I am experiencing some network problems. Sometimes the network just disappears and when I try to call my own number, it says number unreachable. Sometimes, signal bars are low and sometimes they are full even if i am not changing my location at all. Worth noting point is that even if the phone shows full signal, sometimes the caller still gets 'number unreachable'. Kindly help. It's still in warranty. Any help would be appreciated. Very long battery life (around a week on average) but sacrifices on speed. Underpowered at 200 MHz. Some difficulty in media. But very nice to hold and it looks good

very good phone as compared to other phone with same price. just upgrade the roam by going to xda developers website. i have upgraded it to win mobile 6.5 n now the performance has improved n the battery backup is better than ever. install spb mobile shell 3d version n this phone will look so beautiful. i am loving it. problems-- camera is poor.

agree with you mate. - HTC touch viva s/w sucks. - Most annoying when you have to reset the taps using stylus when you have to send urgent sms. - My vote is to avoid this phone because when the basis necessity of a touch phone(i.e taps) is not being met - then whats the use of its other benefits!!

Hi bro, the problem is with the software... First copy & save all thats in your phone memory, then go to settings, then to system, there u have an option to clear storage & reset the settings. Do it... Later restart your cell... There it works... I too faced the same issue some time back...

READ THIS BEFORE BUYING TOUCH VIVIA i am using this phone for more than 1 year. Overall, just an average phone. camera is awful, no autofocus, picture quality is very bad, more importantly NO FLASH. don't think of recording video, it is even worst. windows OS is quick as compared to symbian but not perfect. music quality is good but the package contains NO HEADPHONES. Only good thing is net surfing, wi-fi is excellent, but if you are in india you have to set it manually for GPRS as your service provider will not be able to send settings on this phone plus NO 3G!! battery life is okay as compared to other touch screen phones. screen touch sensivity is okay but not possible to use it without stylus. stylus of cheap quality, easily breakable & may get lost also. if you want to buy it for business use it is good otherwise not good value for money. when i bought it, the inbuilt Opera browser was not working, have to hard reset it for browsing. my phone got software problems 5 to 6 times have to hard reset it everytime. got problem with charger after 8 months.I have to fix the stylus using feviquick 2 time as advised by service centre guy;-)!!now the inbuilt speaker is not working, have to make call through loudspeakers as No Headphones!! service support is limited not available in mid size cities of india. In all, there are lots of good touch screen mobiles available in the market specially samsung phones. so, avoid it if you don't have any business use. my rating 2 out of 5 :-(

After using Touch Viva for about a year or so, I must say i`m a bit disappointed by it.The phone keeps lagging and sometimes people cannot call me, or if i try to call them, after dialing the number it disconnects.It does not happen often, but it shouldn`t happen at all. Sometimes during a call the wireless is activated by itself.The processor is a bit slow and the camera is a fail. I think it`s time to get a new phone with integrated GPS and this time maybe i`ll give Android a try.

This is a GEM - U will NOT REGRET I bought this 2 months back in Chennai-Univercel around Rs.9400. Headset INCLUDED. Pros: 1. Smooth touch 2. Good battery - Everyday I can browse for 4 hrs with 1-2 hrs call 3. Internet connectivity is one of the best at this range of cost. 4. Unlimited SMS storage - Now I have more than 5000 msg. 5. Comes with Solitaire game :) 6. MS Office works excellently. 7. Didn't encounter any problems in Wi-Fi. 8. Gtalk via Nimbuzz is working fine in Wi-Fi. 9. AutoCorrect option in Photos is working amazingly. Cons: 1. Sound is in good quality at only low volumes. 2. That SMS dictinory sucks. One of the best idiotic word generator that I have ever encountered. 3. No "Group Messaging" option. 4. U can't see images in album mode, once u move those files from the default folder. Very very annoying. Final Word: Do remember, this phone has "NO 3G". After seeing the look of the phone and the brand "HTC", i just take 3G for granted. But it's not so.

