  • LYA-L29 is the model number for almost every dual-SIM version of the phone sold outside of Mainland China. It appears the Mate 20 Pro you bought was originally for the Hong Kong market, meaning warranty will likely only be limited to Hong Kong. You shouldn't have any issues updating over-the-air as the phone is factory unlocked (unlike many of those sold in the UK), and probably has stock ROM as the Hong Kong version does include Google Services (unlike those sold in Mainland China), so the seller wouldn't have any reason to flash a different ROM.

  • Need Help! Recently bought a Mate 20 Pro with model number LYA-L29. According to GSMArena and the Consumer Huawei UK website it is a global version that supports all UK networks (bands & frequencies) including mine (EE). Currently i'm using the phone with almost no issues. Rung Huawei Technical Support and I was told that the phone I have (with its serial number) is a "Hong Kong" model. Does anyone know if this is true or accurate? Will I still get updates as normal and as they come or available via OTA? Please help. Thanks.

  • Hello guys, I've been using my Mate 20 pro for a while now but just recently I noticed a greenish tint on both the edges of the phone, doesn't seem to be the gluegate issue as it's usually normal under backgrounds, the greenish tint is seen on brighter backgrounds, any help will be really appreciated.

  • Arguments for Mi 9T pro Mi 9T pro is cheaper than mate 20 pro. Mi 9T pro uses SD 855 which in my opinion is superior to Kirin 980 in mate 20 pro both in processing power and GPU Reasons for Mate 20 pro ( I personally use mate 20 pro, so these are practical experiences) 1. Face ID on mate 20 works flawless 2. Fast wired charging up to 40w it's extremely impressive 3.wireless charger, some people think they don't need this feature until you actually need it 4.   • But at 30X zoom it will be shaky even will little movement. So you really need a tripod to make the image sharp.

  • Dude ... Just point the camera towards the moon and zoom in 30x time (max zoom capacity) it will automatically detects that it's moon and and the AI will automatically adjusts the light to capture a good quality moon picture ( i have taken a lot) the moon mode will be displayed on the screen

  • Hi. I currently have the old flagship Samsung Galaxy S9+. From what i know the bigger the pixel size and the lower the aperture means a camera is better in low light and has a wider angle or field of view (FOV). If phone has EIS or OIS the video is smoother and more stable and somewhat also helps in low-light & dynamic range. Between the S9+ and the Mate 20 Pro which selfie and rear cameras is technically better in low light photos, a much wider angle, has better stabilisation, better audio recording (higher bitrate) and has better (i.e. less noise/artifacts) when zooming in subjects? Does this phone support 32-bit/384kHz audio and Dolby Atmos similar to a Galaxy S9+? Just asking. Many thanks.

  • Mate 20 Pro, handsdown. since it has way better display, 40 Watt supercharge, whereas P30 Pro has 22.5 watt, and the display is 1080p on P30 pro which looks washed out when you compare it to Mate 20 pro. Both phones have same chipset. my wife has P30 Pro and i was about to switch to P30 Pro also then i did a deeper analysis and Mate 20 pro is better in every aspect. who uses that 50X zoom to take photos anyway?? thats only edge P30 Pro has. and Mate 20 pro's price have been dropped. in my region you get a brand new at around 500 USD and almost as new used one in 400. Best value for money at the moment.

  • Horrible phone had both panels LG and boe both had screen burn and banding after less than a month everything else is perfect but the panel is sub standard after taking every measure to limit screen burn it fails badly especially noticeable under sunlight and also in the dark grayscale weirdly not bad but white and screen horrible what's the point in making a oled phone if white is worse colour considering most social media apps or Google use white and only options for that at mo is gray themes I'm settling for a mid range as just no point in oled in my opinion as uniformity is still an issue in this tech I'd rather a average chipset and a readable screen to overpowered with screen that lasts 10 mins so gonna see what experia 10 is like I know it's old chip and will be sluggish but at least the panel lottery of ips is unlikely to be burn in and rather dse which is still unexptable tbh but options are terrible with vodaphone

