  • it is one of the best phones that came during its time. except for the battery i have no issues. i accidentally broke my screen and am wondering, how do i get a replacement in kenya

  • i have it second-hand, using for ~1.5 year. The phone for its features is very good, using skype ,office, ebook reader, opera- it is ok. it fits the necessities of a business PPC.stays in hand well and i like it much. As for the minuses-battery drains in a day/day and a half - depends on the talk time. GPS- connects slowly (it is available for Ukraine,Moldova, Austria- donot now why). The volume of the buzzer(=ring) is not so as wished(quiet).

  • I am in Uganda and I have so far used two of these phones, they are very durable, relaible but the battry takes away the groove. To overcome the dying battery problem I bought a charge cradle but didn't help much.

  • This phones got pc features..i love but the battery is its badside...making it a little boring nd sometimes useless

  • My problem with 914c is that 3G and GPRS is spending my money from my account (5E just this night) and 15E few days ago. The thing is that in settings for data session don't allows me to disconnect automatic connection. In fact,I'm not apsolutelly shure what's wrong but is spending money from acount as soon I put some credit on my card. Other than this, phone is slow, batery very poor and I have it only because is gift. Is there some simple link for win6.5 downloading and installation on phone?

  • Hey you are right. I have one in India and I have not used it for the past yaer or so. The battery never charges. I bought a chinese battery and it lasted for about a month. It now takes about 24 hrs to half charge it. The phoes good but no support.Pity.

  • battery terrible

  • I am trying to send sms messages with my Hp but cant what option must I used to get to this function.

  • I brought HP 910C it is working ok but dicharging battery very fast if i use web browing with in 30 minuts it is discharging and if i select only phone use eventhough 4hours only. I have taken some precautions to increes battery talk time also the problem is the same please help in this regard.

  • Go here for full disclosure... Seems the 914c is quite a bit of kit...

  • I've been tech support with HP and had the misfortune to be assigned to support ipaq's. The only resolution advised for all issues was a hard reset (press a certain key combo to start OS format and reinstall). If that does not work, book for repair. Sorry guys. Ipaq's were regarded a the lost stepchild of Compaq's merger with HP. They were the Republic and we the Sith. Any other comments are best left unsaid.

  • I have had the mobile (914c hp ipaq) for less than a year now, and some of the keys on the keyboard stopped working. I went to replace the mobile as it was still under warranty, and was replaced by another DEFECTIVE 914c which I was told that it was new. Really disappointed by this hp product.

  • Does anyone hear for HP iPAQ 914c? I was looking for it, but 914 is not on this site. Is it Ok?

  • Does anyone hear for HP iPAQ 914c? I was looking for it, but 914 is not on this site. Is it Ok?

  • It has no long life of the battery and the sound is really low, which removes all the desires and the beauty of it!

  • how much is the external memory

  • I have used iPAQ 910c for over a year now. I think I can safely call it a toy... A really "cheap" low quality TOY. First the keys around the edges (Q,A, Fn,Shift,.,Return key,Backspace key, and P) stopped responding. You necessarily have to use the Styllus if you need to make an input. Battery duration is poor, as everyone knows by now. But charging it now takes forever... almost a full 8-hr day to get up to 80-90% via the USB. Charging direct via AC adapter probably takes longer! CRAP!!!

  • The Iphone is a great toy. My wife has one. But it really lacks features when you need it for business. It doesn't even come standard with MS Office. It doesn't have a user friendly keyboard for people with big fingers (like me, I hate touch screens and with Iphone you can't get a Bluetooth keyboard and you can't even use a stylus or your finger nail with it) and it took me a long time to upload anything besides music, podcast, videos and pictures that really distract you from work. I tried to put some PDF files on her phone and it's really cumbersome. It doesn't even have a root directory or a program like the explorer. The 3G didn't even support AD2P to listen music with bluetooth stereo headphones and even the 3GS doesn't support all the bluetooth protocols. I wanted to send my wife a business card via Bluetooth from a dinky little Nokia phone and it wouldn't even accept that. Like I said if you want to play and have no clue how to really use a computer get an IPhone!! It's simple and even you grandma can figure it out. Great tool/toy for those kind of people. However if you need something for business and like to have some flexiblity because you are a little technically inclined and know what else is possible get a pocket PC. I can't even start to tell you how easy it is to use the Iphone and how frustrated I get when I run into its limits all the time. It's definitely like a model T (one size fits all, like Ford's great words you can have a car any color as long as it is black)

  • Yes it can. You just install metatrader and it is ready for trading.

  • Maybe it happens because you have set your phone to gprs. Try changing it to gsm only. It happened to me too and i changed it to gsm only and now it works just fine.

  • Hi! I need help with this Ipaq! every 4 min when Im talking it just cancels all calls. every 4 min when Im talking it just done the calls. What do I need to do?? and what is HAC and TTY?

  • i had the hp ipaq 194c business messenger pros: -cost me 130 , very cheap for a lot of fetures cons: -its sa slow mobile -after you push the end call buton it takes 2-3 seconds to end up the conversation -not good at all for listening to the music So , if you whant a cheap business phone , to check your emails ,etc its good, but dont pay for it more than 130 - 150

  • how can you compare it with the iphone :)))))) omg , why can you be a litle more objective people

  • I have loaded up ArcPAD and OziExplore and both work very well with the internal GPS the downside is that the 910c needs a clear visibility of the sky to pick up the satellites. Does anyone know if a Garmin external antenna will work with these phones ?

