My first phone.I got it when I was 15 years old.Some very sweet and some very bitter memories are linked with it.It was only phone in my budget in those days which could play mp3 files and was in color screen.There were data cable and stylish earphones in the box.Available memory was 60 MB,I guess.I did not have any PC then.I remember how I used to go to my uncle's house every Sunday so that my cousin would fill my phone with new songs.We compressed to 32 kbps mono mp3(max 40 songs) or sometimes even in amr audio(max 70 songs). Can you believe it?There was an LED indicator,which my friends who owned VGA camera quipped Nokia phones very jealous of.Camera was not my priority then,Music of course(even though it was very low quality amr,lol!).It broke down 2 years ago.I still have some parts of it like data cable in my home which still reminds me of my first phone.

@ saurabh, You connect mobile (off mode) to pc.then copy the songs into MP3 folder (removable drive shown in My computer ) . disconnect the usb and switch it on. then u can see the files in the mp3 player. u cant delete the songs directly from the player. u have to delete it thro PC only. enjoy

well i am carrying this mobile for the past 1 nd more than quarter yr ,but i think i made a big mistake by opting it. My body has completely worn out,NO BODIES (for this mobile) AVAILABLE IN MARKET! my software gives me problem sometimes. SOUND quality not that good as i expected earlier. This cell was very easy for me to configure for using internet on comp. i would rather say that jus read ur manual properly and u will get the result. For Drivers, you will have to visit ur lg site ie "www.wowlg.com"

Having this phone has bn the best thing that has ever happenned to me phonewise. But all of a sudden it stopped working. It just wouldnt come on and neither would it charge. Hi,-:) i own this phone from last 10 months. so i want to share my experiance with others. so they can decide to buy or not to buy. i used this phone with cover and without cover condition. i found if u dont use cover then it will loose its body color soon. mp3 player is great in little silent room but you need earphone in noisy environment. The one best feature is unlimited voice recording. If your call is on and u just need to press "mp3" button to record your call. This features is most impressive to me to make mockery of someone and take it as proof against someone. Phone book is great with 300 nos. it can be charged with usb port. you have choice to store sms in simcard and memory. there are 6 no of ringtones can be asigned, u can use mp3,midi as ringtone. There are other features like BMI no can find out and 3 games. It has 60MB memory inbuilt.(it can hold 10 to 15 songs of various capacities.) It has 2 to 3 day of battery backup. It has 256K Color display. U can see various sizes of jpg,gif images. But u need to convert some images at www.mobcrop.com and set it as wallpapers. Disadvatages: no fm redio no vga camera, No java support

I just bought an LGC25000 but it did not work at all i gave the mobile for service for the second day itself they told me the PCB board is gone now they have fitted me with an another board, heard from the service center that they are getting almost 4 to 5 customers daily with the same PCB problem so beware when u r buying this phone

dont know bougt it bbut recntly bought the c2500. nice buy but the battery and network very inconsistent.the hands free kit looks like its been crafted by poor designers. you have to answer the phone from the hand set. it's fm lacks loudspeaker function and the t9 function is the worst i've seen of all the phones i've bought. it doens't support multiple charachter changes for words with the same combination of letters. otherwise everything else is fine. oh!it has a function for calculating your periods too!ha

It is good in features but not good in performance. We cant get the panel easily. It has very slow keypad response. I cant get clear tower(sometimes no tower) after changing the panel(I got clear tower when i used my old panel).The customer service of LG in india is very very worst.

hey People, I baught this mobile 6 months back it is a nice phone but there are some problems with this mobile 1. It has a backlash both keys and battery cover. 2. Network tower name is not showing. 3. I accidently droped the mobile and wanted to change the cover it costs u aroung Rs.850. Although LG has withdrawn the model. The cases are available only when u order them. 4. Some times when u connect the USB cable it wont show the USB connect sign instead i shows the recharging sign. 5. U can hear strange sounds from the ear-speaker. 6. The LG service we get in INDIA Sucks. Good MP3 quality thats the only one thing i found attractive. Otherwise its a waste. Regards, ajay

I had a G1800. I had to change it for a new one 3 times in 45 days. The problem was that when MP3 ringtones are used, the speakers would be ON even after the call is disconnected. It would produce a buzzing sound. Moreover the speakers were sucking up all the battery charge in just a day. All the sets I got as replacements showed the same problem too. Finally I got my money back and opted for a new set C 2500.

Its an excellent cell phone. Approx 15 English and 12 Hindi songs can be stored. External speaker with damn good sound quality. Good battery backup. Im really impressed with LG.