  • Hi!, I had the p30 (it was stolen) and now IK have the mate 20 pro and according to my view the main differences are: 1.- Obviously the size of the screen, when I had the P30 I didn,t like it because for gaming or videos it was small, but it depends on what you want. 2.-The main camera of the P30 takes better pictures than the mate 20pro, The p30 pictures were in a high quality I believe and the phone has an incredible zoom; the mate 20 pro pictures are very good too, but without the zoom obviously. 3.-In terms of behavior of the phone, both are absolutely fast and a high standard of work.   • i bought galaxy note 9, had it for a week, screen got scratched easily while i was looking after it all the time. then it started to rattle inside the phone which i returned. maybe i got bad model... i am using xperia z5 compact for almost 4 years, never had case or cover glass, had it in my pocket with keys and nothing happened to it, some small scratches but not deep. note 9 got a very deep scratch on monitor in an empty pocket. i dont know how but to me, thats really bad especially for the money, as i said maybe it was a bad model....

  • The P30 has a better camera becouse of the RYYB sensor. The battery life should be better on the Mate 20 pro. The Mate 20 pro also has wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, which the P30 doesn't. The Mate 20 pro screen has a higher resolution and the curved edges on the side. Overall, I would go with the Mate 20 Pro. The P30 pro is better than both of those, but it is more expensive.

Phone gets stuck on any given app, camera app takes longer to start and also when you switch cameras, there is almost a 20 seconds wait before you can take a photo. Also, apps remain open even when you close them. Thinking of switching over to some other brand.

  • Quite a good phone. I have it from march I think. But... Because always is a but.. Nice, powerful but not reliably. A month ago I lost my bluetooth connection with my car. I have to stop and solve it. A week ago when I was calling nobody hear me. When I was called they hear me for 10-15 seconds. I write about this glitches to our romanian care center and tell them when they can call me. The response was that I can not disclose anything was in the message and if I want I can call them back on a phone number where probably I have to dial some number for english, dial some number if I have some problems and so on till I will put to hear some music which probably I dislike and spend some minutes from my life because of their faults. I will call them now and timing how quick they are. They were quite quikq, 4 minutes. But probably that nice person could not resolve both problems. So bad customer care at least here in Romania.

  • I won this phone while I was still using my P30 Pro -- it's is truly a big upgrade. The processor is a lot faster, the style feels a lot better to hold in the hand (i have smaller hands), the screen is more sensitive and i haven't had a screen guard on it, but I haven't had any scratches or breaks on it and it's been 2 months since I got it. It comes with a silicon case in box which is really slim and fits great. Camera is awesome too. Only down fall is the fingerprint scanner sucks in bright light/sun. Face recognition works about 75% of the time. Despite this, I highly recommend this phone.

