neck on a lanyard and it gets banged around a lot when I go hiking. The battery lasts about a week - I have 2 fully charged spares at all times. Music sounds great. I create my own ringtones and background pics, and upload to the micro SD card. Nokia software for the PC is on the Nokia site and is free. The camera is the only bad thing on this unit. Results are poor, at best. I would give it 5 stars, but because of the camera I give it 4.3.

  • how will i use my ringtones? every time i use its say not allowed by activation key how is that??? pls reply

  • I have had 3 of these phones since July 2007 when the Hot Spot at home came out. Two of the phones have died, one under warranty and one out of warranty. The 6086 phone has only a 33% chance of surviving the two year contract. A replacement 6086 has started overheating and I am afraid it will catch on fire. So that makes the odds only 25% that it will last over two years. It is a good thing you can't buy this phone any more. The Consumer Product Safety Commission should be told about the overheating. I am not wasting any more time with this junk.

  • hi,thats very poor mobile because it's beetry timing is only 7 hours and it's bluetooth is very poor.nokia 6086 has no resale.i am teeling you very fearly that please don't buy nokia 6086.thanks

  • I have experienced connectivity speeds of 229 kbps, near the maximum data transfer rate for the Class 10 EDGE protocol (236.8 kbps), which is the EDGE data capability for this phone. Time for an upgrade soon, as the 6086 is far behind the technology curve, but it would be cost effective to keep it around, as it's not at the end of its useful life just yet.

  • This phone is used as a cellular modem paired with a Toshiba Tecra A9 Notebook over bluetooth connecting with the T-Mobile Total Internet dial up. (no Wi-Fi, Ethernet LAN or Air Card available to me in the field). Every function in this mode is flawless. Download speeds over this connection are running at 200 kbps - respectable for a dialup. Works as a simple and quick web connectivity backup option. It also functions as a T-Mobile Hotspots@Home phone employing encrypted pairing with the WRT54G linksys wireless router. Purchased the phone in June, 2007 from T-Mobile when they rolled out Hotspots @ Home that month so that it might be used at a residential location in the T-Mobile cell network which has low signal strength (UMA protocol -- Unlicensed Mobile Access). Wi-Fi to cellular switching back and forth performs well. I have never had a big problem with it, but two weaknesses do exist: the antenna system is a little weak where the cell phone signal is of very low strength and the screen is a little delicate (if excessive pressure is applied to the clamshell when closed, it then begins to take a few seconds for the LCD to come up when unfolded -- a build quality and durability issue that is a concern). This phone is too delicate to be thrown around. Also, the screen resolution is not the greatest at 128 x 160 pixels. Even the old Nokia 3650 had 176 x 208 pixels.

  • Both my wife and I have had this phone for about a year and a half. Since nearly the beginning we have had battery overheat issues. Tmobile sent us a new battery to replace one and we put it in my wifes phone. It started overheating too. My phone still overheats and now the screen blinks to black on a regular rate, about every 5 seconds or so. When the phone is open it will just blink real quick to black and then back to the screen. This also interrupts dialing. If I'm dialing a number it will momentarily stop accepting the number and cause me to double enter a number. We live in an area where tmobile coverage is not great, so we use the wifi feature to call through our home wireless network to give us better reception. This is a great feature, but for all the other problems we have had, I'm not impressed. I have always had Nokia, but this ranks up with one of the worst.

  • i hVW Hd this phone for 3 years alwell highfive

  • I had this phone for 3 years and i loved it. Best phone I have ever had!! Wish they still offered it through at&t.

  • its a very good phone but there is only one problem it dose not give much battery back up after having full fledged features but still its the best ,cheap and handy .

  • omg, i have had this phone 4 only one year and the speaker is broken like no sound or anything and there ar ethese tiny little bugs in my screen and the y wont go away cuz i squssedh them byacident] :( 4/10 ummhp

  • Yeah it does i ve used it n payed over 300 CAD a month

  • is this real dat this cell has wi fi ? i dont think bcouz dis looks like normal phone

  • Well. Its good n all. I broke my Samsung T459 Gravity so I gotta use this. Hey its good though. FM radio,Wi-fi,Music player,Camera,Camcorder,Texting,Calling. Its perfect! Thanks. Why did yall discontinue T-Mobile?

