Gigabyte GSmart MS820 - User Reviews

  • MS820? I thought this was the MW720, nvm.

  • hi hussain here, I want my windows mobile upgrade from 6.1 to 6.5 please help I WILL WAIT FOR YOUR REPLY MY GMAIL ID IS [email protected] thanks in advance

  • Hi friends, I have just upgraded my mobile to Windows 6.5 Professional Edition. Working fast & great. You should also try this. If anyone tried android on it, kindly share your experience. I have failed to dual boot with android & windows. Thanks

  • What are the good function?

  • What is the actual weight with battery, GSMArena said that it is 105G but Gigabyte website said that it is 140g. Which is the correct one.

  • It´s From the Smart Phone best of the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

  • hurry buy this phone.it is very good. it has many good functions.this phone have very soft screen

  • Please don't even think of buying this phone. The phone is extremely pathetic and the service offered by the company even more so.. The FM radio does not work and it starts calling random numbers while travelling. The service centre replaces the motherboard chip for that problem and sends the phone back. Have gotten the phone replaced by the company 4 times and still they will not give you a refund inspite of having a one year warranty.

  • Plz dont buy it if you have not done so far! Network, FM coverage is very poor, volume (even for ring tone) is very low, camera (though given 5 mp, not upto mark). At least I would rate it 3 out of 10.

  • Hello, Have been using Gsmart MS820 since the past few days. The phone looks fine and sleek, though it is a bit bulky. Resolution is cool indoors, but one needs to strain in bright sunlight. It is loaded with all the features, one can think, 3G, 5MP Camera, Wifi, GPS (Sirf III), Radio, G-Sensor, Good RAM & ROM, though it could be a bit higher. Processor is 528 MHz & I think it is a bit slow for this advance phone. We can use all the programs, but there is a lag for them to load. In a nut shell I shall describe its working. Looks : Good Looking Screen Size: 2.8", Though I personally feel it should have been 3.1 or higher Starting Time after reset : 12 Seconds, if you are not loading the UI of Gsmart. Phone Reception Quality : Pretty Good, though I feel that there is a delay of about 2 seconds, to hear the first words. But overall it is fine & I cannot complain much about it. Hardware Buttons : Very Difficult to use them, as I think they are designed for lady fingers, It is impossible to click the camera, and if one is successful there will be a camera shake. Luckily it has very few hardware buttons. Camera : Though the camera is 5Mp, there is quite a lot of noise, and it can no where compete with a Sony Ericsson phone. Screen : Screen is pretty good, as it is 640x480 VGA. The response of the screen is average and with a bit of practice you could master it. FM Radio : Not up to the mark, I mean if the signal is strong the sound quality is fine. But in areas where the reception is average, it does not pick up the boradcaset at all. GPS : Though this has SIRF III Gps, getting a fix takes ages, about 5 minutes or more. (Nothing is mentioned about A-GPS & I am not sure, how it can be used). Speaker : It has mono speakers, and the sound quality is good, and really excellent through the ear sets. Stylus : Horrible, I am yet to see a poor stylus on any mobile phone. It is made of very cheap plastic, & I would recommend you to make all the applications menu driven, so that one could use their finger only. Software : Besides the UI of Gsmart, it has a basic GPS Tracking software (without maps) and a SPB Backup (which is good, a few basic games. It is loaded with WM 6.1 Professional OS. Battery : The battery is 1300 MAh, and with average use it could last 2 Days, but with all the research I have been doing, I have to charge it everyday. If you use the GPS the battery drains pretty fast, but Gsmart has given us a free Car Charger. Removing the battery to load the SIM Card is a Herculean Task & Gsmart should redesign this feature. Conclusion: Specifications wise this phone is loaded with some of the top phones of last year, For the price I have bought it (new phone) I think it is definitely worth it with all the short comings it has. Regards, MAQ (India)

  • Last month , I have brought Gigabyte GSmart MS820.. It's an excellent mobile... Feedbacks 1)5mp Cam not up to the mark as compared to sony 5mp cam 2) FM very poor 3) Battery life is ok.. Beside of these it an very good Pocket PC

