Its been a long time since using Huawei brand ,yet fond of going ahead with it.P10PLUS doesn't let me move ahead ,always holds me at the cost of other mobile's. I would recommend it to people if they want some medium spec budget mobile. Camera quality is fine under sunlight and was better even under until there was an update before the interface was changed to the latest. Screen brightness is essential and clear view of display is what lacks in mobiles under the sunlight, that needs to be seen. IN GENERAL ON HUAWEI Since its a brand from china even if manufactured from Canada ,few apps are in Chinese which is bad ,and we are unable to select our own location in Huawei account ,only shows china region locations , that's one take away. They need to consider other national users as well and have contents accordingly ! But yeah can't wait for the update that's releasing for P10plus in august ! Thank you and take care .

My 2 years old P10 Plus is still running the same as I bought it. Update your phone to the latest software and patches, fill your storage up to 3/4 only don't and run periodic maintenance to remove temp files and broken links and registries. You will see it runs smoothly. I can assure you because I believe in the saying that, driving is not only the ability to run a car, you also need to understand how each parts works complementary to the others and the entire system.

My experience with Android PIE First of all please: 1. Do not update to Android Pie, unless you want half of your battery life 2. DO NOT rollback to android Oreo using Hisuite after you upgraded to pie, because all of android pie bugs are still present & phone performs much worse than with pie or previous oreo patches. Problems I encountered with Android Pie: 1. Fast battery drain in standby ~ 5% per hour. First 5-10% of battery after full charge drop within 20-30 minutes of standby 2. Huawei locked out user from accesing thermal info on this device 3. Random freeze or lock that dissappears after locking & unlocking the device 4. GPU Score in GeekBench4 DROP from ~ 9000 points to ~ 6000 pts; however gaming performance increse due to the fact that games recognize a weaker gpu and autoselect graphic details lower on pie 5. Gpu Score in Antutu is ~ 30000 pts (lower than Orea) in normal mode & ~ 60000 pts in Gpu Turbo mode 6.Network signal is weaker, latency increased & down/upload speed decreased according to Speedtest.net App 7. Some of my apps & games refuse to run on Android Pie even if i delete & reinstall them Do you know that if can upgrade again to android Pie After rollback using Hisuite from Android 9 To Oreo? I know i said Pie was running poorly on my device, but rollback firmware VKY-L29 8.0.0.386(C432) is running much worse with a lot more bugs, freezes than pie or same software version before upgrading to Pie.

Hi! I have had my Huawei P10 plus for 2 years without any serious problem. But now I wanted to install the new update but it didn't work! It says that there is a device boot problem and it doesn't work to download the old Version and recovery! honor 8x advantages: bigger 6.5 inch screen, but you need to understand that this this is a cheap mid ranger, it's using the old micro usb instead of USB C, the screen resolution is not as high as p10 plus. I would go for the p10 plus if you don't mind the 5.5 inch screen and the big bezels. Main reason for this is because it's a flagship, even if it's almost 2 years old. Better perfomance, probably better cameras etc..

Hi. For the people that own this device, i don't remember if this is supposed to happen but everytime you boot or reboot, does your battery app settings startup turn on to automatic management all the apps? Mine doesn't save my settings after (but not the other settings inside the apps, this stays saved). Is there a way to resolve this problem? I think i need to do hard reset to fix if nothing comes up to fix this.

Hi! Please respond. How is you battery life? I mean how much screen on time hours when set 30, 50 and 100%? I get 5h for 30%, 3,5h for 50% and 2-2,5 h when max brightness. I am worried that my phone is somehow defective. Cause I get poor battery and lots of performance drop.

heats up like crazy.... I don't know if that's supposed to be normal for phones these days or what. but it heats up after a couple hours of use. I'm a bit concerned what the overheating is doing to the hardware, but at least it'll be nice to use in winter months when it's -15C degrees. other than that, it's great. at least so far. it's only been a few weeks.

Hello! I just bought my second p10 plus, after i RMA the first one. Both phones are getting hot (~60-65 C CPU temp in 5 min of doing something) really quick, and battery life is poor ~ 3-4 SOT with auto birghtness. Also gaming performance isn't good, a lot of fps drop and low fps in games like riptide gp renegade, lara croft go, asphalt 8 & xtreme. I even got fps drop in 2D games. Both phones have UFS 2.1 & DDR4 memory if matters. Are the some almost or all p10 plus or i just have bad luck? Thanks in advance.

For that kind of usage you will be satisfied with any of these two. The p10 plus is more powerful than the nokia that's for sure, also it has a better camera. The advantages of the nokia are the bigger screen and a slightly bigger battery but it's meaningless just 50mah. Now i can't speak about the battery life of the nokia but i own a p10 plus and i can say that the battery life is not that good, the phone gets hot quickly, especially on 4G outdoors when it's sunny and it consumes battery rather quickly. Maybe it's just my device but that's my experience.

Great phone. Battery could last for longer but thats because EMUI and Kirin 960. Bluetooth transmitter could have more power too. It'll work when you have paired only one device to it but when you have for example a smartwatch and headphones connected to it problems start occuring. I have Garmin Fenix 5X and Jaybird X3 when running and music start's to break if turning my head or move Garmin too close to headphones.

