  • The only way to turn off the phone is to remove the battery. You are supposed to only suspend the phone using the power button.

  • Is the Windows Mobile 5 operating system Danish? Then I guess it is hard to fix. But you can try going to Start -> Settings -> System -> Regional Settings. Or you can try doing a hard reset. It deletes all your files.

  • That makes the phone do a hard reset..

  • You should try the program cleanRAM, if that happens because of not enough memory. Or if that does not work then get some help from the programs website.

  • Please if somebody can HELP! My phone refuse to open different programs popping up a mess "Cannot open ... A critical component is either missing or cannot start because program memory is unavailable". Any advice well accepted THKS

  • awsum phone i hav it

  • l lovve this mini computer but how can I attach email ?

  • a 2006 model phone still accepted widely in 2010 is a good technology.for me it is still a mobile office, good organizer.those who are criticising this mobile machine should try and invent one simple toy that can bark like a dog.though there are challenges here and there but it is still a mobile machine if u can use it well.if u are a computer novice pls try other phones.if d battery runs down remove it to put the phone off, after a while it will regain some % of battery life.

  • hi this is shiva this is an modern type of software just like a mini computer so that we can just lika a computer like options in this mobile,, thank u

  • as for me the battery last as long as I use it.when the netbook looks heavy,I switch to my iPAQ6915.It is greater than many big fones

  • Hello everyone, I bought a used ipaq, gsm network and the signal is between bad and no signal, which can be? I read that the battery can be addictive, but does anyone have any ideas? Thank you for listening.

  • hi friend i am a great fan of theis phone can u tell me wjhich battery are u using bcause i am using dynapack 1200 mah and let me know how much your battery lasts thanks...

  • Errate corrige: On ipaq hw 6915 i have installed TomTom version 7.915 :)

  • @ sanchezcaro part 2 "crashes easily" - yes a windoze mobile Os (?) often crashes, but generally mobile devices OS is weak for definition. "useless camera" - 1,3 Mp, discrete colours, honest definition. "useless gps"- I installed TomTom 6 the last year. Fix for effemeridi update from cold use: 30 sec., fast in computation and its display. "bad phone" - crisp audio, great sensibility in zones with bad signal, i can us it with my left hand: try to do the same with the fantastic iphone 4... ;) "internal memory blocked" - not my case but you can install programs on Mini Sdcard too. But, OVERALL, in 2010 we are still speaking about a 2006 mobile phone: this is the sign that it is still a good, honest, decent piece of hardware...

  • @ sanchezcaro Simply you are a complete ignorant of technology. Read with attention its specs: GPS, WI-FI, Bluetooth, Touchscreen, 416 Mhz cpu, hardware graphic acceleration, external keyboard, infrared port et cetera et cetera. Plus its layout permits to be used with one hand. My experience with it: Dropped from 2 meters: no damages. Sensibility for radio module: superior to Apple iphone. Yes unique problem is edge for data... as the iphone 2007-2008 ;)

  • Press green, red and start button, when the phone is not switch on

  • I cant believe today in 2010 good opinions about this outdated phone. Tell me truly: have you ever tried a recent phone? or do u live in afganistan or a similar country? Here in Spain any known person, wokmates.. who see me take it out of my phone asks me what is this brick, "gameboy", "plumber register machine"... those are literal words from them translated from spanish I bought this in march 2008. The motherboard crashed in jan 2009. Its been carefully treated, but its really slow from the beginning and apart from wat other users say: - crashes easily - the browser doesnt support any multimedia content - really slow processor - useless camera - useless gps, only if you get so lost that u wouldnt mind waiting half an hour, u would use it, besides u cant uninstall the preinstalled outdated tomtom navigator version - bad phone: bad coverage, low sound in phonespeaker, blocks sometimes for no aparent reason, ppl on their nerves for a zzzzzz they hear during a call... - guys from hp have internal memory blocked so u cant uninstall any preinstalled software I could be all night telling disadvantages NO COMPRES ESTE TELEFONO! lo que dicen abajo es cierto.

  • my camera is not functioning, how do i rectify the problem

  • im using ipaq 6965, some files were deleted, guys, how can i get wifi setting? by the way, ilove using ipaq, yes expensive yet, convenient to use... all in 1... somebody to help me with my problem..

  • This device is crap, bought it 4 years ago and today had smashed it into a wall. It cost me so much nerves when I wanted to call somebody fast and I just couldn't because of it's lag and all of it's tricks - like you want to call, but no, you have just called someone, so device turns off by itself even when the battery is full, and then you cannot turn it on! an finally when you turn it on, it has no gsm signal for about 5 minutes. So if it's still on sale in some countries DON'T buy it! it's laggy, it's not dependable, and HP - they just forget about support and updates. Will !!!never!!!! ever use any of HP products! So glad I had smashed it today! finally I can buy a good device after many years of struggling with this piece of sh..!

  • It is a magnificent phone for business and has an appealing appearing.

  • How can i change the language from Danish to English ? Guys help Pliz

  • Why shut it off? Just put it to flight mode, turn off the screen with the button on the top right corner and put it away. With the excellent battery life and short recharging time, I never had a problem. If you REALLY want to turn it off, the only way is to take out the battery

  • Please my simple questio is, how can i swicth off and on this phone. this as been a serious problem with this phone. even a computer has where you can off and on! please your help is useful

  • please where did they normally off/on this phone. my own as been given stress. please very urgent!

