To update go to - ­ and find Ideos X2(Huawei U8500) under product name and download it ! now place the download file ie; update.app in your phone sd card by making a folder named "dload" in your sd card. Now unplug USB turn off your phone and turn on volume down + call end button(red) and power button together. Tada....the update starts Note: you should have enuf batter charge or else you may end in a brick !!!

Turn off the phone. Than after it's off hold power button, hang up button and volume up together and keep holding it for like 30 sec. Than selection screen should appear and select reset all data. You will lose all your phone memory and settings but will unlock it.

It's not ur phone problem, it's ur chip problem . Maybe Ur chip contain virus or wad.. Go get a new chip and there should be no problem ! Hope this helps :)

Honestly,gp crystal sucks.Haven't used galaxy y but its screen resolution and screen size is poor.I think you should buy huawei sonic (u8650) as it has better specs.

Try to long press on power button, if not work then go for force update with official 2.2.2 ROM. Download this & set it (dload folder) to the root of ur SD card nd then try to force update by pressing Call end button + Volume up button + Power button.

Thanks for ur advice, I cannot success according to ur process. But finally I can installed LeWa ROM in my device & update it with latest version. Process is too simple to install. 1. 2.2 or above android version required 2. Root ur device 3. Download LeWa ROM & copy to SD card 4. Download ROM Manager from market 5. Power off device & press Red button + volume down button + power button (fast boot) 6. connect USB cable & double click on recovery.brush file 7. phone will start recovery mode 8. open lewa ROM from SD card with ROM manager 9. select wipe data & cache+select wipe delvic cache & press OK After that ROM Manager will automatically delete ur previous ROM & Installed LeWa ROM. Those who r interested to installed LeWa ROM can follow this Process & before follow please read carefully Tanin026 posted tutorial. All link are found their for LeWa ROM. You may face Market not working, don't worry go to Settings-Version update & update ur device with latest version. Everything thing perform well & this is the best ROM in my experience. NB: 2.2.2 official ROM must store ur PC or another SD card for forced update in the case of LeWa ROM Installation aborted. Sorry for my bad english.

Tired with eclair or froyo???? Come to the world of gingerbread 2.3.7 1. Go through this link & download the ROM for gingerbread 2.3.7 for your GP crystal (Huawei U8500). 2. Place the file in root of SD card 3. Now download ROM manager from market & install 4. ROM manager will want root permission so download z4root through---- and install. 5. Now settings---application---development---check USB debugging 5. Open z4root through app drawer & tap permanent root which will reboot your phone after rebooting you will see superuser through app drawer. 6. now open ROM manager---flash clockworkmod recovery---wait sometimes---select huawei ascend----wait until superuser permission---succesfully flash clockworkmod notification will come. 7.hit backup current rom under rom manger after succesfull rom backupphone will be rebooted 8. reboot in recovery mod through ROM manager, wipe data/factory reset-----install zip from SD card----choose zip from sd card----select the particular zip file---confirm the installation by dpad Installation will be done. Before going to update your phone you should bear in mind the following things--- Your phone must be rooted which will void your license if your phone may face any problem I will not be responsible for that. This is by default Russian ROM so your language will be Russian but you can change the language through settings menu. Super one clik do work because i used it to root my gp crystal. at first it haven't worked. i have tried for 15 times but failed. got frustated. tried z4root but it also failed. then i just changed the usb port and tried again. Viola! it just got rooted on the first try. At first u have to make sure ur phones drivers r successfully installed, then change the usb port. u also have to enable usb debugging mode. Want to try some super fast custom ROMs! I got one for you! Below I described the process of how to unroot your Gp Crystal phone and install a custom ROM in it. By doing this you void your contract with GrameenPhone! And in the process of installing this ROM if you brick your phone I take no responsibility! Procedure to update Gingerbread 2.3.5 on GP Crystal 1. Before we proceed to the procedure, you will have to first ensure that you put the ROM (link given below) you are going to install in to the root of your phone�s memory card which you can do by simply transferring file from the computer to the phone via USB cable. 2. Now, next up you will have to root the GP Crystal Phone with the help of the SuperOneClick (link given below). First, you need to download SuperOneClick application and need to enable USB debugging in your phone by pressing Menu, then you need to tap on Settings, then Applications, Development and need to check on option USB debugging. 3. Now, after changing to USB Debugging, connect your phone with your computer using USB cable and launch the SuperOneClick from your computer and just tap on Root button. 4. As soon as you tap on Root, the device will be rooted. If rooting was a success, then you�ll see a new Superuser app in your app drawer/tray and if the rooting is not successful all you will have to do is to just repeat the above procedure. Yes this is the right link for upgrading.... u have to make a folder named dload in the root of ur sd and put the downloaded file in it. This phone can be upgraded to froyo and gingerbread. Froyo runs well without any problem. But in gingerbread update lot of problem exist such as one way voice call, no androidmarket, gmail app, small font. No flash support in this phone.

