  • humm i am also a user of this mobile it has some good feature and most is bad like battery is not so good and some time lose files and slow i have to recharge every day bottom line is this is not so good phone i dont recomend to buy this phone to new customer

  • good cell phone

  • Iam using this device for a week. Battery is sick. Device is very slow campared to ather PDA's.

  • glofiish x500 is not powerful i do not recommend buying it slow in general but to be fair it is loaded with too many software... phone is not practical...

  • My X500+ was charging when the electricity went now she is not taking the charge. Can some one help me??? junie

  • The phone is awesome, the specs as described (camera is good outside, poor inside). However, eten loads a whole bunch of software that occupies memory unnecessarily. You can get a modified ROM (not from eten) that cuts out all the extra software. I have 26MB free when i start up and I rarely have memory issues. I use WiFi, bluetooth, push email (using emoze), word, and medical software (PepID and others), and am very happy. No pauses in answering phone calls, though I used to have this problem before I got the "new" or modified ROM. GPS is awesome... even works from inside my house if I'm near a window or skylight. Quick lock on and rock-solid. I use it with TomTom in Canada. I've even used some marine software on the boat. Earpiece volume is too soft, though I just downloaded a patch for this that's supposed to fix it--can't comment on whether it works or not yet. I hope it does, that the main complaint I still have. Speed is adequate. This is not a problem with the phone, it is WM6. It would be better with a faster processor, but these are just not available. Battery life is OK. Without push email, 2 or 3 days with moderate use. With push email and moderate use, a day maximum. Usually OK if I charge every night. VERY IMPORTANT: Anyone using WM6 needs a little program that automatically closes programs instead of minimizing them. There are many free ones. I use Magic Button. It also functions as a task switcher. Have been using for 1 year now... extremely happy customer.

  • very very bad phone and don't buy this phone i'am very disappointed in this mobile phone. plz do'nt buy it.............

  • i bought it 9 months ago . i was really excited about the specifications written in user guide. but i am so disappointed with the funcitonality... you should be patient enough if you are using x500+ .... i'm so disappointed ... so bad functionality - very bad camera ... very small memory ... so so so bad as a phone .. it hangs when you try to cancel any incoming call. and very rapid battery consuming if you want to use any bluetooth options like hand free bluetooth system. i obligate to buy a new mobile phone. and i feel, e-ten deceived me and take my money for nothing

  • Hi I am using it for about a year and it is/was a buisness tool to me. What we should deferentiate from a PDA is the Windows Mobile software itself (here the V.6). Yes, the WM6 has great possibilitites but what about the harware? Well, it takes 4-6 seconds to connect once answering or giving a call which made all of my callers and receivers to be annoyed. I formated the device repeatedly but nothing was improoved. I lost many phone calls even if I answered them!!!! Moreover, the 64MB ram is BBS!!!! It is always full. You have to go and stop the running programs manually before using the camera otherwise you get the "no memory to run application" message. More than half of it is beeing used from the operating system itself. What I need for this phone is an 800MHZ processor with 256RAM and keep everything else in place. And keep inmind that they do manufacture newer PDAs, all of them the same stuff!!! I really wonder why they are always making the same material and they do not upgrade the harware. The answer: For me and you to by always new products, to get the 400MHZ and then the 450, the 500 the 520 ect and in 10 years when the software needs will be for a 1.5MHZ they will eventually make my 800MHZ one. I got another mobile phone (Nokia E51) just for calls and I kept the X500+ for the callendar and notes. You cant even download a big email for gods sake.

  • I bought 3 months ago . I was really excited about the specifications written in user guide. But I am so disappointed with the funcitonality... You should be patient enough if you are using X500+ .

  • this device has great features but can't use half of then(specialy dial pad) because carracters are to small. When are we gonna get a device with great specs and great performances?

  • This is not a very bad device. I've got it for 1 month now and it's ok for what i need it. Ok i guess anyone can read the specifications so i'll skip the good parts cause many features are great and most important high resolution screen.. if you wana buy a big screen phone/PDA buy VGA resolution cause 320x240 is simple to little and you;ll have that oldschool nokia aspect .. little dots on icons .. ok back to the X500+ bad aspects: - bad camera .. ok it's preety good for outside cause it has a focus feature but for closeups it kind of sucks. When i buyed this PDA phone i read there MACRO feature so i said i can probably make pictures of text pages and later see them but no .. it's simply fuzzy no matter the settings. I've actualy been embarased by a nokia E50 camera .. even that made clear pictures of text pages - another bad thing is that it has problems saving settings .. i mean it makes a lot of backups .. so many you actualy have to spend some time deleting them at one moment but has problems to memorise settings for instance in case of low battery i switched it off and then got a full settings reset .. buttons ringtones all ... don;t know if this happenes to all PDA's (never had one before) - the last aspect i don't like(and i say again never had a pda before don't know much about this) is closing aplications .. it's like a symbian History menu .. stacks applications without closing them and uses all the RAM making you sometimes stop and go close them in the Memory menu. This thing sometimes makes other applications mallfunction especialy the camera or the Bussines Card Recogniser .. what i mean .. i says Out of Memory (so you can't make any picture) or can't recognise text .. Nevertheless i am pleased with my X500+ didn't have errors restart jamms or thing like that the WI-FI is great no problems connecting what so ever. Phone is ok didn;t have any problems with signal .. not even in the subway ... sound is good if you wana listen music on it's speaker but most important and this is why i choosed it in the 1st place GREAT SCREEN RESOLUTION 640x480 simply the best. I've played on many PDA Phones and I assure you go for 640x480 cause 320x240 IS TOO SMALL. P.S. I'm sorry for spelling mistakes I'm not an advanced english speaker(writter in this case) and ofcourse this problems could be for my PDA not necesary for all the X500+ models you never know how on part could mallfunction in your model and do magic in another's :) . Hope this helps anyone intersted in this Eten X500+. Oh yeah I totaly forgot I don't use the GPS on it but I've heard it works very well on it with the iGO maps and for anyone else buying it (OR ANY PDA PHONE) and don't plan in using GPS I can say only one thing RAM&PROCESSORS Mhz ARE NOT RELEVANT if you don't wana use GPS.

