Google Pixel 3 - User Reviews

  • what?? I cant use head phones while im charging? Yikes! there are only 24 hours a day and I need every minute of it for both of those things. I was seriously railroaded into buying this and after all was said and done, I realize that not only does it have a different plug than anything else, you are only provided one cord to use for all settings, despite having been given a car adapter and two other adapters that make no sense. plus a cord that goes to nothing. I was given 3 days to decide and could exchange only for another pixel if this one is faulty. and so on, and so on

  • better than Pixel 4

  • Can you schedule a reboot like Huawei and Samsung?

  • No SD card, no headphone jack, a Thanos notch with a silly price tag? Hahaha

  • Pixel 3 is a real deal! I switched from pixel 2... Next is pixel 5 when 5G is available in big cities...

  • Pixel 3's in-hand feel is amazing. Matte finish on the back. Rounded sides. Not too tall but narrow. Only 148g. The iPhone 11 Pro weighs 188g! That's 3 more than the Essential Phone. Pixel 3 is the best phone I ever had now that it is back on Pie. I've considered getting an original Pixel or Essential Phone again. But I keep asking myself, why bother? They're both inferior to the Pixel 3? The og Pixel in black is known to have chipping issues. Pixel has the headphone jack and slightly shorter and lighter. Essential Phone feels awkward to hold and even with the GCam apk, the cam is clearly inferior to my Pixel 3. I feel I'm just wasting another $100-$180 on inferior devices that I've owned before already. Both the Pixel 3 and 3 XL can be so underrated. They're both still superior to the poor man's Pixel, the 3a and 3a XL. They have less bezels and feature the Visual Core chip. The GPU blows the 3a's out of the water. Even with the Pixel 4's imminent release, I still think the Pixel 3 looks way better. People just hate on the Pixel 3 because of the 3 XL's hideous notch or the fact they're too expensive. I love my Pixel 3! Never had the issues. And I love Pie. Pixel 3 is the most refined Pixel ever in both software and hardware. The 4 took a step back in design. The 3 introduced us to Night Sight, High Res Zoom, Call Screen, etc. Might be the last to offer a fingerprint scanner on the back.. Hopefully, Google returns to the frosted glass back by the Pixel 5 or 6. That's the most appealing aspects of the iPhone 11 Pro. I love the back to have a matte finish. I don't like the back of the X and XS. And my black Pixel 3 seems to self-heal if scratched with keys.

  • my Previous phone was a pixel 2 (still in use) i loved that phone, it is perfect, people have problems with the big bezel i'm not i like it. now I have pixel 3, one week and counting, the machine itself is very powerful, snappy as hell, which is what i pay for, so i'm happy with that, camera, as to be expected, top notch, battery.... meh.. ok, screen .... i don't like it much, round borders, come on google, this is not apple, if i want apple i'll go buy one, i want a pixel, the sucessor of the very great nexus line which i also had several. the screen is ..well round in the edges which i don't like, the aspect ratio is weird, to the poin where most apps are chopped at the right because the screen is taller than wider, the colors are waaaay too saturated, too shiny, whydid you do that? pixel 2 has a fantastic screen with a great aspect ratio, color precision, quality, in that tinysize i loved it!, i don't understand why you changed the aspect ratio, now most apps don't fit the screen, and the saturated colors are, not painful, to watch but annoying yes. next thing, case. round shiny borders, again copying apple, google pretty please, i don't want apple, i want a pixel phone, why!, the case of the pixel 2 was great, feels great at touch, very nice details at the corners, subtle but clear signs of a quality product, now the 3 case, is all glass, so extremely delicate, extremely round, extremely shiny, i don't like it. again the machine is fantastic, but the screen and case, i don't like it at all.

  • Pixel 3 is back being my #1 favorite phone ever now that I'm back on Pie (September 2018). My LG G5 has better all-around features and hardware but I always go back to my Pixel 3 because it's ridiculously smooth. Everything just opens up instantly. My Pixel 3 is going to be my main daily driver until it no longer works anymore. Or at least for another five years or until I see some real changes and innovations with smartphones. So far, I haven't seen much innovation for the last 3-4 years. I've seen people use a Nexus 4 or 5 for years. Heck, even iPhone 4 from 2010. I see no problem using this Pixel 3 for a minimum of five years as long as I change the battery every 2-2.5 years.

  • We’re you on Android 10?

  • If you disable the digital wellness monitoring, your performance goes back to normal.

  • Not only is the phone so unstable tech support can't help other than to replace the phone... Pixel refuses to extend the warranty. I am on the third phone. The first two had the same issues plus unique ones as well. Phone would shut down, apps close on their own and the phone would lock up and not close or navigate. Two phones, same issues. Battery life was terrible even though I had taken off most applications. I was told if I didn't like the model to pay more and upgrade. I paid $900 for the original phone! Horrible customer service.

  • Pixel 4 :D

  • Just downgraded my Pixel 3 from Android 10 to Pie (September 2018) and my phone is back being AWESOME! It's actually smoother and faster now than before. My battery life is better than ever. All my apps aren't broken and working perfectly again. My Call Blacklist Pro can now reject calls. My ES File Explorer can back up apps and capable being installed. My QuickPic can now upload to Google Photos and share photos to Viber. My Dasher app no longer freezes. My PiP for YouTube doesn't just stay black. Android 9 (Aug 2019): 9/10 Android 10 (Sept 2019): 6/10 Android 9 (Sept 2019): 9.5/10 My tip to most people? Don't update. Even apps, go back to older versions of it. My Pixel 3 is basically acting like my Essential Phone when I first updated to Pie back in August 2018. Everything feels right. Android Pie the earlier builds (Aug/Sept/Oct 2018) is the best Android software experience I ever had only followed by Nougat 7.1.1 on the original Pixel. By the time I kept updating the security patch, Pie got more bloated, a little slower and a little worse battery life. The best software of any particular phone is the one they came with right out of the box. They were optimized for that particular software version. Everything after starts to get a little worse and a little worse. Only time an Android update cured my issues is when my LG G5 (RS988) went from Android 6 to 7. If I ever get another Essential Phone, I will downgrade it to the August 2018 of Pie. And never update it beyond the October 2018 patch when it added back the notch settings. These early Pie builds are clearly the best and most efficient Android software experience I ever had. I know many people hate on Pie. I don't care. I love it. I despise Android 10. My Pixel 3 is back and better than ever! I only got it last May and it already had the March 2019 security patch. It wasn't that smooth. The touch wasn't instantaneous. I noticed my Essential Phone was smoother with the October 2018 build. With the September 2018, my P3 is very smooth like that Essential and the battery life is the best I ever had with this particular model. Don't update. You get new features but you'll also get worse battery life, bugs, broken apps, and a more bloated OS. Dark theme is so overrated. There was nothing in particular I enjoyed from Android 10. My Pixel 3 rocks again!

  • It seems strange that Android 10 on Pixel 3 has so many bugs. Maybe factory reset is needed? I wouldn't recommend buying HMD flagships. All their flagships were complete failure so far. Nokia 8 is ridden with hardware and software bugs. They completely ruined that phone. When it comes to major updates, HMD prioritizes low and mid range phones. Sirocco, which was their 2018 flagship, is scheduled to get Android 10 in March 2020.

  • I'm at the process of downgrading my Pixel 3 from Android 10 to Pie. The most frustrating parts from Android 10 are... - Call Blacklist Pro or any call blocker is broken. - QuickPic is broken where I can't even upload to Google Photos or share on Viber! - ES File Explorer seems broken when it comes to app backup. If the app is backed up from the app, it will still not be installed. - The touch response can freeze if doing DoorDash. And I don't mean just like a few seconds delay. As long as 20+ seconds. Yesterday, it took nearly 10 seconds for my camera app to open up. Luckily, it opens quickly again. I hate Android 10. At least this early version that broke several useful apps I use. Android 10 ruined my perfectly fine Pixel 3 on Pie. This happened to me before with the first Pixel. It was perfect on Nougat before Oreo ruined its battery life even after a restore and fresh install with the apps. If Google keeps doing this by ruining their phones after one major update, I'm going to move to a third-party OEM like Nokia (HMD). The smaller Pixels appeals to me the most though and I don't like the glass backs without a matte finish of the Galaxy 10e. I now have to learn how to downgrade Android software. I might buy a first gen Pixel again and flash that back to Nougat. I think 7 is my favorite Android version. Nougat helped save my LG G5 and it was the most stable Android release Google ever had. My Pixel 3 was a 9/10 on Pie. Now my experience with it is a 6/10 on Android 10. Almost unusable for work because it freezes at times using the Dasher app. I'm so frustrated with Google.

  • Factory reset the phone and everything will work fine.

  • Still mad I updated my Pixel 3 to Android 10 when it was working fine on Pie. Issues - Touchscreen issues / freezes - Call Blacklist Pro no longer works - Can no longer upload to Google Photos via QuickPic - Wi-Fi settings looks more complicated - Battery life seems to be a little worse I'm mostly mad with the first two issues. If I do DoorDash while receiving a text, the screen would occasionally not respond. I have to keep tapping on it. And Call Blacklist Pro is broken on 10 when just a week ago, I never ever got spam calls. Now the app doesn't work at all. I had to move my sim back to my LG G5. Now the G5 (RS988) isn't perfect by any means but since mine never went beyond Nougat, Call Blacklist Pro still works perfectly and going from Marshmallow to Nougat actually got rid of the problems I had especially the overheating, Wi-Fi disconnecting, and slow charging. It is so complicated to downgrade to Pie. I have no time for it. If Google doesn't fix these Android 10 issues, the Pixel 3 will be the last Pixel I will ever get. The original Pixel had some issues too after I updated. Perfectly fine on Nougat 7.1.2. Then battery took a hit with Oreo even after a fresh restore. I just returned my HTC 10 too for a refund because eBay vendor sent me the silver one with white front when I expected the one with black front. I may have to put my Pixel 3 on the sidelines until Google gets these issues fixed. It's becoming unworkable for work. May also need to pick up a cheap old phone from eBay. Maybe a Sony Xperia Z3 or something? I wasn't the biggest fan of the HTC 10 design. I may want something older, smaller, and cheaper.

  • Love Night Sight

  • After update to Android 10, Can't add esim. There is no 'add carrier' in the mobile network setting. Any help please ??

  • I disabled it anyway since I don't use it. As for all your other phones you have, I don't care for any of them except the Essential Phone. I used to rotate between 11 phones. It's a waste of time so I sold most of them. Updated Pixel 3 to Android 10 today. Smooth as butter. Pie had some jank in it.

  • Guys why Google going to manufacture the phone in Vietnam

  • Digital Wellbeing and auto brightness is not linked to battery drain as people ASSUME...If anything Digital Wellbeing throttles the CPU in regards to overheating which negatively impacts battery life. I have an Essential PH-1, S10e, J7 TOP, Moto G7 Play and of course the Pixel 3 and the main reasons as to why I decided to purchase this particular phone was the so-called pure Android experience and mainly it being future proof with excellent support.