  • rubbish hate it way 2 bulky

  • this phone have WIFI ??? so tiz phone can put (SKYPE/MSN) or not ??

  • This is the best phone i ever had!

  • It has UMA. It uses Wi-Fi to connect to your provider's AP network to make phone calls. Think of it as Voip that you have to pay for.

  • a fone lyk ths wit wifi "WHY"?

  • wifi on this phone??? why on earth does the 6131 not have wifi if thats supposed to be the phone that replaces it!

  • I'm using this because i sold my N95 8GB and getting a xperia x1. As a high-end phone user, i would say this phone offers basics and daily functions and quality talking. A good backup phone or talk only phone. Suggested.

  • Dont be so quick to think its your network. I have the same problems with mine here on the east coast including the phone not connecting to my home network automaticly, and getting errors that look like network errors but are actually the phone. Try renoving the battery while the phone is on and reinstall the battery then restart the phone this is what the service group told me what to do and it seemed to work for a week or so then it died again.

  • I agree the phone features and setup are great but the phone itself has flaws I have had two also and both have had software and conectivity issues Now i think the Phone has died completely, Nokia knows of the problems but never bothered to notify the owners of issues nor did they offer Phone firmware updates. Not pleased with the reliability of this phone.

  • Same problem; replaced phone once; 2 repairs broke after warranty again; junked

  • I have owned the Nokia 6086 twice. I love the the set up, and it's amazing with the wifi, however, I think it's defective. Both times I owned this phone, the screen went out. On the first one, the outter display stopped working first. Either the screen was completely blue, the clock or anything wouldn't show up, or it was a jumbled mess where everything was upside down or just half of it in one corner of the screen and half in the other. Then the inside display started flashing. Every few seconds the screen would flicker. After about two months of that, the screen went completely blue when I went to open a text message. It never went normal. I called T-mobile and they sent me a new Nokia 6086 as a replacement phone because I'd only had that since April, and it was only august. Then, about three weeks ago, that replacement phone had the same problem. Only, the outside display didn't do anything. It started directly with the inside display. I opened it to make a call and noticed the screen was flashing in and out like the other one. And since I knew I only had about a month or two till it completely crapped out on me, I got myself a new phone.

  • i have only two problems with this phone it has the problem with the screen and the loud speaker. if they improve on that and please try something stronger on this, i am from south africe. i have been using this phone for about a year right now thank you very much nokia for connectin people, peace out

  • phones over $500 function awesomely, but theyll break so fast u wont even be able to blink.i use to be usin the nokia 6610i its real cheap but it wont break, once it was on the floor charging something fell on it all that happend as that there was a a big white spot on the LCD.and i have actually tried throwing this phone down from like 6 feet in the air and nothin happend, not even a scratch.so in conclusion i say that expensive fones are coool but break in seconds and cheap fones are crap but but so strong u could throw it off the empire state building and it wont break.

  • Well, Cincinnati Bell SUCKS and in general, the city of Cincinnati Internet network SUCKS. It is NOT YOUR PHONE! :-) I tell you what, you want nightmares -- try "hooking up" with another state for instance Indiana with Ohio! You think you have problems here in Ohio -- well, I am telling you that you have no idea how TERRIBLE the internet and technology is here in Cincinnati and/or Ohio concerning the internet and web. I mean, I was connected to a network at work through Cincinnati Bell and/or Time Warner and I have ALWAYS HAD high-speed / broadband / DSL / cable internet AND unlimited long distance, digital phone, etc. since probably 2003. MY INTERNET NIGHTMARES HAVE DISAPPEARED SINCE I DO NOT HAVE TO WORK WITH A NETWORK IN CINCINNATI, OHIO. BUT . . . now. . . I am working onsite here in Cincinnati and I can tell you that I cannot stand working on their "so-called" high-tech LOL network / internet / web!! It is a BIG JOKE!! I mean you should see how this things runs as compared to something REAL. But . . . then again . . . I guess you already know! :-) LOL -- I AM TELLING YOU CINCINNATI SUCKS BIG TIME!

