HTC Desire 626s - User Reviews

  • Is there any software update for this ?

  • I want to know how to transfer pictures or documents to the sd card

  • Got a google locked one yesterday for $20, was super easy to bypass. Decent backup phone but it's definitely not fast but that's to be expected from an aging budget phone

  • Hello, is compatible or not?

  • This phone does not support 4g? In india?

  • Can anyone tell me is it dual Sim? If dual then where putt 2nd sim? Mobile box write dual sim

  • I need to know if this phone supports 3G to 900 Mhz WCDMA technology, can someone please answer this?

  • I really like the phone, I am actually enjoying mine, it doesn't crash, and it's very fast and strong. one of d greatest challenges of most smart phones is the screen breaking when d phone falls , the HTC 626 Desire s has surmounted that challenge to an extent. it's a cool phone.

  • What a horrible phone! It was my first phone that I got when I was 13. It wasn’t bad until about five months later. It became slow and was constantly having trouble. It used to restart itself, buzz uncontrollably, everything I did was delayed and sometimes it would even open apps randomly such as google. It made me so mad. One good thing is that it’s pretty indestructible. I did finally get so mad at how poorly it ran that I threw it hard on the ground and broke it. The camera sucks as well. I don’t recommend this phone to anyone, not even as a first phone or a budget phone. I have since upgraded to the iPhone 7+ upon turning 15, and I’ve had no trouble whatsoever.

  • How do I switch to 2g..please help me

  • The screen always go off when i switch on m'y data it is disturbing me a lot

  • I love mine

  • As younsaid intried and it doesn't work. still ahows the same insufficient storage . The metro pcs guys said its the phone problem . So its worst according to me

  • Bad phone. Mono speakers (unlike the HTC M series) and not nearly enough battery. On TMobile, mine could not have had a 2Ah battery. At most 1.5Ah, but more like 1Ah.

  • worst phone ever, 3g does not work in Nigeria, even d 4g

  • great phone but 3g is not working in Pakistan.

  • I agree with you this phone is one of the worst phones I ever had there's a tiny little speaker in the corner where it barely works it says the storage is full when it is not it's horrible phone Cricket makes the worst phones I like the company but the phones are terrible

  • Does this support 4G?

  • mine works fine

  • This is crappiest excuse of an android phone I've ever got worked fine for a couple months then started having battery problems where it would go from 80 to 62% on it's own now it turns off at 85% and restarts on it's own it's so annoying I can't do anything with it anymore wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone at all a waste of money

  • Agree with your review. Battery life is awful. Camera is just ok

  • dude my phones battery is fine, youre running like fifty apps probably

  • How is that possible?

  • Awesome Service

  • Awful awful phone. Cons It has a very short battery life so there are two options, charge it twice or put it on airplane mode for long stretches of time to make it a day. Also the storage sucks, it says 8gb but the reality is you have around 3-4gb, you can't even update the already Installed apps. Awful. It's slow as a turtle and it's so bad that i can't listen to music and browse at the same time because the phone crashes. I will never buy an HTC phone again. Pros It's a cheap and sturdy plastic phone and the only thing of quality is the screen, I've dropped on his face many times and it doesn't crack.

  • You can actually put over a 200gb micro sdxc or sdhc chip and in the settings you can combine the internal 8gb storage with the micro sd and lets say you have a 64gb sdhc card you can make your internal storage 72gb minus the android operating system and linux running behind that.

  • I got this phone and its awesome quit being cheap go buy a class 3 SD card and make it your internal memory I got 100gb of internal right now

  • I own this phone, I had it for a while now. I recommend this phone to people who are simple, cheap, and like 8 gigabytes.

  • Crap crap .I've had the phone less than a year. The battery is infected so even though my screen says I have 80% battery it goes dead at the 50% mark, just shuts off.Storage is awful. Purchased this through Cricket seems like I need a new phone every year.Never had this issue with T-Mobile.

  • I DO NOT recommend this phone! It all the time shuts off when I'm in the middle of doing something and it had crappy picture quality and very crappy storage! You can barely download anything at all! Don't buy this phone, it is not worth your time or money! I've had this phone for not even a year and it sucks.

  • It's not supported 4 g My network is idea

  • dose this phone have nfc?

  • Processor vise good cell. never hanged

  • I enjoyed using HTC phones. good quality camera.

  • This phone is garbage. I've had it for a little over a year, and it work okayish for the most part. It would randomly shut off when I was in the middle of doing something on it. Today I was on my snapchat and it shut off, when I turned it back on the sd card wouldn't read, no matter what I do I cannot get the SD card to work in this phone anymore. I've reset it and turned it off and on and everything that I could possibly do. Don't buy this phone. It is straight up garbage.

  • I cleared data too. But memory remains the same

  • It is terrible. The battery life is the worst though. Samsung galaxy battery life, with 3g performance.

  • This phone is a piece of shit. I would never recommend this type of phone to anyone, I would'nt even recommend it tp my wordt if i had one. Keeps knocking oyt stations gies to another page while texting, dails numbers whenever it wsnts to. I'll list to a station and all of a sudden it changes. Wtf, as soon as the after xmas sales start i will be out shopping for a better phone and services

  • Grouo texts stopped working over time. Horrible low light camera. Texts "don't download" sometiems, which makes it heard to receive some texts. Can only send and receive pictures and videos on WiFi! I got as 32GB card, but only certain apps can be moved to it! Otherwise, terrible space. Do not reccomend

  • Don't get this phone. It is a cheap phone, but thats all it is. It's cheap. I have had this phone for 10 months, and at the 5 month mark I wanted another phone. It has NO SPACE. It starts with 8GB, but half of that is used for the apps that come on the phone, like gmail, instagram, facebook, chrome, and a kids mode, which I don't even use. You have about 3.5GB or less to download what apps you want. The only apps I use is Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, WhatsApp, Spotify, InstaFit, and Messenger for Facebook. These are the only apps I have because THE PHONE HAS NO SPACE. AT ALL. I can't even update to the latest versions of any apps, even the ones that came on the phone, because there isnt 25MB left on the phone for the updates. I do not recommend this phone, and hopefully this helps other people with their decisions of buying this phone or not. I am 16, so I do a lot of things on phones, and this is not my favorite phone.

