This was my first smartphone back in 2011. Crazy how bad it was compared to today's phones. I have the Galaxy S10 plus and it's a completely different animal.

I had an order flip phone for years. I finally decided to get a "smart" phone. I purchased a refurbished Huawei 3.6.? and it worked alright. It'd boot me off the internet 20-3 times per day and return me to the desk top. It'd shut off and turn itself back on once or twice per day, but for $20 I figured WTH. Than I knelt down on the phone and cracked the screen. I was kindda happy with the phone so I bought an upgraded refurbished phone (Huawei H868C 4.0.4). What a complete POS!!! It'd boot me off the net 15-20 per day and return me to the desk top. It'd turn itself on and off 8-10 per day. I tried everything, even to go as far as completely wiping out everything and returning it to it's original state. I'll NEVER purchase another thing from Huawei (Who Are We. You're a company that sells GARBAGE) ever again.

I had used huawei honor 6 phone for 11 months without any issue except it gets restarts automatically. After 11 months, auto restart issue arises, as phone was under warranty, I submitted in one of the authorized center for repair. As per service center executive, it takes 15 days for a phone to get repaired (as phone sent to Chennai for repairing) and reach back to customer, and max 20 days. But in my case even after 30 days, I was not have any idea or status about the phone. Forget me, even service center executive is not aware about phone status and more surprisingly even the huawei customer care support team also dont know about the phone status. Every time I call customer care, they said sorry to me, ask me to wait, and keep on saying me that my issue is escalated and forwarded to concern department and they are dealing this issue on priority. This drama keeps going for around 1 week. After 37 days, when I again call to service center executive, he said that he got the update from huawei that they lost/misplaced my cell phone. This appears as a shock, and when I call on customer care they used to give same reply, then even keep on sending me same kind of emails containing apology and my issue has escalated to concern department. This experience with Huawei service was very pathetic, disappointing and bad. And after 38 days they said that they would provide me a refurbished phone instead of new one. I asked them to provide me a new replacement as my cell was in good condition and has lost by them under their custody. I am about to receive phone, If I will get a new replacement then it would be ok else legal actions to be taken against them as I had suffer so many days due to their irresponsible and non cooperative attitude and behavior.

This is really the most ridiculous phone I've ever had, and I"m old, so I"ve had many. Great screen size, but the type face is uselessly small, so they don't make use of it. It's really just a camera - the pictures are clear, but everything else is nonsensical. Have the inventors of this phone ever use ANY other smartphone before? I have an cheap LG phone that is head and shoulders better! It's really just awful, and it isn't cheap. If you can't get an iPhone, go for one of the known brands - LG, Samsung, anybody else. Seriously.

Going to try to be calm because I'm actually quite frustrated right now. I got this phone a year ago and had problems with it since the beginning. First it would randomly restart whenever I sent a text. At least then it would boot up normally at first but then after I had it for half a year, it started giving me errors after every restart and the only way to fix it was to remove the battery and hope it decided to work. I am not exaggerating when I say this would take an hour at the very least. And yes, it has reset during emergencies. When I came home for Summer break, it got so bad that I had to wipe the data files. It would simply not boot up. Yes, I tried clearing the caches first. It did nothing. I am a college student and I lost all the numbers of people I had met over the semester so this was more than a little inconvenient. It worked fine for three months before it started resetting again. This month marks the year I have had it and it has been giving me the error message for three hours straight. It's been resetting multiple times throughout the day (which is unfortunately considered normal for me) but this is the first time it's taken over an hour to reset since I last wiped it. I see no other option but to wipe it's data files again and once more, lose all the numbers I've collected over this new semester. I have not used it for the internet. I used it strictly for calling and texting people, which given its behavior, that alone was near impossible. I can't imagine what it'd have been like to try and use the internet. I'm writing this so hopefully anyone thinking of getting a new phone will read what a worthless brand this is and will move past it. You should not waste your money on this phone. I mean it when I say this is the worst phone I've ever had in my life. Thankfully I got a new phone and hopefully it comes soon so I can actually keep the numbers of my contacts this time. Huawei, I award you no points and may God have mercy on your soul.

Never ever again. Good and cheap only if you want to ring someone. Do not rely on it for internet or text. Heard that the CIA were investigating and tried to type a text to a news channel about the phone. As soon as I typed in Chinese government the phone shut down for 2 hours came back on by itself and now can type anything.DO NOT TRUST THIS PHONE OR WHO MAKES IT

This mobile is still selling ? why they should pay you to take it . The mp3 player works . the camera works . imersed in water it did not seem to work as well . The only recomendation for this mobile is to flush it down the toilet.