I updated GP Crystal to Gingerbread 2.3.2 beta version but it has numerous bugs! Unsorted screen resolution and one way voice call makes it impossible to continue in Gingerbread. If i can fix it i'll let u people know...but before that forget about the warranty (since u can restore the original Eclair anytime) and go for FrYo. It works perfectly and the CPU actually runs faster with greater efficiency. Process of getting FrYo is already posted so just follow it.

Just got mine after owning an HTC Wildfire for 6 months....Firstimpressions is it's slighlty better!....the screen is better, screen touch is better. sound from the speaker is much better and good quality....connection to wifi is the same as HTC....camera better...though no flash...incoming voice seems quiet as does headphone....but that might be my settings.....only on sale from Cales Ohlsson in Sweden.....and at under 1000sek...these babies will sell fast once word gets around! Very Happy so far!

When you connect your phone via usb, there is this usb icon on the top of the screen. You have to press it and then a window will be open where u can select "activate usb storage", u select this option and there it is, you can now navigate the sd on your computer.

2.2.1 supports multitouch, according to SystemPanel Lite it has ARM v6 compatible rev 2 (v6l) 600MHz CPU (v6 basically means it does not support Adobe Flash released on Android Market and will not work even if you manually install package). It has 192MB ram and fairly easy to use. Screen responds fine, however screen protector should be used since (haven't tested) surface is not mentioned as scratch resistant in manual. GPS worked, although a bit slow. Earphones included in package are garbage, however it has 3.5mm slot for any headphones of choice, and i believe it supports mic as well. Wifi connection works fine, although range is not great (requires more testing).

Bought it for 100� from Sweden and Its a great phone! first felt little slow but i rooted it and deleted some nonsense language packs and apps what i dont need, or what i had replaced(maps, camera, calender, gmail, search) major speedboost rightaway!!! then installed new home (ADW) and works like charm!!! no lagging what so ever!! it has everything even the radio, screen is amazing in daylight even with lowest brightness!! and amazingly it has been stable as hell (no freezing, no system crashes) only bugg is that its to weak for plaing HD and 3D games, but hey... why they invented PSP??? so not a big bugg:D but at the moment im testing overclocking (running on 750 mhz at the moment and rising it after every charging to test the stability) so we see if i reach the level to help out bad graphic support with pure processor speed:) So if u looking for new android and its available in your country, then its worth to buy it, because it looks nice and clean, its not very common model and lets be honest phone looks good max 3-5 month and then u start already thinking about changing it:) lets hope huawei surprises again:)

Pls. correct the specs! This phone does have FM-radio. I saw it today and there is FM-radio on board for sure. Very well built, nice trackpad, but more sensitive than usual, nice hardware buttons. I'm sick of touch-buttons. Big surprise - 5 home-screens in raw x 3 home-screens in vertical position. 15 home-screens!!! selectable by the trackpad. The same as U8110 and U8150. Nice job. I do not know how is the sound, but GSMARENA should finally make some reviews of U8110, U8150 and U8500. The office is located in Sofia/Bulgaria and this phones are already on our market. And they are interesting, especially price/possibilities ratio.

Excellent Android 2.1 smartphone, purchased for 100 euros. Has everything, except radio(but who cares about it today?). Just compare it to HTC Desire, almost identical features, and that one costs 300 euros more! Design is very good, Android interface quite ok. A lot of widgets, still have to install some third party apps to have complete picture. On negative side, you see some flaws in the design: usb and phone jack are on the top, normally they should be on the bottom end of the case. Answering buttons should be in colour or at least with better pictograms. It is strangely lightweight, I would love it a little bit more heavy, perhaps the frame should be in metal? Grab it, if you get it for this price.

Well, I sell mobiles, and from the feedback I get from our clients, Huawei is making great phones, specially if you look at its prices... The U8230 for example has had great feedback, and it's an Android phone, with good touchscreen that costs less than �200...