I think p10 plus is better because it's newer, has a better resolution and the camera is a bit better. Mate 9 has a bigger screen and a bigger battery but it's up to you what you like more.

If i were you i wouldn't do it because it's not a much of an upgrade, the p10 plus is not much better than the s7 edge in performance and camera, also the s7 edge has ip68 rating and a better amoled screen. I suggest you go for the mate 10, mate 10 pro or the p20 or p20 pro.

Salam n peace to all. I got G5 about a year now...just amazing phone after v10. But now 4gb ram is less for my usage. I've tried all Huawei P10plus and 5T.. I think only HUAWEI gives all full specs, with SD CARD, INFRARED now adays. If anyone who can tell me which phone with 6GB RAM / 128GB ROM, beats or at-least comes up to level with LG phone cameras? p10 plus have more RAM, p20 have newer camera generation lenses, depends on what you need the most outta your device. I would go for p10 plus (owned it for 5 months) right now because its cheaper, more RAM, no notch (yes you can hide the notch I know), same amount of ROM, battery is almost the same, so P10 Plus would be a reasonable choice. Only if you want to spend more money then I would advice Mate 10 Pro (my daily driver right now).

I got p10, and now want to buy p10 plus, p10 sound is too low otherwise a very good performer and that's why buying p10 plus and I was happy that it got stereo speaker and in some reviews they compare it with htc u11... hey bro i am from Bulgaria and i got Huawei P10 standart edition DUal sim and i got updated it to Android OREO is absolutely the same like the Nouggat the differences are only with the Most left Screen slider is Google window with notes news and the daily weather status to ur city and the Settings menu is Changed but notting special both operation systems Android 7 and 8 works QUite equival and the newer version doesnt consume more ram memory :)

Do not update to emui 8!!! Last straw with this company. Camera looks like it has a live virus, focus issues, phone brightness is abysmal. Even worse fingerprint scanner lag and phone is stuttering and jumping like crazy. Feels like and old phone and now stuck with SwiftKey as a result of an ineffective hard reset. Used the funkyhuawei site to get the Oreo update and the phone is even better than before. Battery life has been increased but not by a large amount. If you drop screen resolution you definitely get more life. I've been running Oreo for two days now and compared to the previous build, I'm getting an extra 10% battery increase. Still testing but will leave another comment later.

That's impossible unless you have a completely defective unit. I get 2% battery drain overnight with WiFi on. If WiFi is off, it's a 1% drain. I get through an entire day with ease, at least 60% left by 6pm after being off charge from 7am. Then I basically have to fight the phone to drain the battery to critical and that happens about 11pm with music, heavy gaming and alot of web browsing. Please check your phone to see the multitude of apps you have running in the background draining your battery. This is a great phone and the battery life is amazing.

Standby drain on p10 and p10 plus is absolutely terrible. P10 loses 50% battery over 1.5 days with no use, p10 plus is marginally better but still loses 40% battery over 1.5 days with no use. Have no idea what these phones are doing in the background to drain the battery so fast. One app draining battery on the p10 is trip advisor (not draining battery on p10 plus though), an app that I have never opened on either device. Both devices are brand new by the way. I have a Sony xa1 on test also which has only lost 30% over 3.5 days with no use. Huawei make some very good phones which unfortunately have some pretty annoying flaws, just a question of whether you can live with the flaws in your own personal situation. One example is that you can't paste a number into the dialer without first entering a digit, which you then have to go back and delete after pasting. This has been present since at least p8 but still not fixed with p10 or p10 plus. P10 plus is almost a great phone if it weren't for the standby drain issue, not sure it's worth the £450 that's being asked for it in the UK right now. Maybe if it drops to around £300 it'd be a great buy.

But if you are not using the phone at all I mean in standby and that power drops has been noticed, it means you have a defective unit.

I have this phone for a month now, and it's awesome. Very fast, no lag at all, the fingerprint scanner is also very very fast and reliable. Battery life is also very good, it lasts a whole day. Camera is also stunning, both the front and the back. That's the pros. About the cons, sometimes it heats up for no big reason, im not doing anything too intensive, im just scrolling through instagram or watching youtube videos and it heats up. Anyone else has this heating issues?

I am curious. The p10 plus has a powersaving utility whereby you can lower the display resolution. Would the lowering of the display to HD affect benchmark results? Or am I misunderstanding what the function does? The mate 9 has the same guts but has more power because of its single HD display, thus less effort for the cpu. Am I wrong?

Only because I used firmware finder for Huawei I was able to update to B162. A joke ladies and gentlemen! Cheaper Huawei models had updates so why not P10 Plus? I've been using this phone since July 2017 and everything is well, great camera very fast no lag at all and still have 70 GB free of my internal storage. One more thing, I am controlling all my remote controlled appliances from my phone and even to all counterfeit or imitated products with remote control, you can make P10 plus learn all of those remote controls so you can operate them very easily. This phone is very practical and usable.

Im using this phone about 4months ago.. overall performance is good, camera superb..the only things that i feel upset with p10 plus is the speaker volume. For those who like to listening music, p10plus is not recommended. Lately, this phone performance become sluggish..and if u access the safe file, it takes a minute to add file..vivo v3 is even faster.