  • This phone has no space at all. do not buy unless you're someone who doesn't have a lot of apps. your music and pictures can go on an sd card, but the apps can not and take up so much space. you only really have about 3gb out of 8.00gb of space for your apps even with an sd card. the "system" takes up about 5gb of space. the camera isn't terrible, and the screen is really hard to break I've had mine for a year now dropped it idk how many times and just now cracked it. it didn't even shatter. I still would not recommend this phone. the battery is not good and the phone is pretty slow.

  • This phone is sucks, it says you have 8Gb of space but 5.5 are used for "system". You have like 1.8 real space and i cant do anything with that. If you say 8Gb, at leaste give something near that because now i cant do shit

  • I want to cancel SIM LOCk Lock

  • Do you have your whatsapp attached to your current phone number if so ur fine cause the only option is to take it into your phone carrier an they'll have to factory reset your phone for you

  • This phone sucks , it won't sinc my fitbit half the time and the Storage is frigging horrible even with a SD card, worst phone ever !!! I absolutely hate it!!

  • I've had this phone for almost a year and it randomly stopped working today. Was perfectly, completely fine before. Set it down for a few minutes and when i tried to unlock it the display was unresponsive. other than that its a good phone...

  • I have this phone... it's really really bad. Screen cracked without me dropping it, and with a case on... headphone jack doesn't work... slow AF... has an appealing look but nothing else to it in my opinion. There are better phones for less money out there if you look.

  • I am using HTC DESIRE 626S, the GPS can work without network, but it don't have compass.

  • my brother put a password on my cell i don,t know the password he put and i don,t want to lost my whatsup information and the pictures please help me .

  • HTC support is not good their call centre executives are very arrogant in tone. I repent on my decision of buying a HTC phone.

  • not really it acts wonky regardless of what it thinks it is doing, the volume skates up and down randomly, and it completely kills the headphones if you nudge it in the slightest, nothing infuriates me more than when my 626 quits playing music while im working in a good groove and it cuts off my music because the 3.5mm is a piece of crap

  • Google listening is always interrupting everytime I plug in my earpiece. This is seems to be consistent with all Metro PCS phones. I advise getting phones from different network and unlocking it. Just putting it out there

  • i place the sim card in the phone without a tray and now it is stuck , how can i get it out . please help

  • I DESPISE this phone! The battery lasts like five minutes, no matter what I do to try and prolong it. Even on standby, it eats the battery at an alarming rate! It's sluggish, the Swype screws up, it lags while typing, and it won't connect to my car for hands free. We actually did get it to connect a couple of times, but that was it and I'd used all my previous, obsolete phones with my car with NO problem. As soon as I can afford another phone, I will be using this one for target practice and I will never even consider an HTC again.

  • can you please help me i deleted some files mistkely now im unable to use wifi home - etc - wifi - all files please sent me that etc wifi folder files please [email protected]

  • I first thought it was a wonderful phone, but the charging port is killing me. I have to find many ways to try to make the charger work, which includes wrapping the cord around the phone. Also when typing, it's a bit slow so when I text, the keyboard just stops.

  • It's only so you can hear something when it's plugged in dude.

  • My HTC 626s always turns up the volume when using head phones for no reason

  • I bought this phone in May and used only one month. Display has gone. In Saudi arabia, no spare parts available and the agent refunded after one month running behind for it

  • I agree I hate this phone next month replacing it with a new iPhone. Have also noticed delays when trying to type it's a piece of crap.

  • the same as ever. it will last about 1.5 or 2 years before the capacity goes down and u have to change it in the service centre if u wanna keep the same phone of course

  • I'd like to know about these non-removable batteries. What's the life of them? How many times can you charge them over the life of the phone?

  • I absolutely love this phone, but the one thing that worries me is the charging port. When plugged in, the tip wiggles around a lot, is that a problem with all HTC phones, please tell me if so that would really help a lot, thank you

  • This phone is absolute garbage. Thought it was nice at first eoth a good HD display and a pretty big screen. After about 2 months it would randomly restart and it got worse. Started to do it more and then it would shut down and sometimes I couldn't get it on for about a half hour. After it would shut down and turn back on it would say "Optimizing apps x of xx. Which would take around 20 minutes. And now I am having an issue where none of the apps are working. They are always crashing. Camera quality also sucks. This phone is garbage, don't waste your money on it.

  • In my opinion if one is looking for a functional, non-luxurious, inexpensive phone; this phone will work great. However, with my experiences after about one month the phone began to act up, occasionally restarting randomly and my stock messaging app constantly crashing. Since then the issues have become more frequent and I have factory reset my phone about 4 times now trying to see if a fresh start will help. Not sure if I just got a bum phone but through what I've seen I 'd stay away from this phone.

  • Marshmallow update is awesome ,Vibration bug is also fixed in it :)

  • this is amazing mobile phone i upgrade marshallow beutifull android set i am enjoying great app music games and many more i love it htc amazing

  • Beautiful device. Feels good in the hand, charges fairly fast, amazing brightness and camera. I would recommend this phone to many people. The only bad thing about it, is the battery.

  • I have two years and for a well my kids use it just for games. And also I had for a well it was 5.1 but upgraded 6.1 it got better. The worse is the battery you got charge it up all the time.

  • Try turning airplane mode on wait a minute then turn it back off.this should shut down any apps that are running.game apps are really good for this.and they eat up a shit crap load of data.

  • Hello, today I took the leap from a Samsung S5 to this HTC Desire 626s. This phone does run android. In fact HTC has significantly less bloatware compared to the S series. It could just be that you are used to the UI of Samsung. Google's Nexus phone runs pure android and boy can those babies fly. Overall the phone is fantastic for my needs. Remember that is it a $59.99(USD) phone and the new Samsung S7 is over $600(USD). There are going to be gives in this trade especially in regards to RAM and CPU clock speeds. The 720p display does give out vibrant colors and looks exceptional. The audio however is sub-par when compared to the ever so popular HTC One series front-facing speakers.

  • This is a cheap imitation of an android phone. I can't pick new text message ringtones. The text tones the come with the phone are horribly generic and low. The same goes for the notifications for the calendar. The colors for the themes are boring. It doesn't allow for scheduling text messages. It is difficult to block undesirable calls. I could go on, but the point is that there is too much wrong with this phone for it to be worth the money.