  • Can you send your pictures to the internet or your e-mail address?

  • can i use skype in this phone?using wifi?

  • i had the 6085 and it worked without any problems only the camera was bad, but it was fast and reliable. the only difference between it the 6086 is the wifi i think.

  • i like this phone!

  • am calling 4rm nigeria and i bought it last year august and it,s still standard.i luv dis phone very much espacialy the battery,it last.the only problem is the flex.so nokia keep it up.more grease to ur elbow.thnxs.

  • I love 6086 nokia phone its so cute and works very well!!!!

  • this fone is good but the camera doenst work longer

  • I had this phone since december last year (2007) and still working fine for me. I droped it many times, it has plenty of scratches but it still hangs on very good. It shows correctly the times of calls. No problems with the mic or speakers, nor with the display or battery. True i use it only for calls and messages, but i think this is what phones are made for.

  • I have had three of these phones and they all had the same problem. I had insurance on them so i kept getting replacements but these phones are defective. They always get a issue where they shut off and then cant read the sim card any longer.

  • A total piece of crap, I had that phone and nothing is good about it. Nokia is going down with the day to day phone. You need to buy the Nokia at more than $500 to have a OK quality. Since they have introduce folding phones nothing is going good. I rather pay more $ for a phone that works!

  • I have had the phone for about 3 months. During the first week it dropped from the height of my desk onto the floor while in belt case (body glove case). The outer LCD display failed. The phone worked OK, there was not case damage This week after charging all night the phone failed about 10 minutes into the call. Total shutdown no response even with a new battery and a rest attempt. T-Mobile says it will not honor the 12 M warrantee because the LCD was damage. Im using my 3 year old Virgin Mobile Phone until issue is resolved.

  • I have the Nokia 6086 through Cincinnati Bell Wireless and am constantly having problems staying connected to the wifi network and being able to dial my home phone number. I've had to call their support line at least 6 times since I've had the wireless modem. It's ridiculous. I don't think it's the phone, I'm pretty sure it's their crappy network. Even when I'm not on the wifi network, I still have many problems with the phone such as bad voice quality, not receiving text messages, many dropped calls, busy network messages and poor reception. I've even had poor reception in parts of Downtown Cincinnati. There are many Cincinnati Bell dead zones throughout Hamilton County. I like not having a contract, but it's not worth it. I'm going back to Verizon. I never had these problems with them.

  • I totally agree with you guys. The Nokia 6086 wifi phone is very cheap, the sound quality is poor, and the wifi signal is very finnicky. Cincinnati Bell's GSM reception is really bad as well, even in the city. I am always getting dropped calls, having poor voice quality (cut-outs, and echoes), network busy messages, and not receiving voice mails. They desperately need to spend money to upgrade their aging network and to expand their local coverage. I never had problems like this with Verizon or Nextel. I was so upset with their service that I called their corporate headquarters downtown to complain. Calling 611 is useless. I encourage everyone else to do the same-if enough people complain, maybe something will be done about these problems.

  • i think this phone is average. especially, for this time and age it's time for an upgrade! if you dont give a crap, then here ya go. but you can get a much better phone for FREE in Japan. this phone has that blue oldskool screen. its just a little hard to use. camera sucks. the organization of folders also sucks. i like the speaker phone. blah.

  • I have Cincinnati Bell and have this phone for about a year now. I agree with some of the other complaints where the wifi is flakier than the regular cell reception. I do get occasional cut outs at home but overall I am satisified. The main plus of the phone is the WIFI connection and when I was in Costa Rica and Canada, I was able to make and receive local telephone calls with no cell signal and an open wifi only. I can't wait to take it to asia and test it out.