  • I had Mate 20 Pro from 1'st November. Just switched to S10+ Mate 20 Pro over S10+ - way better ultrafast charging - camera nightmode - way way better . Although , when I installed google camera on S10+ the night photos are great. And no need to stay 5 sec not moving my hand - way way better ergonomics - the buttons are EXACTLY where they should be. With S10+ they are exactly THE OPPOSITE location :(( - IR Blaster - extremely usefulll - way better network signal, better wi fi, better download speed. Everything about conectivity is fast - Born fast Stay fast. All my Samsungs S2,4,7,8 and Note 1,2,3,4 were lagging after 4-5 months of usage . Mate 20 pro = exactly like new out of the box . I am , indeed, a heavy heavy user, but, I don't care. If Huawei can do it , Samsung should do it. I hope they soled it with S10 - better zoom camera - way more sharper camera - natural colors in pictures - it is a matter of taste. I prefer the vivid mode on S10. But some people prefer more realistic photos - NO Bixby button - really is so anoying unsusefull button - better handling for less wider than S10+ . it is a significally difference S10+ over Mate 20 Pro - better display. Not way better, but visibile on 4k video youtube side by side - way way way better stereo speakers - both volume and quality - way way beter video camera - both selfie and rear camera - gourgeous steady video mode - - ONEUI way way way way better than EMUI - there are too many things that Samsung is so so intuitive and knows what I want that Huawei is the oposite. For example autobrightness in samsung i can turn off, not with Huawei. Also in camera mode in video mode I can switch between angle zoom the way I want. in Mate20 Pro is laggy and only in order. - I can make video with wide camera mode. In Mate20 Pro the widecamera video is like the regular video in Samsung. Doesn't let me film wider angle image. And is very frustrating to have a ultrawide lens and doesn't let me use it on video - I can make a PANORAMA IN ULTRAWIDE MODE - to get EVERYTHING into the picture. At Huawei when I turn to panorama mode it switches automatically to regular angle camera :((( - the PANORAMA soft on S10 is way way way better than Huawei's one BOTH on dinamic range between different lighting conditions of such a large photo, and CORRECTING your hand shaking !!!! - ALL CAMERAS ARE THE SAME - great. mate 20 pro has different colours, dinamic range soft for zoom one, ultrawide one and the regular one. The regular one is great, gteat, the zoom one is just great, the ultrawide one is so and so - way better dinamic range on s10 over the Mate 20 Pro - wider 123 degree on ultrawide angle lens on s10 over just 107 degree on mate 20 pro. It is more usefull wider as I want to get more and more into the picture - better display in direct sunlight - way better pictures in daylight - better colours, better dinamic range - although the zoom camera is better on mate 20 pro, i found much more usefull the 2x zoom than the 3x of huawei's . I found myself many times too zoom in from 3x in mate 20 pro to 2x. somehow samsung knew how far I really need to zoom in - SHOT SUGGESTION MODE - is so so so addictive. ALL your photos are now GREAT . It is so usefull. one has to use it to see how great it is - EDGE - I 100% hate hate the edge display, but S10 edge is smaller than the Mate20 pro and more maneouvrable. Samsung has experience with edge panels... S7 edge was worst - hole in display is more modern than Notch. Though Vivo selfie cam that pops up from the phone is the best way to do it - dark mode - is so so Dope - AUTOROTATE display is so much more responive on S10. At Mate20 pro is so so slow to respond you wonder if it shall rotate ... - heart rate sensor - is is there if some use it

Bought it day before yesterday and sold it yesterday. Its Amoled screen is not as vibrant as Samsung. Gestures navigation is annoying as hell. You cannot get rid of Swiftkey, i must say Camera and battery had been superb but everything else was not as fluid as Samsung. And with One Ui Samsung flagships have leveled their game up. Back to my Note and never been happier.

  • Regarding these, even though the phone is coming with a free gel case, but I will never use it at all because it will affect the heat loss of the phone when you're using it or charging it. And if the phone already has a screen protector on the screen out of the box, it's okay. So there is no way to break the port by just using a headphone with USB C jack in a normal way. 3.5mm jack is not a problem with this beautiful smartphone. Stop the issue with 3.5mm jack. In addition there is a USB C to 3.5mm adaptor included in the package just in case you don't want to let go of your ancient headphone with 3.5mm jack.

  • Best Phone Ever: Switching from my very old phone. Not very old just got it 6 years prior from now. This phone is awesome. Powerful than Samsung Galaxy S9+ and closer to Samsung Galaxy S10+ and Apple iPhone XS Max. Nice gradient back. The Twilight finish is awesome too!!! Cameras??? One of the best but selfie camera needs some work and EMUI 9 is great but needed to be more polished and should be made more user-friendly. Need some bug fixes in the software, mainly in the camera(fix the HDR). Otherwise, as the title says, "Best Phone Ever". Period.

  • Coming upto a change in contract and phone at the end of April. Currently have a Samsung Galaxy S8+, but looking to come away from Samsung but stay with Android. Huawei has been recommended to me and as I love photography and not always have my pro kit around when the perfect photo presents itself.   • Unlocked oem option in developer settings does not mean anything. You still need to have code to unlock bootloader !!!

  • Actually in latest .183 updates, they brought back the 'OEM unlock' in developer settings. But do i need the feels to root? I dont know for what purpose lol as all apps & games works flawlessly. Back in the days, I'm using Xperia Neo, Arc, Z1, Z5.....on that every device i root & unlock bootloader just to make it stabilized & optimized the device to the maximum potential possible (custom kernels, roms, themes)...but now? All jobs can be done flawlessly. And i believe it goes the same to every flagship device now...we've come to the part that performance are overkill for todays apps & games.   • Battery life is user dependent. Display brightness is the number one battery drain. Background apps and SOT are also inclined to severely reduce time between charging intervals. The Exynos variant of the S8 prioritized single core processing which increased charging intervals and lead to overheating as well. The Snapdragon variant was a bit slower for processing but is much better balanced for power consumption. I had an S8+ with the Snapdragon Chip and I don't recall ever charging the device more than once a day. YMMV

  • Dont justify battery endurance from the lab tests. In real life, its way different & left Note 9 4000mah far ahead. Ask anyone who owns both device. Most of reviewer that handle various of device, awarded Mate 20 pro as best battery on flagship device (mkbhd, techchap, matthew moniz). As for example, S8 manage to get 84h battery endurance here, but in real life? Please....it cant even last a day.