  • Um.dug? You dropped it on the floor.

  • I'm having a battery issue iv had my phone since October 2015 and it just won't go in the right way and and I have to wiggle it over 50 mins to charge and it takes 5 days to charge I still have a warranty but they won't exchange it please help if you have had battery issue s

  • Yes it is upgradable I upgraded mine to marshmallow

  • If your phone restarts all the time I have to take it back and get another one that's what I did and if had my new one for about 3 months and it's great

  • If anyone wants to know how to get marshmallow on your htc desire 626s go to setting and go to software updates then click on it then you should find out theme rest easy and i love the htc desire 626s

  • I bought this phone last week. The design attracted me mostly, good display and configuration but battery drains so quick. I bought an HTC Incredible S five years ago that had the same problem. Now I realized HTC still could not work on battery performance. Whoever wants to buy this phone, get ready to charge it twice a day!

  • I love this cell phone. only thing i don't like about it is you have to turn on your mobile data to send and receive pictures.I know there are a few brands of phones that you can send and receive pictures without having data on at all. I wish htc desire 626s was one of them

  • The sound of My HTC desire 626 does not come after hitting on the floor

  • I tried to install an Micro SD card to act as internal storage. It turns out that one must have a top of the line UHS Class 3 card to act as internal storage. Otherwise you are only able to use slower cards (like class 4) as removable storage. Ever since the Android upgrade to Marshmallow 6.0.1, the phone is more responsive in most areas and has a few more features than prior to the upgrade.

  • It's not a bad phone, just have the do apps

  • Did you try to clear the data of your apps in the settings before you uninstalled them? That's what I do and I think it works.

  • Ive had 2 htc desire 626s in the lat month and both of them have just randomly shit out on me. Both times, i was just on the phones and they just turned off only to never turn back on or take any charge.

  • Try disabling apps that u don't need and u can save slot of space by getting rid of the facebook app and just use chrome keep messenger then see if you can move your apps to the SD card

  • I have the HTC desire 626s and the charger gets hot VERY QUICKLY so it effects the charger easily.

  • I found this phone in Target on clearance for $64.99, is it worth it?

  • I bought HTC desire 626 about 6 months ago and I installed only 4 apps, but now there is a message : insufficient storage....72.5 GB / 8.00 GB i deleted all 4 apps but storage is same as before : 72.5/8.00 I really don,t know which part of my cellphone consume this much space and how can i solve the issue. would you plz help me? I would be appreciated. [email protected]

  • Htc is one of the best cell maker's out there they will solve any prob anyone might have with them i got a lg i just got and im already going to buy me another htc! They take care of there people unlike all the other company's

  • I have the Marshmallow 6.0.1 update for about a week now. I have the Boost variant with the 1.5 GB of RAM and the Snapdragon 210 processor. I find that the phone overall is much quicker and more responsive. The added animations make it a nicer experience as well. The lag I was experiencing with the 5.1 OS has disappeared except on my I-Heart app, but even that one is a bit faster. I did get some more bloat ware I really do not intend to use like the Kids App, so I am left with about 2.0 GB of ROM as opposed to the 2.2 GB prior to the Marshmallow update. I chose to disable some of these new apps I will not use. The "Do not Disturb" enhancements are very welcome. I can set up rules and multiple times (and days) to have the phone automatically silent or vibrate. In the past, I was confined to one time slot on one to seven days only. I will continue to update as I use the 626s more.

  • Is the charger "hot" when you unplug it? I find that my charger provides 30%-35% charge per hour, so it takes about three hours for a full charge when the battery is at 0%. I have things turned off like the GPS, Wi-Fi, 4G, and some apps that I do not use.

  • The Htc 626s is a good looking phone but if everyone is comparing to lgk7 my opinion is thay the k7 is the better performer. The storage capcity is the same but the manuf.bloatware and the ability to altogether uninstall apps makes the Lg the better. Lg has the knock on and the screen shot feature in the app tray. It is louder with good call quality. Speaker phone is strong. Htc just looks impressive with the 2 speaker grill. I am down to 1.5gb of storage with same apps in lg 2.36gb. I think those who dont use apps will be impressed with this htc and dont care about speaker and overall level of volume. Lg is hands down the better! Really like htc but this one is a dud! Htc you can do way better! Several other phones out there cost less and 10xs better. Zte zmax 2 and even the lg phoenix 2. Both are under $80 and have 16gb storage 2gb ram and can be unlocked by att free of charge.

  • I just received my OTA update to Marshmallow, got the 6.0.1 version and so far it is more fluid. I will do a comprehensive review and update here. I have the Boost Mobile variant with 1.5 GB od RAM and the Snapdragon 210 processor. I added am 8 GB SD Card where I should be able to move some more of my apps to. I will advise.

  • I have the HTC Desire for almost a week. The storage is amazing, and you can expand it to 200 GB of storage. The camera is good, but something I don't like about the phone is the charging. I was up from 1 am to 4:30 am starting from 7% to 72%. Other than that, the phone is really good. The phone runs on 5.1 Android, (lollipop). The phone also has really good security. I give this phone a 4.6/5 stars

  • Boost (and Virgin Mobile) announced an OTA update to Marshmallow 6.0 on the 626s. Should have it in two or three weeks or so here in Central NJ.

  • This is the worst cell phone I ever had. I reboots 5 -6 times during the day. HTC keep blaming any application I could install on the phone but it is not the case. I followed the instructions they have to re-install the newest firmware, I did not installed any new app and still doing the same. HTC want me to send the phone back to them to get it fixed but it could take days. I will never recommend any HTC phone to anyone

  • I have the 626s for about five months now and I note the following: 1. The Boost Variant got an upgrade to the HTC Sense (7.0) where there is a few more options that there were prior to the update. 2. The 720 x 1280 display is good, but it is a battery drain when the screen is on for long periods of time. 3. The supplied ringtones are not that loud. I DL some off Zedge and it is a bit better. 4. The earpiece volume is good, especially on a "HD" call. 5. The earphone jack is sensitive, if you move the plug the audio is muted.