This phone lacks in several areas. I have literally only ever had 2 smartphones prior to this, and both were wonderful and offered unique options, like vibration-touch typing, or phone-specific pre-loaded apps. This phone doesn't offer that. Notifications don't work properly, and for some settings changes, I need to shut down the phone or reboot it for these to take effect. However, some of my settings are lost when I restart the phone, and it's never the same ones. I consider this phone 6 months of annoyance at this point. I recommend not getting it if you like customization, as it doesn't have things like data tracking for your specific calendar date (only starts on the first of the month), nor lock-screen changes. It's great if you're not expecting much, but my old HTC and SONY phones, even being 2-6 years older, offered more than this phone does. They both ran smoother, and never caused as many problems as this phone has (for example, my email notification doesn't go off, then I find an email a week later from a friend asking why I'm ignoring them). You know what, don't get this phone. It's not worth your investment.

I was an owner of Oneplus One until several days ago. Was really happy with it for 3 years, was still working very good (except for its battery life). I bought the Huawei P10 plus from a store, it was a really good phone, but the one-button-home-and-back function really annoyed me and i didn't want to use the onscreen navigation buttons because it occupied 10-15% of the screen. Plus the writing was lagging (not a lot, but because i was used to really fast typing from Oneplus One, it was noticeable). So i took it back and bought Oneplus 5t 128gb online. This phone is great (ok, i am little biased because i already had a Oneplus).The speed of everything (typing, changing apps, browsing) is unbeatable. The bigger screen is what you need to use onscreen navigation buttons and scrolling apps like FB and Instagram. The nice functions of Oneplus are there (double tap to wake screen, double tap to change to previous app, customizable colors for notifications etc) and you can have finger unlock and face unlock active at the same time. Is not a great looking phone like Huawei P10 plus, but it is light and slim and with the official sandstone case, it looks very nice. The camera is not great (a lot better than Oneplus one, but a lot worse than Huawei's Leica). Battery life is great and lasts easily for more than a day, but at 3.300 it will deteriorate in 2-3 years and it will need charging at around 22:00-2300, like my old Oneplus One. Overall, a great buy, i can recommend to anyone who needs a phone more for browsing, playing games, whatsapp etc and takes 1-2 photos per day and 1 video per 3 days. If you need a phone with great camera for professional work or for Instagram etc, this phone is not for you.

I bought Huawei P10 plus in August 2017. After using it for more than 5 months, I give it 5 stars out of ten. In short it is a combination of a poor software skin, low volume speakers, substandard earphones, cluttered settings menu with very little personalization, very bad calling app, almost unusable gallery app and an outdated Android version. Only good things are the camera and the fingerprint sensor. It's definitely an overpriced phone. Furthermore, it became a bit sluggish recently.

Seems you might have gotten a bad unit. I've been using this phone for 6 months and it has never slowed down, it might have lagged a little but nothing serious..... i mean what phone doesn't lag at all? Besides, i hardly ever restart or turn it off so of course it's expected to lag a little. This phone is awesome. Don't get discouraged by bad reviews.... this is a strong and reliable phone.

Quite disappointed with this phone. Hyped up to be super fast and future proof, but found it to be quite laggy at times - and I didn't have hundreds of apps installed. Disabled or uninstalled most of the crap that I didn't need, but it still let me down. Not sure the price of £449.99 - £499.99 is justifyable. Annoying too that there's a screen protector on the phone because it doesn't have the same type of glass that other smartphones have to prevent scratches/fingerprints etc. Great amounts of RAM (6GB) and storage (128GB) but it just didn't float my boat.

Well let me put it to you this way. I have this phone about 2 weeks now, i jumped from mate 9 to p10 plus. My Mate9 was freezing sometimes after turning bluetooth, dont know the reason why. P10 Plus have a bit better camera than Mate9. Speed, well, Plus is a bit faster but if you are an average use { Instagram, FB, Messenger, Viber, Whatsapp} you wont notice that. Battery is way better at Plus, even Mate9 have bigger battery capacity. For me it can last day and a half in a heavy use. If you dont care for price, then buy yourself Plus :)

Forgot the main thing: if you are a music lover, the HTC U11 beats the P10 Plus. There are numerous options for good sound- the included headphones with the sonar tuning are surprisingly good. Next, bluetooth headphones with AptX is another option. The final option is to use a 3.5mm headphone with the adapter, which is not just any adapter- it contains outboard 24-bit digital to analog converters and a headphone amp. The sound is SUPERB.

No doubt a superb phone and camera, but ended up with the U11 because of the water-resistance and USB 3.1. The camera is excellent (I'm a news photographer, so I need something to work side by side for streaming). Downsides: a few HTC annoyances, like the emergency call button on the lock screen is the easiest to accidentally hit that I've ever seen. Never has this happened to me before in ten years of smartphone use. The rounded glass makes total protection difficult. The camera software and pro mode are very good, but not user-friendly. More information is needed on the settings when the cam is selecting parameters itself (ie: when adjusting something manually, how are the other parameters compensating?). There's some annoying bloat, but it's not too much. Plus 6gb and 128gb. What's not to love? Would love to have had the Huawei's camera in the U11, but they seriously did an excellent job. I'm done lamenting the death of my Nokia N8 and have conceded that newer cams and technology, despite smaller sensors, have outdone the larger sensor breakthrough cams of the 808 and mostly abysmal 1020.