  • The Iphone sucks, it doesnt have all the features of these phones, remember the firs iphone??? DOESNT HAVE VIDEOCAMERA, You must install it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats say all JAJA

  • I have bought an 910c on august 2008. Today I am happy to throw this low quality phone to the garbage. Reason : Keyboard does not work properly. The phone is slow when the memory has some pictures stored. It takes an eternity to boot up. Windows mobile is not an OS for such a small screen. If you synch your email every 15 min the battery last 1 day (if you are lucky). I am jumping to a BB Storm 2. That is a High end product. Shame on HP.

  • you mean to say IPHONE is a toy? you are comparing iphone to HP? i like HP devices but if you'll compare it to iphone... check it for yourself, before you will reply to this message...

  • fine then, if you've tried all of it and the light is still flashing it probably means the device is faulty. no reason why the shop (or hp) wouldn't replace the unit. as far as the other comment: "great on paper crap in real life". "crap" how ? what happened ? i really don't understand people writing this type of nonsense. if YOU're loading up the device with pirated software or any other "crap" little youtube-type application which is not officially supported, go figure. buy yourself a toy like iphone or other thc "bling". Ipaq is a professional device and as such, its near perfection. 90% of faults in devices like this one are caused by lack of knowledge of their users.

  • Everything you have mentioned..... I have done already.

  • Replaced battery twice. Already replaced device once. Now it's off to the shop again.Problems charging.Great on the paper, crap in real life. If HP invested 10-15% more effort in hardware/software side of this device, it would be probably the best Win PDA on the market.

  • do you people read manuals ? if you dont have the manual - did you went to Hp official website to d/l the manual ? its all there ! lets agree youre too lazy to do the above. pulsating green light means youre in "ok coverage" area constant green light means the power is still supplied, and u should try to switch it off/on -> (if doesnt help) soft reset -> (if doesnt help) hard reset. read the manual first.

  • Green LED constantly flashes. How to get rid of it?

  • FYI, me using the adapter to charge and it only hit 85%, however when I use USB cable charge via PC and it seems working fine.

  • Hi, check your system settings/power tab. theres an option for "fast charge" which is supposed to charge it fully in around 2 hours. it might depend on software you have as well - if youre on bluetooth constantly, if youre hooked up to si-fi all the time, and if you have plenty of things in background - the battery will go down fast. remember - after u stop using the device dont forget to go to task manager to stop the software - usually when you tap "x" or "ok" these go into background rather than being closed. this drains the battery as well. ive tried not to use the device for the most of the day once - after 8-10 hours battery went don only by 10%. so yes, it depends on the user / configuration.

  • how long it takes to get 100% fully charge? I tried 8 hrs charging but only 80%, is it OS or hardware issue?

  • got it a week ago. its a proffesional device, thus every youngster trying to get his hands on supa-flashy "bling" type idiotic touch-toys wont be happy. if you're looking for a good device that can sync with your outlook, if you message/browse web a lot, and you prefer elegant look and traditional qwerty (for ease of use) - this is for you. YES, the battery is going down fast, but its a PDA and u expect that considering all the thing this machine does. how to get along with it ? simple routine. charge it every day, simple as that really. nothing's perfect, right ? stylus is tough, it actually doesn't have to expand that much to use it. its a device designed for u to use stylus !!! if you want touchy-touchy toys - its not for you. so far i haven't got a issue with ring loudness, works fine so far. can be snatched for round 200 euro if in Europe, got myself one for 170 euro. overall, beautifully crafted serious machine for ppl in need of serious PDA rather than a fancy toy. worth considering - leather pouhces / cases would have a magnetic span closure most of the time. magnetic snap can drain battery a little - consider this before buying ipaq. after all, these are rather to be used with a case.

  • I just got this phone a few days ago, and this green lights just keep on blinking; it does not stop. It is really irritating me. What is it? And is there a way to shut off the green blinking light? Thanks!

  • Dear Koray, The difference is only with the Region. Phone Specs is same. There is a different Phone for every region. Regards, Haroon

  • can this phone be used to fx trading.

  • What are the differences between 910, 912 and 914?

  • I have this device, and must say it is a great phone. I found the battery life to be a little poor, but then again its a PDA and not a Nokia 6310. But is suffician to last me all day, with many calls, web browsing, GPS Navigation and Exchange. It does everything well, navigation is easy and the signal strength is the best I have seen on a phone for a long time. Simply put, it blows all Dingle-Berry phones out of the water. My only real issue is the usb charger input on the side instead of the bottom.

  • This is major problem with this mobile device. But authorized service can replace battery with new (if u have warranty). Second choice is replace mobile device with new, maybe there is a problem with processor.

  • This is the worst pda phone I can say. I have this phone for over a month. The battery life is terribly short. I have to charge it twice a day. Even I fully charge it at night, next day there is only 60% left. From the product specification the battey life is not true at all. Not sure what HP is doing to produce this rubbish phone.

  • actually hp 910c is good smart phone. there is opportunity to have a business on my hand by this hp. quite easily to used and simply. love with touchscreen.

  • good!!

  • You can make upgrade to WM6.5. Its not official, but start read this:

  • Dear all, Who do you know about new HP K3 Obsidian? features & capability. Thx.

Anyway I give you all recommendation application that usefull for owner HP iPaq (pocket pc or windows mobile). 4 chatting, use : Palringo (can use until 9 chat all together). 4 video & music player, use : Core Player. 4 search engine : Opera mobile. Cheers.

  • i have that version wm 6.5 and if you r intresting i can upload the rom to (4share free.com). mail me [email protected].

