  • Absoloute lump of poo, this is my first Xiaomi and last the thing has a mind of it's own bluetooth keeps turning on after being set to off I have tried everything to sort it gets on my nerves, proximity sensor not good was on phone other day and my ear managed to put the caller on hold. Just little niggly things that have put me off this brand.

  • bad software for this phone, 32bit mode software 64bit soc. them developers just don't care, they said its complicated because 64bit software OTA updates is not possible. stupid move putting 32bit software in the first place, limiting the soc performance and overall experience. you will regret buying this phone if you carefully use it. no gyro, bad software. but what'd you expect from a entry level phone. stupid move

  • Yes i am having same problem and fornthat i sold the phone and took new same model Redmi 6 but found same issue, and still not resolved by MI team and rejected by just upgrading software everytime, i went 7 to i times and still my phonenis under warranty.   • I have had the Redmi 6 for a little over three months now. After having almost every generation of iPhone since the original came out, when my 7+ crapped out on me I decided to go the affordable route with this. It's taken some acclimatization, but I can confidently say I will never go back to Apple products. I really want to pass this one down to my grandma and get myself the Mi 9T now though. I would prefer a slightly more powerful device and better cameras. But at this price I'm not sure this phone can be beat.

  • Hmmm... 3 days with minimal use? Not sure what "minimal" use refers to. I recently bought a new iPhone 7. It was on sale at T-Mobile from 450 down to 360 so it was a good deal. I upgraded from an 8 year old Android 2.2 :-) My iPhone 7 with minimal use (because that is how I use it) goes for 8 days! And that is a fact. Of course since I don't know anyone, my cell phone signal is always turned off. I don't have data plan for I don't need it. I only use it with Wi-Fi, and when there's no signal, I turn it off. Display brightness is about 1/5th. This way I easily get 7-8 days out of it.

  • It's a very nice phone. Durable, reliable and inexpensive. It can handle pretty much anything a regular user would need and is pretty good for gaming, as well. Battery lasts quite a while. On my 7 month old phone battery can last 3 days with minimal use. Highly recommended.

That's the cons I have found in years: *back plastic it scratched whenever it got cover behind *should not use while it charging, it would be the messy touch itself *gaming is okay, but it got some bit of lagging on budget game sort as hungry shark world. and need to low some graphic on games. *camera is good for me but more of the time got annoying blur and noise on my result. And yes (pros), It is an a-okay daily phone for normal usage but I would not suggest for the amateur photographer like me.

As for speed and gaming, all games around 1 gig And 500 mb play without any lags. Battery 8/10, speed 10/10, camera 9/10 and led notification, regular updates, second space, quick finger print, just extra awsome features for this price.

  • I buy it yesterday and great! I am gamer. Playing vainglory with no lag, smooth gpu render, 4G stable, the heat is just "warm". And I love it in my hand, not too wide. Don't hate this mediatek version, because it punch SD cortex with adreno which more heat a lot. This phone is just styleless.

  • Xiaomi has software problems, usually after 1-3 updates something is crashing in software (usually some things related to gapps) and starts draining the battery. A lot of people are affected after upgrade to MIUI 10, plus a lot of other bugs. All these disappear after a healthy factory reset. I use Xiaomi phones since 2013 and I know what I am talking about. Start complaining about battery and other stuff AFTER you factory reset, following a major update. Cheers.

  • It´s a good phone. The battery cherge in 2 hour (30 minutes to half charge). and the endurance it´s a full day even playing more than one hour. It doesn´t have giroscope, that´s very bad.

The only problem I have is that, I cannot transfer my Google address book to this phone. I tried to get instructions by googling the issue, but, nothing worked.   • I received this phone about a week ago. I paid $210 Canadian. Most mid range phones in Canada go for anywhere between $400 and $800 here. So far it is the fastest phone I have ever owned, not that I have ever owned a high end phone but still. The screen is great. Super responsive. The vibes are short and sweet. The battery isn't anywhere near as bad as some of these reviews claim it to be. It lasts longer than my old Samsung did in it's prime. The brightness is adaptive and display is Crystal clear. I don't ever have less than 2 bars for my network. The 4g is excellent. I can play high demand games no problem without any signs of slowing down what so ever. 4 gigs of RAM. AWESOME!