This phone absolutely took care of call droping issues that I had with s7 edge and several lg phones. Sound is crisp on volte. Not a single call dropped at the same locations where I was dropping calls. Cant find a single thing to complaint about on this phone. Battery life is awesome. I get 7 hrs of SOT on wifi and 5 hrs on 4g lte. Huawei will mark the end of Samsung soon.

I just used firmware finder to update to the b162 update. Now the interesting thing.....the update did not complete, error message said package couldn't be found after installing to about 28%. But after reboot the about tab says I'm running the b162 update and it automatically started to download the b170 update.......yes a b170 update. Hi, I've received my P10 plus 2 days ago and I absolutely love it! I've charged it on the first day and it's still on 35% after heavy use, the screen is fantastic, the memory is fast. The only problem I had was this quiet rattling sound when you tap front or rear top of the phone. I've called Huawei and been told it's normal as there's some shock absorbing sensor and all versions of P10 have this sound when you tap it on the top of the phone (front or rear). Overall good job HUAWEI.

OP5 is fast fast fast. I think fastness is the biggest plus in OP5. Battery is good also. I don't know about the gaming as I don't play games. I think camera is the only thing where OP5 is not at flagship level like Huawei P10+ or even better camera like Samsung S8. I have tried but it keeps saying i'm running the latest software at B124. I managed to get update B151 with the use of Firmware Finder but it keeps stalling out during the update process....B151 is installed but it is still downloading B151 and says there are multiple patches to it. So far it's at patch 98 which is crazy since the update said it was 456 MB and the active size counter is at 69 GB.

First impression vs Oneplus 5: - P10+ has better display, colours are more rich. - I like the build and design more in P10+. OP5 in black colour is boring. - Huawei's EMUI software is a matter of taste. I like it. Oneplus' OIS is a bit too simple. - Oneplus 5 is maybe a bit faster I admit - I took a few quick fotos and p10+ has a better camera.No doubt! - P10+ is more expensive --> if you are on budget take OP5 but if you can afford P10+ take it because it is better for sure!

Using my P10+ now for just under one month. Very Impressed with its looks, performance, 128 On-board storage and battery life. The battery normally last me two to three days of moderate use and that is slightly better than the LG G4 witch I used before. Never experienced any over heating at all. Its still early days but this far I think its the best smart phone I ever used and will recommend it to all.

Each one have some good features, I have using the two devices, and I can say that the S8 plus is very nice and very awsome phone with good camera and good battery if using WiFi in all your connection I can reach 6H screen time. How many amps does the fast charger of samsung have? I have a samsung "fast" charger of the Note 4. It charges the Note 4 in 2 hours from 10% tot 100% and it charges my P10+ in 2,30 hours from 10 tot 100% or 2 hours from 30% to 90%. But the fast charger I got with my p10 plus has 4.5 amps @5v or 5 amps at 4.5v. This charges my P10+ from 10% to 100% in 1.30 hours and from 30 tot 90 in about 1 hour

However for the Sony I have found that the camera in the Xperia is mediocre and inferior compare to most of the other phones leaders. (Beside to bad camera, Sony has an excellent, robust and stable software). So with your and other similar reviews on the P10+ and NO Xperia, I left with HTC H11 and Sam 8 or 8+. My big resistance on the Sams is the "edge". I hate the screen curvatures... For all other features, Sam has never disappointed. I did not find major complains on the H11 beside a medium to low performance of its battery life. The camera of the H10 is very good, so I assume that also the camera for the H11 is good (good = close to the Sam performance)

I read some other opinions here and found myself alike many others - I went from Samsung Galaxy S6 edge to Huawei P10 Plus (6GB RAM, 128GB memory VKY-L29 version) just for the sake of change. Have had Samsungs for long time and thought, Ill try something else (wife has Xperias, so Im pretty familiar with those). First thing I noticed is that the screen isnt as good (IPS vs S6's AMOLED), but that didnt bother me. Also at first I kind of missed wireless charging, but not anymore. Good sides - The battery is much better - This is the first phone, that can really compete with Samsung's camera (IMHO) - I really like the speed of fingerprint sensor - its almost instantaneous, several times faster than S6. - Knuckle screen capture is an amazing function! - The Dual-SIM system is great, having a call on one sim, puts the 2nd sim on hold and redirects any call that comes to 2nd sim, on first sim. - Wifi-4G switch is really smooth with no cap in connection. - And I like the VoLTE funciton, altho its not very common yet (I only have 1 other contact, who uses VoLTE, but I call him pretty often :D But in general - I regret on going from Samsung to Huawei. There are several drawbacks: - No personal notification tones for contacts - Several apps dont work correctly (for example, with specific app use, one widget of another app always dissapeares from home screen) - Ringtone is sometimes crazy loud and sometimes super quiet - never in between and it doesnt matter, how I set it from phone - Battery lasts long, but acts strange sometimes - some mornings when I take it from overnight charging, it shows 99% right away, other times it takes 10-15min intensive usage (SO time) to go anywhere lower from 100% - Doesnt matter if from the app or security settings, some apps just dont show anything on lock-screen. - Some notifications dont come through, for example a game notifies when daily quest is available, but doesnt notify, when someone challenges you. The same game runs well when only my character is on screen, but gets serious lag when 2nd player is shown on the screen (both things worked well on other phones). - There is no way of turning off built-in app, that counts your steps - only way is to uninstall it. - MirrorShare has serious lagg. I mean, when I share my phone screen on my Philips TV, it never runs smoothly for 30 seconds in a row. If fortunate, then I get a few frames of delay and distortion, but usually video freezes for couple of seconds, then either jumps on the right frame, or starts all distorted to run faster until it reaches the right point. Audio, at the same time, runs smoothly. If I can live with all the other drawbacks, the MirrorShare lag is the most annoying one - does anyone have any experience with it and maybe even a solution or fix? As a conclusion, my personal opinion - I dont suggest Huawei P10 Plus...