  • Hey, can you please help how to get upgrade to Windows 6.5 ??

  • Perfect phone for business man or just a normal user. Full qwerty keypad is really using to me. once u get use to the keypad u found u are typing like a god (: a lot say the batt life suck and stuff. i personally think it alright. for hardcore usage , it still can let me use for ard 2 days. if normal usage 3 to 4 days. i upgraded to window mobile 6.5 and it run faster, smoother, look nicer and totally rocks! maybe save battery life too? (: This phone have hell lots of input which i found it very convenience. The connectivity is well done! WIFI , HSDPA is fast and good. Design is nice too , rubber finish at the back give u a firm grip and the glossy finish in front give u a sophisticated look. nice thumb up for a HP 912c (:

  • Dear Aelon, my usage is usually 40-50mins out going / incoming calls daily. but as i m using push mail feature, i am connected to GPRS all the times that sure consumes battery too much. moreover, widgets like facebook, live messenger & applications like SPB SHELL & usually 30mins usage of GARMIN MOBILE XT is also there. I need to recharge after almost 24Hrs with all above applications. Hope you must have tried it by now & sure be liking it. Thanks. Haroon.

  • i am expecting my ipaq this thursday, but i got a question for you. when you said the battery will sustain for 24 hours under standard use, how do you define standard use? how often do you make calls? how frequent did you use the phone? what applications are running during this time?

  • @ Gothoc: By default, Windows Media Player Mobile 10 can play files compressed by the following audio codecs: Microsoft Windows Media Audio codec versions 1.0, 2.0, 7, 8, and 9. The following variants of the Windows Media Audio 9 codec are only partially supported: Windows Media Audio 9 Professional codec Windows Media Audio 9 Lossless codec MP3 By default, Windows Media Player Mobile 10 can play files compressed by the following video codecs: Microsoft Windows Media Video codec versions 7, 8, and 9 Microsoft Windows Media Video 9 Image codec versions 1.0 (used by Microsoft Photo Story 1 and 2) and 2.0 (used by Photo Story 3) Microsoft MPEG-4 codec version 2.0 and 3.0 ISO MPEG-4 video codec version 1.0 So if you are trying to play any other file type like FLV or RM, it will not play it. I would recommend you to SYNC media files with Mobile set & your PC using ACTIVESYNC software. please go to the following website for more details: Bye.

  • Hi ipaq 910c users, I transferred songs from my Pc using activesync but they won't play.Gives the message"there is no application associated with ...(fill song name)".I'm a 1st time WinMo user so all help is welcome. Thanks.

  • the screen is too small for me. i got used to the iphone's large display. but the specs on this phone is really good. not the type of phone for me, but this is a good alternative for blackberries.

  • Hi All, I have Been using HP IPAQ 912c since last month & I must admit it is a phone with almost all features. All you need is a high bandwidth like 3G & it will serve you in every aspect. It is to be noted that HP has released this phone under HP IPAQ 900 Series with 3 different models. 910c, 912c & 914c. Every model is same in Hardware & OS but with different ROMPAQs for different regions (to support different service providers). Mine is 912c with Asia-Pacific Region. I have read many of you complaining about GPS issue. Do note that this set comes with A-GPS(assisted GPS), it means that your Handset will take its "positioning coordinates" with your nearest BTS tower which is providing you GSM Service. Now for this purpose, you have to make sure that your GSM Provider is providing this A-GPS Service. Simaltenaously using any software like GARMIN etc..without GPS will unable to serve you. Other solution is to get an external GPS like "NavGear KeyMate MK-51 Bluetooth GPS Receiver" or "TomTom Wireless GPS receiver" etc. For those of you which are complaining about "bad user interface" is probably they are not a user of Windows Mobile phone. Guys its WM6.1 latest of all. BTW, I am eagerly waiting for newly announced WM6.5 OS by Microsoft. Well, for user interface I would suggest to use SPB SHELL 3.0 and download trial version & then buy it if you like. I really like it myself. Now Battery (1940mAH): overall it will give you around 24Hours battery life with a standard use, which is very good for such types of battery killing handsets. However, if you feel like it is less then your requirement, you can get HP iPAQ Extended 3800 mAh Battery, it will cost you nearly around US$80/90. Apart from it, using Battery Saving Techniques will be beneficial as well. For nice Add ons & Accessories for your handset you can visit Overall, I am very much satisfied with this handset, although it is more heavier then the older versions but its still quite unique. I would rate it 9.7 out of 10. If you have anything specific to ask, mail me [email protected] , I'll be glad to help you out.

  • Hi Coco, i'm not installed, a man on the store (like technician), he was install it the application on my Hp. I just use it till now.

  • Hi Coco, i'm not installed, a man on the store (like technician), he was install it the application on my Hp. I just use it till now.

  • i tried installing the disk and nothing works cant get the ipaq to sync with my laptop

  • Joe. I tryed to use Garmin XT in my i910 but it cant find the internal GPS. Can you tell me how did you configure your iPaq?

  • After the last update, I'm completely satisfied with this phone and not going to change it at least 1-2 years. The standard battery is great, works up to 24hrs with heavy usage (HSDPA/GPS/mp3 playback). In addition I recommend getting extended battery which's on 2/3 larger than a standard.

  • You can go to the gadget store for PDA. Mostly they sale PDA application like Garmin for mobile, etc & you can buy it for the first time.

  • You can go to the gadget store for PDA. Mostly they sale PDA application like Garmin for mobile, etc & you can buy it for the first time.