  • best way to use thet is use GPRS, open Google maps, and switch gps ON so u will have GPS mapping rrrrrrrrrrrright on the best maps- Google maps.. what can be better??

  • That's right, DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE if u don't understand nothing from IT it's a very expensive phone... so not everybody can have it, especially form the other countries except USA and Australia..

  • i have the phone hp ipaq hw6945 and i am so glad that i buy this phone, i have a small lap top in my pocket, and i am shore that this phone cant be used by anyone, because first u have to know to work on pc then buy it, or if u really want a mobile phones, this is the real choice... it's an american style and u cant buy it from an other place... tnx

  • I am really sorry to ear all that. I do not have this phone, i came to this page just to colect some openion becouse wantend to buy this HP 6915. If its really so....

  • DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE, YOU WILL DEFINITELY REGRET IT! I got this phone (it was 6945 version) brand new (I also had various phones), and problems were following: - Battery life is short (1,5 day max) - All data in the phone memory dissapeared TWICE - Unstable wireless connection - After the installation of multiple applications (FROM TRUSTED SUPPLIERS), phone works muuuck slower (although none of them were running in background) - When trying to make a call, it freezes (solved that with new software from 6915, 6915 and 6945 are the same phones) - Can't get MMS Messaging to work - In the camera mode, after turning GPS positioning and frame counter, these can't be shut down without a reset (soft or hard) - Camera is very bad, even for 1,3 mpix (compare nokia 6230i with same camera and display 65K) - It takes forever (more tahn 5, even 10 min+)to read SIM contacts - Lack of option to mark all contacts or delete all at once, you have to delete one contact at the time. - Video player doesn't support a medium quality and medium resolution .MP4 files, only .3gp and .H.263. - SMS messaging: it's hard to switch between capital and small letters, without using the touchscreen (it shows cal letters on, and then it turns cap.l. off for no reason). - Speaker sound is too weak - Below average sound quality on the headphones (original ones) - It doesn't support animations (only shows first frame of.GIF file) - Freezes when trying to change profile (eq. from general to silent). - Below average network reception - QWERTY keys too small I could go on an on, and on, but there is on point. this phone was carefully used and it still did all of this and more. MY FRIENDLY ADVICE, AVOID THIS PHONE !

  • this ipaq still sold in canada ( rogers) and usa and saudi ariba

  • Good gadget. I love it. I lost my first copy and still bought another one.

  • here in central america this phone is ok you can buy original battery; case; etc:::

  • well..it runs dvd rips with subtitles, skype, igo8 and if you want games call of duty 3d works.battery lasts 2-3 days with low usage. the menu is a little bit slow sometimes, the phone is a little bit fat :) and takes a little bit more to recharge. it's a great phone, gps and pda...

  • no service centers n software problems.,

  • Hi, I'm from India I have buyed Hp iPAQ 6945(US model). This is the phone that it came more than 3 years and i'm still using it and it's 100% working condition. Advantages: 1.Quality 2.I've putted down more than 20 times and still it is in proper condition. 3.I used to watch 700MB DVD-RiP movies in this phone using core player. 4.Good music quality in loudspeaker and superb quality in head phone. Disadvantages: 1.Slight slow. 2.240x240. i.e., it is very difficult to get games for this phone. 3.1200 MAh battery is not enough. 4.Navigation key is difficult to use. Maintance: Till date i've just spend to buy a battery(not original). In India i'm unable to find a service center so i've buyed duplicate.

  • I have HP 6195 from Italy. and i cannot change it's language could any one have an idea how to do that.

  • I came with the same phone from UAE and it works just fine on my ZAIN network here in Nairobi.

  • I've had my HW6915 for about two years now; overall, I'm very impressed. Unlike several users/owners on here, I don't tax my phone with a lot of heavy processing tasks - to me it's a combination PDA/satnav/phone, not a mini PC, despite being twice as powerful as a desktop PC I owned ten years ago! While not as fast as newer, all singing and all dancing phones on the market today, I have found this phone to be reasonably robust, reliable, and effective for what it was built to be: A limited power palm-top computer intended as a software-augmented PDA. If there are two gripes I have, they're the camera, which is rubbish (1.3mp with no physical zoom? laughable), and the WiFi, which cannot even handle a simple WEP session, let alone WPA protocols! Seems HP have their own way of setting encrypted sessions, and the public standard WEP and WPA methods are not, it would appear, compatible. Weird is not really the right word for that. Just as well I don't need that on my PDA, really! Never the less, overall, I like the phone, and will be looking to HP for my next Windows Mobile phone in a few months, when I replace the HW6915.

  • i want to know the problem of shutting down the phone

  • Nice Design i like it but i don't like the Features.. i hope HP make smartphone with Design like this smartphone with new Features like 3G , 3.5G & Java Midp 2

  • The messaging function(mail) at the begining worked very good. After two months I cannot send mails in any of the accounts. I can receive mails, but I cannot send. Does anybody know what`s happening?

  • haning problems restarting phone need help cause i love my phone and want to still use it please help.

