I purchased a Blu phone Studio G model for my son as a Xmas gift for 2016. All of a sudden the right side of the screen's touch pad does not work. He cannot pick up calls, or make calls. We have had this phone for all of two weeks. It has not been dropped or water damaged. Why is it doing this? Has anyone else had this issue? I am so frustrated with this device and I will NEVER buy this brand again!

This is the absolute worst piece of... machinery that I have EVER encountered. First of all, in turning it on, the voice over will not shut up. You have to refer to the manual to do so. At least, I'm assuming you can troubleshoot there, because, secondly, it did not come with a manual, you have to find it online. But I couldn't read the manual, anyway because the stupid thing won't swipe or scroll. The tap, double-tap feature is more tedious than its worth. All this while the internal voice over reads absolutely everything that happens. Never have I wanted to set something on fire so badly, but the voice-over would probably just narrate the temperature. Piece of trash!!!

I am having issues picking up the phone when it's asleep. By the time I slide to unlock (and accidentally hit the quick responses sometimes, that send the caller to voicemail) and get to the option "call" or "decline", the answer goes to voicemail. Even when I click "answer", it won't work. Same on my mom's phone, so we are doing something wrong. Anyone had the same issue?

I have a studio c and while listening to music the screen went black and now won't come on. When alarm goes off or someone calls the screen starts working again until auto shut off then its black again

I've only had my phone for about a month and a half. All of the sudden my phone won't charge. It says its charging but it will stay on 30% for hours. Got this phone as a gift a few months ago. Two days ago the phone just went dim for no reason. I didn't even realize it as I thought the phone conked out. I have to cover the phone and my head with a blanket to see on it or turn out the lights. The bright is on its highest in the display setting. I've turned it on and off and nothing. I just wanted to inform users of the Blue studio 5.5, if you download Netflix, you will have problems with your WiFi and mobile data. I'm not sure why it does this, but it took me a factory reset, and redownloading everything, uninstalling Netflix to finally realise it was Netflix that was causing the problem. I wouldn't have had to factory reset my phone, if I would have just uninstalled my last download. I really hope this helps people. Whatever you do DO NOT DOWNLOAD Netflix. (It doesn't matter how much free space you have, so don't try uninstalling any apps, will not work still)

This happened to me too! I took the battery out, and waited a couple minutes to put it back in. Next I held do the power button to turn it back on and my display came up as if nothing had ever happen. I hope these helps!

Well, I'm gonna try to get my money back from this stupid cellphone. I'm absolutely disgusted with Blu Products and don't recommend that any of you should ever buy from them. My phone started having issues; the screen would go blank, calls would be dropped, and it would crash and restart randomly. When I sent it for a repair, the first time they sent my replacement phone to the wrong address, then when I finally DID receive my new phone, there was no battery, charger, or even back cover to it. After three weeks of waiting for my back cover and new battery I'm absolutely done with them.

About battery life, I just have to say that, when I buy something, I always read everything, and BLU is very clear, they promise you a 30 days monster battery duration (small letters says: "while on standby") so technically I did not get fooled by their statement. Full usage battery life is as low as many other smartphones in the industry, just because as other companies, they need you customer to consume a lot of batteries. Another topic: in my country if a gadget goes to hell due to factory issues during warranty time, customer has 3 options (as well as reseller), 1st, repair, if spare part is not available in 15 natural days, then customer has the option to either get total money refund or have a brand new gadget (same model same everything, except when that model is no longer available, so you will get an improved model). Obviously you will also have a proper diagnostics document once you send your gadget back to repair, if reseller's labs fails to send you this proper report, you will get the chance to go to National Customer Comission add your sue and you will also get either your brand new item or your money back. Some other cool stuff about my country Customer Care Law is that if your gadget has 365 days factory issue warranty and it fails on day 364 and repair can't be set, then new gadget replacement will get a brand new 365 warranty!!! That's how it is supposed to work. So in this case, if a BLU stupid-phone fails you and reseller is not able to solve your issue, s(he) will need to provide you with a brand new phone, if you agree with him/her you can get an equivalent brand on the market and case is closed! That's what happened to a friend of mine. She got a brand new Samsung smartphone. By the way all of this happened in Costa Rica. Believe it or not!

I had a BLU Studio 5.3, I consider this smartphone not so smart as others in market, however for a very cheap price you can get some good stuff. It's a shame that Android does not have compatibility with Flash Player. You miss a lot of content on web due to this. My Smartphone slip away and nothing bad happened, just when my wife sat on it, screen got a crack, but it still worked properly, then I went to the beach and it got lots of sand on it and earpiece went to hell, so I had to use speaker feature for phone calls along with my headphones attached to Studio 5.3. Now I repaired its screen and earpiece by an incredible cheap price at BLU authorized reseller, I gave that phone to my mother and it is just like a brand new one!!!! She is also happy with its performance.