I bought it 3 months ago...and now i can say very confidently that, if you want to access gprs, listen to high quality music and surf the net in mobile wap, there is no match to this phone till time. It is sad that the company has stopped manufacturing it. I dont know the reason. And continious recording is just awesome. You can record the whole day and save it in amr file format on pc, there is no need to write a diary for urself. I know how to connect to pc to surf, specially airtel connection, If anyone wants my help , do mail me at [email protected]

For ppl needing info about drivers if u have Windows Xp 2000 u don't need any software, connect the cable and the drive will flash on the screen automatically, as far as Windows 98 is concerned i was unable to find any software on the wowlg site, u guys can try ur luck though... u can do a google search for USB drives for Windows 98 and download one... U cannot view VIDEOS as the fon is not compatable for VIDEOS...

man u guys r noobs.....4 those who cannot set the image as the wallpaper......"the image too large prob" well thats cause the dimensions of the image is bigger than tht of the screen... go to photoshop and change the dimensions to 128*128.... then u can set n e pic as a wallpaper... this phone doesnt have java so no games ...cannot watch videos.... want cool pics go to freemobilefun.com.....

Mukundan u would get a data cable along with the fon at no extra price and it's again easy to use,(the fon was RS7,000 when i bought it 4 months back ) u can download pic's, Mp3 songs but no video clips from ur PC (depending upon the size of the file)... for others, i had this empty folder prob... took it to a service center, they downloaded new software VS for me...since then my fon rocks...

Hi, If you want to increase volume of headset just follow the steps provided here.. 1. Type *#3646633# 2. Engineering Menu will appear.. 3. Follow this path --> Audio -> Headset Mode -> Melody -> Volume 5. 4. Increase Volume 5 to 206. 5. Press back. 6. Press back. 7. Set Parameter to yes.. this will save your setting. 8. This phone is good, mp3 quality through a headset is superb, better than many nokia phones, the software is very easy to use and it can connect to a PC (WindowsXP installed) without drivers and you can use it like a usb flash disk. You have to store all the mp3 files on "mp3" folder, not "audio/mp3", this is the default setting, and you can not change it (read the user manual). If the folder "mp3" doesn't exist at first, you have to create it yourself. The battery is also good. If you want a phone which can store up to about 15 mp3s (128 kbps) with superb sound quality, and you don't need bluetooth, camera...so Lg G1800 is a good choice.

Just rather stupid phone. I had Siemens M55 before it and i can say, that M55 is more claver. 1) You cant add new words in T9 2) You can't name your contacts with long names in regional lang. (for example russian) 3) You cant use any file you have on phones D-drive as ringtones - u need to add them into special list, and i dunno why is it so long if you can add no more than 3 files there. 4) You cant use your own sounds for SMS Alerting, just only internal. And they are not very fun. 5) It has no JAVA, but its not problem, problem is that games are taken from early "Dendy" 6) I CAN'T FIND ANY SOFT TO USE PHONE 's FEATURES VIA COM-PORT! if anyone knows, where to download it - plz, e-mail me, or leave me a message in ICQ 3081241

Hey, well my handsfree was not functioning properly so i went to the LG service center and it is been 15 days and i have no response from them .really the Customer Serive is equally bad as the phone which has the worst MP3 effect and even a gud song sounds bad...THANK GOD they have stopped the production of this piece..And if ne LG offfical is reading this , please look after the customer service when the cell gives trouble. i ahve been without a handsfree for more than 15 days (by the way it a mp3 phone.!!!!)...neways,if ne1 has ne idea of the cust service and ther person who needs to be contacted , please let me kwn..thanx.

Plus - Very impressed with the mp3 sound quality of the phone. Transferring mp3/photos is a breeze with win xp, for win 98 u need the drivers from wowlg.com. Good sound recorder, can also record phone converation ! A beautiful sound composer is there too. With usb stick who needs cd-rw for data upto 60mb. Got the usb charger cum data cable, hands free, a set of LG speakers with built-in amplifier with the phone - all for only 6k. So good that i bought another one for my wife too. :) Minus - Sometimes the voice we hear is very low. 'Add to contact' option missing a la Nokia. Did not find option to add a word to T9 dictionary (yet to find it out). Alarm possible only with the phone switched ON. Speakerphone is not that clear.

I was also facing the 'empty folder' problem. But then I bring it to LG Service Center. They told me that this is the Software problem, which is coming in most of the handsets. They upgraded the software which takes only few minutes (and free of cost :-) ) and it is working fine since then.

yes...mahesh..this is normal....bcoz....64mb is phones internal memory..but..certain amount of memory..is required..for phones application...wht we call as shared memory..this...is applicable to every handset and memory card

I own this phone. this work very well and the superb thing is the phonecall recording just by pressing mp3 button once in active call. This is a good phone but just one probelm. Not every wallpapers can be set as wallpapers. if image is too large then it can not be used as wallpapers. I want camers which works on usb port(Type 2). hey i've gone through the q/a on this site abt g1800. the thing is the folders image,mp3,audio are the default folders, the images folder is for storing the mms templates,images and screensavers default stored in the phone u cannot delete those folders. u can create the new folders by connecting to the pc there wont be any problem. u can increase the volume by entering the engineering menu that is *#3646633# on the idle screen but be careful adjusting it may cause distortion in the speaker when mp3 is played.so its better not to do any changes.

