HTC U11 Eyes - User Reviews

  • Hi. My friend i have europ version with serial xx.xx.401.xx and my u11 eyes runs with android oreo. And i agree you,htc should makes better support and update its products, especially mediate to flagship. I jave this great phone for about 9months and every things are great.finger scanner works very fast(far better than galaxy a6,a7,s8+ and other huawei and xiaomi phones)camera is great to and close to u11, 11+ and u12+ , s9 and other flagships.battery stamina and ..... are great BUT HTC HAVE TO MAKES UPDATE TEAM/SUPPORT HTC PRODUCTS. AT LEAST UPPER MEDDIATE SHOULD BE SUPPORT LIKE FLAGSHIPS AND RECIVED UPDATE FOR 2YEARS. please htc.

  • An year elapsed and no any latest android update . The version is still 7.1.2 and security patch level is April 2018. Good phone but it seems is abandoned by htc and we will never get Oreo. Camera is excellent, especially OIS

  • Please could anyone here kindly tell about this phone. Is it recommended?

  • Rejoice, for we have been blessed with an update! We are not worthy of your kindness HTC. So what exactly did this update, update? OS version and security patch level remain the same.

  • Im from srilanka... I got an update today after a looong time.. But dont know what it is... Ive used this for 5 months.. All good except the updates and the gallery... Rear camera is great... Can take stunning images...

  • no update at this time :( bad purchase

  • where is oreo!!!

  • You can read the spec above, it could endure 1 m under water within 30 mins. Waterproof is only use for calling under rainy.

  • is it water proof? meaning to say can i take underwater pics

  • Phone is speedy. Multitasking is fine. Live wallpapers stutter, however. Don't know about games.

  • So what is the speed like? Any Lag? Can you multitask ok? Play games like Sniper 3D without it driving you crazy because of lag? Cheers.

  • no OS update, but the phone is wonderful and stable, definitely a good investment.

  • I m planning to buy this phone but can anyone tell me, whether it will get updates or not .coz it still running on nougat

  • Display seems to be very good, not the sharpest, but sharp enough as i said to not see any pixel. Only when you really try and search you might find from close. Front camera as i said, is still good, but not the best. Havent been bothered about any noise...

  • Thank you for reply. I've used HTC M7, M8 and i'm satisfied with it. I don't understand why they blame HTC. I thought because HTC is too bad in marketing, like their slogan "quietly brilliant". If i were them, i would go for "loudly brilliant"

  • Hi, I have htc u11 eyes for 5 months ,I have recognized 2 things 1- I think the display is tend to be a little red and it is not quite sharp ,especially when I watch 1080p videos and compare it to my previous phone (htc one X9) 2_ the front camera has noise and I expect a lot more from this phone... Please have comments on these

  • Same here. Same observations. I agree with all points. Battery lasts for 1 day easily on heavy usage, thats a strong point.

  • 1. Even I am not from China or Hongkong, its available on Amazon Global Shipping, and some international e ecommerce sites. 2. Nope, no heating at all. Its been few months now, i am using , yet to come across any drawback. Go for it with confidence.

  • Hi, i'm planning to buy this phone, may i ask you something, tks ! 1. How do i buy this phone, because i'm not from China or Hong Kong market 2. I have nothing to complain but could you evaluate the heat, does it too overheat or still accepted ? Thank you !

  • this is the best in this price.very fast, great camera in back an front(also better that s6 edge and a little better than s7),very beautiful and the great positive point is battery. battery stands for 1 day heavy usage and at night i have about 15-25 percent.these are my experiences after 5weeks i've bought htc u11 eyes.

  • Yes

  • does it have a notification light??