Wireless headphones/buds will never deliver audio on par with a wired connection. Your assumption that wired devices will be phased out is just that, an assumption, I disagree. Battery Endurance was tested here on GSM and the Note 9 came out on top by considerable margin, you can review the comparison here. To my original point I feel the Note 9, all things considered is a better device at a lower price, others will disagree.

  • This statement is not totally true. I have both phones and m using it at the same time. 1) Mate 20 pro has the better chipset, I can't begin to count how many times my note 9 hang on me. The Mate 20 pro didn't no matter what I throw at it. 2) The Note 9 indeed has the better screen because it uses a better oled panel for its phones. 3) The headphone jack will be phased out sooner or later at the rate the world is going wireless, deal with it. 4) Note 9 Definitely has the better speaker setup, the Mate 20 pro choice to place the speaker behind the USB C port is questionable. 5) Battery life? The Note 9 doesn't even come close. I definitely have to charge it at the end of the day, the Mate can last me more then 1 and half days

  • It' will always be slower 1-2 secounds. physical buttons are instant. I have cerebral palsy so probably the best test subject for fumbling around, but it works very well. It's an advantage that you see the spot if you move the phone when hibernated in the dark. It's fast but it won't ever be as fast as a hardware button.

  • Basically on 1st batch of the phone they replace it on the spot if got gluegate issue. Considering maybe the phone out of stock, or maybe they are rules on how many days u used, they replace only the screen. But fear not, they are precautions on the replacement, using a special room & equipment to keep the waterproof intact. Check out this video - Eitherway, at least they do it for free & glad that the gluegate issue solve using warranty. But yeah, it must frustrating for the time spend on the service center, considering u pay a high price for it.

  • This is why they show sub scores, and looking only at the main score is pointless. Mostly I feel the talk time has too high value. S8 web browsing 10:05 hrs Mate 20 pro web browsing 13:57hrs So for surfing the mate 20 pro has about 40% better battery performance, and keep in mind the S8 is also older, and having aged for may about 1.5 years matters to the battery.

  • I didnt aware of any connection using wifi or bluetooth, maybe they should improve on that. But by using sim data connection, no problems on battery life.

  • I had that phone and it is not as good as it is believed. I had many problem with netowork connection (even with wifi and bluetooth!) and that costed me a lot of duration. I was glad if my mate 20 pro lasted one day. this battery may "be so good", if are not using any wireless connection. Before I turned to huawei I was using S7 and I had never had a problems like those and my battery lasted at least a day and a half (two days while S7 was new). I switched back to S7 and it still works better.

  • Yep even Forbes stated that the Mate 20 Pro has the best battery life right now. GSMArena have to relook their battery endurance test as it does not represent real life usage. Every single YouTube battery Test has the Mate 20 Pro winning by a large margin. :)

  • Those battery life endurance not reliable in real life. For example: Mate 20 Pro - 85h Galaxy S8 - 84h But in real world usage scenario, S8 cant even live a day while Mate 20 easily got 2-3 days battery life. Believe me, i experience it, its a beast. Even Note 9 got higher rating, and still, Mate 20 pro better in real life. All professional reviewers on youtube/website admits that Mate 20 pro are the best battery life for a flagship phone.

  • I have recently moved oved to Honor from my iPhone 6 and I'm totally blown away by every aspect of thier devices. They put Apple so deeply in the shade, Apple would start to get hypothermia. I love the build quality and thier awesome colour ranges how they change colour depending on which angle you look at the device.

