Hi, I am using gSmart S1205 since 3 years after a fair upgrade to my favorite GSmart i120. Now the touch screen is not responding hence can't able to use phone. My many important files are in it. Can any one please help retrive my phone or provide me the service centre particulars. I tried in Bangalore SP/SJP road. All said the perticular 'touch' is not available.

murcury is software for taxis so a handset can be used as a mobile booking and dispatch terminal for drivers. i think the murcury software must be writen into the hard reset procedure or unaffected by it. shame as i was trying to reprogram some with our taxi software for a customer.

murcury is taxi software. the handset used to belong to a taxi company. murcry probable had the handsets made with there software incorperated into them. and into the hard reset procedure.

I bought this phone from a friend, and it seems to be stuck on some sort of "Mercury" operating system. I've tried the hard reset using the volume up, camera and power button but to no avail. I then tried the other way, which is not even possible in this operating system. Please help.

Hi, I use this phone for a year and would like to share with you my experience. the phone was bought in Prague. In general the phone is good, GPS work well without problem, I don't use all the features of the phone because I don't need, however it is good that its exist. The dual-sim use is very convenient. However the phone has some disadvantages. First of all, the screen is very gentle as a phone. The loudspeaker doesn't work well, you can speak and the other side will hear you but you cannot hear anything. Secondly, a few month ago the phone began to quench by itself. An addition, the are almost no accessories for the phone and this is frustrated. But if you looking for a simple dual-sim phone I will recommend this one

This device is full of bugs and completely impossible to use- the ring volume is unhearable - conversation volume maximum is completely unsatisfactory-you have to be in silenced room to hear something -impossible to change the device"s language -the camera is foggy(i have got down the plastic shield all right!) This is after half a day of using-I put it aside and returned to my old phone.Waste of money.

Hi Sunil, I assume you've installed the application on the memory card before upgrading?.. So you need to reinstall the application, because all information within the operating system (windows mobile) about installed software is gone. I hope it helps.. Adamski

Hello ppl, its a gud phone I have been using it for a week now. I was initially skeptical about most reviews on S1205 battery performance. Now I must say its pretty impressive. Not that agree with few reviews here but its lasting 3 full days for me. my usage pattern is > both sims actv 24hrs > Telephony 100 - 120 min a day > Gprs/ internet 20 - 30 min a day > mult med aps 30 min a day > Nav/ Gps not daily though I must say this is a best potent WM phone i got in last 7yrs whn it comes to bat power. Get on for yourself :)

This is only dual standby this mean that when you are using one sim the other is off. When you are colled on the second sim (doasn't matter whitch one) the coller will heard that your phone is off. You can only forward the calls from one sim to another. Because of this I don't have the phone anymore. I used also DX900 from Acer, but was the worst phone ever.

I have heard a lot about the S1205 and I intend to get one soonest BUT I need someone to assure and confirm that both SIMs will receive in-coming calls simultaneously while switching may be required to initiate a call from a particular SIM.

In my opinion you're getting very much for the price of this phone: - two SIMs handling - OK - GPS - OK - Windows/Outlook sync - OK - Email Client, WIFI - OK - user interface - OK - music/mp3/radio - OK - camera - enough - compact size of phone The biggest disadventage is no 3G - but if you use only Email client it's OK I don't see now other phone with dual SIM (maybe Acer X500, but it's not sold anymore).

I've had this phone for about a month, and here are my experiences/replies to "Ork": 1. Never had that problem. 2. The battery - I was amased by the long battery life. Until now, I've had to recharge at each 10 days. I use Wifi sometimes, but always turn it off when the work session is over. Also, I'm my experience this a low/mid-end phone. However, if you need 2 SIMs like me, AND wifi, spype and camera, there are not many alternatives. 1. CPU is slow - yes, by todays standards it is. But it's on par with my previous phone, which was the HTC Diamond. 2. Back button - yes, I miss that to. It would be nice if the "sims settings" button could be changed to that. Maybe it can...(?) 3. SIM2 button is missing on some selections. SIM1 is default, and sometimes one have to go a long way to use SIM2 on a number/contact. 4. Camera - average to low quality, no autofocus. - Agreed. Fairly ok resolution, though, but you get what you pay for... My 2 cents...