  • My HTC U11 Eyes Review Oct 2018 - Undiscovered Gem from HTC Background: My last phone was Samsung S8 Plus and LG V30 before that. Dislike of PWM on Amoled screen and Display uneven brightness were respective reasons for changing phones. I could hardly find reviews of HTC U11 Eyes online, after see few Chinese and korean reviews I went for it and bought this phone. Looks: Mine is Black color. Exactly like HTC U11 Plus, Very solid build quality, Very classy, and metal buttons have Apple level precision, that don't shake like it does on many flagship androids. But it is a fingerprint magnet like S8 etc. Display: As good as any other LCD. HTC's Super LCD3. 18:9 aspect ratio. 402 PPI is not the highest but very high enough that your eyes might not notice. Rear Camera: Same module which was used in HTC U11, rated as best Camera as per DXOMark. I can say the picture quality is on par with Pixel 2 (almost), basically Pixel 2 camera without AI. Much better than oversaturated S8. One of the BEST Cameras I have used. Front Camera: Inspite of 2 cameras (one with depth sensor), its strictly above average. Not the best. Video Recording: Hi-Res Audio recording in 4K, which other phone has this feature? Video Quality was on par with most flagships. I was so disappointed with Pixel 2 or iPhone having a Mono audio recording for video in 2018! Audio Quality: Through Speakers if strictly average, and not great. Through headphones, it lack 3.5 mm. Stock earphones are of good quality. USonic will blow you away with its enhancement for Hi Res Audio and even 320 kbps music. But personally, I prefer to switch it off, to get a more natural sound. Sound Quality is excellent. OS: Running Nougat 7.1.2. No Oreo as of today Oct 2018. But I never care about OS, as HTC has skinned the UI and honestly I am yet to see any significant upgrades in User Experience due to these 'Upgrades' Atleast for me its a non issue, as long as the phone works smoothly, which it does. ( I know for some this is of paramount importance). Performance: Coming from S8 + and LG V30, I couldn't notice any difference with Snapdragon 652 (28nm) being old. I DONT do gaming. Emails, Whatsapp, Lots of Photos, Videos, Music, Social Media, Other apps. Very fast and smooth. Battery: With moderate use, after 12 hours 40% left. According to me this is Very Good. After 16 hours 20-25% left. With Heavy use, after 12 hours 25% left. Which is again very good. Yes, with newer processor 3930 Mah could have eked out more life, but this current life is more than enough for average user. Overall: It is a very good phone, not bad from any stretch of imagination. Bought for 280$ (Rs.26,999). At that price, this phone is one par with most of the mid range flagships. I am surprised HTC havent released this is too many markets.

  • I'd like to add that currently there is an issue with quick charging on the 7 Plus (aside from the fact that it doesn't come bundled with a quick charger). The 7 Plus will not quick charge when the phone is above a certain temperature or while the display is on. This is widely reported on XDA. Some say it's an intentional feature to prevent the phone from overheating. Others say it's been resolved with the Android 9.0 pre-release versions. In any case, the Eyes has no such issue/feature. It quick charges immediately, everytime. I've seldom noticed the Eyes being warm and never once hot. I frequently notice the 7 Plus being warm or hot.

  • The reason being... The Eyes is IP rated. The 7 Plus is not. I'd like to be able to take a call when it's drizzling and I'm not carrying an umbrella. The Eyes has a better rear camera, particularly in low light. Yes the 7 Plus has a better front camera, but I'm not a selfie person. The Eyes comes bundled with better earphones. These high quality earphones, combined with their associated background app, make for a vastly better sound experience than even my Sony XBA earphones (which retailed for as high as $400 when new). The 7 Plus comes bundled with your run of the mill cheapish earphones. The Eyes has a better and louder mono speaker than the 7 Plus. The Eyes comes bundled with a quick charger. The 7 Plus does not. The Eyes starts up quicker than the 7 Plus. OS updates aside, you could argue that 7 Plus has newer Qualcommy stuff. I can absolutely not tell the difference between the SD652 and SD660 in my regular daily usage. You could argue that the 7 Plus has a higher numbered Bluetooth version, but can anyone tell the difference? All my Bluetooth devices connect just fine with the Eyes. I don't transfer large files over Bluetooth, so its speed matters not to me. You could argue that the vanilla Android homescreen and app drawer is better than that of HTC Sense, and I'd agree. But I'd counter-argue that Nova Prime trumps vanilla Android, which is what I use on the Eyes. They're both great phones and similarly priced on eBay (now). One just has to decide whether regular OS updates and consumer bias are more important to them than.. well.. everything else.

  • " I would still pick this phone over the Nokia 7 Plus " The reason being?

