The battery contains ordinary HR06 (AA)-sized cells so it's possible to revive the phone by replacing the cells. Modern cells would give you around 2000mAh so it would survive for quite some time. How you do it: - Remove battery from phone. - Cut along the square area on the side facing the phone (hidden side), on the left, right and top side, skip the bottom side. The batteries are outlined in the square area, so cut out along the outer rim of the square area. - Cut of the + and - connectors from the batteries to the pack. Make sure they are accessible through the hole you made when cutting the pack open. - Remove the old batteries. - Get a 4-cell pack of new NiMh batteries and arrange the cells in the same way as the original cells. Preferably the batteries with solder fans welded on, it's a lot easier to work with. - Solder on some short wires to the battery pack terminals in the pack casing that remains from what you cut from old batteries. - Insert the new batteries, pay attention to + and - side. Solder the wires you just added to the battery + and - poles before final insertion at the top end. - Bend back the piece cut out and use a thermal glue gun to keep it in place at the top. You can of course glue the whole cut-out in case you want the pack to be completely sealed.

This phone was the best phone i've ever had! I'd 2 of them. 1 was stolen (imagine that) and the other one was chrushed by a 560 kg granite slab. It fell more then a 100 times on rock, sand, dust, water and it never failed me. Can't say that from today's phones.

I have one of these phones, after beain ran over, dropped in water, dropped in a cement mixer and suvirved sliding down a road at 45mph when i hit an ice patch and crashed my bike it still works, it was the phone i used to call for help on! the PMR function isnt what you think it is, its not like thise little hand held radios with the 8 / 22 channels. the R250s PRO supports GSM PRO so it allows you to do a "group call" so its like useing those PMR radios but going through the mobile phone "cellnet system" do a serch on the web for "R250s PRO manual" hope this helps. Great Phone!

the best phone ever theres some info bout using the private radio. in indonesia u can registered it to the goverment that deals with short wave radio frequency authorization with min handset of 10. theres a monthly fee too. but the information still a litlle bulurr, if theres any more info i let u all know. for those of searching 4 this phone in jakarta ( indonesia ) at roxy exactly there's a lot of seller that sells this phone (refurb condition)and all of it accesories sold separetly from casing, batt, high gain ant, metal bone etc (same goes to r310) so if anyone of u that happened to visit jakarta, dont forget to drop by at roxy. note: find the phone shop at floor 2 or 3 and find the one location not to near crowded place couse they sold it more cheap than the one in 1st floor

It looks like a pretty cool phone. So I'm gussing it's discontinued in North America, cuase this is the first site I've seen for that phone in english, but it's not continued. There are about 20 other websites having to do with this phone, and they are either in Serbian, Russian, Or some sect of European dialect, and other highly unfamiliar alphabets (if you can call them that.....Anyway, what I obviously want to know is where is this phone, and/or how can I get it?

amazing!! I put my R250PRO in water, I call the phone. It rang!!! I took it from water and answer it. Everything perfectly normal. It's a Godzilla. I believe a sissy hate this 'man' mobile phone.
