  • I am from India and I have had this phone since last one year. Frankly no complains (thought there has been technological up-gradation in the market but that's fine) I have 2 issues with the phone. 1. when i got this phone, I was able to see the attachment from my emails and also send and receive them with ease. since last 2 months, I have not been able to open any attachment and also not been able to send any emails (receiving emails is fine) 2. I was using Palm Treo 680 previously, with both the phones, there is a network issue. When I'm in home network it works fine. When I'm in roaming i can receive the calls bt i cannot make any calls. I checked with my service provider also and from their end its all fine. I inserted my SIM card in other phone while roaming, and it works fine. Can anyone help me with my problem?

  • Now a days answering is possible only through loudspeaker. Pls help me to overcome this problem

  • Yes. Just tap on your Email icon on the home screen and then hit menu and then options. You will see a tab labelled signatures. Tap on that and uncheck where it asks you to use the signature for that email account. If you are running multiple email acounts on the phone you will need to select the correct account from the drop down.

  • It's a very 9ce phone but i can't recieve any file through bluetooth pls help me if there is any one know how to recieve?

  • ....people like you need to just use an iphone... thats what they are there for.... if you are computer literate....THEN use palm. Palm phones can do everything an iphone can do and much more but because the functions are more than 1 button away (because of all the options associated with each function) and because it doesn't have a pretty, bubbly UI, the general masses like the iphone. IF you know how to use it properly...of course your msgs are going to jam up the memory if you keep pushing the buttons over and over because you can't wait the 5 secs it takes to process the first msg.

  • Nice phone by all standard. My customers always ask for it!

  • been usin treo pro for for 1year....quite satisfied wd it, though it has its own drawbacks..... yes,it had a bug of sendin a single msg multiple times but after a hard reset,i never had ds prblm.... sound n camera quality is jst avg n the processor speed too is jst like dt...but the headphone provided with it is superb... in areas where the network reception is poor, the phone jst gets idle... zero connectivity... but after switchin off and then switchin on the phone once, network reception is back again.... overall, with so many windows mobile apps workin fine on this mobile,im satisfied with it....

  • As long time palm user(m505,treo180,treo600,treo750,treo pro), this phone is excellent for work but its a little bit dull for fun. Most palm device designed for corporate users. if you know how to utilize the features, this phone is excellent.

  • i hate this phone. do not buy it. i have nothing installed on it yet it is the slowest phone i have ever had. texts dont send if another one is coming in at the same time, texts are sent multiple times even when i do not resend them, i have to do a hard reset every few days due to the phone not responding, and the internet freezes all the time. occasionally, when i have a phone call, the phone wont even let me answer it, and im so frustrated! cannot wait to get a new phone! go blackberry.

  • what shell are you using?

  • How to change the ringtone?

  • Is possible to turn of the treaded sms on this phone? Also, is it possible to delete the "Sent from my Windows® Phone" on settings so you don't have to remove it every time you send an e-mail? (I have used a Win 6.5 standard before)

  • I just bought my phone in April '10 and I have not had any problems or malfunctions. The only issue I have is that the phone is boring and I hate WM6.1. I have found a shell that does a pretty good job at making the phone more fun or functional. Does anyone know how to upgrade to WM6.5?

  • Yeah it 'ill work, I went to india and it was working great with Airtel,Vodafone and Idea Punjab, Don't worry...

  • It has both, I lost my phone last friday...It was a good phone

  • does it have document editor or just the veiwer

  • this is an excelent phone, maybe the OS will not look as flashy as an android phone buy it is very funtional and works great. I had a treo 750 first, but it was too slow. This one however is fast, it's gps locks quick, has reasonable battery life, it has wifi and is very compact. Draw backs: camera picture quality should be better, it can not beat a sony ericcson camera.

  • Is this works fine, with Idea Cellular (India) GSM network? Moving from non network coverage area to coverage area, is the Palm Pro have to reset to get the coverage? Because old models from Palm, i faced the same coverage problem.

  • A master reset will do

  • i have had my phone for about a year, and i love it. it has been through a lot and still works as if its new. but i need some help. it keeps on popping up and saying that the storage memory is low... how can i fix this?

  • While receiving calls the volume is low. How can i increase it???

  • I have this phone for the last year and have a mixed opinion. Its lightweight and have cool looks, but i recomend this phone only if you are going to use it in a basic way (talk, camera, hear music, email), if you are going to install a buisness aplicaction dont use this phone!! freezes up quite often when you enter the aplication and have to remove the battery, also sometimes when you talk suddenly it shuts down. No on and off button so if you want to completely shut it down have to remove the battery.

