what i found out about i-mate PDAL is that if the wi-fi signal is poor you will have a hard time connecting to the net. tap the start button, tap on connections tab, tap connections manager icon, tap the space below "wi-fi" and you'll get connected to the net in no time... i saw an ad in ebay selling batteries for this unit... my question is, how can you upload movies and videos in this unit?can someone help me please?

Hi Rajiv, The Slot for Memory Card is in the Outside of the phone. There is mentioned T-Flash. You just open that cover and put your Micro Sd card on that slot. Hope this information helps you.

Hi Ashok, If you are getting that your IMEI no. is out of reach then pls follow the instructions below, i am sure you will be get rid of this problem. Go To Setting --> System --> Master Clear. Man c'mon. u serious. u need to go into settings...then connections n create a new modem connection. Call ur service provider and get the APN and sae the settings. u shud be able to connect to the internet...CIAO!!!

I-MATE is an EXTREMELY BAD COMPANY. Never buy its products. Pros: Very good quality of buttons (But the paint is of very bad quality). Cons: ROM claimed 128 MB given 64 MB. Software is heavily faulty & can't be repaired by a human being who lives on earth. Description is under: IMEI changes automatically to a random number. After that i-mate's own softwares stop recognising your device & say ITS NOT AN I-MATE DEVICE. Then can anyone tell me WHAT THE HELL IS IT. This makes the device extreamly unstable and it works only because windows operating system (A product of Microsoft Coorporation NOT of I-Mate) keaps trying to fight its way to keap its customers happy. Supprise...Supprise I-Mate has also released a patch for this device BUT KINDLY READ THIS CAREFULLY the patch is also FAULTY. At last I-Mate customer care: Never visit this place without money. They can't give service to products under warrenty because it's free. If you pay for the service then they will great you with a GLASS OF WATER, TEA OR COFFEE take your money for repairs & return your device after 15 days the way you gave them WITHOUT DOING ANYTHING and guess what NO MATTER HOW MUCH POWERFUL A PERSONALITY YOU ARE THEY CAN'T GIVE YOUR MONEY BACK BECAUSE I-MATE ATE IT. Personal recomendation: Go to a resturant instead of I-Mates customer care. I have i-mate PDAL since a lot of time and I know almost every kind of the functionality it has. Instead of buying any of the I-Mate's products go & give this money to a poor man he will give you BLESSINGS. I curse I-Mate to get bankrupt for stealing my money.

I have PDAL fron aprox 2 years now. Extremly bad phone n very high rates as compared to flaws in it. It can't be repaired by the company also. Patch available on i-mate's website will only disable its internal i-mate configurater, but the error will still be left as it is. Instead of buying this phone i recommend of giving away the prise of this phone whatever it is (say 1$ or 1000$) to charity atleast the people who will get ur help will give u good wishes. If u don't believe me then go ahead buy this phone and use it for 2 months then see what heapens next. All the best.

I bought this handset from Wave Communications Wavetel (shop no.3&4 #28 velachery main road, rajakilpakkam, chennai-600073), on 27th Aug 07. The invoice cum delivery challan number is 2282. From jan 2008 to till date i had been to ICCONET service center for about 04 times for the problems- 1- touch screen not functioning 2- network connection problem with handset 3- unusual noise from the speakers 4- not charging. In order to use .mp3 ringtone you will need to save your mp3 file(s) to the windows/ringtone folder. This folder can be accessed thru the file explorer.

To set a ringtone in this phone you must have .mp3 to .wav coverter because this handset toky support .wav format sound as a ringtone. While playing .wav format on your phone just click on calling icon . There you can set it as your ringtone.

This phone is horrible. Have had a series of problems ever since I bought it. First the connection keeps trying to access GPRS when I have not enabled it. Then the battery life is about half a day max on full charge. Then the service station for the phone got shifted out of my city (Pune), so I had to go to the next city just for repairs. And now the resale value is garbage. Just check and they are trying to give a lot of freebies with the phone currently to make it sell!!!

I like this model, but can somebody tell me how I connect to Internet I Installed Actice synch but what settings required for connection specaillay in LAN environment where I have no ISP number. One thing more Active Sync not connected to the PC even I have selected USB from the options.

I buy I-mate in computer discount shop in italy for 229 euro. This is my first pda. I use this to connect internet with my wifi home network. I use opera mobile that render the pages like the desktop browser, more fast than Internet Explorer. It's a good Pda, but it has a slow microprocessor, and it's not 3g Umts, or Hdspa. But for a simple use with no asking miracles to this it's good. The sound it's not optimal, i have a cellphone with more audio quality. A good pda, but if you want better see other models. Support it's terrible the site clubmate.com don't recognize me, but i'm correctly registered. It's a good idea buy an hp or other brands, because they hawe a better support.

Bloody i-mate PDAL, this dame model has umpteen problems, honestly it hasn�t gone through very basic lab test although has fabulous attraction over other models, what a big fun. - Noisy, hard to listen. po.pe..pa.pr.. - Speaker hardly audible at max volume - SMS stops coming in all of sudden - Does not recognize all SIMs at UK. - IMEA out of range, no useful error report, - Imate-configurator supported only in I-mate device, works after reboot - ActiveSync, sucks � changes what not.. - Blue-screen�the symbol of Microsoft, weeps often - Horrible service in India - plus many more But good it could serve as very basic phone, just dial, try not to do anything else�.

Dear All This is my third Imate , pdal is better than kjam and jaq 3 , both mentioned imates are horrible but the pdal is working properly and doesnt freeze and full of features . i recommend it to everyone who loves proffesional mobile

i have bought it two months back & it's really working good, i have downloaded many software in it and havn't got any problem till now,hard to understand why people have given so many negative feedbacks about PDAL.think logicall you go the market to buy a mobile you spend $350-$400 & u get a nokia/sony erricson/samsung handsets with the basic features....but in the same price u can get this device that suppots every software, so many features,nice looking handy PDA....go for it.