  • I disabled Digital Wellbeing within the first month I started using it and any AI monitoring especially with the brightness. I do keep Google's Shazam-like feature turned on. That's a fun feature to use to recognize songs without needing to open an app for it. The battery life on my Pixel 3 isn't that terrible especially compared to older flagships with comparable sizes. My LG G5 and V20 never gave me more than 5 hrs SOT even with newer dated batteries. I can cross that with the Pixel 3 on both mobile data and Wi-Fi. My HTC 10 is on the way from eBay and I'm already dreading it before I even receive it. The battery life seems terrible on it and declines fast after a year to 18 months. And the cost to replace it is high because HTC are such unpopular devices and harder to open up. The Pixel 3 battery life cannot compare to those larger phones with bigger batteries but I cannot stand phones at that size. Even the smaller 3a just isn't the size I want. The poor battery life is overstated. It gives me 6 hrs on mobile data but it can give me 9-10 hrs on Wi-Fi. Double than what a G5 and V20 can ever do for me. Plus, uBreakItiFixit can easily replace the battery for me after 2-3 years. Can't say the same for the HTC 10 or thr Essential Phone I once had. Pixel 3 is a brilliant smartphone, folks. The best one-handed smartphone out there. And based on the mock ups for the Pixel 4, the Pixel 3 looks better than its successor. No forehead to add 2 millimeters in height. - Underrated battery life for its size - Comfortable to hold - Brilliant camera - Best software UI experience - GPS locks it fast - Charges fast I'm keeping my Pixel 3 on Pie forever. August security update will be my final update for mine. And I will keep my apps on the pre-September 2019 versions except for the Chase app which requires updates. I'm going to miss that pill from Pie and Android 9 will have the final dessert name. I think Android 10 may have issues with that side swiping for the back button. I've used it for years before using All-In-One Gesture app and it gets annoying after awhile no matter how big and sensitive the gesture spot was. Pixel 3 is my favorite smartphone ever and Pie is my favorite Android version. Don't want to break that up.

  • Those 2 apps are necessary functional apps for optimal performance of phone. Go to gestures and disable active edge(squeeze for Google assistant) and any other gesture of your choosing, turn off always on which u do not need if using lift to wake or double tap gesture and turn off NFC. My PXL3 is running Q Beta 6 and I'm getting almost 6 hours of screen time with beta version. Also, once the AI battery function learned MY USAGE pattern, battery life has been really good...U are smarter than a smartphone!

  • OMG thanks! I can feel the different after disabling both. I also enabled 'remove animation' that helps too and phone seems to be faster.

  • The pixel battery life can be greatly improved by restricting background battery of digital wellbeing and removing the AI battery monitor. these two background tasks suck up alot more juice than other android phones experience.

  • Biggest weakness to this phone is battery life especially if using mobile data. On Wi-Fi, it will last longer but on mobile data, it is very average. The display is also not particularly bright. I need to set it to 85% using the Notification Toggle app to see anything under sunlight. Other than those flaws, I love it. Definitely far better GPS than my LG G5 and far better reception with T-Mobile than my Essential Phone. It is quite high with SAR and there will be times it can randomly overheat especially on a hot summer day. The camera and software experience is excellent. I especially love its in-hand feel. Far more comfortable to hold with one hand than my Essential Phone. Lighter, narrower, and more rounded sides. My LG G5 is comfortable to hold too but it's slightly taller and wider which makes the Pixel 3 my favorite to hold. Pixel 3 is currently my 2nd favorite smartphone ever behind only my LG G5. I just prefer the G5 more because it offers removable battery, microSD slot, IR blaster, and a wide-angle camera. And also, I prefer LCD over OLED. The camera and software experience is better on the Pixel 3 but the G5 isn't that much inferior. My Pixel 3 is my current daily driver though because my G5's GPS is unreliable. I plan to move back to the Philippines in 2021, so I plan to get the battery replaced before going back there for another 5 years. My next phone will probably another Pixel again. Maybe the Pixel 10 by 2025 if the Pixel is still around by then. I want to use a smartphone for years and years. A minimum of 5 years. I'm not into upgrading every 2 years like before. It's a waste of time and money. It means we are caught into these OEMs' endless loop of constantly upgrading.

  • This phone is so expansiv... Please give offer.

  • Just changed to Pixel 3 from iPhone SE. The camera system is really brilliant, enjoy taking photos with it. The phone size is quite comfortable to hold. The downside is the battery life. It drains super fast, for eg, it dropped from 100-95% after using for 10 mins messaging. The other con is the screen brightness, it's not bright enough.

  • If you prefer android?

  • sounds like the OLED display has failed, possibly due to a hard press?. very rare at 7 months.

  • Pixel 3: Phone was fine UNTIL it got a black smudge (like a black fingerprint) on the lower left corner. Phone was 7 months old. Google tech representative attempted to analyze the problem and could not fix, the more we attempted (over 1hour) to ‘fix’ the black smudge which now grew to the point that 1/2 the screen was now black. He (John) ‘suggested’ I return phone to Verizon because Google could not fix / repair the problem over the phone. He (John) contacted Verizon and stated that Verizon would replace it quicker (under warranty). Verizon did indeed replace the Pixel 3 with a REFURBISHED phone, then (2-3 WEEKS later) sends me an email that Verizon will be charging my account $299.00. They, Verizon evaluated the phone and determined that I abused it! Bull! I used it, not abused it! Verizon also stated the phone will NOT be returned to me. The Google 3 warranty is a joke, Verizon evaluation practice/procedures is solely one sided! Neither Google, nor Verizon advised me about their warranty shenanigans / collusion’s ...warranty replacement is a refurbished phone, $299.00 charge, broken phone won’t be returned (so I could have it evaluated by a third party). This black smudge that grows over the screen is a systemic problem with the Google Pixel 3, and Google knows it! Go on line and see for yourself. Get an Apple, Samsung, LG and DON’T do business with Verizon unless you like to get ‘You know what’ via their warranty evaluation and no return policy. VERY DISSATISFIED👎🏻. BBB, FCC & Public Service Commission should look into their warranty procedures. My opinion: Google has fallen off their pedestal, while Verizon can only look up at a pedestal from their home in the 🤬gutter! And I’m a Verizon retiree.

  • pixel 3 or pixel 3 xl? price difference here is just 80 euros now

  • yes of course

  • Yes, it's stock Android. U will feel different from another phone when you are using this one

  • I'm planning to buy one next year. Is it a good phone?

  • No headphone jack = no way Jose.

  • no

  • while comparing Pixel 3 good light image with samsung s10+ the pixel image is comming quite blur i think is because while taking picture the camera got shake if you can fix it or re capture that so it will help us a good comparison.

  • Nope.

  • Recently bought iPhone 7 Plus 128gb for $350. So far I am liking it. Is it worth upgrading to pixel 3?

  • I agree with you guys, it is not fit with gamers. But for me it perfect, The battery is okay I can use it a whole day, I am a slightly user. Software and camera are the best.

  • This phone is not good for businessman and game lovers. Its battery dies in half day.

  • its a good phone, battery life is good enough, camera is wonderful, no added nonsense to os.

  • Actually I don't like pixel 3 much. The good things for this phone are camera and monthly security update. Its price is not worth. Anyway, I got it for free on a $39 plan for 2 years.

  • Not a fan of this phone's battery life. I have to turn on battery saver at all times and got rid of the beautiful AMOLED Live Wallpaper to get respectable battery life again. Everything else is pretty great about it. But that battery life on mobile data is a joke.

  • What do you mean it has Verizon in it? I bought mine on ebay too, the Verizon model. Sadly, the whole internet says it can't be used on other carriers :( What did you do?

  • As mentioned in my recent LG G5 comment, my Pixel 3 stopped connecting to my Wi-Fi network while my other three phones can connect fine. I'm a little bit ticked off about it. I'm hoping the July security patch fixes this. Google's reliability could be as bad as LG or even ASUS. I actually never owned a reliable phone except for my Xiaomi Mi 3. It's probably the only phone that never gave me problems a few years later. Typing on it now while my resurrected LG G5 on Nougat is playing audio. My Pixel 3 is next to it with zero third-party apps installed. I'm just waiting for Quiche to arrive in August so I don't want to keep re-installing apps after I reset everything to new again. I realized I can't really judge a phone until they finally get their FINAL firmware update. My Xiaomi Mi 3 and LG G5 are up-to-date and they seem more stable than than first two years I had them. I'll have my ups and downs with my Pixel 3 no matter what. It's like being in any relationship. At least my Pixel 3 will get all the way to Android S. My Mi 3 went from KitKat to Marshmallow and my G5 only went from Marshmallow to Nougat. Pixels are the only way to go for the most future updates on an Android flagship. My Pixel 3 is an excellent phone. Its battery life is actually lasting a little longer since I deleted everything yesterday. My main qualm is I can't use it at home. I can only use mobile data which kills battery faster and my speeds are capped at only 10 GB per month.

  • plz add folder lock or individual apps lock in System UI nd also should consider dual sim capability

  • So does mine I hate it

  • Right now with galaxy s10. Dont like it over s9. Shall Pixel 4 have micro sd slot and wide angle lens?

  • As mentioned in the Essential PH-1's comment section, this Pixel 3 now becomes my new favorite to use because I broke my Essential Phone by accident yesterday. Was jogging back to my car after a DoorDash order and the Essential flew out of my loose holster case. Accidently kicked it too while on pavement. Never broke a phone after nearly 20 years until yesterday. And it had to happen to my all-time favorite. In fairness, the Pixel 3 is the superior device to use as a phone. Better reception and camera. That's always the one I pick to put my SIM inside. You always need reliable reception and camera anywhere you go. Like I mentioned before, my only qualm with my Pixel 3 is the battery life is mediocre if you browse using mobile data. It lasts longer on Wi-Fi though. And I love the in-hand feel of the Pixel 3. Rounded edges, narrower, and lighter. My love for Essential Phone vs Pixel 3 is very, very close. I could easily flip-flop them every day on which one I prefer. As of today, I have no choice but to love my Pixel 3 the most since my Essential is dead. My Essential won't even turn on anymore. Google Pixel 3 Design - 8/10 Comfort - 9/10 Display - 8.5/10 Reception - 9/10 Camera - 9.5/10 Audio - 8/10 Software - 9.5/10 Battery - 7.5/10 Value - 5/10 (at $900)... 8/10 (at $450 I got it for) I loved this phone though. The first Google phone without using a famous OEM like HTC or LG. Probably the best design among the three Pixel generations. And it really does feel good in the hand. It did refresh for me on Twitter yesterday, so the RAM issues are there. But I have no other bugs for it. I'm on the April 5 update. I don't want to update it anymore because I could ruin its battery life each time. It's generally a smooth experience for me. Has never rebooted on me since I've owned it. It's a great phone so far. The key words are so far. Every phone can deteriorate after six to eighteen months. I've only had this phone since May 2nd. Only six weeks. The good news is I can always go to a uBreakiFixit repair shop if I want the battery replaced. Costs $70. Can't do that for the Essential. R.I.P. my Essential Phone August 29, 2018 - June 13, 2019 Long live my Google Pixel 3 May 2, 2019 - Present