  • I completely understand that the phone is working just fine for you, in my case, i try to take nice pictures with the phone to begin this new year and the camera led is just useless, i couldn't take a single picture to save and upload to my social's, even a Samsung J7 took pictures way better than mine, Huawei Mate 20 Pro was not what i was expecting, what a waste of money for night shots, now, when it comes to performance it works just fine, battery life is about 6 Hour of extreme usage, "didn't test it under the water" to avoid unexpected results, overall i could say that its an amazing phone but the camera is not one of the strength.

Comes with better LCD than Iphone XR, great camera, big battery as well, headphone jack, flat screen, but loose the OLED screen goodies, wireless charging & lower IP rating. That if u care about it so much.

  • If you live in the US then obviously the iPhone is better, but in other parts of the world were this device is cheaper and has better features than the iPhone, like the battery life, charging time, fingerprint sensor, ultrawide camera and the included 40W fast charger in the box rather than spending $70 on a 31W Apple charger sounds better to me. The Galaxy Note 9 is the best Galaxy btw, not the S9+.

  • Just bought my Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Overall I like the look and design and happy with the battery. I am a business user however utterly disappointed with Contacts App. I record notes on my contacts which can be lengthy. I just discovered the Notes field in Contacts App has a limit of only 150 words. Totally disappointed. Previously I have been using Xperia Z5 with no issues. For God sake we are in 21st Century such limits and restrictions are non productive. My opinion this phone is definitely not for a busy professional. If anyone be kind to suggest any Contacts App that has no data inclusion limit to its Notes field, it would be greatly appeciated.

  • What the f**k you write there??? Notch, today, is on all the phones, curves too, but triple camera no. You don't know very much about phone quality, right ?

  • The camera is so embarassing. It's so overly post-processed that it removes all details from the photo. Compared to a 3, almost 4 years old phone, the HTC One M9, it just has nothing to offer. I did an in-depth side-by-side comparison of both, in multiple scenes and light conditions. I didn't have time to try it at night, but only in a dimly lit room. All photos were taken in full auto, macro and manual modes. And the AI is extremelly slow, especially the "Super Macro" mode, which can't even go that close to objects anyway. (And barely functions anyway. It phases in and out of that mode when you are close to something.) I suppose it's better at nighttime, but what 2018 flagship phone isn't? Like, it's still compared to 2015 flagship. For 2018 standards this is really bad. The idea was there, the implementation wasn't. And this is only my opinion.

  • pros: phone performance is good for daily use. battery is quite satisfactory. I play pokemon go, so I can tell gps is really accurate unlike my old phone. my last phone was xiaomi mi5, transition between interface didnt effect me much. I guess I'm used to any android interface after 5 years on the platform. camera colors does not fit my taste but editing colors is easy so if i need to share them i can fix it to my taste easily. the sharpness and details are awesome. I wouldnt enjoy/suggest listening music from phone speakers. as an old htc user, there aren't much phones on the market to satisfy me in that department. (htc front facing stereo speakers were awesome) 3d scanning my figures and toys is fun, it shocks your friends but detail level makes sure that you wont use it for any professional purpose. having latest android pie is good but a lot of software on play store doesnt support it. I have one specific software that effectc my daily life. ( a local traffic situation app by municipality doesnt work on android 9) I managed to destroy my bluetooth headphone and started to use my old cabled one with converter. The converter cable looks fragile, I wish it was a braided one for a premium phone. It will take some time for me to adjust to gestures. but it is a nice option. cons: there are a few bugs here and there in ui especially with notch apperaing or dissappearing. native twin apps/dual apps supports is limited with some messaging and social media apps.

  • This is by far the best phone I have ever had. The pictures I take I can use for advertising I don't need a DSLR camera. This phone is super fast and the battery is amazing. This phone is perfect for work and great for multitasking. Ever since I ditched my Samsung and changed over to Huawei I have never had a complaint.

I went to Huawei service center and ask them to check for me if I can one to one exchange because my mate 20 pro is LG screen. The Galaxy Note 4 up until the Note 4 would always bring a slightly more powerful SoC vs the Galaxy S of that same year e.g. the S5 brought the Snapdragon801 while the Note 4 came with 805 that had a far more powerful GPU. The Mate 20 Pro pretty much owns the S9+, Note 9, iPhone X S Max, OnePlus 6T and Google Pixel 3 XL in most areas. :) I see we already have haters hanging around here, must be some Note9 and S9+ users.