  • I have the 6955 phone definitely the best cellphone I have ever had and would recommend this phone to people. If you dont have one now I would say wait for its upgraded model the 3G iPaq 910c Business Messenger.

  • Guys, Its a good, fancy, costly high end phone. But once it decides to oney the law of gravity(fall), it turns into a nice pile of plastice glass and metal scrap. Its very sensitive. Mine fell down and the touch screen properties vanished, paralysing all the entire phone functions.

  • i've had this phone for almost a year. someone gave it to me as a gift. during the first few months that i was using it, performance was really ok.then after i dropped it, i can no longer restart or open the phone. the downside of this phone is that there are only a few establishments that knows how to fix it. i brought the phone to HP office in Makati and they said that they will replace my phone in exchange of php 44,000???!! well, they did not honor the warranty since it was bought in the states.. too bad. ive only used it for awhile.and also, the camera sucks!vry low quality. it cant take pictures at night.the keypads are also hard to press. they hurt my fingers. what i only like in this phone is that i can surf the net in wi-fi hotspots.anyways, im based here in davao.

  • Eddie, Couldn't help noticing your mention of "Manila". I have a 6965 and am in Cebu using Globe prepaid. Have you been able to connect through GPRS and surf the internet? I cannot and so far no success with customer support from Globe and HP. Thanks.

  • I had this phone for two months and gave it good use... until it just gave up the ghost and died. HP don't want to know (I was offered a standard 380 euro fix... I paid 170 euro for it with a warrantee). I did enjoy it but it would hang frequently. Three times it lost all data (when battery ran out whilst on standby). When using the GPS for 20 minutes or more the screen would fade out and it would need a hard reset and a 20 minute reset. It is to chunky for the pocket... I purchased a leather case but it would still turn on with a bump in the bag (locking the keyboard is difficult). Don't take in the rain or where it is humid. I have had several HP PDAs but I wouldn't recommend HPs service. Caveat Emptor

  • Hi , few days ago i bought new ipaq hw6915 from shop and i have some troubles , i cant instal any programs to pda even for windows mobile , error says : Program is not valid for pocket pc...... what should i do ? help me guys

  • Well just to let you all know I purchased HP6965 a year and half back and never had any issue while using it. The price was high and I gave a second thought of whether to purchase this or not but I think I got Value for Money. i have been using all the features and feel I would buy HP next time too....

  • Did you find a fix for your Ipaq shutting down?

  • hi u can use satnav 's sat guide as it doesnot use data service

  • i just want to findout wether this phone comes when network locked, i want to buy one from ebay but im a little scared coz i did buy one of HP pda's on reaching me in Africa it was locked, i almost died. Please answer cos i want to own it as early as next week tuesday thanks Ben Uganda

  • I own 6965..hack of life to suffer from tis model when the battery 65% and below...it slow and shut down the phone.make call/call can't recivedwhen I use the wifi browse 2-3 pages screen slowly faded then suddely shut down need to wait 5- 10 min and do soft reset wat 1 hell ..battery is not stable i hope it not the hardware cos this problem..reconsider this model!!!!!

  • i cannot understand u, what do u meen hangs very often

  • For people in Brazil this is very important. This phone does not allow you to edit the numbers of received calls. So if its a long distance call, you are not able to insert the operator code to call back.

  • I intent to buy one of this "gadgets" ... but I have one supplementary question: Did HP 6915 support a mini SD card of 4 Gb ??? Or whitch is the maximum value of the SD card supported by the this PDA. Thank you !

  • I've just bought mine on ebay and waiting for it's arrival. I have a question regarding GPS. I currently have gps on my Nokia smartphone. Whenever I want to use gps (via a bluetooth gps module) it has to access the network from time to time to download something which in turn costs me an arm and a leg. My carrier charges ridiculous rates (Fido). Is it the same on this phone? Does it need network access when using the gps. I see that people here say that the used it on the airplane. I cant see how this would be possible if this phone also neede network access to use the gps.

  • ive got a problem i cant seem to go on to internet explorer it comes up with the page is not valeyed cheak and try again in spainish (i borght it in spain) has antone had the same problem if so can you help

  • i am a user of the hp ipac phone.i started having this problem of it not charging.is it the batttry fault or something else.i hope my problem will be attended to.thanks.

  • I had a basic HP model and somebody in Barcelona stole it in my mid-2007, together with my Samsung D600. Came back home and immediately bought this HP to replace both devices. I battled to get myself not to use the stylus and use the keyboard. One you can change from num to alpha, etc things go smoothly. It hung up once and all I did was to put it in the cradle and run a sync. All was well after that. I am 100% happy with this purchase and will definitely buy this HP again.

  • I've also had this phone for several months and once you learn what the HP likes it rewards you . I agree with those on this board that you almost require a tech savvy nature to run these type of PDA. Downloading necessary fixes, shutting down programs running in the background and from time to time resetting the phone on around 3 times a week to clear the RAM(working memory). Accompanied with TomTom and many other rich programs (Dictionary, My Sport Training, Astronomy Stars, etc.) one quickly sees why Pocket PC is the new way to go. So a little patience and a little know how makes almost any phone a friendly phone. Yes, even this one!

  • one of the best smartphones ever...too bad that HP is not offering support, and too bad that is HP branded, and is made by HTC.It has some software bugs, but it's ok.I like gps snd wifi, but I don't like short battery life.