  • I am extremely disappointed that this model does not record dates and times of calls, texts etc... In my opinion that is a very critical feature of having a cell phone.

  • Kenneth, Like you, I'm having many problems with Cincinnati Bell's service and my Nokia 6086. I think it's a good phone, its the Cincinnati Bell network that's really bad. It's outdated and poorly managed. Plus, they don't know how to keep up with changing technology. I'm constantly having problems with the wifi with dropped calls, cut-outs, bad voice quality, and not getting voice mails. I would avoid Cincinnati Bell at all costs. I am switching service next week because I am so unhappy with their customer service and network. Good luck with your phone!

  • I also have a Nokia 6086 from Cincinnati Bell (Hell!) and I've had nothing but problems with it. I truly think it's their crappy wifi service/network causing it.Their network is outdated and poorly managed. I'm constantly having dropped calls, poor sound quality, and cut-outs on my wifi and gsm service. This all started the third day I had the phone! I've since had it replaced and the new phone is doing these things as well! You are right-their customer service is useless, and they have no idea what they are talking about. I've called them numerous times. I am definitely going to switch to Verizon. Good luck with your new phone.

  • I was hoping to find other reviews on here with similar experiences, but in the off-chance this helps someone else - we've had a horrible time with this phone. My daughter and I both have this model, and while mine has been fine (I actually don't use it as much as my teenager) my daughter has had hers replaced once and repaired once within one year of owning it, and it still doesn't work. The display screen randomly cuts out, and believe me the battery's been replaced, phone's been replaced, nothing solves this problem. It's so completely useless to me now I'm going to have to buy her a different phone. And I'm beyond pissed at Cincinnati Bell for their complete lack of customer service.

  • wifi phone

  • The rejected sim card is either you didnt put it in properly (the slightest slant or irregularity ) problem wth the sim holder cracked sim card (EXTREMLY RARE)

  • as a standard flip phone for a nothing fancy but it works attitude great functions not the most features but it has wifi and you can use that to connect to skype so theres plenty of options if i was travinling id buy this on my trip and leave my iclone atr home and use it for skype

  • I thinkk it's the bestt phone for the middle class peoples...............! it has all the essential entertainment features such as camera ,fm stereo radio ,stereo music player and price is also very low.

  • Had it for less than 2 weeks, could barely hear anyone on the phone. The people I called said that the phone would drop out occasionally. Only used it as a cell phone, never tried WiFi. Very cute design, but cute doesn't make it easier to hear people.

  • can u browse the web with the WIFI feature or can you only use the wifi feature to make calls with t-mobile thanks

  • it is very lovly mobiles

  • I switched to T-Mobile from At&t in November. Since then I have had nothing but problems. First the Hot spot service was down for 3 weeks. Due to bad weather in Washington. After that was fixed I have not had consistent Hot-Spot service yet. I too have called several times and get several answers. The latest is that the phone has a software problem. That there is no resolution date for this problem. They then gave me a $20.00 credit for my next bill. That does not help me with my horrible service at home. What I did learn is if I take my battery out I will receive temporary WiFi. They call it a hard reboot.

  • Its a good phone but for some reason it is rejecting my sim card. everytime i turn the phone on it says "SIM card rejected"

  • Transition from GSM to WiFi degraded slowly after few months. Requires everyday booting. Music player shuts off when flip is closed;leaving flip open is pocket makes no sense;a bad design. Battery degraded over few fews months. Handsfree set sucks, bad quality audio;volume rocker, memory-insert-Lid, feel cheap. Pros: key-buttons, loud speaker

  • I have had the Nokia 6086 phone for 7 months now and it keeps loosing connectivity at home. It also has problems finding the wifi service when I get home (using the T-moblie HotSpot@home router). I called T-mobile several times and get a different excuse each time. One technician told me it was the sim card, the other one told me it was the Nokia phone. Then they tried to make my _buy_ a Samsung phone for $179. But I paid so much for the system in the first place, it should work! Then they replaced the Nokia phone with the same model but a new one. Voila! The problem still persists. I live in an area where there is no tower, so it seemed like a really good idea to get this system, but the number of dropped calls and unavailable service is really not worth it. Anyone have a solution besides canceling ($200 fee)?