  • How do you get the Garmin GPS application for the iPAQ? Does it have a monthly fee? I would LOVE to know about this as I will have the phone in about a day or 2, and I was planning to go buy a tom tom or Garmin. Can anyone offer up some insight?

  • This product very usefull, i can use Facebook & Yahoo messenger without any problem (very easy) & the other side i can watch music video [metal bands] from famous bands, like Testament, Dragonforce & Ramstein in good pictures & good sounds. So all features could be acceptable in HP iPAQ 910c & no doubt to use this pocket pc. Think smart & be nice..

  • I got the newer one 914C. 2 weeks now and I am playing with it. I decided to use this as my primary phone and shift everything to it. 3g speed is 7.2M and my corporate emails and other applications working without trouble. As compared to other with WinM6.1, Cam3.1mpx,GPS-A 3G speed, this is the best. Cons: low speaker volume, Battery consumption and weight. This FW is 1.00.03, but heard that soon there will be 1.00.05 to fix some volume and keypad issues.

  • Hows the speeker phone, is it soft or can it be heard well??

  • Can someone tell me how to set English as the primary language on the phone?

  • Additional for my HP iPAQ910c that i had add Garmin GPS application for mobile and it's works. So when i travel along way road by car, i never think to lost due to the map route was clear and very helpfull. Anyway, why we have to doubt to use this mobile phone? think clear & be smart.

  • Last week I just bought this smartphone (HP Ipaq 910C). I'm impressed with capability of this smartphone with reasonable price. I can use email, yahoo massenger, play video & music in easily. The other I can edit office (ms office & excel)& use internet only with single hand. I believe HP is one of my powerfull smartphone that I can use it at anytime.

  • hi, i just bought my iPAQ 912 and i read your review in gsmarena. and i'm staying in Jakarta. Could you advise me pls where to find the software you mentioned to boost up the processor to 5xx Mhz? need your kind advice. thanks.

  • Anyone have actual experience with this model and how long the battery lasts? My Treo Pro with a 1500mAh battery and two non-native apps running (SPB Shell, IM+) last 3/4 of a day with about 10 5 minute calls, and push email! In other words, near useless. If I have to opt for te 2500mAh battery, I might as well look at another PDA-Phone like this iPaq 910c. Thanks.

  • You can use the push email function on Windows Mobile. It is the same. Guys, please.. the push email technology it's not new, it is old technology for me, you can directly received an email just like text message. The good thing about WM is there's a lot third party software out there. Blackberry..?? I don't think so :)

  • I had this phone a few weeks ago, and it's great. I wonder about the others opinion that said not user friendly OS..?? dude, it WM 6.1 .. lol. I never have problem with the wi-fi, GPRS, 3G even HSDPA. The GPS position..?? it works fine with me. I am using about 2 weeks and I never found anything trouble with this gadget. Overall, this is what I need right now. FYI, I bought this on Asia, I dunno about the others region that keep telling trouble, for me, this PDA is awesome..!!!

  • After positive experience with 6515 and 6955, I was waiting for an iPAQ that runs Windows Mobile 6.1. I purchased my 910c today and must admit so far Im disappointed. Keyboard looks and feels cheap, its difficult to type. I couldnt update GPS position. After disconnecting PDA from my computer, I couldnt start WiFi. I had to reset unit to start WiFi. HP was very late with this product and finally, they released something that doesnt look finished at all.

  • I currently owned the phone and feel very upset with the phone features and functionality. I had to restart or reset the phone each time while the machine stop functioning. I also feel very regret on the non user friendly operating system and instability of software. HP should take more consideration on these features since they are in IT innovation leader range. Somehow, the only selling point for me is the outlook design of the phone. Thanks

  • they are both the same but HP use different names for different locatoins. 910c for N. America and 914c for EU.

  • i've been using iPAQ 912c for a week.. and the battery performance is GREAT. i find a quicksheet released by HP that says the talk time is stand for 7.5 hours and 250 hours for stand by. yesterday i tried to browse using wifi for 3 hours, gprs is connected all the time, the backlight setting is 50%, did a bit registry tweaking for battery performance, did a bit calling and texting, and right before midnight i still had 15% battery power... nice.. and the charged till full battery takes approximately 2 hours

  • does someone try/have blackberry aplication for ipaq 914C? Is it posible or not? help

  • I just ordered the HP iPAQ 910c, but while I was doing my research, I came across different photos of what is the same phone. Or is one the 914? What is the difference between the 910 and the 914? Which one is which?