  • really cool phone.....really best phone ever i had...

  • Sorry to post that, but I own this phone since at least 8 months (I bought it the first month of its availability). My conclusion is: I don't like this phone. I do like its features: GPS and outlook organizer and detailed contact list. But the phone is slow, very slow. Its sometime unusable! I am unable to answer some calls because the phone can take 3 sec to "power on", even if the screen is available and showing me the call. It should be at least 2 time faster to be a good phone. Check other brands.

  • This device is now become my girl friend, i cant live without it. Really really cool, dont know what i can go without this Machine.

  • this device works really great...no resets, no stucks and ai have a lot of programs installed on it..

  • this gps is sirfstar iii ?

  • Hi can anyone help me. i downloaded a couple of maps but i cannot seem to open them and use them. can anyone give me a step by step guide of how to use and where to save maps once i ahve downloaded them? thanks

  • Mine never hang. Maybe you should buy it in other stores

  • the worst device you can ever see ... nothing worst than HP iPAQ DO NEVER BUY SUCH DEVICE, always hangs always fall, always hangs too much, really you cant imagine it, i baught 6 devices for our employee and we are all feeling bad and unsatisfied ...

  • does the 240*240 screen cause a lot of problems in loading wm programs? and please tell me whether its true that this phone has problems az a cellphone in use?

  • I've bought this thing a week ago. Great PDA! At least for me. All features works very good. Only 1 problem. Its lag so much. Anyone got the same problem? Anyone have the solution except sell it again? Thx.

  • Can't connect through GPRS. Anyone have the same problem?

  • Bad... Bad.... Bad.... The phone "hangs" very often. Sucks...

  • Is this PDA can edit or create new word, excel,or powerpoint documents? I want to buy this PDA, but the shopkeeper said that it only has a documents viewer. Thx.

  • I am pretty convinced with the features and capability of this device and going to buy this today. Please let me know if any body know how to get the GPS service enabled in Bangalore..INDIA. Thanks in Advance..!!!!

  • Is it available to upgrade to WM 6.0 for southeast asia?Especially in Indonesia?

  • you know they ask you to turn off your phones while on the flight. Next time u do that you might take the plane down with this phone.

  • I love this phone, it keeps me company, i have no friends! I think that the battery is not that great but the GPS is awesome!

  • About the slow phone operations on this phone, its actually the Window Mobile 5 thats causing the slowness. Here is the fix to this problem: Look in the thread for the "Phone Hack.zip" file. Overall, I find this phone excellent. It's the Swiss-Army-knife of phones. My battery lasts a decent amount of time, 3-4 days between charges based on my usage. I also have 2 extra batteries so it's all good.

  • The gps in this ipaq is great, I downloaded de GPS TUNER , use my own maps for calibration and i was ready to go. I used my Ipaq gps on a commercial flight sitting by the window, and I got gps fix all the flight. It was great having all my flight info, speed, alt, avrg speed, ete, eta.

  • Hey everyone, I just bought the 6925 Cingular (unlocked). It's good, the screen could be brighter & higher resolution (u can't tell how dark it is unless u put it next to another phone - the screen is really basically fine) I have installed TomTom and the GPS works great, but u gotta get a fix for GPS to work with TomTom: Registry Editor 1. Connect your Pocket PC to your computer using ActiveSync. 3. Run the registry editor and navigate to the following registry entry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > ControlPanel > GPS Settings 4. Click on GPS Settings to view the keys associated with this entry. 5. Right-click the value Hide and choose Delete to delete the value. ---- basically the phone is good, it's a bit big, the qwerty is good, camera i don't really care about .. the dial pad theme can be improved but for some reason i can't install another one.... other than that, the qwerty is good, its just a bit slow but no problems with calls or anything... its generally good, the only way I will upgrade is if another model comes out with gps, wifi, bluetooth, qwerty, its a lot smaller and high resolution good screen.. otherwise theres no need to upgrade

  • Very bad phone, bad battery, always turn off immediately (a big problem of HP 69xx series). I must replace 4 ones for the time of warranty limited. Never think about HP again

  • Battery Sucks

  • I will keep it simple.. Pros. *very good exterior design. *qwerty keyboard feels nice when typing *very good software package included *keep all your info, contacts, emails, task, up to date with active sync *GPS at your hand! (get GPS TUNER 5, excellent tool) *wifi, easy set up, excelent connection speed *bluetooh *edge-gprs, easy set up, get your mms, wap, emails, via your cell phone gprs service. Cons. *Battery life sucks *when you are running more than 3 programs at the same time, sometimes the screen freezes. *Camera takes up to 5 seconds to activate when the program is not on. *Camera with no autofocus *You need to buy mini sd card, (not included)

  • I have an iPaq hw6945, but its battery last for less than 1 day, at Stand by, with no other use! Is it normal or there might be a problem here?