  • My wife's had it for almost a year with no "reboot" issues, ever. She plays games on it, texts, regulars calls, MMS, etc. and never had any issues with it. It's the one she has now and her only complaint is the battery dies faster than she likes, but she keeps Wi-Fi and other crap on constantly and these things drain the battery. Otherwise, she loves it, for the record. Just my two cents worth. :-)

  • Actually, the LG K7 is a really good phone (kinda lame screen resolution, considering) that is not as bad as your making it out to be. Specs wise, depending, it's on par with the 626s, i.e. better cameras, UI system, etc. point being, it's not really an "upgrade" to go from a K7 to a 626s. For the record, I have a K7 and my wife has a 626s. We've both compared the two and think both have pros and cons, but depending on what you use it for, they are basically equal. Just my opinion, not that it matters. :-)

  • agreeeeeeeddd!!

  • Hardware specs are gokd, it is built tough and reliable. Software and system setting on the other hand are a complete failure in terms of user freedom. It is literally impossible to set the default download space to an SD card unless an individual app allows the option, 8GB Memory, 4.8GB of which are taken up by "System Data" leaving you realistically with only about 2 Gigabytes of actual memory to use. 3 system apps for the same gallery function each taking up 100mb of extra space, etc, etc. This phone in my opinion is a flat 2/10. Worst purchase Ive made in 6 years. HTC is a huge mistake.

  • VERY DISAPPOINTED. The phone seems stripped down. i WAS WRONG, to assume this phone was as good as the htc i had in past. This is probably the last htc i will buy. I should have gottent the similar Samsung or LG. Disappointing photo editor. NO notes app. Calendar is unreadable to me. This is just from my first week. OH some stupid stuff, like time zone gsm near top on items in calendar. THIS IS DEFINATELY A STEP DOWN for me.

  • Anyone knows if HTC Desire 626S will get marshmallow update?

  • Gotta disagree with you on the battery for the HTC 626S. Mine will go 3 days easy. You probably have an app running in the background thats draining it.

  • you would rather have an lg leon than an htc desire 626s huh? I work for a cell phone provider that has the same unit as the leon but with a different name and my jaw about dropped when i saw that youd rather have a leon over the 626s. the leon is garbage. I know any other people associated with boost/sprint = leon, at&t/cricket wireless = risio, knows how superior the htc is. You speak from raw emotion instead of an informed position. Look it up bro, the Htc is far better

  • I practice keeping items such as the 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS turned off or on battery saver mode and I find that my battery usage runs me about 40%-50% Daily with moderate usage. Hope that this helps.

  • The battery on this phone is bad. In the morning it's at 100%, then at the end of the day it's at least 14% and i don't use it very much. I wish i had gotten the lg leon instead.

  • Why would you buy a htc phone from lg.?

  • I buy this phone one week and from lg. I really feel this phone is not so good for me and wish the company can make some change. Firstly,This is phone have a so tiny flash notify. I almost nevery see this tiny flash when drivering.i habe to chech my phone every 5minus self. It is so annoying compare with LG big flash notice.second, i feel this phone response so sleep when press any key,it is feel like something stick on screen. This is phone! i really hope it can response me quickly when i want to call or text someone. Even it have many other functions, it will be garbage except a good call function. Finally, this phone update so much defaultly.i almost believe engineers is kiding customers. Why do they make so many upgrade and i never feel any change on phone. maybe i this phone is so cheaper but if i can choise angain, i will not cuoise this phone. hope some engineers see this and make some changes.

  • I just upgraded through Metro PCS from an LG K7, and so far I absolutely love my HTC.I haven't had any crashing or freezing issues, the speakers aren't as loud as I'd like them to be but I mostly use headphones anyway. I recommend this phone to anyone. Of course, I upgraded from a pretty crappy phone, but I've always had galaxy notes. Even still I'm impressed with the HTC.

  • This phone has serious problems with "self-made" nano-sims. Even if you cut the cards with a machine, the phone will still not recognize it. "Native" nanos work.

  • Any you are a sad sack if you are willing to accept whatever crap is thrown at you.

  • This is the Worst phone I have ever owned since my last IPhone. First off, I have had this phone for nearly 2 weeks and there has not been a day it did not required an update...which leads to numerous reboots. making the phone a brick for the duration. When I do get to use it I have to spend my time deleting, stopped or otherwise weeding out the HTC crapware slowing the system down....and then...there is google. I hate crapple but google is a close second. Plug a headphone in google voice kicks on and shuts it off with any bump or headphone wire twist. Turn off all google voice settings and it still happens. It also randomly happens while ON the phone. This is an issue that HTC and google have known about for FIVE YEARS...but nothing is done. My options are to root the phone or....download a 3rd party app to fix what HTC and google are not willing to. Maybe I might like this phone.....if I could actually use it...let's see....yup...updating again! I've always used android but this is the worst phone I have ever seen...which is saying something...because...Crapple.

  • My phone keeps restarting all the time out of nowhere sucks

  • worst fun ever to load pictures from text and forward to friends. ugly.

  • I have had this 626s for a month now it works flawless just a few issues learning how to move pics to the SD card but if you disable some of the HTC useless apps it makes the phone alot faster and I'm playing hitman on it which is a high caliber game and the 1.5 RAM helps in this aspect input tempered glass and a case which gives it a solid feel strongly recommend this product

  • I bought this phone today, OS 5.01, from Walmart. I would like to know if upgradable to Android 6.0?

  • Thinking about buying this phone today. I have the Desire 510 and I love it but I need to fix the screen and it would be a lot cheaper to just get a new phone. I've read a lot of reviews saying the phone shuts down several times on its own. I'm not sure. But Cricket only has the 626s or 520 for sale as far as HTC phones under $100. I dunno

  • Read only memory

  • I prefer Htc desire 626 to samsung all model because of battery timing is good. So my all friends you should try to use HTC mobile

  • Right

  • Read-Only Memory

  • I bought the HTC Desire 626s (T-Mobile unlimited prepaid) within days of it being commercially available and I have never had any of the problems that some of you are experiencing. Sure it's not an iPhone or a Samsung but it gets the same job done (if I could root my device without bricking it I would) because I actively avoid frivolous apps. Moreover, in addition to installing a 64Gb SD card I installed GroVe IP (WiFi capable when I'm on the NYC Subway) which serves as an additional phone number for annoying pest. I also have Microsoft Office Mobile, two antivirus apps (Lookout, and 360 Security) 360 Security does a fantastic job keeping thing running smoothly -- Lookout is my backup A/V app, tTorrent because I can pirate movies, and music via public WiFi while on the go, VLC because it's the best media player out there (IMHO), TRULY Smart Device which links to my DZ09 (Samsung Gear 2 knockoff) smartwatch, Evernote Premium 7.7 for my digital work space, and my Google account wraps everything up nice and neat. And, sure I have Galaxy Legend, Maze Runner, Scorch Trials, and Space Fort to kill idle time. In a nutshell my HTC Desire 626s growls like a '66 Shelby GT350.