  • I have had isuues with the phone's inability to log on to T-Mobile's WiFi network. I have called T-Mobile several times and chewed on them to get their system fixed. It seams to be working because this problem is much better. Don't put up with sloppy service!

  • I have a 6086 with Cincinnati Bell Wireless, when connect at home thur my wifi system, cannot csll my home phone number, Cinainnati Bell be working on the promblem Oct. of 2007, they do not known how to fixed it. Phone does not tell you when have Voice Mail. Cannot send picture over email very easy. If my promblem are not fixed by Jan. 15, 2008 I will be going to a new phone company for cell, home phone, internet.

  • I have rated this phone terribly for several reasons: first, it advertises mp3 playback but for all intents and purposes, it is worthless as an mp3 player. the player will stop if the phone is closed, won't advance to the next song automatically, can't accept playlists, etc etc. sure, it _can_ play an mp3 but i was hoping it might actually be worth doing so with it. to me, i feel like the mp3 support was just purely a marketing ploy. second, this phone is locked down so badly java apps are practically worthless because _none_ other than the default installed ones can access any data. gmail's awesome java app? worthless. google maps or any of the other map java apps? worthless. it tells you to change the permissions for the java app to allow data, but this simply cannot be done on this phone, not even the hackers have figured out how to work around the lock down that has destroyed the [potential] usefullness of this phone. so great features don't mean anything if nokia is going to cripple this phone, and until they stop crippling/locking down all the useful functions on their phones, i won't buy them again. my motorola V3 didn't have any of these problems...

  • Here is another glitch I have found. I have gone around downtown Houston and "collected" saved WiFi networks so that as I would go from place to place the phone would automatically connect to the various WiFi networks. After a while my phone quit automaticaly connecting to the networks, even my home network. I found out that there is a limit on the number of saved networks you can have. I you have somewhere around 10 saved networks the phone will stop automaticaly connecting. Deleting the extra saved networks solved the connection problem. Anyone else have this problem?

  • I am using the 6086 WiFi connection and it works OK. I got rid of the T-Mobile Hot Spot router and went back to my Microsoft "B" router because I could not get the Hotspot router to work with secruity enabled - It was a open connection. I have also added a range extender to my network to pick up the dead spots in my house. My problem is that the phone will not transition from WiFi to T-Mobile network under any WiFi connection. I get disconnected. Anyone else having this problem?

  • I am also disappointed by the music player on the T-Mobile Nokia 6086. I looked up on Nokia's web site and the 6086 is suppose to have a "real" music player. I also asked Nokia about the missing music player and they said that the carriers can modify the software (add/delete) on the phone. You will also see some extra junk/trial games on the phone that T-Moble wants to sell you and you can't delete. With only 4 or 5 mb of memory I suspect T-moble deleted the music player and added junk games. Thanks T-Mobile.

  • I am definately disappointed by the music player on the T-Mobile Nokia 6086. Playing songs one by one is absurd. How can they call that a music player?

  • i was wondering if you use your minutes if you are on a wifi connection for example your home router..i was just wondering if its free or not. if you dont buy the hotspot plan..and i was also wondering if anyone is bothered by the music player..and that you have to manually play the next song after one has finished..it doesnt continously play.

  • it would have been better if i typed msgs first before adding a contact to send to.sometimes u hit send when msgs are not yet complete..not good

  • Its a good fone! But still havent been able to find a wallet or cover for it as most retailers dont have the type that fits it!

  • Does anyone know how to keep the display light on for as long as I want, not just for 15 seconds? I do Field testing at night with the phone and need it to stay "lit" for at least 1 to 2 minutes.