  • I heard that most pda phone have poor phone reception than a non pda phone. Do anyone know that which pda phone have excellent good phone reception. My Eten X500+ can't pick up call if you are deep inside a building.

  • Hi ! This device is extremely slow! ...and the camera is awfull. Batery need to be chrged every 6 hours:(((

  • I have the ETen X500+ for a month. Everything works good except the following problems: 1. problem with the ppc phone speaker(I think there is a very common problem with the earphone jack; check out ) 2. phone reception is weaker as compared to my other non-PDA cell phone (My non-PDA phone can pick up call in a area with weak signal, but not the Eten)

  • this phone is amazing. better than most pretty but impractical samsung, lg, motorola phones. it's a pity that the brand name eten isn't popular enough.

  • does anybody know how to get tomtom 6 installed on the memory card instead of main memory? can somebody also tell me what the hype is with tt6? it's not user friendly at all. i use iguidance and does a wonderful job. mapopolis is not bad also but a little old. waiting for streets and trip 2k8 to see if it's worth. hit me back if u help, i wouldn't mind trying out tt6 more if it's in my memory card instead of my main.

  • sorry, i forgot to mention that the camera quality can also use some work.

  • well, went thru the whole gsmarena when i was in the market for a new pda phone. it came down to two....iphone or x500+. i am a woman when it comes to phones so it's gotta be jam packed w/ features and good looks is a MUST. anyways back to the phone. PROS: awesome screen!!!, can't say enough bout it. to those that don't think it makes a difference, it DOES!!!!LOTS!!!! best bang for the buck. at bout 500 bucks, u can beat this phone, built in gps, vga screen, TONS of prepackaged software, WM6, micro support of 4G (a patch file, easily located on net). CONS - definitely miss my qwerty. like to see a stronger cpu (not sure why ppc cpus are so behind in times..HEAT?) battery life is normal. not sure why everybody thinks they can get more for less but all ppc usually runs bout a day based on average use.

  • I had the worse luck with this device , I have bought 2 of it after about one week it stop charging then they said the mainboard is broken and that's not with the warranty so you have to pay about 300 us dollars the other one after about 3 days it was inside it's pocket and in my pocket i had take it to answer a call and i realized that the screen is broken !!! and also they want me to pay 166 dollars is this fair ??? I think this device is really of bad quality not strange made in china I am going to trow them away if any one want to repair them and take them just tell me

  • This is absolutely a beautifull device. The graphic presentation of the screen is just awesome. The voice command picks up very well, and most importantly the software supplied by eten is GREAT! This phone is definately worth the price!!

  • I was looking for a phone with GPS capability and came upon this baby. While playing with in in the shop little did I know of the shortcomings of such a device if used as a mobile phone replacement. Here goes, for the innocent. No tactile dialing, you have to look at the screen to dial. Try this while driving and youre an accident on its way to happen. To get to dial a number from contacts you have to press several times to reach the dial part. You have no choice of which contacts you want displayed (Phone or SIM) Active sync gives you no syncing options and cannot be disabled. Unless your fingers are pencil sharp you need the stylus to do most basic functions. If like me you are over 45YO forget it, you need glasses to see whats going on in the screen. Out in the sun there just is no screen. While you are talking on the phone, your ear will press screen buttons and open windows. Once an app is on memory you have to manually remove it despite having shut it down. This means memory clogs down after some time and navigation software or the camera will not run and the phone will need reseting. 3rd party functionality apps like SPB phone suite, take up precious memory and dont really do much functionality wise. The camera is a joke, with stepped zooming, terrible autofocus, hit and miss exposure and the focal distortion of a 17th century mirror. Not to mention that for some reason some of my shots turn up green. The headset has no remote control capability. The headset volume is minimal. No little icon to see if the Bluetooth headset is logged on. Windows media player is, well, ok for computers but on this device I would like to see Winamp. Battery life is one day max with 4-6 5min phone calls and 2h of music, four to five hours if you play music continuously and use the screen. The wonderful to the touch black color plastic cover will scuff after a few weeks in your pocket together with loose change or keys. All in all this one month with the Glofiish has been a communication nightmare with a couple of brilliant moments of navigational enlightenment. Whatever was I thinking when I bought a windows phone?