I dont really recommend p10 plus unless you want bigger screen with QHD and 6GB of RAM. Camera wise p10 and plus are almost identical unless you pixel peek in night shot. Day to day performance is fluid and smooth. but mali G71 GPU is not that powerful. I noticed frame drops when playing mobile legends and sometimes lag and stutter. Battery life is above average and okay for me. ohh and no heat issue though. and dont expect to get monthly security patch in time, mine still stuck at June security patch. huawei is slow to roll out updates and patches. If I were you, I would wait for mate 10 with HiSilicon kirn 970 10nm. note 8 is coming out as well. not a good time to buy a new phone. you would be stuck with yesteryear 16nm not so energy efficient CPU and GPU

Yes, HTC and SAMSUNG is better than Sony for the camera. But, HUAWEI is not. I tried out using my dad's smartphone which is HUAWEI P10 PLUS, and I have something to say about it: it does much worse than my XPERIA XZ. Dual cameras? Heck yeah. But, the ISO level is crazy af. Even in daylight shots, it crank up the ISO to a high level and suddenly jumps down if moved. I try out taking a selfie of myself under the light and yet it crank up the ISO higher than my mum's GALAXY S6 and my XPERIA XZ. In low-light shots? The worse thing I ever seen for a smartphone with dual camera setup. It cranked up the ISO to the max for no reason and the noise levels are really just unbearable. I wonder how they control their camera setup because the sensitivity level is too high, and somehow the focus speed is slower than GALAXY S6 and XPERIA XZ. What's more weird is they disabled the zoom functionality for 20MP and enabled it for 12MP and below, when other smartphone manufacturers don't do that. They really need to improve their dual camera setup to be on par with HTC, SAMSUNG, Sony etc ESPECIALLY their ISO sensitivity

Unfortunately, all Sony models camera are much inferior than all HTCs or HUAWEIs or SAMs. Just look for the F# that is 2.0 for Sony Vs 1.8 or smaller than the others.

Hi all, what I can say abou tthe phone after the first 12 hours of use: the battery was 30% out of the box. I connected the (beefy) charger and after about 40 minutes it was already on 90%! Then I started to restore my backup, including some 60 apps (24gb), the charging got stuk at 94% for the duration of the restore (about 30 minutes) and got very hot. After about 6 hours of heavy use, the battery got down at 30% again, but for me that is a good time. The phone is a fingerprint magnet and it scratches very easily. I got my first scratches on the back after just one hour. You get a back case with it, so you really need it. But I find it irritating on my ear when calling. So it must go. Also the front protective layer scratches easily. The UI is very clean and almost no bloatware, some apps I don't want could be uninstalled anyway, so that's nice. There is only one app (so far I know) you cannot uninstall and that's trip advisor. why? lol. I feel no need to install a launcher, although I'm a fan of horizontal scrolling instead of vertical. The 128gb of memory is massive! After restoring the backup (the samsung with 32gb memory was full with 24gb) I still have 100gb free. The screen is bright, but not as good as an amoled from samsung. I can live with that. At low brightnes the colours look washed out. Overall very happy so far!

I got it! They only had the back/gray version. But I got discount, so can't complain. On the spec page it says: 64 GB, 4 GB RAM (L09) or 128 GB, 6 GB RAM (L29). On the box of my P10+ says model L09, so I expected 64GB/4GB but I got 128GB/6GB anyway! Only thing the L29 version has is dual sim.

The phone has a very good battery life, you could rate it 7/10. When charging it is very fast, (10/10) and it is not heated at all since the work is done by the charger. In the daily use I have not felt the minimum heating when demanding it.

amlboeton, I got this phone a week ago and I'm super happy. It has a physical home button but there are two modes for the 'go home', 'go back' and 'recent apps' actions. If you enable virtual buttons (there are 3 sizes from small to large) then you will see the virtual buttons within the screen. If you choose to use the home button for these actions (by enabling this option in the settings) then pressing continuously for half a second on the physical home button triggers 'go home', a short tick on the home button triggers 'go back' and, a little tricky, slide and touch on the button triggers the 'recent app' actions. Using the physical button saves you space on the screen but I personally prefer virtual button (small size). So, it's configurable. You have choice.