after 3 months of intensive use, I would overall rate this phone -just enough- 1 => the phone will NOT mount on apple computer (whatever the OS). Means, no mp3, no data transfer as its usb connectivity pretend to offer. It works properly with windows, but I don't and will not have windows computer. 2 => the phone is sort of SLOW. seems to take hours to erease an SMS 3 => It doesn't work properly in "hard-networked places" such as airports. I experienced the "no network thing" several times in diferent airports / malls... Far from these three points, the phone is well priced, light and easy to handle. Its a shame these key features do not comply with most owners are waiting for.

The Master code for LG G1800 is 2945#*# You can do almost everything with this code. 2. The Problem 'empty folder' occures when you format the drive using inbuilt file manager. This changes the default file system of the Phone Drive. This is the same case with Sound Recorder. Flash your phone to recover this problem. 3. Best phone for GPRS Internet connectivity through PC. 4. You can do more thing using *#3646633# 5. This phone does'nt suport downloadable Java games. 6. This phone comes with self charging USB cable for Internet access using GPRS. 7. You can Record unlimited using Sound Recorder. 8. Hi, I own this phone for the past one and a half month. The phone is good for an average user. I experienced some problems. 1. It shows the 'Emergency Call' message when other phones (I tried Nokia)show 1 or 2 coverage bars. I dont know whats the problem, I think its signal capturing power is not so good. Anyone know how to correct it plz mail me. 2. Then whenever I use it as a mass storage device (60MB, and will automatically turned off) and when I reboot it after that most of the times I am unable to view the contact list, it comes to the first screen, whenever the view button is pressed. Then you should restore all settings. Luckily the contacts wont get deleted. Then I am getting 4days battery backup for say 20-30 mins of usage/day. (Not including MP3 hearing time). But if the vibrator is on I only get 2 days battery backup. The customer service is VERY BAD. I posted the above problems in the given form at wowlg.com and till now I dont get any reply...not even a confirmation mail. IS THER ANY SOFTWARE AVAILABLE TO CUSTOMIZE THE PHONE? Anybody want to increase the mp3 volume? do this.This works 100%.It increases till your headphone will damage.Its on you. How much volume to keep. 1. type *#3646633# Then one menu will come. 2. go to headset mode. 3. go to melody. 4. go to volume 5 5.increase it to 192(you can increase upto 255) 6.press back soft key 7.it will ask to update the parameters 8.press ok & exit 9.listen the songs.you will surely rock

got my g1800 mobile a weak back, it is really gud when compared with many other mobiles. Just saw some of the questions on the blog i think i can answer some,for file manager problem- update the flash file using com settings.... u can do it in ny lg authorised service center or by your self if u have the new flash file, phoenix driver and usb cable. if you feel that the volume of audio files is low than you can do this, try for sound forge software open the audio file.... increase the volume save it and then move to your g1800 usb drive. or if you have noticed that playing a mp3 file as a ring tone with ringtone volume 7 has a higher volume than playing with the audio player with max volume....so u can do this add the file to ringtone and then play from tone setup...this will sound high............... have fun with g1800 really a gr8 phone with hell a lot of memory................

hey vatsa u said the sound of the mp3 player can be increased. Once increased is it comparable to the sound of K700i or any other good MP3 player mobile phone. also if u connect a USB pen drive with songs to the cell can it play it directly from the pen drive with the pen drive connected to the cell without transferring the songs to the cell.

i bought the phone from Viet nam. phone is great. but even after properly resizing images using PC and copying them to the phone, i still cant choose custom wallpapers.do i have to create a new folder on the usb disk? also sound recorder records sound as wav/amr but there is no option to play it thru phone.i need to copy the wav file to PC and then listen to it.what are the folders u have on the phone ?? 1.There is a separate charger other than USB charger 2.Sound o/p of MP3 can be increased 3.File manager problem is resolved. 4.All these can be possible with a software upgrade.Pls visit nearest LG service centre 5.USB Data cable comes with the phone in India Over all a fantastic phone.

this is phone is JST OK...and the volume of the mp3 music is really low and bad and cn't really hear a song when in traffic. apart from the volume of the mp3 music is a preety decent phone ..might give 5 on 10...if the sound was gud thn would have given a 8 on 10....LG must really think abt this ..

hi is this phone having camera??? there is no IR port so is the Data cable available in the sales pack???? if data cable not available and it doesnot have a camera then even at Rs.7500 it is not the best buy. sony ericsson K508 is a better buy by paying a little extra.