  • I don't think it matters how much we paid for the phone it should not continuously restart itself out of no where.

  • If the phone is rooted then you will be able to install apps on SD card

  • Never had a issue with my desire once. I honestly feel that people pay all this money for iphone and too be honest I can do the same crap with this cheaper phone that can be done with a apple phone or a samsung galaxy and so on. People spend more time playing Oh I got too have this expensive over priced phone that will out date in matter of months when the next hottest thing comes out. Your taking phone calls and sending a text why piss away good money.

  • I have never had any issues with my desire 626s...far as headphones go there are no specific headphones its a 3.5 mm jack. I use Samsung headphones never had a issue. I don't know what people expect for $120.00 but I have been nothing more then satisfied with my phone since I bought it 4 months ago. Too me the only downfall is your stuck with i think its 8gb memory and some things you simply can't store too the added memory card but not been a problem for me. People who feel the need too load up there phones with apps like they running a desktop pc baffle me because half the apps people install they use once or twice and just leave them there.

  • In under a week,my HTC desire whatever has automatically shut down out of nowhere on multiple occasions. I do NOT recommend this phone people, it's very easy to tell that it's a budget phone

  • what you expect for $ 120 - ( Mercedes AMG ) and you paid so cheap now you want iphone which costs 5 times as much ..?

  • I purchased the HTC desire 626s phone for my boyfriend & I about six months ago & he hates it. He's always complaining about different things. First off, you need specific headphones for the phone. At first we didn't know so when we used regular headphones and our phone would crash or cut off what were watching & go to the internet or turn the volume up louder or lower. The phone basically has a mind of its own. His phone crashes now with or without headphones. I asked him if he dropped his phone, he said no. So.. That's weird. My speakers went out randomly & the phones aren't loud on the highest volume at all. The camera sucks. I rarely take any pictures anymore because the camera makes me look yellow. The camera lenses aren't clear. The phone doesn't hold much space for a bunch of Apps. Also, there are two speakers on the phone. There both located on the front (top) of the phone.Only one of the speakers work while watching media & the other one works only for making calls so I'm guessing that's why the volume is so low when I'm listening to music or watching a movie. The phone doesn't hold a battery at all. Our phones die at least 4 times a day. Something that's good about the phone is the size. I like the size of the screen but I'm really considering the new iPhone. This phone sucks. I payed $120 each. I don't think it's worth that much. Before these phones, we had the galaxy avant. Loved it! Everything about the Avant is the opposite if this phone except the screen being a little smaller & of course the camera sucks but its truly a great phon . The Avant. Earlie I mentioned needing specific headphones for the htc desire 626s, yeah, you need headphones with a mic in it. They can be found all over. I bought mine from CVS for 20 bucks. Anyways I hope this helps.

  • You need to buy the wallet cover that you can slide upwards and slides the phome up exposing the camera clear off the cover. That way there's no glare from the cover as you are taking the picture. I've had this happen to me as well.

  • I bought HTC626 Desire about one month ago. I also purchased a phone cover separately. Every time I take a picture, the colour of the phone cover reflects on to the picture which I have just taken. How do I stop colour of phone cover reflecting PLEASE. ?

  • I just bought a purple cover for my HTC 626 Desire. Every time I take a picture , the pictures keeps coming out all purple. What can I do. It spoiling my photographs

  • I've owned my HTC 626s for about a month now I purchased it because I damaged my HTC 816 and it was all I could find fast in my area, but so far it been OK meaning no problems. Believe me it's not the phone my 816 was but it is a good phone for the price. I noticed a number of you have been experiencing freeze up problems but I haven't seen that with mine.

  • Read-Only Memory, every device has some ROM these days it often stores firmware and parts of the O.S. for recovery purposes

  • Its ram not rom... what is rom?

  • T-Mobile version is ugly. Why a Carousel Reddish Orangeish Pinkish accent mixed with Grey? With a Blue, Silver or Black accent, you would have had me.

  • I agree with your review. I also have the boost phone and only paid $86 after tax for it. I did a phone upgrade cause I had the desire 510 and after all the update and such I couldn't no longer do any updates or download apps. I feel like its a good deal for the price and I have the model with 1.5 ram and 8gb rom as well. I guess you only have the 4gb rom? I do have problems with the phone freezing or restarting but only like once a day and sometimes it doesn't happen at all. I send a crash report but if I had to suspect it's probably has a lot to do with Google's new phone version lollipop. I wish google would figure it out and quit doing a new release so fast.

  • I've had the HTC desire for 3 weeks....I have to restart it at least four times a day, if not more, just to send a text message. It is constantly saying I don't have service even though I have full bars. Worst phone I've ever owned. I will never own an HTC again.

  • horrible phone, like the look and feel but constantly shuts off, blue line, speaker phone not good, i give it a 1...this phone is horrible, wish it wasn't

  • My Fiance bought me the Htc desire, not even two full days ago. Within the past 30 minutes my phone has crashed 4 times; the last was accompanied by an ear piercing beep that lasted for a minute. It's never been dropped plus Ive only downloaded one app so far and I receive a "Memory storage full" memo. So far im not pleased with this phone at all, my little Lg net 10 phone is so much better never had one technical issue with it and that thing has been dropped several times.

  • I got this phone after Christmas 2015 and it wouldnt turn on after a month of having it...I returned it and got another htc desire 626s...i started reading reviews on it and most of the reviews said the phone stopped working after a month....so i gave this new phone another try and its now been a month and it shut off and will not turn on again....long story short dont buy this phone!

  • I sympathize with your issue of memory. I chose to "disable" those unmovable apps to help the situation. I had to turn off the app notifications to avoid update warnings for the apps like Google Drive.