  • There are two features I currently have in my Palm Treo that are must-haves for me in a future handheld device and I am still unclear how iPhone fares: 1. Multiple profiles (silent-discrete-meeting-default-night-etc.) and ability to initiate triggers automatically (eg. 5-times daily switch to SILENT for 45 minutes based on manually defined times - unlimited number of similar triggers) 2. Seamless editing and sync of MS Office documents including creation in the handheld device. Please can you help me make a decision.?

  • I have been plagued with the following issues. The clock time changes on its own from one region to another. The time on the received message is different. A new message does not appear on the screen and it gets lodged somewhere and you need to scroll to find the message. The same is also on the call logs. The previously dialed number gets into the middle of the call log.

  • REALLY BAD PART....the phones are plagued with issues! Our phones are freezing up and the only way to solve it is to remove the battery, or even worse sometimes do a hard reset! My text messages have started appearing throughout the log, no longer following the previous text from that person, so in reality you have to go hunt the text! Last night it woke me up at 3:45 am, with an alarm from my 6:45 wake up call, the phone read 3:45....(i thought i was losing my mind), then right in front of my eyes, it changed to 6:45, and the alarm started all over again! ====================================================== Me too, facing with the same issues as what Mr. Dwyco had described above. I had adjusted the clock of this phone for umpteen times already and still the clock went haywire once in a while. As for my NEW & UNREAD messages, it appears somewhere in the log of my past exchanged messages. WTH!

  • fyi, this is a touch screen phone. :)

  • How much would you fringe your treo

  • This is the first Palm handset that has a really nice design. And it is not as clunky as earlier models. If you don't want the Palm Pre because you want a physical qwerty, but you still want a Palm, then the Treo Pro is probably the best phone to go for. But like all Palm models is does freeze up on an alarmingly regular basis which will force you to reset at least once a month. Aside from that, it is a solid Palm phone.

  • I have this treo prio about a year already. it help me a lot on online and email. but now I have htc snap and my treo just keep for spare. I wanna sell it. ros u wan?

  • well i love used palm. At the moment i am using Palm Treo 650 and it is reliable phone. I intend to buy latest vision. Can somebody where is palm dealer in Malaysia, i have difficulties to find it. Thank You

  • no radio, no 3g video call secondary camera, not a touch screen phone, palm is dying and htc is rising!

  • hi, i just came to know about Palm Treo Pro from my friend who is living in Australia, he brought it for me, its really nice to having suck kind of cell phone like this one. wifi is working fabulous. n such king of nice features.......... sexy cell phone... with sexy looookkk...................

  • its amazing cell phone, easy to use, n with excellent looooook................

  • Can any one tell where in india this mobile is available?

  • This is a nice phone. Type with your fingernails and you can turn on key clicks so you know when a key has been pressed. Admittedly because it is a vertical phone the keys are underneath the screen making the screen that much smaller but it works well. Plenty of apps from which to choose. Nice wi-fi.

  • WM6.5 custom ROM for Treo Pro download:

  • in that case you must have the smallest fingers known to man. I find I spend most of my time trying to hold the stylus in my mouth while writing an email then using the stylus to send it. Overall a really horrible way of working.

  • We just bought 5 of these phones for our business. The Pro represents our 3rd round of palm phones, and sadly most likely our last. The Pro is a nightmare! From the start the phone operates very very differantly from previous palm os based phones, change is not always a bad thing, but the operational features of this phone are a step back from our previous 755p model. If u want to send a text, it takes three steps, the screen is slow to react, the battery life is a joke, most of us are only making it about half a day before needing the battery recharged. Aside from the fact the phone operates so differantly from previous palm units, now the REALLY BAD PART....the phones are plagued with issues! I have people calling my wife or my land line asking why i have not called them back, my phone has never rung! Yesterday my wides phone refused to dial a phone number in the contacts, just would not work, she removed the battery and then magically the same contact number worked fine. They are JUNK......i have contacted Sprint, and told them we give up!, REPLACE the phones with a differant model or we are outta here.....i havae only listed a "few" of the problems we are having, i could go on and on..but trust me they look slick, but are just not worth owning!

  • You can use the Palm Treo Pro 850 without ever having to use the stylus. I use mine daily in business and onl pull out the stylus if i am killing time. You can use the nav key to nave anywhere in the phone. so, it's a preference thing.

  • this is true, you can put the device into airplane mode, or pull out the battery to copletely shut down the phone;.

  • they say you cannot turn off this device??