SO this was the first smart phone I ever had, so beware, yes, nostalgia is a factor. but not to much, I actually didn't see this as a half bad phone. yes, it did lag sometimes, and I had to watch my apps, but at the time I didn't know anything else and it was fine, I just got another one and used it, yes, it was a step down from the HTC One I am used to, but it wasn't terrible, I was able to get my favorite little fun game, I got my favorite social media app, and the had room for my music, but that's about it, but honestly People are saying this is a bad phone, but its context, this isn't meant to be a flagship, and it was a low end phone released in 2011 (I think) so its not great, but the deign is great, its thick, but I really don't see a need for a super thin phone. this phone is durable as all hell, I threw this thing across rooms and it was fine (just to test of course) it is a very nice size, I love the one handedness of this phone, it was so nice to be able to not have to shuffle my hand around the phone to use it. now the cons, it has very little storage, 4.5gbs counting the sd card, but that was enough at the time, now, maybe not now, but its not meant for the big apps, one thing that really bugged me though, is no multi touch, yes you heard me, no pinching the screen or anything like that, nothing. It really bugged me the whole time and is and was my biggest complaint. Now the camera, it doesn't have a front facing, and the rear facing is 5 megapixels, but for the price, its a decent camera, I was able to take some photos that I still use on my new phone for backgrounds and things, so it is a good camera, but not every time, low light was grainy and very dark, and also forget you selfie game. battery battery on this thing is great, my experience with it was just great, I streamed video, played music, gamed on simple games, and texted non stop all day, and it would be at 20% at the end of the day, it was reliable and if yours isnt, well remove the back and pop in another battery. so my experience with it was great. Overall it is phone that you get what you pay for, $30 isn't alot of money at all for a phone and its a good phone for what you pay for, now would I suggest this to you? no. not in early 2015, you should get something better now, go for $100 and you got yourself a good phone. But at the time it was a darn good phone, running stock Android (mine did at least) and a great size with a "good" camera.

PMSL this is one of the worst mobiles out there It will call out at random. It will not phone out when you need it to. it will phone the last number you tried to ring. It will lock up from time to time. Very little memory on board the mobile its self. I gave this phone up after one month. Refurbished I'm glad I did not pay full price for this mobile. I got 19 dollars of amusement out of the mobile plus the 40 dollars to activate it. End of the day don't spend anything on this mobile.

No memory, can't get updates, has actually deleted apps that wouldn't update, so now I have no watsapp or viber , no TVs portal, no games at all, it is the worst phone I have ever had the misfortune of owning, and the battery only lasts 12hrs Max. Can't wait to get a new non-Huawei phone.

Im starting to think this phone is driving me insane! Keyboard vanishes when I am mid typing and it is so slow that I could throw it out the window. I decides for itself when to switch off and the screen jumps, therefore selecting something on the screen when I have actually selected something else. As soon as I can change my phone I will.

Android phones all seem to be pretty much the same. I really like the screen size on this Ascend and the bettery life is amazing. Can't see much difference between this Huawei and a Samsung except the price. Save $300 and buy an Ascend.

I hate this phone. It crashes everything and takes 15 minutes to even load Facebook initially, let alone when I scroll or anything. Instagram would only load if I had full bars. It hardly ever actually sent any of my tweets. I would receive texts multiple times, even days after I had initially received them, and the same way with sending texts from what I've been told. If I made a call, I would either have to turn my phone off or wait 10 or so minutes before I could make another call. The browser was constantly crashing, the keyboard was way undersensitive, and swype never worked right on it. When I first got it, it wouldn't boot for a week without a hard reset. I was getting ready to send it back in, and it turned itself off and back on and it would boot. I'm willing to believe that I got a faulty one, but I've never read a review that said they really liked the phone. (if anything, it was always, "I like it for the price" or "I like it, but"). The few positives were that it never overheated (that's been a problem for me with budget smartphones in the past), the battery life is still awesome (I use it for a music player now), and though the gps takes forever to actually load, it takes you the best route and the battery lasts for a decent amount of time using the gps. Also, with the gps, it very rarely crashed, but when it did, you could open it back to exactly the point you had been, no trouble.

This phone is an unmitigated piece of trash. From Day 1 I had nothing but issues; when trying to open received MMS there was insufficient memory, when trying to install or even upgrade the preloaded software there were "insufficient memory" error messages. Then, joy of joys, it started, at random times, playing all the ringtones as if they were on a playlist. The phone was new one month ago. I replaced this $129 phone with a $29 phone that thus far is working fine and giving me no trouble at all.

I hate this piece of shit!!! It doesn't charge. The speakers are so quiet no one can hear them. It deletes everything I type every time I press the space bar. It has little to no storage it is always "loading" as it likes to say every time I go to the home screen. It changes my wallpaper on it's own every time I change it. Less than an hour later it changes to the same ugly assed thing it was to begin with. I can not use the internet without it "updating"

I didn't even have the phone for a month and lost all the sound completely. Then all of a sudden I have hundreds of YouTube videos from someone's account . I purchased this phone because I wanted to be able to video the grand kids on short notice when they came over.no sound makes this phone utterly useless! Well I think the majority have said it in a nutshell. I only use it for occasional calls and txting. I can't even answer all my calls because it freezes and when I'm txting it keeps on jumping to the 'recent' screen. If I use the internet it jumps to the 'recent' screen too so I only do go onto that if I am really desperate. Sometimes when I go to txt my last message that has been sent is again in the txt box when I hit the keyboard so I have to first delete that before I can type a new txt. It's is a frustrating phone. Should of known! Cheap and nasty!

If you're looking for a crappy phone look no further. Ive owned some useless phones in my time, but Huawei models certainly triumph. 2 hours after starting my new phone .. I get a message "insufficient memory" (this is only after installing 1 application Whatsapp ...17mb)... ive tried all sorts of fixes.... 16gb SD card..etc etc etc... but to no avail. Apps that install rarely work as they should... issues to many to mention. I cant believe the New Zealand government was actually stupid enough to use Huawei hardware for their broadband rollout (alleged backdoors, spyware and all).... OMG .. the lunatics are obviously running the asylum. Huawei... please focus a little less on price point and a little more on real world usability. I will NEVER buy your product again.

you have to system clear it .. like completely wipe it out.. hold the up volume button and the power button the go to system wipe out or something like that and then after that click system reboot and it should work

Had this phone 5 days. 5 days of turning itself off, rebooting, freezing and just plain annoying! I honestly expected better from Huawei! Selling this piece of worthless tech to CEX, sticking to Samsung or Sony Ericsson for my next phone, never had any problems with those!