  • If using Wi-Fi, battery life for the Essential and Pixel 3 are about the same. It's noticeably worse on the Pixel 3 if using mobile data. I say about 20% worse. I did two orders yesterday and it killed over 30%. I could deliver 4-6 of those with my Essential with that same 30%. So the Pixel 3 is no marathon king. I noticed yesterday that there is also this weird audio bug. Try playing a YouTube video and then when the notification comes through, the sound is softened. The video's sound is now coming from one speaker while the notification sounds comes from the other. I don't like that. Pixel 3 charges a tad slower but it is still fairly fast. It also heats up a little more when I use it for tethering. I would say other than the camera and in-hand feel, my PH-1 beats it in most areas that are important to me. I also don't like how high the SAR level is while my PH-1 is over 3x lower for the head. Do I regret getting the Pixel 3? No. It's actually a savior now that my LG G5 has been rendered utterly useless as a smartphone. I need it anyway since my PH-1 doesn't get the best reception under T-Mobile around my area. And the camera is ace. Got to have the best camera wherever I go just in case. If I had to pick one phone to rely on, it would be the PH-1. If I had to pick one phone to rely on as a phone, it would be the Pixel 3. I've owned 40 different phones. I think I ended up hating nearly everyone of them. I loved them at first before hating them later. Hoping PH-1 (9 months) & Pixel 3 (1 month) doesn't get there and I will still love it years later. Loved at first before hating - Apple iPhone Apple iPhone 4 Nexus One HTC One M7 LG G5 LG V20 Apple iPhone SE I believe my Xiaomi Mi 3 which I had for 5 years might be the only one I haven't hated after all these years. It still runs pretty well. For every Apple product except my MacBook Air, I always loved it at first. Then as time went on, I ended up hating it. Alot of phones are like that. Breezy speeds. Then slow as molasses. I'm worried my Pixel 3 will reach that stage where it runs like garbage less than 2 years later. I think Essential really put the effort in their first (and only phone so far) knowing it might not have a successor. You can tell the quality and effort was there. PH-1 is not perfect either with phantom touches, weak digitizer, & weak reception but it is one of my few reliable device in years. The reception issues are actually a little bit overblown. I will miss the PH-1 when the battery degrades badly but surprisingly my Mi 3 still runs pretty decent after 5 years. It also runs the coolest of any smartphone I ever had. I will likely stick to the Pixel line for good. I've owned the original and now the 3. I've had excellent experiences with both of them. I just never owned them long enough to know if they're reliable. Only had the og Pixel for 6 months. I may not know the quality might get worse until about 18 months later. Perhaps one of the speakers goes out or whatever. Most phones are like that. They're ticking time bombs. Doesn't matter if you took really good care of them. Planned obsolescence is real. The good news is if I want to replace the battery or get my Pixel 3 fixed in general, there is always a uBreakiFixit store near me. That's the official store to get your Pixels fixed.

  • get a smart band. That's what I did, because I have baby and need to keep phone on silent.

  • I arrive at work today and the entire left side of my Pixel 3 bleeds light. I go to Verizon and they tell me that I broke the screen. There are no visible cracks. The Verizon reps says that I must of broke the screen when sitting in my car driving to work today......wtf...I can't put this phone in back pocket. I dumped the iPhone because it's camera sucks,,,,I bought the Pixel 3 because of its picture taking capabilities....I never would have guessed that for a $1000 phone I can't place it in my back pocket......Well when I'm done making payments on this POS, I will find another phone and it will NOT be a Google product. FU Google and ripping me off a $1000 bucks for a phone that can't simply withstand being put in a back pocket..

  • how is this phone compare to galaxy s10? only what I miss in this phone- micro sd slot and wide angel lens

  • You still keep all your old photos in original quality, but any new photos that you upload from your new phone will be reduced in quality. Basically the unlimited original photo storage only works for the picture taken from you Pixel phone, and the photo will be kept forever

  • No issues with my overnight standby time. It drains like 2-3% like my other two main phones. The main culprit was probably not turning off the automatic email refreshing. I usually do that manually. The Pi Music Player waking up in the background might have been the other problem too but I noticed I turned off adaptive battery and it still drained only 2-3% at most. This Pixel 3 is a great phone. Zero regrets. This will likely be the series of phones I plan to keep upgrading to. There's nothing else out there I'm interested in.

  • Update on my standby issues. It only drained 1% after 7 hours of sleep for both my Essential Phone and Pixel 3. They're set up exactly the same. The main culprits were probably not turning off automatic email refreshing and the Pi Music Player. Actually the Pi app would not play an entire song. I noticed it using headphones first and then through the external speaker. I kept playing Journey's "Separate Ways" to test it. Even had issues using the player in the notification shade. Refused to change songs. Updated the app. The latter issue resolved but not the former of cutting off a song after a minute or so. Uninstalled the app and got a much better music player. Everything is fine. Just make sure to manually refresh email. I do have adaptive battery turned on and have a few apps that are restricted like Play Store, YouTube, QuickPic, and Kiwi Browser. And I still use Greenify that I manually hibernate with the long-press home/pill button. Problem solved. Standby time drain overnight is back to the usual 1-2% I'm accustomed to. Not the 7%-10%. Pixel is a great phone. That was really my only issue. My main issue with my LG G5 which is image retention could be resolved as well using a S-Filter Lite which is different from the S-Filter I used prior. We'll see because that stuff comes back all the time.

  • I'm having standby time issues with this phone. Battery can drain 7-8%% overnight after 6 hours. It wasn't like this initially the first two weeks. My other two phones don't have this issue. They drain about 2-3% after 8 hours of sleep. I think the main culprits are Pi Music Player and Play Store. They remain active for hours in the background. We'll see how it goes. I already turned on adaptive battery and restricted both apps along with Kiwi Browser and YouTube. I did everything else like turning off ambient display and even the one that recognizes songs. I also forgot to turn off my email account automatically refreshing. I always manually refresh that. If it doesn't change, I may have to turn on battery saver every night. If that doesn't work, then I'll just turn off the phone every night. Anywhere between 7-10% drain overnight is not acceptable. I don't use Facebook or whatever resource hungry app. Most of the apps I use are efficient. I even had to install Greenify again and it still drained like that. The Essential Phone is the one phone I have that has rarely given me problems. With that one, I just have to turn it off once every two weeks or the digitizer goes nuts or it freezes. Turning off phones weekly should be mandatory to clear the RAM usage. We'll see because I only put the sim in my Pixel 3 because I prefer its camera the best in case I'm out and about. With Essential, I actually prefer the better notification shade layout (has all 9 when you pull down twice instead of 6) and the speaker is actually louder and sounds more fuller. P3's speakers sounds hallow.

  • Really disappointed in the Pixel 3, used it for 6 months and never been impressed with the mobile performance. Recently the radio failed and going on 10 days for support to 'determine' the issue. Meanwhile I am left with an unusable phone. Warranty is worthless if they never find the issue.

  • I am very disappointed with Google Pixel 3 . The phone is not worthy its value as it is very fragile - it fall from the couch to the floor (around 40 cm) and the back broke into crumbles...clearly not normal for a phone of this price range . Additionally, battery is not as good as expected, as by using, it lasts less than a day

  • You got a refurbished device that's why they send it back have been using this device for about 4months

  • Google pixel 3 is the worst phone ever. I bought this phone from the US and got it to India only to find the phone volume is not working at all! With all the difficulty and burning my pocket, I sent it back to the US for replacement with a new phone! What they do, they send the same and labelling it as refurbished with sim tray and charger missing!! I am yet receive the replacement again.. Being a premium brand, I never expected to experience this! What's the use of paying a bomb on this useless device!! DO NOT BUY THIS AND REGRET LATER! LIKE ME!

  • Already my favorite smartphone ever. 1. Google Pixel 3 2. Essential Phone 3. LG G5 Battery life isn't quite as long as the Essential Phone but still longer than my LG G5 (and V20). Very relieved this Pixel 3 syncs with Android File Transfer for macOS. Everything just feels smoother and comfortable on it. I took about 5 days before finally putting the SIM in because I didn't put all my stuff on it right away and just used it as a backup. Today will be the first day it's going to be my daily driver as my main phone. I think this is a great phone so far that I've had it. I haven't experienced the RAM management issues. I need the Pixels to succeed or many of us are stuck in the Android world choosing between Samsung or the Chinese. I've owned Pixel 1 & 3 and enjoyed them both. This is the product line with smartphones I plan to stay on for life. It has to always be the non-XL one. Never again with iPhone. And I don't like Samsung or these Chinese iOS copycat skins. This phone gets an "A" from me. We'll see down the road the type of problems it has or if they were simply overblown and started by paid Apple and Samsung fanatics ranting about Google products on the Internet.

  • The essential phone come with and LCD screen and the pixel 3 is a poled screen normally LCDs are more brighter than poled screens. I have seen so many comments about ram. I haven't encounter any of that I personally think 4gb of ram is ok for a pixel device the only downside of the pixel 3 is battery life 2910mhm power is not good enough for the device but it can make it through the day even if you are a heavy user. Camera and software is just magnificent

  • I love this phone so far! Its only weaknesses are battery life isn't the best and the display is quite dim. If the brightness is 31% on my Essential, I have to go 47% on the Pixel 3. If 50% in the former, about 66% in the latter. But what's weird is they start to nearly match by the 75%. I use AMOLED LiveWallpaper with blank icons and only the name of the app is on display in white. I set the live wallpaper to only 15 FPS instead of 60 and it's smooth already. Conserve battery as well. I also don't regret the black one. I have no issues of the black scratching. I take really good care of my phones. I still don't see the RAM management issues or other little quirks yet. I'm still on the November patch. The March one I've read brought back issues again. The camera is amazing and the software experience is great. Maybe in a few months, feelings could change. My Essential Phone is still a great phone. I've had it for only 8 months. The fingerprint scanner doesn't recognize my fingers right away. Not all the time at least. So it's starting to show its age and I did clean it. I could have issues with this Pixel months from now. All three phones I rotate daily (LG G5, Essential, and Pixel 3) aren't perfect. No phone really is especially the older they get. My G5 has the worst battery life, overheats randomly, and annoying image retention. But tends to be great all-around and the only one with IR blaster and multiple batteries. Essential has the fingerprint scanner issue and inferior digitizer. I don't have issues with call quality. That's more with T-Mobile's spotty coverage. The phone is awkward to hold but the actual design, build quality, and battery life is no doubt the best. Pixel 3 has RAM issues and whatever else people have complained about. But I love the feeling of the phone when I hold it. An even narrower phone than my G5. It also has the best camera and noticeably the fastest. I genuinely like all three phones and fairly equally even with all their flaws. Feelings could change in six months. My favorite brand of phones are now Pixels. I'll be sad if the Pixel 4 and 5 flop again, Google will get out of the phone hardware business for good. Their Nexus devices weren't exactly popular either. We will all end up with Samsung or another Chinese copycat as our only Android options. Pixel may not be around for very long if it keeps flopping in sales. But so many people bash it. I get it. They have flaws but Google could always pull the plug and you will regret losing them.