I bought 3 weeks ago the Huawei P10 Plus, 128GB, 6GB RAM, VKY-L29. I live in Canada and because this model is not available through carriers I bought it from a re-seller in USA. My previous phone was a LG G3 (with a 6500mA replacement battery) and as much as I liked it, it was dated and was looking for something newer. Things that I DID NOT want to compromise: > 36 hours of battery life in normal use, 2K display, minimum 4GB of RAM, minimum 64GB of internal storage, SD card support (at this price tag, you MUST support SD card), crisp & clear pictures, software support (LG sucks at it big time). My review: so far I am absolutely delighted by this phone! This is my first experience with Huawei UI and I found it was close to stock Android. Once I got it, I factory-reset it and configured it with my apps, I removed some bloatwares (very little btw), fully charged it, and then started testing the battery in normal conditions (working during the day so intense use in the morning or the night) until the battery dies on me: 53 hours of use. I have seen few reviews bitching the battery life though I cannot complain, even under heavy use (watching 3 movies back to back), still can expect 8H+ of use. I also noticed that the EMUI is doing a good power management job in the background, very satisfied, Huawei exceeded my expectations here with a 3750mA battery. I like the form factor, the side buttons (LG were on the back), the fingerprint reader is very zippy, great overall build quality, bought the blue back one and it is gorgeous! :) The display is crisp and because my friend has a Samsung S8+, we compared them side-by-side: far from being biased but we both agreed that the difference was not noticeable, maybe a tinny advantage for the S8+ for the brightness. As for the pictures, I am biased with Leica since I used to work for one of their affiliates (!) but if you know them, then you are aware of their focus on QUALITY. Pictures are outstanding, left my LG G3 far in the dust! I compared again with the S8+ and another Huawei phone (Honor 8), P10+ walks the talk with those Leica lenses. Can I complain? Absolutely not so far. Am I biased? Till I paid big money for this phone (USD + CDN exchange rate), I am expecting A LOT from it and I feel I get it. Water resistant? Can't care less, with this type of price tag this is my responsibility to take good care of it. Other phones? I have considered the Pixel, Oneplus 5, G6, S8, Mate 9 Pro, Honor 8, Zenfone 3, and there was always something not meeting my expectations while with the P10+ I was only annoyed with the price, higher for the S8+ or Mate 9 Pro. But since I crossed that fence and I can now enjoy the phone, no regret!!! I haven't experienced any of the issue I read in some reviews (poor battery life, battery overheating, mediocre display, average pictures), so call me lucky if you will but I rest my case - I recommend this phone!

I only use the phone for less than 3 weeks. Now is totally gone. Huawei don't let me claim warranty. I only bring y huawei p10 plus in my pocket and when wet during raining. When I reach home, the touch screen cannot use alr. And they declared total lost and cannot repair and warranty due to water damage. To all possible adopters, I got this phone 2 weeks ago, Belgrade Serbia. Two days after I bought it, an operator from Huawei calls me and says "Thank you for purchasing our P10 Plus, I'd like to inform you that you have a 3 year warranty and 3 month drop protection, if you drop your phone we will replace the unit or touchscreen" That is the second impression and it still makes shivers go down my spine as that is the best customer care I have ever encountered in any industry. First impression how ever was even better. Picking it up from the box screams "Quality, Performance and everything you ever wanted" and it is not even turned on yet. After the initial setup I was surprised at how responsive and quick everything felt, but gave my self a small nudge not to judge it as all phones do that until you install your daily routine apps. As a heavy user, both for business and pleasure, there are now over 50 consistently used apps on it, it has not suffered one bit. Responsiveness is there and I believe will be there for a long time to come as it just feels like it. The camera is amazing, and have been able to capture images out of hand in near pitch black conditions, again +1 for Huawei. It is plain simply amazing in every regard. Now to keep this as short as possible I'd like to address one down side mentioned in the official GSMA review. That is the music volume. I've had that luck (or not) to keep falling for phones with low volume output, read LG G3, Meizu Note 2. Both were on the border of being usable but with a good set of noise isolation headphones more than enough. This phone feels about 20% louder than that and as such I believe that loudness should be reviewed as to compare to such phones. It is more than enough to choke out any public transport or street noise at around 70%, at 100% you will probably hear a car crash but that's as far as it goes. It won't satisfy users that love the ear bleed effect, but for everyone else, just ignore the loudness remark. Thank you Huawei for restoring my faith in Android

Finally, after a long reviewing process, I got this phone. I LIKE IT!!! Speaker sound very clear and loud, I opened a lot of apps, but it used only half of its RAM's and Fingerprint works super fast, you can add all your five fingers if you want!!! In a lot of reviews, people are not satisfied with this phone screen, but for it is perfect: bright enough in the sunlight, and colours are super nice. And finally camera....PERFECT. I took some picture and without any filter, they look amazing :) And there is slow motion camera!!! To conclude, this phone is really great and I hope that it performs perfectly, and it is very comfortable in hand.

you know what is usually the problem? Any chrome or google related apps (anything that is hugely popular from google store even) can drain apps quite more significantly than similar apps targeted outside of North America. The deal here is that, you need to restrict background access to many and stop giving full permissions to many apps if you can. They do take up quite alot of data, gps and other functionalities, and end up running your memory all the time even when youre not using it.