  • There is no Oreo for this phone. This phone will not be updated beyond Nougat. Unless they or their source is an official HTC representative, any website or individual who states otherwise is incorrect. Having said that, I would still pick this phone over the Nokia 7 Plus (I own both).

  • Is there Oreo on this phone or not? Gsm arena say there is Oreo...

  • Ive been using this phone for a month, its great phone. but the marketing of HTC is not good as Samsung, honestly the camera of this phone is better than I phone or Samsung S8/Note8

  • Great phone, the main camera is better than Samsung S8,Note8, HTC should do better marketing. Great battery, this phone looks awesome.

  • It says Android Oreo (8.0) right in the description.

  • I swear they better be skipping Oreo to work on bringing Pie to this phone. Otherwise it'll be my fourth and last HTC. This phone should have shipped with Oreo. I ordered it based on this and a numerous other major sites that stated it ships with Oreo.

  • No Oreo 8.0.. No way for me to buy this fone

  • Got the phone yesterdayand poppedmy h20 sim card in and works great. Front camera bokeh is a cool feature. Battery is great and fast charges. Haven't testedrear camera but I expect good things.

  • Please review

  • Where did they say this? Do you have a link? An HTC customer service rep in Hong Kong told me via Facebook that HTC currently has no plans to bring Oreo to this device.

  • Yep, it would help HTC sales

  • Agreed, Should definitely release this phone worldwide.

  • This one is better, with the identical camera of the 2017 flagship U11

  • Actually it is Andriod 7.1.2, but HTC said they will update to Andriod O in a year...

  • Honestly, HTC still makes awesome phones. Shame that the cons make people look for other options

  • It's a step up for me, much quicker focus and shutter speed.

  • Used the phone for a couple of months now. Overall I think this phone is excellent, fast and responsive and I have found the camera to be superb, it sits perfectly between the oversaturated Galaxy S8 and the more subdued shots you normally get with an iPhone. The fast autofocus is so much better than previous HTC phones. Battery life is also superb. It is a shame that is doesn't run Oreo as yet but hopefully that will come soon. For £250 you really can't go wrong

  • It's better in love light and noise reduction. People compare this phones camera to dual camera modules, so safe to say is pretty good.

  • Anybody knows how the camera compares to the HTC I Ultra ?

  • What's included in the box: Cleaning cloth, HTC uSonic earbuds with Type-C connection (Exellent Resolution), Clear Shield Case and the SIM removal tool. What's not included: the Type-C to 3.5mm adapter.

  • Purchased the HTC U11 EYEs through Amazon, I'm located in Central America. Phone works perfect, good LTE. Beautiful design, the price is not bad per excellent quality, got it for $399. Latest update I got was on June 22nd, version 1.00.709.11, still Nougat 7.1.2. It is the Taiwanese version.

  • It's support 4g lte indian band width

  • Ni radio fm

  • I think the U11 Plus is what you should get then, since it's available globally whereas the Eyes is only available in China. Shame to, since it's such a beautiful design

  • There is no 3.5mm port, however the phone does come with earphones (good ones). They plug into the Type C port that is also used for charging. In case you'd like to use your own wired 3.5mm earphones with this phone, you'd need to purchase an HTC Type C to 3.5mm adapter separately. This item is rather expensive, and not available for sale in all markets. Most third party adapters will not work unfortunately. However, there are certain apps on the Play Store that may make unsupported adapters work, such as SoundAbout and Audio Router.

  • Can someone here please help me with concrete information. It says no 3mm. Does it mean the phone doesn't come with ear phones? And does it mean there's no FM radio?

  • Yup no Oreo. Just April security patch.

  • Software update last night.Still 7.1.2 though :(

  • Anyone with the HTC U11 EYEs running Oreo?

  • Can anybody tell that when it will be availabe in India?????????

  • Thinking about getting a U11 or the U11 eyes, I'm in the US and planning to use it on T-mobile. I notice the U11 eyes is missing some bands for 3G. Just wondering if anyone here is using this phone in the US on Tmobile. The bigger screen and battery size is tempting to get this over the U11.

  • Nougat 7.1.2 with Nov 2017 security patch. :(

  • No idea. I just quoted it from the manual.

  • Great phone so far, battey & camera top class, disappointed it's not on Oreo though. Build quality at flagship level.