  • Excellent smartphone for business and personal use. Glossy black, slim and light weight. Using it for the past 8 months. superb performance and experience. available unlocked from TotalPDA:

  • Sorry,, sms text forwarding working already ,,, again dont post ,, sorry PALM for the negative words.. God bless you all

  • SMS text forwarding not activated ,, please tell PALM ,, it is a basic feature ............................

  • This is a good smart phone, with good design and features, If you are a music lover i has great sound quality, camera is better in 2MP phones. If you lover business phones, then no other is better option for you, but if you like toy phone like symbian OS, then don't go for it, because developers are running behind symbian OS. GPS application is a demo version for 1 month and phone operator specific, i.e not working with majority of operators. Business features are awesome. Embedded Internet explorer is worse, but Opera Mobile and Skyfire are excellent. So, It's up to you, what you decide.

  • Palm Pro is great!, BlackBerry lovers, simply...stay with BlackBerry, like storm model, that is a real storm -anything works in this BB model-!. Palm Pro contains all ways to stay sync, BT, IR, EDGE, etc. and it contains a strong procesor. i love Palm

  • Had this phone for around 7 months now and very disappointed. The keys are too small to the point of being useless. Bear in mind the whole idea of this phone for me was its qwerty keyboard. The phone charges using microUSB. A format that is very rare and much harder to get spare cables for. ( fair enough my fault should have read the spec thoroughly ). Standby is simply garbage and equivalent to around a day. The GPS cuts off randomly and only picks up the signal once you power cycle the phone after removing the battery. The touch screen is poor in response and for some reason doesnt react to touch in the traditional manner that you would expect. ( I have to use my finger nail as the stylus has fallen out...) There was a reason why i have always stayed away from Palm. This phone compounded that train of thought and i shall certainly never buy another Palm again.

  • Treo ProBT patch??? if i perform a hard reset this file will be conserved? My treo shows this file at Start/settings/system tab/remove programs.

  • Having used smart phones/blackberry's for years I moved to a new company and was given a Palm Treo Pro. I have found this phone to be one of the worst phones I have ever used for business. The need to use a stylus is irritating and means you have to put the stylus down while using your fingers on the keypad. The OS is OK as its a Microsoft, but again fundamental issues remain that make the Blackberry so much better. Typing on the keys is difficult as they appear too small, simple controls such as holding a letter down does NOT make it a capital and generally it is considerably slower to use than any other device I have had. One thing that I find completely and utterly stupid is the fact you can not turn this phone off...ever! You have to remove the battery. Overall I would say this is a really poor substitute to most of the Blackberry range and I personally hate my Treo, which is a shame considering the amount of time I spend using it.

  • Press the send and end buttom (green and red) at the same time. while doing this place the stylus pen into the tiny hole right in the back of the phone where the stylus is. relase the stylus after pressing for several seconds (keep pressing green and red key)a message will appear on the screen press up arrow to submit, down arrow to cancel the procces.

  • It is nice, but how come it can't launch to the internet while you are on the phone? also how come there are certain pages on the web the this huge phone simply dont go into? example www.gemoney.com I can't go to my account? iphone doest it all...

  • it tuff and its cheep for a good pohne

  • Does anyone have any ideas what the procedure for getting one of these repaired is in England? I have had it since January (Approx) Software faults like freezing etc Thanks

  • ok its really simple, just get a scissors and a measuring tape... measure out 240 x 240 and cut d rest out. be warned you might endup with a "qwer" keyboard without the "ty"

  • My Palm Treo pro is giving me a hell of problems and i havent known how to go about it. I experience problems with USSD commands which are used in my network (Vodacom Tanzania). at times they work and at times they dont. The emails could stay for long without any reason, then later they all come through. What can i do?

  • I have bought a Palm Treo Pro. when I switch on the phone it connects itself to EDGE but not G3. would you please advise me how I can configure it ? regards