very good phone, specs are all competitive in the current phone market. EMUI outstands the phone security and personal customization to the Android software. Camera is very unique. I have used it for 4 weeks now and it feels as if I am holding some really good digital camera with the most amazing touch panel. Timer setting has automatic face detection, and it pops up little box with timer and switches every few second to faces that are going to be taken, so everyone can look at their hair and their looks before being shot. Other features of the camera is that it has outstanding settings option to change to audio capture so when you say cheese or other things it will automatically take photo, and etc. In regards of phone's battery, it can hold about 1.3 days without playing any games, but all other frequent apps. It does not drain battery from apps as much as any other android I have used, Samsung 7, Samsung 8, Nexus 6p. EMUI comes with few battery saving options such as simple mode which turns your homescreen to 6 options so you can easily do your daily tasks, or the ultra battery saving mode which turns your phone mostly grey black with 6 customizable apps (your most needed ones can be chosen) so it lasts almost up to 8 hours even if your phone is at 10% more or less. Overall, the phone is absolutely gorgeous, sort of looks like iphone but it outweighs it with its highly innovative hardware and software. It can certainly compete far with Samsung 8, Oneplus 5 and Iphone soon. Buy this phone, if you can live with having direct Huawei customer service on your Hicare app. You can always get help with software or hardware issues there without having to google it or ask google directly on previous android platform which it did not always work. I had this phone since yesterday 53% battery I Burn the battery with high display and data usage it took 4hrs none stop test 53>6% 4:47 for me this is a nice battery but last also I have an update so I updated and install damn 100%> 17% 5hrs idle, browsing using wifi and no games at all burn all juice in 5hrs. QHD is very good resolution but the thing is that display quality does not just depend on resolution. The main thing is screen technology. Huawei phones uses IPS technology instead of AMOLED. IPS screens can't display as deep colors and deep blacks as AMOLED displays can. If you want to display time and date as screen saver, AMOLED screen will simply off the remaining part of the screen. Only the pixels used to display time/date will be on. On the other hand, IPS screen will keep the whole screen on, with the black screen in the background looking grey (light black). This will drain the battery faster. The ability to keep any part of the screen off with the other part/pixels being on at the same time is the beauty of AMOLED displays. Moreover, Huawei P10 and P10 plus lacks oleophobic coatings on their screens so the screens easily get oils which are very hard to clean on non-oleophobic screens. Thats why, Huawei displays are not as good.

Which world do you live in. 6gb+128gb p10 plus costs 685$. While the 4gb+64gb s8 costs 765$. Its has enough battery and phone easily last 1.5 day in moderate usage despite the QHD screen. P10 plus has better camera hardware wise than mate 9 and p10. However currently the results are only slightly better but with more software updates this will keep improving. Same chipset because the chipset was released in last quarter of 2016. What else do you expect. Huawei launches its next chipset with Mate 10. None of the reviewed show QHD screen taking a hit on gaming. So until then its just your imagination. Lastly Mate series and p series from Huawei are two different. Flagships from Huawei for different consumer group. One is not meant to be upgrade of the other.

In my country (Israel) it has been reported by an independent tester group that on some P10 PLUS phone Huawei is using eMMC 5.1 Memory, that is significantly slower than the required UFS 2.0. So P10 PLUS runs very slow on basic actions. This has been admitted by Huawei Richard Yu. This slowness cannot be repair by any SW patch. He does not want to identify by Serial number what are these phones. So watch up when you purchase this phone BTW Mate 9 has UFS memory. Another bug on P10 (and maybe on P10P) is the touch screen. Most of the manufacturers are using expensive technology to reject oil stain and finger prints. Huawei is using a simple cover that may wear of some time.

But it is not as durable as the people expecting a high quality aluminium and gorilla glass 5. i dropped once and suffers several scuff and one tiny piece of the glass chipped off from the corner. I was lucky enough to not break or shattered. all of these because you cannot get a proper case the time when the device launched. there is a clear plastic case out of box but it is not for me... i wish i had it yesterday... :)

OK So a couple days with the P10 Plus and I have some useful tip Be careful what type of earphones/headphones you use, because I used a 3rd party earphones and the jack plug has a metal rim which rub off the paint around the input. The software has a fault too, because I have two different device(due to dead pixel on the first) the sound sometimes not playing enough bass and sound terrible. ( The first did this when a notification arrived, the second do when has an alarm... ringtone, music, youtube sounds brilliant ). I hope they will push out an update soon for this. the glass is fingerprint magnet and hard to remove because no any coating on it. screen protector must! and not just fingerprint everything can make mess on your glass. The glass of the camera lens is curved and the sunshine can ruin your photo, but sometimes can make it better too. ( same effect can be seen on the Google Pixel phones.) The battery is a biggest disappointment for me, the last 4 years I used AMOLED screens with huge batteries (RAZR Maxx, DROID Maxx, Moto Maxx so maybe this is the reason and that was a reason I wanted the Mate 9 Pro but unfortunately not available any of the UK carriers. ) even the Moto maxx lasted easy two days with medium usage and this under 40% after one day of medium usage. 59% today with all day battery saver on. The app twin app is just for social media, I would use for paypal :( The good thing is huge storage/RAM, lightning fast, good customization in EMUI, nice display, knuckle gestures fun for me.Fingerprint gestures works fine, I use this because I do not like the on-screen buttons. I like to change my phones if its not fit for my requirements, and I am not sure with this P10 Plus yet. I definitely would not buy Pay and Go for £699 or £649.