  • Great overall. The UI change a bit when you try to change between apps. The gesture are better (copying some Apple gestures), the notifications are better looking but harder to delete. You should check the Xiaomi website to get full details about it.

  • I get you, I've used mediatek before and would prefer a snapdragon mi phone anytime. I am currently using this and I am very pleased with it, mediatek has vastly improved believe me. i don't think xiaomi would use the A22 on the redmi 6a and the P22 on the redmi 6 if they thought they were not up to par.

  • I feel for you. I am alien too. Under 70mm width. Under 140mm height. Should have been Rule 101 on phone design. The XZ2 Compact is the only phone that's operable comfortably with one hand. That even the iPhone SE is discontinued surely means that the world wants phones that need two hands to operate, don't fit comfortably in a pocket or looks like a tea tray when placed on a table. Alien or not, compact phones aren't on this planet. As for the Redmi 6, forget the 5, it seems like a downgrade even from the Redmi 4.

  • Xiaomi strategy seems to be in a mess. This brand is best known for bringing in the best value for customer. Highest specs at lowest prices. However in 2018 this seems to be changing not just for Xiaomi but also for other brands like Realm, Honor etc. If you see the trend in 2018, lot of phones which are successors have been in fact downgrades. Realme 2 vs Realme 1. Redmi 6 vs Redmi 5. Redmi 5 which I have has a metal build, a larger screen and a Qualcomm processor. With the 6, Xiaomi have gone in for plastic, a smaller screen and Mediatek processor. I think the reason behind this is the Xiaomi decision to open retail outlets. Now the brand is no longer price competitive as before due to the increased overheads of managing and staffing these stores. And in retrospect and from a consumer point of view it seems to be a wrong decision. Stores only make sense if they increase availability. But the Mi store I have next door is most of the times either out of stock, or don't have the latest models. And other sellers down the street have newer phones like the 6 series. I just hope that Xiaomi doesn't go the Samsung / Sony / Apple way, because if it does, there will always be another Chinese brand to fill in its shoes.

  • I bought the redmi 6 yesterday. The camera was laggy and the videos played on the phone were very oversaturated. Even though it is a dual camera i didn't like its performance. Everything else was very good. Snappy finger print and face unlock. Good size. But due to the oversaturated videos and little laggy response when using it i switched to realme 2. Realme 2 is a treat. I love it and according to my experience it is much better than redmi 6. So please think before you buy any phone.

  • This is my second day with my new Redmi 6, 32gb version. Awesome mobile at the price Range. Excellent display, the helio P22 give smooth performance, great battery life, no heating issue, fingerprint sensor working very quickly, didn't trying face unlock. The dual camera working good, photo's take clearly also record full HD videos. Overall amazing phone value for money.

  • Hi guys, just wanna share my experience with a mediatek processor, I've been using a mediatek processor phone for about 2 years, I've used Meizu M3e and it has a Helio P10 chipset but I don't know what the GPU is, All I can say is the mediatek with the P series are great because it doesn't even lag, I'm a very heavy gamer, the mediatek P10 is perfect, and this P22 could be very better because it has 12 nano meter process which means it will be very great in battery life, you will feel like its a 4000 mah battery, plus the price of redmi 6 is good, BTW guys I've upgraded my phone to Meizu again and its Meizu m6 note, it has snapdragon 625, I can't really tell the difference between my M3e and m6 note because Mediatek P10 is great in handling heat on your phone, I'm just sharing my experience guys, mediatek is also good, just don't buy the X series of mediatek, thanks and sorry for the English I hope I helped those people who hates mediatek.

  • ZTE's problems with Qualcomm/US govt have scared Chinese manufacturers, so you better get used seeing more mediatek soc's in your phones. Of course they still use SD's as usual, but increasingly they want more secure soc's what are less risky when looking at risk of sanctions... be it because trade wars or something else. Mediatek is also slowly getting their act together and sooner than later most of their cheap soc's are less than 12nm therefore offering better battery life, etc. Competition is a good thing.

  • Helio P22 is build based on 12nm process, it means more power efficiency, hence smaller battery There is nothing wrong with Mediatek P22, I personally happy with Xiaomi who often bring newest Chipset to their phone (Helio P22 on Redmi 6, Snapdragon 710 on Mi8 SE, 636 on Redmi Note 5)