I bought the device one week back, I think its a great device, it runs pocket PC, Battery backup is Moderate, UI is not very slow nor very fast... its balanced, Camera is ok 2MP,no autofocus, no flash, no 3.5mm audio jack,Video is bad, love the size. Yes you can rotate the screen. Look for a program called SKtools or Resco Media Suite. With any of them you can change the registry options within your phone. You want to change this option in particular: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\GDI\Rotation\&qu­ot; and set it to 1. You can find it by doing a search. Then go to buttons under configuration ans set button 1 to rotate screen. That's it. By keeping button 1 pressed for a couple of seconds the screen will rotate.

everyone plz read: this phone IS NOT made for music. so no headset inside the package. you can buy accessories in the stores. it has powerfull headsets you never experinced. theyr a bit expensive thoght. it has a nice equlizer having more option than the walkman sonyericcson. it is a bit slow when mulititasking. so take care. in the end its a masterpiece in compare to it's price.

I've had this phone for a while and looking back I think I made a good purchase. It has lots of great features. It's easy to use. It's great as an mp3 player but the lack of a 3.5mm jack makes it tough finding replacement earphones for it. Having seen it in action I would compare it to the blackberry curve, only cheaper perhaps.

The HTC Viva will hold a Max of 4GB on Micro. Other models will hold 8GB but the 4GB is more than enough.

It sure does. I have the Touch Viva and it syncs both with your Outlook on your PC and an Enterprise Server for Windows. You can also chack your Gmail, Hotmail, etc with no problem. The WiFi works fantastic however I have yet to discover the G service which I am waiting for the info to activate it.

Answers to your problem (I hope): 1. you can download songs and ringtones into your phone 2. In Contacts, under ringtone (after the mobile tel row) click to select choice. Too bad we cannot group our contacts can only differentiate by ringtones but you need good memory 3. Dont know where you are from but there are a lot of choices from ebay

i hav read mant times ppl takin abt Gmail app truth is Viva got 2D touchFlow and this app works on 3D TouchFlow only ..higher mobile like Diamond has 3D touchflow . Touch 3g also got 2D touchflow .. Guyz this VIva is windowz mobile do yu understand its true meaning , it has built in outlook express where yu can setup all ur emails e.g yahoo , gmail , hotmail etc so easy n u can access them so easily and better then all emails apps .atlest try it once ..and i blv as yu all ppl had other brand mobiles b4 so yu can use mobile keypad for typin in Viva wud b more easy for start ..all da probs mentioned here is not big issue just need few settings chnage thats all ...i got bunch off apps in my Viva all works okay but i only insatll usefull apps not just 4 fun etc ..i can suggest da best apps for any use ... i had this phone for above one year and acc 2 my exp it has best sound in headset v loud and clear . best browser is UCWEB it has own download manager where yu can pause resume , open many pages etc fully loaded app..about touch screen its v smooth n easy in use . no hearing prob so far ..never had prob at all . ... droped phone many times but still alive wi few marks but overall mobile is nice comes in budget ..i got 4gb card in it . default music player is best coz yu can enble bass bosster wi headset .. good start if yu wanna use windoz mobile ))if got any prob feel free 2 ask ... Facing a problem, I tried to connect to Internet through my SIM Card yesterday, and tried doing lot of settings. today I found that, I cannot read SMS nor can I write any SMS msga,though keypad is being enabled. Take a look at touch diamond or touch 3G , dont buy viva as processor is only 200 Mhz and there's no 3G. Diamond is best or else touch 3G, also HTC Tattoo is a great option

HTC Touch Viva can not be considered as a business smartphone! Due to its inconveniently small display size and the lack of a physical QWERTY keyboard! That's it!

In terms of OS, Touch Viva is much better than 5800! It's more flexible and expendable! But if you're a Symbian-lover and don't prefer Winmo OS then sure 5800 would be your no.1! To come out of a "smartphone"-dilemma, you must look at the OS the devices are running. Because that will be the deciding factor!

Hi, I am an owner of a HTC Touch Viva! I have it for almost 3 1/2 months and I can say up till now it's doing very fine! The only "problem" I faced when using this phone is the virtual keyboard! Like all other touchscreen phones, typing will be a "pain in the @ss" when the screen itself is smaller than 3.4". So if you have tiny fingers, then this will not be an issue!