  • I would like to comment on how disappointed I am at Palm's support. The short version is I got a new Treo Pro on June 30, 2009 through my local phone company at a discounted price. On August 11 the touchscreen stopped working (it did display but didn't feel the stylus or my finger or any other object). Took it for warranty and Palm wouldn't honor warranty claiming it had been physically abused, although the phone was still new and just had the regular scuff marks and scratches any plastic device you carry in your pocket will develop. My experience with it is that I really didn't like the windows 3.1 style OS. It doesn't have call counters, stopwatch, simple gadgets that made life easier with previous sony ericsson. Connection to Outlook worked sometimes other not (outrageous since I agreed to have a windows phone especifically to be able to sync to outlook). Also it's not easy to use with one hand. I connected it to my car's stereo but it always changes song after a call. Battery life started miserable, but got better with use. You definitely need to charge it every night and disconnect it until you're ready to leave home. My biggest disappointment was when after only 41 days of use the touchscreen wouldn't sense anymore. The display worked but simply the stylus or any other object had no effect on it. The phone worked but only the buttons. I tried to reset the treo, but that rendered the phone useless since the first thing it asks after resetting is to align the screen with the stylus. I never could get past that screen. I took it for warranty (to my phone company, Tigo). They would take it to the authorized service center for the warranty claim . After waiting for more than a week, I got the dreadful news that the phone would NOT be covered by warranty because it had physical abuse. WTF??? The phone still looks and smells new. The rep showed me that there were some marks that could be "felt when scratched with your nail". That means physical abuse. I was furious. They covered their asses showing me the report from the authorized repair center stating warranty would not cover it and that I had to pay the repair ($300) or buy a new phone. Well there's your warranty for all of you thinking about buying this phone. You may like it, but you'll be sorry later when you try to use that fake warranty. They'll use any excuse before replacing it. I ended up buying a Nokia E71 which I'm happier anyway because it has more features, does not slow down, can be used with one hand and has all the little gadgets that make your life easier.

  • is this phone nice?

  • This review says the flash memory is expandable up to 8gb, but the Palm website says up to 32gb. What else is wrong in this review?

  • I currently have a Treo 750 throught Telstra Next G, and am looking at the Palm Pro as mine has decided not to send SMS's - Yes all the correct numbers and settings are correct. I do have issues with resets all the time & blue tooth locking up with my current phone. What is the go with the Pro - like the Idea of a Regional Blue Tick for country use. Advise would be great

  • That's because the Palm Pre is CDMA... and this is GSM arena!

  • Err, i think it's PHASE-OUT, not paste out. Oopsie. :)

  • I wrote a review of this mobile on Nov 2008. I'm still using it. Battery has been very good for the intensive use I make of it and haven't had any other problems. The only negative thing I've found is the plastic carcase, it has cracks all over. Palm have to improve the package of its phones. They are behind Nokia and BB. So far I still believe its the best Windows mobile phone available on the market.

  • yes,,,i replaced my se p990i to palm treo 680 and i dont have any problem with palm treo680 in fact i bought palm pro because of palm's excellent performance specially on touchscreen and resolutions and features

  • I absolutely LOVE my Treo Pro! Had the 800 before this one. I think the Palm phones are great. I prefer them over any other manufacturer.

  • Ever since the Centro all the palm keyboards have sucked. now they are way to small and hard to get used to. and the palm pre doesnt loook like its keyboard is any bigger

  • i love palm but i think new motorola phone a3100 is very beter even q11 is beter too

  • Its actually expandable to 16GB

  • yo gsmarena! where in the world is your news for the palm pre?? it seems like youre the only site that doesnt even mention it!

  • it looks kool! but idk so is it?

  • currently using an XDA Stellar , looking to upgrade in next few weeks .thought this phone looked good , does anyone have anythikng good to say about it lol

  • I was having problems receiving files too but I could send. The solution: on the Palm go to Start->Settings->Connections->Beam then tick "receive all incoming beams" should do the trick.

  • phone is great except for the clustered keypad and the weak stylus already broke mine less than a month

  • Cannot switch phone off. Battery life is horrendous. Keypads are too small. Voice Quality Poor.

  • Having switched from a 750V (with all its problems sorted), I was looking forward to a great leap forward with the Pro. Yes it has all the wizzy things the modern exec needs (but rarely uses). However I am now in a quandry as all my colleagues with E71's doubt my decision making skills. The case on my pro has started to crack in several places, this is despite me buying one of those velvet lined aluminium holders, additionally the sync facility locks up and then requires a reset. Also every time the gprs drops out I get a message come up on the screen telling me so, the only problem with this is that it opens a new window to tell me so each time. So before I can actually use any other function I have to close these windows. Finally whats happened to the smileys for the sms texting? Had it with the 750v now its gone!!!!!! Seems to me that Palms quality has gone down, perhaps maybe reminiscent of the Titanic.

  • anyone have problem with the blue tooth? my cann't send or recieve files from Nokia 5310 and HP laptop. But it show pair with both of them. Am I setup wrong or what? anyone help. thanks

  • My friend, if you have used your old Tungsten to sync the contacts with the MS Office Outlook on your PC, then there's no problem. You sync the new Palm with your PC. Otherwise, check the palm site support.

  • finally a palm that has wi-fi!!! hurray!