  • Pixel 3 is and awesome device I have been using it for about 3months now the only downside is the battery life. 2910mhm power not good enough for a 850euros device but it can make it through the day. I don't need to talk about the camera and software because is the best. Awesome screen

  • Well Google, add 3.5 mm jack and FM radio, so the phone will be more useful. Otherwise you will be following Sony.

  • Battery life isn't that great. Google's apps are annoying and difficult to use. If you add a photo to an album, the text app can't find it. If you use the web messages feature, your messages sometimes get lost. Lots of dumb push notification spam from Google. Why is it telling me about a hockey game when I've never searched for hockey and never watched a full hockey game in my life?

  • And stock android isn't? They removed the option for custom contact colors, custom message colors, can't change font, can't change AOD style, can't even remove the google searchbar from home screen. Flexibility!

  • Yes, apple is bad but Google is worse. Google makes the best software but when it comes to hardware, *slap face emoji* ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

  • Be stuck in their sandbox.

  • Have no doubt. Google is cheating us. I sent the phone for service with in three days of purchase regarding the low ring volume issue. After a week , they are saying that they have checked the volume and it is as per the standard. I asked them what is their standard decibels but they dont know about decibel and they dont have any standard over that. The person told me that when he hear the Ring Tone it seems to be ok for him!! now they are sending back my phone. No replacement. My God! what a fool i am.

  • is your Ring Tone volume ok? do you find it good enough?

  • I have not had those problems

  • If I buy just only for camera shooting. Use it for instead of my canon.

  • Buying Pixel 3 is the worst decision I have ever done. This device has internet and wifi issue: it will keep reconnecting without any good reason and it cannot provide stable internet. I can promise this is a device problem because all my other devices work well under the same wifi provider and same sim card. And their customer service is a basically a joke. I thought google will do a good job, but instead, they tend to think you are silly and give you all the solutions you have tried and not to admit this is their problem. The feedback system of this device is useless. No one will care about your feedback. So my suggestion is that never use a Google cellphone. They don't know how to provide a high-quality cellphone yet. Unless you try to drive yourself some nuts.

  • Galaxy s7 is lag as hell.

  • poor mans iphone? lmao the best iphone out is equal to a GALAXY S7. the iphone xr has a screen resolution of 720

  • Never go for this phone, this is having very low Ring Volume totally useless in practical.

  • S10e has better display, better battery, better build quality.

  • hello, im looking for smaller phone, considering pixel 3 (650eur) vs s10e (750eur) could someone help to decide which is better value for money according price that I mentioned above?

  • Google are just making a poor man's iPhone. Although, I shouldn't say a "poor man" because they charge the same prices as Apple for inferior products. They mocked Apple for ditching the headphone jack, then followed suit. Meanwhile, Samsung & LG keep the jack without any trade-offs. Google made fun of Apple for the notch, then they create the biggest notch ever! They don't have the quality control, customer service or ecosystem to come anywhere close to rivalling Apple.

  • Pixel 3 (non XL) has no notch, better speakers and screen brightness, but worse battery life and only FHD+ display. If battery life, screen size & display are important to you, choose the XL version. Or alternatively, spend your money elsewhere. Both phones are overpriced iphone wannabes.

  • Pixel 3 is having very very low Ring Volume.Totally unusable. Dont lose your money like me.You will not get a replacement in India.

  • Just go S10e can't beat it best phone on market.

  • Nice phone, but undoubtedly Google is becoming more “evil” than Apple and no one bats an eye. How, you ask? Phone is made to appeal to Apple user – clean slate with no aesthetically appealing cameleon / colour changing features, but very recognisable as a phone. In addition, very clean and uncluttered systems is an Apple like. Yes, the phone takes stunning photos, but like all other Android phones is great in one area, but rather poor in overall. I managed to freeze several apps in a span of 3 weeks, phone is often unresponsive, or less responsive than my Iphone 6s. What I find the most annoying is how Google treat their customers. Apple was slated online for not having memory card slot, for removing headphone jack, adding the “notch” (famous Samsung “Genius” parody) or for trying to sell a very expensive phone in general. Pixel managed to achieve the same, however people suddenly forgot how much of a nuisance it was. But that’s not the biggest problem. Most Android users claim that this system is very open and not focused on profit. Well, think again, as Google is set up on maximalisation of profits! 1. Charger. Do you have a generic Qualcom Fast / Turbo charger to quickly charge your phone? Well, it won’t charge your Pixel quickly. The only quick charger is the original Google charger, which cost more than £30. 2. Pixel doesn’t have the jack port, but you can use the provided earbuds. What you can’t use is a generic USB C / jack adapter. It won’t work. 3. People complained how poorly Apple USB cables are. After having Apple for couple of years, I didn’t experience damaged cable, however I have already noticed a bid crease / bulge on the Pixel earphone cable close to the USB plug. It will get damaged easily. 4. Wireless charging. I can understand that a company adds extra features to own product to sway consumers, but they should never remove features to force them to buy own branded product. Only the google charger (£69!!) will charge Pixel at higher rate. All other fast chargers will limit this to 50%. On top of that, this charger will not charge other phones as fast charger. Don’t get me wrong, this is a good phone I don’t regret buying it, but after trying many Google products I see that those are not worth the hype, most reviews look to be paid by Google, considering that our privacy is also “sold” to Google

  • Use iphone x instead.

  • no get the pixel 4 these phones have very little ram for their price

  • Hello guys, my daily phone is iPhone 8 but I am thinking about moving to Pixel 3. Is it worth? The main thing I am afraid of is battery. I have read a lot of reviews and poeple say that the battery is really weak.

  • It does sound like that

  • So google wants you to buy their "special headphones," when my headset is likely superior in quality... 2019 sure is strange.

  • I just got my phone last week, now in my first week of using it... The only problem I had with this phone is battery optimization... I don't know whether because is a new phone. I heard some people says that it takes time for the OS to optimize battery life based on user usage (true or myth?)... Everytime after fully charge my phone, within 5 mins just without any usage, simply idle there, the battery started draining,

  • Please add camera sensor details as well!

  • This phone has given me sooo much annoyance that I'm getting piss. It seems like Google is purposely making the pixel 3 be bad at every small corner that most people won't easily not care about. Why did I even buy this phone..... 1) Why on earth is exfat external thumdrive not support but my other android 9 sony phone does work. 2) battery management on the pixel 3 sucks alot. 3) how on earth did my gboard prediction gone worse 4) why can't I edit the specific letter on chrome omnibar( recently fix) 5) the phone crash like no tomorrow 6) memory/ram management is bad/ random 7) I thought Google were genius in software so why isn't there a default tasker mode for example at 2300 make phone bright to low and turn on night light then turn back to original when it's 0600, make use of your software skill to improve our daily life's, I don't even care about digital wellbeing. 8) why is there no AM/PM on the clock on the notification top screen Things I actually appreciate 1) flip to shhh/ flip to on do not disturb mode is very handy 2) Camera is good

  • its 2019 and world is making the jack disappear. by 2020 u should buy motorola if u want the jack.

  • Between the Pixel 3 and the iPhone XR which one has: 1. Support compressed file format (HEVC)? 2. Record video in stereo? 3. Audio in video is recorded at a higher bitrate i.e. 128Kbps or above? 4. Louder speakers? 5. Stabilization in both front & rear cameras? 6. Has better dynamic range, low-light, overall sharpness & detail, less noise, less oversaturation/overexposure, etc.?

  • wrong, you can plug in headphones. I do. Just needed to plug in the included 3.5->Type C adapter and put the headphones on.

  • Samsung camera isn't even close to Pixel 3...especially in night mode and especially on 10e!

  • And cross your fingers. Did not work for me.

  • No, no no. Not ready for prime time. I'd go back to my 2013 Droid mini in a heartbeat if the system was still being supported. The Google Pixel 3 seems like an iPhone wanna be. And I did not want an iphone. That's why I went with what seemed to be the most Android of all systems. But all the operating system seems slick, the phone functionality is really unsatisfactory. Volume controls are particularly vexing. Albany can or so ringtones that come stock on the phone I have not yet found one that I can actually hear in my relatively quiet office. I miss every call that comes in. and no it is not my hearing that is at fault. I like to use the media feature at night as I'm falling asleep. I said a volume that is comfortable for that purpose. But somehow even when I set the alarm volume at its highest level it gets knocked back down and I have a hard time hearing it. So what good is a phone if it can't tell you if I can wait when you have a call, or when your alarm is going off. It's good to make calls. Sort of. Or at least to no better than my 6 year old phone was capable of doing. But it does take nice photos.

  • Not when you can get Samsung S10e

  • I notified FedX to not even bother to deliver the device after running into Google customer service trying to sort a problem. My favorite point in the exchange is when they tried to blame their problem on me and then this quote "we've not faced any such issues with Store in a while" . Honestly you can't make this stuff up. Needless to say, while the phone looks awesome it's not worth dealing with their customer service. And that was when I could still return the phone. Can you imagine what it would be like after?

  • Well the parts are expensive but the lack of execution as a whole really makes you think about what they were doing. They could have done soo much better and they could have taken a hint from apple and used an lcd display like they do so that theres no screen burn in and it would look nicer. Ive seen lots of reveiwers not fond of googles screen choice

  • I used this phone for a week before returning it. Here's a few things I noticed that were too frustrating or annoying - for me, anyway. • Memory management is awful. I thought this was something I wouldn't notice, but wow. If you have a few apps open and you switch back to one, there's a good chance it's going to re-load whatever you're switching to. • Battery life. It got a little better, probably due to Google's "Adaptive Battery" but it's still pretty awful. I would lose ~10% during the night if it wasn't plugged in. Sure, it's got fast charging but I don't want to have to plan around charging my phone during the day. Using stuff like the camera accelerates the battery loss pretty quickly. • Camera. It does a lot of things well, but in the end, I still find some of the photos to be way too punchy for my taste. That being said, the image quality itself is fantastic. Low light photos are way, way noisier than they should be. • Video. No 4K60 - I like shooting video on my phone and this seems like a big oversight. • Audio. The audio, especially when you're recording, is somehow so, so incredibly bad. I don't get it at all. It's like someone forgot about this during the QC testing.

  • on all phones you saying almost same bad words : no card, no headphones jack, small battery and etc.... For example I dont need headphone jack or sd card slot. Im quite suspiciuos you working at xiaomi... :D

  • No sdcard slot, no Fm radio, no 3.5jack, very tragic battery, very expensive, google you are crazy. Very bad phone.

  • 3 years

  • What about software , how many years give software updates

  • The problem is that when the maximum playback power is set, the same ringtone sounds much stronger in multimedia than in ringing. When ringing, the sound is very quiet and if Pixel 3 has a case, it is practically not heard. With the phones I've had so far, I did not have this problem - the volume of the speakers is the same when ringing or listening through multimedia. Of course, I've set the volume up to max.

  • Press the volume button (up or down), click the settings button shown, four volume configurations are available: 1) Media volume 2) Call volume 3) Ring volume 4) Alarm volume

  • is ist worth to buy the pixel 3 for 600 euro ?

  • what are you talking about the Pixel 3 is a direct competitor to the XS. Even though they are not matched price wise. the XS Max is more matched for the Note 9.

