HTC J - User Reviews

  • I was in a similar predicament :/ I completely love this phone in every way, except that the battery started to drain itself and then it would just shut itself off if I used any battery-intensive app like the camera or games, or even just keeping the screen on. When turned back on, it would show a sudden 20% drop in battery level. Really a shame since my battery would last, like, 2 solid days of moderate use, and even 5 days of light use on a single charge. Haven't heard of any other phone that can beat this. Anyway, here's what I tried. I bought a new battery, and that actually resolved all my issues...for a while. One day it just died. However, the battery I had bought was an aftermarket 1950 mAh battery (doubt there was much quality control), so it wasn't the 1810 mAh one that comes from the OEM, so maybe if you try to buy a bona fide HTC Z321E battery, you'll have more luck.

  • I also cracked my screen before. I chose to replace it myself by buying the screen and digitizer assembly. You can choose to just replace just the LCD screen, but I wouldn't recommend it. I actually tried that first, and broke the digitizer while chipping away at the broken screen...the digitizer is incredibly fragile. The screen+digitizer assembly is available on amazon, ebay, etc... if you search "HTC Z321E digitizer". Here's an example Look up instructions for how to replace the screen and digitizer on Youtube. You won't find any instruction for this phone specifically, but the other HTC phones are fairly similar. Just remember to have a hair dryer handy to loosen the adhesive, and buy some extra adhesive to stick on the new screen.

  • I've always been a fan of HTC phones but my current phone keeps on restarting . My battery overheats and my phone will malfunction What to do ?

  • my Phones glass was craked and im searching for glass but its not there in any telemarkets. plz help me guyz

  • Guyz plz anyone tell me camera clarity about this phone.

  • Very solid phone indeed. But I have a problem. My phone number is hidden every time I call and I can't change it. Any ideas?

  • i using this phn but phn disply broke down... i cant found phn disply. pls help me how i will get disply of this phn.

  • I have this phone. Pro's ===== ** Bang for buck 1.5GHz Dual Core processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage is quite generous ** Size 4.3 Inch screen is I think the sweet spot for screens anythng bigger you need to use two hands to use the phone all the time. Con's ===== ** 3G Yes the phone has HSDPA 2100 that's it, which means if your Telco provider broadcasts on HSDPA 850, 1900 etc your pretty much stuffed, 3G works but not very reliably on this phone, don't bother setting it up as a wireless hotspot because it just won't work, I'm guessing if you country exclusively uses HSDPA 2100 your laughing. ** Build quality Poor is the best word to describe this. It has tight fitting plastic caps for both USB and Headphone input, which are both difficult to remove and get in the way when you try to insert both the headphones and Micro USB cable. To gain access to the battery, SIM and memory card you need to remove the back cover, which is a real pain in the bum as the phone has a cheap plastic frame which breaks very easily when you try to remove the back cover. ** CPU It uses an outdated ARM CPU this hardware has caused software compatibility issues as most smart phones use the snap dragon CPU chipset combination these days. ** Shiny plastic The phone has a shiny plastic body when you have sweaty hands basically the phone turns into a bar of soap, needless to say the phone gets dropped from time to time. Overall ======= When I was thinking about purchasing a new phone, I was debating whether to get the Motorola Razr M or i. In the end what swung my decision was that I was on a trip to Taiwan where the HTC phones are made and could get this phone significantly cheaper than the motorola, in hindsight Motorola would have been the better purchase. Already eyeing up my next phone Sony Xperia Z1 f, looks pretty good, hopefully it's far better than the HTC J.

  • Like I said, respect the site so cant give the URL. But the company is in HK called Plemix. Paid 412.00Eur with discount codes including shipping and eventually the Sales Tax in France. I looked at the site today and see the price is up with about 30.00Eur. REMEMBER ONE THING, HTC POLICY ON WARANTY, ITS ONLY VALID IN THE REGION THAT IT IS LAUNCHED (Japan, HK, etc).

  • Which Website mate... how much did u paid??

  • I'm originally from ZA. It is currently released only in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and possibly Philippines. Could be available in Europe near the middle of 2013, WITH SOME CHANGES. But check my earlier post below about this phone. I searched and found a site that provides it unlocked/English that sells on-line. As I respect the rules of this site, I can't give you a URL for the site in HK where I purchased mine from.