  • Does anyone know were i can get an instruction booklet for this PDA? I have heard rumours it can work as a toaster and washing machine using the engineer code. Please only reply if you are German with a cow names Hanz. Rgds Herman

  • True, the backspace takes a full 1.5 seconds to reflect. Many times calls are missed while the memory is full. I love the browsing experience of the phone but these small errors are irritating. The audio quality (while talking) isnt something I am too proud of

  • I have had the Australian version of this PDA phone (hw6965) for almost 9 months now. It replaced a SE 910i. The HP with WM5.0 has very many features as a PDA, including GPS. However, as a phone it is very disappointing. Phone functionality is very slow and frustrating despite a relatively fast processor. HP needs to dedicate more processor power to the phone. Response to incoming calls is so slow or not at all that they are often missed. The joy stick is difficult to use and is nothing compared to the SE thumbwheel. A serious lack for a high-powered PDA is that it does not have UMTS (3G). I am thinking of going to thSE990i or whatever follows it (fast, featured and user friendly).

  • Did anyone see that the backspace key during phone operation is very slow? Or is it just inmy unit (6965)? Rest looks fine..I used to own 6515 and the backspace key in that works just fine.

  • I have my 6915 for a while and it is great. I installed iGO and it works excellent. I am very satisfied with this phone.

  • crappy 3d mapking software included, all maps are outdated. if you want newer map, you have to buy again. support is bad. phone hangs up a lot. been bringing the phone to dealer almost every month. problems encountered, (1) notification for all appointments doesn't pop up anymore, (2) if you try to install other 3rd party programs, the phone hangs, (3)the joystick gets sticky and gets stuck often when you press/toggle it up (4) GPS hangs or doesn't get signal sometimes - no data stream (5) last time i sent to dealer, they had to send it to HP service center for board replacement. after a few days, the appointment notification doesn't pop-up anymore. i give up. phone is crappy, crappy, crappy! i wish i didn't buy this phone. FAIR WARNING TO ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER BUYING THIS PHONE OR YOU WILL JUST LOSE MONEY!

  • Cooool...yesterday I just checked the real hw6915 from the shop...ah, really looks great. It has a very proffesional, and a sexy look. it's a must ve gadget. I wanted to try it though, but I couldn't...so I just had an outside look of the phone. I still don know how it performs. Can any one tell me more about the screen resolution and the aquare display. Any one been able to put third party applications? How about Destinator, anybody tried it?

  • how is the battery life for this hp6915

  • Please help! I wanna buy hp hw6915, because of the gps capability it has. I will be using it mainly for flying and driving. I love a device with phone function and GPS as well, so i think this is the right tool.Is this a good device for the job?

  • Query about HP-iPAQ-6915/6965: Can we download and view PDF attachments over e-mail. Also, is it possible to send attachments (word, xl, ppt, pdf) through this phone? Thank you in advance.

  • Question for readers, anyone know how I can get the built-in camera to work as webcam with Skype Mobile? I have installed Skype mobile software (works very well) but would appreciate any advice on how I can activate inbuilt camera to work with Skype. Have had my new iPaq for a month now, working exactly as HP says, a real pleasure to use daily although a high capacity (extended) battery is an absolute must(have ordered a 2500 mAh). Anyone who can advise me how to solve the webcam issue, their help would be appraciated very much. Thanks for reading this post.

  • what tomtom would i install for this phone?

  • Very very fragile and expensive screen! It fell from a tea table (barely 35cm height). I crack on the screen. HP service is very firm that it is user's fault, it is strictly out of varnty coverage. Result is 269USDplus VAT bill for the repair. One cannot help but think that the trick is to make money by replacing such a fragile and expensive screen. I used many other pdas so far . I dropped some too bun none so flimsy enough to break at a little more then a feet height.

  • Hi Carl, you can buy a destinator software and a free autorouting map at Satguide.com

  • I recently bought a 6915 and to my surprise after owning 2 O2s this 6915 PDA actually does what it says. Its fast, the camera is much better than the O2, BUT like anything i recomend not to load too many 3rd party apps. You will start havving probs and software conflicts!!! LOVE THIS PHONE PS fantastic phone for hands free, impressed!

  • Have now used HP 6965 for 4 mths. Installed Voice Command--didnt quite work. Does anyone has this problem? I'm only keen to use the voice-dial function. Can anyone help?

  • It comes with built-in GPS. It can also connect to Bluetooth GPS. You cant insert a GPS module unless it goes into the mini SD slot

  • can i have insert a gps module in this ipaq?

  • Cingular Premier sent me the HP 6925 after having numerous problems with the Blackjack I love it works perfectly with my 2GB card.

  • well i have bought hp 6955 n have carried it ti india i was wondering if anyone out there knows how i can get gps services in india

  • does anyone knows how to change the language from spanish to english on this hw6915? please!

  • I bought the ipaq6965 and I find it very interesting. I was amazed esp. with its GPS function it has voice & video navigator. When I downloaded the Manila Map it started automatically when I runnig my car along the road. For the support, HP is good and it has an online support as well. I like the unit of its professional look that's why my wife was asking me if I can give to her to switch her Sony Ericson K600i. I bought 1-spare battery of the same size because it drains quickly while using GPS for it has only 1200MAH cap.

  • I am trying to send and recieve MMS but i can't get it to work any idea?

  • no camera? no buy. but if you do put a camera on it then please mount two. one on its face and another in the rear so we can use it as a webcam. or an even cooler idea would be to put one on a swivel with some decent optics. a 3MP camera will do just fine

  • I just bought the ipaq 6915. Does anyone know if I can use my gmail account? the only email I can use is my hotmail.