  • Can anyone explain why Pixel 3 speakers sound so loud for multimedia and so faint when ringing? I think this is a software bug and hopefully Google fix it in the near future.

  • The Pixel 3 isn't meant to be compared to a phone like the XS. Of course the XS is better in a lot of things. Compare something like the Note 9 to XS and see. But in my opinion Pixel 3 camera is miles better and more natural looking. XS has too much artificial filtering.

  • I dont know what makes this phone expensive?

  • The XS beats the P3 in almost every aspect... better battery life, faster, better screen, less buggy software, better audio quality, for music and video, higher memory capacity, camera is personal preference but i prefer the iPhone for more natural looks. but probably the camera is the only department where Pixel is better at.

  • No offence to any iPhone user. But the Xs has the same specs but costs more doesn’t it?

  • Small battery, 4 GB RAM, no headphone jack, 1080p screen, no SD card slot... That's kind of a joke at this price point, tbh.

  • Some people still prefer small display. If you prefer huge display just buy XL type

  • Apple seems to sell a phone without headphone jack for £1000. People will buy anything now, as long as it is a big brand.

  • WTF crappy small screen phone for how much google is nuts. $800 for this no phone jack no SD card slot and it's ugly too.

  • Please add switching option (rear to front camera) while recording videos

  • Made by Google @madebygoogle I don't know with what should I start. I've buyed the Pixel 3 14 days ago and with only one day of using the device realizing that the microphone doesn't work. It's my first time dealing with Google devices and don't have any experience with their ultimately bad Customer service. I've called them and explained what happened and they started with the same boring details ( reset the phone, do that do this) and it all didn't work. After 3 days they sent me an Email with the steps i should do to send the phone back to them and then they send me a new one. I bought a packing case and put the phone in and gave it to ups. After one week no one sent me anything or that the phone is there. I called them one more time amd they assured me that it is only a matter of time and I will get the new phone and that they "have the phone infront of them". After another week i called them and he told me that the phone is lost in the Warehouse and that they will find it and send me an Email. Now Google was that right? That was your defective phone not mine. Why should i wait all of this? Why did they lie to me at first saying that the phone is infront of them and then the phone is lost in the warehouse? That was a really sad experience with Google.

  • If they still haven't delivered the product you're most likely eligible for a refund. Report this to whatever local trading standards authority and they can help with either getting you a product or refund

  • Bottom line ... if you have a Pixel 2, don't upgrade - not worth it. It's nice phone but not worth the $$ to "upgrade." I wish I had my old P2 back. I miss the notification LED but have worked around it a little with the Ap Pixel Pulse. Not a good substitute though. Nice phone, but I'd take my old P2 deal back in a second. P3 is just not that good. I won't fall for it next time. "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me."

  • Sadly that the camera audio is trash compared to the Pixel 2

  • Believe me people - I have used it for more than a month. Its probably the best phone out there. Camera is mindblowing. night sight feature is simply groundbreaking. The build quality of the phone is so premium. Software experience is smooth and enjoyable. Something that surprised me is the battery. Google clearly has done some optimizations in their updates. It easily gets me through the day with 30 to 40% remaining after moderate to heavy usage. The only worrying factor for me was the ring volume. It was less than what i had expected. But i hope google will find a way out. Loudspeaker is super loud by the way. its the phone of the year- for me without doubt. Go get it guys!!!!!!!!

  • Can someone tell me how much storage is already taken when activated?

  • You forgot to mention Pixel's premium build quality (no cheap shitty plastic), best in business camera and stereo speakers, silky smooth pure Android experience etc etc. So the high price tag is mostly justified. Only more expensive iPhone Xs is overall better phone. Also with completely justifiable price :).

  • Pixels are over priced like iphones, so many other good ones like samsung you can choose.

  • triple the price of a poco f1 for oled display

  • Hey! :) I'm using the Samsung Gear s3 and I was wondering if I would be able to use the Pixel 3 with it because it's not on Samsungs website but there's also a section that says: "Gear S3 pairs with smartphones running Android 4.4 and higher with over 1.5GB RAM, iOS 9.0 and later, and smartphones iPhone 5 and newer." And a lot of tech forums says that it possible, so it would be quite silly if it didn't work. So please help me out. :) Sincerely A confused Phone User. Sorry for the bad punctuation and spelling. I'm not that good at English. :)

  • With all those specs, it looks like a midranger.

  • What is up with companies release garbage phones ??? Either they add garbage notch and huge bottom bezel, or they add both huge bezels, and no physical buttons, so the bottom 2 kilometers of the phone is absolutely useless...

  • Logistics experience so bad I'll never buy another physical product from google: Nov. 28 - I order a Pixel 3 XL, paying full price, with expected deliver Dec. 8-11 Dec. 10 - I receive notification that my phone shipment is delayed, with no notice of when they *do* expect the phone to arrive I call customer service, and a very nice person tells me it will be shipped out by tomorrow, Dec. 11 Dec. 11 - the phone has not shipped out I call customer service again, this time another very nice person (Mena) says that it has to be handled by their shipping team, which will get in touch with me within 48 hours Dec. 12 - Google runs a promotion selling Pixel 3 XL's for $150 off. They are discounting phones that they don't even have? Dec. 13 - 48 hours has expired, and I have still received no contact of any kind from the mythical shipping team I call customer service again, this time another very nice person (Mike) says that he'll prioritize to the shipping team I have heard nothing since. Frankly I'll get an iPhone next time - I've had androids for years but the iPhone I use for work has been perfectly fine, and you actually receive the product when you order it.

  • Thanks

  • Great thanks.

  • You have the white XL?

  • I think you're using a different phone lol

  • You don't have to use OK Google, just squeeze the phone to activate google assistant

  • it works, but i had to redo the voice learning to make it work correctly

  • my experience with the Pixel 3 (non XL) certainly wasn't disastrous as yours, but I still returned it. battery life is pretty shoddy, it's true. I also don't like google's half-baked gestures , and some of the design choices for the messages & contacts app are hideous. so much white and easter egg colours!

  • My pixel 3 experience first up it's utterly bad! Photos are nothing to write home about oh and you are locked in to using Google photos app can't open pictures or videos in a 3rd party gallery app like simple gallery pro. Anyone who says otherwise is just dumbly believing the media hype. Battery life sucks I'm a light to medium user can get half a day from it. Display goes funny colours sometimes. There is a static noise when making a call it's even worse when charging at same time the speakers in general are bad almost always have distortion. And a background static noise in every video you take. It overheats constantly! During setup, while on charge, while making a call, when you use it as a hotspot, while sending files to my PC via wifi or Bluetooth. I have a disability and can only use the phone one handed it isn't as good as they make it out to be. Messages go missing and so do photos. Can't use it properly with wireless charging unless you pay A$120 for the Google Pixel stand. I brought some in ear usb-c headphones because the ones that came with the ohone don't work for me I don't like the way they feel in my ears but the stupid phone won't let me use them because they are not compatible. The only thing this phone is good for is hitting a Google employee around the head with. I want to like this phone. I do like the no bloatware. But even the Sony Xperia XZ2 compact is a better device. I WISH I NEVER BROUGHT THIS USELESS PHONE.

  • Can someone please tell me does OK Google work while the screen is locked ?

  • This phone is a joke. Small screen big bezel, poor battery life, slow charging. The only plus is good camera.

  • How does Google STILL not have bezeless phones?

  • pixel endurance battery = 69hr S6 Edge = 73hr

  • Samsung Galaxy S6 edge? LMAO! Bruh, that had terrible battery life! And no Samsung tops Google with the smooth software experience.

  • at last we have a really smartphone.

  • lol this is amazibg

  • The camera is the best thing? You are so wrong... what about: unlimited google storage? best integrated assistant? best photo gallery? stereo sound for games and videos? best and clean user interface? monthly updates with improvements? pixel 1 and 2 users have the same features like pixel 3... and pixel 3 will have features form pixel 4... so the user experience is always new and you need to upgrade only when the device is too old... :D etc etc etc...... Pixel users will never switch for other android phones... like Huawei... best AI NPU... etc... but no assistant or smart things... ultra battery but on endurance test(gsmarena) pixel 2 xl is better... only Samsung/sonny can be compared with a pixel phone... but they need some software improvements...

  • What about unlimited storage on googles server, what about software, what about ip 68, what about 3 years support, what about stock android without issues...???

  • No SD Card, No Iris Scanner, only 128gb storage, SD845 already outdated, 1080p screen.. a 1080p screen, my samsung s6 edge which is almost 4 yrs old now has a 1440p screen. there is literally nothing good about this phone besides the camera.

  • With that battery life no thank you.

  • Shame on you. Move on, companies have to adapt.

  • PLEASE DONT BYE as i am experiencing hardship with it. first one came with display and audio problem which was replaced with a new one in which audio is inaudible so i have to return it back and wait . only god knows whats going to happen to the hard earned money which i have paid. sorry google i didnt expect this from you as i have been using nexus for past 4 years.

  • I was too surprised to hear that they had removed the SD slot from Galaxy Nexus back then, but when I looked it up, the explanation was interesting - the decision to remove the SD slot was an architectural decision, as it improves stability and usability. After giving it a try and seeing the differences, I started only purchasing devices that have no SD slots, as they're truly more stable.

  • I am never gonna show appreciation for Google's phones as long as Google features no SD card slot in the SIM tray because it has always been a trademark of iPhones. Shame on you, Google.

  • Hi, I just need to know if the e-sim capability works in tandem with the nano-sim or just a single Sim works in the pixel 3.

  • What a jackass, Apple can never match the performance of the Galaxys on their best devices.

  • Except even apple admitted they slow down iphones. Stop being a sheep.

  • Sounds like you've been brainwashed by apple. They made old phones slower in order to be able to run such new iOS. They throttle

  • It's an android. It shouldn't cost more than $600. Its not on the level of Note 9. And pls stop mentioning iPhones here.

  • iOS 12 made all iPhones including 5 year old iPhone 5S faster. Stop spreading lies

  • They said audio quality sucked out of the USB C dongle, would it improve if I plug in a third party USB C dongle?

  • Yes..I switched to iPhone again from pixel 2

  • I agree that the pixel line is overpriced. But I love my pixel 3. I'm sure the ram issues will be fixed and I'm not someone who needs to have pokemon go, spotify and everything else running at the same time. imo it's a worthwhile tradeoff for the camera, design, updates and other features.

  • It's up to you. I prefer non-xl. No notch and better size. My display has maybe a little pink shift but nothing like the blue on the P2XL. Apart from that the display is gorgeous.

  • There's no value for money here. The pixel has lost its overwhelming camera advantage, it uses an underclocked SD 845, it has a poor battery life.

  • So... What you're saying is that we should buy the pixel 3 xl instead of the pixel 3?

  • Pixel 3 XL has Samsung screen Pixel 3 has LG screen Opposite of last year.

  • Same here. Best phone I've ever owned. The white model is so sexy. Screen is much improved over pixel 2 and speakers are great. Battery life is ok, nothing special but I have pixel stand for convenient quick charging.