Note9 doesn't fit my hands due to its cornered design. Both of them are great phones. As I was using them both, they don't feel any different at all aside from size and the curved screen(though aesthetically beautiful, is annoying). I say keep your money dude and wait for 2019 devices. Your Mate 10 Pro will serve you just as good as the Mate 20 Pro can. There's nothing to waste your money about:)

It's cheaper than the pro but you get a better battery, MUCH better camera than the 20, Headphone Jack, better stereo speakers than the other variants, and the cooling ventilation so it prevents from overheating. Otherwise, the Pro definitely warrants paying the extra money vs the regular 20 due to the AMOLED display, better camera, and EXTREME fast charging along with fast wireless charging.

  • Signal strength plays a big role on how much energy gets consumed. Wifi and the GSM antenna consume differently. So if you have wifi and/or cellular antenna turned on you can easily lose this amount every night. Other people will give different rates because of different signal strengths and settings. Some phones, like iPhone, when it sleeps, it shuts off the Wifi and reverts to your cellular antenna. If you have a limited data, this could lead to data usage you weren't expecting. They do this to save battery charge. I believe you can shut off both antennas and your actual phone call and sms services are still connected. So there are many factors involved.

  • Had the phone for a week. My experiences: - Performance is amazing. - Automatic scene detection in Camera is very confused sometimes, but overall the photos are great. I'm sure they can make this more reliable through a software update. - I love the IR blaster on the thing. - Face recognition and fingerprint scanner are working great. - The battery life is so good that the fast-charging isn't even a feature on the phone. - Most importantly though, my phone is suffering from the LG-supplied display issue. In low brightness, the phone is showing green light at the edges of the display, especially on the right side in combination with a grey colored image. On amazon.de the phone has a rating of 3/5 (45 reviewers). 99% of people who gave a low rating are complaining about the screen issue. Verdict: AVOID THIS PHONE LIKE THE PLAGUE FOR AT LEAST ANOTHER MONTH.

  • No not really my battery drains so quick on browsing using wifi and 25% screen brightness and nothing else opened. I expect an update for battery drain from huawei or think to turn it back to supplier. I expected a better battery life for 4200mah and a kirin 980 cpu and i am getting a 70 hrs on battery life optimizing with this low to medium load even when the screen is off its draining and its not really 70 hrs. Overall the phone is the best yet on market.

  • I have been a devoted Sony user for decades. Then the time came for a new phone (my previous Xperia Z5 Ultra had served me well over 3 years). I checked out the latest Sony phones and realized I no longer like the design, and specs for the latest sony xperias are really, shall we say, modest for what's out there right now. So, weighing all pros and cons I opted for the Mate 20 pro pre-order. I've had it for 2 weeks now. I must honestly say it is the best handset I have owned in my 25 cellphone user years. Works impeccably, incredibly fast, the screen, which is not 4K beats the Xperia Z5 premium, which was 4K. Pics are superb for a cellphone, sound is awesome. The wireless charger that came with the pre-order is great, and it looks really great too. The only downside so far - fingerprint reader becomes way less accurate and responsive once you place the screen protector on the screen, so I had to remove it. Two thumbs up, honestly.

  • Reason to get rid of this phone: 1. Supporting the NM card, then ditch the Micro SD card. Sorry, my previous device using Micro SD. I won't buy this proprietary NM format just for Mate 20 Pro, even old Huawei smartphone also supporting Micro SD. Stupid move. I know many will come and say the storage is pretty big, you can use cloud service, you can also use OTG. Yes, but non of these option beat Micro SD. 2. Using proprietary fast charging standard. This is not an issue if previously already invested for Huawei own fast charging, but it doesn't support the more supported Qualcomm QC. Yes, it does support USB-PD, but I tested with a USB-PD adapter, it doesn't work well, keep disconnected. 3. No headphone jack. Yes, trend follower will say wireless is far better. But I'm not, definitely the old 3.5mm jack is the best and no need worry about headphone battery that need to recharge. Convenient eh? Why need extra step to charge your wireless earphone? It's wireless reverse charging sharing also is non-sense. It's main selling point would only be it's camera, then maybe slightly cheaper price than Samsung's flagship. If for me to choose, I definitely choose Samsung Galaxy Note 9 over this, and actually Samsung Galaxy Note 9 128GB is far cheaper than the Mate 20 Pro in my region. Definitely not everything is cool when some brand do a big change. I blame Apple for ditching the 3.5mm jack on their iPhone, this is the most stupid idea ever had.   • This phone excites me so much. Few years ago Huawei collaborated with Leica to bring us dual camera on phone and it worked but could not be the first. They collaborated again and again untill they have achieved the best as at now. P20 pro's camera was the best ever in many angels or areas. Best at night and best in zooming clearity hands down. It also hard the best video 1080p stability with the AI I hope they improve this to the 4k videos to be as stable with their AI like the 1080p one.