  • I'm very interrested in the HP ipaq hw6515, but there's one thing i'm not sure about and that is if the HP is compatible with MAC. Can anyone help me with this problem???

  • has ne1 used HP iPAQ 6965.... is it worth buying.... hwz the sound clarity and all.. I saw on the HP website... this PDA is in the "discontinued list" of HP... please respond Im confused between Imate or HP... help guyz

  • I have use it for 4 mths now. No problem as long as I dont install too many 3rd party software. Anyone know whether I can add voice dial feature to it? This will make calling out via bluetooth much easier--esp when u r driving.

  • I purchased the 6915 after having a Treo 650 and getting fed up with the size of the screen and reboots. I am delighted with how far ipaq has come in the last 4 years, but the battery life is very disappointing with the standard battery. You can purchase longer life batteries, but this increases the overall size of the unit. The screen is fine and when you have wi-fi set up, it will use this to download emails etc, so email is very convenient when using wifi. I find the calling and dialling part of the software clumsy and slow. When you start or end a call, it never seems to do it immediately. The camera is very poor in comparison to other cameras and if I had to choose again, I would buy the version below, as it does not have a camera, but does have a mini SD and a normal SD slot I am told. The Satnav is fantastic though, and as I travel all over EMEA, this has been very handy. Obviously you have to buy the updates. If you need to share the SIM with your car or another phone, it is easy to take the SIM out, BUT I still do not know how to gracefully turn the unit completely off! I hope that helps anyone considering purchase.

  • DO NOT waste your money.IT has a bug.If you changed local settings others than us english, you will be not able to use hp camera or many other application. It is unusally slow and after soft restart program memory has 32 mb free. After normally using a device it start decreasing, when reach 25 mb you will be not able to use application.BE WARE.I own it for two month and still looking for a way to return my money.

  • Had it for last 4 months in India. It's the best ppc I've ever had... except for the battery life. Lasts for a day only for me.. but the rest is super... specially the built in GPS receiver!

  • i really wanna buy this phone but wat puts me off is its screen resolution i.e. only 240*240.. i think which is not upto the mark if u spent 35ks for it (india )! can someone assure me if its good enough ?

  • Had the ipaq for 3 months. its brillant. The only thing is the battery life!

  • Owned the pda for a week. So far, its brilliant - connectivity and download speed are strong points, a little big in size, but NAVIO software is great for desert driving and backtracking - i rate it a strong 8

  • Looking forward to buy this phone but first I would like to know if it is too bulky, or too thick, I really dont like heavy, bulky, unconfortable phones, can anyone help please?

  • I am tempted to buy HP iPAQ hw6915 but need to know a few issues. Let say when we had more than 1000 contacts information and more than 800+ SMS messages, does it slow the performance of this PDA phone? Also is there a lag in keyboard typing?

  • I have been using this phone for a few months. Can't say the GPS works perfect but all in all, it's a very stable and reliable phone.

  • no 3G? not a big deal! it's still the best PDA .. at least for until middle of 2007 ...

  • Downloading software from a torrent or p2p web site is illegal, and GSM Arena does not condone these types of discussions. You would be wise to ask that question in the proper forum. That said, what you choose to do is your own responsibility, and when you get caught, you will be prosecuted ;-) Hope that answered your question!

  • i just bought my hp6965, when i switched on camera, i press the icon GPS my pda hangs can't do anything. anyone can help me to solve this problem, please!!!!!

  • does anyone know if it comes with the TomTom sofware? if not can you get it off torents or something?

  • Where did you order you 1800 battery? Is it HP?

  • HASSAN yes ,the MSN and SKYPE will work on this phone , msn will work with GPRS or EDGE but skype will need WIFI to work with clear voice.

  • Hello! I'm owner of this incredible device. Wifi and GPS are one of the best. Yes of course Skype works on device with no problems. Also Tom tom, you just need maps and it's it. Battery is the only thing that matters me, but i have olready ordered 1800 mAh. And you might have problems if you install programs witch don't suport Windows mobile 5.0 operating system, others work perfectly. I give 9/10.

  • Does anyone know for sure if a 3G model will be released???

  • Problems problems!!Unit hangs. Sent back to HP and used it for 2 days now--so far no problem like I have b4.HP personnel says my problems b4 is bcos I had too many 3rd party software installed earlier--not compatible. Now I have only HP preinstalled software. Let's see how it goes.

  • i wanna buy this device , but i was wondering if MSN and Skype work with it ?

  • Awesome phone Look a bit getting use to from my SE P910i GPS works well as well - good characther recognition only negative is you cant switch the device off completely - no shut down :(

  • hi the hand set is really good

  • As an owner of an iPAQ 6915, let me clear up some misconceptions about this device. Firstly, the display. Agreed 240x240 is not the biggest out there but it is certainly one of the best in its class and when compared to other cell phones, the iPAQs colour, clarity and brightness are infinitly better. Secondly, the connectivity is amazing. It would be very hard to find a similar device with the extensive connectivity options offered. And it is true, Skype works on this iPAQ Thirdly, Windows Mobile 5. In terms of ease of use and functionality, WM5 is probably the best OS out there, and then one must take into account that there are far more applications for WM then there will ever be for Symbian operating systems (used on all Nokias including E61). Opening Word, Excel or PDF attachements from e-mails in Windows Mobile is wonderful. Syncronisation of contacts, tasks, calender, files or anything else as well as adding/removing programs is handeled very well using MS ActiveSync. Windows Media Player provides music management capability that in my opinion rivels even that of the Apple iPods. GPS also works nicely. I have been using the device with freeware GPS software (ODGPS) and even that is able to provide me with mapping as well as statistical information. HP has clearly put a lot of thought into the design of this device, from the flip open, translucive, protective cover, to the extensive "HP Profiles" and "iPAQ Wireless" Applications. As a total communication solution, multimedia powerhouse and organisational nerve center, I would strongly recommend this product.