  • Some apps can be placed on the sd card but not all. To find out which can you have to go to apps in settings and when you open one of your downloaded apps check to see if the word move is in bold print. If it is, click on it and it will ask you if you want to move the app to the sd card. If the word move is not lit up you can't move it to the sd card.

  • you had a virus from an app you downloaded happens with androids all u have to do is remove the app with the virus and its gone

  • i had galaxy s6 edge and the battery drained in less then 1 hour going from that to this i am happy i love the battery on the htc and i never used many apps so the internal storage isnt a huge thing for me so i am happy with my purchese and the reason i went from the galaxy s6 edge was cuz tmobile locked the imei and i sold it to walmart for 150 and the htc wasnt the cheapeset and didnt break as easyile as the other cheap phone so good purchese in total i love the phone so phone

  • The only issue which is major for me having this phone is pop ups from Google store whenever I try to do anything with my phone I'm constantly having pop ups, I can be in the middle of texting, dialing out or, watching TV on my phone and bam a pop up. I never experienced this with no other brand phones except for this one, my opinion as soon as I pay thus phone off I am getting a phone that is not HTC

  • If your through at&t they will upgrade your memory storage from 16GB-32GB memory storage. SD card is only for downloading music or videos nothing else.

  • I've had mine since Jan.1st... I really like the phone alot. However, if I could get them to change anything it would be the battery & internal storage. The battery doesn't last very long at all & it has 8g internal storage, I have 16g SD card in it. I'm constantly running low on space, yet you can't move apps to SD card.

  • I've had my HTC Desire 626s (MetroPCS variant) and I have 2 big issues for me about this phone... 1 issue I feel like HTC could have EASILY fixed when making the phone... Issue 1: Battery... Dear god, this battery drains... I am currently a high school student, and the most I use this phone for during the day is texting/messaging through Kik Messenger... I hit 50% in 2 hours of use... I understand, this phone is considered a budget phone... but for me personally, who is an avid user of his/her phone.. This battery doesn't do it for me. Issue 2: (The one they can fix...) Storage. Storage concept on this phone is the DUMBEST concept ever conceived... I got the 8gb version (don't know if it varies, not looking at it right now) and I have a 16gb microSD card inside... Yet you can't put apps on the SD card... Where is the logic in have an expandable storage slot if you CAN'T FULLY UTILIZE IT? I tried looking up a way to put apps on the SD card, but I couldn't find anything... Urrrggghhhhh.... ((Side Note: this is the memory used by my phone: 7.86gb/8gb used Applications: 2.9gb Music: 47.26mb Photos & Video: 143mb Downloads: 1.80mb System & Other(I DO NOT EFFECT THIS MEMORY): 4.75gb So, basically, you buy the phone thinking the 8gbs are yours, but really u get 3.25gb to use for personal use.)) Of these 2 issues, I can handle the battery draining... But the storage? I have to CONSTANTLY delete apps to download new ones, and not even large apps. Just a few social media apps (Like SnapChat, Instagram, Twitter), messenger apps (FB Messenger, Kik, Skype) and 2 video apps (Netflix, Youtube) and my storage is full... Can't download ANYTHING on this thing. Pretty damn good budget phone, not for me.

  • When I made my review, I should have input the correct resolution of 720 x 1280 with a 294 ppi.

  • Ya I was having this having as well, to fix just unlock the phone and access is granted on the PC

  • I don't have this particular phone but with my old HTC Desire you had to change the PC connection in settings. You need to change the default from "charge only" to "Disk Drive"

  • I initially chose one of these over a Samsung Galaxy grand prime (one of 3 budget phones my carrier supplies). This phone has a nicer, higher-resolution screen, A7 vs A5 processor, is lighter, thinner and way better looking -- and has a more attractive default theme to boot. Then after trying two of them (new, right out of box) in 2 days I took it back and went with the "inferior" Samsung. Why? The Desire crashes ... often and randomly when using it (I'm not sure if there is a pattern, but I think it happens most during or after playing video). It's been nearly a year -- no fixes or updates from HTC on a problem they *could not possibly have missed* at the release date. I suspect they'll never bother, and this is a deal breaker. The audio is also a bit too quiet. The Samsung is rock stable and a has a few usability additions such as the ability to easily close applications individually, and a somewhat more spaced out on-screen keyboard, which hints of more thought and testing. The Samsung isn't as good a phone hardware-wise (although it does look less fragile), but the stability (not to mention more care in setting up the operating system) makes it better bet in my world.

  • Just purchased the phone 3 days ago, Considering the price I'm happy with the phone! I understand it's not a $500.00 phone. Bottom line so far so good! The pic. quality complaints seem a little far fetched to me, However I think the flashlight app. is excellent!

  • I have had the 626s for a month now. I am pleased for the most part. I will first comment on the speakerphone. The audio and volume on the speakerphone are lower than normal, I can barely hear it even in a quiet room. The earpiece audio is pretty good especially on an HD call. The HD display (720 X 1080) with the 294 ppi is quite sharp and vibrant. It really makes my weather apps like radar look real crisp. The colors are nice as well. HTC has it labeled as a Super LCD screen. I wish there was Gorilla Glass on it. I opted on a shatter proof screen protector and a hard shell case. The 1.5 GB of RAM really makes the phone snappy. I would of liked to see something better than the Snapdragon 210 processor, like the 410. But it seems to handle my apps very smoothly with hardly any lag. Being that this is the Boost Mobile variant, there was a lot of bloat ware. They advertise 3.5 GB of user ROM, but in reality it is about 2 GB once I disabled all the non-installable apps and added the few apps (about 10) that I installed. The cameras are not bad. The rear 8 MP is decent, a bit grainy though. The front 2 MP is fair and does what I need it to. The auto focus could be better, but like another reviewer pointed out, this is not a $600.00 phone. The battery when the phone is on standby in a strong signal area lasts longer than I expected. When I have the HD screen on long, I notice the battery will drain rapidly. I also keep the 4G, GPS, and Wi-Fi off to help conserve battery life. For the most part, I use 40%-50% battery daily which I feel is better than average for the HD screen it has. I hope someone can benefit from my review. I welcome any feedback.