I've had this phone for just over a year. I have some music on it and five extra apps. It's really slow. It also crashes randomly. Recently it started turning itself off randomly. It acts like it's turning on but it just freezes. I then have to take the battery out and put it bak in and turn on my phone. This was a waste off $98!

Had this phone since 2013. It's a piece of crap. Crashes constantly, but figured a trick to get it back online. Only good thing about this was I only paid $50 for it at WalMart online. Guess I could use it as an MP3 player when I get another phone. If you wanna try it (which I don't suggest), it's going cheap for $65 refurbished w/$45 phone card at WalMart online...

It randomly restarts about 20+ times per day. this phone is a piece of shit. i got it for Christmas and it was a waste of money for my dad, i only had it for two months, never dropped it once. the only time i dropped it it broke immediately the sad part is i only dropped it less than two feet off the ground, the screen broke. it would kick me off the internet, when i tried to call people sometimes the sound wouldn't work, none of my apps wanted to respond, this is the worst phone I've ever had, a bar phone would be a better choice than this crappy thing.

What a load of proverbial. I am so close to throwing this phone into the bin. I'm sure its got a mind of its own. Regularly lose the keyboard when sending messages also music cuts out when I send a message. I am very dissatisfied. 3/10 and thats being generous.

Hi, I loved this post. However, I've got to say that this phone markets itself as a competitor to the big smart phones out there. It uses an operating system designed to do certain things, and the customers have expectations that aren't being met. I think it's reasonable that people are leaving reviews to take their business to phone makers who really do deliver on their promises.

I bought this phone at a T Mobile store in Fort Lauderdale, FL. My previous HTC phone broke. I bought this phone because it was all my budget would allow. It has been hell every since. It is so painfully slow with everything it does. Even making a phone call the phone freezes up and won't dial. Adding new contacts even text messaging freezes constantly. I think this is by far the worst phone I have ever had. Phones I've had ten years ago performed much better. I can't wait until I can afford a real phone. I will smash this piece up junk into a million pieces. Shame on you Huawei for making garbage like this. I hope your company goes bankrupt. Shame on you T Mobile for selling such garbage in your stores. Please listen to these posts and do not buy any Huawei products. I never will again.

Goood looking 'PAPER-WEIGHT'. Battery life is a joke. With full charge, make only 2 - 3 calls w/ no apps usage and 16 hours later battery is dead. Qwerty keyboad difficult (for me) to use. I'm not an 'apps' user, so I should not be trying to use this phone anyway; but the battery life should be lots longer.

I've had this phone for almost 4 months, and since day one, all my apps have crashed. I play candy crush alot and it will not even load half the time, if it does load it just crashed as returns back to my home screen. This happens with facebook and words with friends, i havent really tried many more because...what's the point? I have also researched it and have found A LOT of people are having problems with this phone!

Your about to not like me, 600mhz is the speed of my first gateway laptop that cost a small fortune when I was young and I'm not even that old now. I'm horrified at the way you kids, especially my own kids acts about these phones, Even my own wife sometimes. I got her a 3g Nokia smart phone, with a 225 dollar price tag with contract that she broke, cause you kids and girls throw them down when it takes them five seconds to load anything. I am using said old laptop with Linux and you kids couldn't work it cause 1. you don't know how to use anything that isn't touch anymore and 2. you don't have the patience. I am on Facebook and I am writing this with no problem because i click the tab and wait for the page to load. 4gb not enough room for you? my first desktop was upgraded to a 1gb hard drive so I could play some of the same quality games they now charge you 50 bucks for, 480p is average HD! they are selling you 720p sometimes, but 480p isn't low quality, not considering its on a device you can hold in the palm of your hand and original HD is 480p ...so you think you are getting something special with that 400 dollar phone you just bought? your not my old DVD player can do that quality. also my friend has that phone and she loves it probably again cause she isn't a kid! When I was a kid by the way..I had to walk at least 4 or 5 blocks...to use grandmas house phone and you couldn't watch movies anywhere you wanted. you had to go to blockbuster and rent it and it was a treat. this phone is for people who want to watch a video now and then, or make phone calls and text messages or maybe Facebook. okay sure maybe you cant Skype with it or play the latest games and Apps.... since when did a phone become your whole lives? its pretty pathetic the way your treating technology and each other.