  • new extended version of HW6900 with umts & FM player be launched

  • new hp ipaq extended version of HW6900 with umts & FM player will be launched

  • 8.5/10 rating using this phone for around 3 months. recently the miniture joystick is going crazy, any1 encounter this ? any1 got chinese character support sofeware ? 2gb miniSD is no problem coz i m using it..

  • been waiting and waiting in USA for release. bought a UK model. NO repeat NO keyboard documentation, no NO windows documentation and outbound emails go nowhere. VERY DISAPOINTED. thought this would be the holy grail of communication. just a nightmare so far. have spent hours on the phone with T-Mobile - no results.

  • It works very well with TOM TOM gps software. and I didn't get any crashing while I was using gps camera. JUST TO TELL YOU THIS: all its features working perfectlly except camera that I haven't had big expectations before I bought it.

  • Now my new problem is whenever I turn on the camera the iPAQ hangs!!!! Chinese star and text messages problem settled.

  • Phone to HP and complaint it ~~ it ~~ it. Be honest, a lower resolution display make GPS become useless. Someone may argue 240x240 is enough, then ok, go ahead!! Why don't we ask ourselves a question "240x320 (or VGA in near future) is a norm, why 240x240 is used?" i) graphic hardware problem? ii)selling you old stuff? (= treat you as stupid)

  • Bought this 2 wks ago. Problem: Whenever i use GPS for photos, the unit hang. Also, Chinese Star--once launched I cant read my text messages anymore. Also slow response to prog launching.

  • For me, 6900 is nothing but just a 'toy', how come 240x240 could be used in a so-called 'latest' product? HP, please take a look at N80!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow.. This is what i ever immagined to have..Everythings in to one hand...I cant wait till it comes out officially.. can anybody tell me where can i bye it in France or UK. Carry on HP

  • I installed Mobile Skype for higher processor speeds. Follow this link for it. Have fun with it all. BTW opera mini for slower processor speeds works great on the unit also.

  • Can I put in HP iPAQ hw6900 miniSD of 2 GB? Since it says 128 mb in the specs....

  • who knows how can I find map software for GPS on HP6900? Thanks [email protected]

  • I got it today in stock from here $875 yeah!!!

  • GEEK - I saw your post below) and I am hoping you can tell me which version of Skype you are using on your 6965. I am getting my 6915 tomorrow and would like to set up Skype as soon as I get it but dont see a version listed on the Skype site for the 69** series yet. Help! I just got my HW6965, what a great device. I am useing Skype on it with a BlueAnt Wireless X5 Stereo Headphones. WOW fantastic preformance, HP with A2DP and AVRCP profiles, WIFI is great and keyboard is much easier to use than HW6515. Overall speed not to bad, needs more memory in it but they all do!!! Over all I love it. Thanks in advance,

  • This Ipaq was released in Melbourne, Australia last Friday (09/07/06) RRP $1199 Harvey Normans have it for $999

  • Can someone please tell me if I can install navigation software on this phone. I see a lot of GPS mainly for UK. Thanks

  • ipaq 6828 is provide by Quanta not HTC. this ipaq 6828 is same with O2 Atom.

  • this is the most kick a*s phone out there, full keyboard, GPS (which is AWESOME !!! especialy with tomtom) WiFi ...Edge, windows mobile 5, what else can you ask for ??!?!? i'm currently using the 6515 and i cant wait till the 6915 comes out, this phone is now my personal assistant, holding every bit of information i need instead of forgeting stuff all the time, also it syncs WAY better then Palm which keeps screwing up with my contacts ...this is the Ultimate in GSM phones !!!!!!!!! keep it coming HP

  • ohis, try the fijitsu loox t830. GPS Sirf III+Windows Mobile 5. Am waiting for this due mid july.

  • pleaseeeeee every body i want to buy hp6915 so please give me the advice of this mobile is it good or not and what about the gps

  • Hi there. Guys, how are you all. I would like to get hold of this model as soon as it is available. Hope it is made in Taiwan by the Gadget Giant HTC. I bought ipaq 6828 last week but got a shock of my life. How could it be HP ( Hewlett Packard ). The camera more than sucks. Distortion while viewing the object and when you click the photo the blackish horizontal lines are very much visible in photo. By the way, ipaq 6828 is made in China. You can feel a small piece of round shaped mini plastic look PDA phone in your hand. Women would like it if they can sacrifice the use of camera on this USD 630 ipaq. HP Indonesia is also giving free mini SD 1 GB card. But whats the use when the ipaq itself is of inferior state. I switched back to ipaq 6515. And now I am Happy again. Just got out of my bad dream. Guys, I feel as the time passes by, Gadgets are getting Hi-Tech but loosing on Quality. Maybe I am wrong. I hope so.