  • Yahooooo! I LOVE MY "J". Had a HD2 Leo for 3-years running android, but decided to treat myself for my birthday. Ordered the HTC J Z321e on-line after extensive research on this site (thanx GSM ARENA for the help) for several weeks. Got it one day before my birthday and I can tell everybody (if they care or not) THAT THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST HTC Mid-range phones on the market and I have had a ball this past week. AND YES! it is waterproof! I was skiing everyday in all the worst possible conditions and no sign of moisture inside the phone. Had no protection because I did not have time to go look for a cover after receiving it. SO, TO ANSWER A COMMON QUESTION!! IT IS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE IF YOUR COUNTRY WILL ALLOW YOU TO ORDER ON-LINE AND RECEIVE IT WITHOUT RESTRICTIONS OR RED TAPE. I currently live in France, ordered it from Hong Kong, (very good price) and only paid the VAT/Sales Tax required by France to get it in the country. UNLOCKED, NO NETWORK RESTRICTIONS, SEALED IN ITS BOX BRAND NEW. And everything working fantastically. 3G, WiFi, WiMax, E V E R Y T H I N G! So what more, I can go on and on but each guy must experience the phone in their own unique way and decide for them self, I just gave my little-bit as an Android junkie. JUST REMEMBER IF U DO ORDER, MAKE SURE WHAT YOU ORDER AND WILL GET!!! Don't blame the phone!

  • how much will it cost in kenya? and if i want to order 1, what will be my total cost?

  • Guys is this phone avaliable in south africa if so where and how much plz tel me

  • does this phone available in philippines???

  • is this avaliable in the uk and if yes does anyone know where i can get it from and any way i can download radio

  • its a great phone

  • Is this phone available in India...???? If it is when..... or I should go for HTC one s

  • Not really. We've had 3D phones which has dual-cameras. Both in the back. To capture 3D images.

  • "Dual camera front/rear" that's like saying I have two sons, both are boys, lol :D

  • what's the GPU?

  • can someone tell how much this phone cost?

  • I own this phone and have had it for a few months now...it's amazing! I absolutely love it. Dual camera, front/rear/.

  • Secondary : Yes, 1.3 MP, 720p. Just read mate, read.

  • yes it has both camaras

  • yes dude...

  • does it have a dual camera front and back?

  • It has FM radio (for Asia version). The spec above is incorrect.

  • no radio??? damn

  • Is this a dual sim phone? GSM + CDMA?

  • go to www.plemix.com $530.00 US Dollar

  • that's an exellent phone

  • How Much of this HTC J Mobile?

  • is htc j will be available in philippines?

  • it's nice phone?

  • yes i want buy this cell when it will aval in india

  • hey!!!!!!!!!!! pls launch it in India as fast as Possible i really want to Purchase this Phone ... but under affordable price of under 25,000.... it would bee the best phone at this price and can easily beat up every phone in just a sec.....

  • general processor unit

  • Finally, at least 2 good 2012 phones from HTC (this one and Desire X). I thought HTC died after Rezound.

  • I simply don't get it why HTC uses names which are subtle HTC J & HTC J butterfly. At least they could have expunged the J and leave it as Butterfly. HTC for life...

  • enlightenment.. the following link is htc J Butterfly..

  • This one is not HTC J Butterfly, HTC J butterfly is 5 inch display and higher spec phone.

  • This is the HTC J not the HTC J butterfly ..

  • thats htc j butterfly

  • this is the HTC J, not the HTC J Butterfly. Big difference. Didn't you notice this one was announced in mid 2012, has a 4.3 inch screen and is only dual core among other things?

  • 440 ppi or 256??????

  • WTH. This phone is a stupid idea! Why I would pay much more if I can get One S with very similar specs? Yes it has MicroSD, but SD card slot don't worth 100+ EUR. It's even pricier than the One X --"

  • no fm radio

  • it's very nice...loved it..

  • smart n super

  • I love it so mcuh

  • Already available in Hong Kong for a week. This phone is retailing for HK$4,500, as compare to the HTC One X price of HK$5,000 ... 10% price difference only! For a phone with only 4.3" screen, and everything inferior to the HTC One X, the asking price is too high, no wonder this HTC J is not selling! Electronic store sales was telling me that for approx. the same price, most customers rather pick the LG top of the line 4X HD (although I'm not at all impressed with the 4X HD - I own it). Anyone who can afford to shell out a bit more money will mostly go for the Samsung GS3, or iPhone 5, or maybe the HTC One X instead of this HTC J. If this phone is selling for below HK$4,000, I believe HTC J can sell in much bigger volume. BTW, HTC J definitely come with a radio.

  • It's single SIM support gsm, cdma, 3g & wimax. It's also on sale in Taiwan & Hong kong.

  • front side black & backside white then nice colors combination..

  • its japan only phone, not international...

  • Is this dual active on GSM and CDMA like the Desire VC ?

  • Where is its GPU??? If there is no GPU then what a joke this is !!

  • very nice phone............ i think its price will be lower

  • this is what we all being waiting for super cool

  • A high-end dual core brick with no GPU?? Don't bullshit me, Carl!

  • Ah, no radio!

  • i think it'll b a great android phone. all in here is what we want.

  • When it will be available in India ,Man awesome phone.