  • I have the Nokia 6086. I use it on wifi all the time. It works pretty well. Occasionally there are some hiccups in the signal on wifi. My phone doesn't connect automatically all the time. The networks are saved to my preferred networks list and have great signal strength. It just won't connect. I have to manually go through the menus to get it to connect to my networks. I am still figuring it out.

  • Setting WiFi Available Networks Options View Details It will list a number of items including the phone MAC.

  • please can someone tell me the meaning and usage of wifi dis my e-mail address [email protected].

  • Does anyone have any idea of how I can find out what my phones MAC address is? I need to connect to a WiFi with MAC exclusion, so I need to add the phone's MAC number to the safe list, but I can't find it anywhere. Thanks!

  • why nokia made this phone what the diff between it and 6085 i think no think else 4 mg internal become 5 mg internal am i right!!!

  • All the phone needs is a wireless internent connection and it will connect to to the internet. If the WIFI is password protected you will need to enter and save the password. You can save the WIFI connection and it will automatically connect the next time you are in range. For the Home I recommend the T-Mobile Linsys Router. It connects faster than my Microsoft. I am using both because I did not want to rearrange my computers and router settings until my 14 day grace period has expired. It works great, but I am having trouble going from WIFI to the T-Mobile network; I keep droping the call. Does anone have any experiance. This is not a deal killer, but they did say it would transfer but it hasn't happened yet. I have had the internet crash the phone several times on certain pages; and I am wondering if the operating system needs to be updated. Any ideas on how to use the Music player?

  • Can anyone please let me know how to make VOIP calls with this phone? Do we need any VOIP service or just internet connection is enough?

  • Some of these responses are truly comical.A $50 or a $99 cell phone isn't going to have it all. You need only 2 things with a cell. To make a call and to receive a call. Thats it. I'll bet most of these reviews are written by people with more tattos and body fish hooks than brains.

  • If this phone is so poor why is there a waiting list? Who gives a stuff about the camera Hallo! Its a phone. The VOIP is the best thing . I cannot wait to get mine. It is solidly made and the keys are easy to dial with battery life is good. Sorry to those people who expect it to cook their breakfast for them as well and talk a lot of twoddle.

  • If you wanna more resolution buy a pocket pc, Ppl think their phone must ve used for anything but to speak, I just want a fone with voip and wlan, and this phone is the cheaper, if this phone werent available, I must buy all shit ultra camera + ultra display and it cost a lot. This is your fault damn dumb ppl buying useless things. If you want to take a phone, buy a camara, its always better!, better quality and functionality If you want to se a video, use your monitor, buy a psp, be creative, your phone isnt for that. If you want to hear music, buy an ipod! If you want a phone try a cellphone!

  • I just got this phone today. Hooked up very easily to my wifi network; I did not need the router offered by T-Mobile. Not a great screen, but it plays MP3s and the camera is intuitive. The main reason I got this phone, of course, is the VOIP (UMA). No cell phones work where I live, so now I have my own cell tower, in effect. These phones have their own MAC address, so if you do your wifi security by MAC inclusion (like me), it will work. Better sound quality than my home (voip) phone line, says one person I called.

  • Wake up GSM Arena this phone is out million years ago and is still in coming soon section.

  • this phone is now available from T-mobile USA

  • Please pay attention: The wifi is not for browsing the internet on a small screen. It's for VOIP. I have terrible reception in my house, and now I have great reception because it works over my wireless network. All you have to do is enter your key if you have encryption on your access point and it works. Also, you don't get charged for minutes over the wifi. Why are people so obsessed with the camera? If you want to take pictures, get a camera. You are not going to take award winning photos with a cell phone.

  • This phone is just superb.Cant wait to get a hold of it....a little ish ish though on the memory capacity

  • Nokia 6086 is very good phone . his sound is very good& image quality is very nice..

  • gee you all sound like you want everything for nothing!!!! let me tell you all that for the price($129aus) you are lucky to have: bluetooth, expandable memory and v.o.i.p. stop being tight arses and expect to get what you pay for!!