  • well, i've been using PDAs since a while, i started with Treo 180 > Treo 600 > iPAQ 6500, the way i see it, i'm using PDA until it broke, or not have capabilities to handle my growing needs. in this case, iPAQ 6515 is out of date for me.. i've been using 6500 since 2006. i'm haven't migrating to 69xx series because when 6900 was launched, i really don't need a faster processor and a wifi. but when HP says want to launch a new iPAQ (900&600), i'm so ready to buy one of em' when it hit the market. so i did bought the 600 series, meanwhile my sister bought the 900 series. and i compared both of them. here are my thoughts : 600 Pros - Bigger Screen (no doubt) - Touch Smart (loves the idea!) it really works - Stronger Processor but weaker Battery (i'm Confused) - no prob at all pair with bluetooth stereo (remembering there's no 3.5m Jack, bluetooth stereo with interchangeable earphone is a nice alternative) nor bluetooth headset - hey they included good quality Screen Protector inside the box Cons - only dependable with virtual qwerty keyboard (it's fatal for me whose used with qwerty keyboard since treo 600 or 4-5 years ago) - why can't HP included more accessories like they did before? what do you get when you bought iPAQ 6900? alot of accessories! - in Jakarta it's kinda difficult finding accessories for the iPAQ. - i'm frankly didn't feel comfortable with the size, i think it was to thick not wide enough to accommodate my big hands - i have to upgrade my WM6 into WM6.1 by my self, there's no upgrade from HP 900 Pros - Loved the design (it's Cool and i think it's still cool until 2010) - just like the qwerty keyboard, i think better than my 6500 series - the size is just perfect, not to thin, not to thick, not to wide, it's just perfect fit inside my palm. and it's just sit perfectly inside my jeans pocket. - i think the Screen is not a big deal for me, it's bright and crisp enough. - multiple navigation buttons? ROCKSS!! one handed-two handed-left handed-right handed is no problem with this device. - it's already WM6.1 and i think it WM6.5 capable (why not?) Cons : - weaker processor (but i have the solution -xcpus****r will sprite up the processor to 524mhz) - why i cant rotate the screen orientation? some program not fully supporting landscape - Bigger Battery - longer battery life - longer charging time (another spare battery with battery charger is a must have) - those silly usb door, not smart i think.. and the usb position is not ideal for me - no screen protector included - no pouch included - no cradle included how can i find those in JAKARTA? so, i just sold my 600 series and bought 900 series, which more suitable for my daily tasks. i travel twice a week, taking notes in my class, sometimes recording lectures, watching movies on the road, chat a lot, always listening to music all the time, sometime work on my paper on the go, using dictionary, video call is not important for me, sometimes using skype, HSDPA is way faster than my imagination after migrating from GPRS hehe, update journal on excel everyday, capturing picture and recording video everywhere everytime, using a desktop instead a laptop. here's my question : - can it run with microSDHC16gb? have anyone try it? - how can i rotate the screen orientation without reboot? - can i extend the warranty and purchased the accidental protect plan? thx

  • If you want a phone that you have to soft reset everytime after using your bluetooth headset for a phone call because it turns off all or most of the notification alert sounds eg. incoming text, ringtone, etc. If you want a phone that has live keys even when it's locked which makes it sensitive to being carried in a holster on your belt and when you go to use it you find 5 applications open and the phone, wifi, and bluetooth all turned off sometimes. This product is a pure POS and a disgrace to Hewlett-Packard's renowned reputation for quality and was rushed to market way before it was ready.

  • Bluetooth is not sensitive I have been trying to catch my phone it took so many minutes to respond

  • This phone videocall support?? How about sound quality??

  • hello...i would like someone to help me...i have some questions about this product im interested in. is there any problem whith the battery life?? how many times do you charge it in a week..?? is it very big to carry in the jeans pocket?

  • Hi guys. I am planning to buy this product.I am just worried about GPS connectivity and type of gps reciever in this product. thank you

  • Hello, does this phone have a pocket IE? or is it seem just as the regular one in the computer?

  • yes this phone has that option. basically all ur messages are displayed as a chat window just like on msn etc..

  • Chat feature is in Windows Mobile 6.1

  • you know how palm has the "chat" feature for text messages? wherein all messages to and from a certain person can appear as chat? would anyone know if this phone can do that too?

  • Hi, you know how palm phones have the a "chat" feature in their messaging, wherein, messages will appear in chat format, can anyone tell me if this HP can do that too?

  • Could you lay out details on how to use Ipaq 910c as a stand alone GPS? Thanks. It kept saying error for me. It requires a data connection, etc.

  • ATTENTION ALL Ipaq 910c 910 914 916 users Call HP support at 1800HPINVEN or 8004746836 at the promptsay Technical Support, then say handheld, then say IPAQ, then say YES, say yes for repair and they will transfer you to a tech support rep. Give them your serial number and ask them to open up a case for the bad audio quality, bluetooth issues and short battery life. HP needs to put out a ROM update to fix all these issues but they are holding it back because of the WM 6.5 pending release which could take 6 months. If enough of us demand the fixes to these issues, they will release the rom update. Call and demand a case number/ticket for your issues. If they say that they will replace the phone tell them that is not a solution. The most important thing is to get a ticket number for your case. We need about 100 people to call in and they will release the updates in a couple of days. Thanks for helping.

  • THE HTC adapter does not work with the HP 910c. HTC uses a non standard plug with a flat side on the usb connection. None of the HTC aftermarket miniusb headsets or adapters will work with the HP standared miniusb adapter.

  • Nice phone

  • There is an adapter to let you do things like the charge the phone while connecting either the original HP headset or a standard 3.5mm headset. Google for: HTC 3 in 1 USB Adapter