To have almost 1000mAh is a plus. But not necessarily so. As long as the OS is not optimized, a big battery will do no good no matter what. S8 or P10. I have the P9 plus now and is satisfied with it. I don´t like the take of puttin sensor in front. Having it at the back was great. And its way easier with one hand movement to unlock the phone. Don´t like the top and bottom bezels on this either. Whats remarkable is the 'width' of this phone is only 74.2 mm. This is superb making it easy to hold for a lot of people. Only the galaxy a7 (2016) version has lesser width and that too by just 0.1 mm. Its width is 74.1 mm. But other samsung and other company 5.5 phones have greater width. The iphone plus size version has a whopping 77.9 mm width. Even with the same 16:9 screen aspect ratio as this P10 plus. If apple makes another 5.5 inch phone this year....it really really really really needs to work on the width of the phone. Yeah, the iPhone 7 plus because you can add storage, Personalise it, use widgets, Multitask, have a guest account (share it with others, without worrying, child mode etc.), use it as a live usb drive, record phone calls, see all callers ID with truecaller, Backup photos even on standby, add a bigger battery, and use it as a remote control. Much more too. EDIT - Sorry, I meant you can't do any of those on an iPhone. I would go for the Huawei P10 Plus.

Wow, they actually increased the bezels from P9 Plus and stuck an ugly button on the bottom one. I prefer my fingerprint at the back thanks. This phone is a setback from the P9 which currently my primary phone. Really dislike big fat bezels. G6 got it right this time, to bad LG phones are terrible build quality.

I switched from Samsung note 3 to Huawei P9 Plus on 24 Oct 2016, everything is good except 2 features, 1st, cannot support call recorder, 2ndly, navigation bar on the screen. I think it will perfect if the navigation bar placed at the bottom outside the screen.

Thats true. Honor 9 by the time it hit international stores would be like September. I guess then its just about having a hands on feel of both the P10 and P10 plus. Since camera is important to you, the P10 plus has the best camera from Huawei with F1.8 aperture for better low light shots. And then you get the 2k display and Stereo speakers as well. Also has slightly better screen to body ratio.

LG & Samsung are manufacturing own displays and they are able to bring one out only this year and not 2 years ago. 6gb two years ago was a waste as there was no apps that require so much ram and people don't use their mobile more than 1-2 years.

The same way I was telling huawei to move to 6gb of ram about 2 years ago when they were doing 2gb and 3gb of ram. Some body wrote and said there was no need for 6gb of ram. It's a waste. I said the will help run the phones smoothly with better speed. Very soon after that Vivo came up with 6gb of ram. some people criticised but I am very glad we are there in that 6gb of ram now. Now 2017 and 2018 most companies will make 6gb of ram for their flagship phones. 8gb of ram will also emerge very soon.

Great phone but for me the only thing I dislike about this phone is the top and down wasted thick space in front. They should have reduced it to reduce the length, (big screen in small body) that is what we look for. I have being saying this to huawei for about two years now. I wanted huawei to lead this era of design but they ignored me. How ever am glad some companies have seen the need for this, Samsung, LG, Xiaomi etc are getting it done. I think I must go for the Mate 9 or mate 9 pro.

P10, P10 plus & Mate 9 are all different sizes. If size not a problem, then P10 plus has the best overall spec, followed by the Mate 9 pro. Mate 9 standard because of lower display resolution will have the best battery life out of all, and they also have smaller bezels. While P10 with 5.1 inch screen will be closest to better one hand usage. With larger battery despite same screen resolution, we could see better battery life than P9. But yes it looks like p10 has the same camera as Mate 9.

Coming from the P9 plus, the P10 plus did improve on the basics and is a proper upgrade. Which is surprising considering there is a 5.5inch Mate 9 pro already. To be reminded the P series focuses on two main aspects 1) built quality/design/fashion and 2) camera and so the breakthrough are in this department. Yet it is a well all rounded device. So whats new on the P10 plus compated to the p9 plus: - 2K display although not AMOLED. Less black borders. Gorilla 5 protected. - more range of colors and texture. No fingerprints marks and better grip. -More curved finish, although P9 plus was good enough. - 6gb ram version (In china, even the base 64gb version comes with 6gb ram) - Larger 3750mAh battery although needs to be seen if it proportionally holds up to the 2k display. The Mate 9 pro has 4000mAh battery. - P10 plus uses the F1.8 "pro edition" rear camera, being the best of best from Huawei. $k recording. OIS. - leica front camera - Better GPU. And not over clocked CPU (that effected the battery life of P9plus for marginally better benchmark scores) - No force touch (which was gimmick on the P9 plus) - Front finger print sensor with navigation controls. - NFC payments - The dual sim, expandable memory, stereo speakers, IR blaster remains. - What it did not have despite the predictions: the curved display of the Mate 9 pro, the Infra red face recognition sensor, Graphite mix battery fast charging (fastest charging tech out there) and the whole AI thing of the Honor magic.