  • I'm in Taiwan, and I use u11 eyes for only a week. pros: best for the least cost cons: sometimes it gets hot when using heavy load apps Once I washed the phone, its speaker blurred for a while(10min) I guess it's because the water somehow block the channel of voice, so, it return to fine state after water in the waterproof channel came out

  • Great phone from every aspect. I lv it so much. perfect camera and sound, fast , beautiful and user friend.

  • is it running android 7 or 8?

  • can you please explain this for us? Thanks in advance....

  • Overall excellent. Slightly big and heavy but you can see that before buying. Battery life excellent. doubt you could get a better camera for twice the price....htc software excellent. Up in the top 2 or 3 phones I've ever owned (LG g6, galaxy s7, honor 8, xiaomi mi5 are most recent phones I've owned...)

  • Hello Guys, To anyone who has this unit already, any pros or cons with it? I think GSMarena has no intention creating a review for this.

  • Minimal. I remember there being a RAM booster app which I deleted immediately. Other than that, there's Facebook and Instagram which can be disabled but not deleted. Touchpal and News Republic can also be disabled but not deleted. I don't see anything else in the app list that would be considered bloatware. There may have been when I first got the phone but I'd have deleted it because I was able to.

  • Can anyone tell me what it's like for bloatware? This is top priority for me as my old Samsung drove me mad with useless stuff which I couldn't get rid of.

  • U11 Eyes better. Best mid range phone I've ever owned (coming from Honor 8, Galaxy s7, Lg G6). Camera is excellent for this price range better than some flagships (G6). Battery life excellent 30+ hrs with 5+ hrs SOT. Edge sense is excellent short cut feature.

  • Which is better mate 10 or htc u11 eyes?

  • Thanks

  • Sure. Head: 0.662 W/kg@10g Body: 0.541 W/kg@10g

  • Could you give the Sar value information of this phone written in the manual?

  • What is the Sar value of this phone? It is written nowhere...

  • I spoke to an HTC customer service rep in Honk Kong and he said that HTC currently has no plan to bring Oreo to this device. I like how 90% of websites (including this one) reported last January that it'll ship with Oreo when in fact it runs Nougat 7.1.2. If I had known, I may not have purchased it. Nougat on a 2018 premium mid-ranger is ridiculous, particularly if they don't plan to update.

  • No, it is not. Where do you get your info from? You can buy these in all Europe.

  • its available from awok i am using it as a second phone it works like a charm remember dont use the plastic cover provided in the box. never use hard covers it will scratch the phone

  • When come in gcc

  • This version is exclusive for Taiwan market only. You can tell this is the special version of HTC U11+ with lower specs. HTC also released the HTC 10 version with Snapdragon 652 - 3Gb of Ram in some markets of South America.

  • Review please gsmarena

  • Why still no review to this phone ???, big battery with one of the most power efficient chips, that's awesome. This phone is very underrated due to the poor marketing

  • And it took you 1.5 hours to get to the nearest HTC service centre in HK? Really? Really now? It doesn't even take that long to commute from HK to Shenzhen! Were you crawling there brah?

  • What a crock of s**t. I stepped on my cased HTC U11 EYEs yesterday by accident and there ain't even a scratch on it. You're claiming to have cracked it just by lifting it. TFOH. I throw it around like a deck of cards on a daily basis and have yet to damage it. This is as sturdy as it gets with glass-backed phones. And you expect the market to be inundated with cases for a mid-range China/HK/Taiwan-only phone? This ain't a global flagship. If cases mean so much to you, you should've researched that before purchasing. The default HTC case that comes with the phone ain't bad at all. HTC also sells a more rugged Spigen-like case specifically for this model which you will find listed on the HTC HK website. And then there's eBay.