  • Got my phone almost after having it for 12 hours now ,it feels very premium and value for money after pixel 1 ..very perfect on hand ,very fast, camara is awesome. Screen very good . Speakers awsome.

  • Made by Alphabet (google) direct, with Samsung screen and qualcomm chips. they were/are buying HTC and they bought out motorola years ago so they have all the skills, resources to do it.

  • LOL the first thing I do whenever they have a review is checked the tag time or I should see the standby time it's a pity what they did to this phone standby time sucks you will have to walk with a charger everywhere you go these companies do not learn

  • u used to have good reviews. nowadays all your reviews r same (nothing new) and somewhat it feels like u guys only do a reviews cause u HAVE To. shame ;( REAL Pros: Excellent Audio Awesome camera all around. (way better then SAm and IPhone) Compact, with great in-hand feel. Smooth Software (Tons of apps that really make your everyday life easier! u guyz never bothered to even mention). Real Cons: The back is slippery (can confirm) and scratches easily Limited availability. who cares about No 4K/60fps video recording? how often do u use it? 1s ina lifetime :) that r all the cons.

  • Who is the manufacture of Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL

  • 12 mp main and dual 8/8 mp front camera? this is utter sh*t.

  • Iam getting mine today, Google Phone is a unique phone to buy, design i like most , it works fast and to be with developer like google is to be with world in hand , lets check whether it happens as assumed

  • Was ready to pull the trigger on this phone and then I see 69 battery rating. Really? This is the best you can do?

  • I’m getting my order tomorrow... but after reading GSM review I’m not sure the battery life will be good enough.

  • size good, I dont like phones for Bighands, I have normal hand and I like to use phone with one hand... would buy this phone, but battery not worth to buy. Currently using phone with similar body size, but endurance rating over 100 hour and battery still is not big enough.

  • Very weak endurance rating, you need a power pank into second pocket... why not a good battery? shame

  • I can now verify it now works flawlessly in Jordan after getting it from the US when they told me it has Verizon in it included, and it should work in other countries if you purchase it from the US as I did.

  • I've found that my battery life is great lasting me all day and having about 30% ish left before I put it on the charger. I also find it to be a good size too I don't like larger phones either (I don't want to use two hands to use my phone). 10/10 do recommend.

  • I feel like GSMArena have completely forgotten to review this phone and the XL. LOL

  • I was torn between those two as well, I ultimately went with the pixel 3 though because the camera, stereo speakers, fast updates, and tried and true fingerprint scanner. The 6T does undeniably have a better battery and memory management but I think those things can be addressed with the pixel's software updates to some extent

  • Stuck between P3 (non XL) and OP6T OP6T + cheaper + better build quality + dash charge - no ip rating - no stereo speakers - no always on display p3 + better camera + better screen + faster updates - more expensive - inferior build quality (multiple issues with ram management, audio etc.) - smaller battery

  • The Pixel 3 hits the shelves in two days time when will we see the review. Most people would like to see the review before purchasing! Come on GSM!!!!

  • Where the heck is your review of the Pixel phones?

  • That's the only 2 things that are holding me back from the PIxel 3, the battery life and RAM. I got nothing else to go for that is sort of compact in Android which is sad because I am looking at going to an iPhone 8, purely based on size alone. I'm not a big phone person.

  • I would get a Pixel 3 just for Night Sight.

  • I am actually a fan of the design. If it changes next year, we all know the following one will look nearly identical. That's just how it goes. I like the size and in-hand feel of the Pixel 3 as well. The two downsides - Below average battery life and only 4 GB of RAM which was first seen on Android since 2015 with the ASUS Zenfone 2. I could live with the price but that battery life and the RAM not seeming future-proof enough. I'm not an Apple fan or iOS fan and probably never will be. If I was being objective, I think the cheaper iPhone XR offers better value. You can get the 128 GB XR for $100 cheaper than the 128 GB Pixel 3. You would just have to deal with the inferior camera and bigger size. XR wins in value, speed tests (RAM management), future updates, and long, long battery life. It beats the XS Max by one full hour on Tom's Guide. The Pixel 3 only wins in one-handed/in-hand comfort and camera. The red XR also looks hot to me. I just don't think the $800 Pixel 3 is really that better than my $224 Essential Phone which only loses in camera but wins everywhere else. I feel Pixel 4 might be worth the wait. I've also dealt with dim LG displays and don't want to go through that again.

  • Iphone has a better SOC than qualcomm.

  • Pixel 2 have a lot of problems in start and 3 is the same. They than put a lot of update to fix it.There is some P3 with screen issues....

  • LoL, nice comment.

  • LG G3. Even older.

  • It's too late for your review. Pls asap...

  • no, it's not. Go look at the speed test versus the iPhone. It's a joke.

  • Mate, 4GB of RAM is enough...

  • please put the review down thanx

  • Do you think Google doesn't know how much RAM is needed for their Android/phone? If Google doesn't know how android work I don't expect Samsung to know(or others)... Is a simple thinking!!!

  • poor choice of pricing.so much money for problem fullnobile

  • Was really looking forward to getting rid of my Note 8 and getting the Pixel this year, after last year's fiasco. But somehow looking at this i can't help but think that replacing my 1 year old phone with the Pixel 3 is somewhat of a downgrade.

  • year old on specs? lol, the only thing that is missing is extra RAM.

  • this phone seems a year or so behind spec? who would ever buy this?

  • Hi, Please give us the review as soon as possible because I want to know about the battery score so that I can make a purchase decision soon. I can always relate my battery life to gsmarena's testing so I need to know the hour score of the smaller pixel 3. Thank You.

  • What happened to Pixel 3 review??? still testing???

  • I also am eagerly waiting for the gsmarena review because I want to know how many dB for voice and gsmarena is the only review site which gives this important information.

  • It take too much time to wait GSM review...

  • exact dimensions that i want, but why so expensive?

  • GSM taking a long time to review this phone.

  • When is the review for Pixel 3...

  • @GSMArena Still waiting for your review on this (especially your battery testing). Thank you.

  • Fair enough, I forgot about this lol

  • we want a review for pixel 3!

  • As usual my dude. How can we bash the goddess apple? I can't with these people

  • What happens to all your photos and unlimited storage if you change to a different android phone after six months.?

  • Here's a source: Oh wait, that says Apple did slow down phones. Hmmmm. Maybe someone jumped the gun on calling others names.

  • Any source?

  • Apple doesn't underclock their devices you twit. And at least their devices have decent battery life even with tiny batteries. I don't care how much Apple charges because I don't use their products. But I do care how much google charges because I want to buy their devices and the pixel 3 can't achieve the same battery endurance and performance as iphones with a tiny battery

  • if the standard Pixel 3 had a notch i’d get one in a heart beat. Shame it doesn’t.

  • Checked out the Pixel 3 / 3 XL at my local Best Buy. I like the smaller Pixel 3 in black very much. The camera is fantastic and love the smooth software experience of Pie. It looks like a shorter S8/S9 with a slightly bigger forehead/chin but a matte back which I prefer. I say wait for Black Friday. Gift card might be worth $300. I hope the Pixel 4 gets 4 cameras. Two in the front and two in the back. I prefer wide-angle with the same algorithm. I think the Super Res Zoom needs improvement but it could get so good by some point, it can eliminate the need for Telephoto. Super Res Zoom, Top Shot (HTC Zoe copy), and Night Sight should all improve as time goes on. I like the black Pixel 3 (128 GB) but not for $899. Even the $650 Pixel 1, I liked it very much but didn't think it was worth that much. I'll wait for a deal that drops it below $400.

  • That's a 2018 phone, not a 2015/16 one as he claims. Also pixel 3 has true stereo speakers, unlike any other Samsung and iPhone.

  • LG Q7 is 2018 model.. haha

  • check out LG Q7 with 5.5 inch screen

  • And update your iPhone so it will be slower, forcing you to get a newer model thanks to Apple's planned absolecence. And.. it's better..! I think you had enough Internet for today dude..

  • Really? You know a company named apple right?

  • Really? Name one 2015 phone with a 5,5 screen in 146mm height.

  • I don't know whether it's true or not but they have underclocked all the cpu cores and possibly the gpu as well. I think it's done to improve battery life since they were too cheap to put in a bigger battery. They're doing this to increase their profit margin even though it's already at a ridiculous amount. They're just too greedy

  • charger and ports don't have to do anything with being ugly

  • Gooogle Pixel 1 can also upgrade to latest Android 9.

  • i want a headphone jack. give it back. type c adapters are garbage. why did they take it?! give. it. back.

  • lite version.. cheaper version for emerging markets.🤔👍

  • As a Tracfone/Straigttalk Representative , I agree with your statement that most of the IPhones even newer model IPhones have antennae issues. Our customer experience like NO SERVICE and SEARCHING in fact the area has excellent coverage and we have no fix using our system, instead refer them back to the phone manufacturer (Apple).

  • damn!! is this true??

  • It says that its design is from 2015, but the iPhone up to 7 with the same design, and to top it all they took out the iPhone 5 se itself. You can not talk about desing bro

  • Nevermind

  • They had to underclock it just to improve battery life and prevent throttling which is a very bad sign. It means they are too cheap to use energy efficient components and a heatpipe and also too lazy to optimise battery life. This is unacceptable for a device that costs this much.

  • $749 iPhone XR: 720p, wider notch, inferior camera, no fast charger & dongle. It's beautiful! $799 Pixel 3: 1080p, no notch, comes with fast charger & dongle. It's ugly and expensive!

  • Never heard about iPhones? Even the 5s can be updated to iOS 12. So yes between these 2, iPhone is a better choice.

  • Design is still 2015-2016.

  • how do you know for the longer software support ?

  • Good luck with your iPhone XR. I returned the iPhone XS MAX after 4 days. I've owned every iPhone that was ever made. Deeply entrenched in the IOS echo system. I own a 2014 power book , 2 Apple TV, and 5 iPads (one for every person in my family.) I suffered through antennagate on the iPhone 4, and Apple's fix to the problem, I was holding the phone wrong. Apple has a serious issue with cellular service again on the new iPhones. Do some research on the internet about cellular signal issues with the new iPhone. Users are reporting higher dropped calls and bad call quality on the new iPhones. I experienced all this first hand on AT&T"s network but it's not carrier specific. IOS 12.01 appears to have fixed the wireless network issue for some but not all users. Do your homework before buying. I was a guinea pig the first time around with iPhone 4, not happening again. Plus with every version of IOS it slowly cripples your version of iPhone. I upgraded my old iPhone 6 plus, my backup phone, to the latest version of IOS and it useless now. Severe lag in every application and apps randomly crashing. I even had the battery replaced for 29.00 through the Apple battery replacement program, that did not fix it. The current iPhone is beautiful and super fast but clearly shows not enough testing was done ahead of time before it's release. No way in hell Apple did not experience the issues that thousands of people are complaining about. I for one am tired of Apples crap. I made the switch and purchased the Pixel 3, it arrives on Oct 22nd, this will be my first ever Android based phone. A couple of workers in my office owned the Pixel 2 had nothing but great things to say about them, so I made the swith.