Hi There, I bought this cell for Rs. 11,000 (Delhi-India) a month back. Touch Screen - Is best looking at the price, real smooth. Pixel - It is somewhere between good and average But if you compare it with Nokia 5800 - TFT resistive touchscreen, 16 Million colors 360 x 640 pixels, 3.2 inches) and Viva TFT resistive touchscreen, 65 Thousand colors 240 x 320 pixels, 2.8 inches) THEN NOKIA wins remarkably Sound Quality(Music) - According to me it is very poor, it's player gives sound of a mono player. I'm feeling it bad as my other cell is Nokia N81, i don expect same quality but other business phones like E71 give much better sound quality. Camera - Viva has 2 MP, 1600x1200 pixels and no secondary camera in front and Nokia 5800 3.15 MP, 2048x1536 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, LED flash with secondary camera. Well, secondary camera is usually used only for video calls made with 3G Viva is NOT 3G BUT Nokia 5800 is 3G and i would prefer to buy a 3G phone looking at perspective that it'll be in competition by mid next year. NET: Runs smooth just as same on any other cell. Now, i wish i could sell my HTC for Nokia 5800 as it's a fun phone, my brother wanted HTC, just like that, so i bought it for him. Now even he also don like it much. What is your requirement? a business phone or a fun phone. Gourav... here is wat u have to do... go to setting in the touch flo.. which is 2 last option... there u will see communication... touch on that... in that touch on WI FI.. wi fi will get on and it will automatically start checking on the wi fi networks available.... make sure your wi fi is switched on... once it searches the network then click on the correct connection and put the password... once u put the password it will store it in the memory so that next time it will connect u automatically when the wi fi is switched on... hope tis helps

i have been using htc viva since some months now,it is very nice phone,small sleek slender yet has powerfull feeatures.i mostly using handwriting recognition 2 compose sms messages and email and i shud say that its handwriting recognition software technology is amazing brillant.it quickly recognises my handwriting,u can put in prefered settings 4 the way u write using pen on paper so that the ph sofware recognises it everytime u write on screen,viva also has different touch keyboards 2 input text.its brillant desktop background is very appealing,only thing that i feel is lacking in this ph is the camera quality,i found the pictures with viva of not so great quality,no flash and autofocus in camera.above and all i have used the htc viva for quite some good time and done resarch on its variouse settings and i really like the phone,its a nice small phone for a average person and also for someone who wants to use a busines phone.if any one has questions on using the phone feel free 2 post it and i will try my best 2 answer it.......

i got this phone.. i just need few information... 1. can i make different folders for messages where i can save messages differently.. like address folder where i can save all the addresses i receive from my friends... 2. Hello all I purchased this phone last week. I live in India and am using an unlocked version with Vodafone connection. All in all, it's a great phone. However I am experiencing some network problems. Sometimes the network just disappears and when I try to call my own number, it says number unreachable. Sometimes, signal bars are low and sometimes they are full even if i am not changing my location at all. Worth noting point is that even if the phone shows full signal, sometimes the caller still gets 'number unreachable'. Kindly help. It's still in warranty. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Typing SMS in this phone is pretty comfortable. It allows you to type in QWERTY Keypad and in normal phone keypad. Switching to Caps, Numbers is also given with 1 touch. It also shows the complete word when you type the first few characters.I am using it for a week and am comfortable with message typing. I dont even use the stylus to type messages, unless it is a very big sms.Overall typing in this phone is comfortable.

If your gprs becomes active automatically it means one of your programmes using gprs is active. go to the main screen and click the cion at the top most area on the right hand side which shows the cpu usage ( the icon is 3 horizontal lines). the click on the icon which looks like a spanner. a list of programmes that are running will seen in a table . click on "select all". go to settings on the main screen > communications >click "data communication" ( the data connection will turn off ). DONE.!!!

Well, first of all, sorry about my poor English. My friend has a HTC TOUCH VIVA and there is some options about GPS inside system menus. It also comes with Google Maps application. I think that it has GPS but I don't know if it works as "Stand Alone GPS" or "Assisted GPS (A-GPS)". Can somebody help me???

to get a different theme u will have to download it to ur cell via pc than extract it and it save it in my documents. after that go to settings and select today thre the theme will reflect in the list u select that and in the items tab u will have to deselect toucflow option to see the theme in the wallpaper ..... I have one of these. Great phone for the price. If it does get laggy, turn it off and then back on...easy. Less than 30 seconds. Processor was sitting on 56%...rebooted phone, back to 36%. Battery life is excellent, 2 days of heavy use including MP3 and it's only down to half way on the battery. Secret is to turn off the Wi-Fi when you're not using it, that drains the battery.