  • i had my hp converted from other languages to emglish with a code.well if any one wants you could reach me [email protected]

  • What is the rival for this phone (PDA)? I want a name that include (this are very important to me: GPS, Windows mobile. Thanks!

  • Hey everyone; did you buy and used this 6915? i want to buy online but can not find in anywhere. i knew that it was announced but not on market. But if you have some opinions to share here; it must be on market.

  • not that powerfull of a phone it's a pqpc i like this phone to , forget abote the camera eaven if it's deasent on this one , nothing compared to the e60 wi fi i/e/g voip. those are 2 good phones on hp did good with a 1.3 mp camera

  • not that powerfull of a phone it's a pqpc i like this phone to , forget abote the camera eaven if it's deasent on this one , nothing compared to the e61 wi fi i/e/g voip. those are 2 good phones on hp did good with a 1.3 mp camera

  • very cool phone, i was wondering can i install gps navigation software?

  • skype on edge unlomited or on wi-fi

  • I just love mine I use the gps for golf, I am a hair stylist and use it to book appointments etc.. the batt. is a weak linc other than that its great

  • HP Phones are not worth it... stick to computers

  • Too bad ! I had a1 hw6515 and hate it so much that want to take a look with HP. In fact, HP has never took care with their customer: what they want, what they desire, what they can do ... tireddddd

  • Can you put skype on the 6515?

  • best phone ever. put skype on it. put xten on it. call around the world @ minimal cost. use sms fast & @ will. this is the best ever.

  • got my 6515 a month ago, hate it so much that I am selling for an O2 atom. i can only guess that 6900 can be that much better as the 6515 really really suck. Hp just didn't make any effort to connect the software(windows) with its hardward (THE KEYBOARD) almost useless. goodluck if you are interest in buying one. ps. another sucky thing is the camera and its software, just don't work at all compare with my old xda o2

  • i have the 6515 and it looks and seems to be the exact same thing. sucks they didnt upgrade to a 2.0MP camera. they should of made it 3G. dissapointed in HP

  • Looks like it is available on UK's HP site already...

  • Can any advise whether SMS messages and call history be transferred to one Windows Mobile 2005 based smartphone (such as O2 Atom) to other Windows Mobile 2005 based smartphone (such as iPAQ hw6900), or vice versa?

  • Has anyone found i miniSD barcode reader ?

  • Can we hear from someone, anyone, who has actually used the 6900 and can speak with some experience? Has the phone been released yet anywhere in the world? Or are we all reading and writing about a "work-in-progress"?

  • Are they make some model that is attractive for eye.Desing is first thing peple they see.First place for the ugly phone/pda.

  • Cons: - 64MB mem instead of 128MB - only 1.3MB camera - too thick (18mm!!) - no 3G - Bluetooth v1.1 (v1.2 is out for a while) - WiFi only 802.11b (802.11g is the latest) - Windows OS ( - made by HP (customer service + reliability)

  • HORRIBLE! is an understatement maybe nauseating is the right word for this looks more like a calculator than a phone,to make these worse lousy asMORINHO (NAS)

  • Overall this phone is definately an improvment from hw6500. But, I agree why they had to put up a whole new show. Only thing they have added is WM 5.0, and WiFi, and 4g weight. But, they should have upgraded it to 128MB memory. That's very important when you are playing games and running multiple applications. Overall I think they could have improved allot but they didn't

  • Such a disappointment. What HP should have done to differentiate this from the 6515w other the WiFi is to give it network coverage for UMTS, add 128MB ROM,128MB RAM Use MicroSD Card (save space and overall memory is cheap these days they should be able to increse it without killing the budget for R & D), Increase processor speed to 512MHz, change to 16M color display, add 2MP camera. I wouldn't mind then to spend the extra $$$ for a complete "mobile" package

  • this phone rocks!!!!!!!!!! i"m telling you< girls want me just because i got this phone!! police officers won"t even give me tickets!!!

  • I think just for Coming Soon phone - this SAKS :) Im using I-mate PDA2 (520Mhz 128RAM 320x240)

  • Looks good.. but does it stand a change against the Nokia E61? some geek please break down the pros and cons. Thanks

  • just wondering... why would anyone get this over the 6515.. in comparison.. the 6900 has less flash ROM.. 45 instead of 64 on the 6515.. and they basically just put a SD Wifi Card into the 6515 to make it the 6900 since 6900 lacks the SD Card slot.. o.. yea it does have a slightly faster processor but it does run on Windows Mobile 5.. so that does take up more resources.. to me.. 6900 = 6515 + SD Wifi Card the processor won't matter because it is WM5 which sucks up more resources..

  • do you think that this PDA is better than imate JAMin ???

  • This phone and pda combined is one of the best your going to get on the market and as for compatibility its way out the best with high processor speed, better than the previous model. Yes its big,but concider whats inside, the altimate portable pda technology in your hands. standing by solutions and technology.

  • It's still too big to be used as an everyday mobile phone.

  • This phone has everything. Too bad nokia doesn't come up with a phone with comparable specs.

  • seems ok..pricing and s/w quality / stability the key to success

  • first opinion and it aint a good one poor pooor poor