  • I loved my iPAQ HW6940 and expected the 910C to have: [1] better performance due to more RAM - Yes [2] better UI and useability due to WM 6.1 - Yes [3] ability to run more applications because of more standard QVGA screen size - Yes And now for the shortcomings: [4] higher resolution plus smaller screen size makes the screen fonts and virtual keyboard almost too small to read [5] the A-GPS program (HP GPS QK Connect) worked fine in the HW6940 but the iPAQ 910C version gives incorrect messages and more importantly the GPS significantly longer before it "finds" the satellites [6] the iPAQ 910C has a single micro-USB port used for charging, pc-sync, and wired headset. you cannot charge the phone (lets say in a car) and simultaneously use a wired headset without buying an additional adapter. i have not seen any alternate sources for wired headsets with a compatible micro-USB plug. [7] the pc-sync cable is supposed to charge the phone, but the charge rate is less than the current drain if the phone is running applications with the wifi and gps radios turned on. imagine my surprise when my phone battery died when I though it was charging. [8] speakerphone volume is low and is on the back of the phone. microphone is located where you would expect the speaker to be. [9] SKYPE must be run without the Echo Suppression feature otherwise it will not pickup any audio from the microphone [10] the camera software is very slow I think that HP did a good job of customizing and integrating software for the 910C. For example the voice reply to email is a nice feature for the mobile user. The phone has an elegant business look. The recessed small screen makes the phone look dated. The buttons for windows-start and windows-OK together with the four-way navigation pad make it possible to do many tasks, like reading email and browsing web pages, using only one hand. On the other hand, the rotary thumbdial and adjacent side OK button have not proved useful. I wish I could get my old HW6940 back and wait until the new HP iPAQ Data Messenger is available. I would prefer to have a larger screen and a slide-out 5-row keyboard.

  • The biggest issue is the lack of 2.5mm audio port. The only headphone for this is the HP usb headphone in the box. Nobody makes an aftermarket headphone or even a miniusb to 2.5mm adapter. if you know of one email me please arikinthecity @ gmail

  • yes it has a stylus.

  • this is a very good phone, and HP doesn't make crap. Its only problem is low video recording resolution, it should be at least its display's size (qvga). But I'm waiting for a linuxmobile by HP, as Red hat is in the hands of HP, and that's the most stable OS ever made

  • for the users of this phone, how would you rate this phone in terms of speed and perfomance? thank you. i'm thinking to get this phone and let my HTC TyTn retire

  • Thank you guys.. i like the mobile shell menu. =)

  • spb mobile shell works 100%. but for what? u have a keyboard :)

  • yes, as all of the widows mobile devices can use 3rd party apps. This phone's greatest feature is the huge battery. Doubleas the touch diamonds 900mah one, and thediamond runs 4 times more pixels. My iPAQ 514 bears a week as a smatphone.

  • Can this phone be used with a thirdparty software, such as, spb pocket plus, mobile shell and resco photo viewer? thank you

  • !!! Need rogers.cab !!! WM6 3.5G UMTS capable I know iPAQ come with this file under \windows\rogers.cab Please help Regards Andre please send the cab file to [email protected]

  • wow !!! hope the quality is up to standard.

  • Without front / 2ndary camera for video call? why ooooooo why?

  • yup!!!!! this phones wats up. the ony thing i'm not feelin is the duration of the battery b!

  • Yes it works as a stand alone gps unit. I've used it without sim card with garmin mobile xt and it works great!

  • Yes.. the speakerphone is available on ipaq 910

  • Speakerphone function is avilable in HP iPAQ 910c ? If anyone can suggest. Thanks.

  • I saw another model in malaysia which HP iPAQ 912. It looks the same to me? Can someone tell whether both are the same model??

  • 6.0 vs 6.1 is like windows xp vs windows vista

  • Does it work (A-GPS) even if you do not have the connection? (let's say - is it acting like "normal" GPS then?)

  • I just got this phone yesterday. The text messaging is awesome. I love the gps. Only thing about it that I dont like so far is the lack of video playback in windows media player. It does not work with Amazon videos, YouTube videos, or any flash based videos at all.

  • Well, a-gps is assisted gps while gps is the normal one. Basically, A-GPS helps you find satellites faster and it's easier but you'll need a connection for that. Like 3G or GPRS.

  • What is the difference between a-gps and gps???

  • I like the phone but it took me about a week to get used to the smaller screen. It runs a bit slower than I would prefer, and I feel it lost some of the fundtionality of the 6900 series. Retrieving photos from MMS is a long and drawn out process. Searching through old text messages is a pain in the a$$ due to the texting format. The piano black keyboard gets a little slippery. It doesn't come with a clutch holster, which I found odd.I dont think it needs the thumb wheel AND the navigation pad. The windows media player is not very user friendly, it drops your playlist everytime the phone turns off. The speaker phone function is a little weak, can hardly hear it. I love the WiFi, it's the sh!t. GPS is cool. Camera is way better than the 6900. A lot of my angst comes from having the 6915 for so long and expecting the 910 to be an upgrade to it, when in fact, I feel that it is more of a lateral move. It looks beeter and is smaller, but it doesn't really perform all that much better. I would have loved if they would have kept the screen size, and also the dual SD card slots, but made the whole thing smaller. All in all, I do like the phone. Scale of 1-10, I'd give it a 7.

  • Lots of bugs!

  • Hmm can not wait to own this fone, i am one the HP fan, and now even i am attached with the Kaiser, but for sure I will take it with me

  • Listen up! ... This is the best freakin phone out right now if you like touchscreen, tri-band 3G, global GSM, GPS, build quality, simplicity, nice design, Windows Pro, and QWERTY! And it's unlocked to use anywhere in the world. People are complaining of low speaker volume... puhleeeeease!

  • This is a WM 6.1 not 6.0 right? what is the advantege/s of 6.0 vs 6.1

  • I really think it's a shame for HP to be in the phone market. Better focus its strategy in anything else where they decide to be competitive..!!!

  • yes it does

  • does the iPAQ 910c come with a stylus? just wondering. looks like a nice phone

  • It looks a bit like the Blackberry 8800, but it looks cool though. Its the best looking iPAQ so far .

  • in normal gsm phone use, what is the battery life duration ?

  • I use this unit more then one month. All is O.K., and GPS is very well. Only in first moment it is little bit slow, but after, when unit find satellite, GPS is extremly accurate.