hi guys! I bought my Viva a few months ago. I�m very happy with it, i found it very useful for my job! But I've been having some troble since last week... The headset icon appears at the top of the screen even though they are NOT connected!!! This leaves my PDA without sound through the speaker or mic! I've tried everything to solve it but I couldn't!!! The only way I found is connecting the device to my computer... the icon dissapears but I don't know when it will appear again!!! Hi all, I have an HTC Viva Smart Phone. I finally got around to loading multiple music albums onto my new 2Gb MicroSD card. Now I want to play back my tracks / albums on the phone. I can play individual tracks or all the tracks fine with Media Player but, I cannot seem to work out how to play multiple selected tracks to play in sequence. Maybe I need a different player for this "advanced" function :) I would love to find out where I'm going wrong! Please educate me. Cheers! Chandru

Yes it does though not mentioned in package contents in manual n internet. Before u buy see on the box contents list it shows headset in contents I was about to buy other phone thinking headset is not bundled. However no FM so headset usage will b minimal

I Vote for viva. I use 8GB Card with full of mp3 and video. It's still work properly. I also install programs & games till my internal memory left by 30MB but no problem at all. I think, I have put it to its limit. I use Spb Mobile Shell v3 too, no lag at all.

a good mobile and i recommend u to go for it... ya it can be charged via usb. and dont expect higher battery life coz PPC never give u higher battery life. ya it can be synched with any microsoft apps and 3rd party apps also...pictures get stored in phone memory(default option) but tat default option can be changed after u insert ur microSD card... and i am sry i dont hav idea abt other headphones but normally most of them work..........

guys never put more than 4gb card on ur device...2gb is the best. while more than 2gb ur device will struggle. 8gb is the final limit. 16gb will mishandle the memory only 256mb ram devices can handle 8 or 16 gb... so plz dobt go more than 4. and moreover more ram is consumed when more than 2 gb is added. more ram less battery life.....so 2 gb is the best.....

ur phone supports mp4 format and it should playback normally.. check whether any other applications are open or not..if open close them using task manager.then playback. if still slow restart ur device. i am having perfect normal playback....

hi! for rotate the screen you have to install "pocket Toolman", that is available on www.frewareppc.com the app has many fuctions and one of them is screen rotate. good luck!

it is not recommended due to the processor is 201Mhz....it will slow any application down and u may have hickups and the viva will auto reset itself if it overused!

to your first question the answer is "yes". the second question by default the pictures are stored on the memry card. if u dont have one the phone will save it on the phone memory. Yes it can be charged through USB. yes u can use a separate adapter but findin that adapter is a pain in the ****. i had to get my adapter shiped from the US just because i wanted to listen to music on a beutiful headphone that i already own.

Hey i own the phone and i currently have a 16 GB SDHC on it. the thing is there is no limit to the the expansdable memory cause it runs windows and being windows u get drivers for the phone so that u can upgrade.

hi i m Viva user since Nov08 and i can ansa all ur questions .. its a superb mobile and i had no isue wi it .. accessing emails in mobile v easy n so friendly ..abt headset u need 2 search coz after many mnths of search in march i found it buyed without bill in blk worth 650 bucks ..there is thousands of applications wch can do lots more in mobile . i rcv all files in memory card ...and wen u cnt gprs wi laptop wi usb it wrk superb and if u cnt jus usb in mobile 2 pc it wrk as pendrive u can acess ur momory card in pc ..and no u cant use other headsets in viva only htc originals ... wi headset viva give u world superb sound trust me much better then sony ipod etc i used them ... i hope i hav ansa ur all ques.. Hi! all, I have seen this mobile once and I liked it alot and plan to buy it. I have few questions, it would be great if any of the HTC Viva owners can answer them. i. Can it be synced with Windows Live Mail & Calendar? ii. Also, is it true that pictures shot from this phone or files recieved through bluetooth go to the Phone memory and not to memory card? iii. Excellent device. I bought my Viva last month and it's an excellent phone. Excellent signal and features. The camera is good but don't use for moving images.

if you wanna type emails, then instead of a touchscreen mobile go for a QWERTY keypad based handset. typing will be much much easier. typing sms and emails on a touchscreen is never easier.there is nothing wrong with htc viva otherwise. in your budget- nokia E63 is available[ having QWERTY keypad and very good battery backup]. rest is upto you....