This is honestly the worst phone I've ever had in my entire life. I'm on the third one because it keeps messing up. I've had almost every problem mentioned in the rest of these reviews. - EXTREMELY slow and force closes most apps. - EXTREMELY low on space (I have Facebook and Instagram, and my contacts. That's about it, and it's constantly low on space even after clearing any cache for websites, etc.) - Low quality camera. Very pixelated with no flash, so you have to be in a fairly bright setting to get a good picture of anything. - Phone turns off and reboots randomly. - You send one text to someone and that person receives it 5 or 6 times, and vice versa. You also get texts in an untimely matter (delayed most of the time and also out of order, which makes multiple texts extremely inconvenient to have to decipher.) - Very bad service, which corresponds with the multiple texts statement. - Calling someone is a hassle as well. You tap the send button on a phone number and it takes anywhere between 4-10 seconds to actually call, and even then, it doesn't start ringing immediately. Since the phone is unbelievably slow, taking someones number is almost an embarrassing experience. You tap the dialer icon and it takes a second to come up, so you start typing in the number and it lags to all hell. It takes about 15 seconds to take down a simple number (not including contact name) when it should take 5, so you're just sitting there like "Wait, can you repeat that about 4 more times, or go slower? My phone is horrible and I am so sorry." All in all, this phone is a 0/10. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME. Unless you have a lot of patience, don't plan to use any apps like Facebook (or virtually anything else...) and don't have that many friends/contacts, just find something else. I could go on further about what a piece of garbage this phone is, but everyone else already beat me to it. Not worth a penny of the $150 I paid for it and Cricket is garbage. $65 a month for trash, so I am switching to T-Mobile in a week and getting a Galaxy S Relay FOR THE SAME PRICE PER MONTH. Phone included! I plan on smashing this phone, setting it on fire and then kicking it into the bay when I get my new phone.

I liked this phone at first. Now, a couple months later, I hate it! This IS the worst phone I have EVER owned. If I turn it off, I don't know if I'll ever get it to boot back up. I've sat with this ridiculous phone, taking the battery out, putting it back in, starting the phone up (1, 2, 3, and repeat!) sometimes 10-20 times for it to sit there "loading" but never getting past that point. One time, the battery died and it wouldn't load up after i charged it for a bit. Well, I turned it off and left it to charge. A little while later, checked on the phone, it was molten hot! And it was off, charging! Then it never wanted to boot up. I probably took the battery out 30 times! I'm getting a iPhone! I'm done with android, this phone will make a nice paperweight. Piece of junk!

I got my ascend II for free (loyalty points) and still feel like I've been ripped off. The web browser constantly crashes, as well as most other apps that I try to run, and it reboots for no apparent reason at least once a day. Do yourself a favor and buy any other phone than this cheap piece of trash.

i got this phone in december 2012. same as the rest of you guys..it automatically quit charging. net10 diagnosed the battery..they sent a new one.the phone drained it completely. very seldom i can get it to come on without the battery. my daily goal is to keep messing with it, maybe 9maybe one day it will decide to charge)..charge it long enough to take it to the cell phone kiosk that buys cell phones. do not buy this phone...

my phone is a piece of crap. i have only had it for three months and I like the phone and its abilities but the little things it does makes it a piece of crap. it will force close on web sites and apps. sometimes when i am typing i will type a word and when i hit the space bar it erases the word and will not let me type. when i am trying to call someone i will push the send button and it will not do anything. it is a slow piece of crap.

Horrible smartphone. I know it is cheap, but do the smart thing and spend a little more money to buy something better. It is rare to find an app or a webpage that doesn't force close. The keyboard will not work most the time. The only saving grace of this phone is the long battery time compared to other smartphones I have had. Maybe this is because the only apps I can run are low graphic and use very low processor. I miss my old phone.

Its not all bad for me. I have Facebook, Instagram, Wattpad and Photo Editor by Aviary, and my phone is all good. Mine is from Straighttalk as well. So yea, that's me XD HOWEVER, I did have to reset my WHOLE phone once because every time I turned it on, it would say that the phone has stopped working, so be careful about how much stuff you put on there and clean in up every once in a while. :)

Please be advised i have had the ascend II phone since october 2011. The biggest complaint is the battery does not hold charge. 3 hours puts it at 40%. Buy a car charger and put in your glove compartment. Take along your electrical one too. This phone does work efficiently if you treat it right. It is not designed for heavy usage. It only cost $70.

Ive had this phone for idk maybe a year now and to be honest the phone is horrible, I never had any problems with the first acsend but this is just complete crap. I can never take my phone off the charger because one minute the battery is full the next its drained, another problem I had is that the phone is dramatically slow and turns off in the middle of things.Also for some odd reason all of my photos were deleted, every last bit of them and I tried to replace the photos until it said 'there is no more space try deleting some things then try again' this phone should not be recommended to anyone unless I'm just using the phone incorrectly which I doubt. If you're wanting to get a new phone don't get this one, I suggest the first acsend if that's your only options. I'm going to be getting the Samsung galaxy s4 in a few weeks,hopefully its not a big disappointment like this one. Oh and btw not trying to attract any negative comments Im just stating my opinion about the phone

If u do update them it comes with something that makes it slow... plus all the texts,phone calls, n using the internet wit ur legit password from home cause its eazyer for it to get the virus! !! @rahrah I wouldn't call a phone not powering on or battery life depleting as it's plugged to a charger simply "something wrong". "Something wrong" is an understatement. I can take a grainy picture or low storage even. You're right, it's not a computer, it's a phone. Therefore, I expect it to operate as such. It can't do that if it won't even power on, or just shuts itself down in the middle of a call. I can't speak for everyone else, but I wouldn't be "sitting behind a computer complaining" if I had no reason to. Do you work for the company who manurfactured this failing product? You sound like you do.