  • in most cases you should be able to transfer data from any sim into any data device i know it worked from my crappy 3 year old nokia to a BB bold when i decided to upgrade its worth a try however i could be wrong as ive never used palm phones before goodluck

  • I have a palm tungsten e2 handheld which holds all my addresses. I use this and a simple mobile phone. If I drop the simple phone and change to a treo pro will I be able to transfer my data to it and use that as my only device? Any advice welcomed.

  • going from the 680 to Pro is going to be some step considering the Pro is a windows mobile os, but if you looking at the Pro for status or aesthetic reason then you should get it, but if its for business then just stick to what you know for now, which in my opinion for you would be the Palm Centro 685

  • yes the pro has chat-style-view, i have hands on experience, for further queries just drop me an email

  • cannot. Palm Pro is running on the Windows mobile platform.

  • I have a Treo 650. Can I use the phone data base on the Pro?

  • Woops, that was my bad. Did not even understand the post before replying sorry!

  • @Nancy This phone runs on Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, if you see the specs

  • I am in Real Estate and need to work with alot of paper work such as contracts etc. Can the Balckberry Bold also support that kind of documentation? I need to make my phone my office. Windows I know will work for me but I really like the Bold

  • Hi , for people like me who wanna listen to music , Palm is a better choice because of that 3.5 mm headset (standard). Blackberry is the best choice for people who have top secret codes , etc . i've heard that in britain when police arrested a gangster group and wanted to check the boss's phone ( that was blackberry) , they couldn't unlock the phone to get the secret codes , even when they gave help from the best hackers !! , so If you aren't a mafia or yakuza (!!!!!) , it seems palm will be your choice . Good luck !

  • yes

  • Hi ,I am working at bestbuy mobile and we have tmobile ,verizon ,At&t and about 10 difrent brands of unluckd phones . betwine about 40 diffrent phones that we have the bold is my fevorite it have a great speaker , big size keypad ,great screen quaility, good camera and a option to expend the memory up tp 32 G ,fast softwere and one last thing the bold like most of the other blackberries is extremally durable . the palm pro is for sure the best palm phone by far they improved the softwere and its a bit more user friendlly then its step brothers the palm centro and the palm treo nice size of the phone not to small like the centro and not too big like the treo ,keypad size its ok but other then that not a very exciting phone if windos mobile 6.0 its your thing go for the pro other wise the bold is 50 times better

  • Hi guys, I currently I could get a free mobile either this mobile or blackberry bold. Could anyone advise which one is better? Is this mobile also have a push email function? Cheers, Ice

  • For all to note that the above feild that states call history: practically unlimited" is incorrect. The maximum number of calls that the PDA will store is 80 calls of which each number if there is a history will show incoming, outgoing and missed calls. On another point the backlight remains on while you are on an actual phone call. This as you can imagine does not give you the privacy to talk while someone might know who you are takling with. A flaw that is to be corrected by Palm Inc.

  • I have alway own a palm and find it to be one of the best phone i have ever used, but they need to compete with the other phone makes becausethey are logging behindI own a 680 and lookng to get a new phone which is going to be a palm.

  • too expensive, bad material,

  • You should not generalise so much. If you think the Palm's battery is crap try an HTC and then comment. I think the Palm has a decent battery life.

  • I have owned many win mo phones inc touch pro and touch diamond and ive had this palm for a few weeks now. It has given me no problems except for ring silencing issues which im hoping palm will sort out soon. Other than that I highly recommend the phone if you need a great business tool.

  • This phone is absolutely crap. been getting glitches on it ever since I'd purchased the darn thing. The battery life is only 100hours ... Total rubbish

  • It has been a while since i read so many positive comments about palm..Palm will be the only phone in my life..

  • all palm product used sms chat.. :)

  • 680 sucks......are you kidding me if you want palm os go to the centro. i cant wait to get the pro

  • yes it has sms in chat style

  • you forgot one thing about the E71; weak reception... i had it for a while and had to give it up. i work in an area with weak signal, only few phones that have good reception worked like "suprisingly" E66 and Treo Pro.

  • i had this phone for 2 months, great phone, except for the buzzing sound everytime you use the headphone(came from the box) for calling.called palm, sent me a new unit today, same thing.buzzing sound on headphone while calling.any treo pro owner have the same problem?

  • does it comes with a palm os??? i've used a lot of smartphones but the palm treo 680 is still the best even with a very bad battery life!!!

  • Sexy phone.

  • hey this sounds like a really gret phone i wish i could afford it...

  • Of course it has - it is a GSM phone, so it will work with any sim card.