The cam isn't very good! But do u want a touch phone or a camera??? make up ur mind, even iphone camera sucks. This one is 2 MP. I hve been using this phone for some 2 months now, haven't had any problems so far, is pretty good. Hi! i will definitely go for the HTC viva, no doubt about it. The SE P990 is an old generation of phone , released in 2005, that sould be enough to decide, beside the huge diference between the OS WM6.1 and Simbyan 9.1 good luck!

mate u don need 2 do nthin in ur pc all u need is gprs conection in ur mobile once u cnct ur mobile with pc with usb go in programs in mobile n use option INTERNET SHARING n click on connect thats it and internet wil gt cncted in pc automatic ok n da max sped mobile can provide is up2 10mbps ...hope u understand my reply .. I really enjoy my touch viva. however, the only issue that baffles my mind is that whenever the phone is on sleep mode and somebody calls or sends message to me, the call rings to the hearing of the caller but my phone doesn't ring; the sender receives successful delivery message but I don't receive the message. I went through the manual thinking I need to adjust some settings but no success. Can anybody assist to fix this issue? Thanks.

After googling and fighting with Airtel, I managed to get the correct settings and I am able to run Airtel Live as well access most of the websites on standard HTTP protocol (SSL is not supported). Google Maps also works for me. On Windows Mobile 6.x, the steps to configure are as follows: 1. Activate Airtel Live by sending the following SMS to 121: MASALA ACTIVE. 2. The service takes atleast 3-4 hours to get active. Restart the phone and resume configuring. 3. Tap Start -> Settings. 4. Select Connections Tab and tap Connections. 5. Select Advanced Tab, tap Select Networks button to bring up Network Management. 6. Under "Programs that automatically connect to the Internet should connect using:" drop down, tap the New button. 7. In the General Tab, type the name of the settings as Airtel Live 8. Select Modem tab, tap New... 9. Type the name of connection as Airtel Live, select the modem as Cellular Line (GPRS) and tap Next. 10. Type Access Point Name as airtelfun.com and tap next. 11. Leave username, password and domain blank and tap finish. 12. Select Proxy Settings tab. Tap "This network connects to the Internet". This should enable the next check box option. 13. Tap "This network uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet". 14. Type the proxy server as: 100.1.200.99 and then tap Advanced... 15. Tap HTTP, leave the server as 100.1.200.99 and change the port to 8080 16. Similarly tap WAP, Secure WAP and Socks, type the server as 100.1.200.99 but leave the port to defaults. These are optional settings. 17. Tap OK to close the Advanced proxy setup screen. 18. Tap OK to close the New connection screen. 19. The network management screen should now list the new connection you have created in the drop-down. Tap OK to close this screen 20. Tap OK to close the connection screen. Now you are ready to fire your favourite browser. I have tested this on PIE as well as Opera 9.5 and it works for me. If PIE reports "Request not authorized by the WAP Gateway", you will need to change the user-agent to anything you can think of using "Advanced Config" tool (thanks to dsixda for suggesting this). I had set it to HTCP3452_Mozilla/4.0 under Advanced Config -> Internet Explorer -> User Agent Custom Base. I think Airtel has intentionally blocked Mozilla/4.0 user-agent on WM phones. It may be that they cannot restrict Windows Mobile based phones from accessing websites on standard HTTP. On other phones I had tried, I could not get other sites to work with the same settings. Enjoy Airtel Live for free.

yea ic ... but i used some programs the % increases... and when i closed the program, the % is decreasing but not to the initial % and u know when u charge ur phone, the yellow light turns on... Hey No I guess the Program memory you are looking at is the % of memory being utilized by ur system at that point in time. So suppose u have 23 applications running in the task manager than the memory utilized will be more else it will be less.

Hey John, Both are good phones... Nokia has 3G i.e if you extensively use the internet on phone... also the processor is a tad faster than Viva.. But Viva has Windows 6.1 So I would suggest you decide whether u want a Windows based cell or a Symbian and than consider other factors.. As far as price is concerned Viva is around 10-20 Euros costlier than Nokia... Hope this makes sense..