I'm back to recant my previous statement about this not being a terrible phone. It actually is a terrible. Absolutely horrible. I now have a new problem altogether. My phone will no hold a charge. No matter what. As a matter of fact it can be plugged into a charger and the battery life still drains. It is totally ridiculous. Just like the audio port died out of the blue, my phone will not charge out of the blue. I am so sick of this crap. I will never purchased another one. Waste of $70! I would not recommend this phone to anyone. No wonder it was on sale... For starters, there is virtually no storage space. If you get an app, and then delete the app, it will still have "low storage space". I had four apps, and yet I see in notifications that I have "low storage space". Second, the battery life sucks. It can barely last about three hours, correct me if I'm wrong. Finally, it takes forever to download apps. It also constantly crashes when using apps, and tends to freeze when it's on the Internet. So, your only option is to turn it off and then back on, which gets annoying. I still have the phone, which I'm planning to give away to some unlucky person, and now I have an iPhone 4, which I love. I always now have a plan wig Sprint instead of Cricket. If you have the Huawei Ascend II, I would suggest selling it, or giving it away and getting a new phone. You can get a different smartphone for a low price, with a contract, but eh, I got my iPhone 4 for free with a two year contract, and I'm happy.

This phone is the worst phone I have ever owned. I have had basic phones that worked better than this one. At first it was great but it seems like when you uninstall a program it still keeps some of the storage space unusable and so eventually you cannot download any new apps. I have deleted all of my text messages, pictures, videos, and un synced my email, and uninstalled all but Words with Friends and it still says it is low on memory. And when it is low on memory the phone cannot receive emails or any kind of notification other than a text message. Do not buy this phone ever. The speed is terrible as well. Takes forever to go from app to app.

This is a terrible phone. I am so sorry I wasted my money. The First Ascend was pretty good so I figured the II would be excellent. I was wrong. I only have 4 basic apps downloaded, (notepad, calendar, antivirus, facebook)but I continually have the "low phone storage" warning coming up. This is supposed to be a Muve Music phone, but the program wont even register due to "insufficient storage" on the phone. I barely have anything on my phone!!!! And when the phone has the low storage, it wont run properly. It wont keep signal, you cant dial. TERRIBLE phone.

Having sold my iPhone 4 I decided to have a go with an Android phone but didn't want to spend a lot of money so I bought the Huawei G300. The phone was ok at the beginning but now apps keep crashing, sometimes all of them, even contacts, messaging and the dialing pad so I'm having to hard reset at least once a week and reinstall all apps again as simply restarting or turning off then on again won't solve the crashing problems. I thought it was a problem with my handset in particular but reading the comments here makes me even more frustrated as realised that the phone itself is a lot of crap and not that I was unlucky with a bad handset.

I have the same problem too. I think it may have to do with the class speed of your MircoSD card. Mine was a Class 4, I'm upgrading to a class 10, we'll see if that fixes the problem.

I have problems with my phone cutting off when I try to go into the gallery to download or look at pictures. Sometimes it will do it when I try to turn the camera on. When I took it back to the store it wouldn't do it, as soon as I left it started again. I am frustrated and as soon as my contract is up I will be changing phones.

I bought this phone in August. Just about one month ago the audio jack (which really isn't a jack at all) just stopped working for no apparent reason. It was so frustrating since I keep music in my ears for most of the day. Anyway, soon after that text app began crashing on a daily basis. Then all other apps starting doing the same. I'd find myself having to re-boot it tens of times a day. I ended up having to do a factory reset. I back up all of my data, pics, music, etc. on flashes so I wasn't totally out of luck. The phone works just now fine except that the audio "jack" is still messed up so my music still only plays out of the speaker. I don't think that this is a terrible phone, I just think that I wasn't keeping up with maintenance as I should have. I ran it like it couldn't handle loads of crap that it simply could not. That is evident by the fact that now since I have started over, it runs as smoothly as it did the first day I had it.

Like the other posters said it's not an iPhone or a Galaxy, but for the money($100USD), it's the best phone Straight Talk offers. I've had it since June of '12 and have have few problems with it and much enjoyment. It's my new swiss army knife.

The screen continually freezes so that NOT ONE action that I have started has been finished. I try to text, it freezes. I try to get into an app.; it freezes. I try to unlock so I can answer a call; it freezes. This is a terrible, terrible, terrible phone. I thought the cause of its poor performance was my fault. So I had other people try to use it. I actually really like this phone. I have juicedefender, and my battery is stock and lasts a couple days. I downloaded ram booster, which keeps it running fast even with golauncher installed. Doesn't run Netflix very well, but YouTube is pretty good. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have multi touch. I'm an avid Pokemon player (which sometimes freezes up while I'm playing, but it's a crappy emulator anyways), but really, my old phone had multi touch and I miss it. And the landscape keyboard ticks me off. There's nothing wrong with it, I like it, but I have some muffed up nerves in my right thumb from a run in with a can of black beans, and the buttons don't register sometimes cuz of that. Nice camera too. And if there was a way to delete voicemails without having to listen to them, that would be awesome. Also if there was a built in stylus. Those make me feel important.

I've had it 8 months and I finally have the money to buy something good. This phone is terrible. Pros + got it in a half off deal. + far and few, but i like the expansion to 32 gig capability. + Voice is pretty clear. Cons - Battery life is extremely short, buy a battery on ebay that is 3 times the life for 10 bucks. - I'd often have to factory reset, as gps, 3g and wifi wouldn't work. - With little things like texting, the phone stalls and closes with errors. - It shuts off and turns back on when it wants - apps would often not work - DO NOT DROP IT, I dropped it twice and the head phone jack would not work.