  • Turn on your screen and you will see a notification on your screen something like mttp click it and then you will be able to transfer songs

  • It's a very good phone for the price. To everyone cursing it: please be realistic as this is not a $600 phone, so do not expect it to perform as the best of the best. For movies use h.264 up to 720 at 30 fpm, lower for 1080. Do not expect a smooth play of .mkv weighing 10+ Gb. Kill the apps for longer battery life. The camera is not RED dragon but very usable, given that your hands are not shaking. The wifi at 30 feet behind a wall, 2.4GHz n with 10 strong signal networks on the channel gives about 30 mbps, which is just fine. Good job HTC solid and not expensive enough to be afraid to loose the freaking thing.

  • Change the cables. You need data cable. Google it.

  • I purchased HTC 626 desire 6 months back. I do not know how to copy songs from the computer through cable. Whenever I connect my phone to my laptop it is only charging and I cannot enter into my phone through PC.

  • Dude, the top one is the speaker so that you can hear the person that calls you...

  • I just purchased the phone about a month ago and my phone is doing the same exact thing you described. I haven't dropped it or anything. I will definitely be contacting HTC to see what they can do. It has to be a manufacturer's defect.

  • This phone is the worst phone I have ever had, my previous phone was a 100 times better !!!! You never even responded to previous emails. I am returning this phone to you as it is so disfunctionl !! I will tell people this is totally not the phone or service to purchase... CRAP PHONE 💩💩💩&#128169;

  • I hate this phone, my previous phone was better by far. I'm an intelligennt person and this phone SUCKS !!!!!

  • My front camera totally turbid ?? Please tell me solutions???

  • I can't get my PHONE to work after I rest it and no power it's from Walmart it is the HTC desire 626s can any one help me 😭😭😭&#128557;

  • Nice phone for a low price

  • I'm having the same issue. Going to metro after work to see what I can do. I just bought this phone yesterday.

  • i want to say i went to metro i got the htc 626s i love this phone had the htc 510 from cricket ported to metro love metro unlimited data cricket does not have that and there service people are so rude iam glad i made the switch

  • I purchased the 626s from Boost Mobile. I feel the display of 720 X 1080 HD is pretty good, though I do notice the battery drains quickly if the screen is kept on too long. The standby time on the 2000Mah Battery is excellent. I turn off the 4G, Wi-Fi, GPS, and etc. which only cost me 15% of may battery in a 24 hour span with light usage. The earpiece audio is fair. I think it should be a bit louder for outdoor use. I have not tried the speakerphone yet, I will follow up. The ringtones could be a bit louder as well. I recommend a screen protector and case. I will follow up with a comprehensive review in a week or two.

  • I'm also having problems with HTC assistance! I've had HTC phones for a while and decided to switch to the desire. Almost immediately the phone wasn't responding on certain places and seriously lagging. I'm very dissatisfied and disappointed in HTC

  • Actually it looks like there are two speakers on the face side of the phone, when the truth is there is only one speaker and it is located on the bottom. The two "grill" like features are just symmetrical visually matching designs. When I am watching videos(which should be in stereo) only bottom of phone is outputting sound. I do not believe this is to be a defect, rather a cheap manufacturer shortcut robbing us of enjoyable stereo sound. I spoke with someone who has actually taken apart the phone to confirm this.

  • the battery is not even close to what they say.15 hrs talk time they really made me laugh hahaha the yoke was on me

  • Horrible sound. Salesrep said it was stereo and I didn't make sure of it.too bad, besides the sound ain't good at all.

  • The speakers on this phone r horrible!! I thought that having 2 speakers would be great but only one side works at a time. Also, you can't put YouTube on speaker and hence the volume is towards the ear piece. Which means in order to watch YouTube videos u have to hold the phone by your ear as if you are talking to someone on the phone. Very very user unfriendly!

  • Same exact thing for me I HATE IT

  • I have my alarm set for 6:45 am to wake my son up for school, naturally I put it charging before I go to sleep and it's at 100% when the alarm goes off. Now I get out of bed and take the phone with me by 7:20 it's at 90% and I hardly even use it that much because I'm getting my son ready, for me the battery is the worst ever, storage sucks, camera is terrible in my opinion, from coning from an iPhone 5s to this I hate it honestly. Does this happen to other users

  • Moto G A 620 user.

  • I agree Jo I haven't had any problems with it other than what I have had with Samsung Galaxy 2,3,4,5 not enough memory but got a SD card so it's no problem!

  • i purchased the htc desire a week ago it freezes constantly shuts off by it self has blue lines down the screen and beeps loudly this phone hasn't been dropped wasn't used for the first 3 days as my daughter was in canada have taken the phone back to metro pcs was told to contact htc no one is willing to help us i would never buy htc phone and i will let peopele know not to waste their money

  • only for htc one

  • Check with HTC they have an Oh No policy or something like that for one replacement of screen per device.

  • I've had this phone for a few months now through Metro PCS. I'm still using it, only because I can't afford a new one. The phone doesn't have enough memory, so you have to have a SD card. The speaker is not loud at all. After a few weeks of having it, people couldn't hear me when I used speaker phone. The metro website says this phone is made with gorilla glass, clearly isn't. Dropped my phone out of my friends car, about 18" to about 2' from the ground. Screen is now shattered. My recommendation is get this phone only if you need a cheap phone with an OK size screen. Other than that, don't waste your time or money.

  • Speakers are at top and bottom on front of phone. Top button on right side (front of phone) increases volume

  • Hey seriously, this phone was mad loud when I first got it, now I can barely hear a video. Does anyone know what causes this and how does one solve it? Also what is that DOT view thing and how can I see it? This is my first android device, I used to have an iPhone 4 as my first smart device, I'm clearly not tech savvy. However any well guided help will do. Thanks!

  • Does anyone know how to make the audio louder or if the speaker is in the front?? Besides that I love this phone

  • Tris HTC phone tells have 8gbs only has 3gbs in storage

  • I needed cheap phone that works and looks pretty good. Ive got this phone 3month ago, t mobile no cintract, and paid about 150.00incusding tax and everything. Its not like OUTSTANDING but it looks and works pretty nice. But if you want a premium, best phone in the world, this is not your phone. It glitch once in a while but not much to bother me. I'm pretty satisfied with 1.5gb ram, and O the BATTERY!! lasts pretty long so its wonderful

  • I actually had this phone and it IS pretty bad. I love HTC and all their devices, but this phone sucks. It doesn't even have boomsound audio.