  • Does the Palm Treo Pro have a SIM slot for, lets say, T-mobile users?

  • Hi, I'm from Indonesia and I just wanna ask about the sms. Does Treo Pro has sms chat like Treo 680 or not? 'couse I'm heavy texter. Any reply would be appreciate. Sorry for my bad english.

  • Hi,, i owned Palm 680 but i want to repalced it with Palm Treo pro since it had a great feed backs from users..and Plam treo 680 is not that bad also..Palm softwares are greater than the others.....

  • I've owned the Treo Pro for about a month now and I'm very pleased. I had to return the first one because of bad hardware (malfunctioning keyboard). But, since I got the new one, it's been terrific. Solid, great reception, long battery life, easy to use. I've been very impressed with the reception and after moving from an iPhone, I was amazed at how well it not only picks up networks, but consistently stays on 3G networks. I've also found the phone very fast and though I'm not much of a touch screen fan, I even use the touch screen soft keys. Love the size and configuration. It fits easily in my pocket and seems to be holding up well. They keys are a bit small, but I manage and have not found this to be a show stopper. I've had one issue with the Wi Fi. It will not pair with my home wireless. I have a new Cisco (Linksys) N router and the Palm won't pair with it. I called both Palm and Linksys and, of course, they blamed each other. But, I did find info online where others had the same problem. Since I don't use the wireless much, especially at home, so I'm ignoring this shortcoming. All-in-all, liking the Treo Pro, which is my first Palm smartphone. This is probably the best smartphone I've owned.

  • I have been using the Palm Treo Pro for three weeks. Battery Life is much better than any of previous smartphones I have used (HTC Diamond, HTC Touch Dual, HTC Touch, Palm 750V...). I would need two charges per day on those while I only need to charge the Treo every two days of heavy use. Keyboard and camera resolution are not the best. I also miss a storage card. The menus are not as attractive as on the HTC's but Windows and all the applications run much faster. So far I have't restarted yet. Wifi works great. Probably Best value Windows smartphone today.

  • "This spell end of Palm, don't you think.. I guess Palm knows this and is a matter of time, they retire, buried and forgotton." haha, you spoke purely against the brand based on your opinion. palm is often seen in a class all it's own because it's a brand of function, not novelty features. i like nokia and SE, but this phone is a huge leap forward for palm. based on all the reviews and comments, i already know this will be my next phone.:)

  • This phone is absolutely great! I own a little company and this phone has had a huge impact on my productivity and I am planning to equip the entire company with Treo! It is fast, its GPS is excellent and the battery life is very good. I have owned many Blackberrys and even the iPhone, but this phone is sooo much better. I strongly recommend it to everyone!!!

  • Its great but i still prefer the Blackberry Bold 9000, 'cause the battery last longer!!

  • I agree, they have bigger screens, but if you need a good business smartphone with both wifi and gps I think that Treo Pro is quite a good and affordable deal. But of course, if you are planing to watch movies on it or using it as a digital camera, then HTC or SE are better. The main reason why I have a positive opinion about this phone is that the vast majority of people who bought it are very satisfied with it - it is stable and has very good expansion capabilities. If you have some time, go to one of many Treo-related forums or read some reviews - they are very positive about it. I am sorry if you had bad experiences with Palm in the past, but don't judge this phone on that basis. ;)

  • em.. Touch HD is more expensive becouse... besouse come on... screen, camera... X1 is more expensive becouse qwerty, screen... they are more expansive just becouse they are much better... there is a nokia phone, that has a black and white screen with no camera and it is only 10$... so I could say that Palm is expensive... its like saying that Rolls Royce is wors than opel just becouse it is much more expansive..

  • Come on, I really don't know what are you talking about! OK, Palm had many problems and didn't innovate for quite a long time, but their every new phone is a hit - Centro, although low end is highly popular and they are selling huge amounts of them. And regarding Treo Pro - don't compare it with htc or other companies - it has smaller screen and little bit less memory, but it has gps, wifi and all other high end features for about 200$ less!!! That's right - Treo Pro costs around 500$ unlocked. Look at toher manufacturers - there are no such capable phones in this price range. For example - Sony ericsson Xperia costs more than 700$ and HTC Touch HD also. If you don't like Palm, it's your problem, please don't bother the rest of us with it, because this really is a great phone and I stromgly recommend it.