  • I had the same issue that for a 4200mhA battery it was less than impressive checking the battery software was not draining much at all compared to the hardware but after going through the options menu i noticed it had enabled "always on data" this means that Wifi if on and LTE data is always on and never sleeps and this was what was draining the battery. Doubled the battery life by turning it off.

  • What you need 4k for? Do you have a 4k TV? DO YOU EVEN WATCH 4K? Lets not talk bad about huawei unless you actually own one. Huawei is superior to samsung and apple. More features, no lag, handles all games no problems. People are judging by looking at a list of features, buy one and use one then talk.

  • Hi all, I'm from Malaysia. I brought this phone since 1st day it launch in Malaysia on my birthday 27th Oct. I'm very impressed with this phone, this phone is a beast and is one of the best phone out there. I'm very lucky that I have this phone with twilight colors and with no issue on the phone. I've no regret buying this phone, the only problem with this phone is I need to find a good tempered glass on it lol. For me, I prefer Huawei Kirin chipset over Snapdragon chipset. Kirin chipset is like apple chipset, they have their own chipset on their own phone. But apple iOS is not as flexible as Android phones and for Snapdragon, it share with alot of phone company like Xiaomi, Samsung, Google pixel, OnePlus and etc. If I buy a phone with Snapdragon chipset, I'll pick the cheapest one out of them like pocophone f1 or OnePlus. Because the chipset is the same, not much different and the only different is the ram or the capacity of storage. I've friends almost faint because of the pocophone f1, they're using samsung S9+ and when they play heavy games like PUPG. Some friend with pocophone f1 is way more better than the Samsung S9+ because pocophone have a cooling system on it while Samsung S9+ have none. When play games for long time, S9+ will get lagging when it get hot and the battery will drain faster than pocophone f1. I've a friend even change his phone from S9+ to a pocophone f1, lol. I know alot ppl prefer Snapdragon chipset over others chipset because it is one of the best chipset out there but too bad they share with alot of company. There's no way I'll get a expensive phone with Snapdragon on it because there will have a company like OnePlus or Pocophone come out a flagship killer with very cheap price. For me, Mate 20 Pro is really a very very good phone. Flagship quality and I've tried on heavy games, phone will get warm after play for a long period of time. Even without gaming cooling system, the phone remain warm and not hot at all. Maybe is because the 7nm chipset, also the camera is superb. I'm not against the Snapdragon chipset, I just wanna share my sincere opinion on this phone. Peace Out!!

  • It is not about like or hate. It is what is better. Rn iPhone and Mate Pro are the best phones. Samsung is using bezels and relatively small battery so is left behind. On the other hand Huawei has the best camera + battery IPhone is the fastest (a12!) And only reliable passive unlock.

  • So many haters spreading fake opinions about this great device. If you don't like Huawei then go and buy whatever you think will fulfill your demand. There's no need of spreading hate, if you like Samsung go get one if you like an iPhone go get one, simple like that.

  • Kirin980 is newer compared to SD845. Kirin980 should be against SD855.

That means it will work, but not as well as a phone designed for the United States marketplace. As a result, you will get compromised performance and less than optimal speeds for any app that depends on the internet - which are most. For making voice calls, however, it should be fine.

  • Yes, I have and returned mine to Carphonewarehouse for a full refund, it was the second one that morning (Saturday 3 Nov). On the whole it is a very good phone but battery life was weird as by the end of the day, I was left with around 40% and I am by no means a heavy user, average user at best. If I do get one again, extremely unlikely as I still think the UI is toilet, I certainly will not be reverse charging anyone's phone.