  • huge price tag for the smoothness i think that's reasonable. but i will chose iPhone XR over this phone, not so different in price tag and same smoothness, but longer software support for the same price tag 800 USD. don't care about OLED panel or notchless display.

  • New Pixel? PFFFT!!! Bring back the Nexus lineup!

  • Literally one of the most disappointing phones after the iPhone Xr

  • Small battery for a big screen only 4GB ram small disk space for 860 euros phone. Average main camera and poor front. Thats not what people wants for 860 euros. Also no jack and SD slot.

  • I ordered one. Not happy about not having a headphone jack (upgrading from a motorola G6 which I love!) Looking for an improved camera. Hate the notch on the XL. I wish these flagship phones were in the 300-500 price range so everybody could afford them.

  • Read it scratches real easy here - Then I've read they are easy to remove - Too bad the camera isn't much of an upgrade according to Max Lee's camera comparison. The Pixel 2 was just so good already that it was hard to improve upon it only a year later. Still, I prefer the Pixel 3 over 2 because the bezels got smaller and "5.5 over "5. To save money, get Pixel 2. Pixel 3 or Sony Xperia XZ3 Compact will be my next phone.

  • When you have a Nexus 5 (previously I had a nexus 4) with microphone issues and NFC broken then you start looking for another phone. I was waiting for this one... but the price just killed me and I bought another phone (same processor) with even more RAM, more MP and non-Chinese for 300 dollar less.... Sorry Google... faster updates don't justify the price tag. You just lost a client.

  • can other Qi chargers enable the pixel to act as google home when docked?????

  • The Pixel 3 looks exactly like the smaller version of the Pixel 2XL

  • I like this over Pixel 3 XL, but overall the Galaxy Note9 wins on feature packed smartphone.

  • This isn't much of a step up from the regular pixel lol.

  • Software? But pixel has stock android and no additional software features. The same stock android is available in the lowest range phone. Why would people buy stock android at insanely high price?

  • and that's why I'm going for Nokia's Android One

  • Nice phone

  • Why waste money on a device where 5G is expected to roll out sometime in 2019 or 2020. Wait for 5G devices rather than waste money on these.

  • Yes, you should find it a much smoother experience and camera upgrade.

  • People buy pixel devices not because of the specs but because of the software

  • 2 questions: I'm thinking of upgrading to this from a Samsung s6 edge, is this is decent upgrade? also, worried about this phone not having a face unlock recognition, how do you unlock the phone while its on your desk without picking it up?

  • Google Pixel series always following Apple iPhone's culture, no sdcard slot, no headphone jack and a small battery, I wonder why...

  • No way with this price. Only minor upgrades on Pixel 2. Okay everything is how it should be except battery and headphone jack. But I can buy LG G7 with half price and it has almost same specs. Also that back design is so ugly. People expect premium materials on their phones instead of rubber plastic. However if it was cheaper budget phone then plastic material would be acceptable.

  • If only it had reasonable Battery....around 3300 mah.... It could be the best Smartphone.... Even better than Xl ones containing Huge Ugly Notch

  • this one is looking better than XL

  • i complete agree you have nailed it. its expensive phone for what it is. more importantly nothing changed only a few bits here and there. just basically a pixel with number 3 on it.

  • to be honest dont see all the hype. it really looks like a pixel/2 supposed its meant to. minimal upgrade. only 4gb of ram LOL. bet it still goes for flagship price. like $600-700. same camera no 2018 dual or triple camera setup. so all in all, its a google pixel with with number 3 on it. Now im not slaggin it off. But i was a fanboy i would not be rushing out to but it. so have same looking phone as the year before and year before that. Shame on Google.

  • Why are they still using the inferior P-Oled screens? did they make a bulk order with LG or something? Why not the better sAMOLED screens? I wonder what other corners they cut when making the Pixel phones...

  • No notch in 2018 is a bold choice. I won't miss it. There is no excuse for the chin, however.

  • No wonder it costs so much! ;D

  • wow...such hate in the comment section. Wtf is wrong with you guys? Its a smartphone, thats all, a simple phone.

  • One of the greatest pathetic pixel device in history. On what basis did google think of going for e-sim (why copy Apple's techinque ) instead of physical SIM and how many service providers in India support the same. Since, this became like a single SIM android phone now, people would rather buy IOS phones if they need a single SIM device at such price range.

  • because you have to pick up your phone to unlock it, i hate that.

  • Ram jack battery sd slot storage space

  • Pre-ordered my 128gb pixel 3 in clearly white. Can't wait! Too bad it's gonna be another few weeks before it ships...

  • 855=8150 actually. (The next gen is 8150.) And max RAM is 8 GB so far. Nobody has yet to officially break that bar. And one TB? Grab a Note 9, Add 512 GB SD card, you got 1 TB. :P Don't exaggarate with your requests. ^^ learn the limits and request accordingly.

  • cRiNgE

  • WEll u have that on Poco F1 for 300$

  • Where is 480fps ?????

  • there is Fingerprint scanner why worry about no Face ID

  • p-oled ,gorilla glass,ip68,sd845,dust/water resistant,everything. actually what u expecting from a flagship phone

  • The better-looking Pixel and probably the best smaller smartphone of 2018. People are completely overlooking what Google did here. It's an all-glass rear but they made most of it a matte finish. I love this. I hope more OEMs copy it. I hate fingerprint magnets.

  • this will probably still be my next phone however: 4GB ram worries me... is it enough these days? no Face ID ?? Samsung and Apple have it now but Google still giving you the fingerprint only? buying an SD845 SoC when the 8150 is just around the corner sucks. $800 price tag. Im hoping Google's software is impressive enough to justify this phone.

  • You are very late in releasing mobile phones. SD 8150 is already ahead but still using 845 at the end of 2018? let's see how it sells. and there are still many other shortcomings like single camera. now pixel is iPhone

  • It's not the money bro, people are mostly complaining about how inferior the overall phone is (hardware/design/battery/storage wise) when you compare the Pixel to the competition like the S9/S9+ which comes with better hardware, a more mature and elegant design and a reasonable cost. The fact that buying a Pixel is like buying a Toyota Camry for the price of a Lamborghini doesn't help however.

  • I like the compact size. But for this price I'll rather go for S9. Pixel 3 doesn't have enough advantages to convince me to pay almost double for it.

  • lol... thats funny

  • Then get sony xz2 compact it has everything you want.

  • This is gonna be my upgrade from X compact, was gonna go with xz2 compact but I fall in love with this pixel 3. If only this phone had micro sd slot... but the 128gb ver should be enough for me.

  • I put my iPhone X in a drawer, and used a Pixel 2 instead. Excellent value. Excellent performance. Excellent phone. The Pixel 3 is a no-brainer.

  • 4GB Ram - No thanks!

  • You should buy a computer instead lol

  • Google Bezel XL .

  • Near perfect features; 5.5" 1080p Oled screen with no notch, front dual speakers, IP rated, wireless charging, increased battery size, stock Android software, possibly amazing cameras with no stupid dual lens for fake bokeh (only LG v40 has the most logical multiple camera setup). Only flaw is that doesn't have triple card slot (2 sim & dedicated microsd), that's pretty rare yet important especially for travellers & no headphone jack (although not a big deal for me personally) Pixel 3 is one of the best phones to come from Android in a long while.

  • Perfect size!!!

  • First... No notch, THANK GOD !!! Second... 600 euros max. Take it or leave it. S9 for 550 still looks like a great option. Who knows, maybe even S9+ will drop to 600 soon.

  • Geeezuuus... no SD-slot, 2900mAh, a single camera on the back, for EUR 860... These phones are certainly over-priced for what you get.

  • Why people are complaining about Pixel series, it was never suppose to be a budget phone. And people are comparing with Samsung, and again saying the software update problem with Samsung. It is one's choice, which one you want to go. Stop complaining, cause it will be seen as whining as Pixel series is not getting cheaper.

  • 860 Euros??? You must be kidding me. big G, I'll give you 500 Euros. Tops.

  • @ Zach: Define "even more compact". S9 is larger in all three dimensions. I would certainly consider going (back) to Samsung if they had better software update schedules though. They do have great hardware but their update schedules tend to lag way too much. (And no Bixby please.)

  • TBH we should boycott Pixel phones until the Price gets to Nexus levels, at this point the S9 is cheaper, has better hardware, looks better and is even more compact. Only downside is the updates, which might be for the best as the Pixel is a Test Bed for "BETA" software.

  • So true xD

  • Cpu and camera upgrade only... I stick to my s8. Throw enough money last year. Probably my last phone s8 - i love you.

  • same phone as last year, don't look any different, don't see all the hype. There doing an Apple same phone each year just slight update. like a different number on it.

  • just plain dissapointed. 845 processor should be 855 4 GB ram should be 16GB 128 GB storage should be 1TB under 3000mAh battery i won't buy this one

  • specs are very similar to a8 2018

  • Too big. Should have been 5" phone. Also, they didn't tell us the antenna strength or headphone output! The things that matter! Also, no expandable memory? 4GB RAM? MEH!

  • Is it a full fledged Dual sim by any chance ? Unlike the Pixel 2 series ?

  • Samsung s9 is only $620. If google objective is to have hardware to show case their software, the google play edition in the past is better strategy than spending money to create their own expensive hardware.

  • The notch is ugly... great feature phone though I recommend considering waiting for phones with next-gen Sapdragon SoC for 5G... Pixel 4 will be even greater IMHO

  • For anyone interested in a compact phone. This might be one of the better options you can consider. At least it's not as dreaded as the XL version.

  • Send one to Zack Nelson! :D

  • I seriously hope this one will have more storage options...

  • No FM radio + no jack 3.5 = buy another phone

  • Just missing a headphone jack, otherwise the perfect phone

  • Yeah I am in the same boat, I am also interested about the Google Pixel mini too.. I think if it has a similar chassis to the SE I will probably lean more towards that.

  • Can't wait to see this thing unveiled tomorrow. The non-XL hasn't been as leaked as the XL model. If it's up to scratch it will be definitely be my next phone, otherwise I'll get an iphone x.

  • Hope it has face ID too. I might just switch from iPhone SE to Google Pixel 3 if it is good enough

  • Everything is ok... 64gb, 128gb, one more need 256gb. I have an idea about camera.

  • Honestly, I've wanted a Pixel phone since it came out, but I couldn't bring myself to get the Pixel 2 XL, since I thought the Pixel 3 would be better, but I'm kinda disappointed with Google. First of all, Samsung has pushed 1444p on their phones and I expected Google to be able to cope with the competition. Second, the notch (I won't say more). Lastly, I recommend the Pixel 3 cause anything is better than the Pixel 3 XL.

  • dude, it takes fingerprint

  • Why a mint green power button on the white model? Why not red or orange? >_

  • No headphone jack, no sd card slot, no radio? seriously goolge

  • will this phone have Face ID?

  • It matters if you wanna watch a movie/videos(offline) and even to run high end games you gotta have a 1080p screen. For, online use people mostly prefer 720p to save battery and data (if they're using mobile networks.)