Due to the phone shutting off on its own, resetting itself, not receveing my text msgs or calls. Reset my settings such as wallpapers, ringtones & so on. Got another one same thing. Then 2 weeks ago the phone froze allowing me to do nothing, got another one & last night the phone froze again!! If you want to do the following, do not purchase this phone: (1) Use apps. The phone's processor can't handle 99% of the apps on Google Play. (2) Text message. The default android messaging application crashes repeatedly. (3) Actually use the phone. The Huawei Ascend 2 shuts off by itself for not apparent reason. Yeah, Like a lot of people have said, a Smartphone isn't really a smart PHONE, it's a pocket PC with a telephone app. You can't handle them like an old style Flip Phone, or even a Slider Feature Phone. They're high maintenance and take a lot of TLC. If you treat'em like a lady, though, they'll almost always phone home.

I have had a lot of problems with this phone and its performance has been poor. The most significant problem has been the port for the charger, which sunk in and apparently malfunctioned. I researched this online and this appears to be a common problem based on its design, so I would be very cautious about buying it based on that alone. Apart from this, the battery life is very, very short. Sometimes the phone also freezes when I use apps. I also think the camera is subpar. I apologize if this review comes across as negative, but for a basic smartphone, it's a decent value. Again, the malfunctioning of the port for charging the phone and short battery life should be taken into account.

To Amber: download superbox. It has the option to back up apps and move stuff to card. If all ur apps r bcked up, even if u get a new phone but use the same sd card. Download this app and go into file manager (on this app) and all ur apps will be there and u can just reinstall them

It will be a redurbished phone but it will be better than what ur dealing with now and if not take it back. I had this ohone for the last year. I jyst now got the mercury last week for my bday. WORST PHONE EVER. I'm 14 and I got it for my 14th birthday a few months back. OMG, It is so slow, it freezes up like every few minutes, you can't download things or whatever because if it freezes it will just say it downloading when its not. Its finally broken, like just today I fully charged it and then when I was on the bus to the mall it was like BAM. It just wouldn't turn on. I tried charging it overnight and it will turn on, but when i take the charger out or dim the screen it turns off. Most unreliable thing I have ever owned -_- I paid like $200, worst spent money OF MY LIFE.

same here, it continues in a boot loop, i hate and desperate for this phone, in 25 days i got this problems, i didn't do anything, and i don't have SD card to put in, prove to the customer that your new release phone huawei can make it on the top. at first, i experienced to automatic closed of applications, then when I turn on it will stay and continue to re loop in BOOT. From what I've seen. Im sure most of it is operator error. People don't understand that these android phones are mini computers. If u don't maintenance them on regular formats 1 time Mabel every other month or clear the history and cache and cookies out it will lock or run slow as times go. That's for any android or windows or computer opperating system

Hate this fucking POS! I barley use it, on mo.th one I noticed problems and it was mostly sitting on my nightstand! After 4 months I want to trash it. Freezes ALL the time, just shuts off for no apparent reason... I backed up all my data on my sd and updated...and for some reason my sd was clean empty. The internet is slow too. The phone turns itself on and off and erases everything on my sd card. over 300 songs 400 pictures..Which mad me mad because some of those pics were of a person who passed on.. They were all I had.. My cheek is always hanging up calls. From day 4 it told me I had insufficient memory and that was before I knew how to do anything with the darn thing. I only had about 30 contacts in there with just phone numbers. No FB or anything else. The manual you are able to download online to help you get to know your phone is of NO help at all. Calls drop a lot... Its not worth the price I paid for it.... They need to drop about $100 off the price. Will deal with it till I can get the extra cash to get a new phone..

I have had this phone for 6 months now... I am not very happy with it right now because it is very slow, forces apps closed a lot and just gets annoying. the camera is fair in the right lighting but there isnt a flash. no forward facing camera. overall, its a cheap smartphone and i would only recommend it to people who want to have a starter smartphone, or if you want a smartphone that isnt expensive. but if you buy it expecting that it will be the best smartphone ever, you may be in for a surprise.

I have had this phone for about 2 months now and I have not had any problems with it whatsoever. As I read all of these negative reviews I am blown away. My phone was purchased from walmart it is through straight talk. I do agree that the sprint network is 5050 when it comes to receiving a signal but most of the time I do have all of my bars. Sometimes in certain areas does drop but that is to be expected with phones. There are certain areas they could use improvement such is the camera quality in the slow processor. Other than that it's a decent phone for the price I paid I can't really complain.

First off, The phone is slow. When I'm switching between apps, or I exit the browser, and go to my home screen, it sometimes takes a few seconds for my app icons to load on the screen. 3G network SUCKS. Takes forever for some pages to load, and it even freezes my phone sometimes, and my browser crashes. I usually just end up turning my 3G off, and using my home wifi it sucks so bad. Call quality sucks. You can't do anything while you're in a call, and the sound quality is really bad. A lot of times I'm told to repeat what I say because I was either muffled or there is "fuzz" or "static". Battery life on this phone is NOTHING. It barely lasts me throughout the day, even with little calling/texting/internet browsing. And of course, the camera. First thing about the camera that I do not like; is that you CANNOT turn the camera shutter sound off, even if your phone is silent. It's really annoying, and it has prevented me from taking pictures where I normally would (I went to dinner with my husband last week, and I wanted to get a picture of the lovely table that was set up, but I knew the sound on my phone would go off, and I didn't want to disturb other guests). Second about the camera, the quality is not that great. You need a ton of light, and it's extremely pixely. My overall rating on the phone would be a 6/10. It's cute, looks nice, some of the features are great; but the overall quality is frustrating. It's $100, and I wish I hadn't paid that much. They should reduce it to $50. Honestly.