  • This phone actually does have FM radio. I used to have it. It's sort of sucky, but it works.

  • woooow............... ists nice phone but ram is cheap

  • damn you all people this phone is great you guys just dropped it really hard and cuz your mad you don't want other people to get the phone are you trying to ruin htc reputation and also I saw the htc one m8 at koodo for 360 dollars no contract with contract 0 dollar

  • Try deleting the Bluetooth history hope it helps out

  • Camera takes a bit of getting used to, but it takes 'okay' pics - nothing outstanding! This is definitely an entry-level phone from HTC and has made a gr8 second phone. I'm just waiting for something really NEW from HTC and this will be passed on to one of the kids!!

  • How's the camera

  • How's the camera

  • i was trying to replace the digitizer but i could not open the phone i take off the screen and digitizer from front side but i could not open from the back, only i could take off the primary cover from the back but after took off all screws but i cannot remove the inside cover from the mid frame please help me or give the video thanks,it is htc desire 626s phone

  • Is it hangs by hard core use ??? .... Please reply...

  • i love this phone.

  • Can anyone tell me is it hangs and what about the camera ?

  • frnds plz tell who is the best 620 or 626/

  • As soon as I take mine off the charger is loses battery, even while charging! I hate it. It hasn't even been off the charger (was at 100) for an hour and bow it's at 73. It's ridiculous

  • I have had this phone over a month and I love it. Fast snap dragon chooser and processor. Lollipop software is great and has the phone running smooth and responsive. As others have mentioned

  • Ihave this phone for only a week so far I have no complains got all my apps emails I'm happy with it so far nobody knows the future Good luck to all.

  • Report that store to BBB, not acceptable from what I've read its very common with this phone.

  • Thank you!! I thought I was being overly picky about grammer but now I see that it's not just me LOL

  • Htc desire 626s totally a piece of shit, I only had it for 4 days and the screen went all black??? Hate it

  • I am struggling with this phone. The font wont seem to change and when I try to connect to my Alpine stereo it say I have an invalid passkey???

  • Very good phone. Crisp display, but a little less bezel would have made it even better.

  • What do you like about this phone. is it a good phone. do all the features work well.

  • WOW! What language are you folks trying to write in?

  • It helps going back to the store where you purchased the same exact phone. I, for one, have the same phone and its been great ever since I factory reset it. The condition my phone came in was so bad, I needed to factory reset, and to my surprise, it was waaaaayyyy better than how the phone came in. With the buyer remorse law since it is under 14 days, you can exchange it for a new one. I don't see why not.

  • I bought one 7 days ago. At day 6, it stopped working. Black screen, no picture. I went to the store and told me I broke it and wasn't going to replace it. Per manufacturer, I'm entitle to a refund or exchange under the buyer remorse law. The store manager didn't care about that. She still insisted that I dropped it and I needed to deal with the manufacturer. Manufacturer can't replace it but repair it, per warranty. I'm so frustrated now and regreted buying this phone. Any comments? I'm planning to file a complaint with the BBB regarding the store's sales policy..

  • agree with those geniuses that return the phone because of a camera I always say to people who talk about cameras being important on cell phones what are you a a photojournalist for National Geographic a cameraman for network a wedding photographer get a grip just use your phone and get on with your life! hahaha

  • Hi galaxy grand prime is worst phone. By using grand prime, I have finally decided to leave android. Grand prime hangs alllllloooooooooot.

  • I got the HTC 626s nd it's a really good phone I love it nd yes it's way better than the prime

  • Can anyone tell me which phone is better to buy HTC Desire 626s or Samsung Grand Prime.

  • camera is worst

  • for sure the camera sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Really ?Its not a compass , but GPS apps rely on and it has GPS. Get a clue..........

  • You're pathetic if you have to return a phone because of the camera!

  • The camera sucks. Will return it.

  • Doesn't have compass ! Many apps won't work properly because of that . . .

  • this phone is wonderfull fantastic i dont have words for it i have iphone5s first i sell it and i buy this phone this is fantastic charging 60% in 30min amazing fast as leopard speed my sugesstion is buy this phone htc desire 626s dont focus on these bad comments about it phone so u use it like human and then watch how much time it will give service my advice buy it fast

  • Just picked this phone up... switched from cricket i kinda like it it was a good sale also

  • the incall volume is too low even when maxed out. the same for the not so loudspeaker.

  • I just got it yesterday and I'm having some issues with it for example when ever I watch a video the volume randomly shoots up to max. The google voice search will randomly start up when I'm wearing headphones and even when I'm not and not even touching the phone it will randomly start up. The music player is nice but I won't play music properly for example every song the music will stop for a second and continue. Also when I place an app on the home page it will sometimes randomly disappear is this happening to anyone else? Should I go back to the store and tell me the issues in having or will they even care? I didn't get any insurance for it

  • Go back to the store where u purchased it, because my battery last all day...

  • This phone is not cut out for me. The battery outrageously dies fast within 4 hours or so. And I barely bought it July 26, 2015. A week after it came out. I was not partly surprise though. THIs known for a short battery lifespan anyways.

  • How is the GPS working? any comments? Thanks.

  • I got to play around with this phone quite a bit. For the price it is a great phone I believe. Built for someone who doesn't need all the bells and whistles but still has some cool feature that its M9 big brother has.

  • just bought this for my son today, T-Mobile version actually has 1.5Gb ram, and for a sub-$200 phone, it's great.

  • 1gb ram....wow! No need to look further, this is already a failure.

  • Junk specs, soon to be followed by flagship pricing

  • Good phone low price

  • SD 210?? HTC gone bonkers or what?

  • Cherry Mobile Alpha Luxe (Windows Phone 8.1, upgradeable to Windows 10 Mobile) is better than this for $100 ^_^ But this phone is available in the Philippines.

  • It's going to be a cheap phone (about 130$ on sprint) so It's acceptable specs except the so low cpu speed even for a quad-core

  • Too low, ram and storage capacity

  • Because this is going to be a cheaper phone. It's not a flagship model. You may also notice that the screen is 720p. It might be good, if you want a phone for talking with and have a handy camera, but it's not a flagship model.

  • 2000 mAh for a 5.0" screen, why? what sensors?

  • Ram 1.5 gb why?