  • recently launched models usually takes about a month to get accesories on shopping markets :3 everyone knows that

  • Do not buy the HTC U11 eyes phone: Terrible quality, service and no cases to buy in Hong Kong. I am a student who came to live in Hong Kong for the year. I heard HTC came out with a new phone model recently and decided to purchase the HTC U11 eyes phone. Although I did not know much about the company, as it had great specs at a fair price. After paying for the phone, I asked the manager of Broadway if there are any other cases I can purchase for the phone as the quality did not look promising. However, he reassured me that the one it comes with is good enough and it also stated so on their website. A week later, I woke up in the morning and picked up my phone from the table beside me. Once I grabbed the tip of the phone, the back glass shattered inside the case. The case must have been to tight, or the quality of the glass was very poor. Having a half broken phone, I commuted for 1.5h to the nearest HTC customer service desk who said that they will analyze the defect on the spot. Little did I know, they were going to ship it instead. It was Chinese New Year and would have taken over two weeks. Before telling me all these details, including a 1000 hkd deposit that I did not have, the person I was speaking to deleted everything on my phone. After what happened, I was very frustrated and asked to speak to the manager of HTC customer service. They did not allow it and were very rude to me. They spoke in a different language so I do not understand what they were talking about. I felt very uncomfortable and upset. They later convinced me via email to ship the phone. They used language that made it seem like they would fix it for free, however, called me two days later asking for a payment. DO NOT TRUST HTC. There are no cases to buy anywhere in Hong Kong, the customer service is terrible, and the quality of the phone is the worst I have ever seen. This experience has been very difficult for me and I am very upset with the quality of the phone and service. I am away from the family and home, and the HTC team did not make it any easier. They did not find any solution, and did not let me speak to anyone capable of making a decision. Very rude, disrespectful and untruth worthy company.

  • Love that.

  • i am agree with you .

  • Before making unsubstantiated comments check Qualcomm website and take a little reading on the capabilities of Snapdragon 652 -_- it is high-tier processor and can do almost everything you expect from a mid-range smartphone -_-

  • I am waiting this awesome smartphone to be in Europe..

  • well i hope that's not the case, dont really wanna see another "ultra" scenario

  • Just got this phone today. Nougat 7.1.2 despite what GSMarena says. Slapped on Nova Launcher and put it through ~12 hours of continuous heavy usage. It's down to 39% from a full charge. The phone looks far better in person (in 'solar red') than in photos or videos. Build quality is impeccable. It would take a substantially strong person to bend this. Rear camera is great. Front camera is meh. Minimum bloatware – most of which can be deleted. Charges fast. Unlocks fast using the rear scanner. Unfortunately certain live wallpapers stutter on this phone (YMMV). The same live wallpapers do not stutter on my four year old One M8. I don't have a U11 Plus to compare it with, but the display on the EYEs is plenty bright for me. No way would I have bought a Vivo, Oppo or Honor over this, despite the SD652. In an ideal world, this upper mid-ranger would have an SD660, USB 3.1 and a better front camera for the price.

  • Anyway phonw for over a 500 you wont expect that. Like iphone 6 also failed a bend test. And back in 2012 its price was around 800 or over 1000 for a plus version.

  • If it has the Same Camera As The U11 than its also gonna have the Dual pixel Phase detection? Right guys

  • I would have rather seen this model launch with a Snapdragon 660 or a 653 SoC. Hopefully, it's successor will be outed with the rumored Snapdragon 670 & Android P.

  • Anyway you wont expect that froma 500 eur phone do you???

  • dude its glass its just the squeezable frame that makes it fragile

  • Not really, Note 3 had SD650 not SD652.

  • Look at the SOC. Redmi Note 3 had one.

  • The U11 on video on jerryrigseverything were plastic one or looks like. Thats what i was meaning by my comment.

  • How is this plastic?? U mean the Frame is plastic? or the Back?

  • Look at the size of that battery. Whoaaa

  • if that rumors true the price of SD660 version would more expensive htc will pricing it , almost 660 EURO lol

  • WEH!

  • Eyes?!? All I see is (a) hat and chin. Ridiculously thick bezels for this day and age (below 80% ... don't even try).

  • This seems actually good (but would buy the snapdragon 660 variant if the rumors are true)

  • My only concern is that HTC should see market competition first then product price should be given as per price to feature ratio as per market.

  • HTC is funny asking 500 eur for a plastic phone with just awerage specs which failed bend test as we saw a proof on jerryrigseverything on youtube.

  • When it will be released worldwide?!

  • that sounds good.