Hey I don't think it has anything o do with a 'Weak Signal'. But ur problem is an interesting one. There are 2 options for you: 1. Goto Start-> Settings-> Connections-> Click on Connections Icon 2. Now Click on 'Advanced' tab 3. Now Click on 'Select Networks' Buton on the upper right hand side 4. Now there should be 2 dropdowns available 5. In both the dropdowns Select option 'My Work Network' This steps will disable ur GPRS as it will try to connect ot the 'My work n/w' Hope this works for u...

I connected thru Wi-fi,and I was surfing thru wi-fi,but after few minutes when clicked for some link it said (connecting to GPRS.when checked on that bar it showed WAP connected and WI-FI was disconnected) May be when the signal gets weak, it tries to connect through GPRS/WAP. Hey Hi Nik, There is no such compulsion to use Edge/GPRS while connected using Wi-fi. I personally am not able to understand as to why ur GPRS is getting active while connecting to a Wifi n/w Try manually disabling the GPRS after connecting to a Wifi n/w 1.Go to Comm. Manager and Enable ur Wifi 2. Now according to you if GPRS is getting activated than the 'Data Connection' option will be displayed as 'ON' 3. Now after your Wifi is connected try tapping on the 'DataConnection' and ur GPRS should be turned off 4. Now your Wifi should still remain active. Check the Wifi it should be seen as 'ON' Try these steps and tell me if its working Good or now..

Hey Hi There.... To answer ur question... Yes most of the stuff on the handset can be accessed using the thumb itself.. but some features require stylus (for eg. scrolling a page) i.e. if u don't use the 4-way Navigation key... Else it sounds good to me...:)

Hey...u r right, it is a bit diffrent process than what we normaly use for other bluetooth enabled phones. The correct way of transfering or receiving files would be: going to the setting option which is on the bottom doc. Select communications, click on bluetooth & wait till it turns on. Once it is done, click on the settings at the extreme bottom left of the same window. Then go to mode and make sure that both the check boxes are ticked. "Turn on Bluetooth" & "Make this device visible to other devices". This will make sure u can see other bluetooth devices and ur device is displayed to other. While transfering files, it will also ask for passkey on ur device and the one connected with yours. Make sure both of u enter the same no in passkey. I gues this will help you?

Hey Dude, Regarding the use of Stylus depends absolutely upon an individual. I just bought this phone and this is my first touch screen but I can type messages without Stylus... though my friend requires a stylus to type a message with the same handset. But I find the onscreen qwetr keyboard big enough for finger typing. You can refer some snaps of the handset before buying... that may help u!

can anybody confirm that there are no settings/options to use the viva phone's screen in landscape/horizontal position. Secondly, would you say that it is better to get a viva rather than the touch 3452 which too is now coming with Win 6.1 and is a sturdier and more modern design to my eyes. I am stuck between choosing viva or 3452 and on another note, viva is cheaper too, though when you consider the bundled accessories with 3452, the equipment cost of 3452 seems lower. Does the Viva or Touch 3G require the stylus to type sms or is the keypad big enough to type with your fingers as in the apple, Omnia and the Nokia 5800 i love these HTC's but the only headache every time u need to type something u need to use the blooming stylus or the hand recognition which is a bit of pain ! Got my Viva last week. It's a good phone. I had some problems with reception on my original htc touch. The thing I don't like about this one is the recessed screen. I don't know why they did that to this phone. It makes it difficult to use you fingers on the touch screen at the edges.

Hey People, I just purchased this phone yesterday and I am facing a pecuilar problem. When I play a video with Pocket TV(which is a third party product) the video plys for around half a minute and than it pops up an error saying 'Your audio manager is not buffering data corrctly so the application has stopped responding' But some videos do play correctly. Good Phone i buy it for my girlfriend and she was exciting the phone have wifi to answer to the friend down and the browsing its really fast have windowslive msn u know and the phone have aplications in the net like themes and some games she installed some uno game aplication u know the camera its good but its not to take some picture compare to a sony camera or nokia but its good i think its because the phone not have some flash well hope this would help the phone cost me about $280 at ebay sou thats a really great price for a touch phone!