I love everything this phone can do and the availability of Android apps. HOWEVER, because it is on Straight Talk and uses Sprint as it's carrier, it's extremely hard to get a signal. I have Sprint cell towers all around my home, the closest being 753 meters away, others at 1200 meters or closer. For whatever reason, it constantly switches from tower to tower for now apparent reason. I know it's normal to switch occasionally due to volume of traffic, best signal, etc. But the Huawei Ascend II frantically switches constantly. Even with towers close enough to get a good signal, I very seldom can complete a 3 minute conversation without at least one drop, sometimes more. Getting extremely tired of having to step outside to try to keep a connection. I purchased a passive cell antenna booster, which works extremely well for every phone I tested, but does nothing for the Huawei. Every other phone and carrier shows an increase of 2 to 4 bars with the passive booster, which is rated at a 7 db increase. The Huawei Ascend II totally ignores the boosted signal. I've used Straight Talk for some time and used a number of different phones. While the signal hasn't always been optimal, they have been usable, regardless of the carrier. I spent an hour trying to communicate with Straight Talk Customer service and actually ended up with a representative who not only spoke fluent English, but understood English as well (was educated in the U.S.). Told him about the reception problems and was told that they would gladly exchange the phone for another just like it. I made it clear that it appeared that everyone had the same problems with the phone. He refused to acknowledge there was a problem. I simply needed to make arrangements to return the phone and they would send another. Two weeks without a phone??? Sorry, can't do that. Especially when I know I will have exactly the same problem. Originally, Straight said they would let me trade it for a similar Android on Verizon. All I had to do was pay them an additional $179 and change and do without for 2 weeks. The other phone fewer features, camera dropped to a 3 Megapixel, etc. It did have a bigger processor and switching to Verizon as a carrier certainly would help. I have a much lower opinion of Straight Talk after being stuck with this phone. I have had not problems with bloatware. It's fairly simple to keep the "junk" from starting, even without rooting the phone. Why Straight Talk makes it so that it won't work with the passive antenna is beyond me (the phone shouldn't even know it's being used). It works with other Sprint phones, both regular and pre-paid....but not with the Huawei. If Straight Talk continues to deny there's a problem, I guess I'll go elsewhere.

I thought it was just me but this phone is a POS. The battery doesn't make it through the day. My cheek makes me hang up on calls. The phone randomly calls people after I hang up from a call. The sound quality of calls is extremely poor. The sound quality of voice mails is HIDEOUS, almost worthless. It is beyond slow. Full of bloatware. No flash and only a virtual button for the camera. It keeps turning the volume for calls down so I never hear it, and it has stopped notifying me altogether for texts so I don't see them for hours unless I constantly check. I have searched the menu for hours trying to fix this. Maybe someone can tell me how to fix that but I hate this phone so bad I don' even care any more. It is such a hassle and I can't afford a better one. I feel like a sucker - it's my first smart phone and I didn't know any better.

Just got this phone like 2 months ago and its been acting crazy lately it keeps saying that my apps like twitter instagram browser and now even my messaging that it has stopped unexpectantly and ive tried taking the battery out and cutting it on and it keeps doing it its done it all day and sometimes my twxt msgs wont come thru itll say memory full when i have like to 10 messages in my inbox so im about to call customer service and see whats up

WORST piece of garbage phone ever! Terrible reception. It makes me hang up all the time when I am on it due to the end call button being touch activated during the call. My cheek is always hanging up on people so I have to lock my phone every time I am on it. The phone is super slow. It takes a good 2-3 minutes to start up and at least a minute to pull up any pictures. Internet speed is terrible also even on 3g. Call quality is THE WORST, even with five bars. I am always breaking up on calls. I went to sell this phone back to Cricket after buying it for $149. They wouldn't even give me $10 for it like new. I hate this phone!!!!!!!!!

Why after one month of purchasing the Huawei Ascend II, the thing stopped working? The battery needed charged about every 3 hours, then yesterday BAM, it didn't charge at all and the Huawei logo screen was on all the time. WHAT'S THE DEAL? After reading over the other opinions, I realize I am not alone. NOW what do I do??? I need a phone that is reliable. OH, and it's not a simple, take the battery out and start over; leave the battery in and the logo on and let it drain and try again; or swapping batteries for a new one -- NOTHING WORKS!!! I am amazed that this phone worked only one month!!! I am gentle with my phones and they usally last me YEARS and this was the most expensive phone I've ever purchased and the first Android, I did expect more!

I've had my phone for a while and its been great bit I discovered a similar problem, well I found out the picture was actually from an app I downloaded and i deleted the app and it went away completely

This was my first smartphone and it sucks. Its buggy. The phone dialer will call the wrong person. For example I chose my Mom to call, the screen showed I was connected to her but the phone dialed my husband. It happens daily. The phone turns itself off randomly, the GPS is almost always two turns behind, the social notifications screen has been stuck since day one. It's slow. It's like an old virus infected computer, except it's not infected according to the security program. This has been an unfortunate intro to smartphones and I'm going back to my old Razor. I picked this phone because it was cheap And I got what I paid for.