  • so far what I have been hearing is the: 1) battery life 2) speaker volume 3) vibrate ...are weak. Everything else seems pretty good. Is that a fair comment? Can anyone who owns this comment on unassisted GPS sensitivity? Must be unassisted. Thanks.

  • This is the only unit that I have see all the mobile data in put methods in one peace - QWERT keyboard - 05 way navigator and select key combination - Touch screen with stylus - Trackball Navigator (wheel & select key) I didnt see any function less in this device. Some have complained that this is bulky. Well, the size 113 x 64 x 16 mm with 146g is quite acceptable with the capacity of work that this small peace can do, isnt it?

  • i think its more classiba d linking phone.........

  • yeah and it's $900 without 3G has the worse keypad I've ever touched among many other things.

  • No touchscreen on those. 910 has touchscreen+wheel+qwerty+hdspa+gps+wifi+better battery

  • The photo is actually outdated, unless they pan on bringing out a different version of this phone. The newer version looks a little more grwon up and it resembles the Blackberry Curve. Its a shiney Piano Black instead of the matte rubberized finish shown here. It also appears to have a center thumb wheel like the curve.

  • I am in the same situation. I currently own the HP HW6515, I love this phone but I've had it for years now and It's time to upgrade. The 910C seems to be the upgrade since the only upgrade to the 6515 is WiFi... size is the same and they dropped one of the SD slots. I hope I don't miss the larger screen too much.

  • So much talk about this device. There is a device Fujitsu-Siemens T830 on the market for 2 years now, that is half the price and does everything the IPAQ 910 does.Ok the 3G is slower, so what? But its a proven, stable device without the problems of new bugggy devices.

  • Guys the SE P1i is still a very nice phone. The only think I could admire on this HP phone is the proccesor, but the SE P1i isn't slow, I think is a nice option for the guy who has 6000 contacts.

  • Nice, very nice phone.

  • I just got confirmation from HP Sales that it will be released on June 30th, 2008.

  • i was able to talk to a support staff from HP and the staff said that the reason why they could not release the phone is that HP is having connection problems with the unit's 3G.

  • When is this really coming out? I am afraid its features may be outdated already when it comes out. It's been too long.

  • Initially I have been very keen in owning a HP 900 (the no-camera version of 910). I reckon that business users do not need camera anyways. Just to let you noe, I watch one of the videos when the HP 910 was announced and one of the staff said that it was going to be on the market 90 days after announcement. The announcement was on Sep 07. Well done HP. that's only 5 months overdue. For those of you interested in this mobile, may i suggest samsung i780? much better in spec. the only disadv are prob hsdpa 3.6 instead of 7.2 and less talk time. happy decision-making. bztp

  • I also wait patiently for the Ipaq 900 series. However, the ASUS mentioned above is not for me :-). No HSPDA makes it far less interesting if you live in a country where turbo 3G is available (and I do). Lack of GPS does not help either.

  • after having owned two HW6515, this is exactly the phone i want and am still waiting very patiently for. i just wish this would be realesed AND t-mobile will finally roll out 3G here in the US! damn it HP, hurry up and release this damn phone...

  • the phone is great and the design is awsome

  • I am beginning to think HP is not going to release this phone at all. There is a very similar looking and spec phone from ASUS, if you really wish to get this phone, but don't mind the brand. or try this... Bottomline, HP screwed up big time on this phone with the release date and all...

  • th aim of having a pda is to replace a laptop 4 short periods of time. BUT with such a small screen its no good replace. such a small creen 4 a pda. viewing a site on this would be like crazy. typing a doc would be suicide and trying to read the small letters will cause you permanent eye damage

  • With 520 MHz speed. 1840 mah battery, with qwerty keys on the body, no sliding, no clasping, for a heavy telephone user like me( I handle 6000 tel numbers)I think hp 910c will be the best in the world of this kind. I m using blacberry, palm windows and symbian, imate, nokia e90,e61i, motorola Q9h, samsung 610, htc touch dual, not a single one is perfect. The specs of 910c looks it will satisfy me. I m waiting for the availibility.Dr. Arif.KSA

  • this phone has been promised for too long, i'm beginning to think it doesdn't exist - can anyone tell me if they can get one?

  • One thing that gets me glued to this phone is the color. It has got very beautiful specs. Hope it would be out soon with affordable price

  • Apart from the screen, the phone seems to have good features. Will HP expedite the process of launching such good products in the market???

  • The advanced PDA as it uses windows OS, which we get addicted vary easily. The worst hp technology No question, its a real waist of money. Once you use this hp product, you will never buy any other hp product. Worst in terms of technology, service, and response.

  • Hmm, very long time til now from the time of announcement ! I'm such a fan of HP ipaq, but HP let their fans waiting so long for this kind of phone ! This fone has a very good and strong specs but wonder why they don't put a better screen resolution to this product ? Pls bring it out to the shelves.....grrrrr

  • There need no worries and doubts about this device. It is similar to 610c in all aspects except the keypad and screen. It runs on Windows Mobile 6 or 6.1 with a small screen and querty keyboard. This is just to make a choice for customer between the keyboard layouts.

  • Has anyone here already used this phone? some phones with similar design looked nice at first but came out to be really useless,(not for hp brand as i remember),,but if anybody was satisfied with it let me know plz! -I wanna buy this model as soon as it arrives-

  • the only bad thing about this phone is it only has 1 memory card slot, unlike the ipaq 6545.