  • IF this mobile was around 400 it would have A lot of homes but I don't know wat is up with this company they always pricey. I was a dedicated Die Hard father of this company but after the HTC One with the purplish camera stuff that you have to put in the freezer in a plastic bag to capture a perfect picture or a decent picture I gave it up for Samsung and never looked back only viewed it on this website on the pages did the prices are wrong 370 I will purchase it and have it as a backup or give it to someone and make them happy with the big screen

  • My friend HTC U11 Eyes is a medium range version as alternative for U11+ high end phone. I have already HTC U11 Eyes and it has high performance while playing NFS No Limit, Asphalt Airborne 8, Dead Effect 2 with no laggs.

  • Thats why their going bankrupt... lel

  • No only 2 slots, the 2nd slot can be used for sim or sd card

  • microSD, up to 400 GB (uses SIM 2 slot)

  • SD 835 soc should be there or equivalent...GPU Adreno 540 should be there or equivalent...see one plus 5t... don't see any competition.... Trying to sell shit at gold price mf?!!!

  • is it coming with three slots ? tow sim and one for sd card ?

  • sarcasm at its best xD

  • Excellent phone! It has camera and touch screen no other phone companies have.

  • Man S8 did not failed bend test and i use Moto X4. So dunno what you talking check for your self. And if its so great why it did not won anything from GSMArena when at the end of the year was lots of scorecharts posted with phones with best camera, best display, overall best etc, Even a Z4 from Samsung preformed better :-)

  • One plus 5T steals your credit card!! And it's better?? What a scam advise

  • I just bought this phone in Hong Kong for $2798 hkd which is approx. $358 USD or $ 291 EUR. The battery life is great. I am using iPhone x as my main work phone and this phone as my secondary gaming phone. The battery life is long enough to last a day for me with few hours of gaming a day SOT for me is approx. 6 hrs or so. The processor is definitely outdated but all the games I played run smoothly and the device is just slightly warm. The rear camera is just as good as iPhone x camera. Anyway if you can get this device for cheap is really worth it.

  • According to Jerry Rig Everything our most famous Zac and his phone tests this one cant have a value of 500 maybe 50 eur but definitely not 500. Its a most bendable phone of last year. Only worse was Nextbit Robin and maybe Iphone 6. And because its tottaly failed the bend test i would no reccomend to buy this piece of junk disguised as a great phone worth 500 eur :-)

  • I received my HTC U11 Eyes, a wonderful devise with high performance and speed

  • in 2018 why not use sd 630 , 630 has more excellent power consumption and heat control, and using 14nm processor. like nokia 6 2018 and sony XA2 use sd630. disappointed

  • Before making unsubstantiated comments check Qualcomm website and take a little reading on the capabilities of Snapdragon 652

  • Better go for one plus 5T or Honor View 10. Technically this mid range is very bad with SD processor.

  • 652 is old chipset. May be HTC help Qualcomm to clear old stock and got it with low price. Only way to make it competitive is paired with a big battery

  • It could tack up pretty good with samsung a8+ with dual front camera . If priced correctly then it may be a better choice nd also it has same rear camera of u11 which is great also sd652 is ok but newer would be better . Design wise its gorgeous . But shit still don't have headphone jack ! a8 has .

  • SD 652 and Exynos 7885 have almost the same score on Antutu (about 80000)

  • sd 652 quite solid performance, but now 2018 at least sd660 for that price

  • you should not compare this device with A8 or A8 PLUS you must compare it with A9 PRO(2016) & C9 PRO because both of them have 6inch display & 4000Mah , 5000Mah BATTERY with SD652 & SD653 chipset also both of them upgradable to ANDROID 7 you can find A9 PRO 2016 for 335$ us C9 PRO 376$ us with 6GB ram

  • despite its popularity back in the day, does it make sense to use Snapdragon 652 inside a $500 HTC U11 Eyes upper mid-ranger announced in 2018? To be honest, using Snapdragon 653 would have made more sense. It’s slightly faster, features a new generation X9 LTE modem, and is just over a year old. It’s like a refreshed SD652, with small upgrades. The performance is slightly better given its higher clock speed, and it scores around 90,000 points vs 78,000 by SD652 in the AnTuTu benchmark. Similar difference can be found in other benchmark scores as well

  • Don't know WHY these guys bother making another "ho hum" phone with nothing going for it and at a high price point? Just give up and go home. Either you're in the game or you're not, and you HTC are clearly NOT.