  • Seriously, Palm is struggling to compete with the big boys such as nokia, samsung, lg, SE , htc etc. Just look at the offerings put up by Palm in the last one year... anything interesting, technologically advanced? or great design.. not at all. Nothing out there seems to be a crowd favourite. This spell end of Palm, don't you think.. I guess Palm knows this and is a matter of time, they retire, buried and forgotton. I had a Palm treo 650, loved it,....was a great phone then....

  • Hi. I bought an Australian (Telstra) Treo Pro. My Vodafone SIM card slots in nicely (although it's tricky to get the back off!) and attaches to the Vodafone NZ 3G network.

  • Yes, it can sync with mac. Look around for "Mising Sync" - that is the program you need to sync. :)

  • i think this phone has great feAtures. my question is:does it sync with macintosh? thx.

  • htc stands for high tech computers which is a distribution to microsoft and windows which all htc phones run off windows mobile 6.0

  • I have the HTC Touch that runs under Windows Mobile 6 and I was able to do it. So the solution should be the same. Do the following. Go to Configuration/Connexions. Select Connexions. Then go to the tab Advanced. Click on "select networks". Then for each type of connexion you enter in "edition" and go to proxy settings and there you uncheck "This network connects to internet". You do this for all type of connexions. This avoids your pda to connect via GPRS to download data automatically. It will only connect when you use Wifi. Good luck.

  • While on a conversation the touch screen remains on...is there a way to disable the backlight while on a conversation?

  • I am kinda lost here on the connection part of this device. Everytime I hit the internet key it logs me on to my GPRS service which is quite expensive. However, when i go to my connections to disable this feature i dont see any options to do so ( i do not want to delete it but disable it) Any step by step guide on how to disable this function Thanks

  • i have had the troe pro for one week now still have not had to reset it both soft or hard if you are a phone addict like me thing i dont need to tell you all the stuff this phone dose just to say buy it you wont regret it and for the blackberry users out there come home like that text looking crap phone go your paying all that extra money for nothing. trust me i can afford any phone and any plan out here to date and i had the blackberrys and thereall junk you can do the same thing on a windows phone at haft the price!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh ya by the way i still think iphone is the best phone ever the only thing this phone has that the iphone dose not is dropped calls and missed call i dont have that any more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i have been using the treo pro for the last week amazing phone much better than nokia e71,motorola q9,and balckberry bold. please try the phone first then post your comment for those who want to attack my opinion

  • @all Please, choose Nokia E71, better battery lifetime!, better keypad, better sound quality, better handled, and more charming!

  • I am currently running a Treo 750v and suffered all of the problems posted for that phone, such as failing to pick up calls, dropping bluetooth connectivity, failing to ring. I am attracted to the Treo Pro but want to be sure that the same problems don't exist with it, as I'm sure it probably shares some technology. Has anyone had those style of problems?

  • WHat if one has invested in Palm OS software, it will be useful if the applications and data is migrated gracefully.

  • Dose I've never had a Palm before, or any smart phone really. My mom just bought the V500 and i really like it. That runs on Windows 6.0, whats the difference between a Palm OS. Also I was looking at one at a website and it showed it using a the new Windows OS. what dose it run on?

  • i think this phone is great.. could say maybe one of the best.. after coming off the imate 8502.. this phone is smooth looks great and is super fast with 3G

  • Why Palm OS?!Cos its only the best most stable OS ever.

  • It looks like the Palm Pro is competition to Nokia's E71. First question, is there a Palm Pro that opearates on the Palm OS system and not microsoft; Second question, Is the Palm Pro (Micorsoft OS) compatible with Skype.

  • why would you want to install palm on it anyways?

  • pl give details on built in hands free.is there auto pick up in coming calls after rings to blue tooth device?

  • You can if you install StyleTap - it is Palm OS emulator for windows mobile.

  • hi this comes out with windows only?? can i install palm software on it

  • This unit appears to be direct competition to the Blackberry bold with perhaps a little more feature-wise. Palm has poor exposure and service in the UK! Why is this? They are good units and very user friendly, but with no back up in the UK, they can forget it!

  • The Treo Pro does hav IR - love that it has WiFi and the on board GPS! Really cool device!!!

  • Quite impressive but yet to. No FM radio as well.

  • Not enough, a complete smartphone today must have secondary camera for videocalls, a flash for the main (and the only one in this case)camera and fm radio (to take advantage on the 3.5mm jack)would be nice.

  • the only windows mobile with 3.5 mmjack only thing missong is tv out

  • This is a beauty!! everyone have been complaining about palm being outdated, without wifi, and see!! palm has already took a step forward..long live to palm

  • Hi SeattleJim, Go here: and you can see it says IR-port on the side.