Ok, when i first got my PDAL i was really excited and happy with it, after a few months, the PDAL started screwing with me; it freezes whenever it wants, when someone calls, it freezes, when i try to open a program it freezes. I rebooted it like a million times and i still have the problem. My advice, dont buy it, it stinks big time.

Do not buy imate products in India. Their service is terrible. I tried resolving my problem with the touch screen of the PDAL and despite my repeated efforts at reaching them, they have not been bale to resolve them. And nor are they offering a replacement to the phone, especially given that their support centre has acknowledged that there are problems with the imate PDAL

I'd give it a 8/10 based that I paid $340 for it. I am a long time Ipaq owner and have been tweaking Windows CE/2003/Mobile for a while. I am aware of the limitations and this phone has many of them. The first thing you need to install is a program manager that let's you close applications easily. I use Magic Button. It's a bit old but does the job very nicely. Next, remove I-Mate configurator from start up if you don't use it. It stops nagging about operator names and probably saves some memory too. When you have closing programs down sorted out the phone becomes a lot more usable as a PDA. Now I have to admit, the phone interface is ok but I can see straight away that buttons would be good. I have not had any issues with the touch screen yet and even with my big thumbs, but it just doesn't feel right. As a PDA it is slow, but the size and communications capabilities make up for that. I use TomTom Navigator 5 and it copes nicely while on the phone! Even Skype works well. Now the things I don't like...... The video capture is poor. Stills are OK but you won't be throwing away your digital camera. Playing back video in Media player is awful. MP3's are OK. It also lacks a backup utility. Now for what I hate the most.... ready?... the finish is slippery and I know that I will be dropping it all over the place. All in all I am pleased with it and would certainly buy it again. If you are not an Windows Mobile/PDA user this may not be true for you. From what I've seen of the I-Phone it is not anywhere as elegant. The big plus is all my Windows Pocket PC apps work.

Okay, I bought one. Almost didn't reading the write ups about it. BUT I'm happy, it is a little bit slow but I have a lot of other apps loaded. Overall, if you want a phone that has proper business capabilities without being the size of a small car this is the one. Oh yes, looks really good too.

I am a PDA user for more than 5 years (SE P800, SE P900). I have just bought this device for the WiFi option and also WM, but the device is slow, wifi connection has a serious conflict with the system, after using wifi, if the device lost the network for any reason such as going out of coverage area, it will never ever find it again until you do a hard reset and also it has bunch of other problems. For sure you won't be satisfied by buying this junk.

Hi Friends, Please do not buy any version of imate phone till they come out with a clear upgrade strategy. this is the only vendor who does not announse any upgrade from windows mobile 5 to 6 for existing customers. Even if you buy windows mobile 6 how can you expect an upgrade to future version.

Horrible Life time Phone I fell in this rate I could have bought the O2 XDA ATom itself only a little more costlier, or I could have gone in for E31 from Nokia or the Samsung Blackjack or I600 from Samsung are much better please don't go into this mobile i though i need windows mobile and a touch screen so went in for this phone but never ever do the same mistake as mine go in for Nokia E61i or Sony P990i those are much better.

well , i just bought PDAL, its not a dream machine,i got following problems A)Fonts are so small,if your eyes arent 6x6 then u dont need to buy B)sound Quality is power,specialy Alaram setting and Phone bell. C)sync function is horible , keep all backup before connected with your PC.otherwise it will delete all your computer data specialy microsoft outlook.besides,option for setting sync is very limited. I was the user of Sonyerricson P800,that machine is better then this PDAL,but the problem with sony is they arent using MS window programe .

Have been using PDA for more than 5 years but this is the first time dealing with the worst ever! Horrible machine: soft reset will make the phone ring for a round 3-5 minutes, hangs like crazy, so so slow,signal keeps dropping, battery usage is a killer, machine totally dies for no apparent reason..., I can go on and on!!! very upset for what i got for the price paid.., Do yourself a favour Don't Buy This Junk!!!

Great device. Connects to just about everything and without problems. Bluetooth browsing is faster than wi-fi. Syncs nicely with Outlook and Lotus Notes. Would like to be able to play "youtube" videos but it requires Adobe flash media player 8, which is not out yet. Imate PDAL looks great and is the only one to give you all these great goodies in a such miniature and efficient package. I am a stylus type user and am glad to see a device without a physical keyboard (I had it on my previous device and never used it; I'm just so much faster writing with the stylus than key punching). I'm just about to receive my blutooth GPS add on for Imate PDAL to complete this great small machine. I love my PDAL!

it is very light and that's it. esmertec java sucks. no midlet including gmail runs. rom upgrade on the clubimate is problematic. they still do not care about it. the support people do know nothing about it. I am using PDAs for 7 years (started with PALM), this is the worst product I have ever seen. I am so upset for the money I paid.

I bought the phone a week ago. I am very UNDERWHELMED with it. The quality of the sound when on the phone is poor and there is constant interference. I paid way too much for it. Very dissapointed. Can't get it to connect to my pc either. I would happily change it tomorrow, I just want to get some of my money's worth out of it.

The purchased the imate pdal 2 months ago. Owning it has been a labour intensive and unproductive experience. The literature accompanying the phone is rubbish, the service people do not know about the product, there is no communication between etisalat (tel serv prov) and imate, the phone must be switched on and off regularly to reactivate programme and finally the actual quality of the phone itself is poor. My phone dropped slipped off a chair and the screen cracked after 2 months of hell trying to set up the programmes and now imate want me to pay to replace the screen. To everyone out there DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY!