  • does 1080p even matter? i always resize my screen to 720p tho for better batt life

  • If is the real deal then it’s not as bad as the xl, it’s not good but it’s a decent design. Let’s hope they don’t have all those problems again

  • Four Colors: White, Black, Mint, and Pink. Possibly two more colors: Green and Blue.

  • Not happening without a headphone jack. The headphone cable is used as the antenna.

  • I see, so you wanted a wide and thick notch + fat chin design. That's a 2018 design.

  • Great design for 2011 (looks like very old samsung phones)

  • I guess Galaxy S9 (or S9+) are perfectly fine and cheaper [S9] with more features. Plus, Pixel 2/2XL same aswell (aside from design). Even the Pixel is good enough an option (if you mind bezels). 3 and 3XL are just nope! Waste of technology (no only money)!

  • Android version should be just "9". Google does not use .0 now

  • Not sure if you're trolling... functionality? let's not kid ourselves, we only want this phone with a now 8+ months old SOC due to the camera & timely software updates, also the 3XL is too ugly & everyone's been burned by AndroidOne's late S/W updates.

  • True this a much better effort than the 3XL but wouldn't you say at this price point it still pales in comparison to the (est. cost based on the Pixel 2 cost) cheaper S9 that has more features and a better design in the same one-hand friendly volume?

  • Why would you want more than that on such a small screen?

  • Seriously? 1080p from a premium phone in 2018? That's a straight no from me.

  • i dont care about ip ranting, microsd slot, headphone jack, in-display fingerprint or wireless charging. what i care is if only this phone has 3400/3600 mah battery, ir blaster, dual-sim slot, full metal back (not half glass or half metal and plastic mix which is useless), and the price at $650 for base model (6gb/64gb) i will buy it

  • um... so...functionality means nothing to you?... just ..the...looks..?? ugh...LOL

  • I despise the notch on the xl so I am glad this one doesn't have it. also I actually prefer this size much better anyway because it's easier to use for me. I don't think anyone needs that much ram unless you are like me and rarely upgrade and so I go a few years without getting a new phone. I plan on getting the phone for sure though as soon as it's possible. especially for updates..I used to be poor so I never have had a 'flagship' phone and never one that actually gets major updates. currently I have the moto g5 plus which is the best phone I have had so far. nothing wrong with it at all except for the fact that it took over a year to get a "promised" update that I still DO NOT have. so lenovo has certainly ruined motorola. I can NOT wait to have a pixel.. to have updates for once in my life. but updates should be like common sense. Any phone using stock android should get them without a ridiculous wait. I can understand samsung taking a while because they heavily customize their phones and have a ton of added features and apps and everything but nobody else has much of an excuse.

  • So you don't need more than 4GB of ram in android yet. Next!

  • Fall in love with this device..😍😍😍

  • Xl may not be a well thought design but the smaller version is classic. It is a great example of looks and useabilty . I thought it is perfect for one hand use with great camera and software.

  • so, this 6GB is confirmed? It is not going to be a measly 4GB?

  • Maybe it will actually have a decent battery? You know, instead of just in the XL variants. eh prolly not.

  • Yes.... It will be a good phone.

  • FM radio is not there in any of the pixel/ nexus mobile phones.. Infrared... seriously u r using it ? storage: even in iphone u cant expand the storage

  • Edit: Sorry for all the comments... I think GSMArena is right with 1080p

  • Addition: Probably 1440p not 1080p... (Should I submit edits somewhere else?)

  • It will probably just have 4gb of Ram and it'll very likely be announced on Oct 4th 2018. And selfie camera will be dual not single.

  • Pixel 3 is going to be great (based on the rumors and leaks), but Pixel 3 XL is ugly af, you messed up Google, I love my Pixel 2 XL because it's unique but I want to get a Premium device for that Premium Price-point, hell even OnePlus is building much better quality phones then Google for much less. I hope Google steps up their Hardware Game, then I'll buy the Pixel 4... Only excuse for me would be this:

  • I do

  • Oh for Crying out loud GOOGLE just get Samsung or Huawei to design your phones! Even though this design is miles ahead of the UGLY Pixel 3 XL it looks like a fake S7 Edge!!! Google is one of the most valuable and profitable companies in the world! Why Can't they hire any good designers especially at this price point??? Every year i get excited for a Pixel announcement and plan to buy a pixel and every year i get put off by the horrendous DESIGN!!!

  • Will Pixel 3 support wireless charging?

  • Who actually listens to 'radio' anymore??

  • No FM radio, No 3.5 jack, , No infrared, No micro SD Why should I buy this?

  • I was telling my girl that when it first came out cuz I have the first pixel and pixel 2 wasn't really an upgrade at all

  • But what do you need it for?

  • Please dear God have 6 GB of RAM!!!

  • No notch, 18:9, front firing speaker and not too big but no earphone jack its ok I have pixel buds if this look exactly like that im gonna upgrade from pixel 1 to this.

  • required dual sim options ...due to travelling to abroad frequently

  • At least FM radio please.... I need this function. Thank you.

  • Is that dual front facing speakers? Damn

  • They should made it lighter, made a magnesium case if necessary, at 143g is still heavy, ideal for me would be 120g or less.

  • Google still doesn't understand what a bezel-less phone is.

  • If Apple would replace their headphone jacks then Google would follow suit in a heartbeat. Samsung sells more models than Google. Why would they butcher their Pixel line? To copy apple. Google pixel won't sell anywhere near as many S models or Apple handsets anytime soon. Also, some reports claim that the Pixel 3 will have 4GB of ram. Others claim that it will have 6GB. I'd prefer 6GB, the ability to take screenshots in incognito mode, and a headphone jack. Godspeed everyone.

  • Might trade my iPhone X for this it it lives up to the hype.

  • Yes, this is what the regular Pixel 2 should've been. I hope they can fix the hardware issues this time.

  • My personal preference says curved screens big NO.

  • OMG this non XL model is so gorgeous that I kept on looking at it! XL looks ugly because of that deep notch. Hope they don't make the design ugly in this case too

  • Yep maybe you are right but back curved phones like S9 are actually to hold compared to if they are flat but it totally depends on your personal preference :) (same guy)

  • Sorry, No headphone jack will be deal breaker for me.

  • It will be very hard

  • The no headphone jack is a bad idea too, but at least the design is not bad this year. I wonder if there will be an all silver color or all white color.

  • Hope the specs are this good. SD 845+6GB RAM+64/128GB ROM and with a 3300 or higher battery capacity. The phone itself looks a lot more professional and pleasing compared to the Pixel 2 already and I really hope it's what we're going to get.

  • Good Design

  • Any chance we be getting this in panda color?

  • at least wireless charge please....

  • LOL!! If you had a SDCard I would totally take you home...

  • Seriously it's the first time i love a Pixel design. This phone is so gorgeous especially in white but i really don't like the XL design with that fat hideous notch. If the price is good i may buy it to replace my iPhone 7 because pixel are the only phones who can compete with the iPhones in term of smoothness. Even if your are an Android fan you need to admit it.

  • Dual Edged display with 17:9 screen ratio.

  • the initial mock up was way better bezzels are just right

  • Looks disgusting..

  • You must be new here

  • I am ok with the thick top and bottom bezel, as long as they are "functional" - in this case they are there to accommodate the dual front facing speakers, but no headphone jack, come on Google.....

  • agreed, don't know why people think this is ugly

  • physical home button + fingerprint scanner would be perfect phone for me

  • At least put damn SD card slot in smaller version..

  • True, though you gotta pay to play. Also, it's kinda obvious that your GF has better curves than this phone, it's a phone compared to a woman, how the hell does the woman lose in this case?

  • Ok "compact" design, bezels could have been tiny bit smaller though. Meizu16 with 5.6" display is my next go to phone if its also 145mm or bellow. Other big brick phones suck.

  • Man my small hands can hold 6 inch phone onehanded and work with it with ease. And for slippery i mean curved screen not my hands. You know as i do you can hold tightly flat screen phone but the curved ones? Well its true some love the curved design some hate it but we both understand the curved screen apart from looking different brings much more cons than flat screen ha.

  • Not everyone has small, slippery hands like you that s/he will drop his/her phone. What's your point? Well you like flat screen and if you do then don't buy curved screen phone.

  • The only curves that are beautifull are curves of my GF. In case of Samsung phone flat screen is much MUCH more better. S8 when i saw for a first time i was wiomiting all the day it was ugliest phone of 2017 now the Pixel 3 XL wons this award. Wonder who had the idea to make the phone with curved screens but they are good for nothing. Sliperry, glass protector resistant exúpensive to make, expensive to repair and breaks even on tiny damage compared to flat screens with propper gorrila glass. Nothing else needs to be said.

  • Sony where are you?? Look Here Pixel design Front and back

  • Its would be more good with full bezelless

  • I would rather have the pixel 3 rather than the pixel 3 xl just because of the notch

  • This design is Awesome

  • I see we have a time traveller. How's 2006 going?

  • What's up with the color names these days? Can't they just be "Blue", "Black", "White" ... ?

  • That sounds much more reasonable than most other commenters demands

  • Wdym, S8 is a beautiful phone

  • 4000mAh + battery and I will buy. Below it.. just like porche with 5L gasoline tank.

  • Can't believe this device is from Google, they're good at making bad devices. Keep it up

  • Yeah, some of the new Nokia phones are actually really good mid-range choices. My fav is the Nokia 7 +, but the fact remains that it's too big for my taste.

  • if the same is coming, then frankly, I would say it's gonna be nothing more than boring

  • Google is trying so hard to make their pixel phones kind of like be the iPhone of Android. And I don't think that will ever pan out the way that they want because Android users are not as shallow. This particular model is a breath of fresh air in this world of phablets. Only issues as usual would be availability and pricing. But personally, I'd rather wait for the Xperia XZ3 compact first quarter next year with a newer SoC and a more stable version of P Android OS.

  • Because it is. Pixels were meant to compete against iPhones in the first place. If you want stock Android on a budget way, Nokia is there for you.

  • being compact is special

  • Lets see what this single cam can do. Im now interested at this battle of camera smartphone.

  • Battery capacity should be atleast 3200mah for base variant. 3700mah for higher variant. else not interested

  • I love how HTC had done with the Pixel 3. The front looks sleek. I don't care about the chin and forehead though and you guys should too.

  • i don't know what to say about this design and looks. or single cam on back. but guyz it's perfect like a gentleman. no notch bezels and chin should be more beautiful....

  • Phones are too big. Can't fit in your pants pocket. screens need to be less than 5" with minimal bezels.

  • Front Design looks like Samsung Galaxy S6/S7 Edge.

  • 2400fps ???????

  • It looks like ugly scamsung S8 with so called infinity display. So ugly design nothing speciala bout the phone just a super high price like usualy google pixel way.

  • I think it looks OK, at least no notch, and it has stereo speakers.

  • what, no notch? Google must be crazy

  • Nothing special here, just another android phone

  • I feel that Google-branded phones are a bit like Apple-branded phones. They ask $800 for a $400 phone - $400 for the hardware and another $400 for the Google or Apple icon on the back. I'll take Nokia or Huawei over that daylight robbery any day.

  • That is one ugly phone...