I purchased this phone about 7 months ago and it has already made a trip back to Florida for repair. (touch screen sensor went)... the latest problem is text messages are not going through and to CAP OFF THE FRUSTRATION.... Now it won't make phone calls... I have to remove the battery, wait about 5 minutes, restart the phone and then PRAY it works. Here's the copy of my latest email to Blu about my Blu Studio 5.5 phone. Had problems from the beginning...major enough so that my phone has been useless to me. Screen problems, touch problems, inability to text or download data. I have no hope that Blu will do the honorable thing and replace my phone. Dear Blu, I am sending this email to express my great disappointment in your product (Blu Studio 5.5 phone) and your lack of prompt and reliable customer service. I have had problems with the phone since I purchased it on April 28. I tried to get help from the store only to discover that they don't have anything to do with your product...just sell it with no assistance. I tried calling your company numerous times and then tried email. Since my phone problems were so many and continuing to surface, I knew a phone conversation would have been the best first step. However, I never did get any answers or even suggestions via phone and only got a person after many tries of being put on hold to music for very long periods of time. My phone's problems were bad enough that it was not possible to use it for my small farm business. Since the keypad was constantly glitching, I even began having trouble making a simple phone call. THE PHONE NEVER WORKED PROPERLY FROM THE DAY I PURCHASED IT. Over the time I was attempting to get help from your company, the phone continued to get worse. Finally, the screen just went black and has not worked at all since. As you can see by the emails I sent, I tried to get help many times. Finally, you asked for information and I responded quickly. Then days passed with no response from you and I only got a response after I called and explained my problems with lack of response. Now, you have told me via email to mail in my phone so that you can look at it to see if it is covered under your warranty. You also indicated that it would take at least 30 days for you to make your determination. I CAN NOT WAIT ANOTHER MONTH with no phone. So now, I am forced to purchase another phone and have lost valuable time (and business) because of your Blu phone's major problems. If, by some miracle, someone who cares sees this email, here's what I want: a new phone mailed to me immediately--not the same model as I purchased because I believe it is a very bad one and would not want a repeat of the same problems. But a different model with a good camera and video recorder as I use this phone for my farm advertising. I purchased my phone 2 months ago and very happy... until I discover annoying thing I can't do with it. I am used to the screen dimming after 6 seconds, but can't get used to no being able to download photos I receive in text messages, forwarding text messages, or using certain apps for android devices. Also I had to use my old GPS device's cord to charge this cell because the original plug is too small and won't let this phone charge. I was able to get a decent flip and stand cell case from amazon. It only comes in purple however. Does anyone know what brand of screen protectors would fit this phone?

The internal memory on this phone SUCKS eggs! And there are no ways to do screenshots, atleast i don't think so and the manual doesn't show either. Other than that its a great android for the price, great screen size, slick look and feel, can fall numerous times and not die once you have a screen protector. ,I would advise though to get the new and improved versions Blu has to offer.

I see that everyone seems to have a great phone... I have the Studio 5.3S and all of a sudden the phone stopped ringing and then when I reset it now the touch screen does not work... I called the vendor where I got the phone (Blu website is WORTHLESS) and he told me oh you broke it!!! REALLY... I have had the phone barely two months... I guess I have to wait until Monday Morning and check on a warranty. I think it is a one year warranty... Will post after they have handled this for me. $260 is alot of money to throw away!!!!

It would appear to be a common problem with the phone I had this problem along with a friend of mine who bought this phone first I bought a new 32gig micro sd card (not blu) took off the phone take out the battery put in the new card (don't try to force the card in over the battery) replace the battery turn on phone go to settings scroll to storage mount card and I was back in business.

I don't know if it has spare cases, but I did buy a 3800mAh extended battery for my blu 5.3 studio that came with it's own case to accommodate the larger battery. the case helps protect the phone should it fall. according to the package it fits the D500, D500a, D500i, D510, D510a & D510i however mine happens to be black I don't think blu makes them in white as yet.hope it helps.

My blue studio 5.3 S is almost perfect except for the texting app normal phones show "hey" then the person replies with "hey" and in that order but on mine it shows all the things the person I'm texting said in one group so its like I'm readim the conversation without what I said but what I said is all grouped together at the top so I'd you read the things I text its like your reading the conversation without my friends input and I don't know how to fix it or if I even can.

I used Blu Studio 5.3 for a couple of months until when my son went to play with the pattern lock but unfortunately the wifi and the data connectivity was not enable. So the system got locked. The disadvantage of the phone is that it has a small internal memory.

Iv'e had my Studio blu a year, and I pulled it out of a in car cradle, then the screen went white. It sounded like it was still working OK, but white screen. So I pulled it apart carefully ( watch the small screws, as the are 2 sizes that fit different hole threads, and watch the ribbon wires ) . I played with the ribbon wire that linked the mother board to the LCD screen, and it worked again. It's been a few days and still going. I think the contact point may have come loose as I suspect the phone flexed when taking out of cradle.