  • Is there really infrared? Why isn't anybody offering any proof? It's not on the spec sheet, and I can't find it on the closeup photos of the phone. The top just shows the Power and Ringer Switch. I see no infrared. Where is it?

  • ya men, gsmarena makes to much mistake on their specs, men this phone has infrared and 32gb expandable, by the way this phone kicks butttt all the way

  • Please get new agent in Malaysia as the current one no nothing about palm, poor customer service, poor product availability. Will tarnish the palm image.

  • Yes, I've used this Treo and can confirm it has Infrared and can hold a high capacity memory card. GSM arena, please correct this in your specifications list.

  • LETS get this straight. Treo Pro DOES have an Infared, like singh said, and yes, it holds up to a 32 gb card, not 8 gb mentioned above.

  • Don't worry. It does have a Infrared. :)

  • Treo Pro does have infrared and it can hold up to a 32GB memory card.

  • Treos' are great design and they improved with each new releases - Treo 600, Treo 650, Treo 680 in terms of styling, Qwerty Keyboard. No experience so far with their Windows Mobile. Believe they have worked well on improving call's voice quality and signal reception ? I am happy to note the size. Will Styletap be bundled for the benefit of large palm users. Great Designs but lack of marketing and advertisement in growing market like India.

  • i have treo 650. will i be able to put my contacts inthis new model. does the stylus works fine or do we have to press a little more like in treo centro. somebody please let me know it will be a great help. thank you

  • it TERRIBLE there is no infrared !!!! how could they? How are we Realtors going to upgrade, I cant believe they did not put an infrared in the new treo I was so looking forward to this new device :(

  • I think that it has IR Port.

  • Is there or is there not a infrared port?

  • Does it or does it not have infrared?

  • I am a user of Treo650. I love the phone and its working fine.. Love to have the PRO...

  • Nice, I've been waiting for this one since I read about the 800. Pity is only available on Telstra though...............

  • Finaly a 3.5mm jack on a PDA.Thumbs up for Palm. Stupid HTC is still on with their USB port for audio

  • What, no Opera browser installed ? Can't compete then... with HTC Diamond or Pro, or Samsung Omnia, or SE Xperia, or iPhone !!!

  • I really like the design and Features of the phone, but come on Palm. You put a LI-lon 1500 mAh battery and you can only get 250 Standby Hours. Yes you going to say that the touchscreen take the alot of the battery. I have a Motorola V8 and the standby battery life is more than Treo Pro by for. To take it one step further the Sony Ericsson P1 has alot more specs and use a smaller battery than the Treo Pro but you get a more from it. And the Blackberry Bold has the same battery and you get the more from it. Palm I really like the phone just get the battery sort out and it will be a really good contender for a good smart phone.

  • Infrared port= yes as shown on the initial photos. Nice handset!

  • no it can't, only according to the manufacturer's specs :P Coincidentally I also own an N95-1, and to be honest noone who owns one will actually get 6 1/2 hours talk time from the battery, unless they're using a custom battery lol I get (at a guess) 3 1/2 hours talk time absolute tops, and most of my customers say the same.

  • True, but my N95-1's crap 950 mAh battery can get 220 hours stand-by and 6 hours 30 min of talk time. =]

  • whoa whoa whoa... let me get this straight. the talk time is 5 hours, and as we all know the actually battery life is roughly half of what the manufacturer states, so this battery only has 2 1/2 hours talk time before it dies?!?!?!!? lame.

  • Exactly what I've been waiting for. Can't wait to buy it. Unless of course something better is released between now and the Palm Pro release date. Something better isn't here yet...don't even mention another phone...I've already checked them ALL! Hurry up, Palm!

  • 250hrs=over 10 days, surely you can find a charger in that time. Crtisism for no reason is not constructive.

  • wow such a big battery but still crap standby time?

  • Wow! Cool features, cool specs, cute phone. Really tempted to pinch the cute lil cheeks (red n green buttons). Only prob is the screen size. Camera's somewhat low but who cares. I've got my digital camera to snap. Other than that, nice. Wow!, again.

  • Wow! Cool features, cool specs, cute phone. Really tempted to buy it once it's out. Only prob is the screen size. Camera's somewhat low but who cares. I've got my digital camera to snap. Other than that, nice. Wow!, again.

  • good processor, good memory RAM and a 3.5mm jack too. But the camera.. just to take pictures of documents (I hope the lack of auto focus does not demage this function). Oh, and it is good looking =D new palm design, much better!

  • looks great first

  • thisa fone looks good

  • HA HA ME FIRST!!!, Why is evryone jumping on the PRO Band-wagon?