  • Had this phone for 4 days the memory on it was rubbish you have to buy an expansion card i only had 6 text ansd the memory was full also only a couple of pics (sent it straight back).

  • The WIFI/ UMA function is that you can use this phone for VOIP, for dutch users, check Orange Unique.

  • This is a basic but very functional phone. I have the K800 with takes care of the snapshots and the E70 which takes care of business needs. This phone would be a wonderful addition. I'm buying this as soon as it's released in the Philippines.

  • Why have Wifi, with such a small screeen, internet willl not be much fun!

  • this is siemens

  • hi

  • this phone is on the bulky side ive alredy seen it!!! very thick and big.... but it compensate it with its features....

  • 128 x 160 pixel screen and wi-fi. that s interesting combinations.

  • well i think you didn't know SE phones well because i can think that you are a nokia loyalist for some years... if you think 3410 is better, then i should say, 3410 is the most sucking phone i have used as well as 3310, why? because of sudden fall in my pocket that disabled and damaged the LCD... and yeah, i am careless with using my phones, but when i decided to use SE, especially my 10 months K300 as well as HTC tanager(if you don't know it, it is Smart amazing phone from our country) and K700, and sharp GX10i and LG U8330 3g phone... all of them failed me only in the joystick problem except the sharp/LG which has 4-way navigation.. but i have a remedy to it and it's very simple... thanks to @Doul from K750 thread... you wil notice that i have no high-end camera/musicphones at now coz i have a digicam,mp3 player and PC... that is practicality for me...:-) i have also used 8210,3310,3610,3530 and 3650 as well... and let me tell you, the monochrome nokia phones failed me so much- in signal... if you are in philippines, just ask anyone who have experienced no-signal,damaged ICs and LCD/Keypad mat malfunctions in their monochrome nokias... and they will surelly tell you all of those cons... have tried nokia jav phones as well also, and it is good, though very inferior to my K300 4-blink error as our technicians here is calling: the most frequent problem in S60-6.0 smartphones like 7650,3650, and more later phones i admit s60-3.0 9.1 os from nokias are more stable though sometimes buggy... but i love n-series and E-series nokias, and let me tell you again, none of my SE friends have regret buying SEs as they are nokia freaks also... though interface not as user-friendly as nokia, but as advanced/ graphical as symbian... please man, just be very experienced before judging something you didn't tested well yet. i will not deffinitely say that SE is the best unless i haven't tested most non-smartphones... and that is why nokia is concentrating at smartphones, coz they are really inferior to samsung, Lg, sharp, motorola, and SE in terms of features and looks anyway i have no intention of ruining this thread with my bible-long post, coz i am not a nokia 6086 user, but i have just speak with my opinion... and contradicted you opinion regarding K300 as well as other SE java phones, peace man:-)

  • just because it's new doesn't mean it's chock-full of features. i rather get this simple phone than those flashy, expensive ones which is a magnet for thieves.

  • Excellent phone for simple users

  • yes sef...i have a nokia 6131..tel me a sony-ericson witch haz a better display......16 milion colors...like a tv...;)nokia are the best...yes not all of its phone are good...but overall nokia is the no.1..sony has 4-5 phone..ho can keep up with nokia..the rest...rubish..and do not compare k300i with a nokia:)..cuz a 3410 is better than a k300i;) a had a k300 and after 3 months he got on fire:) when i tride 2 charge him and the quality of sony...be serios..they have 2 work on that...srry 4 my english..

  • sorry 786, but can't agree to what you've said... the crap z310 you are saying is way better than this crapier phone... what's the use of wifi for a non-os phone? voice telephony over wifi is good, but eats alot of battery, nokia looses to SE when it comes to lesser battery consumption... another, why they bring back the crap 500 phonebook entries? all SE's have 1000+ phonebooks,.. in java technology you can see so much difference,.. SE Z310 has been equiped with the latest java platform-7 with added more jsr profiles and this one? another screen of this phone is 262k, wow!!! but look it's C-STN!!!... what a mere crapper thing!!!, they didn't have even 3D graphical environment in their menus as SE's have since K700... even the low-end K300/K310 have 3d animations... the only disadvantage i could see from Z310 is the lack of MS-slot and STN screen which is explainable for it is a mid/low-end phone with a style... and this? it has wifi and card-slot but very crap design, phonebook, java, user friendly but poor interface and the worst of all: mediocre battery compared to SE's now say again the word crap to SE... you nokia freaks can't just accept the mere fact that SE leads non-os and nokia leads samrtphones only...