Many people complain about the processor power, I think there are several aspects in this regard. The first is what you want the phone for; I use the phone for its native function, receiving emails and messaging and browsing internet, eventually playing simple games just to kill time or GPS. For all these, the processsor power of this phone is very adequate. The second is the battery life; as we all know, the faster the processor runs, the faster the power drains. Therefore, it's not always advantageous to have a fast processor. In my case, with a 2500 mAs battery and 800 MHz processor speed, I only need to charge the phone twice a week, which is great as I don't need to be bothered with recharging everyday. The third is the cost, this phone is 1/3 cost of the Samsung Note or Note II. Overall, after more than 2.5 months, I still think that I made a good decision in buying this phone rather than the others, I think this phone has the best balance of all things together.

hi jim there is a way to unlock your screenlock. make a call to your phone and unlock it. in call state press the back button and go to settings. try to reset the phone to factory reset. you will lose your data but this is the only way to remove you code from the screen lock.

The display of this phone has problem apparently. I faced a 'liquid' display issue for sometime and it got right itself. No, skype cant be used in this phone. Otherwise, the phone is good except for its weight. Download some apps from googleplay is you should be enjoying this phone. If you install too many applications like battery indicator, call recorder etc. the phone will hang. For email, messaging etc. and for calls, this is too good.

I bought the blu5.3 studio a few days ago and I love the size of it. I actually enjoy using it in open areas but service goes down hill when you get inside a building. The screen resolution is really good(not as good as the note) and the speed is not too bad. The owners manual is a joke, and i still have no clue how to contact customer support. Im on the Tmobile servers and they have subpar signal strength. If you have wifi in your house this phone will perform just fine. BEST PURCHASE FOR THE MONEY, HANDS DOWN!

Running ICS on 512mb and a 600mhz processor can be taxing, especially on such a large screen. What a lot of people don't know is that the homescreen for android phones is an app, so if your brother was opening a lot of apps and not vlosing them properly then what is means is that the phone closed the homescreen app so free up ram and take some of the load of your cpu. Jus close all other open apps and that should fix it. If not then take out the battery for a few minutes then reinsert it to ensure the RAM is completely emptied. Let me know if this helps because I'm not 100% on this and would like to know if my advice works :)

Yes. There is a youtube app for android so you can watch / stream videos from youtube. The quality is ok but could be better but it is satisfactory for a phone with these specs.

The is said to come with 512 rom but really all u get is 200mb rom. I have not any probably with so far but wish that u can set all downloads to memory card automatically. The device manual is of no help and some of the menu options are repititive. It is a good phone for someone who can't afford the higher end android phone but I think the makers should of thought ant increasing the memory and actually equipping it with the speed it is suppose to clock at.

The screen is big but comfortable but the resolution is not as good as other phones in the market. I have one of these phones and except for my network's issues,it's one of the best phones i owe ,and i have a few,like the xperia pro,f480 samsung,and most recent the new samsung ace2[which i should add is still in the box ]i rather use my studio 5.3. i have the 800mhz single sim version about 3 months now and everything works great,the screen is very responsive to touch,resolution is good,camera good(flash only good for pics in dark areas up to 5 ft in my opinion),i have downloaded some apps and speed is still good,with moderate daily use including using wifi battery lasts almost two days,radio and music sounds good,gps with google and my location works good,i am very satisfied with it,good phone for great price.

I have had both the 650MHz and 800MHz versions, and I can say the 800 is definitely much better. On the other hand, I contacted BLU directly, and their tech support staff told me the only difference is a software tweak than over-clocks the 650 to 800. Search for "MTK CPU Control". You will also want to root the phone. I used "Super1Click", after which I installed "Link2SD", which improves the internal memory. I absolutely love my Blu Studio! Now, if only I could find a silicone case and a belt holster for it, (gonna have to make my own!)

yes it comes with king office built in the rom. the only down side of this phone is the internal memory storage for apps. its only limited to 180 mb or so. otherwise the speed and other specs are proportionate to the price.

FYI, I owned an iphone 4s for my at&t network and a samsung galaxy note for my roaming international number from the Philippines. Its so hard to have 2 phones where your friends text you in your iphone and you reply in your galaxy note phone. So i decided to get this dual sim card to put all my simcard together in one phone. Just ordered the white BLU Studio 5.3 from Expansys. It has been great so far. Although it only has a 650MHz processor, it is adequately speedy in day to day use (browsing the web, watching videos, launching apps, etc.). Screen viewing angles are definitely not as good as a Galaxy Note or iPhone, but it is very clear when viewing straight on. Battery life is fantastic - still have 50% left after a day if moderate to heavy use. Overall very pleased so far.