There is no basic difference between the two as far as the operation system is concern .. yes but i have handled both .. Response on Viva (Elfin) is better than Touch (Elf) .. i got my self a Viva.. great phone .. One more thing there are questions about forwarding sms . some have issue doing it and they say cant be done with out registry edit. BUT THIS CAN BE DONE. There is how, The sms are shown in form of conversations when you open a conversation you the four way key .. press up and you will be able to select individual messages and this way you can forward / delete the individual sms/mms .... There is one more way to select the individual message that is using stylus ... just move the stylus above the contact name

My viva's battery only lasts for a day, a day and a half maximum. If i charge it during evening, spoke for 10 minutes, in the morning, after a hole night when the phone was in standby, not used, screen closed, one third of the battery is gone. Is this normal? No memory card in the box and the headset costs 22.90 euro(plus shipping) if you want to buy it from the HTC web site , but I found it in a mobile store in Italy at 19 euro though... so Htc is more expensive on line :-) Viva works ok with any memory card (2,4,8 Giga), doesen't affects his performance, at the contrary, if you store everything in the external memory and leave the internal one free (that is 80 MB) you should have faster response of the functions.

Hi! The 201Mhz processor is ok for running all the apps you want, and the 128Ram helps in having good results, but, you will notice a small delay in the functions when you run in the same time "heavy" apps like WMP, ADOBE, music player, office.. Ofcourse, a 500+ processor will speed up the device, but it will also make you pay dubble the price :) Like i said before, VIVA is the best deal on the market if you want to spend less and have a good PPC in you hands.

Touch 3G is more powerful compared to Viva. If you use 4G storage card for the Viva, the phone operation is terribly slow. 2 G is just fine. Viva uses Texas Instrument (TI) processor of mere 201 Hz. The Qualcomm processor is much better which is used in Touch 3G.

I bought the Touch Viva on Dec 31, 2008. If you are a new driver on the road,get a small car before you drive a luxury one. If you bumped into a ditch the cost to repair the damage is small. Same things in mobile world. Get the Touch Viva before you buy the Touch 3G! Touch Viva is a basic yet an easy to manoeuvre. The touch screen and the interface are excellent. To use your thumb or finger may be too troublesome since some icons are small. The use of the stylus is recommended. At times, you may get stuck and hanged. To solve this problem you just need to use a reset button under the hood. Overall, to me the Viva is excellent for beginners. I did like to rate it as 9/10.

Just got the touch viva a couple of weeks ago - having problems with messaging and crashing on me - after about a few days use the message screeen just comes up blank and I have to do a hard reset - anyone else had this problem and have any other options instead of the hard reset - or is it a take it back to the shop issue? any help much appreciated.

I have just installed skype onto it from Fring - a website with a variety of mail/contact options: skype, MSN, Yahoo messenger, etc. Go to Fring.com, put in your gsm number and email address and you should receive it within seconds as a message on your phone - just click and follow download instructions.

HTC 3450 was only 3d touch globe and win 6.0..... Over 3452 has got ram and rom upgrade and touch flow 2d interface. My recommendation will be touch viva as it is quad band over tri band 3452, and is specifically faster on its touch flo 2d interface. get in touch for further clarifications....

Great phone, I have it for a month and it's so cool. Battery goes for 4 days! With 20-30min talk per day and some play with the functions, wi-fi etc. A great value for its money. I suppose the 3g model is better, with faster CPU, but lower battery life I presume

Hi guyz. As of now in India, this phone is coming with Idea at Rs 15800 approx. No Earphones in the box. U have to get the phone unlocked to use airtel or vodafone. But who cares ! U still have A2DP. U have wi-fii, 2.8 inch screen, storage upto 8 gb(16gb unofficially), 128 mb ram and 256 mb rom. The competitors in this range aint even half as good !!!! The touch flow and win6.1pro make it work like a dream. Not to forget that it is a business phone so browsing and emailing aint too bad either. All in all, its a gr8 phone.

I'm planning to buy it when launched here in Egypt. It's price is great though its performance is not so promised. To vijay: While I havn't buy it yet, I think that it has its full Windows Mobile power. It's the OS spec not the Vivi spec. To Sam: I think that RAM size will improve its performance over the old Touch, but for processor, you will sure find some poor speed that appear in luanching applications and so. I noticed that from YouTube vidoes that reviewd it. For bettery life, someone commented in this opinions page that it can work for 2 days. I think so by comparing it to the Touch 3G while specs are similar with the same battery capacity.