I am having some problems with this phone - wonder if anyone else has had these problems: 1. When people call me sometimes, they get 'phone not switched on' message. On my end, I receive a message - 'you have a missed call'. The phone has not been used at all in this process. And the mobile signal is fine. I noticed this kind of problem with the fake chinese phones, but out of clue why here. 2. The battery - sometimes it will last for up to 5-6 days (with small number of calls), normally 3-4 days. At some times, without any further load (programs, calls) it lasts only for 10 hours? In my experience, the phone is so-so (maybe because I came across a defective one, I don't know - other users seem to like it generally). On the bad side I would put: 1.CPU is slow (especially with several programs on); 2. Software adaptation - not well-tuned. (The most irritating one is the lack of dedicated 'Back' button, which will go back only one step, not 'back to the start menu'. Really frustrating.) 3. All contacts call from SIM 1 by default. It beats me, why SIM 2 contacts can't call from this card by default. Also, to call from SIM 2 in contacts, you need to open a Menu and choose from there. The two buttons (Call SIM 1 and Call SIM 2) should be on every screen where contacts appear - tried to write to Gigabyte about that, but the English version of their site doesn't seem to work - if anyone has a contact point, please post. 4. Camera - average to low quality, no autofocus. Aside from that, the phone is o.k. - if you don't expect too much for this price. WiFi works fine, other users have been happy with the GPS too (have not tried it myself). Battery life is fine. The phone is not dual active SIMs, but that is indicated in the specs. It is fully compatible with WinXP,etc. (although it will not sync without 'MS Outlook' - this is not the 'Outlook Express' mailer, installed on your PC, it is a different program - confusing name mix) Read somewhere that an there is extra software, which can be programmed to your liking - if anyone has info, please post. My two cents...

Some comments about GPS feature on GSmart S1205 I am using IGO8 software and it works very good with this phone even with 1GB memory card. But if you wont to have a lot of maps it is better to use 2 GB memory card. My only remark related to GPS feature is the fact that if you change screen orientation to landscape IGO8 does not work properly. Also before you start IGO8 for the firs time you should set software port to COM4, baud rate to 4800 and hardware port should be DISABLED or IGO8 will bring out message "GPS device not connected"!

Received Gigabyte GSmart S1205 with English interface on Thursday. Good functionality, but will take a little getting used to. Compact, well designed but did not arrive with local power supply (via ebay - China) but the it looks as though my old Nokia chargers (AC & car) work fine. That's a winner! Very happy ... at this stage

S1205 hasn´t problems with Parrot 3200 or 6200. Phonebook you can synchronize with parrot. On display is only one network and when you set call by parrot, call will be connect by SIM1. There is no problem with pick up call from SIM2. The sound qualities are same for both SIM cards.

Hi Adam battery life depends to high extent on functions operating specially wifi and blutooth. if both are runing all the time I guess you have to charge every night. you can turn any sim off from the wireless manager.

Hi, the behavior with the redial is unfortunately the same on the Samsung SGH-D880. I think the Sim1 is the primary one and it's taken if you push the hw button. Can you tell me something about the battery?.. how many days without reloading?... Is it possible to switch off one of the sim cards in the system? I have been working with this phone foe a week now.In addition to its elegant look,it has wonderful operating system many application can be uploaded from the net, some of drawbacks in my opinion sound is low, redial always go to sim1 even if you made your last call from sim2 which is un convenient specially when driving I really prepare it to have bottom number instead of touch screen would much easier to use.

Dear Friends, The phone is fine. there is a GPS module inside and works properly with cracked GPS porgrams which eats the battery in 3-4 hours but with car lighter adapter everything is fine. It happens that the phone blocks for a while and should be reset.