I have this phone and the only problem ive noticed is this picture that showed up in my phone and I have no idea who the person is. I have deleted the picture several times and it comes back days later. I have called the company for help and they told me to just delete it, but to no avail. Additionally, the pic of this person was not takin with myphone. If anyone could help it'd be GREATLY appreciated.

I purchased an Accend II for about 250.00 and it stopped working 31 days after the purches. The screen was stuck on the start up page. I took it back and was able to exchange it due to the problem being a manufacturing defect. I received my 2nd Accend II and immediately had issues receiving phone calls. When my number was dialed, there was just dead air, no ringing and of course no ringing on my end to inform me of an icoming call. In addition, I would not receive texts in a timely manner. Text would compile and periodicaly I would receive them all at once. I went to the cleartalk store one week after this and was treated horribly. I ended up spending more than an hour each day for four days in a row letting personel trouble shoot the phone, then I was told it was due to the company working on the towers and to wait another day etc. Finally I went in on the 4th time and asked for a new phone. They showed me a red Samsung phone that was very similar and I said I would give it a try. The phone does not have the same features which bummed me out. Even worse however, it was only 59 dollars cheaper. THere is no case for this phone so i asked for a refund onthe case i purchaed for the accend and was told no, that I am stuck with the case because 30 days had passed. For the refund of the difference howerver, I originally paid with a debit card and was told I could not get a refund on my card, that I will have to wait 20 days to receive a check. Sounds like a bunch of bull, but I just wanted to get a phone that worked so i agreed. A few days later, I realized I was sold a REFURBISHED phone. This infomrmation was not diclosed to me. I have only had this samsung for three days. I will be purchasing a new phone from straigh talk and getting a refund on this refurbished phone. I am done with cleartalk.

Huawei phones give me a head ache if I use the phone more than 5 minutes. I have to always use bluetooth to avoid headache. I have had 3 different Huawei phones and all 3 have given me head aches (my first two were the Huawie Ascend 1 and both had to get replaced, one stopped working.

I've used this phone for 9 months. Main problems are related to GPS. When use GPS, it is hard to talk on the phone. Any GPS directions that it gives while you are talking on the phone are routed through the phone speaker you are hearing conversations with. This makes it hard for you to hear others of for them to hear you. Seems to crash and reboot a few times a week. When using GPS, the map goes blank sometimes or hangs and you have to reboot (can be a hassle, sometimes I missed turns or got lost not realizing the google maps crashed and phone is not giving directions). Battery life is short. If I have it fully charged and don't use the phone it runs out of battery power in about 6 to 8 hours. It makes it hard to go very long without recharging. I end up having to turn phone off to conserve battery power but then can't receive phone calls while off. If I use the phone it runs out faster. GPS is a huge battery drain on power even thought it is plugged in to the car outlet

I usually use 4shared, and I've found that this phone has an annoying amount of bloatware. Hopefully I get to find a way to root it and as soon as I find a way I will post it here. ^^ For the music though Download an app called 4shared. there you can download almost all apps and songs in the world for free.

Rooting is something to do to your device that enables you to go to the main core of the device, the "root" or it if you will. If rooted you will be able to remove those annoying,pre installed apps(commonly referred to as bloatware.)Rooting will also give you more battery life and may even increase screen resolution capabilities. Yeah, I'm not keen on the whiners trying to hate on this phone. The Ascend 2 is a huge improvement over the original, and its a bitchin' value for the money. I nabbed mine for $70 after rebate to upgrade from my original Ascend. Seriously, if you need to hard-core game, make movies and dispense beverages, you're gonna need a more powerful phone. I'm a heavy personal+business user, and this thing keeps up just fine - never lags or drags. Are there more powerful smartphones? Of course. Do any offer a better overall value? Nada.

I had the first Huawei Ascend and loved it, it had a few screen problems but after a day or so they all went away. I loved that phone. I got this phone and it seems to have a little more lag time as well as doesnt like to turn off data, wifi, etc. It also has a hard time recieving ringtones, but there are plenty of apps to fix that. Overall the phone is great so far, only had it go crazy and call the same person over and over and over one time. If any problems occured all I did was turn off the phone then back on to kind of reset it. It works for me. Seriously, good phone but not really worth the price so far. (only had it for about a month)

download the app Green Power. It shuts down apps that constantly run in the background. I have been using the app on my droid for over a year now and love it. I text a lot so still have to charge overnight, but it does save battery.

The phone did have a few glitches in it but once i rooted it the phone works like the droid X,Or Thunder Bolt boosted the pros.from 600 to 800 battery time 400+ hrs. Phone does not lag at all net flicks works great and add WIFI Hot Spot so on and overall average i give the phone a 9.0 AFTER ROOT!!!!

It'd be great if there was another button other than on screen to take pictures. Every time I check the box for the 5 boxes in the notification bar to close, my notification bar closed itself /: web browsing takes longer than the huawei one, which doesn't make sense considering it has a faster processor. I think I like the first huawei better.

This phone calls my mum and Dad with no problems. The phone has good numbers on it and a loud ring. The phone can call all numbers if you have enough credit on it. It has a battery in it and can stand by on the charger if your battery is flat. All in all a phone that calls and costs money to call out.