Battery life: A fully charged battery lasts for about 2 days under my usage, which includes: 5-10 GSM calls and 10-15 SMS daily, breaking bubbles at least for some 100 minutes a day :), and a lot of playing with it since it is only a week that I have it. Connectivity: The GPRS is slow, though the phone connects to the service pretty fast, and Wi-Fi is good, though it takes some 2-3 seconds to load sites. Haven't had any problems with GSM module: the signal is pretty good, and no distortions when speaking. Overall I would say that this is a really worthy device for its price (I bought it for about 300$).

Good phone with excellent features though user interface isn't very friendly especially the meticulous touch through the concaved screen. However I prefer this windows 6.1 to my previous S620s 5.0 version. Also playing Mp4s is quite smooth unlike the S620 guessing the RAM increase helped.

Those who feel that 201 MHz is low; just look at the pricing. Besides that, HTC has its optimisations on works and as I have used this phone; its simply great. I just dont know how it could work so well on 201 MHz. Though 128 MB RAM is a relief on such a phone. Of course, if you wanna use it for playing HD videos, then I cannot help.

So far I love this phone. I am able to take care of all my e-mail, surf the web, and handle a few programs that I use for reference (I work in a pharmacy). I do love the small design but I'm not too keen with the raised bezel. I try to use the phone without the stylus but when I need to use the scroll bar, that's when I have to take it out. The keypad is adequate for the size of the screen but although I have normal sized fingers, I do hit the wrong key every now and then. Speaking of, the screen size I say is really not for everyone. I don't suggest reading a long word document for long unless you want to strain your eyes. The call quality is great and the wi-fi is pretty quick. I do not have EDGE or 3G so I can't really tell you the quality of those services. I do have some of my music on the Viva and the quality is pretty good. The camera I would say is adequate. I've seen better on other phones. The Touch Flo works wel with this phone and is responsive. The UI can be worked with so you won't have to use the start menu all the time. This I really liked. Texting I simple and actually saves it as conversations so you can keep track with what you and your "textee" talked about. I will say that this is a great phone for regular use. An all in one device to entertain you while standing in line at the bank or maybe for college students too. I would not recommend it for business use though. It is in fact an entry level Pocket PC. But for the price I believe it's worth having. Rating: 8/10

just to make a small comment i currently own the touch diamond...its a great phone, its has 192mb ram and 528 mhz processor...and with all of that..the phone used to lag a bit... just by using touch flo 3D, 54% of the ram would be taken... so imagine if on this phone they have touch flo 3D, and only 128mb ram and just a 201 mhz processor??? i dont think its gona work well....

I'm currently using a Touch with the same specs as the Viva... and 201Mhz is fast enough... I use wifi a lot (if you want a fast browser use Opera 9.5; better than IE) and make tons of calls and text tons of messages... also use music a lot... and no problems!!! I have no lags... Also, I�m using Manilla 2D UI which is identical to that of the HTC Touch 3D and Viva... so, yes, it is fast enough

Ist 201 MHz to low for regularly using WiFi, calling and writing text messages? I wouldn't use music so often, other features are nice but not necessary used every day...so is 201 MHz processor enough or to low? does anyone have experience of this point with the HTC touch?

i lost my htc touch last week so i had no other option but to buy a new one. so i bought an htc touch viva, it has more features than the old touch but i think the memory is lower. it its longer but lighter than the old touch. and the price is almost the same just slightly higher.

Hongkong already have it HKD2880 is a nice price with the spec.and promotion free 4G m.card. This T.VIVA only came to Fight Asus P320.

man, you guys are missing the point. this is an entry level phone. From what i heard its price should be low. If you want a fast processor then go for the touch 3g. What htc did was take a popular phone, give it a new design, say its actually a quad band, give it a new interface( which i heard isn't slow on the 200mhz) and sell it low. If you want high end, then your at the wrong phone.

it is practically the same as the htc touch. i'm not so sure about the design. the "sunken" screen doesn't work for me. anyway, htc rocks and go htc touch hd!!!!!! (sorry viva!)

Exactly! Like i said already 200MHz is much below par... The original Touch already experienced lag problems. Hopefully this phone is aimed for people with lower budget. And another BIG hope is that the new touchFLO is more efficient so rendering graphics for the mediocre processor will not provide a laggy experience.

This looks like the same underpowered Touch with improved interface... Unless the processor can be overclocked (as the original Touch can be, with the help of some 3rd party app) I would steer away from this to prevent the risk of having a supremely laggy phone. 200Mhz is much below par.