GPS function: it was a time for me too to learn using the GPS in the phone: but you do not have to do anything special. Anyway, It works only outdoors, with good sign for me - bat then it is OK. First I used some programs from the Windows Marketplace (Endomondo) and I downloaded a little CAB file "GPS Test" from the net to test it. Now I use it with GPS program (IGO 8) and it works nice - I did not have to make any spacial configuration. IGO 8 needs all the memory, so you have to exit othe programs. A love the looooong battery life of this phone :)

I'm living in France, and I purchased the S1205 on Speedshop; it was delivered within around 1 week via GLS parcel service. Warning: even when clic on English flag, most parts of Speedshop website remains in Hungarian. Unless you are fluent in Hungarian, Google translation will be of great help. After registering, I placed my order, and... it's all. It seems that online payment failed. To clarify the situation, I called them on the phone (they have one english speaker), and they sent me a copy of the invoice via PDF, with IBAN information to proceed with a banking transfer. I guess other payment means like Western Union would have been accepted. The price is really fair: 220 EUR plus 15 EUR shipping fee. It worths it! The device is working perfectly, including dual sim features, wifi, bluetooth... I received it 24 hours ago, and did not got enough time to test all possibilities. Of course, ActiveSync configuration is tricky, but it is due to ActiveSync and WinXP, not the smartphone itself. It seems that some advanced USB connection features are not supported by ActiveSync on XP. Tip: on the device connection menu, go to "USB to PC" tab and disable "advanced network" feature. A quick guide (paper) is included in the box, but it is in Hungarian :-( However english PDF docs are downloadable on gigabytebcm.com :-) In summary: S1205 is an excellent product, with fair price but the purchasing procedure on Speedshop may be tricky.

Yes, the dual SIM function is working real time, absolutely. You can choose which card to use for call or SMS, you can see SMS for Card1 Card2 or both etc. Pretty cool

Anyway, I bought it in Budapest too, and I like it very much. Speed is OK, absolutely cool, GPS only works outdoor for me, WiFi is cool, dual sim handling is cool :) The volume problem seems to be with the sim card, because only one of my sim cards (pannon/telenor) is quiet. I try to get a solution for this at the provider...

I've got one of those for one of my customers, i own a computer hardware shop, call it after customer request, get it from Vali Bulgaria (yep, i'm bulgarian too) - nice phone, not perfect, but solid, works well, design is not bag, handling too, latest software and for that street price here - amazing value, if i need new phone - it will be this one, been loyal to htc for last 3-4 years, even longer, my first their phone was 'qtek', none of recent htc can beat 1205 in value for money game

I've found only one European firm where s1205 is already available: it's in Bulgaria (www.vali.bg). But they don't ship abroad, I think (don't understand Bulgarian...) So, if someone KNOWS ABOUT A RELIABLE INTERNET SHOP THAT SELLS S1205, PLEASE POST IT HERE! T would badly need that phone!

GSMART 1205 has an incorporated A-GPS/GPS receiver or an external one that connects through the bluetooth connection? I'm willing to buy one of these PDA only if it has an intenal A-GPS receiver that can be disabled to use the regular GPS. I searched online for the manual and they do not say nothing about the GPS or the navigator software.

Standby is 5-6 days. I`m talking a lot on it- most of the time connected via bluetooth to a headset and I talk two or three days before recharging. Personally I`m pleased with the battery life. It has no problems syncronizing with Outlook. I personaly do it at least twice a week. After all it is with Windows Mobile operation system so you get all the bonuses of it. :)

I have the phone for one week now.... It`s really fast with the applications, GPS, internet browsing.... So really the CPU is enough to do the right job.

Whohh, guys! What do you want from a Phone?! For this thing a 416 MHz Cpu isn´t so less, Nintendo DS has a CPU speed of about 133 MHz and is able to manage Skype with the huge ammount of 4 MBs of RAM :-) I think it has much power for a mobile phone or respective PDA. (Think over that the first mission to moon was calculated on two C64...)

The acer is not hugh all for what it can offer you. Seem to be a good devices for country like india. the specification seem to be decent, taking into consideration what's sold in India. Gigabyte definetely is a quality concious company, i have been using their MW700 for a year now, without any problem. Would definetly like to explore S1205, once its available in India.

BTW this phone doesn't sounds like a really good phone , i know it's not released yet but i don't think a 416Mhz cpu and 128mb ram would match the WM 6.5 , and if someone is looking for a Dual sim phone i strongly recommend the dual sim chinese phones , yeah the material is not top notch but for a little price you get lots of options.

i'll admit the specs don't compare well to other smartphones but with this being a quad band dual sim phone, it blows away the samsung b5702. i know because i have the b5702 and i'm planning on selling it. i do wish, though, that this would be 3g US also but... eh, maybe ill hold off on dual sims til they offer 3g US.