According to BLU website, this phone has only 3.2 MP camera and NOT 5 MP. And also do you guys know when will be the 800MHz version is out and where can i buy it? I asked BLU support and they said that they already released the 800MHz last week.

I emailed BLU sales and they said that the 800 MHz version was just released this week and their distributors should have it available for purcase within the next two weeks. Also according to their website, It has only 3.2 MP and they updated the MHz to 800. Source:

I've had the blu studio for a week. Great phone/tablet, is pretty fast. I thought the 650 mhz would be too slow, but after using it, I would compare the speed to the Motorola Atrix 2. I also bought a rubberized case that fits the samsung galaxy note. It's not a perfect fit, but works with the blu studio.

The phone is built fairly well I would give it a 7/10 compared to a Samsung galaxy note. No major complaints about the phone so far I do have a Samsung galaxy note as well. The sound quality from the headphones are good quality with good bass output.The only thing that I dont like is the 650mhz processor and the lack of options for the camera besides that the phone is a good bang for the money. It would be a great deal of help if anyone knows where I can get a case for this phone I mean screen protector and rubber or tpu case like a seido or otterbox. That would be greatful thanks guys.

I got it from Expansys 4 days ago, so far I love it, it plays HD video from YouTube, Crackle, hulu, CBS, CNN without any lag. The wifi works great, 3G is faster than average on SimpleMobile here in Auburn Hills, MI. Games, able to play 'Dead Space' with no lag and graphics look as good as on HTC Sensation which surprised me. Opens apps fast with no lag, even with Avast anti-virus running in background. Runs Kingsoft office, and Google video chat over wifi, and 3G video chat from my friend in Kuwait just as smoothly as the HTC Sensation even with the 650MHz processor that the Expansys website offers. The Android 2.3.5 OS is just 'OK', naturally would prefer Cyanogen Mod & rooting. Only 2 little bones in my throat with this awesome tablet-phone: (1)Very annoying to now see the same BLU Studio 5.3 offered by Negri Electronics, at the same price with an 800MHz arm processor!, that just grinds a tek-addict's bones. (2)... not able find screen protector & silicone case so to accommodate any butter-fingers I had to order a 'Galaxy Note' screen protector & silicone case to see if they can work. Bottom line: If it weren't for seeing the same unit available with that 800MHz processor for the same freaking price, I would be ecstatic with this BLU Studio 5.3, it really is amazing for the price.

I have had this BLU Studio 5.3 now for a week and it is very good. The battery power is amazing on this phone and to make things even better I installed Powermax by VOLTUP freely available on the Android Market. The result is that I can egulate when I want my Bluettoth, Data and WiFi on and off. One will be amazed how much the battery stays longer. I also installed 99 Toolkit Pro to assist with memory and task management and the phone is working like a bomb. This is a good buy and for some of us who are tired of carrying two fones the dual sim is an excellent investment. Looks are pretty good to sexy!!!

Why do phone manufacturers still insist on making a phone with such a low proccessor. This is 2012 ! You can't run alot of decent apps unless you have at the very least 1gb proccessor (1000 mhz). Nice looking phone, but with such a low proccessor, it fails right from the start.

There are two models in BLU Studio 5.3- D510 and D500. One is having 800Mhz processor and other is having 650Mhz processor.

Here is to clear up the confusion on the CPU. The Studio 5.3 currently in the market is 650MHz. The company will launch the 800MHz version in MArch, and the 650Mhz version will be discontinued. The initial units with 650MHz in the market were initial testing launch as the 800MHz was not ready at the time of launch.

It works well in Switzerland with dual Sim. (Swisscom and Orange) Actually, I had some problem in WiFi system at first time. Finally I solved this problem. (I haven't tested a 3G networking.) Anyway, it is quite good and cheap cell phone until now. (except custom.. I paid 60CHF) I am looking for the Screen protect film for Blu Studio. Would you recommend me something please?

I gotta say,ive been reviewing this phone for purchase and everywhere i read i keep seeing people comparing it to the galaxy note just because of its screen size. but you miss the point entirely. its not suppose to be a cheap note. its meant to be a low cost phone that does a great job at what it does while still having alot of toys and a brilliant battery life. the only real feedback ive read in many hours of searching has been about the main speaker audio at high volume not being great. other than that its a great product assembled by the same place as the iphone and aimed at being a low cost alternative to the prices set by the big brands out there, while still having way more features than any brand name phone of the same price

You are wrong on dual-sim. If done right, the power consumption is negligible, it's just multi-tasking between the networks. Mediatek has been doing it for years. If you pick the phone with other chips inside -- different story. They have ways to go to figure this out ...

you can actually disable one of the sims if you have a dual sim phone. so dual sim does not actually mean fast draining phone. my dual sim phone outlast my milestone xt.