  • Wifi with a tiny screen & only 256k color screen.... is it just me or what...??

  • nice phone and features, the only thing that prevents me from praising this one is the very very poor display... K310/20 Z310 and Z530 have even better display.. compete it with a Z610 or z550/8 and this one eats dust a lot, only Wifi is good i think but how long? home come nokia could put a high price tag in it with that such a mediocre display? better get 6136 for it would have lower price and is already available, with better screen... does nokia critically thinks of their phone lineups?

  • i say this is very nice littel mobilephone

  • TO ALL THE NOOBS WHO SAY > WIFI IS NOT NEEDED FOR THIS PHONE.. OR WHY THE HELL IT HAS WIFI JUST CUS ITS A LOW LEVEL FEATURE PHONE >> Nokia's 6086 is not just an ugly clamshell that let's you talk over the Internet, it's an ugly clamshell that let's you talk over the Internet seamlessly. Utilizing UMA (unlicensed mobile access), the 6086 can connect to service via the 802.11 b/g standard. This allows "for flawlessly switching from quad-band GSM to WLAN coverage, as the environment demands... making them completely transparent to the consumer." Let's face it, we may be dork techies, but there are way more nerdy things we can be wasting time with than the signal of our mobile phones. Heck, they give technology a bad/good name. Drool for this tiny powerhouse overseas at 200 euros...we just can't get enough UMA.

  • Yeppers nokia have once again proved they are losing the plot with this handset.

  • I guess this phone would be practical, for buisness guys who don't need a fancy camera, but would take advantage of the WiFi & the nice calm shell look. The mono display is also quite practical since it's always on, unlike other displays which have to be turn on 2 c miscalls & so on. Still I would like to have a phone like this wz a 1.3 MegaPixel Cam & a flash.

  • hi guys idont think that this phone is very essential to be released it realy just like any low quality phone come from the big phone maker nokia but the only diffrence is the wifi and memory card slot that is the difference thats only !!!!!!!! please nokia don not release this model no body need that device

  • I find it hard to believe that a phone like this has WiFi. Quality of camera isnt good. Not the nicest phone but it's is the nicest outa the 4 new announcments

  • This fon is built with less feature to make it affordable... I wanna get this fon for my extra sim (BACK UP FON)

  • WI-FI but a very poor display. this is the most contadictory phone ever.

  • Great phone but screen really limits is usability, funnyest thing is on Nokia website the 6086 is marketed as having a ''big screen'', Nokia must have a comedian working on its website.

  • I can't belive this that this phone even will be out. Nokia if you wanna launch this on the market put at least an 1.3 mp camera. Nobody will buy it just for wifi, or is Nokia turning in a mass production phone manufacturer, like Samsung ? Do not copy Samsung with those x640,x460 kind of phones, lots of diferent numbers but the same phone !

  • what a waste!!having all wonderful software such as GPRS,HSCSD,EDGE & WLAN in one phone yet NO 3G n using VGA camera.....pls anyone look into the matter.tx

  • cool with WLAN but..with CSTN 262K..?? >_

  • WiFi is mainly there for VOIP

  • How can u take advantage of WIFI whith such a small and low resolution screen?..WIFI will just boost up the price with no gain in functionality...

  • Looks really great!

  • a desaster copy of Siemens CF62...buy this for features...but there are other cells which are eye catching n have some what same features

  • Nice mid/low-end... But WiFi?? Even some N-Series dont have that... :S

  • looks not-too-attractive. midrange.