  • Dear All.....i m planning to buy one Gigabyte window mobile and i need your help to give me some feedback on the performance of these PDA's as i had selected 3 models - i120, MS820, T600....pls provide me your valuable feedback on these along with some other models which you think are better in terms of performance and features at a reasonable price as my budget is around 8k and i had heard that Gigabyte has mobiles within this range...my email add is [email protected] you can also write me on this address....thxx all

  • I love the way Gigabyte displays its specification. Mobile is no longer viewed from its features. Unlike computers & laptops we have the right to know in dept detailed specifications abt a particular mobile which i guess only they have done it so far. We need to knw which chip is being used in the mobile? Whats the max speed of the mobile in mhz, battery power (not in hrs)? which gps chipset is used and the rest. M sure gigabyte will try to adopt latest technologies in its mobile and beat atleast sony in this area. Comon guys we dont want slow mobiles & those nasty hang-ups afterall.. isnt it? i mean whats the use of having 100s of features is ur running Win3.1... lolzzz doesnt it making sense here??? think think

  • in wavetell pallavaram

  • They are being sold in the USA see

  • Any one know where to buy the handset Gigabyte g-Smart MS820. Thanks.

  • performance of the ms820 is very good.

  • G-smart MS820 and MW720 are two different phones? why have they been mentioned as one phone on GSM?

  • screen is surprisingly small for this type of device, but great phone.

  • This phone is value for money....great speed great camera and battery back up

  • This phone is for few years he's status is comming soon.Phone will be available or what???

  • GSM arena is mixed on the specs somehow!

  • You are wrong... A-GPS ist just an addon to GPS. All A-GPS devices have normal GPS functionality with the option to have a faster sat fix through a data connection.

  • GPS are FAR better than A-gps.

  • GPS is better than A-GPS , GPS is the real one, A-GPS is assisted, using cell tower instead of satelite

  • we r looking for a type of handicam mo0bile//////i found all these in this model/////harry

  • its best with comparison to other handsets

  • i think one of the drawbacks is that is has Gps not a-gps...

  • 3g network hsdpa 2100

  • it is not 3g but how we can have videocall with this? as gsmarena said it has a vga camera for video calling

  • it got a big problem NO 3G how the hell is that going to meet the competetion too shame

  • it is ok but if the screen size is 3.5 or higher

  • no it is a skin a plugin called Gsmart and u can find it for wm6 devices in xda-developers

  • This is not a skin, but custom phone shell made by Gigabyte (like HTC TouchFlo or Samsung TouchWiz).

  • Nice theme! is it the default skin for this phone, where to get this kind of skin?

  • I just hope it has a good price to compete!! It is even better than the Samsung Omnia (has VGA !) If only Gigabyte gives more support worldwide...

  • To all who like this phone, check out the i900 samsung due out soon, it has everything this one has and more and it has a better dress sense, lol i just wish the networks would get there finger out and start supplying the new handsets, sooooooo slow!

  • Does anyone know what kind of flash this has? I really wish we would treat the whole flash issue with more consideration as a camera with 5 or 7 or 20 for that matter mega pixels is useless (in my opinion ) if it doesn't have a XENON flash!

  • Gigabyte works really poor on PDA devices there are 6 diffrent Gsmart Model that actually all of them is One. Gsmart I300,I350,MW700,MS800,MS820,MW998...Compare All of this model! besides Gigabyte Support For Gsmart is awful.

  • can sum1 explain drawbacks of dis fone?most of time i hav seen ppl talk only abt gud part.plz say if any1 can help me in analysing dis fone?thanks in advance

  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 5mp good ,this first phone 5mp Microsoft Windows

  • Some sites says that its a 3 megapixel camera, and yes it has got HSDPA,just MW720 (it's edge brother) doesn't have.

  • wowwwwwwwww

  • the phone is great. 520 mhz, 5mp, touchscreen and many more

  • this would be the best fone if they include 3G HSCD

  • do you need 3g for video calls?

  • Was looking into a windows mobile phone wit good camera lately. This looks like the ideal. Love the VGA screen resolution. Wld have been happier if it was 3G HSDPA. Will watch out for it though.

  • gigabyte made 5 mp fone huh