  • ....Small screen!! How is it small, I've seen Windows mobile on much smaller screens and guess what I was able to browse the web very easily, I for one like this phone, and when it hits the stores will be buying one

  • Hp software may provide passage for hackers. See 20th Dec. 07 ZDnet article:"Every HP laptop that ships with HP Software Update, a patch utility, is vulnerable to a zero-day vulnerability that can leave the PC unbootable." Take care!

  • AVOID this phone at all costs. The screen is very small. How am i to browse the internet on this? This phone will make you blind tring to read the small screen. When will hp learn to make a 3.6 inch screen with windows mobile 6 in it?

  • I see that the phone has all the updated features we are looking for except that the screen is a bit small. Wish the screen is abt 3 inches. Other than that, I would folk out all my money for it.

  • I need the info regarding HP ipaq110 and ipaq220.. If some body using it plz pass on to me. The request to wbsite holders to add these phones also

  • for all, price for this model is about 550 EUR. look here: bye

  • hp has a very great experience when it commes to laptops, hope this phone would live up to the reputation. for me this is a great phone, but like what chix said, if only it had video call & a wider screen. let's hope hp hear out our comments :)

  • nice fone. does it have expandable memory?

  • where did you get this info from who will be saling the phone wit that 800 price tag

  • It's gonna be available on Oct 30, 2007. The retail price is $835. I love it, just waiting

  • I just had a phone call with a local HP office in Croatia and they're saying that it will be on the market in May 2008. Other model 610 will be available on the local market in February 2008... Still a long time to wait, looks to me that they made a blueprint for the phone, and that it doesn't exist yet...

  • Looks AMAZING Does anyone know when it will be available ? It almost seems too good to be true, but I don't see a catch! Plus since it's HP I'm sure it has been tested more than, say, UBiQUiO :P

  • if only it had video call & a wider screen. .

  • this phone is as close as u can get to a future smart phone. it has a touch screen, built in GPS nav, not to mention the 3 megapixel cam. and what's really intriguing is that this is a quadband phone. need i say more? on the downside, the dimensions and thickness of the phone is what makes it gayy.. screen is a little bit small and the thickness is almost like a psp! although i think this phone is much better, performance wise, than the samsung i780.

  • I cannot wait for this phone to come out... it has everything love to have on a phone except the screen Res. I think that 320 x 240 is not enough... I lov my Treo 700p with 320 x 320... I use my phone a lot for web browsing and the addition 80 pixels to me makea big difference... specially because the Pal Browser does a great job in reformatting the Webpages into a nice scrolable way. I hope that he new WM6 Professional will have better than the WM5 Browser. I thk that havinga 3MP cam with autofoucus will make me leave my 6 MP Cam at home, since onkly use the 3MP on the Camara anyway.. I jst hope tha the night shot is good enough, because most phones are not that good.. specially without areal flash. The cool part is the GPS, I hope the map software is nice and has 3D views... and the WIFI make it complete. Hopefully the fast 520MHz CPU will make th WM6 faster, because some of the other WM5 are very slow. Anyway does anyone know whatprice and when is going to be released? And what operator is going to carry first? ATT or T-Mobile? Is this phone already for sale in Euope or Asia somewhere? How much? Thanks

  • Can't wait for it to hit the market. I love my 6515 (over two years) just wish it was 3g. I will still get to keep built in GPS and 3g, i'm there. I will have a funeral for the IR that I have never used, but i won't miss it. I will miss dual SD and Mini SD ports 12GB of memory between the two. I have more memory than the IPhone. But way to go HP.

  • I think this is outstanding phone.. The first that meets my quite tough requirements: qwerty phone with the right screen rezolution (240*320, for most wm applications) + touchscreen + wlan + WM + 520 cpu.. Second best phone after nokia 9500/9300i/e90 series :) Now interested in battery issue, availability ant pricing :)

  • I have to say, this phone doesn't look very appealing. Features seem good but it can be better designed. Its probably gonna have the same problems with the 6925... its not worth the upgrade.... and this phone is gonna put a big dent in your wallet, its gonna cost just over $1000 USD, worth it? I don't think so. Not when they make it for so cheap.

  • Very good. I like GPS function. And, of course - add Skype and enjoy! I wish Palm OS device with all that features. (Office is much better.)

  • I shall buy this ASAP. This looks like and advanced version of HTC s620 which is the most practical phone I have come across.

  • probably the most beatiful and functional QWERTY phone around. good job HP. i hope it wont be too expensive.

  • Strange... it resembles the Asus M530W, but thats where it ends. Different features... but why do they have siimilar casing.. Same casing vendor? Or its the standard design for Windows Mobile 6.0? Geez... its hard to be creative aite!

  • Looks like a worthy upgrade to the hw6915. I look forward to the upcoming reviews. So far Im happy with my hw6965, So ill happily wait til it gets released within Australia

  • This must be the most cool form factor pda phone! handsome and sexy..!

  • You almost make it sound like hp will read your pathetic list of things the phone needs ;) a hint, the phone has already been announced, with those features... all we can do is wait for the next one and hope it's not a dud.

  • These phone MUST have these features: at least 256 k colors for the screen card port for additional memory at least an fm radio or a audio player improve video frame rate like 30 fps in order to get a share in the market. Potential customers are looking for thesew latest phone features.

  • hmmm... no video call...

  • Another drab windows mobile 6.0 machine. But atleast this one features both a QWERTY and a 3.0MP camera in this form factor (a first). Too bad the screen is minuscule, espeically for a stylus based OS.