  • Why are so many people complaining about the price? Sure it's an overpriced device but still cheaper than the A8+ and looks better for me

  • It's looking so beautiful but somehow the U11 is the best looking of all them with this new HTC design and the liquid design or whatever it's called. This phone in solar red will be the best color for me.

  • 500eur!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • TBH I feel like it's going to perform okay. I'm saying this because many people use the zte zmax pro in my school and they say there performance is great, except for one person. That phone having a Snapdragon 617, this phone should be able to live up to your demands

  • Then don't buy it. Stop complaining bruh. It's a good phone even thou it has that snapdragon model.

  • htc, are you kidding me , please wake up, dont sleep. snapdragon 652 is outdated, and the price so expensive, if your sell 250 EUR, maybe hot sell.

  • Again no 3.5mm jack, come on! Why not to make it yet because many use such headphones and will use.

  • Too expensive for a mid-tier device. Also, why not the Snapdragon 660? 652 is too weak for 2018 demands.

  • to be honest, this device deserves a $300 price tag max. The soc is from 2016, NO HEADPHONE JACK, if i need a waterproof mid-ranger i can pick Galaxy A8+, A8, A720, S7 edge (its cheap) etc. not a sub-par IP67 rating phone. good luck competing with Oneplus HTC ... WTF, it even has no radio!! mid rangers should always have these things: headphone jack, large battery (thats okay for this one), radio, sd card slot, duo sim

  • Maybe split screen quick toggle option.

  • Very nice phone with very strong sd652 processor with Nice 18.9 lcd ratio....shall this be released here in philippines??

  • 500 €?For that price one plus 5t or Xiaomi mi 6 for 380€ with also far better specs.

  • finaly dual cam ....great job htc.

  • Capture screenshot?

  • IP67 on HTC unbelievable. Anyway Xiaomi A1 have similar specs for 220 eur apart from IP67. Having IP67 for extra 200 bucks no thanks i am not that clumsy.

  • What's that 4th soft button on right side??

  • Would that please you?

  • those midrange phone must have 3.5jack

  • Can this company give up already?

  • fully agree

  • just look at what sharp do in couple months ago they release aquos s2 with two optihon sd630 sd660 and after a while they release aquos s3 with 18:9 screen watch & learn

  • I dont even call this a phone but a PHABLET!!!!

  • RIP HTC, its 2018 still using 2016 SoC and overprice? Also you using MELTDOWN/SPECTRE prone SoC!!! Flop..... Glad this company is dying

  • they didi not use sd630 or 660 or 636 just because of htc u11 life, with sd630 if they sport htc u11 eye with one of these sd630, 660, 636 who wanna go to buy life with poor battery they did not use sd625, sd626, just because of these chipset are similar to each other they do not risk,so they forced to use sd652 a big mistake from htc, must release u11 life, before several months ago with sd625,626,630 with good battery! after months they sell it good as they expected after that will time for sd660 the release date of life & eye, almost close to each other

  • Indeed, 652 is old news, years ago. 6" is waaay too big though.

  • Most of the other manufacturers are doing the same. Copying every ludricous move by apple. Because they think that it will somehow allow them to be successful and competitive.

  • Why not SD 660? SD 652 is a thing of past. HTC has a really sickness off using old chips.

  • Hm. If this would have a newer CPU, and priced right it could be a success I believe. We will see what will happen. I bleieve the biggest problem with this phone will be the size. Believe me, a 160 mm tall phone is too big to fit in every pocket comfortably.

  • why (uses SIM 2 slot), why not dedicated slot. why why why???

  • no dedicated memory card slot

  • Perfect, please careful with the price. No more than 399!

  • LOL, so i guess even if their sales drop to almost zero, they still won't get it and will insist we don't need the 3.5mm jack? Despite the fact that they themselves still manufacture wired headphones and they also put a usb dongle in the box so not only they lose money from people who won't buy the phone because of that, but they also lose money from not selling some of their headphones and giving away usb dongles that cost money too. Are they insane or yes...?

  • Nice!

  • All Snapdragon 652 devices are very hot have heating issue Htc can use 660 instead hot 652