  • I finally get the TT6 working in my X500+. everything is fine. But the support from TomTom is useless. I really like this PDA. It is amazing. I wondering why there is so much bad comment about X500+ out there.

  • According to my E-ten X500+ 113 X 5,9 X 15,5

  • Hey Mariano Tomtom 6 works verry well on my 500+ the o,ly difference is that the streetnames are smaller

  • TomTom Navigator 6 works just fine with this device. I'm having no issues at all. This is a nice device!

  • According to etencorp, the dimensions are the following: Dimension: 113.5 x 60.5 x 15.5 mm And not the one displayed here: Dimension: 113.0 x 59.5 x 15.5 mm

  • TOM TOM advised me that TOM TOM Navigation 6 is not compatible with WM6. They are looking into the problem. Anyone konws which GPS software would work for Eten X500+ in WM6 in North America?

  • Does this phone comes with built in chinese input? I am not refering to 3rd party software for chinese display and input. Thanks.

  • According to www.eten-users.eu device is out. Hungarian seller states price of about 521 EUR.

  • wow!!! this is must have phon! 192 chanels.hmmm, kind of good, like tytn.

  • Sad to hear that there's problem with ur x500+. This is part and parcel of using a PPC phone. Most importantly, tell us abt the customer service. I used to have a DOPOD but the service sucks like hell, so i told myself no way am i getting another dopod (HTC).

  • where did you purchase it from. so if problem comes you can return it.

  • screen is excellent but i did encounter keyboard failures with the device got it replaced 1 month ago. not i got a screen alignment problem with this 2nd device got it replace once again 3 weeks ago not FINALLY, a functional device lol thank god eten :S

  • Sound is pretty close to the HTC TyTN. So I say pretty nice.

  • Sound quality to me is great with the speakers on... not sure how it compares to 3250 but it is very decent IMO. One thing i'm not used to is that the stylus is actually at the bottom. i'm more used to getting the stylus out from the top.. well it's just egornomics i guess.

  • How about sound quality? Is it good as 3250?

  • Fragile? I dont think so. I got my x500+ 2 days ago and the built is similar to a typical PPC phone, so please do not mislead the rest. So far this product is working pretty well and of cos the most appealing factor is the resolution. Performance wise, so to say that it will definitely not please fussy customer. Do not expect instant response from the set, especially if you try to use it after having it sat on the table for some time. Phone calls perfect except some echos which i heard is due to WM6. The SMS function does not come with the 'keypad' interface (like the dial pad on your home phone) but you can download something similar to make up for it. I give it 8/10.

  • Worst device I ever owned. All Eten Pocket PCs are very fragile. The construction of the device isn't as solid as HTC Pocket PCs.

  • My X500 LCD screen broke. Does anyone know if I can replace it by the X500+ VGA LCD? Thanks.

  • YEs ,it is possible to install tomtom! I install it ,the only thing is that with a VGA screen the streetnames are smaller than on Qvga For the rest everything works perfect!! Julian

  • This thing was supposed to be out late may early june!!!! What happend?? When will it really be available?

  • No 3G - forget it!

  • It costs about 770-800 USD. Available in Russia. Camera is so-so. Nobody is expected it to be perfect.

  • Why only 64MB SDRAM? 64k screen? Eten wake Up!!! We should wait for X500++ :)

  • And what I think is especially cool is that the microSD card is hot-swappable which is a warmly welcomed feature bearing in mind that the max. supported size is only 2 GB.

  • The phone will be issued only in black. It should be available in June, but as you see, it still isn't. There is no info about the price. Everything is cool, just the battery lasts about 30% shorter, the camera is not so good and the GPS is slow in getting a "fix". It supports stereo blue tooth handsfree. That's the essence, if you have "time to lose", you can read everything here: btw it's quite the only review I could google out in the short time I have.

  • Where can i buy this phone? , what software does the gps software.

  • I have it in black. Nice device.

  • When will this phone be released?? I heard that is was supposed to be out in May (www.pdadb.net) but it has not been released yet.

  • is it possible to see on sunlight , especailly with GPS, when it is just 65K screen??

  • This is the real difference: + model: 640 x 480 pixels, 2.8 inches standard model: 240 x 320

  • Eten glofiish X500+ has VGA (480 x 640) screen. Makes a huge difference for PDA/GPS applications...

  • Can somebody explain me what is the difference between X500 and X500+.. I guess Eten must understand that most of people are expecting new model of M700 with high level stand by battery level.

  • Looks exactly like the Pharos 600

  • Accirding to specs, it seems to be the best device. Did anyone test it? Is it possible to install TomTom? Is the csmera nice? Flash?
